You know the drill by now, I’ll judge whether an episode has all the qualities of a canon one, or is it just shameless filler. S14E1 Sexual Healing is LORE S14E2 The Tale of Scrotie McBoogerballs is FILLER
Both Tiger Woods and Sarah Jessica Parker are seen henching for Tom Cruise a few episodes later, so I suppose you can count them in, however in Sarah's case she was found dead in her origin episode, so that one counts less, but you can't really miss the point either way. Remember how often the show treated Butters only as a Kenny replacement? Well now it doesn't have to be an either/or deal, as we finally get never-seen-before the four boys + Butters dynamic. S14E3 Medicinal Fried Chicken is FILLER S14E4 You Have 0 Friends is FILLER
Randy and Eric get their first dual episode, which is two separate issue of the week storylines tied together by the beginning sequence. Stan goes on facebook before deleting it. S14E5 200 is CANON S14E6 201 is CANON
If you watch only the canon episodes, half the series is a build-up to these two excellent episodes. Watch these at any cost, they are spectacular and the main event I've been talking about all this time. In fact, I plan to dissect these two episodes in a separate post later. Kyle is from Jersey. Stan is a hoarder. One of them explains in detail Kyle's and Sheila's roots, and for that, despite never being talked again, at least it's part of the lore of who they are. In Stan and Mr Mackey's origin of their hoarding it's simply filler since that issue is not a huge part of their characters otherwise. Huge part of the canon, the immortality of Bradley is finally explained after so many years. The Coon also returns once more. S14E14 Créme Fraiche is CANON

supernatural s14e1 stranger in a strange land (w. andrew dabb)
pre-ep recap being ac/dc shot down in flames much better fit than metallica's nothing else matters from 13x01 vibe-wise and matching the pace of the clips. good job, guys. and smooth segue to it being on in the car

wtf jackles, what is this speaking voice/cadence. reminds me of keanu reeves?? usually when i make really out there sound associations, i'm a little high. but that is not the case today. he's acting more like an agent than neo, but getting the keanu vibes :p i can't think of what movie specifically i'm thinking of. the devil's advocate and constantine are the other two keanu movies i've seen a bunch, but i dunno
never good when i'm pulling a clip in the first few minutes 🥴 gonna be a 2-3 day watch i'm guessing.
also don't really understand the styling choices. i get that it helps make a big visual difference between michael and dean, but like. dude wasn't dressing like this old timey fancy man with a flat cap in the au world. is this 20s-ish? never seen peaky blinders but this seems kinda similar? reading about collar pins and bars now. lol

in a way i wish i could have watched this without any knowledge of fandom because my knee jerk response is, ew. because i just don't see anything between dean and cas, i have a hard time grasping they're even close, i've just tried to accept it because the show tells us all the time. but maybe i could have come around to it more if i didn't know about the screaming zeitgeist that is destiel. or maybe i'd have the same reaction, i don't know. but anyway perpetually disgruntled knowing that my reaction is always colored somewhat due to fandom. i try to watch objectively but i know my feelings on things outside the show color my feelings of stuff inside the show

hey this is gonna sound weird but I got back into spn VERY RECENTLY and I want to draw something for Nov 5th (used to do spn fanart way back in the day) but I haven't seen a bunch of the eps from the last few seasons (post S11). I don't have time to rewatch them all before the 5th, do you have a list of eps I should prioritize? Also I'm open to concepts/ideas for the art, I'm good at realism mostly. thank u sooooo much for ur help but also I blame u and the hellers in general for pulling me back in so the art is gonna be dedicated to u guys
hey, that's awesome!! i'm very glad you're back!! here's some episodes you might want to cram in before nov. 5th, from s12 onward! bolded are, in my opinion, essential in terms of understanding either the plot or the fandom (’C’ for ‘cule as in desticule) but of course i’ll advise that you read the plot summaries for any eps you can’t watch, including those that aren’t listed!!
s12e1 — keep calm and carry on : first ep of the season, i assume this would be easiest to start with so you can recall s11, and also just so you can get the gist of where the season will be headed. [PLOT]
s12e8 — LOTUS : introduces you to kelly kline. it's not my favorite and it's a bucklemming ep but plot-wise it might be important to know who kelly is, though tbh you can just read the synopsis and you should be fine. [PLOT]
s12e10 — lily sunder has some regrets : just a genuinely great episode! lots of cas background info and dean/cas moments [C]
s12e12 — stuck in the middle with you : davy perez ep!! cas says i love you!! sorta plot-heavy i GUESS? but if you want destiel angst then this is for you. it's mostly about the angst. [C]
s12e19 — the future : really important in terms of jack [PLOT]
s12e23 — all along the watchtower : season finale in which Very Significant things happen. s13 picks up right from where this leaves off. beginning of the widower arc. [PLOT, C]
s13e1 — lost and found : again, first ep of s13, lots of destiel angst (beautiful beautiful angst. the jacting joices....superb) [PLOT, C]
s13e4 — the big empty : cas!!! answers the question of what happened to him. [PLOT]
gonna go ahead and mention here that in order to watch s13e6 you should probably watch, like. the last ten minutes of s13e5, because again, ep 6 picks up right where ep 5 leaves off.
s13e6 — tombstone : destiel must-watch and end of the widower arc. also significant in terms of jack's development [PLOT, C]
s13e10 — wayward sisters : read the synopsis of ep 9 beforehand though if you want to get a background on kaia. [PLOT, C]
s13e16 — scoobynatural : 'nuff said. [C]
s13e19 — funeralia : not necessary but there’s a good amt. of rowena and cas in this ep so <3 [C]
s13e23 — let the good times roll : season finale, lots of stuff happens plot-wise [PLOT]
s14e1— stranger in a strange land : “i thought you two were joined at the—you know. everything.” really a slow ep tbh, but read the synopsis [C]
s14e3 — the scar : dean is back! there is a scene bt dean/cas in which the score makes me lose my goddamn mind. [PLOT, C]
s14e4 — mint condition : not essential, but a favorite. you’ll especially want to watch it if you’re a dean girl (gn) [C]
s14e7 — unhuman nature : again not necessary, but good jack development/jack scenes with his family [C]
s14e8 — byzantium : VERY important plot wise, re: cas and jack. [PLOT, C]
s14e10 — nihilism : so good. so very very good. also, pamela barnes. [PLOT, C]
do not watch s14e13 lebanon. i repeat, disregard lebanon.
s14e14 — ouroboros : again, one of my faves. gay motw, and v cute scene between dean and cas (: also, rowena!!! [C]
s14e17 — game night : the plot in this ep bleeds through onto the divorce arc of season 15. the ending is...ambiguous, but you can either watch 14x18 or find out what happens in the summary of that ep [PLOT]
s14e20 — moriah : again, a season finale. eps 18-20 really hinge on the events of 14x17, so all you really need to know is that they’re all v upset about [redacted redacted], which happens in ep 17. [PLOT]
s15e3 — the rupture : what i consider to be part one of three re: the divorce arc. also we’ve got a good smattering of characters and it’s important for plot reasons [PLOT, C]
s15e6 — golden time : part 2 of 3 in divorce arc. definite angst, lots of cas, and lots of eileen ((: [PLOT, C]
s15e9 — the trap : now, ofc this is part 3 of 3 in the divorce arc, and while it may be a great dean/cas ep, i must say it’s also one of my favorite sam episodes. sorry, but you really can’t skip this one!! [PLOT, C]
s15e10 — the heroes' journey : one of my favorite episodes, but it's garth-centric and you can really read all you need to know via episode summary but still. the implications of this ep haunt me. why lamp. [C]
s15e17 — unity : lots of god-stuff happening, and it leads into 15x18 [PLOT, C]
s15e18 — despair : the last episode of spn!! [PLOT, C]
so, added up, that’s 4 essential eps in season 12, 4 essential eps in season 13, 4 essential eps in season 14, and 5 essential eps in season 15. grand total of 17 eps across all four seasons! (which is less than one full season of the show)
quick run down in case you need a TL;DR:
season 12: episodes 1, 10, 19 and 23
season 13: episodes 1, 6, 10, and 23
season 14: episodes 3, 8, 10, and 17
season 15: episodes 3, 6, 9, 17, and 18

They could be primarily instructional or educational, or entertaining as is the case in situation comedy and game shows. A drama program usually features a set of actors playing characters in a historical or contemporary setting. The program follows their lives and adventures. Before the 141414s, shows (except for soap opera-type serials) typically remained static without story arcs, and the main characters and premise changed little. If some change happened to the characters’ lives during the episode, it was usually undone by the end. Because of this, the episodes could be broadcast in any order. 17. I have watched ten seasons of this show (I didn’t watch the kid’s season), and I don’t think I’ve ever wept watching the first audition of the season. Dude said he was gonna dance “breaking contemporary” and I got my hopes up and he didn’t let me down. His audition reminded me a lot of Melanie Moore from Season 8. I don’t know what he just healed in me, but his audition just made me let go of some bad juju I didn’t realize I was holding onto.

21. “Nice samba rolls,” says Nigel. “Beautiful,” replies Vanessa Hudgens, as if she knows what a samba roll is.
22. There’s something a little too presentational about Vasily, like he’s watching how well he’s dancing instead of truly connecting with Kristina. She is stunning though, and I absolutely believe in the story she’s telling.
23. I do love, however, that Mary Murphy cried from watching this routine. I love when she gets to experience her passion for ballroom dance like this.
24. “When you guys kissed in the turn, my heart exploded!” exclaims Vanessa Hudgens. She gazes off into the distance as she whispers to herself, “This could be the start of something new.”

25. Robert Green just pulled out a violin for his video intro. I don’t know what’s about to happen, but I’m here for it.

27. Oh, but he’s dancing to “I’m Better” by Missy Elliott. I’m happy again.
28. I really love the humor he’s finding in the choreography to this. It reminds me of Trevor Bryce’s audition, except original. Even outside of the humor, he’s finding all these little beats to hit in the song that I didn’t know existed.

29. I feel like I already know this girl relies on her hair too much.
30. She seems like the kind of girl who would say, “omg I love Vanessa Hudgens” and mean it.
31. Her solo is a bit flail-y for me, but she has really great body control when it comes to actual dance moves. Sometimes her “sexiness” seems a bit awkward, though, like she’s trying too hard to be sexy instead of just dancing and letting the choreography be sexy. I feel like she can’t decide between smiling or being sexy so she’s doing both.
32. But naturally she makes it through to the Academy. I don’t see her making top 20 though.

34. One thing I love is that when the judges can tell someone really loves dancing but is not good at it, they say “I don’t think it will fit on this show, but keep doing what you’re doing.” Like, dude has fun dancing, and they don’t want to crush that.

35. I love when Cat talks to the dancers about their stories. You can tell that she really cares about them, and it’s not just artifice. And yet she still hasn’t won a fucking Emmy.
36. Also, I’m really proud of Darius for getting through his abusive history with dance as a coping mechanism.
37. I got chills from his very first movement. I already know the story he’s telling, and it’s good. He’s good. He’s a good dancer. His choreography needs a little work as far as transitions go, but he’s got great power and technique. He absolutely floats across the floor.
38. I did not cry watching him dance, but I did get a little teary-eyed seeing how emotional his godmother got watching him dance.
39. Between Darius and Mark Villaver, I apparently needed a good cry tonight.

40. I don’t know what I just watched, but I had THE MOST visceral reaction to it, and that’s what art should do. I don’t know exactly what it made me feel—terror, anticipation, pity, anger, revulsion, a lot of things just randomly bubbled up and died away—and I really, really love that. I don’t NEED to know what the story is, I just need to see one being told, and sometimes the secrets tell me more than the explanation.
41. That being said, I also felt like maybe it was about Rasputin and the Romanovs?
42. Perhaps one of the most well-earned standing ovations from the judges.
