୨♡୧ Offside attraction
Michael Kaiser x reader, fluff
Romance trope mini series - Opposites attract
To him, you shine like a shooting star. He’d do anything to have you. The only problem, you’re the daughter of one of BM’s executive sponsors who clearly states you’re off limits. 0.9k wc
C.ai bot by dolcesite, ngl this kinda turned into a forbidden romance but oh well
The roar of the stadium was deafening, chants and cheers blurring out any audible conversation. Kaiser, out of breath, wiped the sweat from his brow as he jogged off the pitch. Bastard München had just secured another win, his goal sealing the game in the final minutes. The crowd adored him. To them, he was a star, a prodigy, a player destined to make history.
But as he scanned the stands, his sharp eyes found the only face that mattered.
You stood near the VIP box, illuminated by the late afternoon sun, a vision against the sea of waving scarves and clapping hands. He’s simply glued to the way you exist, you exuded an effortless aura, one that Kaiser can’t take his eyes off of no matter what.
To him, you weren’t just another fan or even a casual admirer. You were untouchable, a beacon of light in his otherwise dark world. The child of one of the club’s top sponsors, you were as far out of reach as the moon.
Kaiser had learned early on that lines existed in football—not just on the field but in life. You were one of those lines. Explicitly off-limits by the higher-ups, you were never even supposed to cross his mind. But knowing something was forbidden only made it more irresistible.
After the match, the team celebrated in the players’ lounge, the area buzzing with energy and accomplishment. Teammates laughed, drinks were passed around, and highlights from the match looped on the TV screens. Kaiser, however, was restless. His mind wasn’t set on their victory.
When he finally stepped outside for air, the cool evening breeze hit him like a balm. He leaned against the railing overlooking the training grounds, his thoughts wandering to you. He could still picture the way your lips had curled into a faint smile when his goal hit the net, the sparkle in your eye as you clapped politely among the more raucous fans.
“Kaiser,” a voice called from behind him, soft yet firm.
He turned, and there you were, framed by the glow of the corridor lights. His pulse quickened, and he hoped the dimness masked his surprise.
“I thought I might find you out here,” you said, stepping closer.
He straightened, suddenly hyper-aware of the space between you. “You’re not in the lounge?”
“It’s not really my scene,” you replied. “And I figured you’d be out here brooding instead of celebrating with your team.”
“Brooding?” He smirked, though his heart was racing. “That’s dramatic.”
You shrugged, leaning on the railing beside him. “It suits you. Lone wolf, football prodigy. I can see the headlines now.”
He chuckled softly, but the sound was short-lived. You were too close, the faint trace of your perfume making his head spin.
“You shouldn’t be here,” he said finally, his voice quieter now.
“Why not?”
“You know why.”
You didn’t want to answer. Instead, turning to look at the empty field below. The silence stretched, heavy with plenty unsaid.
“I watched your goal today,” you said, breaking the silence. Your voice softer now. “It was... amazing.”
“Thank you.”
Another silence. This one heavier than the last.
“I know I’m not supposed to talk to you,” you said suddenly, your eyes still fixed on the pitch. “But it feels ridiculous, doesn’t it? All these rules about who we can and can’t be around.”
“It’s not about rules,” Kaiser said, though the words felt hollow. “It’s about consequences.”
You finally turned to him, your gaze sharp and unrelenting. “Do you care about consequences?”
The question hung between you, daring him to answer.
“Yes,” he said, though the way his voice wavered betrayed him.
You stepped closer, your eyes never leaving his. “I don’t think you do.”
He couldn’t breathe. You were so close now, your presence overwhelming, your gaze pulling him in like gravity. He knew he should step back, create distance, remind himself of the boundaries that existed for a reason.
But he didn’t.
Instead, he reached out, his fingers brushing against yours. It was the smallest of touches, but it sent a shockwave through him.
“You’re playing a dangerous game,” he murmured, his voice rough.
“And you’re not?” you countered, your lips curving into a faint smile.
For a moment, the world around him seemed to fade—the stadium lights in the distance, the noise from the lounge, even the weight of the rules he’d spent his life following. All that remained was you, standing there, daring him to take the risk.
He lifted your hand slowly, deliberately, as if giving you time to pull away. When you didn’t, he pressed his lips to your knuckles, the kiss lingering longer than it should have.
It wasn’t just a gesture. It was a promise.
“I would do anything for you,” he said quietly, his voice low and full of conviction.
Your breath hitched, and for the first time, he saw a crack in your carefully constructed composure.
“Kaiser…” you began, but were rudely cut off by the sound of footsteps from the corridor.
You pulled your hand away, stepping back as if the distance could erase what had just happened.
“You should go,” he said, regret evident in his tone.
You nodded, your expression unreadable, and turned to leave.
As you disappeared into the building, Kaiser leaned back against the railing, his heart pounding in his chest. He knew he was in too deep, way too deep to pull himself out.
Because to him, you weren’t just a forbidden line to cross. You were the only thing that made the risk worth taking.

Charlie Barr, arguably Scotland’s most accomplished sporting sailor was born on July 11th 1864 in Gourock.
The youngest of the Barr brothers, from a known seafarer family, his mother, afraid of losing all her children at sea led him to learn a trade on land and got him a job as a greengrocer. Charlie’s experience was short-lived on land, the saltpeter in the air intoxicated him and one day he decided to run away and found a position as a cabin assistant on a coastal trade schooner.
In 1885 his brother John Barr was hired to take the 16-meter Clara to New York and Charlie embarked with him. In 1886, at age 22, he was called back home to take over the Fife 40ft Minerva, and with her he crosses the Atlantic again. He won numerous regattas, rising to fame as a talented and innovative skipper and making some money, as many regattas had monetary prizes then.
Charlie Barr, short at just under 5 foot, with a bushy mustache, he was a man of few words. Despite his Scottish accent, that Americans found very difficult to understand, he attracted the attention of the big Americans shipowners of the time (Rockefeller, Vanderbilt, Carnegie, Morgan) and took on American nationality.
At the helm of Ingomar, he accepted the challenge of Kaiser Wilhelm II’ Meteor, in a series of regattas organized by the Royal Yacht Squadron and brought a club representative onboard during the races. At one point in the regatta the Kaiser, at the helm of Meteor, approached with good bows and the club representative yells at Charlie: “Captain, the Kaiser! Turn!”
Reply from Barr: “The Kaiser stops being Kaiser when he’s at the helm of a racing yacht!”
The two yachts maneuvered on a tight near miss but without damage as the German had come about before. The regulation stipulated that the victor could choose the trophy. That afternoon, Charlie Barr requested the Kaiser to lower Meteor’s pennant and be given to him as a trophy. The Kaiser objected but Barr didn't budge. Today, that pennant is still on display at the Royal Yacht Squadron.
Charlie Barr was hired to skipper Columbia, winning the 1899 and 1901 America’s Cup, and Reliance, with which he was awarded the 1903 one. Nine wins over nine regattas. 84 years would pass until it would be equalled and 100 years until the record was broken.
In 1904 Kaiser Wilhelm launched a challenge of crossing the Atlantic. Charlie Barr was skipper of the 57-meter schooner Atlantic, belonging to Mr. Marshall, who would take part in the regatta with six guests. Charlie hired 51 fishermen from Nova Scotia as crew. Regatta rules required to remove the propellers and display them on deck. He took the hard route towards the north and following the orthodromia. On the sixth day they did a 341-mile run. The ninth day Atlantic sailed on the reach by a following storm, just a small jib and a square sail up. The decks were swept by the waves and two men were busy with the steering wheel. The owner Mr. Marshall requested from Charlie Barr to head into the wind and wait until the storm eases. The skipper answers: “Mr. Marshall, you engaged me to win this race, and that is what I intend to do”. He then accompanied him to his cabin, closed the door and locked it.
Charlie Barr and Atlantic won the Kaiser Cup and broke the record for crossing the Atlantic. The record was kept for 75 years.
Charlie Barr died of a heart attack during a visit to his family in Southampton at age 46, in 1911. He is still recognized as the best skipper of all times., you wonder if his records would ever have been beat if he lived longer.
There have been plans for a statue of Barr to be erected in Gourock but theyare still to put into motion.
You cand loads more detail of Charlie Barr's life in a three part article here https://www.classicboat.co.uk/articles/people/charlie-barr-part-one-of-our-series-on-the-greatest-british-racing-skipper-of-them-all/

If The Girls Ended Up In NRC
Summary: A Twisted Wonderland Crossover! Imagine if they ended up at Night Raven College instead of attending Gedonelune Magic Academy (Have I been playing TWST.. Yes and I'm obsessed :3)
Lizzy: Heartslabyul
There are times in the garden students of Heartslabyul can spot a cute small blue fox running around every now and again, Obviously no one knows where it came from or who it could belong to; however, what they do know is that it likes to cause chaos. Funnily enough it’s her that is the little gremlin causing chaos around the dorm
Speaking of her fox form, many would assume that was her signature spell. Wrong, that is just a condition she had after an experiment gone wrong back home. Her signature spell is actually called, Animal Party Necropolis: Being able to summon reanimated beasts to which she is able to summon up to two at a time
She makes it a point to at least try to be social with other students from the other dorms but primarily she can be found with peers from her dormitory. Amongst them, Cater is her bff as he lives for her chaotic energy and is pretty much her wingman. Riddle has a love hate friendship with her: he hates that she’s making a mess with her glitter bomb pranks, but also he rather enjoys her baking/cooking so it kinda balances out (If anyone ever tries to point out that she seems to get away with a lot, Riddle always denies it) If she isn’t with Cater, she can be found hanging out with the Leech twins. Her and Floyd get into all types of mischief together as Jade is there for the entertainment though of course even he’ll join in their shenanigans on occasion
Being part of the performance club after sometime students have considered her an idol. As of course, because of her vastly growing popularity Azul decides to capitalize on having idol Lizette coming to perform at the lounge on certain nights knowing it’ll bring in more customers. What could she say, she’s a fox of all trades
In a similar case to Rook, she will speak in Italian: she could be thinking in English but verbally it comes out in Italian OR if some unfortunate soul decided to make her mad whatever the case maybe… Well they’re not gonna understand a single thing she’s yelling at them cuz all English has flew out the window
Kaiser: Ignihyde
Kaiser is pretty anti-social and generally tends to keep her distance from others so she’d fit right in. She’s also pretty good with mechanics so she’s rather helpful in repairs or building
She is pretty much the tough sister figure of the dormitories group, probs the most violent member of Ignihyde if we’re being honest here. Idia doesn’t want her getting into trouble, but also he’s just very grateful that she has his back when needed (which is probs a lot cuz his anxiety)
If she’s forced to socialize for class purposes or the likes there are generally only three dorms she’d really surround herself with aside from her own dorm: Diasomnia, Pomefiore, and Octavinelle:
She isn’t exactly friends with Rook, but she’s capable of holding a conversation in French with him so of course he’s over the moon happy while on the other hand she is actually quite close to Epel; the first time she heard him curse she laughed (Which is very rare) and that’s pretty much how their friendship started.
There is a mutual respect between her and Jade as generally they’re partners during projects in classes they have together; however, Floyd on the other hand purposely annoys her to pick a fight to which his defense every time is “I can’t help it, Sea Snakey is just so cute when she’s angy.”
Just about everyone in Diasomnia she gets along with… Well except for Sebek; she gets rather annoyed when he is always loudly trying to correct her behavior/mannerisms around Malleus as Sebek sees her lax and casualness to be disrespectful to his housewarden.
Her signature spell is called Psychosis: She’s able to alter a person’s or group of people’s reality (in connection to her affinity to using illusionary magic)
Akemi: Diasomnia
Sweet, sweet baby is the most social and bubbly of the Diasomnia members. Despite her appearance of being short (shorter than Lilia by 3 inches), her being very cute, and her bubbly personality; Akemi is surely incredibly strong. Silver is the very protective brother figure who will carry her around or hold her hand
She’s pretty much liked by the majority of the students at the college and there are a good amount of students that even give her treats since it’s common to see her snacking throughout the day due to her need to keep up her energy
Her signature spell is called Simon Says: Similar to Ruggie’s Laugh With Me, with her blood acting like strings she’s able to control an individual’s body. The more strings she utilizes the stronger the control she has over the individual (poor Sebek nearly had a heart attack when seeing her bite her own hand to use her signature for the first time)
Speaking of Sebek he holds her to the same regard that he holds for their housewarden; he literally treats her like a princess. He’s a big ole’ worry wort that sticks beside her if Silver isn’t around in fear that some lowly individual would have the audacity to try to bully or harm her (even if she doesn’t need his protection, he still has a strong sense of responsibility to protect her)
Generally at times if she isn’t with her dorm family, she’s with Kalim as the two rays of sunshine's go for carpet rides to enjoy the beautiful day outside. Them being in the same room together is like a double kill of just lil beans being happy and sweet to others
Fay: Octavinelle
Her mature nature along with her elegance and her professionalism allows her to perfectly fit along with the other members of this dorm. Essentially she’s kinda like a Jade 2.0, but just an inch or two shorter than the twins
She’s very organized because of her ocd so needless to say all documents, reports, and the likes are organized accordingly by current date. Also if the smallest thing is out of place she will surely correct whoever made that mistake and have it be fixed. Surely her being an extra hand around Mostro Lounge helps so that Jade can tend to the more… Pressing matters
Speaking of pressing matters, if the twins happen to be busy with other tasks, Azul will send Fay to go seek out the students to have a small… Talk about their debts that still need to be paid
Fay’s signature spell is called Open Like A Book: Making eye contact with an individual she can see what they fear to which her magic manifests that very fear
There are very few people at the college she associates herself with, as it’s not necessarily about not getting along with others or even not liking someone. Moreover that if they cannot hold an intellectual conversation with her, she just simply has no interest in befriending them
It’s sometimes common to see her with Riddle or even Malleus when she isn’t working at the Monstro Lounge. She rather enjoys discussing policies and rules with Riddle over tea or they’re talking about interesting books they’ve read. On the other hand Malleus a lot of their interactions are mainly accompanying each other during strolls around the campus with small conversations here and there
Aphrodite: Pomefiore
Dite is right at home with how prim and proper she is along with her passion for fashion. She’s either loved or disliked, there’s really no in between which surprisingly she’s fine with and accepts things how they are… for the most part
Of course that nobility air to her can make her seem quite unapproachable unless she’s the one who’s initiating the conversation. Vil loves her; her clothing designs are impeccable, her etiquette is just about flawless. Truly she’s the standard that he strives to make all the other students in his dorm. Pretty much they’re together all the time except for the classes they don’t have together (which it’s majority of classes)
Even though she calls herself a bully who bullies the other bullies, she can become very cruel if set off. It’s much worse if the two are together, like it isn’t wise as thankfully many of the students are smart enough to know that. Her and Rook tend to clash every now and again over things like choice of colors and patterns for clothing, but any other time they get along fine
Beautification Crystallization is the name of Dite’s Signature Spell. Essentially this spells allow her to crystalize things; in the sense using it against other magic she can negate certain spells (except for fire) and can send the crystalized magic back at the castor
She’s definitely going to try and have her own little pop up shop in town for her clothes and the few accessories she makes. She really is a person who’s great at giving advice for what to get for gifts or even love advice
Genova: Scarabia
Probably the most skittish one out of all the other students of Scarabia, but her love of astrology certainly shows the makings of a Scarabia student
Kalim just LOVES being able to teach her about their customs and the likes; as he can come off as a little… Too strong or too excited at times, but thankfully Jamil is around to keep him contained for the most part
Well no one except for Crowley and the staff knew of Genova’s curse problem at the time. So the first time during a history class and Nova accidentally getting a papercut, needless to say pretty much all the students freaked out when she suddenly turned to ash out of nowhere only for a child version of her to be popping out of the ash pile moments afterwards. Over time it seems that Jamil had developed a sixth sense for whenever this happens since he’ll be there just a little while after it happened and if it ain’t him, it’s Jack
Speaking of child Genova, the amount of times Jamil has had to chase Lilia down to retrieve her is grand to which of course Silver scolds his father for ‘stealing’ a child. Floyd one time ran all the way to Monstro with her (probs as harmless as him wanting to treat her to chickie nuggies or just have a moment of being the older brother for once) as you could guess he unintentionally scared the poor thing making Nova cry. Thankfully Jade watched over her while he worked, the whole time she had clinged onto him for dear life
Her signature spell is called Protection of Bane: Bane being her contracted guardian, she can summon the huge black wolf as he’ll come out from the shadows. Essentially aside from protecting Genova, the bond they have he’s able to amplify her magical power thus allowing her to cast much stronger spells though it does tend to tire her out quicker the longer or the more she uses that amplified power
Generally if she isn’t with Kalim and Jamil, there’s a likeliness of finding her with individuals like: Jack, Trey, Silver, or even Idia (well if you can find where the two have gone off into hiding)

WARNING : I'm just an addict ... addicted to music. There are people who are born to make music, o8 thers are born to hearing. Whenever was part of this second group. Maybe it's. a habit, I gotta use, even if it 's rock, jazz or the quiet storm. Great pictures of the things I love - music, painting, books, photography, architecture, design, women, and more. The Guernsey Literary & Potato Peel Pie Society was the September @readerbookclub choice, and I’ll dive right into it:
What did you think of the book? What were the things you enjoyed and the things you didn’t enjoy?
I really liked it. It was light, despite having some heavy subjects. I loved all the book references, the glimpses into history, and Victor Hugo’s random letters. I loved the friendship between Julliet, Sophie and Sidney. Isola was a delight, and Kit was adorable. I loved watching the new friendships grow, and the mystery of Elizabeth McKenna slowly unfold.
Did any quotes or passages stand out to you? What where they and why?
“That’s what I love about reading: one tiny thing will interest you in a book, and that tiny thing will lead you to another book, and another bit there will lead you on to a third book. It’s geometrically progressive — all with no end in sight, and for no other reason than sheer enjoyment.”
“In Guernsey, Cee Cee wrote poems to freesias and the daffodils. Also to the tomatoes. He was agog with admiration for the Guernsey cows and the pedigree bulls, and he composed a little song in honour of their bells (’Tinkle, tinkle, such a merry sound...’). Beneath the cows, in Cee Cee’s estimation, were ‘the simple folk of the country parishes, who still speak the Norman patois and believe in fairies and witches’. Cee Cee entered into the spirit of the thing and saw a fairy in the gloaming,”
“The Crown cannot impose taxes on the Islands - or conscription. Honesty forces me to admit the Islanders don’t need conscription to make them go to war for dear, dear England. They volunteered and made very respectable, even heroic, soldiers and sailors against Napoleon and the Kaiser. But take note -- these selfless acts do not make amends for the fact THAT THE CHANNEL ISLANDS PAY NO INCOME TAXES TO ENGLAND. NOT ONE SHILLING. IT MAKES ONE WANT TO SPIT!’
That were two segments from Tramp.
She got up and went over to the desk. She stood there for a while, then she picked up that crystal thing with Latin, Carpe diem, or some such, etched on the top. She studied it.
“Seize the Day,” she said. “That’s an inspiring thought, isn’t it, Isola?”
“I suppose so,” I said, “if you like being goaded by a bit of a rock.”
Which scene stood out most to you? Why?
Clovis Fossey’s letter. Of all the letters, this one I remember clearly. For someone initially not interested in books and book clubs, he was particular eloquent. He won over his dear Nancy (1) at the cliffs, and fought in the First World War (2).
“Lookie there, Nancy. The gentleness of Heaven broods o’er the sea - Listen the mighty Being is awake’.
‘Passive Suffering? Passive Suffering! I could have hit him. What ailed the man? Lieutenant Owen, he wrote a line, 'What passing-bells for these who die as cattle? Only the monstrous anger of the guns.' What's passive about that, I'd like to know? That's exactly how they do die. I saw it with my own eyes, and I say to hell with Mr Yeats.’
Is there anything you would like to change about the book?
While the story wasn’t fast-paced, the ending was a little rushed. In the movie, I wondered at how fast Julliet was travelling to Guernsey. In the book, I was surprized at how fast Kit was pretty much living with Julliet at Elizabeth’s cottage (Julliet wasn’t a stranger, but still), and while I totally understood she wanted to adopt her, as that horrid Adelaide Addison wrote; the Literary Society pretty much raised her, while ‘the principal work of the baby’s maintenance was undertaken by Amelia Maugery, with other Society members taking her out -- like a library book -- for several weeks at a time’. Julliet mentioned taking Kit to London in a one letter, and that kind of shocked me. I wondered about Christian Hellman’s family, they might never know he had a daughter.
I pretty much hated Mark from his first letter, he was so entitled and arrogant. I likened him to Gaston, I still hold firm to that. The movie softened him, while the book just made me wonder why he was that obsessed. Movie-Mark seemed genuine, and they actually got engaged before she left for Guernsey. Book-Mark seemed only to be there for the story to have a love-triangle and to add tension between Juliet and Dawsey. When she dumped him once and for all, it didn’t seem to matter to her at all, so I wish Mark had been more sympathetically written. Any internal struggle shouldn’t have been reduced to ‘will I end up as a lonely spinster?” @readerbookclub remarked that Remy was also mostly there to drive up the tension, and I agree.
How did you feel about Juliet’s romance with Dawsey? Was it well written? Did you enjoy it?
I love the trope of friends to lovers. I loved Julliet’s denial, and Sidney and Sophie rolling their eyes at her from across the channel.
29th July 1946
Dear Sophie,
Please ignore everything I ever said about Dawsey Adams.
I am an idiot.
I have just received a letter from Dawsey praising the medicinal qualities of my ‘sunny nature and light heart.’ A sunny nature? A light heart? I have never been so insulted. Light-hearted is a short step from witless in my book. A cackling buffoon - that’s what I am to Dawsey.
3rd August 1946
Dawsey and I have not been as easy with each other as we once were, though he still comes often to visit Kit, or to bring Remy over. When we heard Remy laugh our eyes met for the first time for a fortnight. But perhaps he was only admiring how my sunny nature had rubbed off on her. I do, according to some people, have a sunny nature, Sidney. Did you know this?
She was so hilariously bitter about an innocent compliment. Honestly. Dawsey might have well have said she was tolerable, but not handsome enough to tempt him.
Is there any character who has a similar taste in books to you?
Isola, she was also obsessed with Pride and Prejudice. Boom, instant connection. I related to her, because she could get intense about her interests, even if phrenology was debunked already in the 19th century. That was very random, I must say.
What were your expectations before reading the book? Did it meet them?
I actually saw the movie before reading the book, so all the big plot-points, I already knew. Still, I was really surprised to learn that the entire book was letters. The movie didn’t start with letters, there were barely any letters at all. She up and went to Guernsey on a whim, there wasn’t a welcoming committee; in contrast to the book, where the Guernsey Literary Society was there at Peter’s Port to welcome her. I preferred the way the book went about it, though I understand the limitations of the movie.
The entirety of the book is written through letters (except for some brief Isola detective work!). What did you think of this unusual structure? Would you be interested in reading more books written like this?
I was familiar with the style, Jane Austen’s Susan was also all letters. I was thankful all had the talent of letter-writing. I would have preferred that the format had kept to just letters, Isola’s part was amusing enough, but I wanted to experience it through Julliet’s voice.
What did you think of Elizabeth’s story? Did you grow to love her even though we never actually see her?
Elizabeth was the heart of the story.
Sidney remarked the same about Julliet’s book, which wasn’t a coincidence. Without Elizabeth there wouldn’t have been a Guernsey Literary Society, she was brave to a fault, and even after, Kit held together this band of people; I can understand how Julliet felt connected to her based on stories alone.

THE SAIMON FAMILY CASE recaps [4/13]
In which our detectives meet the great magician, talk about the theory of illusion a lot, and Kirigirisu is charmed.
--
PART 3
The first person narrator of the framing device shows up for a brief page to tell us about a memory predating the Case a few years. That was when he first visited the Saimon family—and when he became aware of her existence for the first time.
Crouching to watch the beautiful carps in the canal by the family’s residence, he lifted his sight and noticed first a visibly pregnant belly, then its owner: a woman in a black tomesode looking back at him, her gentle sight full of love befitting a mother.
He would later learn that her name was Tsukumo Yumeji.
--
Though the reader has already witnessed the splendid magical show of November 23rd, let us go back in time a day to the evening of 22nd, for that is when Ajiro Souji and Kirigirisu Tarou arrive in Yamaguchi. The circus schedules two performances a day, one in the afternoon and one in the evening, so free time after the evening performance seems like the perfect time to speak with Soga Tensui.
The detectives head towards the giant white tent against the stream of people who have just finished watching the show. Once they explain they’re here on Tensui's request, a young staff member leads them through the circus grounds—next to the souvenir booths, the toilets, and so forth—towards the restricted area by the back wall of the tent, where he holds the entrance open for them and beckons them to go through.
The staff area is a square of open space surrounded by a few smaller tents, with a bunch of trailer houses in the middle making the place feel cramped. People dressed in staff jackets are hanging all around. A couple of men still have their clown outfits on.
Kirigirisu is enthralled by this unusual sight; he has never seen something like this before and tries to take in everything at once. Ajiro, who has been walking in front of him, turns around to say something… but instead goes still, staring at something right behind Kirigirisu’s back. It’s probably just that young staff member who has been following them, but Ajiro’s strange expression makes Kirigirisu turn around to look as well.
Standing there is not the young staff member, but a tall man about fifty years of age, his magnificent stature and dignity making him seem an emperor, his jet-black hair elegantly swept back, his intense features adorned with a thin Kaiser moustache. He regards the detectives in complete silence, no visible emotions on his face, dark eyes intense, and the staff jacket he’s wearing does little to counteract the sheer power of his presence. He must have intentionally crept up upon them, patiently waiting for them to notice.
“You… you must be Soga Tensui?” Kirigirisu finally manages to say.
Instead of answering, the man removes his right glove, sticks his hand out for Kirigirisu to shake, then quickly puts the glove back on. Though the man’s hand looked empty, Kirigirisu realizes that a small piece of paper was somehow left in his own hand. It’s about the size of a business card, but says only:
Nice to meet you, I’m Soga Tensui.
And on the other side:
Nice to meet you, Kirigirisu Tarou.
“You already know my name…?” Kirigirisu is confused. Did Ajiro tell the man about him beforehand? He glances at Ajiro, but is met with an impenetrable stone face, so he shrugs off the surprise and presents his own business card. “It is indeed nice to meet you. I am a member of Nihon Tantei Club, Kirigirisu Tarou. I’m looking forward to our cooperation…”
Tensui accepts the business card, then holds it on top of his open left palm, covers it with his right, uncovers it, and… the business card has magically changed into a copy of Tensui’s own card. He shows both sides to stunned Kirigirisu. Nice to meet you, Kirigirisu Tarou. Nice to meet you, I’m Soga Tensui. Then Tensui uses his free right hand to point intently between his jacket’s right pocket and Kirigirisu.
“Are you asking me to look inside your pocket?” Kirigirisu once more glances at still completely serious Ajiro, who just nods, so he follows the instructions. “...I looked, but there doesn’t appear to be anything inside.”
Tensui nods, puts his right hand inside the pocket that has just been confirmed to be empty… and pulls out Kirigiru’s business card out of it.
“But—how?!” Kirigirisu can’t help but shout.
“Are you sure you checked thoroughly?” Ajiro sounds like he’s poking fun at him.
“I’m sure I did.” Kirigirisu is already feeling lost, but surprises don’t end there.
Tensui puts Kirigirisu’s card back in his right pocket, then tears his own card in half. The piece with Nice to meet you is given to Kirigirisu, then Tensui holds up the one with I’m Soga Tensui in his right hand so they can see it clearly. His left hand pulls out a lighter from his left pocket, lights the card on fire, and puts the lighter back. Once the fire subsides, an orange silk handkerchief shows up out of nowhere in its place. Tensui gestures at Kirigirisu to take and inspect it.
“It’s normal silk.” Kirigirisu tries to pass it to Ajiro, but he just shakes his head, I’m good.
Tensui takes the handkerchief back with his right hand, then makes a fist with his left and stuffs the handkerchief inside through a tiny opening between his fingers, the orange color peeking out. He moves his fingers like he’s curling the material inside into a ball, finally opens his fist… and instead of a handkerchief there is an actual orange ball there. He lets it bounce a few times on his palm, throws it high in the air—dumbfounded Kirigirisu following it with his sight—then catches it with both hands… but it has now turned into a mandarin orange.
From a burning business card to a silk handkerchief, to a ball, to an orange. Kirigirisu is already shocked out of his mind, but the show still doesn’t seem to be over, for Tensui gives him the orange and mimes peeling off the skin. Kirigirisu has no choice but to entrust his Nice to meet you scrap to Ajiro, then start to peel the orange… inside of which he finds a tightly rolled piece of paper.
The piece of paper is one half of a business card, saying I’m Soga Tensui on one side and Kirigirisu Tarou on the other, its torn edge a perfect fit to the Nice to meet you part Ajiro has been holding onto.
Kirigirisu has been involved in his fair share of strange and complicated cases over the years, but nothing has ever shaken him as much as the last few minutes.
A small applause arises next to him; Ajiro is clapping.
“I see you've improved further, Gensui,” he says.
Gensui? Kirigirisu looks closer at the torn card and notices that indeed it says I’m Soga Gensui, as if the printed words have magically transformed.
Tensui (Gensui?) finally loses his unemotional facade and gives them a genuine, gentle smile, a great contrast to his previously stern features.
“Forgive me for this little surprise,” he says in a fittingly deep, friendly voice. “Let me say it once more: my name is Soga Gensui, and it is nice to meet you, Kirigirisu Tarou.”
Kirigirisu is still in shock, but Gensui’s sudden change from an impenetrable wall to an affable fellow is accompanied by such relief that it makes him automatically crack a smile of his own.
“Likewise. So you aren’t Soga Tensui, but Soga Gensui?”
“Well, I am also Soga Tensui. As long as I don’t speak, that is.” Seeing Kirigirisu’s confusion, he adds, “You’ll understand once you meet my older brother. He is Soga Tensui, see.”
“Let’s leave explanations for later, Gensui,” Ajiro interrupts.
“As you wish, Souji.”
Looks like these two are good friends despite the age difference. For some strange reason, the thought evokes feelings of jealousy and loneliness in Kirigirisu; maybe it’s because as a man with no past, he finds Ajiro about the only person in his life he can truly be close with, other than his wife Kano.
Unfortunately, Gensui can’t really talk with them right now; tomorrow is the concluding day of the current show repertoire, and many preparations are still in order. What’s more, Gensui wants the two detectives to watch tomorrow's show first before they discuss the case in details. (While he is smiling a lot, whenever he mentions the case his face goes back to utterly serious.) The plan is that tomorrow evening after the show they will catch a ride with the Saimons to go back to their hometown, Tsuwano. That same night they will attend the wake of Saimon Yuuta, the third possible victim who was found dead just a couple days ago.
Since Gensui has to go help everybody prepare, Kirigirisu gets more information from Ajiro as they’re walking to the inn where they intend to spend the night.
The man they’ve just met is Saimon Suigetsu (48), whose stage name is Soga Gensui. He’s the younger brother and body double of Saimon Ryuusui (50), who’s known as Soga Tensui. It’s easy to get lost in all these similar names, especially considering that all of them have sui (“water”) in them somewhere.
[To explain a bit more about their names: Ryuusui is written 流水, just like the JDC author’s pen name, and means “flowing water”, “stream”. His stage name Tensui (天水) literally means “rainwater”, with the individual kanji standing for “sky” and “water”, perhaps referring to his Sky Walk and Sea Walk.
Suigetsu (水月) is a term meaning the Moon’s reflection in water, and the first kanji of Gensui (幻水) means a “phantom” or an “illusion”—quite fitting for a double.]
According to Ajiro, Gensui wanted to see for himself what kind of person Kirigirisu was before making his identity known. Apparently Kirigirisu made a positive first impression, so Gensui sent a sneaky signal to Ajiro, who only then could start referring to the man as “Gensui”.
While the two brothers are not twins, for show purposes they made themselves look as similar as possible. A part of this was introducing easily noticeable and memorable things to their looks: the tailcoat, the hairstyle, the moustache. Any good detective knows that people tend to remember characteristic details like that and overlook more subtle differences.
(As they are walking, Kirigirisu gets a strange feeling of deja vu. Perhaps he visited Yamaguchi before, just can't remember it.)
--
Soon, Ajiro and Kirigirisu settle down in a room at a traditional inn, the kind where you sit in a tatami room on legless chairs on opposite sides of a low table, eating local delicacies and having an inn employee ready to assist you whenever you clap your hands. It’s quite a relaxing time, in part because they got some alcohol inside them already and the conversation is flowing well. Maybe they’re getting a bit too relaxed on a job trip, but hey, they have time to spare, and are already close enough to consider the other something of a family member.
The conversation inevitably drifts back to the magician brothers.
“Just like Gensui himself said, he serves as his brother Tensui’s double,” Ajiro says. “Because of that, he must act like Soga Tensui in front of outsiders, at least until they prove themselves trustworthy. You can’t reveal this secret to anyone, do you understand? Not even your wife. I didn’t tell mine either.”
Kirigirisu knows that Ajiro is married to a kind woman called Mizuki and that they have a little boy called Souya. Apparently Mizuki was born in Shimane prefecture, just like the Saimons, and just like the two magician brothers she has the kanji for “water” (mizu) in her name… but surely that’s just a coincidence.
“Understood. I won’t tell anyone, not even Kano.”
“Looks like Gensui can judge people well.” Ajiro smiles a little.
“By the way, boss, this may be a baseless doubt on my part, but… have you ever actually seen both Tensui and Gensui at the same time?”
“You’ve barely just met one of them, and you’re already doubting the other’s existence?”
“No, that’s not what I—”
“Don’t worry. If anything, doubting is what makes a detective. However, I can assure you that Tensui and Gensui are two different people. I’ve met both at the same time, even.”
“Are they really so similar that no one ever notices? Not even their close ones?”
“The Saimons know, of course. The show is mostly ran by their family, but they employ some additional staff that doesn’t know the secret.”
“It’s beyond my understanding how two people could manage something like that. To always pretend to be the same person in front of their staff...”
“Then you still don’t understand what kind of people Tensui and Gensui are. They are magicians. Pretending that they are one and the same person is a part of the act.”
Kirigirisu shares his theory on how Gensui managed to sneak behind them earlier. He couldn’t just mix in with the crowd, since always perceptive Ajiro would spot him, so he probably hid himself in one of the nearby toilets, waited until they passed by, came out and quickly switched places with the young staff member. The switch had to happen just as Ajiro and Kirigirisu were getting through the entrance to the restricted area. However, it still seems strange how much Gensui had to rely on sheer luck; if they randomly looked back and witnessed the switch in progress, wouldn’t that break the illusion?
“Do you think a famous magician wouldn’t have already anticipated the possibility?” Ajiro answers with a question. “What may look to you like a lucky coincidence was actually a carefully calculated inevitability. Something like us suddenly turning around simply would not happen.”
Kirigirisu recalls that moment again and realizes just what Ajiro means. At the time, they had just entered a restricted area filled with smaller tents, trailer houses, staff walking all around, some people still in costume. These sights were something not many people were used to and would almost certainly take a minute to stare at. In fact, did Ajiro not turn around first, maybe Kirigirisu would never notice Gensui, too focused on the scenery in front of him.
“The possibility that we wouldn’t turn around was indeed high,” Kirigirisu admits, “but I wouldn’t say you can make an outcome of a situation like this completely inevitable.”
“You can if you use misdirection,” Ajiro says. “In magician vocabulary, it means pulling the audience’s attention away from something. Leading them in a wrong direction, hence: misdirection.” Seeing that Kirigirisu still doubts him, he adds, “If you think that misdirection can't make an illusion inevitably work, then… how about this?”
Ajiro rolls up his sleeves, holds his lit cigarette between two fingers of his right hand and stretches his arm towards the ashtray. Kirigirisu has no idea what’s going on, but something clearly is, so he looks at the cigarette in anticipation. Ajiro stretches his left hand forward as well, and suddenly—flings the lit cigarette towards it, left hand immediately closing in a fist. Thin wisps of smoke arise from between his fingers. The heat must be unbearable, but Ajiro seems unfazed. He points to the fist using his right hand, look closely, then slowly opens the fist… revealing absolutely nothing inside. He shows that both the front and back of his left hand look normal, no cigarette anywhere. Then, as if guessing Kirigirisu’s immediate thought, shows his right hand as well. Empty.
It’s not a big illusion, but Kirigirisu’s entire world still turns upside down. Despite knowing Ajiro for a few years, he’s never ever suspected that the man could do magic. Maybe every single person on the planet can, and he just forgot about it like about everything else, who knows at this point.
But even as he remains speechless, Kirigirisu’s brain is already working hard, his detective instinct yearning to logically explain what seems unsolvable.
The cigarette had to still be there, and still be lit, to give off smoke. Lack of a burn wound meant Ajiro couldn’t extinguish it in his hand. Therefore, it was probably still lit at the current moment, and couldn’t be hidden away easily without giving off smoke. But hidden where? Ajiro’s sleeves are rolled up. What is the trick?
Before he can figure it out, Ajiro once again shows him that both his hands are empty.
“Look closely,” he says. “I’m not holding anything, right? So if I now curl my left hand into a fist...” He does so. ”...there should be nothing inside, shouldn’t it? Now please hold it tight between your hands.”
Kirigirisu holds Ajiro’s fist with both his hands. He has to strongly lean forward on his knees to do that, and sincerely hopes that no one enters the room to see them in that awkward pose.
“You saw there was nothing in my hand,” Ajiro says, “and you yourself are holding it closed now. Wouldn’t it be strange if something appeared inside?”
“Strange? That would really have to be magic!”
“Then let me show you magic.” Ajiro reaches from below with his right hand, fingers squeezing in inside his fist as if he wants to pull something out… and at the same time, a wisp of smoke rises from between his and Kirigirisu’s fingers.
“That’s impossible!” Kirigirisu forgets himself and yells when Ajiro pulls out the lit cigarette from inside his fist.
“That’s quite an overreaction,” Ajiro comments with a slight smile. “I wouldn’t even call it magic, more like a small sleight of hand.”
Kirigirisu isn’t sure what the difference would be, considering that even if it was sleight of hand, it definitely looked like pure magic to him… maybe even more than Gensui’s act. Gensui was a professional magician, so one could prepare emotionally for the meeting, expect to see a few illusions from him, and know deep inside that there is always a logical method behind his act.
Ajiro, on the other hand, has just randomly done something that made him look like a wizard.
Maybe it's the surprise involved that makes an act truly magical; had Kirigirisu known about Ajiro’s skills before, he probably wouldn’t be nearly as astonished. Without time to prepare, he felt the same shock he would if a case’s culprit turned out to be someone not even on the list of suspects.
...interesting how when his brain couldn’t understand the illusion, it instead started analysing his own reactions.
“Can I borrow one of yours?” Ajiro gestures to Kirigirisu’s pack of cigarettes.
“Take as many as you want, boss.”
“And I can do anything I want with them?”
“Yes, but… what are you going to do with them?”
“You won’t protest if I snap one in half, then?” And like he says, he does, despite definitely not being the type of person who would just take an underling’s cigarette and destroy it.
Before Kirigirisu can blink, Ajiro is throwing one half (only one half?) of the cigarette between his hands, playing catch ball with it. Eventually, he catches it in between fingers of both hands so that it can’t be seen. He opens his hands, revealing that the cigarette is now back to being whole.
“These are just bar tricks, but they help explain the use of misdirection.” Ajiro’s left hand makes a fist into which he inserts the cigarette. He holds it closed for a while, making strange stroking movements with his fingers, then opens his hand. No cigarette. Right hand empty as well.
Suddenly, Ajiro’s sight starts to wander, as if he’s noticed a fly. Kirigirisu follows his sight, but can’t see anything. Ajiro points to an empty spot in the air with his left hand, reaches there, grabs something invisible and holds it in his fist. He reaches inside his fist from below… and out comes the cigarette.
“Do what I do now, Kirigirisu.” Ajiro gestures at him to also take a cigarette and try imitating his strange grip. “Yes, just like that. Then you do this…” He moves his hands in slow motion, repeating a few times until Kirigirisu gets it right. “Once more. Hit your palms together at the end, as hard as you can.” As soon as they both clap, Ajiro shows both his hands, his cigarette nowhere to be seen. His left hand makes a fist, and just like before he reaches in with his right and pulls out the cigarette.
“What… how…?” Kirigirisu stammers out.
Ajiro opens his mouth to say something, but at that exact moment the room’s door is opened.
“Can I help you with something?” The inn’s employee looks inside the room. He must have heard them clap and assumed they were calling for him.
“Could you please tell us when our order will be ready?” Ajiro asks nonchalantly.
“We’re very sorry for the delay, we will bring it as soon as possible.”
“No, no, it’s all right. There’s no rush.”
The employee closes the door. Kirigirisu returns his sight to Ajiro… who already has his cigarette back and lit in his mouth, and gives him a very satisfied look before saying:
“And that, Kirigirisu, was misdirection.”
--
“I had the opportunity to pursue magic after I met the Saimons,” Ajiro explains once Kirigirisu comes out of shock. “It was frankly intimidating to realize just what mastery it requires and how it changes one’s life. There was a time when I trained religiously. Even now it’s a small hobby of mine, but not something I’d go around demonstrating to others. It’s not that I don’t want to; I still show the odd trick for my family sometimes. Souya is young enough that he believes I’m really a wizard, just like he believes in Santa Claus. But I really just know a few simple tricks that work better with the element of surprise.”
Kirigirisu can relate to little Souya, considering he also for a moment felt like Ajiro was using real magic. Well, losing his memories essentially made him a reborn man, so maybe in that sense he really resembles an innocent child sometimes. Which is to say, he’s pretty easy to deceive. It’s not like he can remember ever seeing magic before.
“I think you’re being too humble, boss,” he says. “It really looked like magic to me.”
“That’s because you don’t know anything about illusion yet. These were beginner acts, nothing to brag about... though it is true that the wide world of illusion is supported on the backs of amateurs more than professionals, and the latter all had to start somewhere. I’m really not much more than a beginner and haven’t mastered many things yet—and the unspoken rule of magic, the moral responsibility of a magician, is to never show anyone an illusion one hasn’t mastered. Not even those you fully trust.”
“Not even…?” Kirigirisu thinks that if he were ever to learn magic, he would for sure train in front of Kano so she could help point out mistakes. “Why not?”
“Because an imperfect illusion reveals the method behind it. For a magician, the method is his entire life, the utmost secret of his art. Do you think I’m exaggerating? Magicians aren’t wizards. They need secrets in order to work. They make a living by selling dreams. People know, of course, that there must be a logical explanation behind the illusion—but as long as the method is kept hidden, they can indulge in the charm of magic, briefly go back to being a child.”
“So revealing the method destroys the illusion… but I feel like what I just saw was simply too amazing. Surely its charm won't just completely disappear if I learn how it's done.”
“A lot of laymen think the same way. However, the moment I tell you the method, the wondrous feeling of true magic will surely disappear, as if you just came to your senses after a period of infatuation. When I look back at how easily charmed I was when I first saw simple illusions, it feels like looking back at how much you once believed in Santa Claus and bemoaning own ignorance.”
“But does this way of thinking really apply to all people? I think that rather than being annoyed or embarrassed at their old belief in Santa Claus, many would look back at it fondly as a memory of innocent times.”
“That is true. In a similar manner, we can divide people into two groups based on their approach towards illusion.”
“You mean that those who belittle their past selves for believing in Santa Claus would also lose all sense of wonder after learning the method behind an illusion? And conversely, those who look back at it fondly would still feel charmed?”
“That’s the easy way to describe it. The thing is, there’s few people for whom the magic wouldn’t be lost. Many methods are, once you know them, ridiculously simple. When learning the truth, many will feel deceived, deny that they were ever emotionally moved, consider the magician a swindler, and maybe even storm out in anger.” A tone of sadness can be heard in Ajiro’s voice, perhaps caused by his own experiences. “That’s not the only reason for secrecy. Another is that illusions are a sort of joint intellectual property belonging to all magicians. Exposing the secret impacts not just your own life, but lives of many others that use the same method, it may even expose an entire genre of the art of illusion. Usually, magicians only learn each other's methods through willing exchange.”
“So methods are kept secret in order to protect the entire magician community…”
“It’s not just to protect their own well-being; it’s also for the sake of their audience. Many amateurs seem to think that when a charmed spectator asks them to reveal the secret, they should do so—but it only breaks the illusion for them, sours the pleasant memory. Keeping the secret safe is actually the best thing you can do for your audience. The unspoken rules of conduct really boil down to what we know as Howard Thurston’s Three Rules in Magic. To tell you the truth, these are just a few of the rules Thurston listed, but these are the ones widely circulated in the magician community of Japan.”
The three rules are as follows:
1. Do not preemptively explain what you are going to do.
2. Do not show the same illusion twice to the same audience.
3. Even if asked directly, do not reveal the secret.
The third rule is obvious. The first one is easy to understand too: if Ajiro started his little show by saying he’s going to make the cigarette disappear, that would lessen the element of surprise and heighten the risk of Kirigirisu noticing how it was done. The second rule serves the same purpose, as someone seeing an illusion for the second time would already know what’s coming and probably be actively trying to guess the method, sometimes successfully.
“You may be thinking I showed you the same illusion four times in a row, but in reality these were four slightly different illusions connected in one routine,” Ajiro explains.
“I see. Just like Gensui performed one routine made of many little illusions. I understand the rule, but still… I would really love to see you perform your routine again, boss.”
By saying this, Kirigirisu doesn’t mean that he wants to try guessing the secret or challenge Ajiro in some way. It’s just an innocent wish to witness the magic again. Once he explains his feelings, maybe a bit too desperately, Ajiro smiles at him in response.
“I know you’re not the type of person to do things out of malice, I wouldn’t take you here if you were. You would never reveal a secret to anyone if you can help it. Well, maybe except to Kano… I’m joking. But it’s a point of personal morals for me to never show the same illusion twice to the same person, not even to you, not even to my own family. ...I hate to talk in hackneyed cliches, but that’s the truth. There are two kinds of people in the world: magicians and non-magicians. The distinction between amateurs and pros doesn’t matter, just like those who investigate fewer cases than us are nonetheless called detectives. It’s not even the matter of actually performing magic or not. What matters is having the right spirit. Even a talented master might be selling out secrets behind people’s back. Someone who can’t even perform a single illusion, but loves the world of magic with all their heart and guards its secrets, can be seen as a magician even when being a part of the audience. In fact, Kirigirisu—if you want, you can become a magician starting right now. How about it?”
“I… If I do decide to become a magician...” Kirigirisu’s voice is trembling. “What will I actually have to do in order to do that?”
“All you need is the right spirit. Be true to your heart’s love towards magic, and you shall be a magician.”
In order to never forget that, Ajiro has apparently created his own little set of rules for himself that he has never spoken about to anyone before Kirigirisu.
Ajiro’s Three Rules are as follows:
1. Do not boast about being a magician.
2. Remember to treat other magicians with respect.
3. Do not reveal your secrets to anyone who isn’t a magician.
Kirigirisu likes these rules; they are concise and easy to understand.
“But this aside,” he says, “why are you telling me all that about becoming a magician in the first place?”
“Because you asked to see my illusions again, and because I can see what sort of person you are. Usually, people unfit for magic lose interest after I talk to them about it, but you’re different. And you must have noticed that while my rules say to never reveal your secrets to others, there is one exception.”
“If the other person is also a magician...”
“That’s why I’m telling you all this. You only need determination to become a magician. So, Kirigirisu—won’t you become one?”
If he does, it means that he will be able to learn about Ajiro’s magic, and not only his, Gensui’s too… There’s only one answer Kigirisu can give to that.
And so, the magician Kirigirisu Tarou is born.

Lady Kiara or Milady (From the servants)
The Poison Water (By the rumors)
The Purple Poison-eyed/Reaper (By the rumors)
___________________________
Appearance and Personality
Appearance: Kiara has a slender female body build with pale white skin which they can turn into pastel glitter blue when turns into her siren form, she had Sky Blue eyes which they can turn into light yellow if she gets angry or dark wine purple if she snapped into yandere mode, she had long straight caroline blue hair that reaches to her back and it's less wavy and it is tied with a white hair ribbon. Her appearance looks like a vulnerable and quite 16-year-old but when no one is looking closely, she will easily lose her composure if anyone messed with her personally. Do something at her loved ones and she'll drown you down in the ocean till you're out of air in your lungs or she was crush you like a lake demon from oblivion.
Personality: Kiara is the only daughter in her family and is the heiress to her family's name and business, she is the count's and countess's daughter. She tends to be quiet yet doesn't express much of her emotions and often helps other in her village. She somewhat caused a rivalry with Lynette and befriended Amelia during her past training at an abandoned island, with that helped, she now expresses more of her emotions and was no longer a quiet person, thanks to her rivalry with Lynette and befriending Amelia. In every normal contest or competition, Kiara and Lynette would always get into a tie or draw despite being equal level strength and power and Amelia would try to stop them for causing a ruckus.
If any contest involves with her cousins or her friends, she too won't lose to them at all, Like her rival Lynette and her friend Amelia, Kiara isn't a easy girl to be defeated if you battle her. But she's more violent and aggressive if she's in yandere mode.
But in some days, they would often argue or give death glares in public places, then it would turned into a cold brutal and deadly fight. (You don't wanna know, cause it's like a cold blooded battle) And so it's either both of their parents or their mentors would stop them from doing it. Which caused the two to get scolded for doing it when it goes too far.
Despite she's in a merfolk noble family, instead of being treated like true royalty like anyone else, she rather just wanted to live her life out instead of being spoiled rotten. Like helping the maids in other ways of the cleaning the manor, telling the cook to add some flavor in the food, and just walk to the mall by using her feet instead of using a car and etc. This makes her different from other nobles as well too
She finds it better than being called as a spoiled brat, that what she probably hates the most by others. But she doesn't spend much of her father's money but used her own money instead. When she's with her cousins, Marcus and Valencia, she gets pretty along with her two cousins, well mostly for Marcus. Because her cousin Valencia is currently away at an all-girls school for the time-being but Kiara and her family still kept in touch with her.
Her family runs a huge company business and her father is the head CEO, by the time Kiara and her cousins get older, either one of the three will inherit the family business but they hasn't decided on who though, which it will be decided when the time has come.
Like her rival Lynette, please don't mess with her badside okay? Cause if anyone messed with her or hurt her loved ones, she will push you off a cliff and let you drown in an ocean immediately, she has strong powers and she used them for only good deeds (Or used then to send death threats or warnings) her powers are based on an Ocean Siren. If they look at her eyes, they will get a feeling of getting drowned or getting choked by the neck.
If her eye turned light yellow, it means that she activates her ocean siren powers or get angry. But if they turned into dark wine purple or her own spirit reaper eyes, oh my, get ready to run away, cause she's lure you to the ocean to drown you like a real siren would do within a second!
She has a ocean siren form, a half-spirit reaper form and also a corpse bride form, only needed in battle.
Though Kiara doesn't take a liking towards harsh words from other people, though it's rare to see her cry though because they never see her cry before. But if she's scolded by her mentor or her cousins though, she'll pout like a baby.
But if she's scolded by her father though, she's terrified, a bit compared to Lynette's mom Celestia's anger, it's worse than her own poison attempts. (And I mean it! So scary indeed. Poor Kiara will shiver intensely and scream).
But if she's shattered by someone from her past or getting talk behind her back from others in the school in various ways, she will try to kill herself by drinking poison. But in some of those attempts, her mentor or her friends will try to stop her from doing it.
Like Lynette, she had a close relationship with a 'certain someone' alongside with her father and aunt, but them too had got bloodshed but Kiara's eyes were covered so that she didn't want that memory of them dying to haunt them.
This rather haunt Kiara in her sleep, alongside with Lynette. At some nights, she'll cry in her sleep in her bedroom alone.
Kiara is an expert learner and would sometimes overwork herself unlike Lynette, after she got transfered to NRC, she would see Lynette staying up late at night finishing her projects or assignments. At some moments she would place a blanket on her or use her magic to transfer her to bed right afterward.
Kiara is quite attractive since she's born as a noble merfolk. Due to her sky-like appearance and people thinks she's like her father and mother equally. Her cousin Marcus isn't quite protective of her though, but he was concerned of her safety but not in a worry way though.
For her cousin Valencia however, she's like a worry mother to her own child. She would always tell Kiara to be more careful right after she left, and still does it on video calls and phone calls as well. Valencia and Marcus are serving her as her assistants by the time she gets older.
But in addition to that, Kiara tends to sugar-coat or flirt with her words when it comes to boys who wanted to be ok her good-side. It's either she plays it nicely or ends up ruining them.
To Kiara's attraction towards guys, she rather finds it irritating and annoying. Because they would interfering in her personal space.
After her staying in the island for quite a while after Lynette and her mentor Master Wiz left, she decided to transfer herself to NRC to join her rival Lynette alongside with her crazy adventures to remember.

Trivia
-The name Kiara means "light" or "clear" as a variation of the traditional Italian spelling of the name Chiara. While her surname Winston as a boy's name is pronounced WIN-stun. It is of Old English origin, and the meaning of Winston is "joyful stone".
-Kiara Inspired by a couple of characters, Ring Ring (From Pucca Series), Kirari Momobami (From Kakegurui), Megami Saikou (From Yandere Simulator) and Yuri Eilziabeth (From Beware of the Villainess novel/manga).
-She seems has a distrust towards men, but kept her distance at anyone who tried to get on her good side.
-She somewhat gain four men's love interests but got annoyed with them and was planning to reject them alongside with her cousin Valencia.
-She's one of victims in the 'Nine Deaths' rumors, she was killed by her ex-fiance because he had poisoned her drink causing her to collapse and was send to a hospital and received a six-week comatose alongside with Lynette. Sooner after, he was executed.
-As an Ocean Siren, she has a very long tail indeed but not a mermaid like, but a rather longer than an oarfish and a serpent though. Her form is quite beautiful indeed.
-It looks like she eats octopus legs, which Azul fears her already because if that.
-Like every merfolk, she doesn't want to come in contact with the water, if she did, then she would have transform into her siren form.
-She's allergic to grapefruit, if she drank a flavored juice from it or ate it. Then spots would have appeared on her face. Kiara has pills to cure it.
-Kiara has a mature and lady-like voice when speaking and still has it when snapped but in a louder tone. So that's why I chose Inori Minase to be her voice actor. Japanese female voice actor from a character named El-Melloi Archisorte Reines from an anime series called Lord El-Melloi II Sei no Jikenbo: Rail Zeppelin Grace Note.
-In her half-myth, she tends to be canaviore when eating meat.

Ionian Islands Cruise: A Sun-Basked Voyage through History and Tranquillity
How do sunny cruises along with the Ionian Islands, lulled in tranquil azure depths, tempt you?
You can be considering a vacation, be it with your family or with that special someone. It might be a reunion of friends or a solo leisure tour. How does a voyage sound; draped in adventures, off the coast of Greece, in the famed Ionian Sea? Off the western coast of mainland Greece, this sea hosts numerous islands, together known as the Ionian Islands.
While Roman and Byzantine reign followed that of the Greeks, these islands have also been ruled by Venetians, Napoleon, and lastly by the British. Along with a rich history, the smaller islands also offer tranquillity. You can even be on the hunt to scoop up a bit of adventure here; though you should not miss its cuisine, which is another exquisite offering from the Ionians.
Try dishes like Pastisada, Sofrito, Bourdeto, and others while cruising with your Ionian Islands sailing charter; while that of seafood is another vast horizon to explore. Well, do not forget to try the wine; a flavor basked in Greek sun, making it quite distinct from its Italian or French counterparts.
Leisurely sun basking, a bit of tan, heavy platters, a share of adventure, and a fair dose of history, Ionian Islands offers et al.
Cruising the Ionian Islands: Six Plus One!
Corfu
The second-largest of the Ionian Islands is Corfu, this isle is tied to the fabled tales and history of ancient Greece. One of the naval superpowers in ancient Greece, the landmass has been a strategic post for every conqueror of Corfu. Cruising off its coast can be exciting, with sites like the Achilleion, Kaiser’s Bridge, and more to visit. This Island also houses archaeological sites like the temples of Artemis and Hera, Kardaki temple, etc.
Paxi
Paxos and Antipaxos are the largest islands in Paxi, which is essentially a cluster of islands. Antipaxos offers some of the finest wines and also 2 of the best sand beaches in the Ionians, making it a must-stop destination for voyagers. Paxi also has an interesting myth about its origin, which attributes Poseidon, the sea god, as a creator of this island.
Lefkada
An island connected to mainland Greece via floating bridge and causeway, Lefkada is one of the smallest of major islands in the Ionians cluster. While you should not miss this floating bridge while cruising past the isle, it has rich mythical stories to offer too. Often related to Aphrodite, the goddess of love; this island is even linked to the poetess Sappho’s suicide.
Ithaki
Though every island has a fair share of history to serve the palate of visiting seafarers, Ithaki is a landmass richly contested by historians as the mythical Ithaca. Home of Odysseus, the hero of Homer’s Odyssey, ancient Ithaca has not yet been confirmed as the same island. Interestingly, archaeological findings flag both Ithaki and Cephalonia as possible sites for Ithaca.
Cephalonia
Largest of the Ionian Islands, it is 6th largest among all the Greek Isles. Along with layers of archaeological findings, this island is also regularly mentioned in ancient Greek history. The importance of this isle and its archaeological findings make many historians believe this to be ancient Ithaca. Voyagers cruising through the Ionian seas should not miss visiting this island.
Zakynthos
Even though Zakynthos has deep historical roots, it has come to be known as a favorite tourist destination filled with restaurants, clubs, pubs, etc. Be it a couple faring through the Ionian seas or a crew of friends on a fun-filled voyage; it is the most preferred spot to party.
The Ionian Islands is traditionally known as the Heptanese, which refers to 7 islands. The last landmass on the southernmost tip of the Ionian Islands and Greece is known as Cythera. Situated towards the African mainland, it is not counted presently as a part of the Ionian Islands.
Cruise Outings in the Ionian Islands
While even the mention of Greece reminds of a sun-bathed country with its rich history, Ionian Islands offer no less. Cruising through on a boat of choice, flitting across powdered beaches basked in apollonian glory, diving into the plethora of historical narrations; the Ionian Islands offer more than the perfect sailing experience.
Striding into the mythical past of ancient Greece can be well-expected while voyaging with the Ionian Islands sailing charter. What comes as a plus is a lush greenery, pristine beaches, and rugged mountains; old cities born out of wizened civilizations. When you go for the Ionian Islands sailing vacation, spare some time to imbibe the cultural horizon that is Greek in its entirety. While the historic Old Town of Corfu must be visited, you should also cruise by it to capture a captivating, scenic delight of colors. The view can be quite mesmerizing, not just for this town but for others too. Scattered over quaint hillocks, the picturesque towns are a sight to remember.
