Seeing this ordinarily well composed man, get flustered and go into panic mode is everything to me.

in the beginning of the show, kang ji yun can't seem to understand why he took a year off work instead of focusing on his career and now, she is the one encouraging him to stay with this daughter (work can come later)
in the beginning of the show, she is notorious for forgetting to eat, mi-ae or eun-ho have to remind her to eat, yet in this episode she was the one who got him a meal in case he forgot
in the beginning of the show, kang ji yun is very calculative (not a bad thing), always relying on cold hard facts, yet we see her be confident in ms. jo because she believes in her
the growth this episode was insane

LOVE SCOUT IS NAILING THE SUBTLE GROWN-UP ROMANCE
6 episodes down, and LoveScout is holding strong. For a show that’s so chill in its vibes, I am trying to understand why I am watching every scene with intense attention. The script is not exceptional; the story is not unique, and it’s not trope-free either. It all works together though - It’s essentially back-to-the-basic two people slowly falling in love plot. There is physical awareness, mutual respect and casual discovery of each other’s personalities.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Neither have perfect lives, but they are fully realized individuals, which makes it even more interesting. I love to see two otherwise confident adults stumbling into love and how it colors their world. Han Ji-Min & Lee Jun-Hyuk bring so much softness to their characters, and just their scenes together are full of chemistry (not the ‘lets-get-a-room’ type but ‘I-can’t’-take-my-eyes-off-you-and-you-so-get-me type).
Tumblr media
Am a little on the fence on the recruitment angle, not sure if this field is as glamorous or cutthroat. I am enjoying the discussions about talent, skill and finding the right candidate. Understanding what’s between the lines on the resume. Having hired people in my career, all of those discussions resonate.
The only thing nagging me is the implied upcoming love complications - the second leads affections for the leads are not really convincing and I feel like unnecessary drama is going to take away from a perfectly good love story.

Love Scout (2025) Episode 1-2 review
I wasn't okay when I found out that Lee Jun Hyuk played another romance drama because it has been so looong. Anyway, here is my review for the first two episodes.
This is an office romance drama where the stereotypes are switched between the female lead and male lead. The male lead as "the perfect secretary" and the female lead as "the cool and perfectionist CEO". I love it.
CEO Kang is introduced as a perfect CEO but bad at everything else. She can remember hardly anything from outside of her work, barely eat, barely sleep. She has a temper and nitpicking in everything. Deep inside, she is broken and burrying her pain with work.
Secretary Yu Eun Ho is first introduced as a hardworker person who got relentlessly bullied in his workplace because simply he put his daughter as priority more than his work. He is good-natured, patient, quick learner and fatally handsome. He has his own share of problems (regarding his daughter, mostly) but he is a strong (single) dad who is going to do anything for his daughter.
The first introduction of the CEO Kang and Yu Eun Ho was simply, a mess. It was realistically a mess. There is not unrealistic quirky funny first meet, but what happened between them were understandable. With Yu Eun Ho messed up CEO Kang's work and vice versa, but it happened because they have different values in life.
What I really like from this drama is how quite realistic the plot woven out. Kdramas tend to be quirky and unrealistic in many ways. Not that this drama doesn't have it, but how the slow burn between the two main characters aren't as unrealistic as other romcoms.
I love that the Yu Eun Ho isn't overly prideful like the usual male leads. He learned his mistake and put effort to be better. He is such a quick-learner, it is almost scary, but it is good that we get to see the process of how he become "the perfect secretary".
CEO Kang is also a really good and realistic FL. I love that despite her dislikeness toward Eun Ho, she doesn't try to bully him like how Eun Ho's previous boss did. She has a tough exterior because of her dark past, but she doesn't abuse her authority to her employees just because she can. If she does, it is regarding work, not because she venting out her sour mood. And again, it is good to see her not being overly prideful (her dislikesness toward Eun Ho is justified) and actually started to acknowledge him.
The romance is there, sometimes maybe a bit out of place (the slow motion scene and sudden zooming in) because these two characters shouldn't have any feeling for each other first. I think it will be better to pace it slower as slow burn rather than forcing them to have sexual tension with each other randomly. But, other than that, I have no complaint.
Oh one more thing. I love how so many people swooning at Eun Ho, because... believe it or not, in other dramas, Lee Jun Hyuk is mostly treated as an average man (which is unbelieveable with Korea's beauty standard). In real life, people swoon at him, so it is so fresh and funny to finally see it in his drama.

Guys there's a new kdrama in town to obsess about and you know I'm going to do it. The kdrama is *drum roll* LOVE SCOUT.
I'm so hooked by this Kdrama. A female CEO with a male secretary? SIGN ME THE FUCK UP. I absolutely love the dynamics between and how their tension and trust gradually builds over time. I love how Eunho doesn't magically win her approval on the first day. I love how Eunho just does his work without expecting anything. I love how Jiyun is so smart. The way she cares about people is so subtle. She's not the kind to give you kind words but she'll make you get your shit together. And I absolutely love how Eunho takes care of her without asking her to change any aspect of who she is. He meets her where she works and because of the kind of person she is, she meets him where he is.
Because guys, Jiyun is the kind of person who has built a career in investing in people. She's a headhunter. If you show her what you are capable of, no one is more loyal to you than her. That's why I think it's such a good part on the writers' choice to show Eunho making those decisions and meeting her where she is which creates the space for her to trust him, for her to believe that he's worth her time and energy. That's why I love kdramas so much. Their characters so fully fleshed out and you see THEM in their subtleties.
Also Eunho is such a good dad I will cry. Eunho is literally for Eldest independent daughters with daddy issues who want to be cared for but won't ask for love and affection and care and I'm in love.

I fear he may have unknowingly contributed to the reason her inner child is broken, but I also feel that him and his relationship with Byeol is going to heal her inner child.
