Kaeya slides a tall cocktail in front of the patron. It was a simple Long Island Iced Tea, garnished with a slice of lemon sat on the rim of the glass. He smiles coolly when their eyes meet. "It's on the house," he says in a casual tone. "You look like you could use the drink." As he began to mix another cocktail order, he continued. "You seem weary, friend. Rough day?"

Kaeyappreciation post!

Kaeya is wonderful in a sense that he:

Has a penmanship described as "Beautiful Handwriting". He for sure worked on that.

Willingly spends his time making sure his outfit looks perfect

Is well-loved by Mondstadt and the Dawn Winery staff

Is described to like a prince, both in looks and in actions

Is shown to be gentle and caring to children and elderly, most seen with Klee and the staff from Dawn Winery

Is a great listener and, therefore, also knows what gifts to buy based off of something someone said in passing

Is predominantly kind- unafraid to help out and defend someone in need. His first reaction is always kindness, and worry about covering up that kindness later on

But Kaeya also has his moments where he:

Says things out of pocket with enough alcohol in his system. Things that usually lead to shame and regret.

Would rather give others the credit for his hard work if he could help it

Intentionally makes himself look suspicious by withholding information and only throwing tidbits that are not of substance

Has sadist tendencies, which affects how he treats both his (cavalry) company and his enemies

Can and will use underhanded tactics to gain the upper hand

Rarely ever says what he truly wants to say

Has a fake smile. Usually lies or only deals with half truths.

He is such a complex character. I really do want people to appreciate him and his intricacies more. The fact that his entire personality and story is done so well and continues to actually grow and expand as the story progresses is something that genuinely makes me want to keep watch of him. I have never, in all my fandoms, stuck to a character as long as I did with Kaeya, and honestly? I know I'm not alone with this.

Winter was perhaps the most common to see Master Diluc away from his business, although usually only once night had painted the sky with stars. Many would whisper that he'd been seen standing in the center of what snow rested on the ground, the grass around his being uncovered as if it had only rained.

Tonight, however, he found himself hosting a certain calvary captain inside his home as the blizzard howled outside. There was little expectation for an overnight visitor, and all preparations for warmth had been focused on his employees, leaving Kaeya to fend for himself should he get cold as the power went out.

At least, he would be left on his own, if the winery tycoon hadn't been a walking heater and secretly concerned for the man. That was how he found himself draping the coat he had been wearing all day over shivering shoulders, the fabric warm as though Diluc himself had embraced him.

"Is there reason for your visit?" There was a warmth hidden beneath the chill in his voice with a hint of hope, a tone reserved for Kaeya on days the master did not want to admit to the care that ran deep through his veins and yet wished not to push him away, proven by hands lingering on shoulders for a moment too long.

“You know, normally fans ask for an autograph or a photo or a personalized message, but to think you’d have the gall to ask for a kiss? Now that’s just ludicrous.”

A teasing, lilted voice spoke between two figures that sat upon a couch within the Soaring Clock Hand’s lounge. There was little space between them as their voices remained hushed amongst them, the taller of the two wearing an amused, playful, toothy grin.

“Don’t get me wrong, I am honored to have been invited upon the darling ‘Celestial Baseballer’s ship, but surely the Nameless know how to practice self-restraint?”

Kaeya was being an absolute menace to his darling star, uncaring over the other guests that may be peeping on them or trying to eavesdrop into their conversation. At the very least, he knows he has security here, fortunate that his allies within the Astral Express wouldn’t allow any uncouth paparazzi or reporters trying to get in some cheap stories actually manage to do so. Hells, the Captain is quite the celebrity herself, so of course there would be measures put in place to prevent such a thing from occurring.

“To think Penacony’s savior would have such dastardly ulterior motives,” he sighs, dramatic as ever while pressing the back of his hand to his forehead after throwing his head back. “Why, I just might faint on the spot!”

The Calvary Captain from Mondstadt hadn't known the Dragon Sovereign of Liyue for long; their time together could have been considered short but sweet, even if Kaeya spent a lot of the time teasing the other in very subtle ways while alone together.

Kaeya had officially extended his stay in the nation of Geo a little bit longer and he wished to break the news himself; previously Kaeya had mentioned their next meeting may be the last for some time but that was no longer the case - mostly due to his own skills in negotiations which to anyone who knew him may not be surprised.

"My stay in Liyue has been extended. Looks like you have me to yourself for a while longer ~" The Knight at least made his presence known; which had been a previous issue with the feisty little dragon where they didn't wish to be snuck up on - yet made no argument to being handled while their back was turned towards Kaeya upon his arrival.

Regardless, Kaeya carefully took hold of the Sovereigns hand and pulled them closer so they were face to face. A soft chuckle as the Captain observed a precious look of surprise upon the others visage "I can now fulfill my promise sooner than expected? of course with your permission ~" he smiled, a hand reaching up and resting upon the dragons cheek with a thumb slowly caressing the region; the promise? which could have easily be a joke, Kaeya took it seriously, was they would make out the next time they met without a goodbye being attached to the end of the kiss.

Ever since the captain traveled to Sumerian lands, new tastes have been acquired. Others, already existing ones, simply refined and broadened. It is a pity that Mondstadt's bars and taverns usually stick to the alcohol culture and common practices of its nation. Kaeya could really use a nice glass of Arak.

If one cannot find what one seeks, however, one shall simply take matters into their own hands and delve further into the sea of creation. A genuine smile appears on the captain's features as he tries to recall the description bestowed by a local Sumerian bartender.

«Now... What was the recipe for Arak again...?» He muses aloud, unaware of any passerby.

Making his rounds on the city for the day, Kaeya hummed lightly to himself as his steps took him up towards the Cathedral. Something about today felt…strange. As though there’s tension, something charged in the air, waiting to crackle and explode. As far as he could tell, the people of Mondstadt were going about their day just fine.

However, Vile was not.

The moment she caught sight of Kaeya, she immediately rushed to meet him. She tried not to run, but her steps were hurried, and that alone already began to concern him. Something happened yesterday.

“Kaeya—there’s a lot of things going on right now, and it’s involving the Fatui and Master Diluc,” she muttered to him after pulling him somewhere slightly more discreet. That alone immediately blared cacophonous alarms in his head as his easy-going persona accidentally slipped into something more primal: fear. However, it was only there for a moment before it shifted into urgency.

“What happened, Vile?”

“Yesterday, a Fatui delegate approached your brother. I managed to somewhat catch sight of it, but I heard their conversation most. One of them knows who Master Diluc is, Kaeya—and while she didn’t do a thing to him, it wasn’t long for unrest to stir amongst the Fatui. She didn’t tell anyone directly, not that I’m aware of, but just as I was there to listen, so was someone else.”

This was…quite literally everything that Kaeya had been hoping, praying to someone, to avoid. The stress radiating off of him was palpable, and his teeth grit as his brows furrowed. There’s really not much that he can do himself about this situation, as it seems too many people within the Snezhnayan organization based in Mondstadt knows now. However, if they know, then they’ve surely sent out letters up the chain.

Whether those letters would be taken seriously or not was up in the air, but the fact that there is knowledge of Diluc residing here is enough for Kaeya to begin acting a little irrationally. Because if they know he's here, then eventually someone outside of Mondstadt will know too. In the chance that Diluc leaves the Nation of Freedom at any point, even if not to Snezhnaya, he can be in a lot more danger than he was before.

Fuck.

“Thank you, Vile,” he stated, curt, before shifting to head back down the stairs and towards the town square. His stride was full of purpose, and his expression no longer holding that cheery smile, but instead held a very grave expression. He knows he probably shouldn’t do anything, nor even make an announcement, without the approval of Jean. However, he knew she’d understand.

She had to.

As her second-in-command, he was willing to bet money on it. If not, then he’ll handle whatever disciplinary action she doles out to him later. For now, he was a man on a mission.

Taking his place before the fountain, facing the Goth Grand Hotel, Kaeya grit his teeth and narrowed his gaze towards the building before settling on some of the organization’s members that were already standing outside.

“If I may have the attention of all delegates and diplomats, as well as our citizens, I would like to make something very clear so there is no room for misunderstandings,” Kaeya began, his voice projecting loudly, resounding through the city’s paths.

“This is a formal reminder that none of the Fatui stationed in our city have any jurisdiction to enact any sort of protocol, make any arrests, or even dare to harm a hair on this Nation’s inhabitants. Should I, and for that matter any of the Knights, come to the knowledge that any foreign entity decided to take legal matters into their own hands, or act in vigilantism for any reason, they will be immediately expelled from Mondstadt without hesitation.

The Fatui must remember their place as they remain here if they intend on keeping relations between our Nations and commonwealth peaceful. There are no second chances when it comes to the safety of our people, and if you find issue with that, then I highly encourage you to leave the city proper, for good.

As mentioned, this is my formal reminder towards the Fatui as Mond’s Cavalry Captain, as well as your first and only warning that you will ever get.”

All while making his declaration, Fatui members began to peek out of their windows as well as flood out of the Hotel in order to hear the Ordo’s Quartermaster. He saw many expressions; irritation, anger, concern, disinterest, apathy, indignance and petulance. That’s fine. That’s exactly what he expected.

With his brows furrowed and a scowl upon his face, Kaeya made one final statement, “Prepare for the consequences should I ever catch wind of any of you harming, or even threatening, our citizens. That is all.”

With one last glower towards the Fatui delegates as the people of Mond began whispering and muttering to themselves, their expressions clearly nervous (whether regarding the announcement or towards the Fatui), Kaeya turned heel and began to make his way out of the city. He knew that there will probably be an assembly or meeting later over his insubordination, for stirring more tension and anxiety within the citizens of Mondstadt too, but right now he had his priorities and will deal with that later.

He needs to find Diluc.

"Heeeeey, Captain Kae-kae!"

He snatches the flapping end of Kaeya's cape, tugs on it to really make sure he's got his attention...! —and then promptly sidesteps, dipping his torso forward as he rounds him.

"Didja miss me? Huh? Didja? Didja, didja?"

Kokichi bounces on his toes, childlike excitement absolutely glowing. "You must've been soooooo bored! And even more miserable than usual!" //Kaeya's been at peace for too long u.u ... or at least the equivalent of "peace" for him.

Kaeya was in the midst of patrolling the city when the little troublemaker all but accosted him. To be fair, he'd known it was inevitable—and yet no one else could take him by surprise quite like Kokichi.

"Wha—hey, careful now!" The sudden resistance pulling at his cape made him stumble backward, but luckily he caught himself before the uneven cobblestone of Mondstadt's streets tripped him up. Once he was steady, Kaeya leveled Kokichi with a hand on his hip and an amused quirk of his visible brow.

"Oh, but of course. How could I not be absolutely miserable without you?" he returned easily, laying on the acting far thicker than usual with a hand to his chest and a half-pout. Despite the dramatics, the accompanying words weren't even a lie. Some days, Kokichi and his "gang" were all that added a bit of interest to otherwise monotonous days in the City of Boredom Freedom.

But a smirk ruined his act soon enough. "Well, judging by your obvious excitement to see me, I'd wager the same is true for you. It's expected, really; causing trouble is so much more fun when there's a risk of getting caught, hm?"
