I hate him. I hate him. I hate him. I hate Pops with my whole damn life. The day people realize that he was just as much—if not more—to blame than Overhaul for what happened to Eri will be the day I am free.

Why Pops Deserves Criticism:

1. Neglecting Kai’s Mental Health – Pops took in Kai, a traumatized child who clearly needed help, yet he did absolutely nothing to help him recover. No therapy and bearly any guidance.

2. Forcing Kai into a Toxic Environment – Instead of providing a stable home, Pops raised Kai in the yakuza, exposing him to crime and violence from a young age. Kai was already in a bad place before being adopted, and Pops only made it worse.

3. Encouraging Violent Behavior – When Kai beat up a classmate for insulting the yakuza, Pops barely reacted. He said he was “disappointed” but also proud that Kai stood up for the family. He failed to discipline Kai or teach him restraint.

4. Ignoring Red Flags – Even after Kai secretly sold drugs behind his back, Pops still kept him around. Where was the accountability?

5. Giving Eri to Kai – Pops knew Kai was antisocial, violent, and mentally unstable. Yet he still entrusted him with Eri. What could possibly go wrong?

6. Hypocritical and Cruel Behavior – After waking from his coma, Pops made a point of visiting Kai just to remind him what a failure he was—as if he wasn’t the one responsible for creating that failure.

Why Pops is Worse than Overhaul:

This man:

He drove away his biological daughter. Turned his adoptive son into a deranged psychopath. Gave his traumatized granddaughter to said psychopath. Was shocked when that psychopath experimented on her. At the end, he faced zero consequences for any of it.

And yet, he gets to walk free? Please tell me I’m not crazy. Pops buried his head in the sand and did absolutely nothing to prevent any of this. He deserves more hatred than Overhaul—because he’s the one who created him. Case closed.

i ordered the newest chisaki figure and he arrived yesterday so I thought this is the perfect way to revive this account. Apparently the Kai in the last picture on the right (which is the first Kai I’ve ever owned) was a blueprint for this most recent Kai. I think someone grabbed the blueprint and was cheaply making 3D printings of him and then hand painting them because only a very select few of them exist. That’s why he looks so low quality compared to this officially produced Kai.

Anyway, as for posting writing, I have a submission from anon that I am now able to work on since my sophomore year of college has ended and I am finally on vacation. Don’t worry anon 🧪 I saw you 😭 and sorry about that. Your brain is very large.

Overhaul turned the tables of MHA in season 4.

Yes, his arc felt short, but his introduction and everything he did was both impactful, planned out and his goal, although unethical made sense.

Yes, him putting Pops into a coma and hurting Eri over and over again to make the their erasing bullets is inhuman, what he did to Mirio and NightEye is unforgivable. but it showed that he did what he thought was right.

Think about all the lives that could have been saved if certain people in MHA lost their quirks?

I'm happy that we are getting more backstory for him and I'm hyped for Kai Chisaki to comeback! Overhaul is a really cool villain, cold blooded and driven, but calm and calculated, and yet, imagine the good things he could do with that quirk?

Destroys and restores things, able to reshape anything he wants to. He’s The Fullmetal Alchemist without the equivalent exchange! Remove body fat, add reinforce muscle, he could even remove cancer cells, he could have been a great doctor. I imagine he needed to learn biology and anatomy, years of medical practice; he seems to be the kind of man who once he's obsessed with something, he focus' on that interest and runs away with it. Pops said he had a bad habit of taking things too far.

Overhaul is hands down the most simply the horrifying, strong, well-made, intimidating and handsome looking villain in MHA. Such an interesting character with a badass quirk.

Talking about Overhaul because I can not stop yapping about him. Little analysis.

Overhaul’s design is clearly inspired by a bird, yet this symbolism isn’t discussed enough in the fandom. When Kai Chisaki became Overhaul, he essentially underwent a rebirth, transforming into something he saw as superior. Chisaki and Overhaul are almost like two different people.

With this transformation, Overhaul also gained a sense of freedom. Birds symbolize freedom, and as the boss of the Shie Hassaikai, he had the power to do whatever he wanted. He controlled his own organization, dictated its future, and pursued his vision without restrictions. In that sense, his bird-like design reflects his newfound independence.

However, one could argue that the bird symbolism actually represents imprisonment rather than freedom. When Chisaki became Overhaul, he unknowingly trapped himself in a metaphorical cage. His actions ultimately aligned with All For One’s larger scheme, making him nothing more than a pawn in a greater plan. While Overhaul had his own motives, his quirk-erasing bullets ended up in the hands of Shigaraki and Dr. Garaki, playing a crucial role in the war.

So, was Overhaul truly free? Or was he just another captive of fate, bound by the very power he thought made him untouchable?

I've got things to say about this post and other similar posts, so here we go! Oh, and no hate to the creator, but I saw this post and wanted to use this as an example.

While I do agree that the Shie Hassaikai operates in a more morally gray area they are still Yakuza and Yakuza tend to do bad stuff. But saying that they are worse then the LoV is crazy and even downplays the terrible stuff they have done.

Saying that "generally keeping innocent people and bystanders out of harm" is completely stupid. When Shigaraki woke up, he destroyed an intre city. He started a war and tramatizused literal kids. The Shie Hassaikai is not more evil than the LoV, I'd say they have the same fault, but I do believe that the LoV has done way more terrible things than the Shie Hassaikai.

And saying that Overhaul did not need redemption is definitely one of the most craziest things ever. Chisaki is a boy who was experimented on by AFO as a young child and grew up in one of the most dangerous environments a child can grow up in. Whether people like it or not, he is a victim and deserves redemption.

This was good to get off my chest. Sorry if it's a little confusing, but it's pretty late for me, so I'm a little off. I would like to hear your thoughts about this situation.

UGHHHHUHHHGUGHHHUGHHUHUGG i love the overhaul arc of mha SOOOOO much this is my favorite season by far i just love how even though the shie hassaiki operates in “a moral gray area”, they seem infinitely more evil than the league of villains

the league of villains has morals and restrictions, generally keeping innocent people and bystanders out of harm (tho not always obviously)

but the hassaiki seems so incredibly evil for child abuse and trafficking. it’s so bizarre to me how the supposed morally gray villains are so incredibly evil and hated by almost everyone.

i also adore eri and her story, how she truly was saved not just physically but emotionally. and i like seeing how even heroes doubt themselves, how mirio doubted himself about not stepping in and originally helping eri. self doubt and questioning is a true sign of heroism in my mind.

also i like that the league takes overhauls arms off. deserved tbh. i don’t want to see anyone from the league die because they all have potential for redemption, but overhaul definitely did not after killing magne.

Lowkey forgot about this but here is a small headcanon I've been thinking of recently sooo...

As a teenager, Chisaki struggled with the deep psychological scars left by his time in the orphanage under AFO’s control. Feeling powerless against the torment he had endured, he turned to self-harm as a desperate way to regain some semblance of control over his own body and emotions. The physical pain served as a distraction from the overwhelming sense of helplessness that haunted him, a twisted coping mechanism that allowed him to momentarily escape the grip of his past. Despite his cold and calculating demeanor, these moments of self-inflicted suffering revealed the depths of his inner pain that no one else could see but that shaped the man he would eventually become. But when Chisaki became Overhaul, he healed all of his scars as a way of rebirth. He was born once again, but this time, without any flaws.
