Nancy Drew, Ex.1x05 – The Case of the Wayward Spirit
Yeah, the characters are growing on me a little bit more.  But, at the moment, I love Victoria.  The actress, Liza Lapira, is really great. I mean, I’m glad that Lapira ended up as part of the main cast on another show, but I would have loved to see her pop up on this show more often.  Of course, I am assuming that nothing happens to the character this season (I just read that Victoria was in one season, not what happened to the character).
Well, we’re just jumping right into it this episode.  Tiffany, who’s possessed George’s body, goes back to Tiffany’s home.  There she cuts her her/George’s finger with a razor and writes “I know” on the bathroom mirror.  Fun times.  (Bye the bye, prop department needs better flake blood.  That is clearly paint).
The next morning, Nancy is thinking about her next steps.  Clearly Lucy wanted her to find the photo, which means Nancy needs to find out why.  She decides the only thing she can do is talk to Karen.  Apparently, Nancy is going by the Riverdale method of investigation. (You live in a small town; you literally can talk to anyone else.  Someone will know).  Of course, Nancy is thwarted by the evils of…leaving a message (Seriously, everyone screens their calls.  Leave a message).
Ok, so George is wondering if they have any smaller band aids at the restaurant…because she woke up and her finger was all bloody.  Where’d she wake up at?  Like we saw she has a home, so why wouldn’t she fix her finger there?  Anyway, a guy comes in asking if they can cater the Hudson’s charity event, held in Tiffany’s honor, at the last minute.  Which, George says yes.
George gets a call from Ryan, demanding to know why she was in his house list night.  Of course, George doesn’t know what he’s talking about.   That is, until he mentions a message written in blood.  George looks at her finger and quickly ends the call.
Nancy goes to the police station to talk to Karen, who isn’t in.  Long story short, Nancy finds out that they may be opening a case into Tiffany’s death because of what her father said about the autopsy.  Nancy isn’t able to find out more, however, as she gets texts from both Ace and Bess, asking her to come to The Claw as George is acting strange.
Nancy goes to The Claw and is told that George cut her hand while preparing food and, long story short, locked herself in her office.  Nancy tries to talk to George, but all George does is make a guttural…noise.  Nancy is able to force open the door and the three of them see George sitting on the floor.  She’s got a bunch of photos around her of herself and she’s basically scratching her face out of the picture.
They get George out of the office and she sits at the table, staring blankly.  Nancy wonders what might be causing this; Bess realizes George may be possessed.  And, again long story short, they check George’s locker and find the mirror she was supposed to put on Tiffany’s body.  I mean, I understand why Nancy wants to be skeptical; but at this point….
Meanwhile, Nick comes into The Claw looking for Ace.  He knows that Ace and Laura are close (not sure how, but ok).  He tells Ace about how Laura broke into his loft and stole the hard drive.  Now, as the box was meant for Nick, the drive probably was as well, and Nick wants Ace to help get it back.  Nearby, George/Tiffany turns to pay attention to the conversation.  The movement makes Nick notice George is there.
Nancy and Bess come out of the back, and they all watch George get up and start to rip at a paper with Tiffany’s picture on it.  Nick wonders what’s going on and Bess tells him that George is possessed by Tiffany. Nick says that’s impossible; but as he says that he notices that George looks like she’s trying to take a ring on and off, just like Tiffany did when she was upset.  Bess shows George the mirror, but all Tiffany sees is herself. Nancy has a hunch and takes a photo of George with her phone.  She shows Tiffany and Tiffany faints, leaving George in control of her body.
Of course, George doesn’t remember anything about it.  But then she sees the cut on her hand, and she realizes that something’s wrong.  The others tell her that she’s possessed by Tiffany, and they show her what she did to the pictures (well, Nick still doesn’t quite believe).  Anyway, Nancy suggests they take her home and, maybe, they can talk to her mom.
We learn that George is pretty much the breadwinner of the family and has two younger, much younger, sisters. When it comes to the spiritual, George’s mom clearly has a lot of knowledge.  George’s mother, Victoria, needs George to explain everything that’s been going on.  Bess shows Victoria the picture and she asks George why Tiffany would hate her so much. George admits to the affair, which is really bad for George as it’s clear that the ghost’s anger towards George will…look, Tiffany may have found a new body and George may no longer exist soon.
But, because the plot has to move on, George’s mom and Bess will be working on a way to get Tiffany’s spirit out of George’s body.  Meanwhile, George and everyone else (including Nick) will be working the catering event.  Nancy is told to call Victoria the moment Tiffany’s spirit comes out (which probably won’t be long considering where they’re going).  I’m sure Nancy won’t take this as an opportunity to find out what happened the night Tiffany died.
So, the dude that hired them, Owen is there to help them (and cause tension between Nancy and Nick). Also, damn dude, I know your jealous; but maybe this isn’t the time for loud noises and unnerving stares.
Nancy follows George out into the garden to hands out hors d’oeuvres and to watch George; all while acting normal.  That is until she hears the creepy children and sees something clearly buried in the yard. She goes over to the pile and starts to pull out the pink dress; until she’s grabbed by a hand.  She pulls away and stumbles back into Karen.  Nancy looks back and the mound of dirt is gone. Nancy shows Karen the picture of Karen and Lucy together and demands to know why Karen lied.  Karen said it’s because of guilt.  They were best friends until after a party during their junior year; at which point Lucy pulled away.  Some kind of underground thing and Lucy is why Karen became a cop.  We…we’re not supposed to trust Karen, are we.
And then Owen swoops in, in a business suit.  Oh, I guess he’s rich…he’s a Hudson, isn’t he?  Oh, no, he’s a Marvin (and I think we just found where Bess is going to get her DNA sample).
Back in the kitchen, we find out that Ace has gotten the drive, but Laura has come with it.  Laura says that Tiffany was collecting evidence to take the Hudson’s down, but then stopped talking about it.  Nick believes that Tiffany was protecting Laura that’s why she gave him the drive, but Laura counters that it was in a place that Laura would know to find it.  Ace suggests working together, but Laura makes it clear she’s only there to get the password. One more try and she’s locked out. Ace suggests to Nick they ask George; which Nick thinks is crazy (And I’m with Nick.  Not because I don’t know George is possessed, but because this can go really bad, really fast).
Ah, so Owen is our exposition guy this episode.  Ryan meets up with Owen to talk about a deal they had.  However, Owen isn’t so sure as he checked with Ryan’s father; who tells Owen that Ryan has lost the Hudson corporation hundreds of millions of dollars; basically, Ryan’s fortune at Hudson’s.  Rayn says he’s on his way to making it back, but Owen won’t take the risk.
Meanwhile, George sees Ryan and that’s enough to make Tiffany possess her again.  Tiffany grabs a knife off a table and heads to where Ryan is, making sure she’s not seen.  But then she sees her clothes in a van and stops.
Ace, Nick, and Nancy realize George is missing.  They call Bess, who’s bringing Victoria, and they go to look for George.  Well, Ace almost does; but he sees Laura.  She starts to dance with him (uh, there’s dancing at the party.  This isn’t some random thing) and asks what he was saying about her sister.  He tries to pretend he didn’t say anything important, but she knows he’s lying.  She wants him to tell her everything.  She may want to sit down first.
Beth comes but without Victoria.  She runs into Lisbeth, the woman Bess was interested in a few episodes ago.  Long story short, Bess gives Lisbeth her number. Then Bess sees George has changed into one of Tiffany’s dresses and is walking around with a large knife in her hand. Bess makes some…well she says she has to go and goes running into the kitchen.  Nancy sees her and asks where Victoria is.  Bess lets her know Victoria is on the way and that George is clearly possessed.  Nancy says she’s going to text Ace to let him know and go find Tiffany to get her answers.
Tiffany is walking down the stairs towards Ryan.  Ryan runs up to her, thinking it’s George, and demands to know why she’s there. Tiffany lets him know she knows about the waitress and kisses him.  Ryan is upset because there are people there….who clearly haven’t seen a thing even though Ryan and Tiffany are right in the middle of them all.  As this is a show that has the supernatural in it, I’m going to assume that’s what’s going on.  Nancy runs up to them and tells Ryan that someone is looking for him inside; giving him a chance to escape.  Nancy then says that people are looking for Tiffany and leads her away.
So, they go into the kitchen and, well, Nancy is trying to get Tiffany to tell her about the night she died.  Victoria has arrived and she’s getting ready to get Tiffany out of George’s body.  And Tiffany has no idea that she’s dead and in the wrong body.  Then, Nick comes in the room.  Taking a chance, Nick asks if Tiffany knows him.  This seems to be enough for Tiffany to, well she starts playing with a ring on her finger indicating that she’s upset.  And, so, Nick now Knows Tiffany is in the body.  And, Tiffany, it seems is starting to realize that something is wrong; but doesn’t accept she’s dead or murdered.
At this point, Ace and Laura run into the room.  Laura realizes that her sister is in there and tells Tiffany that they’re going to help her.  Of course, Bess says the worst thing possible and tells Laura they are banishing Tiffany’s spirit (Why not just tell her they’re helping her find peace?).  Laura tells Tiffany that she’s in the body of the woman who slept with her husband (basically, she deserves to keep the body?) and then knocks over the incense that is needed for the ritual.  Laura tells Tiffany to run, and she does; just after she grabs the knife she had put down.  Laura tries to go with her, but Ace grabs her.
Tiffany runs down the hall and into Ryan, who manhandles her into a room.  He’s pissed because he knows if his father finds out about what happened in the garden, that Ryan will be disowned.  George is able to break free for a moment and ask for help, but then Tiffany takes control again.  Nancy and Victoria burst into the room and Victoria tells Tiffany to leave George. Ryan, not knowing what’s going on, thinks Victoria is talking to him and decides to go.
So, everyone else comes into the room and they start the ritual.  Nancy promises to find Tiffany’s killer.  Nick promises as well and promises to stay with Tiffany until the ritual is over.  Tiffany makes Nick promise he will keep Laura safe, and he agrees.  Then, she says Dantes.  And then she is gone.
George wakes up on the floor.  At which point Victoria makes one of the best exits ever.  Nancy asks if Nick is ok.  He says he is and that he understood Tiffany’s message.  Nancy understands this means he has to go.  George asks if Nancy got what she wanted.  Nancy says she did because George didn’t die.  I don’t think George really believed her.  Bess wants George to spill her trauma, but George is like it was horrible and no.
Nancy realizes that if ghosts work on pure emotion, that means Lucy was attached to something. Nancy looks at the picture of Karen and Lucy.  Lying on the ground, under Karen’s feet, is a poster.
Meanwhile, Ace and Nick are able to convince Laura to give them the drive.  She trusts Ace, but it’s clear that she’s not happy with the situation (to be fair, she just lost her sister a second time).
Nancy sees Owen and, long story short, he’s into real estate and construction.  She wants to know if he still wants to make himself useful and they leave together.  Of course, Nick and Ace see them leave and Nick is jealous.
Ace and Nick go to The Claw. Ace is worried Laura will not forgive him.  Nick is sympathetic, but also knows they need to get into the files first.  The password is Dantes, the first book Tiffany gave Nick.  And, holy hell, there’s a lot of info.  Of course, the biggest worry is that some of the documents are signed by Owen.  Nick calls Nancy, but she declines it.
She’s at a construction site where Owen is getting her something to dig a hole at her old high school. Um, she’s trying to unearth a time capsule.
At the end, Bess sends a message to Lisbeth to get dinner with her.  George is depressed and traumatized.   Nancy goes through the time capsule and finds a DVD.  On the DVD, there a shot of Lucy and a young man.  The disc starts to skip back and forth and the name Ryan is heard. So, Ryan may have something to do with Lucy’s death?

Let me get a taste
{ao3 link}
“Hen asked if we’re fucking,” Tommy says as he sits down at their table with his cake.
“Uh, what?” Buck asks. There’s no way he heard Tommy correctly.
“Hen asked if we’re fucking,” Tommy repeats. He gestures between them with his fork. “You and me. Well, I guess technically she and Karen both asked. They ambushed me to ask about my intentions.”
He takes a bite of cake and eats it slowly, moaning at the taste, just to be an asshole and rub it in Buck’s face that he can’t have any. Buck sometimes wishes he was the kind of person who found that annoying, but he likes it when Tommy does stuff like this; teases him and plays with him just this side of mean. Really likes it. And Tommy knows it.
“What’d you say?” Buck asks, a little dazed, caught in the fantasy of licking frosting off of Tommy’s lip.
He wants cake so badly. It’s bad enough he had to skip the mac & cheese at the buffet, now this? The cake on Tommy’s plate looks soft and fruity. Fuck keto. Fuck bodybuilding. It’s not fair.
Tommy licks frosting off of his fork and Buck salivates. “I told them we’re taking it slow. You’re setting the pace, and I’m just trying to keep up.” He lifts an eyebrow and savors another bite of cake
Buck laughs. “You made it sound like we’re fucking like rabbits.”
“Mhmm,” Tommy says around the cake in his mouth.
“And you… also said we’re taking it slow?” Buck’s eyebrows pull together in confusion.
“I did. They’re gonna have a hell of a time figuring that one out.” Tommy smiles as he takes the next bite of cake, obviously proud of the trick he’s played on their friends.
“You might be evil,” Buck teases.
“You love it,” Tommy says, scrunching his nose. “And anyway, it’s none of their business. You’re not a teenage girl in 1954, going out with some biker from the wrong side of the tracks. You’re a grown man. You can suss out my intentions for yourself. I’d hope you know by now that I didn’t agree to a second date at your sister’s wedding just to get in your pants.”
“I do know that,” Buck assures him. Their sex life is pretty active—very satisfying—but they’ve spent far more time talking, working out, cooking, and even cuddling than they have with their dicks out. It’s probably the most well-rounded relationship Buck has ever had. He feels respected. “You’re a total gentleman.”
“I wouldn’t go that far. I have to admit,” Tommy pitches his voice down, “seeing you in that medal… I’m feeling a little less than honorable right now.” He gathers the last bite of cake onto his fork.
Buck feels a thrill run through his body at Tommy’s words, but he’s watching that cake with rapt attention. “Give me the last bite,” he says. He sounds pleading even to his own ears, so he doubles down. “Tommy, please.”
“No,” Tommy deadpans. “If you’re gonna break ketosis, you’re gonna do it with someone else’s cake.”
“I don’t want someone else’s cake, baby, I want yours.” Buck goes for charming, flirty, seductive, but he’s desperate. He hasn’t had any carbs in days and the cake smells so good. He’s about to launch himself at Tommy and take that last forkful of cake himself.
“Mmm, lucky me,” Tommy purrs. “Pretty boy wants my cake all to himself and here I am, just trying to keep up.”
Tommy pops the cake into his mouth just as Buck lunges at it. His hand lands on Tommy’s empty plate.
“Evil!” Buck gasps, laughing.
“You love it,” Tommy repeats around his mouthful of cake.
“I really do.”
Tommy barely has time to swallow before Buck is kissing him; open-mouthed and honestly a little too dirty considering where they are and which homophobic captains are still around. Buck is chasing the taste of cake and frosting on Tommy’s lips, on his tongue, and he can’t help but moan as the flavors swirl and burst to life in his mouth: vanilla and strawberry and Tommy. He’s never tasted anything better.
Tommy pulls back before Buck starts licking the sugar off of his teeth. He presses a hand into Buck’s chest to gently push him back into his seat.
“Easy there, Evan. We’re still in public.”
“We got medals for breaking the law.” Buck’s eyes are dark, hungry. Now that he’s had a taste he wants seconds, thirds. Tommy’s been teasing him and all Buck wants is to get his mouth back on Tommy and never come up for air. “We can do whatever we want.”
Tommy laughs. “If only that were true. Save your appetite, though. I might have some cake you can eat at home.” He smirks, eyebrow raised. “If you behave.”
Buck smiles, wide and flirty. “Is it keto-friendly?” He leans closer again.
“All protein, baby.”

Nancy Drew, Ep1x03 - The Curse of the Dark Storm
Sorry, I know Scott Wolf is in his 50s, but he looks way too young to be Nancy’s dad.  And I don’t mean in the sense that he would have had to have been a teenage father; I mean in the sense that he looks maybe ten years older than her.
Also, while I still don’t really have any attachment to the characters yet, I am starting to get into the mystery part of it.  And so long is the mystery is interesting, I’ll watch it.  I mean, I’d prefer to have a show where I like the characters too, but…we’re just not there yet.
It’s the next morning, Nancy stayed overnight at Nick’s.  Nick goes to get coffee for the two of them.  Nancy finds the second phone.
Oh!  So the package Tiffany was talking about was the package Nick found in Nancy’s mom’s car?
Nancy confronts Nick with the phone, his record, and the fact that he probably got a package from her mom’s car and asks if he’s using her.  Which he swears he’s not.  Nancy tells him to prove it to her by showing her the package.  Nick refuses as it’s not for her and Nancy leaves.
Nancy goes home and her dad asks where she’s been.  She says staying with a friend.  He asks her to be honest; at which point she asks him where the pink dress is.  He says he threw it away, but she tells him she had checked the trash cans.  He said the garbage was picked up that morning (shouldn’t she know that?) and then deflects by saying with the legal trouble she’s in, maybe she should focus on staying out of trouble.
You know, for someone who’s daughter seems to be obsessed with mysteries, maybe you shouldn’t use your house as your law office as well.
Ryan comes to the house and Nancy finds out that Tiffany had a prenup…Tiffany’s money was left to Ryan, but Ryan can only collect if the death was of natural causes.  Also, he seems to be in some financial trouble as he’s talking about what money he can touch (interesting as his family is rich).
Nancy gets caught snooping. Her father shuts the door.  But as he walks away from the door, lightning flashes and we see a shadow of what looks to be to hands reaching for Ryan.
Nancy and Bess learn from Ace the George had a buck full of blood.  We also learn about how people believe Nor’easter blows restless spirits ashore.
Karen comes to the restaurant, and they are really using this character as a way to continuously advance the plot.  She tells Nancy that no traces of poison was found in the food.  She also tells Nancy that the DA is thinking of opening a case based off of Tiffany’s 911 call.  Nancy breaking into the morgue didn’t exactly make her look innocent.  But they also have a new suspect and that she hopes Nancy can help them with this.  One problem…NICK WAS ALREADY A SUSPECT!  They said so in episode one.  But it seems like he became their lead suspect based on what was in his sealed file.
Oh wait, there’s more. Karen isn’t just asking for help, she’s downright blackmailing.  If Nancy gives info on Nick, then she won’t be charged for the B&E.  Also, Karen just happens to say this while Bess, George, and Ace are STANDING NEARBY AND CLEARLY LISTENING.
Of course, after Karen leaves, they all go over and try to figure out what Nick did.  Ace mentions Manslaughter and Nancy accidently confirms this when she’s trying to explain to Bess the Manslaughter and Murder are different. Of course, George is happy about this as it may get them all off the hook; but Nancy isn’t willing to go so far as she doesn’t actually know what happened.
Nick then texts her and she meets him as the back of the restaurant.  The police trashed his place, as they were able to triangulate where the texts to Tiffany came from.  But they didn’t find the phone, because Nancy stole it from Nick.  She also deactivated it.  The reason Nick kept the phone is because he’s been studying the texts to find clues to the package, which he has with him.  It’s an old clock.  According to Nick, Tiffany told him not to trust anyone but he needs help.
Okay, so Nick knew Nancy’s mom because she was his social worker.  And he knew who Nancy was; but that’s not the reason he wanted to know more about her but because of the respect he had for her mom.  So, how Nancy’s mother fits into this is that she’s the one who introduced Nick to Tiffany; that she wanted Nick to meet with the woman who got him locked up.  At first, he wouldn’t speak to Tiffany and so Tiffany started to communicate with him through books that she brought him.
Meanwhile, something weird is happening around George.  First a coffee pot just shatters in her hand.  Then a harpoon, that was hanging from the ceiling, almost impaled her. Ace and Bess think she’s cursed.
In the back, Nancy is looking at the clock and she finds a removable piece.  On the piece, there’s a number that’s inscribed on it and it’s too new to be a smithing number.  Nancy thinks it might be an ISBN number and wonders if Nick has the books Tiffany gave him. Nick and Nancy, after passing the others creating a salt circle around George, leave the restaurant.
We find out that, through the books, Nick was able to tell Tiffany his side of the event he was accused of (specifically, there was a party and whatever happened Tiffany didn’t witness, she just heard glass breaking).
Nancy finds that most of the numbers are the ISBN numbers for Under the Lilacs.  The first three numbers represent page 170, which is the start of the chapter “A Boy’s Bargan.”  Tiffany apparently loved puzzles and left a trail only Nick could find. Nick mentions a place that Tiffany liked and he knew it had the work lilac in it.  Nancy knows where to go to get the information because of a symbol she saw on the paperwork when Ryan was at their house (I know Nancy has photographic memory, but does she have telescopic eyesight as well?  There’s no way she could see that seal for that far away!).
Nancy knows that they’re going to need help.  She and Nick go back to the restaurant and who should be watching from her car but Karen. Two people in similar raincoats run out of the restaurant and dive away in Nick’s truck.  Of course, when Karen pulls them over, it’s Ace and Bess.
Meanwhile, Nancy and Nick are using her mother’s car to go to the Lilac Inn; which is currently under renovation.  Something Ryan mentions to Carson, back at Nancy’s house, while bringing up the issue of money again.  Of course, Carson has to ask why Ryan is so concerned about his finances.  Ryan hears a noise like someone walking upstairs and goes to investigate.  Carson realizes Tiffany has the Inn approved for landmark status.
Ryan goes upstairs and hears loud banging and scratching coming from a room.  But when he bursts in the room, no one is there.  Of course, Carson is wondering what the hell the man is doing wondering his house and wonders if Ryan is on drugs.  They go back downstairs, and Carson lets Ryan know that the inn is being turned into a public landmark, which surprises Ryan who thought they were selling it.  Ryan won’t see a dime when it’s turned over…well, after the storm goes ends.  Also, Ryan hears noises again and then tells Carson that, before she died, Tiffany would wake up in the middle of the night and say she heard footsteps, which he thought was her medication.  Ryan doesn’t get any further because he sees Lucy on the ceiling.  Ryan freaks and Carson looks behind him to see nothing.   Ryan decides he’s out, but Carson won’t let him drive in this state.  Long story short, they’re going to the inn during a major storm.
Meanwhile, Ace and Bess are driving back, and Bess sees that a tree branch has gone through her van window. Of course, she can’t say anything about it and they drive on.  But Ace clearly notices Bess’s worried expression.
At the Inn, Nancy and Nick find a bunch of paintings of famous writers on the wall.  Nick tells her a bit more of his time with Tiffany and that, once she heard his side of the story, she wished she hadn’t testified. Of course, as we have to have drama, Nick suddenly doesn’t want to talk about what happened because he feels like Nancy is using the mystery to find out his past (which, she is, but also it really does seem connected).  Anyway, the argument ends because a car pulls up.  Nancy realizes it’s her dad and is in the process of telling Nick they have to hide, but Nick suddenly realizes that the pictures are a clue and they have to look in the kitchen.  They go to the kitchen and Nick realizes that they need to go inside the large cupboard.
Meanwhile, Ryan and Carson come in.  Ryan is looking for things to sell.  Meanwhile, Carson is wondering about the weird clause in the prenup; why mention the part about Ryan only getting the money if she died of natural causes? Ryan says it’s because his wife suffered from anxiety and believed people where out to get her, which is why the clause was there. (Carson’s face in that moment).  Ryan says that he doesn’t know how she died, maybe she was haunted?  Carson wonders if Ryan is serious. But it all comes back to the money.  Carson wants to know who Ryan owes.  And Ryan really isn’t helping his case that he’s innocent here, because he refuses to say.
Nick has a panic attack because he doesn’t like small spaces after living in a cell.  And normally, I wouldn’t make light of such a thing; but it’s also clearly there for drama, because the second it did what it need to do; suddenly Nick notices the puzzle in the room (although it was clearly there when they opened the door) and he’s perfectly fine.  Nick realizes one of the walls is fake and is able to find a safe behind it, but it needs a key.
Nancy realizes that the key must be hidden in the clock, especially since Tiffany said she wanted Nick to “turn back time.”  They enter the date and time of the day Nick supposedly killed someone and they find the key.  Nick uses the key to open the safe, but accidentally knocks over a bottle of wine. Carson and Ryan hear the glass shatter and go investigate (but clearly take their time so that Nancy and Nick have time to grab the evidence, put the room back in place, and leave).  However, Carson sees a footprint in the spilled wine (though he doesn’t say anything to Ryan).
Nick and Nancy go back to Nancy’s house only to find Karen there.  Nick finds out about the deal and realizes why Nancy was asking all of those questions.  Nick asks her what she’s going to do, expecting her to turn on him.  However, she is able to show Karen one of the books Tiffany gave Nick and told her to look at the visitation logs, which proved that Tiffany and Nick were in frequent contact with each other.  But because Nancy told the truth, Karen decides to live up to her namesake and make it clear that Nancy will now have to go to court for B&E.
Meanwhile, George is in the salt circle being watched by a woman who came in who wanted a job?  But the women, Rita, starts talking about curses. Rita tells her the protection only works if George believes.  Suddenly, a light drops from the ceiling as Nick and Nancy comes in.  Nick happens to pull George off the stool, just before the light sets the salt circle aflame.  Afterwards, George realizes the woman, Rita, has disappeared.
The group gathers in the kitchen.  Nick lets everyone know that Tiffany gave him the box and understands that they all think he could be a killer, a suspicion he didn’t help by not telling them about himself.  He tells them he wants to open the box together, in hopes it proves he had nothing to do with the murder.
We also find out what happened the night in question.  Basically, Nick was at a party with a female friend and this guy, Austin (?), decided he could do what he wanted with her.  However, Nick wasn’t going to let that happen.  Nick knocked him down, but Austin was on drugs, and he didn’t stay down. He went after Nick, who defended himself, and the guy went through a second-story window.  So, the reality is that Nick was defending himself and, of course, was blamed for the other person’s death.  The crew decides he doesn’t have to open the box with them there; but asks him to tell them what’s inside later.
Afterwards, George is cleaning up The Claw (the restaurant) and finds an old news article taped to the wall. According to the paper, Rita was a tourist who was decapitated in a boating accident many years ago (because taping that to your wall will keep the tourists).
Back at Nancy’s house, Nick opens up the box.  Inside are untraceable Barron’s Bonds worth five million.  Clearly Tiffany wanted to find a way to help out Nick without people knowing (yeah, he’s still going to have to explain why he’s suddenly so rich).  Nick also realizes that this most likely is more trouble than it’s worth and, if someone where to find out, could be used as motive.  Nancy is able to convince him to keep the bonds.
At which point, Nancy gets a text asking for help.  Nancy meets up with Ace, who called Nancy to talk to Bess.  Long story short, Nancy is able to convince Bess to come stay at her house.  However, as Bess is packing, Nancy finds Tiffany’s diamond ring.
Carson comes home and sees the wine on Nancy’s shoes.  He tries to call her; but as he walks up the stairs, he feels water dripping on his arm. Lucy’s above him.  But when he turns and looks….you know the drill.

Really longed for Matt to comfort Karen after she finally confessed to having taken a life before. It was such an intense moment for both of them. I just love their bond so much!
