Kabir Café or Neeraj Arya's Kabir Café is an Indian indie-folk and folk-fusion music band based in Mumbai. Originated in 2013, it consist of Neeraj Arya, founder and Mukund Ramaswamy, co-founder of the band along with other artists. History Neeraj Arya, the founder of the group and a self-taught artist started his music career as a solo-artist in early 2000s. As influenced form 15th century's saint Kabir and his guru Prahalad Singh Tipaniya, Arya started playing folk melodies of Kabir's dohas and sakhis. In 2012, performing on the streets of Mumbai as part of the non-profit Natural Streets for Performing Arts (NSPA), Arya met violinist Mukund Ramaswamy, and the two started performing as a duo. By the time, more artists joined the group and in late 2013 the group represented itself as Kabir Café. The band has released two albums, their debut 'Panchrang' in 2016 and their live album 'Kabir Café Live' in 2018, the band is most interested in live performances. “Amber!” she can hear a familiar voice call, “Campus won’t be the same without you.”

There’s an uncomfortable beat between the two. His arms split in a wide arc around her. Hers rise from her sides. Then, her eye catches the glint of his engagement ring. Had that always been there? Who -- ?

Her hands slacken at her sides again. She retreats a step. Her gaze lingers over his shoulder, on Isaiah’s back.

She offers Kabir a smile instead. “Hey, man! Thanks for making it out here.”

He smiles back. “Wouldn’t miss it for the world.”

Kabir pulls open the front door after her, but she's nowhere to be found. He watches after a taxi ambling down the street, its cab light flicked on. In the briefest of moments he catches the glimmer of sour yellow lamplight on her long black hair, and then nothing, as the cab light flicks off and the taxi drives out of view. He mops his brow with his hand. "Shit."

Kabir tires pretty quickly of watching Tom and his dad go back and forth on the bass upstairs. He drags a hand across his face, exhausted, as he roams downstairs to try and catch a moment of solitude. He hears his mother's and Abigail's voices commingling sweetly in a thoughtful but soft conversation. He overhears words shared about Wanda and Stephen, Abby's parents, whom his mother met just once before their deaths. A heavy silence blankets itself over the whole room, and then Abigail follows it up with a rushed and forcibly upbeat "Well, I really should be going now."
