Known as one of the historical hubs of Japan, Kyoto has a notable number of well-preserved neighborhoods, majestic temples and all manner of photo-worthy landscapes.

A view of a wooden bridge crossing what I believe to be Kamo River in Kyoto. I loved the mountains up here.
From my October 2023 Japan trip.

MWW Artwork of the Day (2/25/23) Eiichi Kotozuka (Japanese, 1906-1981) Fireworks at Kamo River (c. 1952-58) Color woodblock print, 39.4 x 27 cm. Private Collection
A crowd of spectators marvel the large fireworks decorating the evening sky over Kamo River in Kyoto.  An explosion lights up the dark night sky, sending showers of red and yellow sparks falling. The bridge is crowded with viewers, and families stand on the shore at left to watch the summer display. A lovely scene with soft shading in the sky and shimmering reflections in the water below. Eiichi Kotozuka was a 20th-century Japanese commercial artist and woodblock printmaker. He was a prolific artist of the sosaku-hanga style. He was one of four artists who co-founded the print publishing company Koryokusha. He was noted for his prints of Japanese cultural traditions, flowers, landscapes, and wildlife.
