Undine didn't attend her graduation in Aurora Skies because, uh, someone (me) was too impatient and just wanted her out of there, so her first order of business on her second day in Sunlit Tides was heading to City Hall for graduation. As soon as she wrapped that up, I sent her right back in to register as a self-employed sculptor.

Afterwards, she needed some social and wanted to meet people, so I sent her to the Summer Festival. It was deserted.

It reminded me of teen Wilona's sad attempt to have her young adult birthday there.

Aside: I'm not fond of the Sunlit Tides festival grounds. There are too many little nooks and crannies for Sims to hide in, and hide in them they do. But it's so huge that if your Sim heads for one upstairs corner bar, and has the bad luck to encounter Sims there who are on their way home, then by the time your Sim crosses the lot to the opposite upstairs corner bar, the grounds will be closing for the day.

Undine tried to meet someone, anyone besides the maid and the mascot, another day. At the swim center across the street from her house, she did meet and befriend Kai Kahale.

I ignored the mutual attraction. Velma's love life was complicated enough for three generations--the last thing I want is to have Undine pursue a married man.

Undine had earned a promotion as a sculptor by then, and Kai was kind enough to congratulate her on it.

On the bright side, Undine certainly knows where to find Alonso, and she ran into Hazel Hoffman in the library and befriended her, so... progress is being made.

if you have ever been to sulani, you might know how festive the people there are and how much they value their traditions and culture. 

as part of the royal family of sulani, the royal house of kahale, prince kai tries his best to modernise the island and the infrastructure while still paying respect and treasuring the culture and the spirit of the island. with 7 older siblings, kai’s chances of one day being king are very slim, and he therefore sometimes feels self-conscious , which pushes him to being a perfectionist in order to not disappoint his family. 

another reason for his perfectionism is his coming out story:  two years ago paparazzi caught him with another guy in a beach bar on his 20th birthday party and since then he is constantly followed by the press. his family took the news relatively well, the only thing his parents care about are grand children to continue the royal blood line. 

kai loves to be close to the townsfolk and loves to hold speeches and interviews, he sort of became the speaker of the royal family.

This is Milton Adams, and his daughter Janae.

Luna Wahine is his wife and Janae’s mom!

And this is where they live for now, but it’s a teeny one-bedroom so they’ll have to move or expand when Janae ages up.

Milton is still an asshole and he still doesn’t get along with his brother Alastair :(

Alastair actually has a super nice house so I’m calling jealousy here!

Luna, in contrast, gets along pretty well with Alastair’s wife Penelope.

And Janae... sort of gets along with her cousin Ephraim? I guess? It sucks that toddlers can’t interact with each other in this game; I’ve said it before, but TS3 toddlers were really phoned in.

While Undine and Dietmar, Troy, Jian, and Carlos were at the bistro, Youssef and Troy found leftover Stu Surprise in the fridge and ate that.

"Do you think she's into buff guys, Troy?"

"The fuck should I know?"

Then Brian came home.

Brian, what are you doing, honey?

"Fixing dinner!"

Do... do you have any cooking points.

"Zero!"

And you're clumsy. Well, this seems like a terrible idea, but I can't really stop you.

Back outside the bistro, I found that Undine had queued up Cast Good Luck Charm. Her intended victim target: Dietmar.

I'll be damned--it worked! I'm surprised because Undine hasn't developed her magic skills much at all. She does have a decent wand, though. Well, good, might've been awkward (but amusing) had she toadified him instead.

Let's see if Brian burned the house down!

Good job, Brian. You started off badly this morning, but I can't fault your finish.

Kiera's first steps were to her parent's radio. Turning up the volume to a song that greatly appeased her, it was at that moment when she allowed the music to fully consume her and move her entire being freely and gracefully. Through the years, her love for dance grew exponentially. Like many on her mother's side, born natives of Hawai'i, Kiera started with the hula. Her progression was thanks to her mother, who was and remains to be her kumu hula - quite literally translated as the 'source of knowledge'. And although the dance itself has evolved through the years, Kiera and her family still believe it to be a sacred ritual, and therefore she respected its origins and purpose far too much to take it to competition. Hula was in her blood, but her heart sought out for more.  Among her family and peers, Kiera is known for her unrelenting drive as much as she is known for her passion. This inevitably led to the exploration of other dances. She had tried as much as she could - from ballet to hip-hop, contemporary to tap. But none called out to her as strongly as ballroom dancing ever could. So it was to nobody's surprise that by the tender age of 6, she had already started training, taking up - and winning - her first competition at 7 years old. In time, she took it upon herself to learn and internalize all 24 different dances under the categories of Smooth and Latin Ballroom. Twenty years later, with numerous titles under her belt, she has yet to slow down. Striving to be the best of the best, she is routinely seen practicing every technique she could in order to hone her skills. Not one to stay static, she frequently travels to different countries for workshops and competitions, never allowing herself any room for complacency. Unfortunately, as admirable as her ambitions are, it is not without its downfalls: physically, mentally and emotionally. Much like her mother, Kiera is a force to be reckoned with, living her life through her heart and intuition.
