i finally found a way to articulate something thats bothered me since i was just starting out on the internet (so like, 12 years or so sghjdhd) that there is a certain argument from a certain subset of shippers of a certain water bender and fire prince who rail against a.ang for kissing k.atara without consent twice (which is yes, bad in the real world but used for narrative reasons both times) and not apologizing

yeah, i not the greatest not the only "unaddressed" thing by the end, but also a.ang is a child, just to remind, with a lot on his mind atm

and they present the alternative ship as superior for those reasons. while yes, those two do reconcile, she never explicitly apologizes with words for giving him a cold, 100% serious death threat right to his face

this is not rlly that widespread in of itself, just an example of ppl trying to co opt morality into their ships (where all the participants are 16 or younger mind u, its mainly adults trying to justify childhood interests who do this) when it pleases them and pleases them only

i love l/ars barriga, l/apis lazuli, r/ose quartz, and s/teven universe himself (and rlly ALL su characters are flawed)

i love k/atara and z/uko (atla)

and hey! i love GLIMMER! bc she's a flawed character too! but i never see you guys defending her, if anything you hate her precisely bc she's flawed, lol. i bet the same counts for all the other characters i included here.

I finally started watching A*TLA (the animated series) 19 years too late, but here are my thoughts so far on the characters:

A*ang: He’s so sweet & adorable. I love him. He’s like a little brother to me. Has the purest heart.

K*atara: Truly a breath of fresh air after watching countless useless heroines in other media. I think she’s beautiful, tough, highly intelligent, observant, not afraid to be bossy or angry, and calls people out on their bullshit—but she’s also very caring, loving, and kind. She reminds me a lot of Devasena from the Baahubali films (and myself, hehe). All heroines should be like this!!!

S*okka: Never has a character made me laugh more. I think he’s hilarious and I love his sense of humor.

T*oph: I absolutely adore her. She’s so cute, funny, and tough.

Z*uko: In another life, he and Sasuke would’ve been besties. Z would be the nicer of the two 😂

I*roh: I think he’s funny & witty and I like how he treats his (sometimes mannerless) nephew as his own son.

O*zai: DILF in a “Dad I’d Like to Fight” way but he’s also a baddie?

A*zula: Everything about this character annoys me (especially her voice) and I don’t like her at all.

T*y Lee: She’s cute but gives off certain vibes…iykyk

M*ai: UGLY AS SIN!!! KILL IT WITH FIRE!!!

Princess Y*ue: So gorgeous and her story was sad yet beautiful :(

S*uki: SHE IS MY EVERYTHING!!! I LOVE HER!!!

K*yoshi Warriors: Flawless queens, all of them.

H*aru: He was soooooo cute and sweet but that mustache? GOTTA GO.

J*et: I LOVE HIMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!! He truly was charming, roguish, and an excellent fighter. Teenage me would have fallen for him in a heartbeat.

Usually I tend to dislike the heroes and often side with the villains, but the ones in this show annoyed me and I found them unlikeable. I love the main gang and was rooting for them at all times. I also really love the world building, lore, and cultural references. It’s all so fascinating.

I know this hellsite is incapable of engaging with media beyond shipping and doesn't understand even unsubtle visual language, but if you actually paid attention to what was onscreen, the finale made a point of showing the crew members of those downed airships alive and standing around, like, no children's cartoon is going to have a bunch of kids kill hundreds of people, stop acting like this is some kind of hardcore super dark subversive media, also, K/atara ultimately chooses not to kill her mother's murderer and this is presented as the morally right choice and her liking would be her losing her way, so idk where the fandom adults are getting this idea that the show supported her desire to kill as a positive thing other than the thing people do where they twist a show's politics to match their own to justify liking it on moral grounds instead of just enjoying it critically.

Idk man I really don’t like Bryke’s whole shoulder angel/devil comment on TSR. Rubs me the wrong way. Aang is absolutely right in the scenario and the episode drills that in but like.. you gotta look at the context of these characters... quoting that one post Aang is very much like someone who’s already been in therapy whereas Zuko has very obviously Not so it’s pretty easy to see why they initially have conflicting views

even if someone insists to be that sasu/saku is healthy... its still just such a terrible ship dynamic. the worst ship trope ever is when a fanbase turns the female lead into "quirky self-insert girl uwu" and turning the anti hero-esque guy into "brooding hot guy with a soft spot for his waifu <333".

Bueno, primero te digo que estoy totalmente de acuerdo contigo de que existen países con peor vida que México. Y lo se porque mientras dibujaba a los country’s de América ( el dibujo pixel) me leía algunas cosas, de las cuales me da mucha tristesa. Como tu dices, Cuba y Haití que viven en represión o pobreza extrema.

Lo que pasa aquí en mi mundo de los Country’s humans, es mas un relato de historia de fantasía y no tanto un relato real. Claro tambien tomo hechos reales de nuestra vida para desarrollar la historia, no olvidemos que son countryhumans, y están hechos para ser nuestros países en historia. 

 Pues el personaje Sur, es un representante olvidado, echado y sin rumbo, lo que hizo que nada lo atara a sus tierras, haciendo que el pudiera salir y hacer lo que quiera.

Pero tambien le trajo consecuencias, los cuales son ya vista con las organizaciones corruptas como NARCO. Que tras años de lucha sin resultados, le trajo problemas físicos y mentales.

Dando en la historia de Sur.

Si me pusiera mas creativa y mas trabajadora, a la hora de dibujar, hasta hablaría mas de Centroamérica y el Caribe. Pero no lo logro como ya explique en otras preguntas.

Aunque claro, si alguna persona me pidiera hablar de tal pais, yo lo hago, por ejemplo si alguien me preguntara de Cuba y porque el es el representante de los ojos rojos, se lo diría, pero claro, me tomo mi tiempo a la hora de explicar.

Tampoco le exigiré a mis seguiros que pregunten de tales países, esto son preguntas que ellos quieran hacerme, es libre básicamente.

Para finalizar, si hay países con peor economía, salud, vivienda, etc etc. pero recordemos que aquí están viendo a países con poderes que podrían destruir todo.

OMG so.... firstly I love trans Katara and its actually my main hc for her! Sadly theres not much trans Katara content that aligns with my interpretations of her.. or trans Katara content at all........ and going into the tag you’ll see those “Katara is a CISHET ALLY QUEEN while everyone else is gay and trans” posts so yea i avoid the tag, double sadly. This fandom does her so dirty on so many levels 

Non-binary Aang is also a main hc. t4t kataang wins. Toph is highkey she/her transmasc to me, “pronouns =/= gender” queen. And I LOVE agender Mai 

All the other characters, I kinda bounce around, Im not stubborn with queer hcs cus i love seeing how different ppl connect with different characters!! In general I prefer to think of most characters as at least gnc cis, I think its cus of my autism-induced disconnection from the gender binary so im always like
