Another team harasses the manager!
[START SCENE]
"Hey! Karasuno's manager! Don't make such an ugly face."
A certain (h/c) frowned, being cornered by tall volleyball players from other schools. He had just went to retrieve the paper rosters from the organizers for their current tournaments at the Sendai Gymnasium where Preliminaries are being held when he was stopped by students from other schools.
"You look like you don't have a lot on your hands right now. Why don't you come with us? Free some tension...you probably need it." A hand grasped (m/n)'s shoulders to which the (h/c) swatted it away. "Don't touch me." He hissed as he tried to move past them but another shoved him back against the walls, them moving closer to the manager.
"Hey hey. We're all friends here, right?" Hissing in pain as the hand lodged in his shoulder pressed his nails further, crinkling his black jumpsuit. "Listen here, fucker. I don't know what household you grew up in, but go ride someone else's dick. Better yet, why don't you go suck each other off? Since you're so desperate for some action."
(m/n) spat, his foul mouth and his temper wasn't a good combination but it was the right mixture for this situation. He pushed the players' arm and was ready to leave until his hair was clenched painfully.
A yelp from (m/n) and the ringleader of the group pulled his face close. "Nice face but a repulsive tongue...damn and I thought we could do this nicely. We'll find a use for your mouth soon." "Let go, asshole-"
Fuck, who do they think they are? The only one grabbing my hair is usually-
"I suggest you let him go."
A heavy voice uttered from behind them, catching the attention of the group. Asahi clasped the hand that seized (m/n)'s head. "Before I break your wrist." He muttered with a death glare, the light in his eyes gone.
"Fuck! Is he the coach or something?!" One of them whispered, scanning his mature features. Someone grasped (m/n)'s hand, pulling him away from the group. "Learn how to take a hint when someone says they don't like you." Sugawara pushed the manager behind him.
"Or go die in some random dump, you trash."
He stated blandly, his voice losing any cheery tone he would always carry. How ironic. (m/n) could never be more glad that the third years were here, clenching the papers in his hand. He felt someone gently pull his bicep.
"Go." Daichi muttered. "The team's around the corner. Go see Kiyoko for..." He brushed (m/n)'s head, where his hair was tousled.
The only one who would usually, or rather the only one, grabbing (m/n)'s head, tugging his hair, digging their nails into his scalp was Daichi Sawamura.
The (h/c) didn't think twice to leave the scene, not leaving a glance to the yelling players who had harassed him, Daichi particularly approaching the one who had pulled (m/n)'s hair.
-
He didn't want to be here anymore, (m/n) lazily draped himself across the railings. Only one manager was allowed on the benches so he and Yachi had to sit up in the audience' seats but he asked for some alone time from Yachi, her concerned about him after hearing that he was disturbed by a team from another school earlier.
Hinata had jumped up and about when (m/n) returned to their team, demanding to know who had hurt his friend and Kiyoko checked his scalp, making sure nothing was broken and everything was fine. Tanaka was adamant on being a good senior and wanting to avenge his manager so he went to help the third years who were confronting the aggressors but immediately retreated, staying quiet when Ennoshita asked what they were up to.
The games started and the first match went well, battling up against a two meter player. Daichi didn't speak to him yet. (m/n) noticed a bruise forming on Asahi's jaw and Sugawara only smiled at him quietly.
Second game came around and (m/n) held back a flight of curses from his mouth when the team Karasuno had to play against were the same players who had cornered him earlier, their captain glaring holes into Daichi. He noticed a few of them were missing, specifically the bitchy ringleader.
"Hey, (m/n). Thought you'd be down there this time."
Oikawa approached his cousin, leaning onto the railings in a similar fashion to the (h/c). "I guess all third years in your team is staying huh." He poked (m/n). "Yeah." He mumbled. "Looks like yours too."
(e/c) glanced at the Seijoh team that were currently watching over Karasuno's briefing by their coach. He noticed a new player. Someone that has a tennis ball for a head.
"Well, we're gonna beat Shiratorizawa this year. I'm gonna show Ushiwaka who's boss." "You say that at every game." The setter slapped (m/n)'s back, the latter yelping and smacking his laughing cousin. "So gloomy and for what? Your team seems to be energetic-...well they're playing more aggressive than usual."
Asahi slammed the ball set by Kageyama, earning a point as the libero was unable to receive the spinning ball. The ace looked furious, his eyebrows furrowing as he asked Kageyama for a faster set. Sugawara was itching to get on the court, pacing around, warming his legs up so he could be ready when he had a chance to play. Daichi was silent, his usual words of affirmation to the team gone. Only Tanaka and Nishinoya cheering when they won a point.
"We're going to win. Against them at least." Daichi muttered, his eyes gazing up at (m/n) when Coach Ukai took a timeout and asked what was wrong and why their play styles had differ today.
(m/n) stared back but quickly looked away when he felt butterflies in his stomach. He couldn't tell what those insects were trying to tell him. Daichi had warmed his bed a lot for the past month, even his parents assumed he was his boyfriend by how often he had came over to his house.
Karasuno won a fast game. Two sets straight, 25 - 17 and 25 - 13. The last set where all the third years were deployed went by quick, Asahi shining as the MVP.
"Well, that's my cue. I wonder when we'd play against you, it'd be any different." "....It will." Oikawa raised an eyebrow. "Thought you'd support me this time. Given how your team lost on our last match." "But they'll win."
(m/n) peered at Oikawa, from the corner of his eyes. "My team will win beating yours, Tooru." The setter only stared down at the manager with a smirk.
"What's with the change of heart?" "..."
He didn't reply, only getting up to greet the team as he stood in the hallways, letting Hinata crash into him. Sugawara pulled the middle blocker off of him. "Now now. Stop causing trouble or Takeda-sensei won't let us watch the other teams play." They were done for the day and as requested by Kageyama, they went to see Seijoh's match.
Sugawara held (m/n) behind however, letting the team go first as they stood in an isolated staircase. He ran his fingers through (h/c) hair, his eyes squinting at the manager as he smiled reassuringly. "I hope you're alright, (m/n). We beat them for you. Those idiots. People who have nothing else to do but lay their waste on innocents like you."
The (h/c) hummed uneasily, leaning his head on the setter's shoulders and his fingers clutching onto the latter's jersey. "I didn't mean to talk to them. They cornered me." "I know, I know." Sugawara cooed, his other hand caressing (m/n)'s back.
A similar but earlier incident had happened, whereas a student confessed to the (h/c), who declined but Hinata excitedly told the team and Sugawara had an outburst in private, accusing (m/n) of cheating behind their backs despite them having no declaration, only taming (m/n) into their current relationship.
"Did I ever scare you? You look at me like I'm going to snap your neck at any second." The setter teased, his hand trailing over (s/c) neck, his fingertips pressing onto (m/n)'s Adam's apple. "No. You wouldn't." That was a bluff.
He had learned that Sugawara had the most violent tantrums out of the three. Paranoid, spiralling about what (m/n) does when he wasn't around. The (h/c) had learned what to say, what to do overtime, to ease the third year.
Said third year smiled at him. "If anyone ever approaches you, like earlier, scream our names okay." He always made sure to include Daichi and Asahi. "Remember, you're our favourite."
He winked at the (h/c) who didn't give much of a reaction, only hugging the setter. Was there any difference between those assholes and the third years in Karasuno? Both of those groups forced him, into these uneasy situations, Karasuno taking a longer approach.
Crows tend to build their nests with meticulous resolve, choosing the right twigs and taking the softest materials for the lining. Karasuno did live up to their name, (m/n) completely accepting his predicament, laying in the den Daichi, Sugawara and Asahi had woven for him.
Sugawara pulled (m/n)'s face up, smiling at him before pressing his lips to the (h/c) who opened his mouth when the setter swiped his tongue on his lips. "Let me hear you, (m/n)." The setter muttered as he pressed his wet muscle against (m/n)'s caressing his palate and pressing their bodies closer.
"Mmnff ahh! N-Not here Suga- ahk!" (m/n) choked when he felt a hand cupping his crotch, his breath shaky and coming out in stutters as he pushed Sugawara's chest. His cheeks were hot and he clenched his fist on Suga's jersey.
"Hahaha is it because we're in public? You'd be much more in trouble with Asahi then." The setter pulled away, letting (m/n) breathe as he dragged him up the stairs and they stepped into the auditorium seating. "Go. You owe me a date for this." He kissed the (h/c)'s forehead before pushing him to the row where Asahi and Daichi were.
The setter walked past them, opting to sit beside the second years, distracting them when they asked where was the manager. Said manager stood nervously, Asahi and Daichi silent, both of them sat in the furthest behind row, whereas everyone was sitting close to the railings to watch the games.
Usually (m/n) had no problem conversing with them, the third years constantly talking first but here they are staying silent. "...Good game." He referred to the two sets they stole from those assholes.
The captain didn't even look at him, only staring into space with a frown on his face. Asahi spared him a glance before beckoning the (h/c) to sit next to him. But as he was about to sit, the brunette pulled his arm, making him land in Asahi's lap instead.
"Huh? What are you-" He was silenced by Daichi's glance, his heart racing as Asahi adjusted him, placing him directly on top his crotch. "Sorry, (m/n)." The ace buried his face into the (h/c)'s shoulders. "Let me borrow you for a bit."
Here? In public? Where anyone could see him being used like a fucking-
His hands shook as he tried to peel himself off Asahi, but the latter only tightened his hold, crushing his waist with his muscular arms. "I'm sorry." The brunette mumbled apologies and (m/n) could feel his erection pressing up against his pants. He prayed the others wouldn't turn around. Daichi didn't move a finger, (m/n) couldn't read his face as he hopelessly squirmed in Asahi's lap.
He's going to see. He's going to look at me and see me like this.
His heart was beating fast, the ace still breathing heavily behind him and grinding his bottom on him. Daichi still didn't give any reaction. (m/n) felt his heartstrings pulled as the captain didn't give a damn of what was happening to him. Unintentionally, he glorified- favoured? Treasured the ravenette the most, the one who always seemed so distant from him yet was so close and quick to clog his throat-
Tears welled up in his (e/c) eyes as he turned his face away when he saw Tsukishima glanced at him from the corner of his sight. He genuinely prayed that no one else would see him in this shameful state.
Asahi stopped bucking his hips when a high pitched heave escaped from the (h/c)'s throat, (m/n) holding in a sob as he carved his nails into the ace's arm. "Shh...it's fine. No one saw anything. They just think you're sitting on me." He whispered into the manager's ear who shook his head. Tsukishima saw him and he was one of the smart ones. The rest of Karasuno hadn't seen but what about the other teams? Strangers who might pass by their rows. He hated how his three seniors didn't give a damn about his pride.
Asahi didn't make himself obvious, he just wanted to loose some steam is all. In the end, he did use (m/n) like those harassers did albeit tamer than expected but the intentions were there nonetheless. (m/n) whimpered endlessly as he was placed to sit on the cushioned seat in the same one as the ace, still with Asahi seated close behind him. (s/c) hands trembled as he peered at the captain who cruelly ignored him the entire time.
A tear slipped down his cheek as Asahi cooed at him, apologising and kissing his ears while rubbing his waist. Ensuring the (h/c) that he didn't even got off or anything as he whispered sweet nothings with his apparent boner pressing against (m/n)'s back. The manager was much more prone to crying when they were in public.
His hands hugged Azumane's as he leaned back into the ace's body, his attempt to hide his figure as he pulled on the ace's black jacket. "Hic- you're so fucking- mean to me." (m/n) whined as Asahi peppered kisses all over his face, his stubble scratching against his skin.
"I won't do it again." The ace muttered, placing his chin on the manager's head. (m/n) peered up and noticed the forming bruise. His fingers went to delicately trace them. "I knocked his teeth out." Asahi mumbled.
"Would've done more if their manager hadn't come running." (m/n) flinched when he heard Daichi utter. The first he spoke around the (h/c) after the whole harassment he suffered.
Coarse rough fingers covered his eyesight, a fingertip pressing against his right eye lightly, brushing his lashes and the ace placed his face down where (m/n) had his hair violently tugged. "Tell me if you want him to lose more."
(m/n) didn't say anything, only nodding as he let the ace touch his body, caressing his chest and inhaling his scent. He didn't feel bad for the attackers at all. They dug their own grave for being assholes.
He caught Daichi staring at him, the captain still facing straight but his eyes gazed into the (h/c)'s face as he slowly returned his focus back onto Seijoh's match.
(m/n) managed to pull himself off of the ace when the games were over and Karasuno was preparing to leave. He made sure he avoided Tsukishima, not wanting to answer any of his probing questions. He had went ahead to wash the water bottles at a pipe when he heard footsteps behind him.
He looked behind him to see Daichi with the bottle carrier, the captain picking up the clean ones and placing it in its stations while (m/n) finished up the last one. A rare act of kindness from the captain to the (h/c). "Are there any others left?" (m/n) shook his head to Daichi's question.
The captain staring at him with dead eyes and (m/n) noticed the small blot of red on the edge of his knuckles. He didn't say anything, carefully pulling Daichi's hand and placing it under the tap, letting the water flow and washing the ravenette's hand.
Said ravenette stared down at him with his usual silence. At times like this, (m/n) could never tell what the captain was thinking. Was he observing on what he would do? No. Daichi was too confident in his...work. Of what he made of (m/n) (l/n).
Maybe he expected it. (s/c) fingers rubbed the knuckles, ridding the smell of blood and dirt as Daichi stood directly behind the manager. "Did they hurt you?" The manager shook his head again. "I'm fine. They didn't do much."
He could feel eyes boring into the back of his head, the captain glaring holes at the part where they pulled (m/n)'s hair. "It's good for you to know."
Know what? The manager wanted to ask but opted to stay quiet instead. He could feel Daichi leaning into his (h/c) hair, them letting the faucet run under their intertwined hands.
"No one else can hurt you." (m/n) carefully turned his head around and found black eyes staring down at him. "Not Suga and not even Asahi..." The captain muttered, his other hand gripping the manager's jaw, the latter letting out a small gasp.
"Only me. And it will stay that way as long as I'm here." He muttered, leaning so close to (m/n)'s face, the other baring a blank expression, knowing and not daring to show any sign of fear.
"Be aware and be good....I'll take care of you."
The (h/c) nodded, the grip on his jaw loosened and suddenly he was enclosed with a kiss. Daichi pressed against the manager and bit his lower lip, prompting moans as (m/n) shakily wrapped his arms around the captain's neck, his knees weak.
Both of them leaned against the sink and there was a faint sound of an ambulance siren that could barely be heard over the shaky gasps and lustful moans the manager spilled from his throat. It was wrong to love your abuser. (m/n) wouldn't call it love.
He would never care for someone like Daichi.
But he couldn't leave. There was no option for someone like him, he could only embrace and lay in the nest the third years made for him. A good first year to embrace their devilish intent.
[END SCENE]
I planned like a smut scene where daichi fucks him but im tired of writing smut tbh. Like i need inspo. But if u didnt notice daichis hand was bloodied bc he did sumth to the harassers which is why theres an ambulance in the last part.
Someone requested a sick scenario where reader gets sick and third years feel bad for him but tbh they wouldnt feel bad. Its just more of an excuse to fuck him over and ill give a very SIMPLE drabble for that bc ive delayed this way for too long
[SCENARIOS LOADING...]
(m/n) falls sick and the third years takes good care of him!
[START SCENE]
"Mmhhaa mmngg ahnn!"
(m/n) cried as he clutched onto Asahi's gakuran, his back against the wall and his legs wrapped around the ace's waist. The brunette's cock deep in him as they hid in an isolated bathroom stall, the third year pulling him in before classes were starting.
It was the norm for him. And he thought his body could adjust but he wouldn't notice he was slowly falling apart with how frequent the third years was using him for a quick fuck.
"T-Too fast! Ahn! Mmmn ahn ah ah!" His legs were shaking as Sugawara held his hips as he pounded his ass, the setter biting onto the manager's bare shoulder. The setter had whisked (m/n) away during their lunch break, him pulling the first year into the empty clubroom and bent him over the table to fuck his ass. He laughed when he found out Asahi had gotten to him first.
Daichi rarely took him during school hours or even school grounds for that matter. It was always the other two filling his ass up or suffocating his throat.
(m/n) choked as his head was pushed deeper into Asahi's crotch, his body naked as he sucked and licked at the dick while Sugawara was behind him shotgunning his bottom while grinding onto his naked butt. Saliva and precum was dripping onto the gym closet floor.
Sugawara always hold the keys and he'd use it as an excuse to stay behind, forcing (m/n) to help just for him to push him onto his knees and forced his cock into his mouth.
The manager knew his body wasn't feeling well that day. Seven rounds of sex in 8 hours was a record for him and a threesome in the mix? He went home sick and woke up with a sore throat and a burning fever.
(m/n) didn't go to school and he was glad he got to recover in his own bed but his mother suddenly barged in saying that his friends and his boyfriend were there to see him. The third years had neutral expressions when they entered his room, Sugawara easily conversing with his mother as she left the room, leaving her son alone with the monsters.
"I can't believe you actually got sick. I thought you were faking it so you could avoid me today." Sugawara grinned, sitting on the edge of (m/n)'s bed and placing his hand on the manager's forehead, pulling away and pulling out a fever plaster to paste it on the manager.
"I told you he was sick. He could barely stand when we were walking home and you thought he was faking it? You're scary, Sugawara." Asahi muttered to which the setter snapped back at him and they both argued over who had pushed (m/n) too far on yesterday's events.
Daichi ignored the two as he walked over to the bed, (m/n) could barely open his eyes, his skin hot and his head aching. He felt a hand pulling down his blanket and someone pushing his shirt up. A cold wet palm laid flat on his belly. The (h/c) squirmed but embraced the cool, his chest heaved up and down with slow breaths.
"Get better. Soon." The captain ordered. His dark eyes staring blankly at the manager. Sugawara turned to (m/n) and placed a kiss on his cheek. "You heard the captain." "Make sure to stay away from Suga."
The setter continued to yell at the ace, moving off of the bed and Daichi took the opportunity to take his place, his eyes now locking with (e/c) as he brushed his hand against (m/n)'s cheek fondly. "...I'll take care of you. I said I would." The ravenette muttered, the hand he had washed earlier trailing from his stomach to his chest, his hand under (m/n)'s shirt.
Daichi would only take him in his bed, in his room at nights after practice. Now, he was sick and laying in said bed with the captain looming over him, his eyes scanning his weak features.
(m/n) couldn't do a thing, letting the third year care for his sick body. They would come over after practice bringing homecooked meals they would make at Daichi's house. Sugawara often cleaned his body, using a wet towel to cool his warm limbs or helping him into his shower where he would- this made the manager's mom became more fond of the third years, letting them into her son's room at any time she was especially too busy to check in on her precious child.
The manager knew they were some sick fucks but he didn't expect them to go that far truly. Sometimes they would grope him, offering a quickie while mocking him by bouncing the (h/c) on their lap but Daichi was quick to stop them, especially Sugawara who was a bit too happy that (m/n) was weak in his hands, too frail to push away.
Asahi didn't do much, only going through the (h/c)'s belongings, digging through photo albums and taking some of his more personal article of clothings. Stupid pervert. He didn't even bother hiding it too. Daichi would force them to leave when it was almost midnight, him staying over and sleeping on a spare futon.
He was so attentive to the (h/c)'s needs, making sure he took his medicine and eating the required nutrition he needed. He kept his promise and (m/n) was able to recover in three days, returning to school after being deemed well enough by the captain.
Oddly enough, Sugawara and Asahi didn't pounce on him the second they met. Only ruffling his hair or hugging him and saying they were glad to see him well before leaving him alone. (m/n) thought that they finally got their senses knocked into them.
Until night arrived and (m/n)'s mother made a fatal decision to allow Daichi to check her son for another time.
"D-Daichi! I c-can't- urmff! Mmngghaa- ackk!" One of his legs were being held up as he laid on his side, his mouth full with fingers and his hole throbbing around the thick dick shoved inside him. The ravenette slowly rolled his hips, feeling (m/n) tighten around him as the manager shot cum from his penis onto the bedsheets.
He loved when the (h/c) would come on his cock, fluttering walls around his base was pleasure as he quickly thrusted into the overstimulated first year, (m/n) drooling and choking on Daichi's coarse fingers.
"Three days. You have three days to compensate." Rounds of sex to reimburse the captain. Not for the care he provided. It was just more of a reason for Daichi to fill his hole and he had warned the other two not to approach him, wanting to have his ass all to himself for the next few days.
(m/n) let the captain use his hole, his body to fulfill his lust. He wasn't sick any longer and Daichi had promised to take care of him. He could only hope the ravenette doesn't have any plans to stay around him for the long-term. Excluding the fact that they were neighbours.
[END SCENE]
I just love daichi so much rahhh. Going to see the movie next week. Remember this is the last one for karasuno so dont request for this team any longer lovies💋 If karasuno was intense just imagine the power play with shiratorizawa MUAHAHAHHAHA

dating kozume kenma headcanons - part 2
Tumblr media
masterlist
navigation
warnings: not proofread, movie and timeskip spoilers, very self indulgent
a/n: EHEHEHEHEH I LOVE MY INTROVERTED GAMER BABY | word vomit. this is just pure word vomit.
during nationals when they were away, kenma always texted you before and after a game(kinda shocking since he's dry asl)
he would be a little clingy, especially when he was sleepy since he had no filter then
but he literally like slept so late there...(THAT ONE SCENE OF HIM WAKING UP WITH BEDHEAD <3)
before their match with karasuno, he sent you a gif of a happy dancing cat(it was him trying to convey emotion)
after the match, he sent you a text that read 'i guess i'm coming home'
which made you happy he was coming back, but also sad that they lost
right when they got back home, you went over to his house to give him some congratulatory apple pie and cuddles
obviously he got a fever and was literally bedridden for a couple of days, so you had to wait a little while before seeing the poor boy
but when you did, he was still a little sick so he just clung onto you(
when he's sleepy, i headcanon he likes his hair to be played with and when you do it he just falls asleep
timeskip to the future, and its been like what, 7 years? you've moved in with him into his house, and it's pretty casual at this point
he always comes to bed late since he stays up on stream, and he ends up waking up so late
but before you go to bed, he's almost always taking a break from his stream to kiss you goodnight
sometimes if you're feeling clingy AND sleepy, he'll let you sit on his lap and sleep there while he's on stream
guys everyone writes kenma as if he's someone who's lazy as hell, and cant cook
BUT NOT ME!!! i know kenma can cook because he isn't that self-negligent, like if he moved out by himself then surely he knows how to somewhat provide for himself
he doesn't cook much because he doesn't like how much effort it takes, but when he cooks its kinda fire
you guys alternate, but its usually you cooking
i know he doesn't eat much canonly but loves seeing you in the kitchen its so domestic
when you catch him staring his lil bitch ass smirks at you and is like 'you look good in my kitchen.'
EPHASIS ON "MY KITCHEN" LIKE AODJSAOLDJASJDL
guys stop he's so cute when hes posessive
SPEAKING OF POSESSIVENESS OMG
ok now kenma's posessiveness varies from day to day
if he sees another guy with you, he doesn't rage immediately but when he sees them holding you in a way how he does? that's when he slides between you guys and takes you back
but also sometimes when you're about to go out in revealing clothes, he gets all pouty and clingy
he doesn't let go of you and looks up you with such pleading eyes(im so weak. im so weak for him omg)
guys he ALWAYS goes to pick you up himself
most likely he's going to bed by the time youre done, he can spare a couple minutes getting you
and plus i know he may not act like it, but your safety is like one of his top priorities
especially since you're the partner of a famous streamer, he does his best to make you comfortable
whether that's having you sit out of frame when he's on stream, or keeping you hidden
the media's really mean, and he'd do anything to prevent you from seeing or witnessing something hurtful just because you're dating him
he takes all the necessary precautions he knows of, and always tries to keep your identity anonymous
but when you felt comfortable enough, you slowly started to creep into his streams
at first it would just be a hand popping into frame, to you literally napping on his lap while he streamed
he told his fans that he was taken before and they thought he was lying, but since they've seen you they're amazed that he actually pulled
overall, his audience loves you and they literally see how kenma lights up when he looks at you
like his eyes are so soft and glassy and hazed with love(im gonna cry. why isn't he real. please i want him so bad)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
2nd a/n: guys this is literally not proofread this is such shit work like im not even processing these thoughts in my brain IM LITERALLY JUST WORD VOMITTING RN ok im done thank you for listening to my ted talk GOODNIGHT

Genshin men as haikyuu characters in their respective teams!
kaeya, diluc, alhaitham, kaveh, childe, albedo, aether, ayato, kazuha, itto, thoma, venti, cyno
in honor of the haikyuu movie, i shall present to you a short headcannon of genshin men and their preserved vb team in the haikyuu universe~
KARASUNO:
What makes karasuno different from other team is their team coordination. Their improvement begins from pressure, their ability to adapt towards the intimidation is amazing as it is, they are crows after all-and crows has no fierce in facing death.
Aether as Sugawara Koshi (Setter), Being a setter means that you’ll have to be the one to bring forward/push your teammates and i feel aether does the best job in this aspect.
Venti as Nishinoya Yu (Libero), Venti is somewhat a lifesaver, somebody you can depend on. Although you may or may not trust him due to how he works on “his way”. Still, if you’ve ever need him, he’ll come to your way and be there for you.
Itto as Tanaka Ryuu (Wing Spiker), both of them are hardworkers and despite both being kind of….dumb, they can be the best if they set their point into something.
Thoma as yamaguchi tadashi (middle blocker), Thoma isn’t exactly in the big picture, but he contributed a lot more than people think, just like yamaguchi. He’s not the centre of attention but he is the biggest reason why the team get along and can coordinate better.
NEKOMA:
What makes nekoma so different from other team is how they prioritise their strategy and they’re very team centralised instead of coach centralised. Like cats, they are tame in the outside but inside they are unhinged, somehow able to kill off the “untouch”.
Albedo as Kenma Kozume (setter), setting up a strategy and being the one to control the team-even giving critical notes if necessary in order to “improve” the team coordination. If that’s not albedo, i don’t know what is.
Kaeya as Kuroo Tetsuro (Middle blocker/Captain), kaeya is born with talent, physically and psychologically, he’s prepared to face such an obstacle in any strategy. He’s able to adapt easily and he can easily gain respect, he knows what to do and what he MUST do for the team.
Kazuha as Fukunaga Shohei (Wing Spiker), he’s not in the big picture of the team, neither does people know his name. But he contributed more points than the so called ACE, because he would try to improve himself and try to adapt to the strategy-he use the silence to coordinate himself better.
SHIRATORIZAWA:
What makes shiratorizawa different is how old fashioned they are. They focused more on the strong physical appearance and talent more than improvement. Eagles are known to be the peak of the food cycle, yet they can also face death, which means the peak of eagle can die anytime soon if they don’t adapt.
Diluc as Ushijima Wakatoshi (Wing Spiker/Captain), if diluc set his point into something he had wished to excel since the beginning, he will get it. He’s strong, especially with the support of his allies. Because he’s not exactly the supporter of the team, but the core. If there’s no diluc, then what is the team made of?
Childe as Satori Tendo (Middle blocker), childe’s passion is wreckage, he knew what he had to do to broke people’s pride. He has no limit. His adaptation and instinct is insane, hence he’ll be the back bone of diluc’s success.
Cyno as Tsutomu Goshiki (Wing spiker), Ambition and Skill is what cyno consists of. Ambition blinded him, but that’s also how good he is on becoming the soon to be best in the team. Cyno will (it’s a must on his dictionary) pursue his dream.
INARIZAKI:
What makes inarizaki different? This team has a total control of everything. The court and their audience, their control is as insane as it can be.
Alhaitham as suna rintarou (middle blocker), what is more suna than alhaitham. That man is the pinacle of “i’ll do whatever i want except i’m joking!! (I’m not)”. That man can analyse everybody, even the best out of the best, he plays within his ego-if he want to, he will. And he had set quite the name for himself, because he is alhaitham (duh).
Kaveh as Atsumu Miya (setter), he’s an ambitious prick, he wants to be the best due to the pride of being one of the best. He doesn’t know his limit because he’s blinded by certain boundaries in order to be somebody more than what he aspires to be.
Ayato as kita shinsuke (wing spiker/captain), if being the so called heart of the team is a role, then ayato is one to be called. He can stabilise and coordinate the team well enough, because his own skill sets upon his team. His control is his team.

"Come on, dumbass- the bus is here," Iwaizumi reached out to grab Oikawa's wrist to keep him from lingering any longer at the entrance to the gym floor.
"Give me two seconds," Oikawa spat. He swatted away his teammate's attempt to haul him from his vantage point.
Iwaizumi sucked his teeth and muttered something under his breath.
For once, Oikawa didn't pay it any mind. He had to see you spike. He had to watch you win.
The ball spun up, perfect and slow for your setter- his clammy hands clenched at the soaked number on his jersey. You leaped up for it. He froze that moment in time, your perfect form, perfect body, perfect force, all sculpted for this sport you both loved and dedicated yourselves to. It was a frame he could worship until the end of time.
You gave a brutal and strong slam, clean and cutthroat, that connected to the linoleum on the other side of the court.
"YEAAAAHHHHH!!"
The cries of the audience, your team, a double whistle, and the pounding of his own heart for you filled his ears. He couldn't hear the reinforcements Iwaizumi had sent to drag him away so they could leave.
Tumblr media
It didn't matter now.
None of them were in the mood to entertain his sensitivities, since they hadn't had as much luck as you against Karasuno.
That being said, he wasn't the only one who was happy the girl's team had managed to make it. It made their group jogging back to catch the bus just a bit less out-of-sorts.
Though his plan was to speak to you first thing that next morning about the match, it never worked that way.
You were the epitome of untouchable, surrounded by many friends and always smiling at something they said to you- he couldn't stomach the possibility of you not smiling at him the same way.
But you were magnetic; as soon as he gave up on the line he prepared for you, he would watch your perfect smile light up the room and have a brand-new, better one.
Yet, a mere, "Hey," Was all he could manage on his best days when your teams switched for practice, between his own admirers never leaving him alone, and your always-occupied attention.
He wasn't enough to catch your eye.
That alone stumped him, because he never had a problem with this before you.
There was a noisy little songbird outside the window, right next to him on the other side of the glass, practically egging him on.
His gaze flitted from the bird over to your desk for the final, innumerable time that class. The heavy head in his hand tilted, studying the way you played with your hair, in hopes to replicate it.
God, if you were his, you would never have to worry about brushing it. He'd be at your beck and call, anything you needed, he would search Heaven and Earth for it.
He sighed through his nose, hand over his mouth.
There was a pain in his eyes.
You copied the last few pieces from the textbook to your notes and brushed away some eraser marks from your desk. A steady, cute, focus on your brow.
The bell rang for lunch.
A fluttering of wings and the bird he was watching was far away now, soaring through the partly cloudy sky. He turned back to you and his heart sank.
There were already guys at your desk congratulating you on your win.
You grinned and mentioned your team's hard work, casual and cool, and took your lunch out as they walked away.
He couldn't let himself be forgotten. With a bit too much enthusiasm he stood and his chair scraped the floor, loud.
Only a few people turned to look and you were thankfully not one of them.
No time to think-- just going for it, he belted out at the side of your desk,
"I saw you win the match."
What the fuck did he just say?
You glanced up at him. He didn't mean to say that, exactly. He should've just said congrats. His face filled with struggle.
"Oh!" You wiped your mouth, "Yeah, I saw you guys walking out, I wanted to talk to you!"
He stumbled over his words, unable to think clearly enough to take a second to breathe, "Y-eah, the bus- was there--."
"The girls watched you guys, too. I'm sorry about what happened."
His face was starting to get warm, and just his luck, two of his most common groupies were stalking you with dark looks at the door. He was fumbling so bad. Of course you watched him lose.
You looked down for a moment, "That was a tough match."
In doing so, you remembered that monster serve that made you jump out of your seat.
You giggled, "Oh man, but that serve of yours!!"
His chest puffed up, filled with a newfound pride that mended every lackluster attempt he ever had at getting your attention.
"That was so fucking cool!"
Heat crept up his neck, goosebumps all over his arms so bad he had to cross them. He was blushing ear to ear.
A choked sound preceded his uneven voice, "You saw that?"
"Y-eaaah, I mean," He was making it worse already, but you were grinning up at him. How could he not keep trying to impress you?
"-They're better way better at practice, ya know."
"Oh, yeah?" An unwanted, deep voice egged on from his side.
He jumped away from Iwaizumi, whom he made plans to meet with for lunch, now standing with his arms crossed and an unimpressed brow line.
You both shared an amicable wave before he slapped a broad hand on the back of Oikawa's neck to direct him away and let you eat in peace.
It was arguably in his best interest, but Oikawa scrambled out of his grip as soon as he was in the hallway, pissed that he was abducted just as it was getting good.
"The fuck?" He snapped, rubbing the hot spot just under his hairline.
Iwaizumi, not about to tolerate his attitude like he did yesterday, rolled his eyes and shoved his hands in his pockets. He started walking towards their usual spot with a smirk that his friend couldn't see.
He called over his shoulder, "You should really tuck that, dude."
The few students in the hallway watched his back, some in amusement, some in carnal curiosity, as he panicked for a moment, faced a corner -beet red and muttering-, and did just so.

𝐃𝐞𝐛𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐁𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐥𝐞
Sugawara x fem!reader
synopsis: before graduating from Karasuno the school held a debate event between classes of A1-A4. You were picked to debate for your class A1 given 2 topics to fight about. Fortunately, you won them, you were now going up against class A4. Your opponent? Sugawara Koushi, he was a gentleman. If you had a dollar every time you heard his name pop up in a girl's mouth whether it was a 1st year or a 3rd year, you'd never have to work a day in your life. You would be lying if you said you didn't admire him too but what if he admired you more than you did him? You advance to the finals with him as your opponent. The topic? "Who is more fit to lead? Men or Women?"
cw: a bit of sexism (sorry) mostly fluff
Tumblr media
". . . and that's why women are poor leaders compared to us, men. You make things more complicated." The grey-haired boy stated with a little hesitation. Truth be told, he did not wanna finish this competition anymore because of how sexist it was.
His teammates watched him from the auditorium chairs because anyone could attend this public event if invited. You have grown to know his teammates over the past few days when you watched his debates and you weren't gonna lie. He was damn good at it.
"We are both offended and amused that you have the nerve. the temerity. . ." a small smile formed on his mouth when you used that word. ". . . to say that we women are ineffectual leaders because we are "complicated"" You finger quoted. "Men have forced women to be complicated because we have to think for you, men, too."
You could hear many people agree with your argument (mostly women) and the other half disagree, mostly men. ". . .while cooking, cleaning, and washing your clothes for you just so you and your simple brains can function." You tilted your head, giving him an innocent smile.
"You cannot survive without us." You finished with a proud smile holding your head up high. You could hear that mix of chants and boos on you again. Why were you doing this again? You wanted to graduate top of your whole class. You were already free the last 4 weeks of your 3rd year of high school. Why not use it to get extra credits, right?
"I beg to disagree. We can survive without you. You can't survive without us men." You chuckled at what he said while hearing the crowd erupt in cheers. This was getting harder than you thought. "Cause we are the ones who get tough because we know what our loss is because we don't let our emotions or our morals' purpose prevent us from taking the win, and unlike you, we think more objectively."
You could feel your face shift from victory to annoyance as he continued. "We see the bigger picture while you obsess with small details like food, hygiene, and lounging, which we never told you to do-" His hypnotizing hazel eyes stared at you. You'd be lying if you said it didn't calm you a bit because even tho you were against him, he looked at you with sorry and "I'm going to win" eyes.
"But you expect us to do it, anyway." You cut him off. "You women expect it of yourselves more than we expected of you." He bit back. "You are just as responsible for holding those gender expectations you hate." Sugawara leaned back on his podium to look at the audience who was, again, cheering. At some point, you heard his teammates cheer his name.
You nodded in defeat knowing you couldn't say anything anymore when you heard his voice again. "But why are we debating about this? One sex is no better than the other." You looked at him with furrowed eyebrows. "Men and women are complimentary. We should not be going up against each other. In fact. . . we should be together." He smiled at you, charmingly and you couldn't help but smile back. You are human after all.
"Smooth!"
You heard his teammates shout from the chairs. Well, you can't fall behind. "I agree, we should be working together." You smiled softly at him, speaking into the podium's mic.
"Smoother!"
"But that's not the point of this debate." you went back to your poker face.
"You really don't want to lose, do you?" His head tilted.
"I just don't wanna lose to you." You looked at him through your lashes.
"Smoothest!" You heard his teammates high-five each other laughing. To be honest that made you a bit happy.
"That was a great debate, Mr. Sugawara." You held your hand out. He nodded at you and watched you walk away, shaking hands with other people who were in the debate. He watched you, smiling, laughing, and God, you were gorgeous.
30 minutes later the event ended. You were walking out with your friends who gave you "nice try"s and "you did good, you know" You chuckled at their attempt to cheer you up when you heard your name behind, it was Sugawara. You told your friends they could go ahead while they teased you.
"Hi, you did great on the debate earlier." You smiled softly at him. His eyes widened at you when you smiled at him. "Wow." You hummed in confusion at what he said. "I meant- when you smiled. It's just- you smiled at me so smugly at the debate I thought you were pure evil."
"Excuse me?" Your eyebrows furrow. You didn't think the gentleman, Sugawara Koushi talked like this. "No, I- think your smile is really pretty?" He scratched the back of his head.
"So you're not sure if it's ugly or pretty?" You stand more firmly with furrowed eyebrows trying to intimidate him.
"What- I never said that." He waved his hands around.
"No, I know. I'm just messing with you." You gave that smug smile you had at the debate. He chuckled at you like he was done with your attitude. "Sorry, did I cross the line?" You asked him worriedly.
"No, not at all. Actually, I came to tell you how great you were at the debate. I almost ran out of words." You laughed softly at his statement.
"Well, you can, tomorrow at 12:00pm."
"So, a date?" His eyes sparkled.
"Sure, but for now do you wanna walk me home as our first date?" You tilted your upper body, hair falling beside your shoulders. When the boy nodded, you took him by the arm and walked off the gate of your-
"Mommy, what about the second date?" Your daughter cut you off on your story. "Tomorrow. Look at the time, it's late." You cheekily smiled at her. "But mommy I-"
"Kaori, that's enough, your mom was on the court all day fighting for good people." You heard a voice behind you. You had a good clue on who it was when you felt arms wrap around your shoulders. "Daddy, can I also be a lawyer?" Your daughter looked at your husband with eyes like the stars. "Yes, now go to sleep. You have class with me tomorrow, you know."
"Fine. ." Your daughter started settling in her bed. You and your husband bid her goodnight, slowly creeping out your daughter's door. A sigh came out of your mouth eyes closed. "Saw you on court today, thought you looked good." Your husband wraps his arms around your waist.
"Wait, you thought? So you're not sure if I looked good or not?" Your eyebrows furrow, holding his shoulders as you lean back a bit to your daughter's door.
"What- I never said that." You saw his eyes grow concerned looking to the side.
"No, I know. I'm just messing with you." You gave that smug smile you had at the debate. He scoffed at you, he was done with your attitude. "Haha" YOu laughed a little loudly at him "C'mon, let's go to bed, Mr. Sugawara" You took him by the arm and laid your head on his shoulder. "Okay, Mrs. Sugawara."
If he can debate about what to do with you before, that's not gonna work now.

Examples of Haikyuu Characters Using Formal Speech for Sarcasm (慇懃無礼)
You may have heard that there is no such thing as sarcasm/irony in Japanese, which is true if you're thinking about it from an English perspective. But a form of sarcasm/humour in Japanese that I really enjoy is polite rudeness. Basically, it's when one uses excessively formal language towards someone they usually would not. It can be seen in English to an extent as well, for example, if your friend is being overdramatic over something you did you might say, "oh my! I can see that my gracious friend is outrageously offended by my ludicrous statement! I humbly apologize for my crudeness and beg you for forgiveness!!!!!!" It's very obvious that you are being sarcastic towards your friend by overly formalizing your words like that.
There happens to be a good amount of examples used in Haikyuu of this polite rudeness which I wanted to share with you all since it's not something that's really translated in the subtitles.
Tsukishima: theres a handful of times throughout the show (especially in season 1) where Tsukishima uses formal speech in relation to Kageyama whenever his King of the Court attitude appears. It's very clear that Tsukki is using formal speech to make fun of the "King". This is something thats pretty much conveyed in the subtitles tho.
Hinata: like Tsukki, Hinata also uses formalities towards Kageyama to poke fun at him, such as when he calls him "Kageyama-kun".
Bokuto: in the scene where Bokuto, Kuroo, and Akaashi are talking to Tsukishima, Kuroo mentions that Bokuto is within the top 5 spikers in the country to which Akaashi adds on how Bokuto isn't in the top 3. In response, Bokuto says "Don't raise me up just to let me get knocked down" (subtitles), he says it in formal Japanese which adds on a sense of humour for the audience.
Miya Twins: an obvious scene is when they are fighting and Osamu sarcastically says in formal speech, "Does wittle Atsumu-kun never make a mistake?!" (subtitles). Theres a couple more examples of the twins using polite rudeness against each other throughout the Karasuno Inarizaki match as well, you just gotta listen for it.
Suna: Atsumu says, "I'm not gonna let them just keep picking up my attacks" and Suna replies, "I'm the one that actually attacked, though". He says the sentence formally in a sarcastic way since obviously it really is him that's actually doing the attacks.
I'm sure theres more examples but those are just the ones I can think of off the top of my head.

I Hate You- Oikawa Tooru
oikawa rivalry w/ fem!manager!reader
summary: you were flattered when you were chosen to do an interview about the sudden improvement of a once-flightless team, but that feeling quickly faded away when you got there and realized who was also being interviewed...
wc: 1.2k
a/n: wow, I live and breathe?? lol I am back from a big break hoping y'all are still around and hungry for a little Oikawa rivalry, lmk if you want a series. REQUESTS OPEN!
Tumblr media
(gif not mine)
There were no words to describe your initial shock when you first got the call. They really wanted to do an interview with me? Despite the fact that you're a second-year, and only the manager of the Karasuno team, you were the one they chose for a story about current Japanese boys volleyball.
It seemed like a no-brainer to say yes, but as you got ready in a little dressing room by yourself, it started to feel way too real, way too scary. The reputation of the entire team was on your shoulders, and the way you conducted yourself in this interview had to be perfect. A little monitor was mounted on the wall of the dressing room, showing you the current broadcast. When the interviewer started to transition the show and introduce a volleyball player, your stomach dropped.
Am I up already? Shit- I'm not ready-
And then you saw him walk on screen, and felt your jaw drop.
A producer spoke to you through the door, "Hey, y/n, you're on in five!"
No way.. I'm going on with him??
This only worsened your growing anxiety- given your history with Oikawa. He had tried to talk to you after Karasuno's match with them in the fall, he even tried to get your number, and he did nothing but ignore him. From what you've heard from Kageyama, he's a total jerk. And ever since his initial rejection from you, you two had been less than friendly. You had made it pretty clear you wanted nothing to do with him, but there you were, finding yourself sweating in the wings, about to go on live TV with him.
You snapped back to reality when you heard the interviewer introducing you, "And to join Oikawa is a new face to volleyball, and she seems to be a vital part of the new success of Karasuno's boys volleyball club. Please welcome y/n l/n!"
You began to walk on, nearly shaking from nerves. The small live audience cheered loudly for you, which made it even more overwhelming. You took the only spot available, on a couch next to Oikawa. He looked at you with distain. You returned the glance.
The interviewer spoke again, "Hello, y/n!"
"Hi-"
You were immediately cut off, "I know you and Oikawa have met before..."
"We certainly have," Oikawa's familiar snarky tone stung your ears. He turned towards you, "You know, when I agreed to do this with a mystery guest, I had a feeling it might be you..."
You frowned slightly, trying to keep a good image for the cameras, "I guess I'm the only surprised one, then..."
"Yes, we thought it might make a fun dynamic to hear from two...conflicting... names in volleyball," The interviewer clarified.
Ahh, so this is a set-up, you thought, They want this to be tense, might as well give them what they're here for...
"Oh, rest assured Oikawa will always give you some drama," you said, clearly getting on his nerves.
"You know, y/n's not so bad at that herself," Oikawa quickly sends a jab back at you. The audience was highly reactive to you and Oikawa, gasping at your every word to each other.
The interviewer seemed content with your bickering, though she started to direct you to a more productive conversation, "So, y/n, what do you think about the quick rise in skill we've seen in Karasuno's team? Who's behind it all?"
You smile as you give the best answer you can, "Well, our returning players are incredibly skilled and have been demonstrating quite a bit of discipline in their training, as well as our new first-years that have come in with a lot of pre-existing talent. Not to mention our new coach."
Oikawa cuts in, "Honestly, Karasuno has only been getting attention from those new first-years, you know that right?"
"Our first-years have definitely been the subject of conversation for our team, sure-" you were cut off again.
"But do you think they're really remarkable, y/n-chan? Is it worth all that hype?" Oikawa eggs you on, mocking you with his tone.
"I think they're pretty great, yeah."
Oikawa mumbles after you, unsatisfied by your response, " 'pretty great...' "
The interviewer watched you two intently in a few seconds of silence, before butting in, "How about your #10 y/n? Is he the leader of your team's success?"
"Hinata is amazing, yeah, he's real driven, but I wouldn't say he's the team leader by any means, that would have to be our captain."
She nodded her head, "Your captain, hmm? Doesn't a lot of a team's leadership come from the setter position, too?" She looked towards Oikawa, who quickly weighed in.
"It certainly does.. but it would make total sense if Karasuno's leadership was dysfunctional- with their setter.." Oikawa scowled at his own mention of Kageyama, and you felt inclined to defend your teammate.
"Our regular setter is pretty phenomenal, actually, He definitely is in charge of the on-court communication, and he does that well."
"Really?" Oikawa scoffs, "The King of the Court? Doesn't Tobio-chan upset you sometimes?"
"Upset me? No, he's a great player and he knows what he's doing-" You pause, thinking of how to turn this on him, "What, Oikawa? Are you that intimidated by him?"
"Intimidated?" He forces a laugh, "No way. He's just selfish, that's all."
"You would know about that..." you jabbed back at him.
The interviewer seemed to be eating this up from her chair, as did the audience. She kept interrogating you two with questions to make you bicker with each other for an entire hour.
It felt like eternity, sitting next to that arrogant setter and staying on your best guard to return his banter, but weirdly enough, your conversation seemed to flow pretty naturally. Once the interview had concluded, you walked off into the wings next to him, and immediately sighed with relief upon getting out of view of the cameras.
Oikawa chuckled at you, "You were nervous, weren't you?"
"uh-" you were totally caught off guard by his question.
"You'll get used to it, I'm sure."
"What are you talking about?"
"C'mon, y/n-chan," he said, in a tone so forced he almost sounded whiny, "didn't you hear the audience in there? They're totally crazy for us. They'll want more."
"Huh?"
"You'd better hold onto this," he slipped a piece of paper into your hand with his phone number scribbled onto it, "I bet you'll want it when you start getting offers for us to make appearances together, I could make a lot of money off you..." He turned and began to walk away from you.
"Oikawa-" he suddenly turned back to you. "You're not going to hear from me, ever. I hate you. Get that through your head."
"Oh sure, I hate you even more, sweetheart. You can tell me more about it on the phone," He walks away completely dismissively, chuckling to himself as if he was the funniest guy in the world.
And there you were, completely speechless, feeling completely like an imposter in your own body. You slipped the piece of paper into your pocket and walked off in the other direction, hoping with all your might that everything Oikawa said was wrong.
thank you so much for reading, does anyone want a part 2? [masterlist]

Haikyuu!!
Requested by GaurikaDutta on Wattpad
Well, the day couldn't have gone better... well, it could have, if Nishinoya wasn't eavesdropping on Asahi's conversation with his boyfriend. But, was it eavesdropping? He just took a peek at his texts with (M/n).
"Asahi-san has a boyfriend?!" Was what he yelled at the top of his lungs after there were done stretching after practice was over for the day.
Of course, the third and second years had some explaining to do, since they didn't know about Asahi's sexuality. At first, he came out as bisexual, then asexual, and he finally got over his sexuality crisis, and realized he was demisexual. He never had a gender preference anyway, and he loves (M/n) as much as his family.
But, after the little explanation, everyone wanted to meet Asahi's boyfriend, something that made the brunette a little nervous, setting in just ask about it to his boyfriend. Even if he already knew what (M/n)'s answer was going to be.
Neither of them ever realize, well they kinda did, but Asahi never explained it to the rest of the Karasuno members.
(M/n) would go to every single one of their games, he was a scary dude in the audience, no one ever sat less than three seats away from him. His tough and intimidating appearance made everyone coward away from him. But the reality couldn't have been farther from that. (M/n) always tested him after every game, whether they lost or won, to comfort him or cheer him up.
They would meet up in an empty place, usually a deserted hallway, occasionally in one of the empty bathrooms, and no one ever found out. Like they had been dating ever since they met, which was when Asahi was still a first year and (M/n) a second year. Asahi knew everyone -except the first years- would recognize him immediately once they see him.
Well, back in his home, Asahi got a call from (M/n), wondering why he suddenly stopped texting him and Asahi explained everything that has happened almost an hour ago. Obviously, as Asahi already thought, (M/n) accepted meeting the Karasuno volleyball team, a cheerful tone of voice making Asahi's heart beat faster and they talked a little more, before saying their good night's to each other and falling asleep.
The next day, Asahi told them his boyfriend was going to come later in the day, since he had to work in the morning till the afternoon. Now, that made everyone though Asahi's boyfriend was way older than him, so they were kinda nervous now.
After a long way, their everyday practice came by, and they were all getting dressed and began stretching.
(M/n) walked inside the school campus, both hands inside the pockets of his leather jacket, he saw some students leaving the building since they didn't have club activities or just weren't in a club. He walked towards the gym where the volleyball team used to practice, since he had a feeling they still got to use it, and he stood outside by the door.
He took his headphones off, letting them hang around his neck and immediately, he was able to hear the squeaky sounds of shoes against the floor, followed by yells or the sound of the volleyball hitting skin or the ground.
The sounds reminded him of last year, during his last high school match at the Winter Cup tournament. Being the ace of the basketball team made him well known around the school, but people were also scared of him, mostly because of his looks and the way he dressed, but in reality...
He was such a cinnamon roll! Like a cute golden retriever!
And yes, Asahi always told him he was really adorable when he was happy, something that, inevitably brought a huge smile to his face.
But getting out of his thoughts, he heard who he presumed was the captain calling a break before another match, and he finally decided to make his presence known.
(M/n) slid the door open, targeting everyone's eyes. Hinata and Yachi flinched at the sight of the intimidating male, while the second and third years bowed with a loud greeting.
Asahi looked at everyone with a panicked expression, muttering that they shouldn't bow and be so formal with (M/n), which made them stare at Asahi with curious looks in their eyes.
"Asahi-san... you mean... that (L/n)-senpai is..." Nishinoya slowly spoke, causing the third-year brunette to blush and scratch the back of his neck.
"Uh, y-yeah... (M/n) is my boyfriend-" not even a second after, Tanaka and Noya were standing very close to the (h/c) haired male, an aggressive expression on both of their faces.
"You better treat our Asahi-san well, senpai." Boys said, causing Daichi to sigh behind them and Sugawara to chuckle at the duo's antics.
"Yeah, senpai, we're watching you closely," (M/n) kept his serious stare on them, making them tremble as they started losing their confidence, but the male just laugh and hugged them by the shoulders.
"I'm so happy I'm finally able to meet the volleyball team!!" He cheered loudly, a playful look in his eyes as he saw the small middle blocker hiding behind a stoic black-haired setter. "Hinata-kun~!"
He yelled as he rushed towards the smaller male, who flinched and shrieked as he ran away, but (M/n) caught him pretty easily.
"There's no need to be afraid, Hinata-kun, I'm not gonna hurt you." Eventually, the orange-haired male let his intimidating senpai hold him in his arms and soon enough, he was laughing out loud to his heart's content.
"Sugawara-san," the blond walked closer to the silver-haired third-year, and he looked at Tsukishima with a gentle smile. "Could you tell me who that guy is?"
At that moment, he realized that neither of the five first years nor the couch knew who (M/n) was, so he started calling out to everyone.
"Everybody, come over for a moment, you too, (L/n)-senpai." (M/n) had a pout on his lips as he set Hinata down, walking next to Asahi and the rest of his kohais. "Alright, this is (L/n) (M/n), he's our senpai and former ace of Karasuno's basketball team."
"Hi~," (M/n) said with a wide smile while he waved his hands.
Tsukishima sweatdropped at the male's behavior, but soon, everyone was having fun getting to know their senpai, while Asahi just watched (M/n) as he got along with everyone just fine.
Yes, (M/n) might look scary and sometimes he can be a little too much to handle, but that doesn't necessarily means is a bad thing. He was extremely kind and very, very sweet.
Just look at him, he even managed to make Tsukishima chuckle at a joke he told him.

quick break from karasuno meltdown hours to talk about my favorite bits from the iwaoi flashback in s1e22:
love that this whole thing starts with iwaizumi saying he's glad that oikawa's smile is actually genuine this time. serves the two-fold purpose of reminding the audience that oikawa's better-than-you cooler-than-cool persona is just that--a persona, and also positions iwaizumi as The Guy That Sees Behind The Mask
so then the flashback is a peek behind that mask!
i love the juxtaposition of the 'i' language oikawa uses in the flashback--i have to win, i can't lose--with iwaizumi's 'we' language in his narration--we wanted to reach new heights, but we were always shut down. like, glaringly apparent that oikawa is falling into the same trap kageyama did in middle school. (except, as stated earlier, he had an iwa-chan, and kageyama did not)
'and then a genius setter swooped in to take OUR place,' iwaizumi narrates--not oikawa's, OUR. i should check the sub and see if this language is similar.
love how like. it shows that middle school oikawa was working really really hard, but it was completely unproductive work and he was making a ton of mistakes, specifically because he was still using i language--'i'm not good enough'
i'll say it again. just sticking someone on the bench without having a conversation does not work oh my god kitagawa coaches do better
completely forgot that the whole 'oikawa tried to swing on kageyama' thing happened the same day he got replaced by kageyama and then ran himself ragged practicing serves like. truly a breaking point moment and he looks so stunned after that he didn't even realize his mindset had gotten this bad. like. it is a shitty moment but also. he's in middle school have you ever been in middle school it sucks.
the culmination of 'all you ever say is me me me!' from iwaizumi as an echo to kageyama's/asahi's you can't win alone/you can't lose alone--oikawa shouldering the burden of 'not good enough' is a selfish dismissal of the strength of his team
and then! after iwaizumi's Big Speech where he says The Thing: the best team of six wins! and then oikawa pulls out the 'invincible' language as a callback to kageyama's 'when you're with me you're invincible'--literally no one can be invincible alone! it's connection with others that makes you stronger!! ah!
(but that connection does not extend to kageyama bc he's apparently the one guy that can crack the cool-guy facade. and as oikawa said earlier, a bad habit is hard to break)
i'm also really. having feelings about kageyama being a 'genius' and how that doesn't help him at all at kitagawa, and in fact breeds paranoia and distrust from everyone around him who could be helping him with his issues but that's for another post
bonus:
present oikawa: he noticed our unbreakable bond of trust
iwaizumi: we don't have that and you know it
sure, iwa-chan. sure.

actually the problem i have with the haikyuu!! criticism that is "it's not realistic that a team like karasuno could win and they shouldn't have" isn't just about the classism take (altho y'all already know that i DO believe in that wholeheartedly) it's that it just makes it look like people don't see it as a STORY y'know??? like it's not about the realism or the logistics it's about the FEELINGS it evokes in you it's about the poetry of hinata winning against giants and kageyama winning against his grief and them winning TOGETHER against all the odds stacked against them!! like. we as the audience are fed that idea from the very start!! we KNOW that it seems impossible!! we KNOW that karasuno is the unlikely underdog!! we KNOW that every time they win it's absolutely unbelievable to everyone else in the series!! AND THAT'S THE POINT!! all the other characters already think that there's no way in hell this less wealthy country-bumpkin team could ever take down the big guns!! but they do!! and it's not just because they worked hard and put their all into training it's because furudate wanted to write a story of overcoming obstacles and pursuing your passions it's because kageyama and hinata exist to show people that you CAN succeed in the face of hurt and anger and disappointment like come ON we all know that if it was serious about the realism then the story would just get lost along the way and we wouldn't have an ending even HALF as good as what we have now
haikyuu was NEVER about winning or logistics or if a play could have been realistically executed but it DEFINITELY was about teaching people something and THAT'S what we should be looking at

Still pissed about that Kamomedai match.
Not from a critical perspective.
The fact that they could've—.
No, that they would've won that match, were it not for Tsukki's cramp and Hinata not properly taking care of himself was the point, after all.
It's different to all the other huge Haikyuu matches (Seijoh 2.0, Shiratorizawa, Inarizaki etc).
The reason why the losing team's defeat stung so much was exactly because they could've won.
They could've had it. They gave it their all, and so did Karasuno, but at the end of the day, the winners played just a smidge better on that particular day.
Had it been the next day, or the day before, maybe Seijoh or Shiratorizawa or Inarizaki could've been the winners.
Exactly because these teams were all such strong contenders, and pretty evenly matched with Karasuno. (Though that's not entirely it, but that's a different conversation)
The difference is, with Kamomedai, Karasuno would've won the match.
That they could have goes unsaid.
It's more important that they would have.
And that's the point, and why this defeat stings even more than it would've if they just gave it their all and still lost.
It's not that Kamomedai overwhelmed them, or that they were just objectively better.
Had Hinata been more careful with his health, they would've won.
Self care has been a subtle, ongoing theme throughout the series, which became that much more prominent during the ball boy/nationals arc.
This loss needed to happen, for Furudate to get the point across without leaving a shadow of doubt in anyone's minds:
Taking care of oneself, eating healthy and sleeping well and taking breaks etc, is one of the most mundane, but most important, parts of being an athlete.
A message not just for the audience, but for our protagonist as well.
Personally, I find that this loss was the most meaningful one during Hinata's career.
And the lifestyle he built and maintained for himself in Brazil reflects that he's learned his lesson, and he's not planning to ever forget it.
It was just one of the things that needed to happen, and I think Furudate executed it beautifully.
Hinata's fever also happened around the same time Itachiyama's captain, Iizuna, injured his ankle.
Which highlights the difference between an unpredictable injury you couldn't have prevented, and, say, a fever that could've been avoided had you taken better care of yourself.
Besides all that, it was a good point to end it.
Quarterfinals are nothing to sneeze at.
Not to mention, the boys achieved everything they set out to accomplish.
They made it to nationals, which was the initial goal.
And they finally had the trashcan showdown, which became the second main goal after a point.
All that said, to reiterate my initial statement, I'm still pissed about that Kamomedai match.
I desperately wish that my boys advanced to the semifinals, won those too, and went onto the finals and played against Fukurodani.
Apart from another two legendary matches, we would've gotten to see an official game against Fukurodani, a school that we've been seeing for ages, a school that we've built up, one we know, and one that I was convinced we would encounter in an official match.
And I know that it wouldn't have been all that realistic to beat Ichibayashi, the tournament winners.
But even if they lost in the semifinals, we would've gotten at least one more badass match.
Yes, yes, I'm whining at this point, I know.
However, understanding, appreciating the ending we got doesn't mean that I don't also wish for the fun outcome.

All Too Well - Tooru Oikawa x Reader | Haikyuu
Is this inspired by All Too Well by Taylor Swift? Yes. Yes it is. That's my current favorite song.
Tumblr media
In middle school, Tooru Oikawa realized his dream of being the best at volleyball. He refused to believe that anyone could be better than him. In high school, he wasted no time in joining the team and worked harder than anyone. Come his second year, he started feeling comfortable with his position.
That was the year he met you.
Something about Oikawa is that when he falls for someone, he falls hard. The first year of your relationship was filled with romantic dates, constant sleepovers, and lots of PDA. He'd make sure you would always have a front row seat to every one of his games, dedicating all of his serves to you. He treated you like royalty.
The start of his third year started off the same, except now Tooru was getting recognized by professionals since he was close to graduating. He had a promising future ahead of him and he had wanted to spend it with you. However, Karasuno, a rival school, had gotten stronger since Aoba Johsai last played them. Oikawa fell into a routine of ignoring your texts, opting to train until every muscle in his body was sore and Iwaizumi had to threaten him to go home. In lieu of sleep, he would analyze Karasuno's video tapes to see their usual strategies.
If you watched the team during practice, Oikawa rarely ever smiled. His voice remained as warm as ever, but his jovial expression was replaced with a terrifying glare. The Tooru you had fallen in love with seemed to have disappeared.
After practice, the two of you would walk home together. What once was a way for Oikawa to cheerfully ramble to you alone had become him speeding past you with a quiet scowl.
You jogged to catch up with him, "Tooru."
"Yeah?" He refused to look at you or slow down.
"What's wrong? You're not as cheery as you usually are."
He sighed, "Nothing's wrong. Just stressed."
"I'm worried about you though. You've been doing nothing but practicing for days on end. You should take a break."
Oikawa finally slowed down before replying, "I can't! This is our final time to go to nationals in high school. If I let Karasuno beat us..."
"It'll be okay if you don't go to nationals! I know it'll hurt but it wouldn't be the end of the world. You're gonna go pro. You're an amazing player even if you lose."
"It wouldn't be the same! This is the last time us third years will be on the same team together!"
"They're your friends, Tooru! I'm sure they'd be fine knowing everyone gave their all in the end. Karasuno's third years probably feel the same way as you! Losing does not mean you're weak."
"Yes it does! In middle school, I was overshadowed by a kid that's now a first year on Karasuno's team. He's younger and dumber but he still stole everything from me!"
"He's a kid, Tooru! He probably looks up to you-" Before you could finish, Oikawa rolled his eyes and walked up to his house, slamming the front door closed. You tore your defeated gaze away from his house to make your way into yours.
Oikawa refused to talk to you after that day. He continued his toxic routine up until the day of the match against Karasuno. He didn't notice that you were in the audience, in the front row along with other peers cheering the team on. You tried not to stare at Tooru the whole time but found yourself constantly drifting back to him.
You witnessed the team's demeanor deflate at Karasuno's win. You gripped the rails in the stands as you saw the boys begin to tear up one by one.
As Oikawa gathered his things from the locker room, Iwaizumi pat him on the back, saying that their loss wasn't the end of the world despite how much it stung in the moment. That's exactly what you had said too. After his friend walked away, Tooru's fist weakly pounded the locker he slumped in front of.
You were right, he had realized. You were right and he had blown you off like you weren't important to him. You cared about him and he ignored you, blinded by the thought of proving his talent.
"I'm sorry." He whispered before breaking down into sobs, no one left in the room to hear him.

Once again, if you ever read, I hope you enjoy!
Part 1
To start off high school, which school will you be attending? Turns out it’s your brother’s school:
Karasuno High.
September has started, and it’s your first day of High School. You walked together with your older brother, Daichi, who’s going to leave once it’s your second year. You felt quite disappointed, for you liked hanging out with your brother. For many, that’s a special case, because there’s always the stereotypes of siblings on bad terms with each other. However, being brought up in a strict environment, you found comfort in each other. Simply put, the two of you depended on each other, and it was mutual.
Being in such an environment has taken a toll on your mental health and personality. At first, your parents were so kind to you, bringing you up like a normal child. But, once your tutoring started at the age of four, they gave you the harsh treatment. It was cruel, because you were only young, yet they threatened to disown you, just for not doing the day’s worksheets. They made you cry, hit you, abused you, changing you from a bubbly E to a “depressed” I. Yes, people had made fun of you as you got older, calling you “depressed” or “emo”. It was normally based on your attitude, the colours you wore the most, how you presented yourself. Tired of trying to prove your classmates wrong, you decided to play along to their judgements. You know the saying, ‘You are what you pretend to be’? Turns out, that was true, and you had problems changing it.
When you’re alone, talking to yourself, you’re so chatty and energetic. You make yourself as the life of the party, cheering up all these imaginary people that live inside your head. That was the consequence of being delusional. You did know it was fake, yet when else could you act so happy? It was what kept you going in hard times, so you decided to cling onto your dreams for a little longer.
Though, the extra education has certainly helped you in your studies and grades. From the start onwards, you were well-known for your brilliant mind and excellent grades. People had the impression that you were smart, and had always thought luck was on their side when you made your appearance to their team. You enjoyed that, the feeling of being admired and respected. That was the motivation to keep your grades top-notch, to stay as the model student. You wouldn’t dare stain your shining reputation. Sick? Doesn’t matter, you’ll miss out on your lessons, and you’ll miss 20% percent of your attendance. Being behind anyone annoys you, or more like scares you, because you know your parents are going to be asking questions on why you weren’t top of the class. It’s frustrating, because you give your all in lessons anyways.
So, having an opportunity to be with your brother more elated you, easing your nerves of attending this new school, a new chapter in your life. You still felt nervous, the social anxiety getting to you, but hopefully there’ll be people you could get along with, right? Despite all the names, people still liked talking to you, interacting with you like a normal person. You’re surprised how you managed to fit in, because you were quite behind in terms of trends and other popular things due to your parents restricting the apps on your phone. Remembering that you weren’t an outcast, you continued walking to your school with your brother with slight confidence. The scenery was making you forget about those kinds of situations anyway, for the breathtaking autumn leaves caught your eye. The vivid colours of orange, yellow and green made you feel calm and relaxed, enjoying the joyful splatters of paint that swirled across the blue canvas you were portrayed in. The sunshine added to the beauty, making things look so much more aesthetic.
It was just a normal school building, but knowing that this is a new start excited you. New school, new classmates, and possibly new friends. You happily strided through the school, forgetting that you needed to find your classroom. Luckily, helping you was one of Daichi’s priorities, and he pulled you by the collar before dragging you to the correct corridor. You noticed that the people on your floor weren’t that tall, until you saw a big, blue-haired giant with an orange shrimp. The contrast intimidates you, and you almost quickly shake it off.
Almost.
You, from the corner of your eye as you watched the pair argue past you, saw Daichi looking at them for a second too long. That sparked the curiosity in you, lips parting to ask a question, but that couldn’t even be asked because you, now, have reached the door of your class. Daichi checks the time, and his rushed manner gives you the impression that he had somewhere to be. He sighs, placing his hands on your shoulder, “Y/n, I know you’ll do just fine. But, if you need me, I’m on the third floor, the last classroom in the corridor. I got to go now, class is going to start. I’ll meet you after school at the gym. Good luck!” He says before fast walking through the corridor. You look at your class, First day, gotta do well. You were relieved when no one seemed to pay attention to your entrance, busy talking to one another. You scanned the room, looking for a decent empty seat and-
HANG ON, THE SEAT IN THE BACK CORNER NEXT TO THE WINDOW IS EMPTY!? You thought the people were crazy for letting such a seat be vacant. Nevertheless, you claimed the area as yours, setting out your equipment before looking outside, waiting for your teacher to come.
“Hi, um…” An unknown voice reaches out to you. You hum in acknowledgement of his presence, focusing on finishing the last bits of your notes. But honestly, if only you looked at the owner, would you have focused your attention on something so much better, so much worthwhile. He notices this, and smiles, sitting in the chair from the desk ahead, letting you finish. He knows how important studying is, being studious himself.
You continued for a minute or so, stretching your body before tidying up. You had almost forgotten the extra person, who was so damn quiet.
“I assume you’re done, Miss Sawamura?”
Finally, you snap your head at the man, and never did you think you would lay your eyes on someone so perfect. He was a beautiful mix of cute and sexy, and his voice went straight to your clothed womanhood. Not to mention that mole next the left side of his warm brown eyes, and his fluffy silver hair. His body was incredible, sneaking a glance at the unbuttoned area of his white shirt. He was everything you could’ve asked for.
“I love you.” You sighed dreamily, catching the boy off-guard.
“H-Huh, can you repeat that?” He acts innocently, knowing damn well what he heard.
“I-I said, ‘Yeah, I am.’” What a pathetic lie you thought I couldn’t even act it out properly… “But, anyways, why do you ask?”
“Oh, Daichi asked me to collect you. He’s busy with the team right now.” He answers. “By the way, I’m Koushi Sugawara. I’m the vice-captain of Karasuno, the official setter andddd your brother’s best friend!” He says proudly, boasting about all his achievements. He laughs when he sees your gleaming eyes, your figure that’s amazed by how blessed he is. “C’mon, let’s go to the gym, and there we can see Daichi.”
“HUH?!” Shouts a very offended and confused Sugawara, “WHAT DO YOU MEAN I’M NOT THE OFFICIAL SETTER ANYMORE?”.
Daichi sighs, tired by repeating the same thing, “Suga, the first-year setter is really talented. Though you have experience, he’s just…” He thinks of the right word, wary of Sugawara’s furious glare. Instead, he just leaves it like that, unfinished.
“What about me being vice-captain?” He asks agitatedly, hoping he’ll agree to that since Sugawara’s a role model after all.
“Suga, you’re almost on the same level as crazy as Nishinoya and Tanaka…”
“I’M SMART THOUGH, AND I ALWAYS BEHAVE WELL!” He reasons, hands flying about in the air.
“What you’re doing right now says otherwise. And plus, Ennoshita is a good choice too. He could actually be the vice-captain instead.” Daichi crushes Sugawara’s heart, stretching his body, unbothered by the silver boy’s sad look.
“The best friend’s bit is true…right?” The poor boy mumbles, but loud and clear enough to hear.
“I dunno.” Your brother jokes, but Sugawara took it personally. He starts being emotional, moody and hurtful to others. You thought it would be too early to do physical contact with this angel, but you couldn’t help it.
You wrap your hands around him, head on his shoulder, the two of you rocking gently as you both clung to each other. First time meeting, and already you two are acting like a loving couple. You gently pat his back as he finds purchase in the crook of your neck. The whole gym is quiet, everybody is too busy watching the scene that’s taking place before their eyes.
“Suga, you can be my best friend. My sweet Sugar…”
His ears perk up at this, a pink blush colouring his soft cheeks. He found this cute, he found you cute, and he was touched by your actions towards him. He nods his head, which is still buried in your neck, flaming hot as a result of his blushing, and hugs your waist even tighter.
“Thank you, Angel.”
“HEY, Y/N!” Nishinoya, the grade school-looking kid, who turns out to be a year older than you, shouts, running to you, “WHAT WAS THAT, ABOUT EARLIER?!”
Tanaka chimes in too in agreement, “YEAH, YOU MADE US FEEL LIKE THE SINGLE ASSES WE ARE.”
They reenact the scene -horribly- as you stood there, awkwardly watching a summary of what had happened just a few hours ago. You thought it was yesterday, for it was a midnight blue sky instead of the ombre of oranges, pinks and blues with the blazing sphere raised in the air. You circle around a nearby lamppost, distancing yourself from the herd of animals as you wait for your dearest brother to come. Checking your phone, you stare at it blankly, unsure of what to do due to boredom. Randomly, you click on the calendar app, suddenly being reminded of Suga’s birthday.
“Y/n!” Sugawara calls, waving his hand in the slightly cold night air. He wore a blue scarf and a black jacket, nose, cheeks and ears having a dash of pink. When he got closer to you, he enveloped you into his arms, pissing off Daichi.
“Ugh, enough with this ‘couple’ activity, let’s go home…” Daichi groans out.
Home. Gosh, with how perfect the day was did you forget that your parents existed. Did you forget you can’t have a boyfriend? Crushes were allowed, but not boyfriends. Your mother clearly stated you can only have a boyfriend when you’ve finished your studies. Man, and you decided to take uni, so it’ll take until after 20 years or so…
As you two linked arms under the gentle light of the mysterious moon, you continued to dread what would happen if you and Suga really got together. Because, right now, it’s more like Suga’s doing this as your best friend.
Hah, there’s no way he’ll like me, right?
Is this first love at sight?
When Sugawara first saw you, it was when you were on the stands, little you cheering your brother and his team. As Sugawara made his way to serve, a wave of panic crashed into him, losing his self-composure and staring ahead to the many people who eyed him, including you. Luckily, you managed to save him right before the referee blew the whistle for him to start:
“Sugawara-san!” You shouted, “Don’t feel scared, everyone on your side of your court is your teammates, and teammates help each other, not hate each other!”
Maybe it was at that moment did Sugawara want to stay by your side. He suddenly saw you in a different light now; just you two in a light, before an opening was seen by him.
Wait, did she just let me see the best place to serve?
As the whistle blew, Sugawara looked at you and the spot one last time, before closing his eyes and hitting the ball. He didn’t know which team got a point, for everyone was shouting. But, when he heard your voice, you became crystal clear.
“Way to go, Koushi!!” You giggle happily, clapping your hands in such a joyful manner. He was so happy you were there, but he wished you could’ve come to more games.
Hang on, can I make her come to more games?
He tries to think of a plan, before he realised it would be incredibly simplistic, now that Daichi told him an important piece of information.
“Haha, Suga! You know the girl that cheered you on? That was my sister, Y/n.”
He laughed internally for how things were going the way he liked it. If you were his sister, then he could see you more by using Daichi as an excuse. Oh, and the two boys were going to the same school: Karasuno. Knowing all this, he knew he just had to wait…just a little longer.
And now that time has come. He knew that you probably forgot him, because it was quite some time ago. However, now he’ll take every opportunity he can to spend time with you, whether it be through hanging out with you at break, giving you lunch boxes at lunch, or bringing you to the gym. Anything with you will satiate his hunger for you.
Simply put, he liked you – too much.
“Hey, we need to talk.” States the elder, sitting on your bed as you spun in your chair. He had a serious look on his face, causing you to straighten your back and look at him. He deeply exhales, “Whatever you’re doing with Suga, stop it. I won’t hesitate to tell our parents.”
That alone made you livid. You burned with such anger, so much it broke the scales. He’s even threatening you? The fuck? You sometimes had thought lowly of your brother, especially when you were fazed by wrath, but never did you expect him to be such a dick.
“How fucking dare you.” You cursed through gritted teeth, your self-control on the edge of disaster. Your knuckles turned pale-white, eyes darkened with fury as you stared at the bastard. “You know damn well how bad my life is, yet you won’t bother helping me when I see the light?”
“That light’s not supposed to be Sugawara’s – in our parents’ eyes, I mean.”
“So what, you gonna act all good and treat me like shit too?” You wouldn’t even try showing an ounce of respect at this point.
“Firstly, I don’t like the language you’re using. Secondly, I’m just trying to protect you. You know the rules, there’s no point in breaking them.” He reasons.
“Don’t protect me, not when I’ve finally found a reason to be happy.” You said coldly, staring into his soul with such emotion.
“You can’t keep that reason if our parents find out.”
“Then they can go and fuck themselves for all I care.” You said bluntly before facing your desk, touching up on some notes from class. He sighs, knowing it’s utterly pointless to try and help such a stubborn sister.
“Don’t come to me when you fall into despair. This was your choice, I was only trying to save you.”
November.
It’s the month of the Inter-High Preliminaries, where other volleyball teams fight to go to the Nationals. The team has been training hard, getting experience from practise matches. They used it well and have managed to defeat the Iron Wall of Date Tech, yet it just wasn’t enough to beat the powerhouse school: Aoba Johsai.
Kageyama, the tall, blue-haired giant, was stressed beforehand about that very match. Their setter, Oikawa, was better overall in some things, even winning the ‘Best Setter Award’. The two setters went to the same team: Kitagawa Daiichi. To Kageyama, Oikawa was a role model, a person to look up to.
Oikawa was different. Instead, he looked to Kageyama as a person to beat, to look down upon. You see, when Oikawa was the only best setter in the team, he was relied on a lot, being the control cell tower. However, his abilities started going into a declining process, affecting the team in general. So, in his eyes, who made it worse? Young Tobio Kageyama.
Kageyama had been playing volleyball in elementary school. When he joined Kitagawa Daiichi, many were surprised by his good sets. So, often, he would replace Oikawa, making the elder sit on the bench, fuming.
It drove him to just practice, practicing until he was better, until he got stronger. It led to Iwaizumi having to knock some sense into him each time, for Oikawa was overworking himself, and losing his self-control. An example of this is when Oikawa was practicing his serves, something Kageyama wished to do. Asking his elder for advice, he approached Oikawa, asking if he could teach him how to do his amazing jump serves. However, he viewed Kageyama as a monster, a monster like Ushiwaka – the ace of Shiratorizawa. So, he attempted to punch him right there and then. Why? Because he was afraid, he knew Kageyama had potential, enough to beat him.
That’s how Oikawa improved for the better. How he was able to use all that training to beat his underclassmen. He may seem cocky, but really, he’s humble. He knows his strengths and weaknesses and tries to improve. That’s how he was able to bring out the best of his players in his sets. That's right, he was always able to make his team stronger, probably from his experience of improving and understanding himself.
He’s loved by many, especially girls, but he’s never really found the one.
Until you appeared.
There: a sweet girl who isn’t like those noisy little fangirls. A humble person like himself. He grew an interest in you, and, through annoying Hinata and Kageyama, brought himself to you.
“Hello there,” He gave a flirtatious smile, “what’s your name, pretty?”
You couldn’t lie: he was handsome. That tall height, the hair, his looks - he was another beautiful boy. But, there’s a problem – what about Sugawara? He was basically your first crush, someone you would die for. Moreover, you said he was your happiness. But what about Oikawa? What about the very man who’s asking your name in such a sexy manner?
Wait, but I’m not Suga’s girlfriend, so he has no control over me.
Wrong. Sugawara believes that he can control you, and wouldn’t mind getting rid of the problem that’s blocking his way into becoming your forever. You should’ve been smarter if you wanted the poor handsome man to live, because now Sugawara’s gonna eliminate the problem – and fast.
“I’m Y/n…Y/n Sawamura.”
Ah, Sawamura as in their captain’s family name?
“Oh, are you Daichi’s sister? I never knew he had one…” His eyes drift off to the floor, before smiling and meeting yours again, “That won’t stop me from asking you out though-”
“What are you doing with my girl?” Sugawara asks coldly, eyes piercing his soul. It gave you the chills, the way Sugawara looked so scary, like he was mental. Oikawa was taken aback by this, eyes blinking in confusion,
“You have a boyfriend? Mr. Refreshing is your boyfriend?” He looks back at the two of you. You didn’t want to answer, because you didn’t really know what kind of relationship you are in with Sugawara. You guys said you were best-friends, yet you two never really acted like one without romantic feelings.
But you didn’t need to put everything on the line right now, for Sugawara brushed by him and dragged you away. That firm grip made your hand ache, and you begged for him to stop. Only until you guys got away from the crowd did he finally speak…and change. When you hissed in pain when trying to make your hand move, Sugawara got on his knees and started kissing it, saying his apologies in a chant, looking up at you with doe eyes. You’re shocked by the contrast, how could he have switched everything about him so quickly? Your bodies press as he brings you in for a hug, stroking your hair with his hand and the other rubbing your back in small circles.
“I’m so sorry, Y/n…Just don’t hang out with other guys, ok?”
Fuck. It was so calm and gentle the way he said his subtle threat. It was so calm and gentle yet those words itself choked you, making you feel trapped. It didn’t feel as good, for it was suffocating the way Sugawara wanted to be with you 24/7. You were bewildered with yourself: do you like this or hate it? You’re not pushing him away, yet it feels weird.
You hear Hinata calling both of your names, looking for you guys. You two separate yourselves from the hug, coming out of the abandoned corridor and following Hinata to the courts.
Just before the game started, Oikawa said to you,
“Hey, pretty, if I win this match, you have to go on a date with me, ok?” He didn’t even bother letting you answer, running out of the doors and joining his team.
33-31. Who were the victors? Was it the devastated team that fell silent and on the floor in despair, or the standing powerhouse team that cheered in victory of defeating the ‘wingless crows’? Oikawa smirked in your direction, knowing he’ll get a date with you.
Or so he thought.
“That bastard…” Sugawara mutters,
“I’m gonna kill him.”
“Y/n~” Oikawa waves at you as both your teams meet up with each other. The crows express their annoyance and anger to the thriving plants, and they reciprocate it back.
“Oikawa,” Daichi forces a fake smile on his face, “what makes you say my sister’s name, but less know her?” He questions, with Sugawara pressing his shoulder more firmly against yours.
“Why, we met each other. And,” His eyes look at yours, “remember the deal? Give me your number, I’ll text you when we meet again.” He rummages in his bag for his phone, while Daichi yells at him.
“WHAT DEAL DID YOU MAKE WITH MY SISTER?” He looks at you, fuming, “WHAT DEAL DID YOU MAKE WITH HIM? WHAT DO YOU MEAN ABOUT ‘MEET AGAIN’?”
Oikawa was first to take a step out of his line, going through your bag until he got your phone. Everyone just stood there, shocked by this rude awakening. After successfully obtaining your number, he winks at your team, waving his phone in the air before heading off with his teammates, the victors.
“Ah, I forgot.” He aims this directly at Sugawara,
“Beat ya to it.”
Sugawara wasn’t going to have this. He stares at the disappearing figure as he mentally foreshadowed the upcoming events very subtly,
“We’ll see who gets the last laugh, who’ll stand victorious in gaining Y/n’s love.”
“Y/n.” Daichi started, the urge to scream at you was in favour of winning, “why did Mr. Oikawa know your name, tell us about some kind of deal, and even have your number?”
You wanted to cry, overwhelmed by the events that happened in less than a day.
“Daichi, I think Y/n should stay with me.” Sugawara stated nonchalantly, as if he didn’t abuse his right as his best friend just to have you all for himself. Daichi nods in agreement, thinking he should trust Sugawara since the silver-haired boy was smart overall.
“Yeah. Y/n, you’ll stay with Sugawara when we get back to the hotel.” He gets inside of the bus as the others hop in. You sit in the window seat at the back, head pressed against the window as Sugawara sat next to you, taking sneaky glances as you look at the scenery. Finally, you shift your head onto Sugawara’s shoulder, the two of you talking as everyone on the bus fell into a deep slumber.
“Suga,” You play with his hands, “I want you to cuddle me later.”
This was so unexpected for the both of you, because you never really asked for these things. However, you felt like you needed a hug, comfort, and that only Sugawara can only provide that.
“Of course, Sugar…” He puts his chin on your head, “I’ll be the one who does these things to you,” His hand strokes your face as you try to fall asleep,
“I’ll be the one you only gonna need.”
It was a good few hours on the bus before you guys reached the hotel. Everyone stands outside, yawning in fatigue after a long and tiring day. You cling onto Sugawara for support, to which he willingly helps as Mr. Takeda gives out his speech.
“You all did well. Just because you didn’t win doesn’t mean you weren’t good.” He was about to continue before Kageyama cut him off.
“But we weren’t good enough. Us losing proves that.”
Sugawara whispers a ‘Wait for me for a few seconds, Y/n.’ as he helps you stand up, before marching over to Kageyama with annoyance.
“Stop being negative! That’s what makes us feel bad. We did our best, and it’s better to lose proudly because of how hard we fought rather than not giving our all. You need to understand that this isn’t the last, and that there are many opportunities! All we need is to rest, reflect and get ready to improve. Stop dwelling over the sad stuff and focus on what to do next!”
Kageyama was about to resume his degrading speech, but Sugawara prevented him from doing so.
“Negativity….Be gone!” He jabs Kageyama in the chest, earning a pained yelp from the official setter. Everyone laughs at this, with Asahi adding, “Yep, I know how that feels like, Kageyama..” to the fun. The team settled down inside, eating a hearty meal despite crying all over again, and, now, prepared to go to sleep. You shared a room with Sugawara, plopping down next to him as you gave him a big hug. The two of you stayed like that until your phone vibrated, holding a message.
“I really wanna see you again, but I wanna make things special. I know it doesn’t seem like it, but it will be my first ever date, and so I wanna make it memorable. Meet me at 7pm at this hill on Christmas Day. See you, pretty.”
“He wants you on such a nice day, huh…” Sugawara sighs, “Do you want to go?”
“I kind of need to though,”
He smiles, “I’ll make sure you won’t have to.”
“Really?” You were shocked and confused, how could he?
“Mhm,” He pulls you into a hug again, “you’ll never have to see him,
 ever again.”
December 25th
Date (Meeting) with Oikawa.
You stared at the reminder for the day, feeling quite nervous about…everything. This was your first date, yet you wished it could’ve been with someone you felt close to, someone who felt like a boyfriend. Oikawa was just a victorious gambler, winning the grand prize of taking you out. He did seem quite handsome, but that was pretty much it for his first impression.
Ignoring the upcoming event, you go downstairs to eat lunch, surprised that Sugawara was there. He might have given off your entrance to Daichi with his eyes, and you wished you stayed upstairs just for a little longer. You swear you could’ve passed out right there and then when you saw Daichi’s hell-like figure, his anger spreading throughout him like flames. The way you couldn’t see his eyes, how you couldn’t even hear him breathe; it all terrified you, leaving you in a petrified state as you forgot how to breathe yourself.
Suddenly, you were in a world of black.
[Now playing: Lucifer – Enhypen ]
You gasp, taking a deep breath as you wake up, realising you were back in your room. Making sure you weren’t in a dream, you check your phone – 20:13.
Geez, I’ve been knocked out for this long?
Feeling thirsty, you get out to get a drink, before the feeling that you’ve forgotten about something haunts you.
What is today?
You check your phone again, December 25th – Christmas. But what could you have forgotten? Was it you didn’t text your friends with merry greetings, give them the presents, or eat a Christmas meal? It was bothering you, until you focused on the time. Time; only then did it hit you: you were supposed to meet up with Oikawa. Checking the messages app, you press on his contact, shocked when you haven’t received a message. Hearing the frightened screams of your mother, you rush downstairs, listening to the TV as your family panics.
“Good evening. Police have sent warnings to the people of the Miyagi Prefecture in particular to watch out as Aoba Johsai Setter, Tooru Oikawa, was found dead near a hill today. Many are surprised by the sudden death, and experts have said that this was an act of murder. Investigations are taking place as they try to find the murderer responsible for the murder. This has brought devastation to everyone as they try to indigest the news.
This was the case of the Christmas Day Murder.
Tooru Oikawa, may you rest in peace.”
Without knowing, you cry as you felt an immense feeling of guilt, pity and regretfor the tragic death of someone who was genuinely nice. You wished you met up with him, gave him his prize, because maybe, just maybe then he would have lived to see another day.
“Oikawa…” You whimper in despair, “I’m so sorry…” You kneel as pictures and videos of himself are played on the screen, regret evident with the crystal tears that cried for him.
Ah, how good that felt!
Wipes himself clean as he, too, watches the news. He cackles, “GUESS WHO GOT THE LAST LAUGH NOW, OIKAWA.” He closes his eyes while grinning, taking himself back to that moment…
[ Now playing: My Love Mine All Mine – Mitski ]
Shit, I hope I won’t be late! He hoped, driving to the hill as fast as he could. He was so excited, occasionally checking his face every now and then, jumping out of his car and running up only to be met with the natural world. His joyous smile quickly faded as he looked around, sadly finding out you haven’t arrived yet. He sighs in disappointment, lips in a pout as he felt that he got here so fast for nothing – that he wanted, at least. Maybe he shouldn’t have come at all, so that he could have a chance to avoid the Harbinger of Bad News.
Where’s Y/n? I miss her so much…
Hearing the sound of cracking twigs, he spins around almost immediately, your name slipping past his lips as he beamed. Yet, nothing was in his view. Without warning, he got strangled from behind, the owner of the arms that choked Oikawa still unknown, and slowly cut off his air supply.
The fuck!? How could someone have gotten behind me so fast?
As the victim rolls his eyes back to his skull, his limbs start to weaken, giving up on fighting as he stands between the lines of life and death. Seeing that he was nearly as dead, the host grabs his knife, stabbing Oikawa’s body repeatedly until he was drained of blood, and when the stabber would be covered in the red ‘poison’. Looking at the bloody and scarred dead body that lay helplessly on the floor, he gave a very loud laugh, cutting away bits of his hair with his knife to keep as a trophy.
Walking away from the crime scene, he hums a song to commemorate the achievement:
“‘Cause my love is mine, all mine…”
“Y/n, why are you crying…” Daichi asks through sniffles, having a congested nose due to his endless release of tears.
“The fact he was all alone…all alone while waiting just for me…Oh, I feel so horrible. I shouldn’t have been so judgemental of him, of his actions.”
“I guess that was the price of overreacting…I think I got ahead of myself. I’m sorry, Y/n,” He looks up at the ceiling to gesture his apology to Heaven, “I’m sorry, Oikawa. You were a great captain, teammate, setter, and person as a whole. I’ll dedicate my plays to you.” He pats you on the back before heading to his room.
“This was TV Asahi, good night.”
Commercial came on, and so you switched off the electronic as you made your way to your bedroom, sitting at your desk. Your mind was just full of Oikawa, and you wanted to do something for him. Since you enjoyed drawing, you took out your pencil case and a sheet of paper as you drew the man himself. Due to never really having a normal meetup with him, you talked to the drawing as if it was Oikawa, secretly wishing he was in your room right now, whether it be as a living human or conscious ghost.
It went on for hours, staring at the finished product before shedding one final tear of the day. It was nearly midnight, so you bid drawing Oikawa goodnight, tucking yourself in your bed covers as you attempted to go to sleep.
[Now playing: Rises the Moon – Liana Flores ]
Do it for Oikawa…Do it for Oikawa…
Is this what guilt does to people? It haunts them? Does it manipulate them into thinking it was their fault? It made it hard to fall asleep, because he was supposed to wake up into another day too.
This wasn’t what Sugawara wanted, and he wouldn’t accept this outcome. As he looked at your restless figure through the hidden camera he placed when lying you in bed earlier, he slammed his hand on the table, messing up his hair in frustration as he saw that you didn’t check your phone. He sent you text messages, one asking if he could come over to comfort you, but unsuccessfully couldn’t make it to your bed, by your side.
He touches the screen, hand touching your pixelated figure as he wished you were in his arms, sleeping soundly under the moonlight. Don’t mistake Sugawara as a vicious, manipulative killer. He just loves you so much he yearns to have the exact same amount back. The thought of you caring for someone gave him the impression that he hasn’t got 100%. Therefore, he resorts to insane methods, such as death, to make you have one less person to care about. He just wants to experience the full package of you all for himself. For him, that isn’t selfish at all. Rather, he views it as a committed relationship between the two parties.
If it weren’t for any third parties, you would get a lover boy who just solely wants to make you happy. No death, violence, blood, but daisies and a refreshing breeze in your lives.
They say that you needed a traumatic backstory if you ever became a monster, yet why didn’t he have one? His childhood was full of laughter and joy, as if he was blessed with the sunshine forever shining down on him. Why and how did his moon cover his sun will be left in mystery, but if it happened because of you, it could be because of love. A weird, deadly, but beautiful love.
After sunny days, when the sun disappears from the sky,
Rises the moon…

Y/n: Please come over.
You stare at your glowing white phone screen in the dark. Falling asleep seemed like a challenge, still disturbed the news of today. Having shivers down your spine, you needed warmth from someone, like Sugawara.
Since waiting seemed to take a long period of time, your heavy lids start to come at a close. However, the last thing you see won’t be an empty space on the bed, because, just on cue, Sugawara makes it to your bedroom window, which you lazily unlocked.
“Sorry to keep you waiting, Sugar.” He snuggles up beside you, arms around your body as he strokes your hair.
“Suga…
What are we?
You try to keep yourself awake as you share your thoughts, “It’s just…the way we act to each other, what we’re doing right now, the nicknames…everyone who passes by us would think we were a couple.”
“Were we not?”
Wait, so for the past few months, we weren’t best friends?
“Y/n, I thought you would’ve known by now. I thought you liked me too.”
Taking your hands in his, he confesses with his genuine love he has for you,
“You know, you make me sing songs all about you. Here’s one I hope you understand,
He looks at the feminine moon before diving his gaze to you,
My Angel, The Sun,
Won’t you find me
Loving, Attractive,
Sweet like honey?
Because all I ever really felt
Was bliss sent from the heavens above,
And that bliss was you.
I never really understood
What made me be so drawn to you
I just may just be, a little mad
In love with you, my obsession with you
Defied all others, even if they say ‘I love you to the moon,’
Because mine may not even exist
In this universe that may have a limit.
Darling, I just want to give you the best
Because you deserve happiness.
If they say, ‘I want you too,’
It got so scared because I don’t want to
Lose you by these ugly men
I can treat you better
All you need to do is put your trust in me
I promise I’ll give you magic.
I’m a Lucifer
But don’t worry, I won’t take away your wings.
You can go up to heaven
Just make sure you fly your way back to me,
I promise you, I’ll be all you need.
My love.”
A tear of affection escapes your weary eyes as you hear the heart of Sugawara through his words. Simple, but powerful that wins your feelings.
“I love you too, dearest Koushi.” You say just as you press your lips against his in a passionate kiss. Nothing sexual, nothing for pleasure, just pure love that the two of you hold for each other. Though you wished the minutes lasted for hours, your bodies couldn’t handle a huge amount of time without breathing, and heavy pants heat the room. You untangle your hand from his, putting one on his face as you traced over his facial features, resting it on his cheek once you felt satisfied. He looks at you from above, taking in your image as if it was his last time seeing you. You both felt that being in each other’s embrace forever was enough, and you two wouldn’t ever complain.
And that’s how you cuddled in bed with the murderer, who made sure to rid himself of Oikawa’s blood when taking a quick, celebratory shower. He found it cute how you never thought about the possibility of him being the killer that’s rising in the trending searches, clinging onto his body with a series of emotions, but mostly to seek comfort.
Poor Oikawa, if only the two lovebirds had made their feelings clear to each other the man would have possibly lived.
But, perhaps it was the death of Oikawa that caused a slight disturbance in your smooth flowing relationship.
Y/n, why must I chase you again when I did this for love?
You’re lucky, because I can wait for what will be mine, always,
My dearest Y/n, my sweet angel. You’re all mine.
