Something I find frustrating is how many things JVP and antizionist Jews get criticized for are things that the early Reform movement did. I mean, changing the prayer language from Hebrew? Classic Reform movement, and what caused Rabbi Zacharias Frankel, often seen as the spiritual father of the Conservative movement. Removing any mention of Jerusalem from prayers? Why, yes, early Reform rabbis did that! They actually had a whole thing about how they're [insert nationality] of Moses' Faith, and how Jerusalem is now [insert capital city]!
I'm aware of how the Reform movement changed its views towards Zionism. And it's great! Flexibility is among the Reform movement's virtues! But when I see people saying things like "Zionism is inherent to Judaism and has been part of our culture for centuries, it's irremovable", I wonder what they have to say about the early Reform movement. Because they clearly still see them as legitimate within Judaism, so the claim that Zionism can't be removed from Judaism rings hollow.
I am a Zionist, make no mistake, and I agree that the longing for Jerusalem is inherent in Judaism. I am also Orthodox, though, which might affect my views on the Reform movement.
One more note: the JVP tendency towards syncretism with Pagan practices isn't actually an early Reform thing. It might be closer to the Canaanite movement, though I don't know much about it and it was kind of Zionism-adjacent - though the members may have considered Palestinian Arabs to also be Canaanite, so JV might find themselves capable of liking them.

Shauna Shipman x Artist Reader thoughts
cw: nothing, pretty much just fluffy stuff
thinking about being the person who does the photography for Wiskayok's soccer teams (JV, men's, women's), and you have the biggest crush on the girls.
You're an artist, you know beauty, you see it everywhere.
So of course you can't stop yourself from doing some sketches of the girls while they practice... admiring their form and physique in your little sketchbook.
You've become a regular. Obviously because you're just waiting to take photos for the school newspaper... Totally because of that...
You're favourite one of them to draw is Shauna. She's solid with muscle in the arms and legs, her abs are defined but rounded, her frustratingly ethereal permanent pout, those big brown eyes, her standoffish personality. It's captivating to you.
You get invited on the trip to Nationals when the girls win to take the photos, besides, Lottie's dad can afford it.
When you crash, well, turns out your science skills and the anatomy skills that piggyback off of those pay off when you're faced with the plane crashing.
You have a vivid imagination. But in a million years? Never this.
You're more than faithful to help out with the wounded, but you get pretty damn seclusive, and you don't write or draw as much in your notebook.
When you all find the cabin you end up sleeping up in the attic because at night you run hot.
Only for Shauna to accidently mix up your journals/notebooks one dark and sleepy night and come across your sketches of the team, specifically her, and all the praise you've written, your admiring words towards her physique and skill.
She has half a head to register it, reading all the words. Words she's been waiting to hear all her life, words she's just frothing at the mouth for. Looks she's tearing at the soil for, to break free from that coffin that has her dug alive under the shadow of something she can't beat.
She carefully puts your journal back, keeping in mind the pages that praise her teammates and hold their images as well.
She doesn't fall asleep that night. Spending her time just gazing at your sleeping body in the light of the moon that reflects off the singular window in the attic onto your form.
She's a lot nicer to you after that night. You don't quite understand why she offers to take your chores, or give you some of her scraps. Or why she sneaks glances at you and starts to hang off of Jackie's side less.
Although you do notice an interesting smudge of a dried liquid, like water, that's burnt into the middle of the page with one of your sketches of Shauna Shipman with your words and thoughts on the girl.
You figure it must have just been some sweat from your hand, and close your notebook. Ready to start a new day of surviving in the summer wilderness you've found yourself in.
Send reqs for c.ai bots or short blurbs✌️

emily’s endless list of ocs ✨ ↳ ana martinez, eat your young 🫀 ↳ ( in•sp )
Ana Martinez does not survive in the end.
She does not live to see her mother again, to play another game of soccer, or win another debate competition. She does not grow old, she doesn’t get married, she doesn’t see her older brother find peace. All she does is wither and rot, as all things do.
But Ana Martinez is not all dead, not fully. She lives on in the memories of the survivors, of those that got to see the plane that saved them. She haunts them, they see her in their periphery, in the gentle laugh of a girl, the breeze in autumn, the biting chill of a winter’s night. Because Ana Martinez is dead, but she is the reason they all survived.
Seventeen, almost eighteen, Ana was almost out of New Jersey, and she was going to go out with a Bang! She’d been the team’s Left-Winger since she’d graduated from JV when she was freshly fifteen, and despite being the Coach’s daughter, nobody could deny her being one of the strongest players on the team. She was a shoo-in for a full-ride scholarship to the University of North Carolina, she was going to be a star player and get a business degree while doing it. But first they had to win at Nationals.
Ana liked to believe that what happened next was the consequence of three things.
1. Taissa Turner breaking Ally’s leg, tearing it apart, right down to the bone.
Ana knew it was a bad idea, she’d argued against it, when Tai had proposed the idea to the small group of players. She’d stood strong beside her fellow Winger, Natalie Scatorccio, pleaded for them to see sense. But Tai was headstrong, and she wanted to win, and that wasn’t going to happen if Ally was on the field with them.
Ana figured she didn’t fight enough.
2. The Yellowjackets being prideful, arrogant, and sometimes, downright mean.
It wasn’t their fault, any of them. Ana and the rest of the team, they were just kids - teenage girls, most of which hadn’t even hit eighteen yet. Teenage girls are mean, they tear at your throat with words of poison, and teeth filed to sharp points – they pick you apart piece by piece, they consume your very being until they spit you back up, a perfect mold of themselves.
Each of the Yellowjackets had a vice, something that made them imperfect, something that made them wrong.
Ana wasn’t sure if it was the fact that she liked girls or the fact that she liked to throw eggs at the houses of kids who pissed her off that made her wrong.
She just knew that she was.
3. Ana Martinez telling her father she hated him.
Sure, Mr. Martinez wasn’t perfect, he wasn’t a particularly good father, he was harsh and stern and cared all too much about soccer than he did about his children, but he was still her father. He worked harder than anyone she’d ever known, he made sure that she had whatever she needed, and when she was hurt – emotionally, physically, whatever it may be – he made sure to pat her on the head and slip a plate of sopapillas under her bedroom door.
And the truth was that Ana loved her father, more than anything else in the world – even if he hadn’t told her he loved her in two years, even if he frowned more than he smiled. But he had upset her, in the way that only he could. Instead of congratulating her for their big win, for saying how excited he was for them to go to nationals, for telling her he was proud of her, he had critiqued her.
Ana had never been good at receiving critique from her father, but this time, when she’d been coming down from such a high, she simply couldn’t handle it, which is why she’d yelled.
So, this was why Ana believed they’d crashed, why they had to do what they had to do, endure what they endured. Ana believed that the reason she died was because no matter how hard she worked to help everyone, to make sure the team stayed together and stayed alive, it didn’t matter, because at her core, Ana Martinez was a girl, and she was twisted, wrong.
This is why she didn’t make it.

does allie ever think about akilah, specifically as the girl who took her place on the flight?
this question is such cj bait especially after i’ve spent the last few days only thinking about akilah wearing allie’s jersey…. but yes! she does.
she mostly thinks about the team as a whole with the absence of her. she doesn’t personally resent any of them — other than taissa in a way, because allie saw herself as the player that would be just as good as her when she was her age, looked up to her because of that, often tried to follow her lead — only to end up hurting her. and i think it’s important to note that allie is mostly oblivious that the older girls don’t really like her / think she’s annoying / etc. even when jackie is the kindest to her, genuinely trying to help, allie brushes it off because she doesn’t put much stock into how they treat her. given that she was asked to prom, she probably hangs out with a lot of upperclassman anyway, but she mostly doesn’t care about making friends within the team. she thinks she’ll excel based on how good she is and that the team will just accept her because of that, like it’s obvious. but just because she’s good doesn’t mean she was ever really ready for the pressure she met during an actual game — which is why we see her choke. it’s not because she’s bad at soccer. it’s because the pressure gets to her and she won’t let the upperclassmen actually help her through it, like jackie tries (“i’m not nervous.”)
but akilah is someone she does think about personally. it’s not even just that akilah replaced her on the roster once allie was hurt. they kind of switched spots completely. akilah was brought to the varsity team last minute to join them for nationals while allie was left behind, with a jv team that is canonically bad and doesn’t win many games, in comparison to the undefeated varsity team. and allie was a freshman — she was never playing for jv, immediately making the varsity team because she was that good, that young (and she loves to remind people!) so there’s a part of her that felt like she’s superior to the jv team just because of that, which is ridiculous, but she’s young and dumb and thrives on the praise she got for being so good at such a young age and assumed that she would only thrive more throughout her high school years, becoming the best of the best. and honestly, i think allie cares less about soccer than she cares about just being perceived as really impressive.
so akilah is brought to nationals, allie is left behind with the jv team, and come the following season, that shitty jv team who barely wins any games is now forced to step up and fill the role of the undefeated varsity team — already with so much pressure — and now with so much more attention on them, because the plane still hadn’t been found, and soccer season is probably hitting so much harder for the community. allie went from playing for an undefeated team to playing for a shitty one, and in the past year, she’s spent all that time feeling like all her accomplishments with the varsity team have been entirely erased, because she didn’t go to nationals, didn’t go missing, and she was no longer a name the community knew well because of it. she faded into irrelevancy.
this could mean she’s actually the best player on the team now, but she’s more in her head than ever, something she already struggled with, feeling like she’s supposed to be the one to step up as the sole varsity player left behind, but she can’t. she doesn’t know how. i think she would’ve been better at stepping up once most of that team graduated anyway, but it’s because of how they lost them that she doesn’t know how. and she never paid much attention to pep talks from players like jackie, so she can’t exactly turn around and give those same pep talks to the rest of the team. but i think akilah was good at that with these specific players, and i think her specific absence is very apparent to the rest of the team, and they’re not afraid or reminding allie of that.
and allie does not resent akilah for replacing her. i think, when she allows herself to be afraid of what they’re all going through, she is most scared about what akilah is going through. it’s not allie’s fault that akilah met whatever fate she did, but it’s thinking about akilah that forces her to actually consider her own fate had she been with them. she presents herself mostly as someone who acts like she should’ve been with them, mostly to keep herself relevant even to herself, but when she thinks about akilah, that’s when she actually thinks deeper than that and genuinely fears for what they’re all experiencing. because it’s not allie’s fault she’s there, but also…. if allie was as solid as she thought she was, would she have still gotten hurt? would akilah ever have to endure what she did?
in the memorial at the school, akilah’s photo is separated from the others in its own frame, because she was not in with the varsity photos. so it’s something allie sees every single day, her face emphasized while she also has to see herself in that memorial, with the rest of the varsity team, yet back here, without them. i think this is the hardest part for her. she never got the chance to know akilah and now she wonders, if she’s alive out there, if she resents allie (she does not, of course). allie probably didn’t even know akilah went in her place until the plane went missing and people started reporting on it — so when she sees her name on the list, that’s when she firsts realizes that akilah is there because allie is not. so seeing her face in the memorial, reading her name in news articles, and then seeing the way the jv team is feeling the abscence of akilah specifically — it all brings a very specific kind of pain to allie.
#answered#study: allie.#meta: allie.#was going to take an allie break through the season but how can i resist this….#i thought i wrote a hc about this before but maybe it was just from the other side#cant ever stay on subject with allie gotta side rant constantly

Greg Owen at LGBTQ Nation:
Fox News host Jesse Watters continues to impress with his imbecilic takes on gender, anything gay, trans issues — and now what he’s mischaracterizing as “gender season.” In a recent Fox News segment which Watters calls “DEI Thursday,” the one-time “funny” Fox contributor and now pale imitation to Tucker Carlson twisted a nuanced personal video narrative, made by U.K. nonbinary activist Dee Whitnell, into a mocking takedown of a concept way over the JV host’s head. In Whitnell’s video, released earlier this month, they talk about how their gender expression is affected by the seasons. “I feel more masculine in the summertime. I wear more masculine clothing, I wear shorts. I normally have my hair up more and I just feel more ‘boy’, whereas in the winter – for some reason – girl mode comes out and I’m loving skirts and dresses and having my hair down.”
“This isn’t saying that all trans individuals experience this because that’s just not the case, or that seasons determine your gender identity or expression. However, it can influence it,” Whitnell explained. They described the concept as “genderseason”. For Watters and the far-right outrage machine, the video was music to their ears — and an invitation to ridicule. With a Grinch smile spreading across his pancaked face, Watters snarked with glee. “Bonfires, sandy beaches, pool parties, barbecues. Don’t you love summer? I love summer so much I’m thinking of identifying as it. It’s called gender season,” he said. “My pronoun: spring. But I might transition to summer.” Like notorious takes on kids identifying as cats and classrooms filled with litter boxes, Watters’s lame comedy twisted Whitnell’s sincere and worthy thesis into an object of derision, mischaracterizing it as young people identifying as seasons.
Jesse Watters: unfunny moron.

Spy Deal
Pairing: Charlie Conway x fem!reader
Summary: Coach Orion has a little job for his younger sister.
Warnings: Charlie's anger issues lol
A/N: I think I'll make a part 2 for this.
Word Count: 1.9k
Coach Bombay had heard wonders about you, since he had met Ted Orion, to him you were the best marketer in the Hockey world, of course, Orion was a bit biased considering you were his younger sister. You had controlled advertisements for some of the biggest teams in the USA, even the National team. At your ripe age of sixteen you were really making a name for yourself.
"Y/N!" Your older brother called through to you, for a few years you had been living in Minneapolis with your brother, his wife and your niece, Jen.
You left your bedroom and walked down the wooded corridor to the living room, "yeah what's up?"
"I have a little research job for you, perhaps you could help me learn more about this new team I'm taking on this year," he told you, offering you a seat on the sofa across for him.
You were instantly interested, your work had been quiet ever since the local hockey team had moved on to bigger things, "yeah I would be happy to help, under one condition."
He let out a chuckle, despite being twenty-two years older than you, you always had a price when it came to a bit of help, "okay, okay, you help and I we go on a brother-sister laser tag and sweetie shop run. Just like the old days."
"Oh my god! Yes! We haven't done that since I was like nine!" You grinned, reminiscing about your ninth birthday where your parents both had meetings all day so Ted took you out.
He smiled softly before continuing, "I have a new team coming via scholarships, they like to call themselves the Ducks, they won the Junior Goodwill Games last season."
"I'll be through with whatever I find later, then it's shooting time buddy!" You chuckled, standing up.
"Whatever you say baby sister," he mocked, drawing his attention back to his television as you left the room.
You quickly ran back to your room and flung yourself into your office chair and turned on your computer, after a few minutes your home screen appeared. You hummed a little tune as you opened up the internet.
"I'm sure there will be some newspaper files about them," you spoke to yourself, finding the local Minneapolis news paper. Despite the world wide web being a new phenomenon the archives were easy to access.
You slowly grew more intrigued as stories of this so-called 'wonder team' popped up, you filtered the site to only show clippings that contained the words 'ice hockey', 'ducks' and 'Bombay', their coach and a close friend of your brothers.
More and more clippings came up, this team were incredible, you had noticed that they had 4 'star' players, Captain Charlie Conway, Adam Banks and the Bash Brother, Fulton Reed and Dean Portman. They had even beaten Iceland's team, which was coached by the Wolf, a well-respected genius in the hockey world.
• • •
Bombay felt much more at ease knowing his beloved team would be passed onto the great Ted Orion, and after learning of your work in the hockey industry, he was thrilled that the ducks could gain even more attraction.
However, the Ducks were not too fond of their new coach, he had stripped Charlie of his captaincy and had taken away the team's spirit. They were no longer the ducks, they were Eden Hall's JV team.
"They hate me it's impossible to work with!" Ted groaned as you were all sat around the dinner table, knees deep in yet another of his rants.
Jen, who always tried to see the best in a situation spoke, "who knows, they might just be scared of you?"
"Darling, I don't think so," he smiled almost sadly.
"How about this, I can come with you to practise sit at the side and see if I can get some information off of them, I'll try to see why they haven't taken a liken to you." You suggested, Ted seemed to enjoy this suggestion as he nodded slightly.
"Are you sure they would talk to you?" Your sister-and-law asked, "I mean you are the younger sister of their coach."
"Well I am the same age as most of them, they might feel like they could say something." You answer, hoping you were right.
• • •
"Gather round team," your brother called, before growing impatient, "god gave you legs for a reason, use them!"
They all grumbled while they skated over, stopping in a messy semi-circle around you and him, peculiar looks on their faces.
"You may be wondering who this is-" Orion began before getting cut off by a tall looking boy with brown hair.
"Y'all that's Y/N! That girl who made that team in Chicago mega-famous!" He shouted.
"The team can't be that famous if you don't know the name, Dwayne," another boy quipped back, this one had off-black hair and was shorter than this Dwayne character.
"Yes Dwayne, this is the Y/n and she is my younger sister, she's just here to supervise the game. She finally decided that lying in her bed all day fawning over Michael J Fox in Back to the Future wasn't being productive." He introduced you, his last comment making you shake your head and flush.
They all exchanged looks, before yet another boy, this time you recognised as Charlie Conway, spoke up, "What age is she, shouldn't she be a bit older if she's your sister?"
"I'm sixteen, our mum had him quite young," you clarified. "Okay Ted, I'm going to go sit down." The team's uproar started again after hearing that their new coach's name is Ted. You laughed, something so normal was causing quite the stir.
The practice wasn't anything interesting, just some drills and a mock game to finish. You were brought out of the trance, that you had caught yourself in when the sound of skates dragging to a halt in front of you.
It was girl who had a long plait in going down her back, "Hi, I'm Connie!"
"Y/N, it's lovely to meet you," you smiled.
She smiled back before pondering her next question, "does coach Orion always act grumpy?"
You laughed slightly, "no, don't worry, he does really want to see you all succeed but he just doesn't know how to get around it."
"Well he doesn't act like it, look!" Connie gestured to the rest of the team, who were all shooting at Goldberg as Orion barked out orders. That's when you noticed that one of the players who had played with them since the PeeWees wasn't there.
"Connie, is there not meant to be another boy, he's blonde, wears number ninety-nine?" You inquired, looking back at the girl.
She smiled slightly, "awe yeah, Banks, he plays for Varsity now." She spoke, almost proud of her ex-teammate. "Well, I better get back to practising, we need to speak again Y/N!"
You grinned, "definitely!"
the girl skated away, lapping around some of the other players, then shooting a puck past Goldberg into the net.
When practise finished Ted approached you, "so did you speak to anyone?"
"Only Connie, she's super nice, but she thinks you're dead grumpy." You answered, this made him frown slightly.
"I know this is a lot to ask, but do you think you could find Conway and try to talk to him?" He asked, a glint of pleading in his eyes.
You smiled, "yeah I'll speak to him, just because I love you so very much," you teased lightly, which caused him to gently slap the back of your head.
"You're a cheeky prick," he laughed, helping you up.
"That's what you get for having a sixteen-year-old sister when you're thirty!" You grinned back, walking off the ice with your beloved older brother.
• • •
You spotted the brunette boy in the distance walking out of Eden Hall, quickly, you jogged after him.
"Charlie!" You called out, which made him turn around.
He grimaced when he saw you fast approaching, "what do you want?"
"I just want to talk, you seemed kind of," you hummed. You tried to think of a way to make this sound like you weren't being bitchy, "agitated, earlier."
He huffed slightly, "Obviously, have you seen my coach!"
"Hey! Let's remember that's my brother!" You faked annoyance before laughing.
This made him smile, "Fine we can talk, under one condition."
"Woah there Conway, take me out for dinner then we can see where it goes!" You joked, making him flush under the blinding sun.
He shook his head sheepishly, "no! Not like that, I meant to buy me ice cream!" He scrambled out, "if you buy me ice cream, I'll talk to you about anything you want."
You pondered his requirement, "are you asking me on a date Conway?"
"It's a get-together, not a date! Don't be so silly!" He groaned.
You chuckled at his comment, "come on!" You cheered, beckoning him to follow you towards the seafront. Where an ice cream truck would roll on by tweeting out a chirpy tune at exactly ten past five every evening.
The pair of you reached the boardwalk next to the swirling sea just in time to hear the merry tune which signified it was ice cream time. Charlie immediately sped-walked over to where the truck would park and scowled at you as you slowly traipsed over.
"Okay, number ninety-six what are you for having?" You quipped looking up at the boy.
"Two scoops, chocolate orange and vanilla," he answered back after studying the array of flavours intently.
You only smiled at him before going up to the window, "a two scoop cone of chocolate orange and vanilla," you hummed, "and a rocket ice lolly for me."
"That'll be four dollars and fifty cents, doll," the woman in the truck said, handing Charlie both of the sweet treats while you reached for a five-dollar note then slid it over to her.
"Thank you!" You grinned, taking your ice lolly from Charlie.
"Since we never introduced ourselves directly to each other," you spoke before tasting your lolly. "I'm Y/N Orion, I'm sixteen and I grew up in Tampa."
Charlie gave you an odd look before reluctantly speaking, "I'm Charlie Conway, ex-captain of the Ducks and the USA team and I'm also sixteen. Oh and I'm from Minneapolis."
"Lovely to meet you, Charlie Conway!" You smiled towards him, a smile which he returned apprehensivley.
You grabbed his free hand and pulled him towards a free bench and sat down, indicating him to sit down next to you.
"So, Y/N what brings you to Eden Hall?" He asked.
"Well I don't go to school there but Ted just wondered if I could help him gain some information on the players." You explained, Charlie didn't seem to be fond of this answer.
"So you're only here right now with me for some sort of spy deal?" He accused, anger radiating off of him.
"No! Of course not, he just wanted to know how to get you guys working as a team!" You defended, hoping this answer would calm him down.
He scoffed, "well excuse me, we are a team, the ducks, it's just Orion is not a part of it!"
"Come on Charlie! He just wants whats best for you!" you pleaded.
He huffed again and silently got up and stormed away, you quickly followed him, "Charlie, he doesn't mean anything bad!"
•••
You trudged back into the Orion household, swiftly going to your room and slamming the door.
"Y/N you good?" Ted shouted over towards your room, there was a lengthy silence that followed which made him enter your room.
"Charlie hates me!"

kuroken au where kenma's new bf turns out be to be a national topic of discussion. people want to know who world famous kodzuken is dating, all they know is that he's dating a man, so maybe a multi-talented handsome actor or another hotshot CEO or a beefy sports player or a glamorous model or another influential figure he met at some extravagant ritzy event.
the tabloids are insane every time they get a clue of what they believe to be the hottest story of the month because they want a power couple reveal. so they get hints like "the silhouette of kodzuken's bf was super tall!!", "kodzuken was spotted at the airport several times, what if his bf is a mega-rich foreigner!!!", "Kodzuken boyfriend muscular????", "kodzuken spotted at volleyball game AGAIN, what player is his beau????"
at some point they find out it's kuroo, kodzuken's childhood best friend and hardworking jv employee, which the paparazzi finds utterly disappointing and such an unoriginal logical conclusion to what kodzuken's bf would be and move on to the next thing: bokuto's tax fraud allegations
kenma doesn't even give a statement since he doesn't care and kuroo only finds out about it when he reads a headline on the internet that reads "kodzuken's boyfriend finally revealed and he's super boring" which he's offended by
and when he asks kenma about it, he's like "am I boring??" and kenma's like "yeah" and kuroo's disappointment grows, but it instantly goes away when kenma pulls him down to cuddle for the rest of the day, because kuroo may be boring, but kenma loves him for it

Gynarchy Bill
Following the last national elections, the The Feminist Empowerment Movement for Demotion Of Males (FEMDOM party) swept the entire country and won a historic victory. Newly elected State Senator Joan Femino soon introduced a new Gynarchy Bill requiring schools to diversify ensuring all girls had an opportunity to join any sports team. At the last minute a few amendments were quickly added to the bill, with a rush to vote on the bill no one noticed that one of the amendments would ban all boys 16 and younger from playing in any school sponsored sporting events. The bill passed and was signed by the new female governor.
The new school year was an exciting time for the children of St.Andrew’s. The new regulations forbidding boys from playing any sports were not applied uniformly across the country yet but the feminist leadership of St. Andrew's High School decided to apply them fully and immediately. Inspired by Emily and the other football playing girls nearly 70 girls tried out for the football team. Coach Barbara Collins had heard time deciding who to pick so she created a JV team too.
For James and his friends, things were very different for the start of the new school year. The boys long ago gave up fighting and just accepted their fate. None of them were surprised when the school introduce an all boy cheerleading team coached by James’s mother Ellen. The former sports loving boys now found themselves in short white and blue skirts (the same color as girls’ football uniforms) and holding pompoms.
Emily had spent all summer at a prestigious football camp. She applied her new skills to lead St.Andrew’s to undefeated season and the all girls’ team was invited to big out of state football tournament where they planned to crush the remaining all boy teams.
Finally, the big game had arrived. Emily, Rose and other girls were not nervous instead confident even thou it had been years since St.Andrew’s, packed with boys only, had beaten their long-time rivals, St.Lawrence. As everyone lined up, the headmistress went to the mic and welcome all the guests to the big event, including State Senator Joan Femino, one of the headmistress’ feminist friends. Along with the Senator were a television crew who were going to film the event, broadcasting it on TV and an internet live stream.
Saturday morning was quite busy, Emily and the football girls met up with coach Collins for some final planning for the big game against St.Andrew’s arch rival St.Lawrence. Several of the boys from that team had made nasty remarks online about girls playing football. Ms. Collins had instructed a few of the bigger girls to make sure they got after St.Lawrence’s star quarterback Nick Harper. She told the girls I want to see his ass on the ground after every play.
While the girls focus on the big football game, James and his friends were busy with getting their final cheerleading outfits fitting. Karen and the mothers fussed over their son’s outfits, hair and makeup. To say it was torture on the boys would be an understatement. The mother’s on the other hand took great pleasure dressing their sons up for the big day.
As Emily and the girls battled St.Lawrence in a tough match. James and friends had no choice but to cheer in their pretty outfits waiting for the game to end. None of the boys said anything and just looked stunned and sad as they realized things were going to change forever. From now on it was the girls of St.Andrew’s who would be the sport stars, while the boys would be the ones forced into fancy frocks and made to look pretty.
At half time St.Lawrence took at 20 to 7 lead. Nick Harper the star quarter for Lawrence stopped and make several comments to James and his friend, “It’s too bad the boys of St.Andrew’s are a bunch of sissies who like wearing skirts and playing with dolls”. Ms. Collins overheard the comment and instructed the girls on defense to make Nick pay. Early in the 3rd quarter Nick went back to pass when Rose came around his blind side and drove the boy into the ground. Nick soon left the field limping. Emily rubbed his injury in, telling Nick “I am sure we have an extra cheerleading outfit so you can join the rest of the prissy boys”. Nick was furious when his coach would not let him play anymore.

Emily soon led St.Andrew’s into the lead and they end up crushing St.Lawrence 42 to 20. With the big win Emily, Rose and other football playing girls were big sports heroes. Thanks to the TV broadcast and internet live stream the battle of the sexes and the girl’s triumph comeback win were seen by millions. Recalcitrant schools and school boards had then no choice but to fully comply with the law.
Following their crushing defeat, the St. Lawrence boys' team was disbanded and replaced, like everywhere else in the country, by an all-female team, which is supported by its new male cheerleaders and their leader Nick Harper.
