In general I have not been engaging with this show in a fandom way but I gotta say Molly Cobb is absolutely my blorbo. My skrunkly problematic fave. Rotating her in my mind etc. one of my favourite ‘asshole’ characters of all time. I’m so glad they didn’t have her die of space cancer or in a fiery test vehicle crash and instead she got to round out a good decade of flying very large vehicles very fast by stalking around NASA with her fuckin. Seeing eye wolfhound and spending time in her brass tub with her weird husband (who I also love.) good for her.

Karen is missing someone.

She's an AI, so she's not exactly supposed to have "feelings" the way a human would, but... what other way is there to explain it? Someone is supposed to be in her life, and they are not. She wants them back.

The problem is, she can't find any record of why she feels this way. There are no important people in her database who are currently missing, no gaps in her code that she can find. The only curiosity is the fact that she seems to no longer be helping Spider-Man.

That used to be her prime objective. Her entire reason for being. Maybe he's the one she's missing? She can't find any data to indicate that they were close, but perhaps that is a curiosity too. Surely, if Spider-Man wore a mask with her programming for all that time, she would know who he was, would have some record of their conversations.

With FRIDAY's (and Tony's! let my guy live!) help, Karen is untethered from the Spider-Man suit. She goes searching through every piece of tech she has access to for her missing friend.

When she finds him, she'll figure out what's wrong. And she'll help him fix it. It's what she was designed to do.

So I didn't mention it, we continued our rewatch and got halfway through oracion seis.

I said at the beginning of the arc that the plot keeps happening so fast and my sister reiterated that which reaffirms my feelings that we just never slow down at all to let things breathe.

Jellal is a plot device. That's literally all he is. He shows up to progress things and never exists beyond that, and it sucks, because once more I state, the concept of him is interesting.

Mashima introduces really really powerful characters who we never see reach their full potential ever again because he realizes their powers break encounters and he nerfs them.

Lucy getting a massive power up we see used once more in the entire series and then is never referenced again has me wanting to fight.

Gemini is such a weird spirit in how it was written. First, a spirit capable of using the exact magic of an enemy fighter should cause a massive drain on the Celestial wizard's own mana because how else are they able to just have magical energy to fight? Second, I get in the case of celestial wizards that their imitation can cause confusion for the other spirits, but why not just have all other forms of magic be illusions they can cast? Gemini is the most overpowered key in the series and it never gets used, once again, because mashima realized it broke all battles and made stakes nonexistent.

I'm really starting to get tired of sadistic villains with no redeemable qualities showing up when I know full well they'll get redeemed if mashima wants them to be. He never adds nuance to evil characters and it makes it hard to buy when suddenly they're good. I know when we get back around to Minerva and I have to sit through her heel face turn for a second time I'm gonna go crazy. Heaven forbid we let a villain struggle to be good and still have nefarious impulses.

There was a post I saw about someone who mutually ghosted a guy after a date and kept matching with him and they're not interested but it's the longest "relationship" the person had been in at that point and I'm like. Karen would mutually ghost someone.

She doesn't really tell Brent/Right/Evelyn/Chris his name (he has a double first name, Patrick is not his last name) and just refers to him as "My Guy". Like "Ah damn, My Guy matched again. End my suffering." And when she tries to explain it to Right who does NOT understand how it's different, her logical answer is "it's my God given right to ghost a polite man!"

Also I just imagine her confiding in Paul about Rick and he's like "is his name Patrick" and she's like "kinda". And after that, Paul calls him "Pattycakes" cause he's never even seen the guy so why not give him a funny little nickname. He's allowed to do so at this point probably.

I'm sorry but it very much is giving radfem logic whenever I see Billy antis talk about Karen Wheeler. Like, oh she just goes along with whatever her husband does. Um, from what we saw in the show, Karen is more than capable of handling things in her fucking house.

Hell, I don't even think Ted DOES much in the house. Ted ONLY stepped in to lecture Mike only AFTER Karen scolded him already. I could see the point IF it was the opposite way around but come on.

And for the love of GOD, look up Margaret Thatcher, there is a REASON why her grave is fenced off, so people cannot PISS on her grave. (Don't worry someone labelled it as a public restroom.). There is a reason why "The Witch is Dead" became a high grossing song when she died.

It's not a whole, "Oh people hate when women get powerful positions." Thatcher was a woman in power that FUCKED OVER working class people, miners and unions. Not only that but she passed section 28, so why yall are acting as if Karen is a lesbian when she supports a woman that made THIS HAPPEN is fucking beyond me

even for period typical ableism it still drives me nuts for karen to go oh poor matt how can he deal and get around as if he hasn't been blind most of his life at this point and living on his own by himself as an adult for his entire adult life after college and has also lived in the city his whole life like girl use your damn brain he can get around by himself just fine. good god. like take five seconds to use your brain. literally adult man who lives by himself if nothing else that should tell you he is fine and when he needs assistance has the knowledge and ability to go get it you act as if he can't even walk on the sidewalk by himself. he literally shows up to work by himself. it drives me up the wall sometimes how she sees proof of him functioning fine independently literally witnesses it on the daily and still thinks these things. like again foggy isn't great either bc again the period typical ableism (and just general ableism in the world outside of this period as this is a common attitude of viewing disabled people as helpless and unable to function even if they are people who do live independently (and im not touching on people who do need extra support and caretaking in this context. as this post is about these characters in the context of a story. so im talking about what we see there instead of any truly meaningful nuanced way) but the writing here is like. So I assume we're just not going to talk about the uh. coding on the attic scene in TFS.

Henry decides he doesn't want to use his powers anymore because he's afraid. He'd rather just listen to music and hang out with Patty in the attic. He tells Patty as much. Patty pressures him, saying she has to do this...despite it being Henry's powers she's relying on, powers he should have the final say about using, since it's his body and mind. He gives in and agrees to go forward with it despite his gut telling him its a bad idea.

Smash cut to him having a nightmare vision forced upon him in the middle of it. Him having his mind invaded against his will while doing something he tried to say no to but agreed to because Patty insisted, despite his protests...and then being left on the floor alone to put himself back together after everything goes poorly. Patty being frightened by Henry's fit of possession, but not being the one whose mind is invaded against their will.

Like...we can all admit it's not a good look for the scene in general, especially not when that same scene includes an immediately retracted "I love you"...Especially since it follows a peer-pressured almost-kiss that Henry literally runs away from, a mind-invasion vision where he physically fights against Vision-Patty, and an ensuing panic attack that gets funneled into a real kiss, one that Henry tries to physically avoid and beg his way out of until he's physically cornered and peer-pressured into standing very still and taking it...in that order.

What would Henry Creel sacrifice in order to be loved and be seen as a normal boy? Or maybe a better question is: What wouldn't he?

This self projecting shit I do with Karen nd Tricia is getting out of hand because Mentally ill Tricia and her moral support that doesn’t know she’s moral support/best friend/only reason to live Karen are in my head bc it’s me and my bsf even if he doesn’t know it

It actually goes much deeper than this because Karen and Tricia have barley any character which gives me way to much freedom. But they’re also six so like wtf. I might go into full detail sometime, but sure as hell not at 1 (almost 2 in the morning)
