The French animator Kévin Gemin is an institution. As far as I can tell, he is one of the most popular artists to create gif art, ever. One look at his work and and you can see why - watching his bouncy, silly and yet extremely skillful animations of animals doing all kinds of crazy things (many based on photos that he shows alongside his animation) just makes you feel.....happy. And, mostly done on a Nintendo 3DS in a program called FlipNote studio with just four colors.

At the time I just wanted to do some form of work, so I started animating off of my old dsi. It has a game called flipnote designed to be used to make simple easy animations.
Kévin Gemin is a French animator that animates on flipnote for the 3DS, his tumblr account: https://k-eke.tumblr.com/
They’re very effective for him since he uses them for short quick moments, a gif on loop. I just thought it would be interesting just to try this out, giving myself choices.
Another reason why I’m using this is because, I want to briefly test how I can start making clean animations. I’m reusing the scene of the boy picking up the flipnote as, those particular scenes are very messy. Also because a few people have told me that scene was very good, interesting and that suggested the scene has a great impact on people.
I want to refine that scene as a starting point, I need to figure out an animation style and other things like how am I going to animate this and etc. This is just me playing around and figuring out which way or type of animation do I want to pursue.
As if I did my animation off of my dsi it’s something very portable, exporting it wouldn’t be too difficult. But there’s limitations such as the size and tools of the dsi. It’s extremely simple to use, that’s good and bad in it’s own right. Good because it’s very easy to use, bad because there’s only so much you can do.
