∗  if  you  have  been  in  red  creek  long  enough  you  have  probably  either  slept  with  salvador  or  know  plenty  of  people  who  have. ∗ he  wasn't  always  so  promiscuous  though.  extroverted,  maybe  flirty,  sure.  he  got  along  well  with  everyone.  kids  liked  playing  with  him,  adults  found  him  endearing,  his  family  loved  him...  by  all  means,  he  was  just  a  normal  kid. ∗ got  into  some  trouble  in  high  school  but  nothing  out  of  the  ordinary  for  a  small-town  kid  left  to  find  their  own  entertainment.  he  was  a  star  athlete,  on  track  to  go  to  university  on  a  soccer  scholarship. ∗ then  his  mother  passed  away  and  it  seemed  like  she  took  all  of  his  ambitions  and  hopes  for  the  future  6  feet  under  with  her. ∗ with  so  much  grief  and  nowhere  to  put  it  he  unfairly  decided  to  aim  it  on  his  father  and  all  the  ways  he  failed.  to  this  day  salvador  firmly  believes  that  his  mother  would  have  had  a  better  chance  of  surviving  if  his  father  had  taken  her  symptoms  seriously  from  the  beginning.  salva  resents  him  for  it  and  their  relationship  has  been  strained  ever  since.  any  attempt  to  rebuild  that  bridge  is  made  for  the  sake  of  his  sister,  quinn. ∗ he's  very  close  to  his  sister.  after  their  mother's  passing  he  took  on  the  role  of  mom  the  best  he  could.  making  her  school  lunches,  driving  her  to  any  events,  cheering  her  on  when  she  decided  to  pursue  a  career  in  nursing,  etc.  salva  worries  for  quinn  and  how  hard  she  works.    ∗ he  never  ended  up  leaving  red  creek  and  has  found  himself  too  attached  to  the  town  that  his  mother  loved  so  much.  ended  up  taking  a  job  at  the  local  diner  as  a  line  cook  and  now  very  much  lives  up  to  the  stereotype  of  how  slutty  they  are. ∗ he  doesn't  play  soccer  anymore.  the  only  passion  of  his  that  has  remained  all  these  years  is  his  love  for  motorcycles.  has  a  vincent  black  shadow  that  is  his  pride  and  joy  (  someone  should  key  it  <3  ).  he  likes  fixing  old  motorcycles  in  his  free  time.  isn’t  good  enough  to  be  an  actual  mechanic  but he  might  be  willing  to  help  someone  every  now  and  then.  if  he  likes  them  enough. ∗ for  a  line  cook,  he  looks  like  he’s  doing  surprisingly  well  for  himself?  he’s  got  nice  clothes,  nice  cologne,  nice  motorcycles.  he’s  flashy  with  his  gifts  and  is  known  to  spare  no  expense  when  it  comes  to  dates.  if  you  ask  him  he’d  say  that  he’s  just  good  at  managing  his  money  but  maybe  there’s  something  more  to  that.  IDK  YOU  TELL  ME ∗ he's  rougher  around  the  edges  now  than  he  used  to  be  before  his  mother's  death.  still  overall  nice,  but  can  definitely  come  off  as  a  prick  to  some  people.  will  gaslight  you  into  believing  that  it's  all  in  your  head  though  <3  doesn't  have  the  best  track  record  romantically  and  has  a  tendency  to  get  bored  of  people  easily.  he's  a  hot  guy  okay  and  is  awfully  aware  of  it.

Introducing the According to the Lore... podcast (2/2)

The podcast was the idea of Jess's (Lindsey's) after getting reunited with her long lost love Sam (Steve) in Los Angeles. She said it could be the perfect opportunity to take back the agency of telling his story that Chuck Shurley took away from him when publishing the novels. They could focus on lore and hunting. It could serve as a library for aspiring hunters so that they wouldn't come face to face with trusting incorrect monster lore. They chose the aliases Steve and Lindsey as a nod to the Winchester's often choosing rock music aliases. Jess begrudgingly let Sam live her lifelong dream of being S.tevie N.icks to make the aliases a little less obvious.

Neither of them really expected the podcast to take off or enjoy it so much, especially because it had been years since the Supernatural series had been published. But they found a following and grew, soon garnering sponsors and becoming a rather impressive source of income for them, which they never intended for it to be. They often invite other hunters, retired and current, for guest spots on the podcast to tell their own stories of unique and interesting cases.

This podcast is set in Jess's Hot Mess verse and exclusive to @storiesfabled for Sam Winchester, Dean Winchester, and Castiel.

welcome to DEATH'S DESIGN, a universe of my own creation, loosely inspired by multiple sources, including: death note, saw, final destination, and the ring.

death's design takes place in SEATTLE, washington and follows casimir anderson's time of taking the powers of death into their own hands in order to enact justice on a society they viewed as corrupt. as they gain a reputation, basil leroux, a renowned detective and security consultant begins working on the case to solve the mystery behind the true identity of the killer known as THANATOS. little does he know he's working in close proximity of the mastermind behind thanatos' crimes – casimir "call me cas" anderson inserts themself into the case, offering assistance in order to obscure their own connection to the deaths.

with what little evidence they have to go off of, basil tirelessly searches for answers. he spends hours watching and rewatching the videos that surviving targets received telling them to confess their crimes and beg their new god for forgiveness. he analyzes every bit of information that can find on thanatos and still, despite his skill, he finds no answers. only leads that go nowhere and a prime suspect innocently helping him organize papers and offering their own theories on the case.

the questions he most desperately wants answered are: WHO is THANATOS? and HOW do THEY KILL?

the events of death's design occur after casimir has a chance encounter with the personification of death itself. during this encounter they manage to acquire the book of the dead; inside it they find pages upon pages of names and dates and causes of death. at first they think that perhaps they have the diary of a murderer, a list of all their victims and the manner in which they killed them. but it quickly becomes clear that that is not the case as the flip through an impossible number of pages, finding entries dated for the future and entries from far further back than there would be any record of.

any theory behind the book's existence that they can come up with is impossible, yet they keep circling back to these outlandish thoughts, wondering what they might do if this book truly was a ledger of the dead. so, after some consideration, they found their first potential target — a man who's reckless driving caused an accident, taking the lives of six people. he was going to go unpunished, all because he had the money to afford a lawyer capable of twisting his crimes so that he escapes blameless.

it was irrelevant that the lawyer he was paying to get him off was casimir's estranged mother, that had very little to do with their choice. at least that's what they tell themself.

they found his name easily, the book opened to the page they needed, as if it knew what cas wished to do. they scratch out the day the man was supposed to die – a time many, many years into the future – and they write in the next day's date instead. they assume nothing will come of it, it was merely a silly experiment that would bring no results. when they woke up the next day and saw a report of the man's death on the news, it felt like the world stood still.

they had done that. a man had died because they willed it so. the power of death was their's to control. they alone have the POWER to RID the world of those who's crimes go UNPUNISHED.

this was the beginning of THANATOS, the dawn of a new age where casimir anderson was j u d g e, jury, and executioner.

∗  kennedy  was  marcus  and  suzanne's  last-ditch  effort  to  stabilize  the  marriage  between  a  narcissist  and  a  small  town  primadonna.  the  attempt  lasted  for  a  few  years  on  and  off  which  resulted  kennedy  having  to  spend  their  early  years  alternating  between  two  homes ∗  kennedy  was  the  spitting  image  of  the  both  of  them  and  the  two  were  painfully  aware  of  it,  pushing  the  young  kid  to  be  the  best  version  of  themselves...  they  just  had  different  definitions  of  what  that  was. ∗  for  marcus,  it  was  a  sharp  mind.  days  with  him  usually  consisted  of  activities  that  involved  intellectual  improvement  -  playing  chess,  reading  books,  watching  documentaries.  as  for  suzanne,  she  preferred  more  physical  charms  -  sports  &  beauty  pageants  mostly. ∗  the  combination  resulted  in  a  kid  who's  learned  quickly  that  they  earn  most  praise  when  they  are  not  only  good  at  something...  but  better  than  expected.  a  mindset  eventually  turned  to  a  desire  at  being  the  best  in  whatever  they  set  out  to  be. ∗  in  2006  suzanne  started  seeing  a  local  man  named  jon  hererra  and  before  kennedy  had  a  chance  to  process  their  mother's  new  relationship,  they  were  asked  to  pack  their  bags  to  move  in  with  this  stranger  and  his  son,  santiago  herrera. ∗  while  kennedy's  father  was  still  in  their  life,  it  was  apparent  that  he  had  decided  to  take  a  step  back  (  no  doubt  betrayed  by  how  quickly  his  former  wife  moved  on  )  and  began  only  taking  kennedy  on  the  weekends. ∗ life  with  the  herrera's  was  different.  suzanne  had  taken  to  bragging  about  her  child's  achievements.  an  energy  that  their  stepfather  quickly  matched  .  he  became  invested  in  advancing  kennedy's  talents,  perhaps  hoping  that  their  excellence  would  rub  on  on  his  son. ∗  unfortunately,  kennedy  had  a  hard  time  relating  to  santiago.  perhaps  it  was  the  age  difference  or  the  resentment  in  their  parent's  union.  whatever  the  reason,  it  made  building  a  healthy  relationship  difficult. ∗ kennedy  tended  to  focus  on  their  academic  pursuits  instead.  editor  of  the  newspaper,  head  of  the  speech  and  debate  team,  goalie  of  the  girl's  soccer  team...  they  had  their  hands  full!  eventually  they  graduate  with  honors  and  got  accepted  at  NYU  on  a  full  ride  to  become  an  investigative  journalist. ∗  after  college,  they  booked  a  job  at  the  new  york  times  amd  became  a  travelling  journalist,  moving  from  country  to  country  to  write  pieces  about  whatever  was  relevant. ∗  during  their  travels  they  came  across  an  interesting  case  that  was  ongoing  in  italy.  there  was  a  unexpected  string  of  murders  happening  in  a  small  countryside  town  and  with  the  help  of  the  local  police  department,  it  was  determined  that  the  local  catholic  priest  was  poisoning  the  offerings  during  their  mass  and  would  either  pretend  to  heal  them  with  the  power  of  God  or  let  them  die. ∗   the  article  kennedy  wrote  didnt  garner  much  attention  but  they  were  so  invested  in  the  story  they  decided  to  write  a  book  about  it  named  'death  at  the  altar'  and  lo  and  behold  -  it  became  a  best  seller! ∗  it  was  such  a  hit  that  kennedy  had  to  take  a  break  from  their  journalistic  endeavors  to  go  on  a  book  tour.  as  exciting  as  it  was,  kennedy  found  it  awfully  tiresome. ∗  after  some  thought  and  some  nudging  from  their  mother  &  step-father,  kennedy  decided  to  take  a  break  from  it  all  and  move  back  home.  they  took  up  a  job  at  the  local  newspaper  because  they  figured  it  would  be  easy.  some  fluff  pieces  here  and  there  while  they  focus  on  their  next  big  hit.  it's  red  creek,  michigan  after  all.  nothing  ever  happens  here.

𝚂𝚄𝙼𝙼𝙰𝚁𝚈   : a  smart  kid  who  watched  their  parents  divorce  and  was  forced  to  join  another  family  along  with  her  outrageous  mother.  left  town  as  soon  as  she  could  but  recently  decided  to  move  back  home  after  writing  a  best  selling  true  crime  novel  named  'death  at  the  altar'.

Hosted by self-proclaimed superfans of the Supernatural book series by vanished author Carver Edlund, Steve and Lindsey recount the tales of Sam and Dean after the leaked final book Swan Song, as well as the stories of other monster hunters within this universe. Steve and Lindsey often have guests on the show to help recount the stories of different monsters and how to fight them, chronicling stories of near misses and triumphant victories alike of the creatures from Heaven and Hell and everywhere in between.

INTRODUCING anthony "dove" baek an original character based in the dc comics fandom. they are played by simon martyn.

anthony "dove" baek is a twenty year old barista and paramedic in training. occasionally, as they can afford it, they attend college classes, studying a variety of subjects with no set major. school is mostly for fun at this point; they have no real desire to complete a degree or go forward in their education, they just enjoy learning. it also allows them the opportunity to spend time with their best friend, karina "reenie" downing. becoming a paramedic is their real dream and they're so close to reaching it; they've always wanted to help people in a way that really made a difference.

dove was born and raised in gotham – during their teenage years they spent several weeks in central city, after running away from their current foster home – they grew up in a neighborhood on the border of crime alley and the bowery, regularly traveling between the two. they were an unwanted, but not unloved child. their parents weren't together and didn't plan on having children until their mother got pregnant; she wasn't ready to grow up yet, but their father was, if she agreed to it he wanted to keep the baby, even if it meant raising them by himself.

they came to an agreement. he'd take full responsibility for their baby and she'd sign everything away. he agreed that she could still be in their life if she wanted, acting as an aunt instead of a mother. (she accepted, though she still wasn't as present as he hoped she would be.)

dove's father did the best he good while raising them. he worked two or more jobs and he was always searching for a more stable position that would allow him to spend more time with his kid. he'd leave dove with neighbors and close friends while he worked but every minute he had free, no matter how exhausted he was, was spent making sure dove knew how they loved they were. their father was the world to them growing up. it didn't matter that he'd leave them alone a lot — being babysat by neighbors would eventually become being left at home alone, his father trusting that they'd be safe if they went out. (they were a true latchkey kid, left home alone with no supervision, expected to take care of themself until a parent got home.)

eventually, their father's struggles finding employment would lead him to accepting some... less than legal jobs. this is the start of a time where he'd be gone longer and longer stretches of time, until he just... never came back.

dove waited in their apartment for nearly two weeks before they accepted that their father wasn't coming home.

they knew that he'd never abandon them but it didn't stop that fear from creeping in, telling them that he'd finally had enough.

after losing their father, dove spent time on and off the street. they tried to avoid social workers and mandated reporters that would turn them over to cps because they didn't trust the foster care system. they'd only ever heard bad things and it scared them. the streets were the lesser of two evils in their mind. walking and surviving on the streets of gotham wasn't new to them, they'd been doing it since they were seven and their dad trusted them to be home alone for the first time. foster care was different; there was too many unknowns, they didn't know the rules for survival and they didn't want to learn. of course, there was times where they'd be picked up and placed quickly — usually in a group home, since they were older, but occasionally they'd wind up in a smaller foster placement.

there was only one or two placements they trusted enough to stick around for longer than a week.

and only one were they felt safe enough to stay until they finished high school. (their senior year was messy but at least they were stable. they had a warm bed to go to every night and that was enough.)

high school is where they would meet reenie downing, their future best friend and ex girlfriend. they met during a period in both their lives where they were starting to question who they were. they only dated for a brief time and during that time they slept together twice before figuring out that no, neither one of them is straight. they had a very amicable break up and have stayed close ever since. (this was helped by the fact that they have a son together. an accidental outcome caused by them being two stupid teenagers, who really didn't know what they were doing.)

they co-parent their son, sparrow, with reenie, though he primarily lives with them. reenie takes him on the weekends because she has those off and dove picks up the most work on weekends.

at some point during their preteen years they started to develop meta abilities, specifically superspeed. they have no idea how this happened, they don't remember anything special happening to them, nor do they think it was something passed down. neither of their parents, to their knowledge, where meta-humans. it's a very weird situation for them but by the time they're an adult they've adjusted. it's just a part of their life, it might not make sense but they're working with it.

now, they're mostly focused on their day to day, just working to get by and make the world a better place. even if their part in that is small. they're not a hero, not in the sense the people closest to them are, but they are good. they are genuinely good.

dove is one of the few people who have not let the corruption of gotham ruin their heart. no matter how bad their city is, they will always have love to give. they will never sink so low as to take their anger out on the world around them.

each day they do their best to make someone else's day better. with kind words or small gestures that might mean nothing to most people, but to others they're the world. this is how they begin their friendship with helena bertinelli, the huntress. she was a hero to them before she was their friend; they were someone who believed in what huntress was doing and regularly defended her actions. (in much the same way they'd defend red hood's actions, though that gets harder for them to do without feeling all jittery and flustered after meeting jason.)
