I actually have a lot to say about this CD but I also have to hold back on a lot because I’m working on something else, and I’d rather save my thoughts for that. BTW my thoughts here are kind of unpolished.

Spoilers ahead for Momochi’s Headliner CD (not the Veronica side). 

Track 3 Days

At the end of this track kano brings up Momochi’s birthday because of the profile update for Veronica. Momochi tells her that September 20 is the birthday of “Momochi from Veronica,” not him. And his actual birthday is still about six months away. Kano keeps talking about the birth date and he gets upset because it seems like she cares more about Veronica and “Momochi from Veronica” than him. So he has her say his actual birthday and when she does he tells her, "that's right. That day that you know is the birthday of the me in front of you. Veronica's momochi is not me. I'm never putting on that act ever again. that new song that you've been so excited for is never releasing. no matter how long you wait or look forward to it, veronica's momochi is nowhere in this world. I'm just... me. Veronica is over now." (ty mmc-veronica for letting me add ur tl of what mmc says!)

Track 4 長雨

Kano wakes up in the middle of the night and goes to the balcony and sees Momochi crying. Momochi denies that he’s crying and says it’s just the rain. But he explains that he’s out there because he had a bad dream. This was a dream he used to have every day when he was younger, and he hadn’t gotten it in years, so he thought it was finally over. But it continues to haunt him even now. It’s then revealed that Momochi has a younger (half) brother who was spoiled by his family. Here it’s also revealed that kano and Momochi lived near each other, so she must be aware that his younger brother was spoiled. Momochi makes it clear here that he hates his younger brother, and he doesn’t really understand why his younger brother is so attached to him and looks up to him when Momochi was just randomly introduced one day as his older brother. His younger brother started a band in their hometown, and he told Momochi about it. Momochi comments that to him, music is suffocating, but his younger brother sees it as some kind of joke. He plays like 2 seconds of his brother’s song before stopping it. Momochi tells kano that he’ll quit music because he would rather die than do the same thing his brother does. He also tells kano that his brother, Veronica and even her are just his way of killing time. Kano tells Momochi to sing. He refuses, so instead, she starts singing. He calls her singing bad and tells her to stop and then he sings instead. When he’s done singing, he says that he’ll keep doing music and stay in Veronica, but just until he finds something more pleasing than singing. He then grabs kano and holds her against the railing of the balcony. He tells her she has to stay by his side and to keep listening to his singing as a way of holding herself responsible. It starts raining again and despite Momochi holding her against the railing, she’s smiling and happy. Track ends with Momochi telling her to cling to him and they kiss. 

Track 5 winding road 

While at a restaurant with kano, the table next to them is celebrating a birthday, which annoys Momochi since he hates his birthday and just wants to forget it. Then, as a reward for being good, Momochi decides to tell kano what his dream was. He tells her that he used to dream of it every day in high school, and it was him as a child sitting alone in the corner of a mold-smelling room, hugging his knees and waiting for his mom to come back on his birthday. That was the entire dream and Momochi hates that dream because it is just a reminder of the promise his mom made. She promised him that she would celebrate his birthday, but she never did, despite him being her only son and only family. He kept believing that promise year after year, even though it never came true until she finally just disappeared for good. He then reveals that the day his mom left him is the same day as kano’s birthday. Kano says that his profile is just full of lies then. But Momochi says that it isn’t because Momochi’s Veronica did start on September 20th and that he hates the fake act he puts on, which is why his profile says the thing he dislikes is himself. Momochi feels like kano is pitying him for living this way, but he tells her that it was his decision to put on the mask of being a good person and that he’s living in the moment. And that he’ll keep on living doing whatever he wants. The CD ends with him blocking his younger brother’s number and telling kano that she should keep doing her best to not be abandoned by him. 

I was very scared of this CD. After what happened on Judah’s CD (spoilers for his cd), with the writers just introducing the fact that before judahkano, there was someone else important in Judah’s life. I know it made a lot of warms upset because it wasn’t clear whether this special person was an ex-girlfriend or just a friend… And apparently in this CD, judahkano can suddenly read sheet music/understand music production despite that never being mentioned before? And I’ve seen other people comment on how it feels weird that only now are some of the girlfriends getting backstories… But I did have some hope because the day Momochi’s CD was released I read over some reviews from Japanese fans, and it didn’t seem as bad as I thought it would be. Of course, my expectations for this CD have been lowered, but I did go into it hopefully based on the reviews I read.

Honestly, I don’t HATE the way this CD played out but I also don't love it and without fail this my least favorite CD. I am conflicted about how I feel about Momochi having a younger brother. It just goes against the way I thought Momochi’s family was structured. But when I really think about it, the inclusion of a younger brother does actually answer one huge question I had with Momochi’s Evolve CD. In that CD he gets a call from a family member that his dad had died, and I always wondered WHO was calling him. Based on this reveal, I’m pretty sure it was his younger brother who called him. This new information and the fact that his mother never celebrated his birthday is making me rethink the way I view Momochi’s childhood in general. But like I said in the beginning, I’m not going to go in depth on that right now, since I’m working on something else that will address how I feel. That aside, this CD really isn’t too far off from how Momochi usually acts but at the same time it does feel off...It's hard to fully explain in words. The way kano acts is also off… Suddenly she’s so obsessed with Veronica, which is just kind of strange to me. She’s always been invested in Veronica, but on this CD, she does seem really adamant about bringing up Veronica. It’s weird. She's literally never brought up before how she's bothered by the fact that Veronica's Momochi is different from the real Momochi but here she's extremely focused on Veronica and how Momochi put a fake birthday on his profile. It's also extremely strange how she just starts singing to try and convince Momochi to keep making music. It is like her to want Momochi to keep singing but the way the writers went about her doing it is just weird. She has literally never sang before when Momochi said he would leave Veronica but here she just randomly sings?? There was a better way to go about her convincing Momochi to keep making music. I am very relieved that this CD didn’t go in depth with how Momochi and kano met. I’m satisfied enough knowing they lived close to each other and that they’re dating now. I don’t need to know more than that. I do like the fact that the day Momochi’s mom died is the same day as kano’s birthday. It’s oddly satisfying to me! And I didn’t write about it here but I did really enjoy the donut scene in the third track!

But overall I just don't really understand why this drama CD was made. Unlimited ended things very nicely and it felt like the ending point... While this CD wasn't the worst thing they could've done with Momochi's character, I just wish they had left it at that instead of introducing new people into his life and things like that.

this is very self explanatory imo…. Some are more design notes than others but otherwise, yes, theyre a bunch of detective characters blended together. That’s the tl;dr.

Besides that, this is where their harmless shell comes from. They play it close to their chest, don’t like flaunting any of their business, but they’re nosy about everyone else’s. They’re polite and nice enough, but most people get a weird feeling from them, like they’re being disingenuous. They’re suspicious but they haven’t done anything, so everyone is kinda awkward when interacting. Yuu does recognize this, too.

The sara choice was last minute, and without spoilers, there’s a specific aspect of sara that yuu has.

okay, fine, I did just take all of the white haired characters and mush them into one guy with every ailment under the sun. Sue me.

it feels excessive putting komaeda and dantes since they’re more design related now lmao…. Gin has changed A LOT since the beginning. He’s lost a lot of the more unhinged traits and traded them for…being depressed. a lot of his personality makes sense when seeing this. he’s very dry, detached, aloof, what have you, but there’s something beneath the layers of pain and suffering. What exactly? Couldn’t tell you.

Sara is on his as well, but for different reasons. He’s a reluctant MC (not that sara is, but it’s not like she loves it), lives in his own head, but has a lot of big bro energy, especially towards people younger than him. He cares a lot more than he lets on. He also has a bestie he’d do anything for. Not at all coincidentally, Joe is on masaru’s chart lol.

i don't want to write an essay on it but man the yorukura ending (the last 3-4 eps in general but the ending especially) was soo disappointing, the show really just took a turn after mahiru/kano fight and i do not care for this turn. the writers really said let's center the show around how these 4 girls create and inspire each other but then added a bunch of random characters that also apparently had to have conclusions and take up screentime. the way they dealt with Kano's mom and especially Kano's relationship with her was just wild. also ep 12 just felt... poorly made? like the amount of still shots or characters sitting and not moving much while talking was huge, it felt like they ran out of money at the end. idk ill have to collect my thoughts but tl;dr go watch girls band cry a superior anime girls band show of 2024

Im going to ramble, this is just my opinion

I made a post somewhere about why I dislike Seto x Marry and the main reason is because it would imply Marry is a higher priority to Seto than his family because she's his girlfriend and not because she's needs the extra support/Seto is generally emotionally mature.

Someone said they ppl really do prioritize their girlfriends over their siblings and while I don't necessarily disagree, I think in the case of the mekakushi trio, it's an exception because their relationship doesn't seem to be traditional siblings, but closer.

My point is I find it very difficult to believe that if Seto, Kano, and Kido didn't happen to become legal family, they wouldn't be found family anyway. Like theyre interrelated in more ways than one, both fundamentally and personally. Fundamentally in the sense they all have eye abilities, and personally for the following reasons.

Just about everything about their childhood points the three of them as a trio from the start. They're assigned to the same room, they're all outcasted, their room is collectively referred to as "the monster house", specifically the collection of three of them. Their personalities bounce of each other, and they clearly stick together by choice from the start. Like Kido often got annoyed and mean to Seto and Kano, but why didn't she just try to find other friends?

Like, they're a trio. Like, between them and the rest of the gang, they're a subgroup within the group. Now, Marry is very distinctively an outliner. I don't mean this in a mean way per se, but you know. She's different from the rest of the gang, she's a medusa and has the queen snake, and over is 100 years old etc etc. like she inherently cannot connect with the tightknit trio in a fundamental sense the same way Seto, Kano, and Kido automatically connect with each other.

And of course, Seto, Kano, and Kido ARE family. But my point is theyre very distinctively (found) family, regardless whether or not theyre legally family. In other words, their dynamic oozed sibling/close knit vibes from the very beginning.

Regardless, the trio grew up together and share a sister (as in, Ayano) and further trauma of their new mom's death. In certain routes, (the second manga route namely) Marry IS a sister to the trio and Ayano so i do appreciate in certain routes Marry grows up with the trio too. But again, she's fundamentally 'different' and Marry and Seto connect with each other (as shown in Shounen Brave) more than Kido and Kano do with her. So my point is Seto, Kido, and Kano and nonetheless a distinct subgroup that excludes Marry. (Jeez, that sounded mean)

To be clear, yes, the mekakushi dan are very very close (family levels of close) to each other. But it'd be wrong to say some of them aren't as close as others to certain people. It's hardly a drastic difference (or I'd like to think so anyway lol) but I find it hard to believe Seto wouldnt be at least mildly closer to his siblings than Marry.

Anyway I rambled. I'll paste the original post I made I'm referring to

Why I Dislike Seto X Marry

So this isn't meant to be a dogmatic or aggressive post at all! Just a friendly and civil debate at most! This is just my opinion, that's what I'm trying to say :)

So yeah, I dislike Seto x Marry and... TL;DR: it's mainly because it trivializes their friendship. That's probably not clear so I'll explain.

1. Seto is depicted as a very emotionally mature, perceptive, empathetic kind of person. He wasn't like that as a kid so, logically, Seto has put in a lot of effort to better himself and become as emotionally intelligent as he is. And that can be proven by how gentle and caring he is to Marry.

However, if you're under the impression Marry and Seto are together, then it negates Seto's self-betterment because it's implying all of Seto's actions towards Marry that showcase his emotional maturity were influenced by romance and he might've not acted the same way if he didn't happen to have feelings for her.

In other words, Seto has put a lot of effort into bettering himself. To imply that some of his best showcases of it were based on feelings outside of his control contradicts his self-improvement and negates his integrity.

2. Seto is undeniably more active in Marry's life than Kido's or Kano's. To be more specific, we see him interact with Marry more often than Kido or Kano. For example, in the anime when Momo wakes up at the Mekakushi hideout and screams bloody murder, Seto immediately goes to make sure Marry is okay. Of course, you could argue it's because Marry (in this example, Marry literally collapsed but I'm talking generally) is sensitive and needs more support.

That kind of thing happens quite a few times. For another example, when the terrorist attack occurs: Seto gives more attention to Marry than his siblings. And it's true this can all be attributed to Marry needing the extra support and reassurance more than Kido or Kano. I mean, we always see Marry being sensitive and timid so ofc she's gonna need to be comforted more than Kano or Kido who are characteristically tough.

Going back to Seto generally being more active in Marry's life than Kido's and Kano's, Seto has always been depicted as a caring person. Seto has always been keyed up to have been a lot like Marry, especially in Shounen Brave and even Imagination Forest. So it's totally understandable for Seto to genuinely care about Marry's well-being and the well-being of anyone who isn't okay, such as Kano.

But, if Seto and Marry are together, then the vibe goes from "Seto wants to help out someone in need of help" to "Seto prioritizes his girlfriend over his family."

And, you know... given the family drama in the trio, it's pretty gross if Seto prioritizes A GIRLFRIEND over his remaining siblings. Marry being a higher priority because she's sensitive VS Marry being a higher priority because she's his girlfriend is... you know, a big difference. I know Seto x Marry doesn't automatically mean Seto gains that kind of thought process, but I prefer to disregard that possibility entirely. I like to think Seto helps out Marry because he's a nice person, not because he has an ulterior motive.

In other words, Seto x Marry implies Seto is more active in Marry's life than his remaining family's lives because of romance, and not because Seto is a genuinely nice person.

3. Also, technically Marry is like 140 while Seto is like 16. Not the most creative factor I guess but I figured I should mention it lol. Also, when Seto dies, won't Marry keep living and that'd be kinda sad for her… isn't that what created the daze lol. A human dating a medusa…

This episode was, quite a lot, I think. In a way that'll be self-evident to anyone watching. I enjoyed it, I think? Although like, hmm.

The big thing is that Mahiru's gonna take on the sundolls gig, Kano is obviously upset, and there is a very dramatic argument wherein Kano says some shit she obviously doesn't mean, but Mahiru takes it to heart anyway because she's barely got any self-confidence as is, you know how it goes.

I will say Rie Takahashi's performance here is near-instantaneously legendary, I've seen quite a lot of her roles and I don't think I've ever heard her channel this much raw anger. It was fucking incredible. Kano's sounded pretty great the whole show anyway but that scene alone shoots her up to best performance of the year potentially.

But the scene - and by extension the episode up to this point - felt odd for me, because it's entirely contingent on having framed Yukine Hayakawa as something of a genius manipulator. Like she always knows exactly what the right thing to say is to get people to bend to her whims, to the point where Mahiru agreed to do the sundolls gig without even realising it - they literally skip past her saying "yes" directly to suggest that's how strongly she was coerced. And I think they just didn't go hard enough with this, really. She basically just gives fairly simple compliments to people and apparently that works. Mahiru's got mixed feelings anyway, I don't think it's unreasonable that she could be tempted over to this, but it's such a tame and unshowy execution of this plot idea that the incredibly dramatic fallout it results in feels a little mismatched. Doubly so because Mahiru's pretty insistent on talking to Kano about it first and then just doesn't - she was manipulated that hard. They should've just gone harder is my tl;dr.

I'm happy enough with the fallout itself though, and I am excited to see how it resolves - certainly this is the most hooked Jellyfish has had me for a while now. We shall see what happens.

And before I forget to mention it, they showed Kano punching the other sundolls girl, and it was based as hell. Epic!

my 21 vbros rant

This is clearly cobbled together as i had way more i wanted to say, but i can't be assed to edit my writeup. Maybe youll see some of these ideas and frustrations about s6/s7 in a later essay. Feel free to leave me anon hate about putting a 9 paragraph rant on your tl. Fish out

I have a lot of feelings abt 21 vbros's ego death because thats like. All he's known his entire life. Just this world of fun and games and shit, and once that comes crumbling down once, then twice, and like. I think ironically his character development being shunted off to the side is a hilarious parallel to nerd-dom and otakus in general

After having to actually face reality and stop dicking around, he ends up spending a ridiculous amount of time devoting himself further to being a henchman. physically, on the outside, he becomes almost unrecognizable and obsessed with revenge- yet his obsession with somehow proving that manliness by having sex with women falls short, because he can't understand relationships. (Or whateverthefuck the monarch and drgf have going on, anyways). In other words, while he might be more tough and physically aggressive he hasn't matured beyond that same childishness (in the commentaries.. they were going to have a gag where he stares at drgfs tits and flashbacks to a bunch of other girls he liked as a teenager. Which is ..stupid but speaks for how inexperienced he is). Like he still talks about girls that hugged him and made eye contact years ago.

im not going to excuse the weird sexist stuff he did in s4 though. I think some of it shifts the focus away from "awkward dude" to "fucking creep" territory and a lot of it wasn't rlly needed

But then after the s4 bit he steps away to do his own thing, but doesn't really get how. Whatever he tries to do on his own just falls to pieces because he's still obsessed with being part of a cool team, one that couldn't care less about him. He ends up crawling back to the Monarch, who he's been obsessed with his entire life*, back into the same rut of being a henchman. Slightly different now that there's only 3 of them.

*hammer shifts between calling 21's obsession with the monarch vaguely father-figure like, noting he grew up without a dad, but then also contrasting it with drgf's sexual interest in the monarch, and how they both 'fall in love' in their own ways. dr girlfriend's love being pity and romance and 21's being blind devotion

s5/s6 is kind of weird because you can see the consequences of the past seasons on monarch/21's relationship. (Fuck this post is getting long! Ill have to write it in essay form later). Hammer describes it in the artbook as this sort of, abusive buddy movie relationship. Where 21 feels used and manipulated but can't do shit about it. He wrote up the blue morpho plan, after all. He thought it was cool to assasinate, but then gets all bummed out about doing the dirty work and burying the bodies. He still can't bring himself to reconcile that "cool" image of himself as Kano, mowing through enemies in a cool car, and that of himself as a lackey. Of watching his boss fuck his hot wife in the living room meters away. He still glamorizes his life even as the cracks obviously show through, in all 3 of the monarchtrio relationships. he expresses some guilt over the whole situation, and it would have been really interesting to see what happened after he was found out as the instigator of the morpho shit.

BUT THEN

THEY JUST DON'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT

LIKE YOU'D THINK DR. GIRLFRIEND WOULD BE A LITTLE MORE UPSET THAT HER HUSBAND AND ... MANSERVANT JUST WENT OUT AND SLAUGHTERED MOST OF HER COWORKERS ILLEGALLY

But no. She just covers it up, that i understand , and nary a word is shared between them about the season-long arc. (I could write another essay about this too but that's for later). She's fine with it, because she loves the monarch, she's mrs. Wife, she moves on.

Even if the monarch jeopardized her career and possibly her life as well, doing something selfish and illegal that was completely unnecessary.

ANYWAYS this is getting way too long

But then post-s7, after both dr girlfriend and 21 express doubt over their choice in careers, after they're continuously compared as parallels/ foils to each other- they were brought into this bullshit world of larp-bureaucracy and henching and arching, and they love it, but it's starting to stress them out, they both get hard reset back to status quo by the movie. Dr Girlfriend worried about her marriage falling apart? 21 expressing remorse for his actions? Nah. Let's have them both give huge speeches about how great their lives are and how much they love their jobs! Don't even think about the irony of a woman groomed by her college professor to be a perfect trophy wife saying she "chose her station in life". Why even bother setting up all these threads of regret, burnout, remorse, if you're going to have these characters regress back to s2-era mentality?

Then again dr. Gf's arcs were never perfectly written. I just wish they did more with her as a character and her insecurities and regrets too...

This is stupid. But yeah 21 trying to escape from henching and find his own station in life, rebounding every time he tries to leave or quit, eventually ending at "i love my life and job" despite clear plot notes showing otherwise? Perfect analogy to the american nerd/otaku. Brushing off any flaws or worries in favor of being a loyal consumer.

HOKAY! 👏 First off, Tengen's an asshole. Just pure asshole. I have an extreme love hate relationship with how I look at him. Because on one hand, he's a massive douche who tried to kidnap several girls for the mission instead of just going "hey can you help me with this" like a normal person, and then he practically degraded Zenitsu when trying to get a house to take him in while he was dressed as a girl. But on the other hand, it's heartwarming how he treated his wives and showed them he cared deeply about them through simple gestures and softened his extremely rough personality, showing that is indeed trying to be a good, strong husband....only to turn around and start screeching for Inosuke and Zenitsu to worship him after he protected a few girls. Like, bro, why you so dickish yet still a family man? YOU ARE CONFLICTING MY FEELINGS STOP THAT!! Secondly, this is more humorous than anything, Makio, Suma and Hinatsuru act like Inosuke, Zenitsu and Tanjiro, respectively. Makio acts like Inoseke, Suma acts like Zenitsu, and Hinatsuru acts like Tanjiro. Respectively. Suma is cowardly but still fights, Makio is strong and hot headed, and Hinatsuru is strong, level-headed but beats herself up mentally if she fails at a given task. I honestly theorize that after getting to know the boys for a minute, Uzui was freaked out internally at how similar these teenagers were to his beloved wives. Minus Zenitsu's meltdowns over Tengen being a handsome dude with three wives, I will touch on these meltdowns in another point. But I do feel like Uzui was disturbed for a moment after getting to know the boys, which I cackle about because holy shit, that would fuck with his head. Which he deserves because bro, holy shit, why are you such a jerk to your subordinates, that is how you end up on the pyre soaked with sake and FIRE. Thirdly, Gyutaro. Oh. MY GOD, this pond scum haired bastard. First off, congrats to him for being a teensy bit more tolerable than Dak in my opinion. It's not much but it's better than being a whiny bitch focused only on how pretty one is all because the boss said that ya looked pretty literally just to bait you into blind loyalty. The downside, is that Gyutaro is a an EVEN WORSE ZENITSU. Remember those meltdowns, yeah this guy's worse. Way worse. This mother fucker is not only VISUALLY unappealing to me, he is croaky AND whiny. Crying and moaning over how handsome Uzui was and how he had no issues with women. Like, Gyu, sorry that you're literally the epitome of oversized twink on reddit, please just stop being a more violent Zenitsu, you are not helping your case. And while you're at it, MUZZLE YOUR WHINY ASS SISTER. tl;dr: Uzui is an asshole but still a family man, uzui was disturbed at how these three kanoe act like his wives, Daki's a whiny brat, and Gyutaro is just violent pond scum Zenitsu. Maraming kumpanya na inapplyan ko non pero wala pa din hanggang sa itong call center na 'to ang tumawag sa akin.

Nung una, ayoko pa kasi Call center eh. Noong mga panahon na yon, nananatili pa di yung bad image ng call center. Nabigyan ng negative na connotation.

Kaya hesitant ako pero nahiya din ako dahil ilang buwan na akong walang work.

Kinabukasan, ininterview ako. English dapat. Muntik na akong palabasin nung interviewer dahil mahilig ako mag bitiw ng "po" at "opo" na hindi dapat dahil english ang required na gamitin.

Awa ng Diyos. Natanggap naman.

Nagyoyosi at umiinom na ako college palang. Kaya kinutuban na ako na sigurado, pag pasok ko dito sa industriyang 'to, puro bisyo nalang ako.

Sa loob ng isang buwan na training, every weekends lasing kami ng mga co-trainees ko. Minsan, sa office na kami natutulog dahil mga lasing. Di nahuhuli kasi dun din kami naliligo.

Nag migrate yung account. Nalipat ako ng Team. Halos lagi ko kaaway yung bago kong TL every time na coaching namin.

Nag open ng panibagong LOB, nalipat na naman ako ng bagonh Team, bagong TL.

Voice account. Umay. Ayoko sa voice dahil ayoko naririnig sa telepono ang mga kano. Mga entitled. Mga Karen.

Sa loob ng isang taon na yon, masasabi kong malaki ang improvement ko. Consistent ang performance ko. Isa ako sa mga naghahatak ng scores ng team ko. Yes. Salamat sa TL ko. Chill lang pero marami kang matututunan.

7th month sa account na yun, magreresign na sana amo dahil nga ayaw ko sa voice account. Nalaman ng boss ng kaibigan ko na manager sa isang chat support account.

Nandun yung mga kasamahan ko before ako malipat sa voice.

First month palang, nagulat sila sa performance ko. Ibang-iba sa pagkakilala nila.

2nd month, 3rd month. Panalo scores ko.

Nag eexpand yung program, kinakailangan ng SME (subject matter expert), pinag aapply ako kaso nahihiya ako that time dahil alam ng mga tao na dati di kagandahan ang scores ko pero sila pa ag eencourage dahil sa current performance ko
