y'know i intended to draw a bunch of refs for some of my characters that i haven't posted a ton of art of for artfight this year but i think i'm literally just gonna make crunch and wesker's refs, re-do reverie's ref (it's been bugging me since last year), format and upload horatio's preexisting ref, and update some character descriptions. that might just be all i have the energy for regarding artfight prep, at least if i wanna have some energy going into artfight too

I told you I wanted to draw them on Twitter, and here they are indeed!

These designs were immediate favorites when you posted them. When  you mentioned Nekomata liked soft drinks, my immediate thoughts went to the numerous vending machines in the streets of many Japanese cities and towns... So this little scene, with Bakeneko holding such a drink and Nekomata wanting a sip, quickly manifested itself in my mind.

It was the occasion to practice perspective and urban backgrounds. I also tested out my new grey fineliners, but unfortunately, the scanner doesn't really like them much (the black ones are processed just fine), so I had to overlay the sketch I had scanned earlier.

I messed up the character perspective, though. I know Nekomata looks smaller here, even though they're taller than Bakeneko :(

AITA for attacking someone on Artfight? I am female, 31. There's this event called Artfight in which you can draw people's ocs as a ways of making points for your team. I've been participating in Artfight since Tea vs. Coffee and haven't had a problem until last Artfight.

I typically prefer to attack using the random character button and I found a really cute character that was someone's sona that was a dog. It had really nice colors that mixed well with my fursona's colors so I checked their permissions to see if they were okay with their characters/sonas being drawn with others. They were! They even encouraged and really wanted interactions of their characters or sonas with other people's characters or sonas. What caught my eye was that they also encouraged speciesswap too which I thought was cool. My sona is a pooltoy dog so I thought it'd be cool if I speciesswapped their sona to be a pooltoy too! I drew up the attack and posted it, but even after a few days they never commented on it. I noticed they commented on other attacks they got after mine so I thought they had missed it, alright no big deal. I'm not attacking for comments, I'm attacking for fun. Well, I attacked them again later in the month since I had time and I had saved another character of theirs earlier since it was part of a closed species I was apart of, but when I went to submit I realized they had blocked me. I know block evading is wrong now and shouldn't have bothered after realizing but I didn't know at the time, so I contacted them on tumblr to ask what was up if they were upset with me. They called me a proshipper and a freak and a pedo, saying I was disgusting for that attack. I was very confused and upset, so I asked what was wrong with it to see if I could fix it and they said I'm a freak for making fetish art of their sona when it's personal to them and they have stated in their permissions absolutely no fetish content since they're a minor.

Here's where I believe I am the asshole. It is true I do have a pooltoy fetish, but you have to search outside of my Artfight profile to find it. Even so, I keep my NSFW pooltoy work to one outside profile, everything else I ever draw outside of that specific profile, my pooltoy artwork is completely SFW. And I will add their age was not listed anywhere on their Artfight page but even then the art I made was not meant to be fetishic nor did I think it would come off as so? It was just two pooltoy animals having fun. Even so, they told me they reported the attack as soon as they realized, said a few more nasty things to me then blocked my tumblr. I began to think I may have been the asshole as a few people I know have said I should prepare in case that kid and their friends make a PSA on me which is making me think this may have been more severe then I'm thinking it was.

So tl;dr, I have a pooltoy fetish, I drew me and this person's sonas as pooltoys as an Artfight attack since it wasn't against their permissions, and they even encouraged it. They then called me a freak, blocked me and reported my attack. AITA?

im crazy proud of this. is it a good animation? not really. but IVE NEVER ANIMATED ANYTHING WITH MORE THEN LIKE 10 FRAMES BEFORE. AND I DID THIS IN LESS THEN 48 HOURS. I THINK THAT'S REALLY COOL.

i'll drop a post-artfight summary here as well!!

i myself made 7 attacks this fight, and drew 16 characters!! in total, i earned 753.25 points for team seafoam :)

i received 13 direct attacks, and had one of my characters included in 5 others! my battle ratio for this year is shit lol

i messed around with lighting a lot and figured out a shading style that i really like!

i taught myself how to properly animate in two days!!

and i think that two of my top three favorites pieces out of all of my art were both drawn for this fight. one as an attack and the other as a "reference" image of one of my characters.

im pretty happy with how this artfight went. wish i hadnt had such a slump near the beginning of the month, there were several attacks i had planned that i never got around to doing...

buuuuut. just because artfight is over doesnt mean i cant still draw other people's silly little guys... the violence can and will continue for as long as i want it to >:)

I recently found this Tumblr page and just had to post my experience.

Last year was my first year on Artfight and I was excited to join with some friends who'd been doing it for a few years already. A few days in, I noticed a Tumblr artist I really liked was a part of the fight so I decided to draw one of their characters. Attacked one and a few days went by with no comment. I just worried that they didn't like my art because it was traditional and they might've thought it was ugly and I really started to spiral. But then, I got a revenge from them! And it was one of my favorite characters drawn so beautifully in their art and I almost cried I was so happy! Still one of my favorite attacks I've gotten ❤️

AF MidWeek Round-up!

This is just a simple post compiling all of my attacks so far along with some artists notes! Mostly because I found myself much more active this year than last year (Minus these few couple days due to some appointments). I'll be tagging everyone and linking to other socials so you can see these lovely folks. Of course if you want to attack me, I'm ready to fight! Without further ado, here's all the attacks so far :>

@cosmicdenro @stellarknightz - Weekend Date The name of the game for these first few attacks was to get everyone who I was supposed to last year but ran out of time ^^;;. I decided upon Jesse's Zircon over Jesse the character (one in my bookmarks) b/c it seemed like Turquoise Zircon was less drawn this year but was his icon on AF. So easy pick from me :> (Btw doing Sodalite's stripes and copying Zircon's shape language was really fun!!)

@/clawothy (Twitter) - Chill Cat Another attack from last years bookmarks! It was definitely a soft but enjoyable opening into drawing furries since Claw's so human shaped. It was fun drawing his tail and patterns :>. This is just a nice character design all around.

@twidaisi - Speedy Service Twi was also one from my bookmarks, but also a doorway down an ArtFight rabbit hole. Which will become apparent in the next two pieces. For this one, I had a pretty clear pose in mind so I placed it onto O.R.B.I and went from there!! His design is so neat and he seems so cool! The pose was also pretty fun to do as well, just an overall fun art piece (Also this one got a revenge!!! I still really really love thank you so much!!!!!)

@scratchgeist - Escapism Ho! This was a doozy! Twi had Scratch's profile linked so I ended up hitting him with an attack too. Drawing Scratch's mane turned out to be a pleasant experience despite me originally fearing it. This scene idea also came from a prompt of Scratch going outside. I ended up putting Polish on this because all those scratchy "ink like" lines I actually did manually (take a fuzzy brush and then go over it using a sketchbook eraser). It was nice dipping my toes into BatIM again and trying out more animal feature.

@/stylin.art Instagram @/crypticc0rpse Instagram - Pirates in arms One of those two people were linked on Scratch's profile and the person linked also linked to the other person. But I realized that both Stylin and Crypt had some shared characters. So this ended my little rabbit hole of people by attacking these two lovely fellows at the same time. This little crossing swords idea took me a nice minute to come up with but I liked how it ended up anyway. I really did like drawing James together like this (probably helps that I really like pirates in general). Also yes I know her hand is fucked up I noticed way to late to fix it.

@smoresthehalloweenqueen - Listen to the waves Once I finished up with that I moved onto the next bookmark, which was Smores! Originally I was gonna draw Brutus but then I was like "I like his sona it looks like fun!" So I drew them listening to music because why not :>. I struggled on the arms initially but it came out real clean and nice. Honestly might be my best work so far! (Fun fact, I color picked the waves + background from Seafoam's icon.)

@skittisketch - I got it! Mr. Sascachawean himself! I referenced this pose form the classic Objection point because I thought it would fit his personality. This was also a little bit of a test with a style I had only done in sketches (Basically my human style but omitting a neck which somehow shaves off a lot of time). This was a super fun pose to do with a pretty nice background! (Once again, fucked up hand I know I noticed too late again)

@justpainterrobot - Rare Nightly Sight I had this really really clear picture of what I thought up for this attack and I'm happy that I was able to make it a reality. I put the polish tag on this one because I almost got super super detailed of what the junk was below her (Stuff coming down from Elysium n all that) but due to a lack of references I just went with typical metal and wood. Fun fact, the night sky in the background is based on the one from Deponia itself (The first game's scenes with the professor at night). I think this rewrite of Toni was really cool from what I could find about her. Overall a labor of love type of attack.

@coelpts @swan-swanno - Boss Battle I thought to myself "Hm, I see Coelpts around a lot, lets hit him with an attack." and it turns out Ciel's gay married to Swanno's charater Mikhail, who was the last one in my bookmarks from last year. So another double attack for this one! It was a struggle starting this one mostly because I was debating whether or not to draw Ciel's Lord outfit but I ended up doing so because why not :>. It was a fun experience copying Swanno's more angular style, which is a stark departure from my more rounded shapes (As you can see here). Has a nice venture doing the lighting as well, overall a good experience.

@tailsylennon - Sweet Treats Mitchell showed off Tasily's proflie one day and I saw their sona and was I was like "Lemme draw it!" and did! I ended up following another prompt by her because it was their birthday! (By the time I started on this it was 8 pm and I freaked tf out and got to work). Her sona was really cool and I really loved drawing them. Fun fact, each of the set pieces references the Hallows Souls trio. The chair is decorated after Terra, Markus is the table, and Whistle pallet is used for the tea set :>. It was just a pleasant and cozy attack to make overall.

@ceaseless-enemy - Congratulations!!!! I've actually known about Voila for quite awhile now and thought his design n theaming is quite neat! I actually based the pose off of Ai from Oshi No Ko (I think one of her key arts before the anime released, ifykyk). But I skillfully cut out the legs because I can't draw digitigrade legs... Hooray... Otherwise it was quite nice to work on this attack in particular, especially the eyes and the hair :>.

@killbent - Getting Ready This is another one I had a real clear idea of prior to doing this, specifically because Killbent gave a prompt to give Mr Fairchime pink hair, so i thought a "pre-show" set up would look nice :>. The lighting was another new venture for me, because I usually do cool/night time like lighting but I think it turned out nicely for Fairchime. It was also fun doing the accessories and stuff on the vanity as well. Fun Fact, it's a bit hard to see through the watermark + lighting but the face paint and pallet both have the colors of his make up! Overall a pleasant and warm attack for this year.

And that's all of them so far! I picked up some new bookmarks + I gotta get Twi back for drawing Compact!! So those will probably be compiled by the end of AF so about, early August-ish if I keep up the pace. thank you for the ask!! i've been staring at it for 543098 years trying to summarise the clown circus of a plot that primarily exists in my head + my friends' dms + and random docs that i scattered around over the years

i've had moor's edge since i was like... 14 i think? and the main gist is that penny and vera are on a quest to cure the latter's curse which is how they meet the rest of the gang! very typical fantasy dnd-esque setting with roadtrips and magic and what-have-you. here's a drawing my friend sent me in the post

if you want a more rambly explanation then look no further ! in as few words as possible - addy and dallas are freedom fighters and part of the local resistance, and kaori is a war-torn young doctor looking for her missing childhood friend. our duo picks them up on their travels because they all coincidentally wanna meet the same person: althea, queen of one of the kingdoms

and that's because her sister, aivara, went a little power-crazy after she lost the crown and cursed a bunch of people to build an army of beasts, so they could wreck shit at her disposal and help reclaim her rule. namely vera. this is also the same person that took kaori's aforementioned friend, june, "under her wing" amidst all the fighting and chaos. i think he might be the most miserable wet cat of a character second only to mithrun dunmeshi. anyway, point being everyone wants to speak with althea in hopes that she can fix her sister's mess and get her under control

it has your usual hero's journey sort of vibe that turns more convoluted along the way, with infighting and governmental corruption and messy character dynamics. there's more i could say but i wouldn't even know where to start with all the worldbuilding - all these characters have grown alongside me over the past 7 years, so it's really weird to think about their early designs! most of them are recycled fandom ocs so suffice to say they've changed a loooot

i think vera is probably the most important to me out of the bunch, because there's a lot of trans and chronic illness allegories with the whole beast debacle. the one thing i've had set in stone for ages is that she never gets cured in the end, just finds ways to make life more manageable with the help of a stable support system. below is an artfight attack from my friend ana <3

ART FIGHT SUMMARY 2024, SUCKAHS!

Second year of ArtFight and the first year I went all in on it. As opposed to my 4 attacks from 2023, this year I submitted 13! Before that, though, I gotta share others' attacks against me.

First, of course, is the lovely @pixel-exchange of Team Stardust who somehow managed to pump out *4* banger attacks against me this year! We were in a heated revenge war, which he ultimately beat me at, but I don't mind much, with how awesome his stuff was. I love how each turned out. I think my favorite may have been "Alone on the Moon", featuring my astronaut dog gal, Laika.

Second person to attack was @headphones-lifeform of Team Stardust who made this adorable bust of my Star Trek OC, Nurse Telos! He just looks wonderful, mad shoutouts to them!

Third is from a mutual of mine who actually attacked me in 2023; Croconiles from Stardust! (Twitter/Insta) He drew my skunk OC, Stripes, and she turned out heckin' excellent! Love that eyeshadow and the big nose.

Fourth is this hilarious little piece for my boy Werner by fellow Trekkie, @lyroart of Stardust! Love how goofy and weird his expression here is. Perfect for him with how wacky he is.

And lastly, we got this cute wittle pixel art profile for Laika from RevlisFox on Team Stardust. (CharHub) Looks super cute and I could totally imagine having something like this for a little family chart or the like.

Now, to move onto my attacks, firstly I have my revenge war with Pixel-Exchange. Big fan of how the first 2 looked, but the third was admittedly rushed. Still though, mate has some sweet designs.

Second, I have my attacks against LyRo the goat. Drew some of their Star Trek OCs. Calvin had my favorite design (guess why) but I really enjoyed Ena's personality, so I attacked em both!

Next we have my revenge against Headphones. I really liked this design for Niph in particular (guess why) and I really liked the concept for a cave-dwelling crewmate. Felt weird drawing props for once lol.

Next revenge was for Croconiles, with his silly little OC couple, Darby and Animal. Felt like it'd be fun to draw two characters interacting, and I like how they look in my style. Plus I just love the slight texture on his art.

And, the last of my revenges here is one against RevlisFox with this art of a character whose name I forgot. 😰 SORRY the character page got privated, I gotta wait until it's back up again. In any case, this was my final attack this year, and though a simple one, idk I kinda liked how it turned out.

So, moving away from revenges, here's my plain ol' attacks against artists I like!

First are my attacks against Keiiphobix (YT/Insta) of Team Stardust! No joke, one of my new favorite artists on AF. Just wicked good, man! I drew his lil guy, Maurice (ISTG HE IS THE CUTEST FUCKING THING EVERRRRR) and Joy, who is the just spikiest fella ever <3

Next was Callum by PeculiarPossom (Twitter/Etsy) of Team Seafoam! Just a skinny freaky lil possum drummer boy. I can relate to his struggle of being a drummer with no band lol. Fun fact: I was in Canada when I drew this! Shoutout Quebec

After this is art of le bird boy, Matteo, owned by a YouTuber I watch, RedPanda Master! (YT/DA) I initially fell in love with them for their silly lil WoF shitposts, but I thought Matteo was just adorable, and a must-draw! They have some awesome fantasy designs, but a lotta them were too complex for me, so I naturally settled for the easiest and cutest one.

And finally, we come to the end of this longass megapost and arrive at my attack of @asrielwithans on Team Stardust, and no joke this may be my favorite attack I did. Aside from not really capturing the eeriness of Hollypaw, I love how this turned out. I first saw their Warriors fan content last year and I have been obsessed ever since. That Christmas Kids animation has been on loop in my brain for MONTHS. Their stuff is metal, seriously, Warriors fans and animatic fans, go watch it NOW.

Welp.... that's the end of my exhaustive post of my ArtFight activity this year. I definitely shoulda split this up into several smaller posts and I probably shouldn't have rambled so much in between the art but DAMN IT, I love all these artists and I needed to talk about each of em. Seriously, go follow all of them, go comment on their stuff, go share it around. I'm so thankful for the crazy amount of attention I got this year by those who attacked me, and I hope all the artists who I attacked loved seeing art of their characters. Although SeaFoam may have lost this year, I certainly didn't!

My Artfight 2024 Attacks Week 1!

I honestly am taking a break on saturday and sunday for art fight to avoid burnout! So I decided to post all my artfight attacks of the week. I think I may do this every week of July !

I did 18 attacks (4 friendly fire)! This is my first artfight, so I think I got really excited, and I just went ham! I probably am gonna go more slow next week, so I don't exhaust myself.

Warning!! You are probably gonna see me nerd out and gush about their ocs and mines! Especially the Dragon Age and Star Wars Ocs!

This attack was my first one, and I really enjoyed drawing their oc! The shape was really fun!

Second Attack ( @arimabari ) A Fadeful Meeting

This one was a dragon age oc, Lulafey Tabris!! It was a fellow tabris origin oc, so I drew them with my tabris (Kaellian Tabris) ! It is really interesting to see every one's dragon age oc have different personalities and different routes in Dragon Age Origins! I decided to have them meet in the Fade because currently Kaellian is stuck in the Fade because of her fellow elf wardens, Eloise Surana and Theron Mahariel, messing with the fade rifts that were everywhere during Dragon Age Inquisiton! And Allistar is there just because our tabris ocs happen to both romance Alistar. He may or may not have been left behind there from a certain decision in DAI, so I set up the premise for Lulafey going to save and find him!

This was my second friendly fire! But this piece was so funn!! Their oc Konar is a Jedi Knight and a consular, centered in Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic! (sidenote: I lowkey wanna play this game? It sounds really interesting. I heard there is a remake coming out in 2024 possibly?) And my oc Talon Akos is a jedi master from the clone wars era! I really loved the look of Konar, and I was like wait aren't our jedi from two different time periods? I made Konar stumbled upon Talon who somehow dimension/time traveled by accident. He is witnessing Talon in his most miserable state (he is without his clone captain Poppy).

I am probably gonna attack them again. They have interesting star wars ocs. ┗(｀O ´)┛

Rudy!! My Fnafsb OC!! + Info!!

Also!!! I realized that I never posted my beloved FNAF Security Breach OC here!!!!! Their name is Rudy and they are my beloved lil Deer animatronic! (I wanted to make them to be a reindeer originally but I also don't wanna change their nose so idk 💀💀)

Here is an older drawing of them too! They have rollerskates because I imagined that they would have a Roller rink attraction at the Pizza Plex called something cheesy like "Rudy's RollerRink Road" or something.

They would work at their attraction and sorta help people learn to Roller-skate, both for kids and for adults! They would encourage trying again and not giving up.

I remember that in-game, I thought of some mechanics they would have, like maybe they would be very fast while chasing Gregory (I imagine they also were effected by the virus like the other animatronics) since they are on roller skates, but their weakness would be when Gregory climbs stairs or escalators that Rudy can't follow him, or at least they are very slow while climbing them- this would be due to programming they have for saftey measures to be extra careful to avoid injuries of any guests (and for the company to avoid lawsuits 💀). So thus Rudy is programmed to avoid stairs, steps and sharp inclines like that to avoid injury or property damage.

I also like to imagine that Rudy's bell around their neck would give the player an indicator that they are near because I don't imagine them wanting to announce their presence like the other animatronics so that it's easier to catch Gregory, but obviously their bell doesn't really help with that too much.

I do imagine that their roller skates are removable, but they need assistance from an employee or machine to remove them. Their legs are also specially calibrated and have special hydrolics ingrained for better stability and balance while rollerblading making them the only animatronic to be able to without falling over- Thus if there were in the game, and had to have a part removed like the other animatronics I'd imagine maybe their legs? They would then find some replacement legs that they try to use but they would no longer have any balance and would walk slowly and clumsily around the Plex. If they went after Gregory and he gets out of the way soon enough, they would fall over as a mechanic and that could be utelized as ways to get out of a tricky situation for Gregory.

In their off-time I also imagine them hanging out with DJ Music Man a lot because they like to rave and just sorta hang out with him. They would be friends with all the glamrocks, in different ways, I think- but they would deem DJ as their best friend lol. As for Sun/Moon they probably don't get the chance to bond as much but I'm sure they would admire Sun/Moon's ability to work with tiny children so much. I don't think Rudy would like Vanessa too much, probably because they think she's kinda mean. Rudy would probably not talk to her unless it is 100% necessary.

But yeah!! Now you know about my silly Deer animatronic OC! If I remember any more details I forgot about I'll probably edit this blog later on or something haha!

Artfight attack for AF user kalliansketches. They didn't have a Tumblr but I linked their Linktree site for those that would like to give them a follow. I haven't decided on whether or not to post them all as I do on AF but I have been trying my best.

Still shaking and nervous after it went live. My guess it's just the nerves getting readjusted to being more exposed. Not familiar with FFXIV aside from what I've heard from others but I wanted to start off with a familiar character type.

I honestly fell in love with his design at first glance and just had to draw him! he's canonically a drummer and in a band, but I realised I couldn't draw instruments for the life of me after attempting to put him in a studio

my next best idea was to draw him in "his room" - you'll have to ask Mentichi if it's in character or not- so there he is! please excuse the lack of shading and general messiness, I was getting a little overwhelmed with artfight at the moment and needed to prioritize a hopefully upcoming multiattack (depends on if I get permission from the other artists to post it on here) ^-^'
