I'm not very good at talking. I never have been, but… I do need to say this. My time with you as your friend was, was the best I ever had.

Note
Do you come up with character names randomly or do you actively pull inspiration from somewhere, because it feels like they all fit the characters so well and some of them feel pretty unique (like the lead girlies in Hopeless Junction)
i think names gain meaning through connection to the character. even if its something like millarca that is direct reference to gay vampire novel carmilla once i name my character millarca it gains new meaning for her. francesca malcatras comes from My Lady (Malady)+Alcatraz so i do get funny with them sometimes. but these are the exception i normally don't try to do anything with them. i don't seek out symbolism or name meanings when looking to name characters. honestly you can name your characters whatever and the names will grow on them. that's my mentality at least
but as for ME i have such a strong preference for letters that i really really like to use (N A D I L etc.) it just makes me feel good these are the OPTIMAL LETTERS TO USE FOR STRONGEST AURA. name yourself diana and nobody can stop you. um anyway like i especially i like names ending with "A" like kalinda, chandra, zarina, francesca and liliana, shana, millarca, remilia, arisa.... i usually just pull shit out of thin air like naming my next games sister pairs with matching names lana&lina(just nice letters) and ilo&hali (ilo=happyiness/happy hali=hug) naomida will also have someone named pöllö (literally, owl) because when i drew her her hair kinda reminded me of an owl
anyway my preferences for these patterns is so strong i end up into a situation where i wanted to name my 10th character in the game "paloma" and my gf was like no you cant do that you already have too many characters with these letters its going to get confusing so I'm left spamming name generators and going down baby name lists to find something that is not something that is directly my gut instinct otherwise every single character would be called nadiana.

The Good Wife
Tumblr media
I finally watched The Good Wife, and I LOVED it. When I put this show on my watchlist I think it was on season 6 and a lot of things happened and I couldn't watch it, but I finally did and I'm so happy.
Also, I think I have never been happier to never have read a spoiler about a show.
First, I love Alicia. Lead characters are usually so boring, and even tho she was The good wife, she was growing, so we literally saw her go from wife to badass lawyer.
Julianna Margulis is a really good actress. I haven't seen a lot of her work, but she nailed it as Alicia Florrick. I always find it refreshing when the lead actor is good at their job.
Now, even tho I loved the show because some episodes were amazing (Looking at you, season 5). It had these storylines that they started and ended abruptly.
Characters disappear without explanation. The best example was Robyn. They knew they needed to replace Kalinda, so instead of sticking with Robyn, they forgot about her then they brought Jeffrey Dean Morgan to play Alicia's new love interest.
They also loved to go in circles. The whole plot about Alicia's campaign was a waste of time. The Lemond Bishop thing ended up with Kalinda just leaving, which doesn't make any sense to me.
The political plots were so boring. Anything that involved Peter was boring. Seasons 6 and 7 were awful. They focus too much on Aliica's love life.
For me, Alicia's most interesting relationship was with Peter. Not in a romantic way, I think Will was the right one, but how their relationship worked.
They should have made them friends. I know Peter sucked, and he was an asshole, but in the end, he was the only one Alicia didn't betray. I don't know; I liked their dynamic.
So the reason that I was so happy to never read anything about this show: Will's death. I was SHOCKED. I didn't even like him that much, but I was sad that he was gone.
The one thing I knew was that Archie Panjabi and Julianna Margulies didn't get along, and they couldn't be together in a scene.
So, when I saw the first season and Kalinda and Alicia's friendship started to develop, I knew I was en route to a lot of frustration.
When I met Archie she was doing the Fall (Gillian Anderson's best performance, btw), and I read about the thing with Julianna, but I wasn't expecting that she would leave the show.
I thought she finished the whole show, and that remarkable last scene between Alicia and Kalinda at the bar was one of the last scenes of the show.
Kalinda was my favorite character, and the way she was treated by the writers was terrible.
It annoyed me how they dressed her. She was an investigator working on the street. Wearing high-heeled boots and short dresses didn't make sense. Look at the way Robyn and Jason dressed. But of course, Kalinda was a sexy and mysterious investigator.
And the hair? In all 6 seasons, she let her hair down once, ONCE. Insane. Even in some sex scenes, she was having her hair up.
I wish they developed more of her character.
And I can't believe that Julianna and Archie hated each other so much that they couldn't suck it up and work together for the sake of the show. And they had a lot of chemistry, the way Kalinda went soft for Alicia only? Crazy. She got rid of her abusive husband because Alicia felt threatened.
And Kalinda and Lana? They had me giggling and twirling my hair every time they were together. Thank god I didn't watch this live because I could've died of frustration. I wanted more.
Look at this shit. I have watched her scenes together like 300 times.
Tumblr media
I saw Eli was a fan favorite. He was ok to me, sometimes way too much.
Cary was also a favorite. Pretty privilege I guess.
Diane. I mean, how could you not love Christine Baranski. I think I have never seen her play a serious character before. I really liked Diane, but some plots were boring to me because I knew about the spin-off. So, some things weren't possible.
Last season was a drag. It was just so boring, and I couldn't wait to finish it. But seasons from 1 to 5 were fun. I was so invested in the show. I couldn't stop watching.
I find it funny how Jason ( who everybody loved bc JDM I know) was exactly Kalinda but male version.
P.S Alicia and Kalinda had one of the most devastating break up on tv
I'll watch the good fight now.

But what if I wrote Kalicia fic. What if I did it. Anyways here's what I'm thinking (yes they're all song lyrics idgaf):
Lately I've been dressing for revenge:
Alicia had many friendships die. But this was the first on that had been murdered. She couldn't even look at Kalinda anymore, she couldn't stand to be in the same room as her. And she couldn't stand how she was always looking gorgeous, as if she was flaunting that she could get anything she wanted. Well Alicia would show she could do the same, scandal be damned.
Is it casual now?
Knee-deep in the passenger seat and it's not the first time and Kalinda has done this before but not like this. Not with someone she loved as much as she did Alicia. And she can never know.
Next to me, one degree of separation
Saint Alicia doesn't get mad right? And yet Alicia was mad. Alicia was raving mad. But then she meets Agent Lana Delaney and she's reminded of that girl in college. And maybe it'll make Kalinda feel what Alicia's feeling right now.
Dress
Alicia looked gorgeous. Alicia was always gorgeous but this time she looked unreal. Radiant. And the way that dress hugged her body and the red complimented her lips and her voice softly whispered in Kalinda's ear and there's only one place this night could end.

don't care where you are, we're just getting started
It couldn’t be her. But it couldn’t be anyone else, either. Kalinda set down the gun, opened the door quickly.
Lana/Kalinda. general audiences. ao3.
There was, of course, a new city. There always had been. There was a new city, a new apartment, and a new job. Kalinda Chakra lived in a five floor walkup studio in the Castro. No new friends, yet. Who knew if there would be. A law firm, again, a smaller one, a startup. Lots of free reign. She liked the partners fine, and the pay was adequate, even for San Francisco. She couldn’t complain, really. It was all fine. She took up jogging, despite the hills.
Occasionally—as she watched the sun set over the ocean from her west-facing window, or as she bit into a sandwich on sourdough, or cursed herself for forgetting a jacket on a chilly spring day—she would find herself missing something. What, she couldn’t quite say.
Kalinda was not in the habit of answering her doorbell, except when expecting a package, but she did usually peer through the peephole just in case. It was late evening, Tuesday. A long, eventful day at work. She hadn’t found anywhere she liked to drink yet, so her plans were tequila on her couch and shitty TV. She slipped her gun into her hand off the side table by the door. She held her eye up to see who it was.
Was that?
It couldn’t be her. But it couldn’t be anyone else, either. Kalinda set down the gun, opened the door quickly.
“What the hell?” she said.
“Hi,” said Lana Delaney, standing there at her door in San Francisco. Kalinda had the urge to shut it in her face. A certain fondness bubbled up in her chest, though, what was left of the last time she’d seen her. It was her fault that Lana had lost her job, she knew this. The leak—there was the leak. But, there was Cary too. Kalinda had been furious at him, he should’ve known better (that she wasn’t his girlfriend, that it was wildly inappropriate to out someone the way he did). Lana hadn’t been happy. And yet, she hadn’t blamed Kalinda. There had just been her on her couch with a fallen face and a glass of wine, her hand in Kalinda’s, an admission that she was growing tired of the bureau. Then, a few tears. Kalinda kissed them away, knowing she didn’t have much longer to do so. Knowing she had to disappear without a trace. She thought she hadn’t left a trace, anyway.
“How?” said Kalinda with her arms crossed. She wasn’t exactly angry. She was, under the confusion and the slight panic (if Lana had found her, who else could?), glad to see her.
“I have my ways,” said Lana. Kalinda would have to get specifics later. “Did you think I wouldn’t come looking for you?”
“I,” Kalinda began (she didn’t, no).
(She would’ve looked for Lana).
“Are you going to let me in?” Lana asked with her eyebrow raised. She glanced at the apartment over Kalinda’s head. That raspy tone that Kalinda liked so much filled her voice.
“Yes,” said Kalinda. She stepped aside and let her in. She closed the door and suddenly couldn’t resist kissing her. She hadn’t wanted to miss her. She wasn’t aware she did. Yet, a rush of emotion hit her. The familiar taste of Lana’s favorite lip balm, the familiar swell of Lana’s breasts a little above her own.
When she finally broke the kiss, smiling, Lana smiling too, her eyes dark and her lips pink, she asked again: “How?”
“I put a tracker in a pair of your boots.” She pouted, like she always did when she was joking.
“Am I in danger?” said Kalinda.
“I was careful,” said Lana. “There’s always danger, though. You’re careful, too. I know you are.” Lana confirmed for herself. “You’d talked about San Francisco before. A friend at the bureau had heard about a new, really good investigator at Phillips/Olivet. I tried a few other apartments before this one.” She was slightly bashful. “I missed you, Kalinda. You were worth the search.”
“I missed you too,” said Kalinda.
“I think,” Lana said, turning her head to the side, then back, “I think we might have something special.”
“Yeah,” Kalinda said back and squeezed her hand. She kissed her again, sweet, simple.
“Do you like it here?”
“A lot of the time.”
Kalinda led her to the couch and poured her tequila. Lana laughed a little, it was so classically her. They didn’t talk for a minute. Kalinda had to tell her.
“Lana,” she said, “I had to leave because I wouldn’t put you in danger. Bishop would’ve killed me over, over you.” She was quiet. She had never intended to tell Lana this.
“How so?” asked Lana.
“He wanted me to put a tracker in your wallet. He would’ve killed you, Lana.” A sober, scared, then relieved expression came over Lana’s face. “I couldn’t, I couldn’t let him do that.”
“So, you risked your life for mine?”
“I did.”
“Oh, Kalinda,” Lana said. Tears welled up in her eyes. “Thank you.”
“I take you seriously,” Kalinda echoed one of their last conversations. “I never thought I’d see you again.”
“I would’ve knocked on every door in this city.”
“If you had disappeared?” said Kalinda, “I would’ve found you, too.” She closed the remaining distance between them, resting against Lana’s shoulder.
“I’m sorry you had to,” said Lana.
“I’m okay,” said Kalinda, “I really am. Work is good, the city is good. I’m good.”
“I had no doubt you would be. But you left everything behind. That’s hard.”
“I’ve done it before,” Kalinda smiled softly.
“I know,” said Lana, leaving it at that. It was quiet for a while.
“I love you,” said Kalinda, the words coming out easier than anything. She knew she did the moment she snapped that card in half.
Lana held her tighter. “I love you, too.” It was quiet again.
“So, I’m staying at the Martin, it’s just a couple blocks away.”
“You’re staying with me,” said Kalinda.
“Okay,” said Lana. “I’m really, really glad I found you.”
“Me too,” said Kalinda, and she was.
