Kanato: …Haa. Eu estava gostando desse tempinho sozinho apenas com o silêncio. Mas agora ele esta arruinado.

Yui : K-kanato-Kun… Então você estava aqui. Estava escuro então eu achei que não tinha ninguém aqui.

Kanato : Eu posso ver muito bem no escuro, então não tem o porque das luzes ficarem acessas.

Yui : Entendi. Deve ser conveniente ser um vampiro as vezes!

Kanato : Por favor, não assuma que somos iguais a vocês humanos inferiores.

Yui : …Sinto muito. Mas é um pouco inconveniente pra mim… Será que eu poderia ligar as luzes?

Kanato : Nesse caso, por que você não vai pra outro lugar?

Yui : Mas se eu não fechar as janelas, o cômodo inteiro vai ficar gelado…

Kanato : Eu estava admirando a vista. Por que você acharia que eu permitiria que você fechasse elas?

Yui : Ah… é mesmo? Você gosta da chuva?

Kanato : …Se você não tem nada pra fazer aqui, então eu peço que vá embora. Você é irritante.

Yui: (Nossa… ele me ignorou completamente)

Bem… eu tenho os meus motivos para estar aqui…

Kanato : Nesse caso, porque você simplesmente não diz os seus motivos ao invés de ficar fazendo perguntas desnecessárias?

Yui : C-certo. Hm… quando eu acordei, eu encontrei esse uniforme escolar que eu nunca vi antes pendurado na porta do meu quarto. Você sabe o que é isso, Kanato-kun?

Kanato : Não é obvio? Você se meteria em encrenca sem um uniforme.

Yui : Eh? Em encrenca…? Então é isso? Uma nova escola…?

Kanato : Shuu já tomou conta de toda a papelada. Nós vamos para a escola juntos de carro, então, por favor, se lembre da rota.

Ja que nós vamos atender a mesma escola, é obvio que se trata de uma escola noturna. Por favor, tome cuidado com a sua rotina de sono.

Yui : Eh? Uma escola noturna?

Kanato : Isso mesmo. Eu não tinha mencionado isso?

Yui : Ninguem me disse isso!

Kanato : Entendi. Bem, eu acabei de te dizer, então acho que esta tudo bem.

Yui : (Eeeh?! Já não é um pouco tarde demais?)

Kanato : Tem algum problema?

Yui : N-não…

(Haa… eles já arranjaram tudo, então eu acho que não tenho outra escolha)

(A minha antiga escola ficava na cidade vizinha, então daria muito trabalho se eu continuasse nela.)

Kanato : Se você não tem mais nada pra fazer aqui, então por favor vá embora.

Yui : Não precisa ser tão frio. Você não acha que essa é uma grande oportunidade pra gente conversar um pouco mais?

Kanato : Conversar?

Yui : Sim! Eu acho que nós dois vamos nos dar muito bem.

Kanato : Como?

Yui : Parece que você toma conta do Senhor Ursinho muito bem. E eu acho que pessoas que gostam de bichinhos de pelúcia são incapacitadas de serem ruins.

Kanato : Hm— é mesmo?

Yui : Ele é muito fofinho. Qual o nome dele?

Kanato: …Teddy.

Yui : Entendi! É um prazer te conhecer, Teddy!

Kanato : Você poderia não falar com ele de uma forma tão casual?

Yui : Eh…?

Kanato : Eu sou a única companhia que ele precisa… Certo, Teddy?

Yui : Entendi…

Kanato : Bem, você já esta satisfeita? Por favor, me deixe em paz agora.

Yui : Você não está com frio? Eu vou trazer alguma coisa quentinha pra você beber.

Kanato : Que enxerida…

Yui : Perdão pela demo— Huh? Você ligou as luzes pra mim?

Kanato : A imagem de você tropeçando e derrubando a bebida passou pela minha cabeça.

Yui : Eu não acho que eu seja tão desastrada assim mas… muito obrigada! De qualquer forma, aqui está, Kanato-kun! Está quente então tome cuidado.

Kanato : Muito obrigado.

Yui : (Nada melhor do que um delicioso e quente copo de chá de gengibre quando está frio!)

Kanato : Eu não queria beber isso.

— Ele derrama a bebida nas mãos da Yui.

Kanato : Você me escolheu, não é? Nesse caso, não é óbvio que você deveria querer conhecer as minhas preferencias?

Kanato : Isso mesmo. Eu gosto de coisas doces. Por isso que eu odeio coisas amargas como chá de gengibre. Você entendeu agora?

Kanato : …Huh? Você vai me responder? Você, uma humana patética? Vai responder pra mim?

Yui : (Eu não posso! … Eu não sei o porque, mas Kanato-kun parece realmente assustador agora.)

Ryuuto: I was beginning to wonder who left that there.

Yui: W-Wha…!

ー Ryuuto appears beside Yui. ー

Oh! Uhm… Ryuuto-san, wasn’t it?

Ryuuto: That is me, yes. It is a good thing you came when you did, I was just thinking how helpful an extra pair of hands would be.

You see, I happen to be on cleaning duty for the art rooms, tonight. However, I need to move a few canvases, here, around first.

artists i associate to the diabolik lovers characters

this is gonna be a long post since i absolutely LOVE talking about music. you may take this as a music recommendations post lol. also check my DL playlists out if you want to! 💗

SHU — WITHIN TEMPTATION

let's start with some nice symphonic metal! it's pretty obvious since shu likes classical music. he's relatively calm (maybe too much) but there's a storm inside of him: his double side fits this band a lot imo. moreover, within temptation are powerful but also ethereal, so even though they're "heavy" i think he would give a chance to them :D he would occasionally cover their songs on violin if he feels like it.

REIJI — APOCALYPTICA

staying on the symphonic metal side, we have apocalyptica. this band is so peculiar since it's only formed by three cellos and drums, but i can assure you they're metal lmao. they're neat, polished, elegant and mature: all of these are basic reiji traits! (shu likes them too but he listens to them secretly lol)

AYATO — PARAMORE / HALESTORM

here he comes. my lil punk boi. i think about too many artists when it comes to ayato, cause honestly just every pop punk artist does it for me, but early paramore music gives me HUGE teen emo vibes (both angsty and romantic) that represent ayato so well!! i already stated it in my rocker!ayato headcanons post, but he would blast the RIOT! album at every hour of the day.

regarding halestorm, they represent his "darker" side. they're heavier and more aggressively free-spirited. now tell me if he wouldn't sing Love Bites (So Do I) to yui "jokingly" lol.

KANATO — THE BIRTHDAY MASSACRE

how could i NOT associate kanato with the band that basically gave birth to the creepy cute genre, the birthday massacre? their particular goth/industrial sound blending with the vocalist chibi's cute, almost ethereal voice gives so many kanato vibes!! not to mention that the official color of the band is purple lmao. he'd find their album covers very aesthetic, i'm sure of it :D and i also think his fav album would be Violet, the creepiest of them all.

LAITO — LADY GAGA / THE PRETTY RECKLESS

basically laito's two personalities lmao. lady gaga doesn't need any introductions: her provocative and sexy persona shocked everyone and basically all of her songs could potentially be in laito's sex playlist.

the pretty reckless are also indeed sexy, but sexy-depressed??? sexy-angsty?? some of their songs are about embracing one's "dark" side, some others are about dealing with depression (especially in their latest works). i like how they both use the "sexy" façade while actually having more to offer. considering how much laito is broken inside, their music fits so well.

SUBARU — BRING ME THE HORIZON

i'll keep saying this: emo music isn't enough for this guy. this dude listens to metalcore and whatever is heavier than emo pop punk. i actually had issues with picking a band for him cause most of them are casual listens to me but!!! in the end i chose bring me the horizon. angsty emo. pure rage. that's simply subaru for you! sometimes he would sing to their songs in his room but never admit it lol.

RUKI — HIM

honestly, this guy would love gothic rock. i just know it. HIM is the perfect band for him! their dark, elegant, kinda sad sound reminds me of him a lot. and the lyrics too!! they're really poetic, mostly about love and death with a few mentions to eden (pun intended?); the vocalist ville valo often takes inspiration for his lyrics from the books he reads! ruki would definitely dedicate Vampire Heart to yui btw.

KOU — AVRIL LAVIGNE / ICON FOR HIRE

LISTEN. i've been headcanoning this ever since my first DL post ever but kou would be a huge avril lavigne fan. it would mostly represent his frivolous idol persona, but also some of what he hides underneath.

his realest and deepest side is represented by icon for hire. they're heavier, aggressive and talk a lot about sensitive topics. kou has one of the worst pasts among the DL characters and has dealt with pretty much everything going from depression, to abuse, to drug addiction, to suicidal tendencies. i think he'd find some sort of comfort in their songs.

YUMA — P.O.D.

i always pictured yuma as a hip-hop kinda guy, so i think he would like nu metal. being part of the angry and bothered trio with ayato and subaru, he's relatively the calmest one but that means nothing since we're in DL lol. p.o.d.'s passive-aggressive style reminds me of him so much and i swear i ALWAYS think about him when i listen to Youth of the Nation, it's like it talks about him and his brothers specifically.

AZUSA — EVANESCENCE

there are two types of emo: the angry emo and the sad emo. azusa obviously belongs to the second one. i can't really associate him to one genre in particular, it just depends on the ~vibes~, but i chose evanescence for him cause their lowkey eerie, slow style fits azusa a lot. fear of abandonment and selflessness are some of the themes they've covered and Lithium is the song that makes me think about azusa the most.

CARLA — NIGHTWISH

carla has that gothic royal-ish attitude that reminds of the first nightwish era (with tarja turunen as vocalist). i mostly tend to associate the deep, elegant lyrical vocals with carla's deep voice lol. it's just a matter of ~vibes~ again :D

SHIN — FROM FIRST TO LAST

this little shit would only listen to post-hardcore. nothing reminds me of shin more than a cringy "i'm angy >:(" music genre. i actually do enjoy some post-hardcore and from first to last is the exception. i think shin would fit especially in the Dead Trees era, aka FFTL's villain arc™: very silly, angsty and full of villanous vibes but more mature than their previous works.

KINO — AMARANTHE

gamer boi coming through with electronic metal!! amaranthe's futuristic mix of edm and metal + their in-your-face attitude is a perfect match with kino. PvP is THE kino song. the music, the lyrics, the game concept just suit him so well!! slay.

Just a few hours ago, Laito rushed into my room with an unlabeled bottle. It was only a matter of minutes before it was emptied between me and the triplets. It was mostly me that hogged the bottle, anyway... I wasn't sure what it was, but it had certainly been fermenting for quite some time...

Mystic: ( Gods, I needed this... I thought I was gonna go insane. )

Mystic sprawls over the sofa as he plops an arm over his eyes.

Ayato: Hah. You sick now?

Mystic: Fuckin' sick of hearin' ya talk. That's what I am.

Ayato: You...! Tsk, I bring you something good to share and this is how you're treating me.

Laito: It was me that brought it to him—

Ayato: It was still my idea!

Kanato: Sigh... I'd call him embarrassing, but it is becoming down right pitiful.

Mystic: ... ... ...

Ayato: ...? Did the bastard fall asleep?

Laito: Looks like it?

Ayato: Oi, Kanato. Nudge him up a bit.

Kanato: Why should I?

Laito: Last time he left me with a bruised nose for a week! Do you know how embarrassing it was to have to walk around school like that?!

Ayato: I still think it was hilarious.

Kanato: So, I ask again, why should I wake him up?

Ayato: ... Hm? Ah, it's just you.

Ruki: What are you three doing here?

Mystic: ... ...!

Mystic flinches. It goes unnoticed.

Ruki: Mystic? What is the matter with him?

Kanato: He's drunk.

Laito: He grabbed the bottle and wouldn't let go!

Ayato: What's the matter with ya?

Ruki leaves. Mystic slides his arm off his face and opens his eyes.

Laito: Ah. He's alive.

Ayato: Barely, it seems.

Mystic: ... Sigh...

Mystic stands. He downs the remaining wine and puts down his glass. He begins walking away. His stance doesn't appear like that of a drunk individual.

Ayato: Oi, where’re ya headed now?

Garments are discarded. I feel Ruki’s hands wander across my skin. They caress every place they please, bringing comfort and anxiety all at once. The coldness of his touch lingers with an odd warmth. Every nerve of mine desires him with an ache I wasn’t aware was there. His words, as much as they are meant to subdue me, ripple every heartbeat. This man will shatter every part of my being. Engrave himself into it. ——So, let him. Crawl under my skin. Scratch at the itch that has been taunting me since the first moment I laid eyes upon you.

Mystic nearly tears the sheets with his fingers. His body sways to the rhythm of Ruki’s vicious thrusts.

There is a short pause from Ruki. He rests his forehead against Mystic's back. He listens to Mystic's quiet sobs and broken breathes. The heat blinds him momentarily.

The endless night is lost through the liquor in my veins and the aching pleasure brought upon me by the Vampire. Ruki's sweet nothings were but intelligible echoes at the back of my mind. Sakamaki Brothers Jealousy HC’s

Shū:

• He wouldn’t be as outward with his jealousy, if anything it’d be subdued.

• But if he is jealous, you wouldn’t know it.

• If there’s one thing he’s good at, it’s feigning ignorance and placing a wall.

• Canonically in the HDB and MB Anthropology Manga, Shū gets jealous by stupid things, and is in a sense, comical with it.

• He wouldn’t get fussy like Kanato or Ayato.

• More so annoyed that he’s finding himself attached to someone at this level again.

• All of the boys have a certain level of possessiveness, so it’s not shocking if Shū displays his in lethargic and apathetic fashion.

• He values those close to him, so he wouldn’t want to give away what’s his so quickly. That’s where a lot of the motivation towards being jealous can come from.

Reiji:

• Definitely stern and set with it.

• He takes his jealousy seriously, and wouldn’t want to find himself jealous over anything ‘stupid’ or ‘over the top.’

• Reiji will 100% pull his S/O aside and confront them head on about what bothers him.

• Although, at times he can choose to let it linger, waiting for his S/O to figure out what’s bothering him themselves.

• Almost like a game if anything, all at his S/O’s expense.

• He has no problem with punishing his S/O and blaming them for any unwanted advances or attention being made at them.

• His jealousy is more so triggered by Shū and anything to do with him.

• It sends him into a bit of a frenzy, since it’s all linked to his underlying inferiority complex. Which results in his own diminution of his own talents, which can come off as borderline masochistic.

Ayato:

• You’d know right off the bat if this man was jealous.

• He makes no attempt at concealing his true feelings when it comes to his S/O.

• If he’s upset, don’t be shocked when he does take certain things into his own hands.

• That being, if his S/O is being flirted with in front of him, he has no problem with exhibiting violence to show he possesses someone.

• Ayato is all about possession, and is easily one of the most possessive characters.

• So if he thinks his placement is being threatened, he will react in earnest.

• His jealousy can border the lines of unhealthy and obsessive.

• He’d try his best to resist the urge of marking his prey to showcase his property, but at the end of the day, what good would it do if not even his prey can see the faults?

Kanato:

• Easily one of the most explosive individuals to come into contact with.

• You’re threatening his place in his S/O’s life? It’s like alarms and warning bells going off in his mind.

• Due to his extreme mental instability and heavily implied bipolar disorder, he will switch up instantly if Kanato feels attacked or under heavy scrutiny.

• He has no problem with playing pouty and creating a fuss to appeal towards the ‘lolita’ and ‘cutesy’ side he likes to portray to the outside world.

• But in private? He’s a blamer or victim blamer 100%

• He will pin it all on his S/O, even if the circumstances were unavoidable towards his S/O. Kanato does not care.

• He will get physical. As seen within his routes, he does have temperament issues.

• So even if he does subdue himself from having any physical reactions, his S/O is in no way getting out of the heavy verbal abuse coming their way.

Laito:

• Laito is known to put up a wall, almost like Shū, in terms of concealing his true feelings.

• If he’s jealous, it’ll be in the subtext that one would have to take out to fully understand him.

• Laito is someone who, when jealous, wouldn’t want to admit it.

• With his horrible track record with others, he has a slight fear towards true love and the feelings that come with it.

• So for him being jealous, it would subconsciously tear him apart more than his S/O, if anything. That is, if he was to pursue punishment.

• He’d be sure to make his usual perverse remarks, doing anything to not seek out of the ordinary.

• As seen within his routes, he can switch whenever, keeping the Player and Yui on their toes. Expect that for his S/O.

• He’d keep more of an eye on his S/O, lest he becomes left in the past of his own ghosts and worries. It’ll all come in a full circle with Laito, with whatever he does, he knows to expect it to come back at him. Almost like karma.

Subaru:

• Subaru is quite aggressive. Just as an individual and how he can come off at times with his reactions and over the top emotional moments.

• So he wouldn’t take to it kindly with being placed in a position where he’s to be the jealous one.

• There’s two ways it can go. Either he’s flustered and embarrassed about feeling this type of way for his S/O, or he’s viscerally upset at the notion.

• As an individual, it depends on the situation and if he were to get physical with the person/object that is creating this feeling of jealousy within him.

• He’d subconsciously resent himself for feeling these emotions.

• As if someone like him didn’t have the right to even love, much less feel the need to have ownership over someone who didn’t feel the same way back.

• If he’s questioned about it by his S/O, he’d either respond with anger directed towards them for allowing it, or simply shut off and ignore their complaints/queries.

• Subaru tries to be complicit, but with his internal inferiority complex and hatred towards himself, it acts as a conduit for his conflicting feelings.

out of every character in diabolik lover shu sakamaki is the best. I know ayato is rejet poster boy BUT it is a reason why shu sakamaki is the number 1 in all the rankings like throughout his whole route I laugh so much

“Shu roasts the heroine the most!”, I get that it’s rude but his insults are actually funny?? A bunch of people will like him for being brutally honest or a jerk because it’s literally a game for players with masochistic fantasies. They WANT to be roasted by good-looking men. That’s the point.

“Shu is lazy and stupid, he’s the only one who failed his school year”, genuine question: If you were an immortal creature that doesn’t need food or sleep to survive, would you still care about grades? Besides, he’s really smart.

“Shu doesn’t care about Yuma, he just feels guilty”, in LE he sacrificed himself for him and reincarnated merely because he wished to meet Yuma again and get on well with him in another life—

Reiji:

“He hurt Shu and Yuma”, well yeah but he was shown plenty of times regretting it and trying to fix things. Stop reminding this to Reiji stans because that conflict is already closed.

“He is so mean in other routes”, obviously?? If you don’t teach him how to love, he won’t suddenly act nice towards anyone.

Without him Yui would fail her tests and the Sakamaki household would be in chaos.

Subaru:

Also, why are so many people reducing his character to Kou and/or Yui—? He’s much more than that and has his own interests, struggles, likes, dislikes, and so on.

“He’s irrelevant”; Diabolik Lovers has 13 love interests, they can’t make everyone extremely important to the general plot. Just enjoy a character as it is, it’s not that hard.

Ruki:

The cat jokes were funny when the Meow Meow Vampire art came out but MOVE ON. I hate that scene and Ruki was in the wrong but come on now, that’s not even the worst thing he has done and MB happened in 2013.

I understand not liking Ruki as a person, because he’s mostly not a good one, but this doesn’t mean he’s not a good character.

“Ruki deserved what happened to him in the past because he was cruel towards everyone”; while I agree that Karma hit him, I wouldn’t say any child really deserves to go through that. He was just a spoiled brat, who most likely wasn’t taught by his parents about modesty or kindness.

Kou:

“He was so cruel in MB 😣���, and HE HAD DEVELOPMENT! He’s not the same anymore, nobody is.

“He overreacts”, sometimes he’s not in the wrong and has all rights to be angry.

Kou isn’t afraid of going against Ruki, even if he’s the brother he admires the most, as long as he knows that what Ruki is doing isn’t good.

Yuma:

“He beat Yui up in the MB bad ending!😡😡”, it’s a bad ending for a reason, lol.

Pretty reminder that Yuma always tries to help others with Kou and Azusa, and was even willing to save the ghouls in LE.

“Yuma doesn’t care about Shu”, did we play the same game or…?

Azusa:

“Azusa is so horrible, he threw Teddy in the fire!”; and he only did it to save Yui, it was not intentional.

While not all his actions are good, keep in mind that he never means any harm and is overall such a sweet guy.

“He is too clingy”; I know that might not be everyone’s cup of tea but is it really worth hating a character just for wanting affection?

The Tsukinamis and Kino:

“They were too easy to defeat in DF!”; Dark Fate wasn’t entirely about them to begin with. Most routes focused on the boys’ internal struggles with their trauma and how to move past it.

“Kino is sometimes mean for the sake of being mean”; it’s almost as if he’s the ✨villain✨

It’s dumb questioning the morals of characters supposed to have an antagonistic role.

“Kino hurt Ayato in LE”; out of all characters who have wronged Ayato, at least Kino felt bad and wanted to apologize.

Yui:

“She’s dumb and ugly”; Japanese fans literally love her for being an idiot because it wouldn’t be fun to see the heroine being the best at everything or not making mistakes at all. Plus, her design is definitely not ugly.

Stop creating your own version of Yui in your head and ending up disappointed when she doesn’t act the way you expect her to. No, Yui is not OOC for liking being bitten, having a low learning ability or saying things she shouldn’t in the wrong moments. Nobody is perfect and everyone has their own kinks and flaws.

“She’s too innocent”; she’s not?? If you really want to see her thirsty, go play Ayato’s routes, especially the heaven scenarios.

“She’s weak”, she’s the opposite. Yui is one of the most mentally strong DL characters.

I can’t understand people who hate on heroines when they’re present in all routes and are the most positive characters.

Yes. While he has shown some care and loyalty to his brothers, the family name Sakamaki itself he has no loyalty to or care for, especially since he hates his dad. He also doesn't strike me as someone who cares about enforcing traditions.

Reiji

No. In most routes Reiji is the only Sakamaki brother that doesn't hate his father, and therefore has actual loyalty to his family name. He's also a very traditional man. He would not take your last name.

Ayato

Also no. He hates Karlheinz and isn't traditional, but he's extremely possessive, so he wants you to take his last name. He wouldn't want to choose a new surname either because it's not possessive if you both changed your last names. He wants you to take his.

It's somewhat likely but I think he's more likely to want hyphenation or just choosing a new surname for the both of you.

Subaru's possessive and hates his father so he has no real loyalty to his surname. He doesn't strike me as the traditional type but I think the idea of you taking his last name would appeal to him. You might be able to convince him to hyphenate or take your last name but I think ultimately his preference would be for you to take the surname Sakamaki after marriage.

You will take his last name, he will not take yours. Not only is he traditional, he's also possessive and he's your master, so you must take his last name. And unlike the Sakamaki brothers, the Mukami brothers all have love and loyalty for their surname because it's what makes them brothers and family.

I think he's one of the more open-minded diaboys regarding this, but I feel like he'd want you take his last name because of the love, loyalty, and family associated with it. He'd probably be open to hyphenate, but I don't think he'd want to take yours. He won't take your last name because he wants to stay with Mukami.

Yuma

For some reason I headcanon him as really open-minded with this but at the same time canonically he's super possessive and he has that love and loyalty with his surname. I still stand by that open-minded headcanon and I think he might outright suggest hyphenation.

Azusa

Azusa would do anything to please his s/o but I think he's so attached to his last name that this is really the one thing he's unwilling to change. He'd be apologetic but he'd suggest hyphenation. He gets very attached to things with meaning so I can't see him being fully willing to give that up.

Carla

You're taking his last name. No ifs, ands, or buts.

Shin

Same with Carla. He will absolutely not be changing his last name to yours. He might consider hyphenation but at the end of the day he'd demand you take his.

Kino

Kino is very proud of his whole prince and son of Karlheinz status, so I doubt he'd be willing to take your last name. I have the feeling he wouldn't be willing to hyphenate either.

Yui

Yes. In fact, she'd be surprised and unsure about hyphenation or you taking hers. She's very traditional in that regard.

The Sakamaki Brothers' Bedrooms

Six vampire demon brothers live in the Sakamaki Household. Unfortunately, the Diabolik Lovers anime didn't showcase their individual bedrooms. However, the visual novel games featured each of the minimalistic rooms for fans to see. The following game backgrounds came from Diabolik Lovers: Haunted Dark Bridal.

1. Shu

Shu's room features a subtle yellow theme with touches of lime green. It makes sense he has a sofa in his room as the vampire loves to sleep on anything he can stretch out on. There's a sweater draped over Shu's desk chair and a cardigan laid out on the bed, showing his laziness toward putting his clothes away. He's the only one to seemingly have a desk as he was often forced to study as a child. Beyond the desk, Shu is the only brother to have a ceiling fan as he would require the room to be comfortably cool if he were to remain asleep.

2. Reiji

Having a formal and sophisticated style, Reiji's bedroom is the most extravagant. He has the most furniture with victorian dark blue décor in his room. It's the only bedroom that seamlessly flows along with the rest of the manor. The demon also makes the most use of his room by having large bookcases built into the walls with a curio cabinet containing delicate china in between (DL, Haunted Dark Bridal, Reiji's Route). All the books are the result of attempting to gain his mother's attention as a child. Now, Reiji maintains his intellectual studies to assist in his role as the acting head of his siblings and the Sakamaki Household.

3. Ayato

Ayato has a simple red theme with the curtains and couches. He appears to have the most windows in his room with the addition of a large balcony. Ayato also seems to have the largest balcony attached to his room out of his brothers. However, he's the only vampire to use a real iron maiden as a bed. Of course, all the original spikes have been removed to avoid killing himself while he sleeps (DL, Haunted Dark Bridal, Ayato's Route).

4. Kanato

Based on the dark circles under his eyes, Kanato appears to dislike sunlight the most. This is further proven by the balcony being shrouded with the thin interior curtain. Kanato's large, traditional four-pillar canopy bed purposely faces away from any direct source of light. The fireplace and the two candelabras on the mantle aren't lit. Finally, the one source of light in the room is a small chandelier with candlelight. Kanato has the most unique bedroom with a purple color scheme in addition to the nursery theme with toys scattered across the floor. Beyond his bed, he's the only demon to have a decorative ceiling and a portrait of his mother in his room (DL, Haunted Dark Bridal, Kanato's Route).

5. Laito

Laito has an obvious and heavy green theme to the velvet furniture in his room. He's the only one to have a fully carpeted room rather than a wooden or marble floor with a rug of some kind. The demon is also the only person to have a footboard bench and an entire wall decorated in draping velvety curtains. With the addition to the pot of flowers atop his fireplace mantle, it's clear Laito intended for his bedroom to feature his romantic sensual side. It's obvious he intended to be able to "tango" wherever in his room on either the bed, footboard bench, the chair, or the floor.

6. Subaru

Out of all the siblings, Subaru has the planest bedroom. What little furniture and décor he possesses is white. However, there are subtle touches of gold and silver. The only window Subaru has is to his little balcony. Beyond this, he's the only vampire to sleep in a sturdy coffin (DL, Haunted Dark Bridal, Subaru’s Route). This is likely due to the fact that the vampire has a violent temper. As such, he has a tendency to take his anger out on his environment and destroy his bedroom. Due to this, Subaru has little, simple furnishings to toss or flip over as a means to avoid smashing them. Instead, he mostly smashes the walls.

All the boys' rooms during the day. This would be the time when they would all usually be asleep to avoid irritating their eyes. Plus, the brothers attend night school.
