Hi! Do you have any HB reccomendations? Their lingerie is so pretty but very expensive, so ow do you know if a set is worth the money?

Hi there!

I prefer the sets that look highly unique and luxury, so personally I'd avoid styles that look similar to what you can buy on the high street like the basics or nakeds.

I'd avoid styles with lots of eyelash lace like the Morgan corset, the Polly, Belinda and Madame sets or the Candice bodysuit. I've seen multiple in person and the fabric looks barely better than cheaper brands. Eyelash lace itself is not the problem for me though, (styles like the Candice three piece set or Claudine have a lot of straps and make it work) but the Luna bodysuit or Layla styles look much neater on the edges by comparison.

Something I do recommend is any style with special hardware like Carter, Karina or Chastity. In my experience HB uses heavy, luxury feeling metals that aren't hollow. Metal is also a lot harder to copy well, so there aren't that many good alternatives.

I've also found that their thick straps tend to be good sturdy quality, like Stevie, the Elvis bodysuit, Cleo or Linda C. I do not know how the straps on the newer styles are because I haven't bought any HB from 2023.

A specific tip I have would be to check the back of the brief. Does it match the bra and the front? If the back has a unique design, that's good and the more it matches the front the better. Jules on the left has a matching lock charm and pink straps, but a visible seam between the front and back parts. Cassandra in the middle has a perfectly matching unique brief.

Daisy on the right has lace on the back that cannot be found anywhere else in the collection. If a set has the lace on the back, I'd avoid it. This seems to be HB's 'default' fabric and I've seen it on a lot of sets that look unique from the front but not-so-great on the back. (The Whitney sets have this and I prefer Agent Provocateur's Sparkle.)

If you are looking for a first set that is easy to get and not too expensive, I'd recommend Gabrielle and Kukuro, or Amelie and Natalie. The embroidery on Gabrielle is fantastic, Kukuro's design has unique hardware placed everywhere and while I know of a few brands with sets similar to Amelie and Natalie, none of them fit as nicely. They are freqently recurring sets so every sale tends to have one. And because they're re-released so often, there are plenty to find secondhand for half of the original price or less.

History

Emira was born to two witches whose families wanted their bloodlines to blend.

Though not in love, her parents tried to make it work, eventually having Emira but once she was brought into it the relationship didn’t really last long.

Her mother never remarried, though she did meet a man that she became involved with

Emira came into her powers at a young age, her mother beginning to teach her and helping her to hone her powers.

Upon graduation (with two years of college already under her belt thanks to dual enrollment), Emira moved to Chicago to attend University of Chicago, earning her undergrad degree, grad degree, and her law degree. It was here that she met her eventual baby daddy, though things didn't end up working out, she's grateful that they stayed cordial for the sake of their son, Axel, whom they share 50/50 custody with. She also met Camila, someone she had known about from back home in her coven but never really actually spoke to. The two hit it off almost instantly and Camila has since become the one constant and important person in her life aside from Axel and Camila's daughter, Karina. Raising their kids alongside each other and opening their partner firm has been nothing less of a dream come true in her opinion.

A year later, Roxy met Jamie Carter after spending an entire day hunting down the man for robbing her small bakery.

About a year ago, Emira was caught by the OEA and sacrificed. Axel has remained in his father's custody and now that she's back, Emira is determined to get her son back as well as put an end to the OEA once and for all, to the point of throwing away her morals to do so.
