#juvia is overrated

Juvia's use of objectifying pet names is a pattern in her communication and behavior towards Gray. She tends to reduce him to just his physical appearance or a specific aspect of his being, rather than recognizing him as a complete person with complex thoughts, feelings, and personality traits. This objectification is disrespectful and suggests a limited and shallow understanding of Gray as an individual.
Juvia's repeated use of objectifying and sexualizing comments towards Gray could suggest that she is diminishing his personhood and reducing him to a sexual object. This type of behavior is dehumanizing and disrespectful to Gray, as it fails to recognize his complexity as an individual and reduces him to a mere object of desire. It is not appropriate to treat someone in this way, and it can be damaging to their self-esteem and emotional well-being.
it's likely that if Gray's physical appearance were to change significantly, Juvia's interest in him would likely decrease. Her romantic fixation on Gray is heavily based on his attractive appearance and physical characteristics, and it's possible that if he no longer fit her ideals, she may lose interest. This highlights the shallowness and superficiality of her affection for him, as it is primarily focused on his physical attributes rather than on his true character or personality.
Juvia's attraction towards Gray seems to be based almost entirely on her own fantasy and idealization of him. She does not appear to love him for who he truly is as an individual, but rather for the way he looks and the ideal version of him that she has constructed in her mind. This objectifies him and reduces his personhood to a prize to be won.

Lisanna Makes Me Hate My Fandom More
Is Lisanna overrated by her fans?
No.
I can't believe that I even have to argue this.
And yet here we are.
I even debated the necessity of this post. Do we need another post saying fandom doesn't value Lisanna? Do we really need ANOTHER one?
Well, I need to get back into this writing on this blog somehow.
I reblogged a post about how fans worship characters you dislike some time ago. Someone reblogged my post all but saying they don't like how Lisanna's elevated over others because of filler moments by her fans. I know the person is a Nalu shipper, but I want to keep this about Lisanna. I have to imagine they think fans of Lisanna elevate her over Lucy. I'm not really interested in talking about that. All I care about is that argument about Lisanna's importance.
Part of me agrees with this. Much of the noise made about Lisanna comes from overestimating her relevance before coming back. This post wouldn't exist if I didn't like her, at the very least. However, as I've mentioned, she wasn't built up like multiple other characters or elements in the series.
Do I think we're on the same wavelength about this idea? Almost certainly not. If you think otherwise, remember that they ship Nalu.
But why make a post about this?
Honestly, this post has been on the back burner for years. I've posted it now as a prelude to another post I've been working on. Despite talking about Lisanna almost too much, I don't think I've emphasized something enough.
I've been talking about how fans handle Lisanna, given canon. I happen to be more generous than others are. Though, I have the opposite view of the situation. I don't think fandom does enough with Lisanna. Especially considering everything we've gotten from her.
I've done this a few times, but entertain me. Put Natsu & the Dragon Egg and everything the anime added to the side for a moment. (I need to talk about that special one of these days.) What has Fairy Tail actually told us about Lisanna?
Lisanna is the younger sister of two fan-favorite characters, Mirajane and Elfman. She'd had a close relationship with the series protagonist before the series started. (Yes, I'm considering Natsu as the protagonist for now.) About two years before Lucy met Natsu, she was presumed dead after a mission didn't go well. However, she was actually transported to another dimension. She spent two years working with an alternate version of Fairy Tail, pretending to be their version of Lisanna.
I know that's only a paragraph's worth of information. Admittedly, canon doesn't show a lot of this information. You're not getting the same focus on Lisanna as you would any member of the Strongest Team. Heck, you're not getting the same focus on her as people like Juvia or Cana at nearly any point of Fairy Tail. We've seen more of Mira and Elfman individually after Lisanna returned than just Lisanna over the entire series.
But let's break down each sentence of that paragraph.
Are fans doing a whole lot with Lisanna's relationship with her siblings? Are people writing about the Strauss kids as siblings? What do they think of each other? How has their relationship been affected by their experiences before and since joining Fairy Tail?
Are fans doing a whole lot with Lisanna's relationship with Natsu? I know most people dismiss their past relationships as currently irrelevant. However, it doesn't seem as though Mashima's forgotten about it. What about their past relationship affects their current relationship? What would a partnership between them look like at this point in the series? (I say this knowing this isn't very likely with the sequel's current events.) Is it possible that they could become closer than they are now in canon?
Are fans doing a lot with the mission that supposedly killed Lisanna? How does this affect those close to Lisanna? How do they treat her once she's back? How does the rest of the guild think of the situation?
Are fans doing a lot with Lisanna's time with Edolas? She spent two years with alternate versions of nearly every character in Fairy Tail. How does this affect her views of characters she didn't know before going to Edolas? How does she feel about Edolas and Edolas Fairy Tail? Does she resent being away from Earthland for so long or miss being in Edolas?
As far as I can tell, most people don't address these questions. People don't seem really interested in trying to read into Lisanna's relationships with her siblings or Natsu beyond potential shipping drama. People aren't interested in how Lisanna being in Edolas impacts anyone or anything in the series.
Now, people care about answering these questions. I've talked about these things quite a bit since Fairy Tail ended. My stories involving Lisanna in-series treat her time in Edolas as formative. And I've read several stories that provide answers to these questions from a number of perspectives.
However, most fans don't write about Lisanna thinking about these things. Has fandom moved past the kind of Lisanna that maliciously sabotages Lucy's place in the guild? Can't say. However, they're not doing a whole lot positive with her now.
"Why does it matter? Mashima obviously decided not to do a lot with Lisanna. Why would fans care about a character the series didn't do much with?"
The funny thing is that it's actually the opposite. Fans do (and should) care about Lisanna because there weren't canon answers to the questions surrounding her. Fans are interested in how these questions could be answered.
And frankly, this wouldn't be the first time. Mashima has done hilariously little with Meredy. But fans love her and create stuff for her all the time. She's one of my favorite minor characters to ship.
Heck, we got more of Levy because fans wanted to see more of her after Phantom Lord. The anime got Changeling to introduce Levy before Phantom Lord. However, there wasn't much else to her relevance to the series before and during that arc. It wasn't until the Fantasia arc that Levy became more plot-relevant and active. Mashima's gone on record to say fans are the reason why.
Fans have argued that Lisanna should have stayed dead for years. I've argued against this numerous times before. I've never understood why this matters to people. Of all the death fakeouts, why is Lisanna's such a big deal for fans? Mashima's written sloppier comebacks for characters. He's brought back characters with less importance. Why is Lisanna where fandom draws the line?
"What else do you expect from the Nalu vermin?"
Calm down, Chris. Of course, shipping has something to do with this. Nalu was always going to be popular with fans. Nalu is synonymous with the fandom. I've seen bias against Nali at work, even where it doesn't make sense.
However, you're not seeing the anti-Gruvia crowd write stories about Juvia being tortured and/or staying dead en masse. The issue with most isn't even with Juvia herself. Isolate her from Gruvia, and the problem is solved. The anti-Gruvia crowd falls into two camps: put Juvia with someone else or keep her away from Gray. Unless we're willing to argue that either is equivalent to killing Juvia, we don't have a discussion. (What day is today, again?)
The closest thing fandom's come up with for Lisanna is Bixanna. Unlike many ships, it feels like the fandom exists to give Lisanna someone to love. In fact, there's a small gap between AO3 stories with Bixanna and Nali. However, much of Bixanna's stories have the ship as a side attraction. Nali stories usually focus on Nali. That's telling on its own.
One last thing before the end. It feels irresponsible to end this post without making a suggestion to write Lisanna. Is there a good way to write Lisanna?
Incidentally, the anime gave us a solid approach. Lisanna has a tendency to tease others. We see it with Natsu at different ages in Natsu and the Dragon Egg. We see it with Elfman on Tenrou Island. If you're wondering, that crack about marrying Natsu aligns with that. That was also in the original chapter, so it's not without precedent from Mashima.
If you're writing Lisanna, you don't have to fall into many pitfalls other writers do. She doesn't have to be evil. She doesn't need to be possessive of Natsu. She doesn't have to be Mirajane's little shipping gremlin. (The fact that this is the best of these worries me.) She doesn't have to be the sacrificial lamb. At least make her a fun character to read.
In Conclusion:
Drink your respect Lisanna juice. This is not a request. This is a command.

Lucy : Hey, guys! How was summer vacation? You wanted to have some sort of ways to sort your announcements?
Natsu : Oh yes. It was a great summer vacation.
Lucy : So did you seem to like your vacation?
Erza : It was a great.
Lucy : Gray?
Gray : Yeah, that summer vacation was great.
Lucy : How about you?
Wendy : It was awesome.
Natsu : So how was your vacation.
Lucy : Well...
*scene slides*
Lucy : Summer is awesome and it's really good.
Brandish : Gladly you liked it.
*THUNDERCLAPPING+RAINFALLING*
Knuckles in a Water tornado : HELP! WE'RE BEING SUCKED IN!
*scene slides*
Lucy : Well...my vacation was alright. I guess that summer vacations are overrated. Not that I know much about it.
Wendy : Well, we're glad that all of that summer vacation was a fun surprise. Sure that despite all of the bad weather from humidity, we get see things from our perspective views.
Lucy : So...What do you think of anything in the first day of summer?
Natsu : Hey, this just reminds, it always happens when it comes to not entering the tournament, but what about the Olympics?
Lucy : Well...about that.
Natsu : Do you think the Olympics is too borning in reality?
Lucy : Well, it could be true.
Natsu : I heard that Mario and Sonic broke up after the last olympics 2019 because of developer that made Mario & Luigi go out of business. All thanks to that upgraded version of two previous games on the 3DS.
Lucy : Well, I do agree, Natsu. I'm sure the olympics will be a head start, but it might be boring, but it's fun to watch. Hey, last we get to do summer days in the sunflower fields, wanna try it out?
Natsu : Sure. But don't get me started on this one. After all summer is a great time for a great summer vacation. I think we all learned something new today.
Happy : It was worth the shot.
Natsu : You know, summer is a great time to be out and enjoy the sun.
Lucy : Enjoying the sun and having some fun.
Natsu : We're not worrying about the planet's climate, are we?
*THUNDER BOOMING*
Natsu : Yep. We're still nervous about the planet's climate.
*ZOOM*
Gray : Hey...Uh, guys, where you going?
*THUNDERCLAP*
Gray : Huh? *looks up*
*THUNDER CRASHING+ELECTRIC ZAPPING*
Gray : *screams while being electrified*
*sizzling*
Gray : ....F***ing humanity.
*collapses*
Juvia : Oh...That's why we wanted to stay inside.

Juvia and Gruvia are overrated
I think so. I think they had a lot of potential in the beginning and could have complimented each other well, so I can see why people might like them. However I think the way Juvia has written to behave makes the relationship unlikeable (creepy) to me and has really stalled any kind of growth her character could have. I think she’s pushed to the front solely because of her ‘relationship’ with Gray (see fans wondering why Juvia didn’t go with the team Natsu in the 100 year quest). Her moment with Lucy in the Tower of Heaven and Cana in the Battle of Fairy Tail were wonderful and did so much for her, and I think a lot could be improved with Juvia if she had an actual friend. Once it became clear most of her character would revolve around Gray (who showed no interest), and the love potion episode I really lost any love for the character. I mean, in GMG Juvia should’ve owned the water round, but she didn’t because of her desire for Gray. If that’s not insulting than I don’t know. Basically, I’m disappointed.
I think all of the main four relationships are overrated and have some questionable aspects to them. Honestly the healthiest would be Nalu and I don’t even ship them.

If you were to ship Morro with anyone from the LMK universe, who would it be?
Idk shipping for this au, especially when the ages are so wonky? Kinda?? As a whole for this, I am trying to keep it as close to canon as I can (I say that loosely), however I’m 100% putting in FreeNoodles and Shadowpeach. Because obviously. They’re both so extremely gay.
Anyways. This here list isn’t of ship names, it’s just the designations for characters who interact together and have a dynamic.
I feel weird doing any kind of shipping at all in this au for Morro anyways, since I’m trying to focus more on him as a character and developing that rather than…romance stuff. And I don’t wanna base character development solely on a relationship/have to make up a character for the sole reason of them being a love interest for Morro.
Clarification: I don’t want to create a whole new character who’s only reason for existing is to fill the role of “love interest”.
I’m looking at you, Juvia Lockser from Fairy Tail, you goddamn crazy obsessive manipulative bitch.
So! Just think of these like…Traffic Light Trio, or the RGB Siblings (Kai, Lloyd, Nya). These names are stuff like that.
I like naming stuff okay leave me alone. These aren’t romantic, they’re platonic, I just have a compulsion to designate names to character dynamics.
Morro, MK, & Mei: Mmm or M&M&M. Or Secondary Colors.
Mei & Morro: Green Streaks or Dragon-ish
MK & Morro: Sunset Students or Successors
Morro & Red Son: Team Arson or Anarchy
Macaque & Morro: Previously Departed or Theatre Kids
Red Son, Macaque, & Morro: Ex-Baddies or Anti-Heroes
Wukong & Morro: Secrecy Issues
Tang & Morro: JTTW Fanclub
Morro & Pigsy: Passion for Life
Morro & Sandy: Tea Buds
Morro, Red Son, MK, & Mei: The Therapy Group or Humanity is Overrated
Uhhhhh yeah. Again, I’m just very so-so on shipping in this particular au is all.

Laxus,Erza and Wendy pls!
Laxus
Sexuality Headcanon:
Bisexual but with a preference for men. Like, a very heavy preference.
Also, I feel like they were in the closet until the aftermath of Fantasia so when they left the guild, they started finding his way with his sexuality and realized that they liked men more.
Gender Headcanon:
Transmasc Demiboy; They/He. They has been out for years, but his chronic illness as a kid made it harder for him to transition medical.
One of the big reasons that Makarov and Laxus grew apart is because Laxus, when they finally got healthy from his dragon lacrima, Laxus wanted to transition immediately, but Makarov warned him that they need to take it slowly. When Laxus turned 18, only a few months before his father was banished, Laxus got top surgery from a sketchy doctor that didn’t care that Laxus wasn’t far enough in his hormone therapy.
A ship I have with said character:
Freed, Natsu, Gray, Hisui, Lisanna, and Gajeel.
A BROTP I have with said character:
Bickslow and Evergreen. They are buds who love each other.
A NOTP I have with said character:
Mirajane. I think they hooked up and had a pseudo-relationship in the past, but they’re just friends.
A random headcanon:
^Does that rant I included with his gender headcanon count?
They really like makeup, but lack the confidence and skill to wear it in public. Evergreen is teaching him, but they are still not ready.
General Opinion over said character:
I really like his chemistry with the guild overall, and I wish they interacted with them outside of his team more.
Erza
Sexuality Headcanon:
Omnisexual with a preference for women. She found the label for them, finally, everyone congratulate our omni queen.
Gender Headcanon:
Transfem Demigirl; She/They. She found out she can be trans without needing to completely identify as a girl and their world was never the same.
A ship I have with said character:
Natsu, Gray, Lucy, Cana, Levy, Juvia, Gajeel, Minerva, Evergreen, Kagura, Millianna, Hibiki, and probably more
A BROTP I have with said character:
Jellal and/or Mirajane. She is both of their exes and they have a shared feeling of not being interested in each other, but wanting to be together, y’know?
A NOTP I have with said character:
Jellal, but it’s more of a nah-tp.
A random headcanon:
Erza loves the feeling of snow, but hates getting cold and wet from picking it up.
General Opinion over said character:
I love them, but she overrated and over-used as hell. Their overpowered bullshit is annoying and I wish she didn’t win every fight she’s in.
Wendy
Sexuality Headcanon:
Baby lesbian. She thought she had a crush on Natsu, but it was really just love for them as a brother. She has that for all the Dragonslayers now.
Gender Headcanon:
Transgirl; She/They. She feels confident in their gender identity, but Dragons also normally use They/Them pronouns, and those make them comfortable too!
A ship I have with said character:
Cheila and Cheila only.
A BROTP I have with said character:
The rest of Team Natsu and the Dragonslayers!
A NOTP I have with said character:
Romeo. I really think that people only ship Romeo with Wendy because they’re around the same age.
A random headcanon:
Soft butch Wendy is my favorite Wendy and I’ll never shut up about it.
General Opinion over said character:
I love her! She’s a super important character but ends up pushed to the sidelines anyways? Like, you set her up to be incredible but then she does pretty much nothing :/.

I love you's and foreign languages
This one is dedicated to @be-dazzled. Thank you for the sweet request of Gruvia learning a new language together 💙
Summary: After being hit with a weird spell Juvia finds herself no longer able to communicate with the others in the same language. Good thing words are overrated.
*************************************************
"Water nebula!"
From the corner of his eye, Gray could see Juvia using her water attacks on their enemies. She was handling three guys effortlessly. Making sure she was okay, Gray put his focus back on his own fight.
He had finished off two more guys when he heard a scream. Spinning around he found Juvia down.
"Juvia!" Filled with anger, he finished the remaining guys off before rushing to Juvia. "Are you okay?"
Juvia hold her head in pain. She was so focused on the guys in front of her that she didn't see the one coming from behind. He managed to hit her at the back of her head and it left Juvia with a huge headache and a feeling of dizziness. Focusing on Gray she nodded slowly.
"Alles in Ordnung."
Gray looked baffled for a moment, not understanding what Juvia said. To be fair, the water mage looked confused herself. Maybe the guy had hit her head harder than he thought.. they should definelty get her to Porlyusica, just to make sure.
"We should head back to the guild. Those guys aren't a threat anymore and by now the council probably already sent out someone to get them." Gray helped Juvia up.
"Juvia stimmt dir zu." Juvia was confused. What was she saying? She just wanted to tell Gray that she agrees and instead those words came out. Gray helped Juvia up and decided to carry her the rest of the way since she was still feeling dizzy and the weird way she was talking, didn't help calm his worries either. Making their way home, they were both sure of one thing:
This was going to be interesting.
Back at the guild hall
"That must have been a hard hit to the head." Gajeels laughter could be heard by everyone in Magnolia and Juvia could tell Gray was trying to hold back his laughter too.
"Das ist nicht lustig." She was serious, she really didn't find it amusing at all. This whole thing was freaking her out. She tried to do her best glare but judging by the boys reaction it wasn't threatening at all. "Hilft mir."
"It's okay Juvia, calm down. Master already informed Porlyusica, she's on her way." Gray assured her. He didn't need to understand what she was saying, for him to know that she was freaking out and even a little scared. He did feel bad about it. But she was making it so hard to stay serious when she looked so adorable, trying to look mad, failing at glaring threateningly and stomping around like a child.
A little while after, Porlyusica walked in, immediately going to see Juvia. After doing some check ups, she assured the young mage that there was no big damage done and that her head was fine expect for the little headache she would have for a while that was caused through the hit. She explained that it was a weird spell that was cast on Juvia that lead to her speaking a foreign language. Apperantly it was used by dark guilds to make sure that someone who knew too much wasn't able to deliver informations or at least make it harder for him and giving the dark guilds more time.
"It's German. That's why you didnt understand what she was saying. It's not a strong spell, so it should wear off soon, most likely in one or two days. You'll be fine."
"Danke.." Juvia wasn't sure how good those news were. She was hoping there was something to fix her situation immediately. But of course it couldn't be that easy. At least she knew now that there was no serious damage done to her brain. That's something, right?
The next day
"Still speaking German, huh?" Gray looked down at Juvia who was sitting on the bench, deep in thoughts. "Couldn't you have chosen an easier language?"
"Juvia hatte keine Wahl bei der Sache. Das-" she stopped talking midway, realizing that it had no use. Gray didn't understand a thing she was saying anyway. He sat down next to her, leaning back casually. They sat there in silence, both deep in thoughts. Juvia could see Gray contemplate about something. Every time he was about to say something, he decided against it after all. After a while he finally decided to break the silence.
"Teach me something." Gray turned to Juvia and looked at her expectantly. "How do I say.. how are you?"
"Wie geht es dir?"
"How's the weather."
"Wie ist das Wetter?"
"You're looking very good today."
"Du siehst heute sehr gut aus."
"I like you very much."
"Ich hab dich sehr gern."
"Let's get married."
"Lass uns heiraten."
Gray repeated every phrase after Juvia, making her swoon every time she hears him say things like I really like you and let's get married. He can't just say things like that so casually! Juvias imagination was running wild again, even picturing their kids already. They would sure look adorable.
They continued their language lessons for a while before they decided it would be enough for the day.
"Alright, how about we communicate through gestures until you're no longer speaking German. I don't think I'm such a fast learner when it comes to languages." Gray suggested. Juvia agreed. She was hoping that spell wouldn't last much longer anyway.
"Good, there's something I meant to tell you for a while now and I think, it's easier said without words anyway."
Looking a little confused, Juvia gestured for him to continue. He was acting different too, Juvia was sure she never saw Gray that nervous. Before she could overthink his actions, he leaned down and pressed his forehead against hers.
"I think this has been long overdue." He whispered before leaning in and kissing her softly, telling her everything he was feeling without having to use a single word. Juvia immediately relaxed into it, kissing him back and enjoying the feeling of his soft lips against hers until they both had to pull apart in order to catch their breath. When she opened her eyes again, Gray had a huge grin on his face.
"Juvia?"
"Hm?"
"I learned another German phrase earlier. Just for you."
Juvia looked at him expectantly, waiting for him to continue.
"Ich liebe dich."
Juvia could feel the warmth in her cheeks. She didn't need to speak German in order for her to know what this means. It was similar to their language after all. And even if it wasn't, she could read it in his eyes. I love you. He said it, he really said it. She could barely hold herself back from jumping him right here and now. Juvias face lit up and she couldn't hold back the smile decorating her face.
"Je t'aime aussi."
Gray looked at her expressionless for a moment before bursting out in laughter. Juvia pouted, getting frustrated with this language barrier destroying the moment she waited for so long. The spell was supposed to wear off, not get her to talk in another foreign language. But when she saw Gray smiling genuinely and looking so happy, she couldn't help but smile. Maybe this whole thing wasn't so bad after all. And when he went in for another kiss, Juvia couldn't help but love the foreign languages.
"So we are learning French now, huh? Well, it is the language of love, right?"

Fairy Tail Unpopular Opinions
HI LOL
ok so. im taking this idea from @mika-milano bc their post was very well written, entertaining, and just a rly good idea. so check their post out!:) and thank u for the idea!
and now. a disclaimer.
so im 19 now. i started watching fairy tail when i was 14. this show has been very near and dear to me for a long time. it was one of the first anime i ever watched, and it has my favorite all time ship (gruvia ofc). also i would kind of be lying if i said that most of the reason i still keep up with the manga and show wasnt bc of gruvia. bc it is lol. but. it DEFINITELY has its flaws. and here r some of my opinions on them.
1. so much doesnt make sense
ok listen lol. i think we can all say that its kind of obvious when mashima hasnt thought things through or just pulls things out of his ass out of nowhere. i dont wanna go too in detail about this because if im being honest, there is a lot that i just flat out don't remember. what i can remember is that as the story continued to go on, things seemed to make less and less sense.
2. the best arc is the tower of heaven arc
wow ok. i cant really tell u why i love this arc so much. but i do. im not even a jerza or erza stan (i love them both, but like not my fav pairing or character by any means). but idk. something about this arc was so intriguing, intense, emotional, and just enjoyable to watch. seeing the depths of erza's background and her relationship with her past, jellal, natsu, and the rest of the guild was just amazing. idk why this arc sticks out so much to me, but it really does.
3. lisanna shouldve stayed dead
now this one isnt even bc i hate lisanna or anything. i like lisanna! i even like nali! (not as much as nalu but still). her death had such a great impact on her siblings, natsu, and the rest of the guild and watching them all have to grow past it was incredible (especially for mira and elfman!). and then they just brought her back. not only did they bring her back, but they brought her back for NO REASON! she just became another side character! when she came back to life she had no further impact on ANYTHING! and it made the whole "natsu's childhood love/bestfriend" thing seem so much less important and way more fake.
4. more ppl jus shouldve died overall
with this one im mostly just talking about makarov. but still. waaaay too much death bating. like they died and then magically came back to life. too much of it. felt like nothing was ever really at stake. im saying this but like if juvia had actually stayed dead i would have thrown a FIT lol
5. i wanted more of cana and gildarts
thats it. all i really have to say ab this one. they r cute and i wanted to see more<3
6. juvia is underrated
ok now i am SUPER fucking biased lmao. bc juvia is the BEST character in fairy tail imo. but like come on! she's beautiful, loving, smart, sweet, powerful, funny, badass! shes perfect! and shes waaaay stronger than everyone thinks she is smh. clearly she is the best choice to stan.
7. lucy is overrated
ok look. i like lucy! kind of! idk man shes smart and nice and cute but like. not as powerful as everyone thinks. she's definitely one of the most developed in terms of her strength FOR SURE but still. not very strong. and her character just aint for me:/ sorry!
8. levy should be a lot stronger than she's portrayed
it seems like for some reason since shes small that also means shes weak, but like, that just aint it. solid script magic should be really sick and she should kick ass way more than she does especially for how smart she is but no. mashima always makes her the helpless one:/ rly sad bc i like levy a lot and ik she could be way more badass.
9. the only ship that i rly just flat out hate is gr*ylu.
like nali? i like them! nerza? fine! grayza? also dont like and are second to gr*ylu but i mean i dont have a fiery hatred! lyvia? cool! gratsu? sure! all of them i can get behind in some way ahape or form but i just HATE gr*ylu. idk why i hate them so much but i just really do lol.
10. fairy tail's old animation was way better
while i do think every character got like way more attractive with the new animation, the rest is just bad. not nearly as pretty, crisp, consistent, or colorful. its just blah. sorry sis thats the tea.
ok so there r 10 unpopular ft opinions! please dont yell at me lol! if u wanna have a discussion, we can discuss but these r just my opinions! thank u!:)❤️

Am i the only one that prefers Natsu and Juvia than Nalu and Gruvia?
Honey, I agree with you. But I'm still gruvia trash, Nalu to me is just overrated. :)
I love a good fire and water pairing, I didnt ship Zutara as child for nothing.

Juvia is the most overrated character in the Fairy Tail fandom for several reasons. First, she is not as complex or well-developed as other female characters in the series. Secondly, she exhibits obsessive and possessive behaviors that are unhealthy and damaging to her relationships, yet these actions are often romanticized by fans. Her entire character seems to revolve around her relationship with Grey and she is often portrayed as overly dependent on him. While some fans find her devotion to Grey endearing, others see it as unhealthy and problematic. As a result, Juvia is widely considered to be overrated within the fandom

Lower Your Expectations for Nalu
I'm going to start this post off more generously than I normally would. I don't have any real reason to. I just kind of want to reach some of the Nalu fans with this section. (Nalu fans probably shouldn’t want to read the rest.)
Generally speaking, it's better to lower your expectations for a ship becoming canon. That way, you are pleasantly surprised to see how it will happen. Sometimes a relationship should have more subtle canonization than a bombastic showing. If Mashima plans to make Nalu canon, we should be patient to see how it happens. It’s not impossible for Nalu to have some impressive showy way it becomes canon. However, it’s worth letting Mashima do his thing and let the chips fall as they may.
Alright, the kids are gone. Let's do this for real.
I've been running this blog for just over six years. You'd think that, at this point, it would be hard for me to be surprised by this fandom. I've seen all kinds of things happen, and that should be the case. I joined during a rather tenuous time where fandoms were more willing to go at it.
As it stands, the Nalu fandom is the gift that keeps on giving. Whenever I feel as though I can't think of anything else to say about this ship, something happens, and I'm brought back to writing about it. You'd think it would be me talking about how the ship functions in canon. However, fans seem willing to bend over backward to sing Nalu's praises.
I'd respect it if it weren't Nalu we're talking about. This might be one of the most overrated ships in anime. I'll never understand how most people who watch this series even passively wanted these two to become a couple. All the couples Mashima's written over the years, and this is the one he'll be judged for? (Also, maybe Gruvia, but we talked about that already.)
Still, I do have to give this some fandom credit. Mashima has taken nearly every possible opportunity to feasibly advance this ship since the Grand Magic Games ended (arguably even before that) and passed on doing much with it. On some occasions, it feels as though Mashima is directly mocking the idea that Nalu could possibly become canon. And yet, fans believe that Nalu will become canon at any moment because he draws a Twitter pic of them once every three months or so. (Yes, I did edit this sentence since Nalu Day. What of it?)
Recently, I got an ask comparing the Nalu fandom to the MAGA crowd. I'm not personally vindictive enough against Trump or his supporters to affirm that comparison. Though, I can't act as if I haven't been thinking of an analogy to describe Nalu fans. I think a better comparison might be fans of the Dallas Cowboys.
Cowboys fans seem to believe that their team can win the Super Bowl any season. That's not an inherently problematic perspective to take. You should hope that your team will do well. However, this often manifests itself in confidence that ignores the faults within individual Cowboys teams and the strength of their opponents. Not to mention, this ignores the objective fact that the Cowboys haven't done well in the playoffs for 25 years.
I don't think it's wrong for fans to believe that their ship will become canon. I don't know too many fans who wish their ship doesn't become canon. However, I always worry about the fans who believe their ship happening is an inevitability. Especially when things seem to be pointing away from the possibility of it happening. This is usually a recipe for toxic fandoms.
But, let me humor the idea for a moment.
What if Mashima really plans to make Nalu happen in the end?
As I'm writing this post, we're currently in the middle of the fight between the third Dragon God. We're getting close to the real conclusion of that battle. But after that, there are two big arcs until the series truly ends. Three if they decide to have one last battle against the quest-giving dragon.
If Mashima's going to make Nalu canon, how would that work now?
There's the "realization" route. This is the one I probably see the most. Natsu and Lucy could come to the clear realization that they have come to love each other throughout the series. Of course, you'd have to imagine that whatever would bring this on is more powerful than thinking the other has died.
Twice, throughout the series.
Each.
On top of several other crazy things to happen to them over 600 chapters of material spanning a decade and a half. Yet, I'm supposed to believe that some random new moment will change the tide for Nalu.
The other way to do it is to have a confession. Either Natsu or Lucy decides to share with the other the fact that they are in love. Their feelings are reciprocated, and you can figure out the rest.
Depending on who you ask, we've almost gotten this a few times. Lucy's had a few opportunities to talk about her relationship with Natsu and has been fairly nice about it. A few times it's hinted that there might be more to their friendship but nothing concrete. I've even seen it hinted that Natsu was going to confess in chapter 545.
But, that's just it. We've only gotten hints at the possibility that there's more. If Natsu and Lucy actually like each other romantically, why not make it clearer earlier?
"It's because he's being subtle about their shared romantic feelings."
Yeah, I have reason to doubt that.
Jellal and Erza have feelings for each other implied throughout Fairy Tail. Sure there's explicit stuff like their meeting before the Grand Magic Games started. But there's been plenty of subtle stuff surrounding their relationship. People make hints at their potential romantic relationship all the time in canon, even as recent as the last arc.
I feel like I say this a lot when talking about Jerza. But really think about the arcs they're together in. There's Tower of Heaven, Nirvana, the Grand Magic Games, Tartarus, Alvarez Empire, and Aldoron. Their relationship is brought up or hinted at in Fantasia, Tenrou Island, Avatar, and Mercuphobia. While that looks like a large amount of material, Jerza doesn't take up much space in any of these arcs. Outside of the Grand Magic Games, Nirvana, and Alvarez, these are small moments between the two of them at best. Sometimes it's even less than that. And yet, the ship makes sense to the vast majority of the fandom.
But that might be an unfair comparison. Jellal and Erza have a history dating before the series started.
Let's use a ship that involves characters that met after Natsu and Lucy. Gray and Juvia. (Wait, these guys again?)
The big thing with this ship has been how Gray feels about Juvia. We've known how Juvia feels about Gray literally since they met. However, we've seen Gray slowly change his views on Juvia. We didn't just jump from enemies to lovers. There was a subtle shift as the series went on.
Do you really think that Mashima couldn't do better with Natsu and Lucy? His main duo? The series is only possible because the two meet each other. But I'm supposed to believe that Mashima didn't want to make a Nalu romance seem more explicit?
If you were to ask me, the most likely route for Nalu now is a much less sexy option. If Nalu were to happen, it won't happen in a grand showing of affection. It will just... happen. We'll likely skip to some random point in time after they beat all the dragons and see them as a couple. Maybe we'll se an Earthland Nasha.
This isn't something anime/manga fans aren't used to. I know everyone likely thinks of a different series that has done this over the years. People will rag on series like Naruto and Bleach for doing this. For what it's worth, I do like both of those series and their endgame ships.
That said, I have two problems with this option.
First, Nalu doesn't have the kind of setup that those other ships have. You're not getting characters openly confessing before a fight. You're not getting two characters flustered over the prospect of feelings suggested to each other. Heck, you're not getting a "Silver Ray" situation.
"What about those times when Lucy was asked if she likes Natsu?"
Again, Lucy's not openly agonizing over that as part of their relationship. If this was something we were supposed to seriously consider as an option for her, we'd know.
Even then, this would only show that it's one-sided. Natsu hasn't had any similar moments where he considers liking Lucy. Anyone bringing up the waterfall scene is speculating at best. Do you really expect me to believe that Mashima will change that this far into the series?
But this doesn't even get into the second problem. Is this how you'd want Nalu to become canon?
I've said this before, but Nalu has been expected to become canon for close to a decade. That almost feels like an exaggeration. But one of the big chapters I usually point to for Mashima potentially making Nalu more overt is Lucy Fire. That chapter turned ten years old this past March.
Nalu fans have been inventing all kinds of scenarios and situations about how Mashima will make their favorite ship happen. Wouldn't it be disappointing for fans to see that this ship would happen without any of the pomp and circumstance you'd expect a ship like this to get?
I know plenty of people who were disappointed when their favorite ship just became canon without a lot of lead-up. I didn't love getting to the end of Bleach without knowing more about how Ichigo and Orihime got together. Yes, I know the novels exist, but I (literally) paid to read the manga. I'd like to have seen it happen in the manga. (This could be about Naruto, but I only own The Last.)
This is why I believe Nalu fans should lower their expectations. Do you know the fantasy fans have for Nalu happening? Natsu and Lucy finally being hit with the overwhelming realization they love each other? A tearful confession of their feelings for each other capped with a kiss? All of their friends cheering them on, knowing they should have been a couple a long time ago? Maybe even a glimpse at their wedding and their future kid?
Congratulations, that was Rave Master's main couple. Don't expect the same thing for Nalu. If Nalu will happen, it will look much more disappointing than what fans believe it will look like.
At this point, I'm even not sure that Nalu will happen. Mashima has made every version of Nalu look more romantic except the original. I can't apologize for my skepticism on its prospects. Even actual Nalu fans are worried about if it will happen. I will enjoy seeing more of this salt in the future.
Now, there's one question you might be asking of me. How will I react to Nalu happening?
I don't have some back-pocket post prepared in case Nalu does happen. Heck, I thought of making one but ended up writing this post instead.
However, I have been wrong about future events of Fairy Tail in the past. If I'm wrong and Mashima does make Nalu canon, then I'll talk about it. I highly doubt it will make me like the series less. It certainly won't affect anything I'm doing with the rewrite, given my rules for changes. Consider that I've been able to talk about Gruvia negatively at this point in the series. I'll absolutely continue to talk smack about Nalu if it ends up canon.
That said, I have reason to believe that I'm right about the direction Nalu will take. And if I'm right, don't expect my tone on Nalu to stay the same. At the very least, I can promise a third Nalu edition of "My Incredibly Unpopular Thoughts" if Nalu doesn’t happen. I haven't done one in years and I can't think of a better way to celebrate the ship dying once and for all.

Juvia : Our day! And I love to celebrate! My day!
Lucy : ...Ahem! It's my day! And I wanted all of you to celebrate with us!
Juvia : What's going on? Why is nobody celebrating day?
(wind gusting)
Lucy : Nobody's here.
Juvia : That's because they all had their fun on our holidays and this is what we get for celebrating it? What a waste of efffort.
Lucy : I better go tell Natsu about this.
(scene flips)
*Natsu and the guys playing video games*
Lucy : Come on, guys. Please, just let us celebrate our day. You know it's like this is the 412th time we ever had to celebrate our day or our birthdays.
Juvia : Please, guys? Can we please just let us celebrate our days?
Natsu : What are you ladies talking about? Lucy and Juvia day was overrated. We're chilling out with some snacks and playing some video games. You'll get your chance to celebrate your days, next time.
Lucy : Oh brother, THIS DAY SUCKS!
Juvia : What a rip.
Natsu : Oh score, dawg! In yo face! King Natsu the Gaming champ! Hater gonna hate!
Gray : (Sighs) Beaten like several times a day. Never gets old.
*alternate scene*
Lucy : So, guys. Now that you will celebrate our days.
Juvia : We baked you all a delicious cake.
Natsu : [To Lucy] You expect us to believe this and we survived the fight just for some cake!?
Grey : [To Juvia] We all just died in horrendous battle, you piece of--
(SHING!)
Erza : (behind Natsu and Grey) Enjoy the cake now, or I'll make you enjoy it by myself.
Natsu : Fine, fine! We'll enjoy this cake.
Gray : We'll try.
(both of them taste of the cake)
Natsu : Well, this cake is really delicious.
Grey : This is a good piece of cake.
Juvia : Do you love it?
Lucy : We made it our selves.
Natsu : Wow! This cake is delicious.
Grey : This taste good. Not bad, you know this reminds me of--
*CRACK!*
Grey : Uhh, girls? Where did you put in this stuff in the cake?
Lucy : I reminded something real good, It's my special ingredient. I made it just for you.
Juvia : And don't forget that I added secret recipe to our cake.
Grey : Then what was something cracked in my mouth?
Juvia : I made you a cake with something that is filled with an extra ingredient. (a bag of peanuts)
Natsu : Did you fed us cake filled with...NUTS!?!
(the both starts gagging)
Lucy : I forgot...They're allergic to peanuts.
Juvia : Classic allergy reaction.
*THUD+Collaspse*
Juvia : Oops, I guess you don't see that on our day.
Lucy : Me too.
Happy : Aw man, who's idea was it to bring the peanuts?
(camera pans to the Peanuts gang)
Snoopy : Bah.

im sorry im late!!! I legit thought i anwsered this but i guess not!
--
29. Whats the most overrated movie??
--- hmmm I think the Emoji Movie was so overrated and it was trash. It barely had a plot and i watched it on netflix one day and cringed so hard. I think it was just a use to sell products with Emojis on it. Idk if its overrated for that reason because it wasn't that popular. Idk any other ones, I guess Frozen even though I really love it and it was just blown out of proportion when Big Hero 6 deserved the spot light too.
32. If you could live in a fictional world, what would you pick?
---yo if i could live in Once Upon A Time or like Story Brooke, I would in a heartbeat. Or maybe My Hero would be cool or Fairy Tail cause I want some cool powers.
37. Have any tattoos?
--Nope not right now but i am planning on getting a Micky Mouse head on my ankle with my best freinds and I want hip/stomach tattoos. Ive been planning about getting a Juvia tattoo and possibly some Disney one and even a pirate ship and skulls.
43. Whats your guilty pleasure?
-Fanfiction or singing (i dont really sing in front of anyone unless the music is hella loud.)
---
Thanks for all the asks love!!!
