Okay chat question for you all.

Just had a lore brain blast

So why is Kali short for her species?

Her genome has a few recessive genes that make her shorter and stockier than usual.

These recessive genes originate from traits expressed by her ancestors who moved from another planet with a lower gravitational force. To adapt to the higher forces, each new generation got shorter and more muscular.

At some point tho, genetic drift made her species taller on average. Despite this, the stockier build remained in the gene pool.

As a regular gym goer, Kali treats her workouts very seriously...

...at least until she sees one of her loved ones.

Minor changes this time around, all being purely texture related.

It's a bit hard to see, but I added a subtle scale texture to the normal and roughness maps on Kali's body material! I additionally tweaked her nostrils to be a bit further apart.

Plus, something I completely forgot to add when retexturing her: the five scars on her back!

On this day in 2015, I made a red and green reptile char in Spore. After like idk,,, one or two design tweaks or something??? over eight years they evolved into the beefy shark lady who's easily one of my fave OCs!

A more subtle update this time! I added some corrective blend shapes to Kali's eyelash geo in order to fix a clipping issue that popped up whenever her eyes opened a certain amount!

A before and after of the blend shapes in action!

To ensure a smooth transition, the weight of both blend shapes are linked to the eyelid controls using good ol SDKs!

Some small progress this time round! I added a second set of eye geo (which I'm calling "WTF eyes") for more extreme expressions, and linked the visibility to a custom attribute on her eye controller!

Next is to add some joints around her mouth to control her lips, which'll take AGES.
