As much as I love Star Allies, they just completely butchered Susie's character arc 😭

Like. Why the hell would she be continuing Haltmann's work after all the shit that happened in Planet Robobot, ESPECIALLY when SHE'S the one who had a change of heart and sent Kirby off into the final boss to defeat Haltmann's rouge machines??? And EVEN IF THAT DID MAKE SENSE, how does continuing her father's business lead to her helping Kirby save the universe???

Either something VERY IMPORTANT got lost in translation or I'm missing something because what

meta knight at 400% prefers tea over coffee. hes a complete tea connoisseur, knows everything about tea remedies, can make the perfect blend out of anything. he has a cupboard dedicated to fancy tea-making contraptions and all the little tools that solves problems in tea brewing you didn’t even know existed. like, forty different tea sets and even more standalone glasses and teapots. he gets offended when you offer to make him a cup and return with a little mug of hot water and a trader joes green tea bag. and when hes on missions, he’ll horf down lizard jerky and mend his wounds with plants, but he’d NEVER drink a mediocre cup of herbal tea.

king dedede is a hard call.. i think he’d say it depends on the meal its served with. a coffee alone never hurt anyone, but he’d say without a pump of caramel and creamer and a few scones, it wouldn’t deserve an argument. then, for tea, you need some kind of dessert like a slice of cake or pie, or a nice pavlova. then the aesthetic portion (hmo hes a king he would worry abt this..) where tea you’d have on a sunny day behind a lacey tablecloth, and a coffee you’d have on a cold day (rain, probably) when you’re cooped or on the go. i guess it just depends on where he is or what he’s doing.

magolor daroach and susie i think are all same story, all of them doing similar things for different reasons. daroach is always on the go, hopping from place to place, so a coffee is what he’d grab and down just because its more available. magolor is always stuck manning magoland or even cooped up in the lor for work, so caffeine is good for the energy. for the both of them i think theyd prefer tea, for the leisure associations they have with it, but their tastes are extremely different. then finally, susie will take both as long as they’re way oversweetened; she brings coffee (a frappe) into the office more often because its more business chic but will treat herself to some kind of iced fruity tea or something with boba pearls every so often. still favors coffee though, probably—i think she’d see them the same way, but like the caffeine more.

my vote goes to dark meta knight, pre warning to how painfully obvious i make this. i think he’d prefer coffee to tea, not because he likes coffee all that much but because he just LOATHES tea. unafraid to call it grass water, often does! thinks its the ultimate sissy drink, with its dainty preparation and cutesy herbal flavors. in all honesty, hes just looking for things to bash to feed into his ego, so he ends up having a lot of these unusual, higher than life opinions. in turn, he becomes a coffee superfan in defense of just how unusually deep his hate for tea runs for literally no reason. says he also likes the caffeine. can’t list any other reasons.

shadow kirby… i don’t really know why hes listed here, too young to acquire tastes for either, but definitely has a little bitch in their ear (dmk) telling them that tea is the grossest. get on git, little boy, scurry home

the 0.5 votes for taranza is well placed, but for galacta knight, i think it deserves a word or two. he existed in a time before coffee did, so theyve never had any. theyve since forgotten the taste of tea. you cant apply much of anything to poor galacta knight. sad, but true.

escargoon… im drawing a blank. i’ve been writing for WAY too long so now im brain tired. on days like these, i empathize with him. but if i were to at least TRY, though, i think he’d prefer tea. something he grew up seeing mom drink, so he became just the same way. a hot cup of tea makes him think of home on sunny days, when mom would buy a glass of pre-made sweet tea for herself, later learning its better to just buy two so he can have one himself rather than ask for sips as often as he dared. he thinks of her rickety car and the bumpy road home. he thinks of sitting in the open back with tied up furniture, mom yelling at him every once in a while to watch his feet. 

as a bonus, and in addition to escargoon, i wrote a little something for anime meta knight. i feel hes pretty different from his game counterpart (that’s y im writing for him at all lol) especially with their super different circumstances. his tea cabinet would be much more humble. hand-me-down china and old tools. souvenir nick nacks he still remembers how to use. LOTS of foreign flavors from different planets, well preserved by yours truly. all of his supplies are stocked away in the kings grody castle, in one of his identical kitchen cabinets, but he makes a grand spanking cup of tea anyway. holds the same passion for tea as his game twin, but years of humble living whittled away at it pretty noticeably. 

thank u for reading so so so much btw i had a lot of fun writing and im happy u care :)!!! i’ve been writing for about 2 days now (a lot longer than i thought allat would take) but there is something else i’d like to say, just 1 last thing. im a little annoyed with how easily meta knight tends to sweep in every poll i come across. no, meta knight wouldn’t excel in baking, it doesn’t suit him at all. i thought we agreed he was banned from the kitchen. you don’t have to go on a speil like i did to express that, but if you’re reading this, could you put a little more thought into the characters who aren’t really fan faves? be the change you want to see in the world! even if that’s for kirby fandom lmaoo

found an old barebones fic regarding a metasusie fan kid in my notes app & wanted to expand on this fan kid a bit more:

maxim knight (his full name is maxim knight haltmann but he's typically known as max, a loving nickname given by susie & mk)

his appearance is very reminiscent of haltmann, but notably the version where star dream possessed haltmann via max's yellow eyes --other than that though he's has a slightly darker, different shade of purple hair (his appearance is largely influenced by mk's traits) & his outfit consists of mainly vertical stripes

i imagine he has mk's short temper & susie's haughtiness but also mk's strong sense for justice & susie's hidden caring nature

susie & mk are lowkey obsessed with him (like most parents are with their children)-- susie wants to support him in whatever he's interested in so she can give him the best childhood she can & mk wants to affectionately turn him into a miniature killing machine under the guise of self defense. this ultimately turns max into someone with a massive enjoyment for forging weapons in which he brands a signature gold maxim tomato on (however, instead of a large M, it's an MH)

his favorite food is tomato ice cream with hot fudge susie makes during the summer & his favorite item is a small gold dagger mk gifted him when he turned 5

in terms of relationships besides his parents, he views kirby, bandana dee, & sailor dee as his older siblings, as by the time max is 8, they should be around their midteens, kirby being the youngest of the three

regarding his lifecycle since mk is a millennia old man who somehow appears in his late twenties while susie's lifecycle is akin to a normal human (her hc species is a battery made out of flesh however), i imagine max will start aging much more slowly when he turns around 30 (unlike mk or kirby who began aging slowly once they turned around 15) & only live half of what mk will-- so max will die before his father does.

that is never fun news for a father. watching your wife & child die before you is not fun at all. YAHOOOOOOOOOOO

Hmm, this little idea could go two ways, angst, or comedy. Magalor, upon finding an artifact that boosts his powers ONCE, in exchange for it going away. Out of spite for the haltmann CEO, uses it to curse susie and make her part/entirely sphere doomer, indignant instincts included, this has the unfortunate side effect of mirror susie being affected but she(MS) may or may not like sphere doomers.

What Marx does is WAY worse and a more fitting “punishment” in Mags eyes — after the Legacy arc, he just…doesnt think about or seek Susie out anymore. Justice has been dealt. She is out of his mind, out of his life. If she comes crawling back he’ll probably just ignore her or be overly formal/…manipulative, if her skills are needed.

What if MK was the secretary and Susie the noble swordswoman? Let's just say their meetings would be full of distractions. Gosh this was such a fun picture to do, I enjoyed this a ton! It was interesting trying to come up with a different look for them as well as imagining what they'd be like in this situation. I suppose Haltmann Works would be focused on using their technological advancement for the pursuit of justice, meanwhile Meta-Knights Inc. would've been taking advantage of a planet's business potential that the inhabitants clearly don't understand (before being thwarted of course). There's so much I could go into, but for now enjoy this haha!

happy 4/13! have some kirby classpect headcanons.

kirby - rogue of heart meta knight - knight of blood dedede - ?? of rage galacta knight - witch of time nova - sylph of light marx - prince of space gooey - page of void ado - seer of space susie - thief of light bandana dee - sylph of breath

(explanations under the cut)

kirby - could fit many aspects (blood, hope, life, even void) but imma say rogue of heart. he steals people’s identities (powers, that is) through his copy abilities, but always does it for the good of his friends (since rogue is passive). he’s got lots of emotions and goes off gut instincts, can sometimes be self-centered, and also has splinter selves, like dirk. and, like nepeta, he cares about the relationships between his friends!

meta knight - knight of blood. (though i also considered heart and void) meta is a leader through and through, and though he seems aloof he cares a lot about the well-being of his friends and his crew. he even has an attack in robobot where he summons his entire crew to help him fight! he’s stubborn and charismatic, and he is concerned about his relationships with other people and what they think of him. his character arc feels a bit like karkat too, learning to lean back and work with his friends more instead of trying to take them over, and doing stuff for others rather than just for himself (though as a knight he keeps a lot of his independence). the blood-bound also seem very concerned with honor, as meta definitely is. knights (at least in my interpretation) are about exploitation of their aspect, and are especially prone to forcing themselves into active roles while they are actually more passive, kind of like how meta fights for himself and against kirby at first but then learns to work with him. the knight class fits my interpretation of him feeling aloof but on the inside really caring for his crew and others.

in my opinion, both heart and blood are concerned with relationships, but in different ways. heart is more about personal relationships with and between close friends and the like (as we see with nepeta and meulin), while blood takes into account social dynamics and bigger picture stuff (which kankri tries to do and does wrong). like, one way meta could manifest blood is through his focus on honor, justice, fairness, chivalry, all that. whereas kirby, who’s heart, obviously has to look at the bigger picture, but what really drives him to go on adventures is doing things for other people specifically, like helping ribbon or magolor.

dedede - rage. rage is all about emotion, passion, stubbornness, conviction, which dedede fits pretty well. he plays by his own rules, and just turns up and declares himself leader one day! in my observation, rage players often get their power from external rather than internal sources, and are most powerful when they’re not themselves, which would fit with how much dedede gets possessed, and also how he’s more powerful as masked dedede. being a primary antagonist, he also induces rage! his class is stumping me though - i was thinking thief because of how he steals food but that doesn’t really work with rage...

galacta knight - witch of time. he’s a temporal warrior, of course he’s time! time is also about destruction, and nothing says destruction more than star dream’s line about galacta casually destroying planets. witches are able to actively manipulate reality, like galacta does a lot in his fights - for example, tearing open spacetime.

nova - sylph of light. light is about knowledge and luck. nova has a lot of both of these things - luck in the form of wishes. they are destroyed a lot but always seem to reform. sylphs create things for others, which definitely reminds me of how nova creates luck for others by granting their wishes.

marx - prince of space. his classpect is somewhat of a paradox (like him!) because it involves the destruction of creation and destruction through creation. he is super destructive, being a prince, and is able to destroy space by creating literal black holes. the whole way in which he dies, destroys nova, and is reformed feels super prince of space-y. he also fights kirby on this whole new plane of existence?? which is pretty space-y? as is his whole transformation. space is also connected to patience, which, while that might not seem all that marx-like at first, he does get the sun and moon to fight and is willing to wait for kirby to complete the entire milky way wishes quest before achieving his goal.

gooey - page of void. void obviously refers to gooey being dark matter, and his mysterious nature there. he’s also subject to obfuscations himself, since he’s often really ignorant of everything around him and doesn’t really know much about anything! pages have a lot of potential but it’s often hard to tell right off the bat, and their powers don’t always manifest in obvious ways. gooey seems like an irrelevant coop character, but he’s already fairly powerful in his own right, since he has many of the same abilities as kirby does. (you might even call copy abilities void-y—you just kinda suck enemies into the void huh?? and one theory says that void is about infinite potential which works with those abilities...) and as a sidekick, he fits the literal meaning of page as well.

ado - seer of space. space is about creation, and she can literally draw things and have them come to life - that is very space-y! seers understand things and guide others, like ado does a lot for kirby in 64, but are powerful in their own right and i don’t doubt that a seer of space could do some wacky creation stuff. also seer seems like a class that would be tied to drawing because you have to see stuff to draw it right..

susie - thief of light. she steals (or intends to steal) information, she has lots of luck, and she lies a bunch (lies to you about the origin of mecha knight and to haltmann about her intentions) which is kinda like stealing correct info from another person. she also is tied to prosperity, which is light-related.

bandana dee - sylph of breath. he is very flexible, a definite hero, supporting his friends a bunch like john does. his spear also feels like a breath weapon, given how light it is and how he can fly with it. he can also jump on air in krtdl, which seems more manipulative of the air than meta or kirby’s flying, since it doesn’t seem like he should be able to fly. (also, blue bandana…) he’s a sylph because he creates for the sake of his friends - because he’s a supporting character he creates flexibility for them, and stalls kirby for dedede in super star. sylphs are also associated with healing, which is basically his whole role in robobot - giving kirby healing items!
