pairing: class president!riize x sneaky!gf!reader— masterlist
⭑.ᐟ shotaro
You needed to pass economics, but it was way too difficult for you. After a tutoring session with your teacher, they decided you’d need to stay after school and study with the class president. Luckily (or maybe not), the president happened to be your boyfriend, so you figured it might even be fun.
After a few weeks of studying together, you realized that while you enjoyed spending time with Shotaro, you absolutely hated economics. No matter how hard you tried, it didn’t make sense to you. Shotaro kept saying you were improving, but you felt like he was just trying to motivate you.
That day, you’d had enough. You were exhausted from school and your friends had invited you to grab bubble tea after class. Without a second thought, you decided to ditch your tutoring session with Shotaro.
Not even half an hour later, Shotaro walked into the bubble tea shop where you were with your friends. His expression showed a hint of disappointment as he approached you.
“Really, y/n?”
Hearing his tone, you thought he was mad, so you quickly stood up, placing a hand on his shoulder to apologize.
“I’m sorry, Taro, I was just...”
“No, don’t say anything… I’ll forgive you if you buy me a drink and promise not to do it again. Honestly, I was kind of tired today too…” he said with a small smile, gently brushing his hand against your cheek.
⭑.ᐟ eunseok
You hated history; learning about the past just bored you to death. That’s why you’d told your teacher you weren’t feeling well and needed to rest in the nurse’s office, giving you the perfect excuse to skip class. Luckily, the nurse’s office was empty, so you got comfortable on one of the beds while watching videos on your phone.
The door suddenly opened, and when you looked up, you were surprised to see your boyfriend, Eunseok. Once he noticed you weren’t in your seat, he had asked the teacher what had happened. As soon as he heard you’d “felt unwell,” he knew it was a lie.
“You hate history that much?” he said, closing the door behind him and shaking his head as he approached your bed.
You tried to hide your phone, but Eunseok was quicker, grabbing it and sighing when he saw you were just watching gameplay videos.
“You know how much I hate it…” you said, meeting his gaze.
“You’re going back to class, aren’t you?” you asked, knowing the answer before he nodded, gently brushing your hair with his hand.
“Fine… but can’t we stay here for just five minutes?”
Eunseok hesitated, unsure if this was another ploy to avoid class. After a few moments, he relented, lying down beside you on the small bed to watch the video together.
“But only five minutes, okay?”
⭑.ᐟ sungchan
“What are you doing here? Didn’t you have a club meeting?”
Your eyes widened as you realized Sungchan was standing in front of you in the hallway. Being your boyfriend and the class president, he always kept a close eye on what everyone was up to.
You’d told him you had a meeting after class, but laziness got the best of you, and you decided to skip it. With most people already gone, you hadn’t expected to run into him.
“Oh… I, uh…”
You tried to turn and run, but Sungchan quickly grabbed your arm, pulling you closer as he raised an eyebrow at you.
“Hm… So, you’re skipping the meeting, huh?”
You nodded several times, giving him a pitiful look, knowing Sungchan hated when people skipped responsibilities. Still, you also knew you were his weakness. He stared at you for a few moments, clearly trying to scold you, but your expression made him look away, clearing his throat.
“Well… uh… I was going to invite you to my place, but only if you promise not to skip a meeting again, okay?”
⭑.ᐟ wonbin
During class, you asked to use the restroom, but your real plan was to get away and head to the gym to practice. You were too bored to stay in class and figured rehearsing was a better use of your time.
Although the teacher didn’t notice you’d been gone for over 20 minutes, Wonbin, your boyfriend, did. Knowing you too well, he immediately figured you’d just skipped.
Even though he hated leaving in the middle of class, Wonbin also asked to use the restroom and came straight to the gym, where he knew you’d be.
When you saw him at the door, you stopped the music.
“Aww, you noticed I wasn’t in class,” you teased as Wonbin approached.
“You know you can’t skip class to practice,” he said, crossing his arms and trying to look authoritative.
It was his duty to make sure everyone stayed in class, but you knew he had a soft spot for you. When he gave you that look, you couldn’t resist.
“Fine! Let’s go, I’ll go back to class…” you said, grabbing your things.
“Wait. Show me the choreography once, and then we’ll go back. Promise me you won’t skip again, okay? You know how much I hate missing class…”
⭑.ᐟ seunghan
As the school year came to a close, teachers were holding one-on-one meetings to discuss grades and performance. You dreaded these meetings because they always told you the same thing: your grades weren’t great, and you needed to try harder next year.
Even though the meeting was mandatory, you made up an excuse about an after-school activity to get out of it. Your plan was working perfectly, until Seunghan, your boyfriend, caught you at the school exit, raising an eyebrow at you.
“Done with your meeting already?” he asked, glancing at his phone to check the time.
“Well… uh…”
“You’re trying to skip, aren’t you?” His silence after the question was enough to make you squirm. “You know how important these meetings are, y/n…”
“I know, I know. But… they always say the same thing, and I don’t want to hear again that I need to improve. I already know that,” you said, frustrated.
Seunghan listened intently, knowing your struggles with school all too well. Brushing a strand of your hair behind your ear, he leaned closer.
“How about I go with you? If I’m there, maybe they’ll be easier on you. Plus, no one will question me since I’m the class president.”
Blushing at his suggestion, you reluctantly nodded. “Fine…”
⭑.ᐟ sohee
“What are you doing here? Class starts in two minutes.”
Sitting at the top of the stairs, you looked down to see Sohee staring up at you. He’d caught you red-handed.
“Uh…”
You were planning to hide there through your next class because you didn’t feel like going to music. You didn’t get the rhythms and felt like you contributed nothing, so why bother?
Seeing your expression, Sohee sighed and climbed the stairs.
“You weren’t thinking about skipping class, were you, y/n?”
“It’s just… I hate music class. I don’t add anything to it.”
“How can you say that? You’re with me, and I love watching you during practice,” he said with a playful grin.
His words made you smile, but you shook your head. “I don’t know…”
“You know I won’t leave until you come with me, right? I’m not letting you skip.”
Knowing he was serious, you gave in, standing up and taking his hand.
“Besides, I know you love hearing me sing…”
“Shut up, Sohee…”
⭑.ᐟ anton
You found out that morning that there was a math test later that day. Not only had you forgotten to study, but you also hated math. So, you decided to sneak away before the test and hide on the rooftop.
You’d been up there for about half an hour when the door opened, startling you. Turning around, you saw Anton.
“Skipping a test? Really?” he said, approaching you.
As the class president, and your boyfriend, Anton always kept tabs on everyone, especially you. No matter how many times you promised to stop skipping, he always managed to catch you.
Sitting beside you, he leaned against the wall and waited for an explanation.
“I forgot we had a test…” you mumbled, embarrassed. Anton sighed, shaking his head.
“I’ll ask the teacher to let you retake it tomorrow, but you have to promise to spend the evening studying with me, and no more skipping.”
Spending the evening with him? That sounded like the perfect plan. Even if studying wasn’t your favorite, you nodded eagerly and gave him a quick kiss before heading back to class together.

Hi, I hope you're having a decent day! I'm sorry if this is an invasive set of questions - feel free not to answer - but do you still actively like DSaF as your own creation, or is it more of a "it was fun while it lasted but i outgrew it and it's for the best to leave it behind" kind of project? Do you ever regret making the games? If you knew they would get so popular, is there anything you would have changed about them? Is there anywhere I could read more of your writing.
It fluctuates a bit. These last couple of years, I've really just been sorta nostalgic for it. I've seen a lot of people discuss those games being a source of comfort during bad times in their lives, people talking about how much the characters mean to them and it's hard not to smile when you see that.
It's a funny thing for close friends of yours to see people WITH fanmade DSaF merch out in the wild, or to watch a random youtube video and being hit with a DSaF reference outta nowhere. It happens from time to time, even today. On a few occasions, I've even had a person reference my work to me in real life and not realize who they were talking to, believe it or not. It's really fun to play dumb and get someone to explain your work to you like you don't know what it is.
I certainly didn't think any of that would happen when I first made the series, or even during development. I think the normal assumption would be to look at DSaF as it exists now and assume its release was a peak for it, but believe it or not, the official discord only had 30 people in it shortly before 3 dropped! The archive listing of the series (reposted to a single page after the series ended) is now sitting at over 1.1 MILLION downloads.
People kinda assume the true heyday of something is when it's new, when it's fresh and novel. For instance, some people look back at when FNaF itself was new and see that time as its peak because it had a lot of internet cultural relevance as big new indie thing on the block. But, raw numbers don't lie. The series has been continually growing since its conception and that growth has similarly bled over to its fan projects. This explains why DSaF, despite not having a new series release in almost 6 years, seems to be inexplicably growing.
Just recently, I saw someone post footage of a scene from DSaF 2 on Twitter, which got over 16k likes. People praised its writing and largely celebrated the scene. The ironic thing about that particular scene is that I remembered being unsure if it was good or not, so I showed it off in one of the FNaF community hubs. The response was broadly lukewarm to negative. Now, it's held up as one of the best scenes in those games. That's kind of the point I'm trying to make, my thoughts on the series have certainly changed with everyone's else with years of hindsight.
Heh. I'm not sure if I've talked about this in a long time, but y'know, the very first scene I implemented in-game was actually the very first Phone Guy scene in DSaF 1, more or less exactly how it appears in-game today. This was before I'd even written the bulk of the game. I was pretty unfamiliar with visual novels as a whole, pretty unsure if something like this would be palatable to a fandom that was really just used to sit 'n' survive stuff that were far more gameplay than text. I mean, there wasn't any FNaF fangames really LIKE DSaF before that point. Closest was FNaFb, a jokey turn based RPG made in the same engine.
The engine I made the game in is also not exactly fit for VNs out of the box either, and I wasn't 100% sure the idea would actually work. But, the very first time I added the image of the prize corner, Phone Guy, the audio of that iconic cheesy stock track and booted up a test screen, I had a little moment where I said "Oh. I think I'm onto something interesting here." I kinda remembering instantly realizing in that single moment how much potential the idea had. Over 8 years later, I still remember that moment like it was yesterday.
I think lately, that's the sort of stuff I think of when I see people coming to me and asking about the series. Yes, it's really rough around the edges, yes, there's jokes that've aged poorly. But, it is a source of comfort for people and entertains tens of thousands of people each month. And that's gotta count for something, right?

Genre: smut
Pairing: gamer! Bf! Jungkook X afab! Reader
Summary: You decide to try cock warming while he plays a game, but it doesn’t go as planned…
Word count: ~1k
Warnings/tags: cock warming, teasing, praising, restriction (f cums when he wants to), penetration, lil aftercare.
✿✼:*゚:༅。.。༅:*・゚゚・⭑
Jungkook, your boyfriend, is a famous streamer. That means, he plays a lot of video games, and very often. Usually, it wasn’t a problem. But sometimes, he was too much into the games and wouldn’t give you any attention.
In the end, you’d just sulk and he’d always come talk to you again. But today, you wanted to do something different…
You always wanted to try cock warming. So today, you’re planning on cock warming him while he plays on his ps5.
You watch him as he’s concentrated on his gameplay and talking to his friends.
Then, you gather your confidence and decide to finally make your move and get closer to him. But with his gamer headset, he cannot hear you. Though it didn’t take long for him to notice you standing behind his expensive gaming chair, thanks to his screen’s reflection.
Standing there, you slide your hands down his torso and give him a kiss on his neck. And when he felt your soft lips against his sweet neck, he smiled and rose his eyebrows to ask you what you’re doing, before taking off his headset.
‘you know what I wanna try?’
You ask him.
‘What?’
He says amused, looking at you and the screen back and forth.
‘I wanna try cock warming.’
You say confidently. You were a bit scared of his reaction, but you knew he was usually open to try new stuff so you knew it’d be fine. After hearing your confession, his eyes widen in shock as he mutes his mic immediately.
‘Baby everyone could hear you!’
He sighs.
‘When? When do you want to do that?’
He finally asks, curious since he’s never done that.
‘Now. Just keep playing the game I’ll sit on it.’
You answer. He slowly nods before fully consenting to it and takes his pants and boxers off in one go. Quickly, he comes back to the game as he was afk for too long, and since his teammates were yelling at him, he had no other choice but to unmute his mic and insult them back.
While he insulted his friends, you had the time to take off your pants and panties. Then, you look at his tall, thick and veiny cock standing on its own. He was already hard and it couldn’t look better.
‘You stupid!! Behind yo-‘
He yelled before feeling your warm walls surrounding around his cock. He keeps cursing under his breath and gets one of his hands off of the controller, to grab your hips.
You, relaxed, let your back fall on his chest, then, you let your head fall back on his shoulder and you close your eyes to feel every inch of him. You can feel his hot breath on your neck, and you can feel him holding himself back from thrusting into you.
‘You alright?’
His friends ask.
‘Yeah yeah…’
Your boyfriend lies, he clearly couldn’t handle being in you without doing anything. The more time passed, the harder he got.
And to tease him even more, you decide to move a little bit, bend over, and slightly jump when he kills.
‘Fuck…’
He whispers, then act like everything is normal after his friends ask him what’s wrong. Later, since you see him struggling and you want to please him, you decide to give him a chance to fuck you. You get closer to his ear.
‘Win the game and I’ll jump on it.’
You tell him. You words motivate him and he starts playing way more seriously. He doesn’t let anyone touch him and kills them all.
You occasionally praising him with ‘good boy’ or ‘good job’.
Once it was only him and another player on the game, he went on full try hard mode. He loved the adrenaline.
But it didn’t last long since he saw the other player, and killed him in a second. ‘Top #1’ appearing on the screen. He’s happy that he won but is even happier about what’s going to happen.
He throws the controller on the bed, mutes again his mic and grabs firmly your hips. Hands sliding to your ass from times to times.
You start jumping on him easily thanks to your wetness and his pre-cum, as he moans in relief. All you can hear now is the sound of your ass slapping against his hips, the wet sound of your pre-cum mixing together, and your moans.
Every time he lets you take the lead while making love it always reminds you of when he came late from work, tired, and he’d just beg you to fuck him or suck him off. It was one of the few times he let you take the lead, or be a top.
You do your best to fuck him good. You go deep, then fast, then aggressive, then slow…
The game was still on and Jungkook’s friends were still calling for him. So loudly that you could hear them even without having the headset on. But he didn’t care, he was too busy and you were his priority.
Suddenly, you feel like your orgasm approaching and making you weaker. Consequently, you’re getting more sloppy.
But he feels it and with his hands already on your hips, he helps you jump up and down on it and guides you to rock your hips against his.
‘I- I’m gonna cu-cum!’
You cry out. Your walls clenching around his thick cock.
‘Hold it. Be a good girl and only cum when I tell you to.’
He says in a deep voice.
‘O-okay!’
So you do your best to not disappoint your lovely boyfriend, and do your best to not cum. His moans get louder and harmonize with yours. He also gets more and more aggressive, faster, and keeps on hitting your sweet spot, like usual. But it doesn’t take long for him to reach his highest point.
Then suddenly, a long moan slips off in between his lips as he fills you up. Painting your walls with his white semen. He throws his head back and breathes heavily.
‘Now… cum for me baby girl.’
He says, tired but he still gathers his energy to give you his best performance. Without any surprise, in less than a minute you find yourself cumming all over his cock. Your juice mixing up with his, and as you get off of him, it slides down on Jungkook’s dick.
You still go back on his lap then to kiss him lazily but passionately, whispering sweet words to each other.
‘Good girl. You did a good job today.’
He whispers with his lips against yours.
Then, later, after bringing you to the toilet, he played two last games with you napping on his lap, your head on his shoulder and arms around him. Then after, he lifted you up and brought you to your bed, and let you sleep until he finished cooking dinner.

Self Aware AU (Xavier)
Summary: You have the lowest Affinity with Xavier. The reason is because you feel bad for the Queen MC and vow to play only the main story for his path so that you can find a way to return him to Queen MC safe, sound and happy end.

"Xavier, you sleep well yesterday?"
"Well enough for today, sir." He joked.
The man gave him a hearty laugh, "Good. Today we'll continue some fast movement for the next chapter. Have fun in it and do be careful."
"Understood."
"Oh, how is your caretaker service going."
He turned to see Madam CEO was sitting near the crew. He rubbed his neck nervously. She chuckled.
"That's quite alright. Take your time. But the player could use some help once in a while."
He nodded.
She was his mysterious employer. His job was mainly on modeling the character's movement for the game they were creating. His swordplay skill shone with every precision.
He was proud of his work. But it was not fulfilling enough. Something amiss from his endless swirling of nothingness.
+----------------+---------------------------------+
"Hello, Miss. I wonder why you always sound sad whenever I'm around." He pondered to himself.
He was monitoring this one player when she was gaming as per Madam CEO's request. He didn't receive many requests from madam but when he did, he worked fast like a traveling light.
Until this recent one.
He could hear her but he couldn't see her. The first thought that came to mind was either his phone was having technicality issues or the game updates were bugging. He went ahead and did simple checking on his side including enabling her mic.
"No... wait... please..."
Rigid.
His every fibre was shaken after hearing her voice. The endless swirl spotted a light.
"Please don't make me waste my precious tic- *Tring* wait... 5 star?!"
"Xavier! Yes!"
She sounded super happy when she said his name. He wanted to hear more.
"Hik...Xavier..."
But she sounded super sad sometimes.
"From now on, I'll make sure to get you back to Queen MC and live your life to the fullest together on the promised planet."
He was confused. Thus, he finally took an interest in actually getting to know the game he was a part of.
+----------------------------+------------------------+
"I get why she said it like that but I'm not him. You're not her. Haaa... wish I could tell her that I'm right here."
He saw her gameplay has changed. She rarely partnered up with him for the last month. It might not be a big deal since it was just a game but he couldn't resist feeling dejected.
"Please just increase our Affinity. I'll be having better chances when you feel comfortable enough with me, my counterpart at least."
+------------------+--------------------------------+
"Xavier, you look listless." A staff member nudged him.
He nodded politely before helping around. They were setting up snow-theme decoration for the upcoming video. Wires and devices surrounding the decoration in the middle of them all.
"WATCH OUT!"
He darted swiftly like the light.
*CRASH!!!*
"XAVIER!"
"Don't move him."
"Call medic."
Panicked voices surrounding him. His vision was clear but his hearing was not so much. He could see the staff he saved was shaking as people tried to clear the path for medic. The staff was taken aside for slight bleeding on the leg.
He smiled.
+----------------------------+------------------------+
A month.
That was how long it took for him to be discharged. A month of not being able to care for his gaming partner.
"Haven't been able to force myself out lately. Do others have a higher Affinity with her now?"
His sullen mood was gone the moment he was finally able to lay his eyes on her. Her cuteness was catching up on pulling his lips. His happiness in seeing her made him glow.
"I want to hold her. Dance with her. Having her in the circle of my arms." He silently wishes.
+-----------------------------+------------------------+
It came true. The new birthday banner. His birthday banner. He blushed.
Brows furrowed, "I want her to know. No more secrets. What would be best to do it?"
He pondered innocently.
+----------------------+------------------------------+
He didn't think things through.
"Umm...Hello..."
Silent.
"-sigh- she passed out."
There will always be consequences from actions.
But he was determined to get at least a positive outcome in it.
"Her name. Her number."
He stared at his phone for the longest time just relishing in having her personal information. HIM. Not his game counterpart. HERS. Her own circle and he liked that he was slowly stepping in that circle.
[May we meet in the dream too. My star.]
"I miss you already, star."
"I want to meet you."

He waited patiently for her.
*Bling*
[Sure. How about the library? We can find recipes together.]
He chuckled. Their first date was already on the point to tease him. As long as he could meet her, he'll be ready to pour all his heart on it.
[Sounds nice. I hope we can make it happen after reading it.]

[Nice.]
She was a bit different on the few texts before they stopped messaging each other after planning the where and when.
"Maybe she's nervous as much as I did."
+---------------------------+-----------------------+
Stepping into the library, blue eyes scanning the crowd. She's nowhere to be found.
Yet.
Lights in the library seemed to give her a spotlight.
My goodness.
How can she glow as soon as she stepped in an hour after he was settling down. He was about to get up when he noticed it.
Another person next to her. A girl. Her friend, perhaps. She was calm compared to his star who was clearly anxious at the moment.
He blinked, "Right. Of course. She must be nervous about meeting me alone."
He waited for them to settle down on any empty spot before he approached them. He needed to be calm about this.
He quirked his eyebrow when he saw her friend leave her at the table and walked behind the numerous bookshelves.
Confused but guessing she wanted to give privacy to them while still being around. He nodded to the conclusion.
Great friend.
He saw she was fidgeting while looking around nervously as he walked silently opposite to her.
He sat a bit far on the six seaters to give her the comfortable space. She didn't notice him and he kept staring. Enjoying being able to see her personally with his own eyes.
No screen.
No more crooked image.
Just her.
His star.
She jumped quietly, hands clutching in front of her chest when she finally turned to him.
Smiling has become a new habit for him.
"Hi, star." Breathless greeting.
She closed her eyes.
Head lulling.
Brows furrowed. His brows.
"Oh no."
Her head in his hand, inches away from the hard surface of a table.
He gave a small laughed and sighed fondly.

₊✩‧₊˚Your Biggest Fan! ˚₊✩‧₊
Characters: Streamer (Y/N) x Yandere!Fan Potential to become a series. If you're interested, stay tuned and stay wary ♡ .ᐟ
You are the literal embodiment of a college student: stressed yet laidback at random times, too tired to put a lot of effort to dress up unless it counted, and--most relevant of all--broke. And in this instance, you are disastrously broke.
After the most heated argument with your parents you ever had in your life, they sent a text message when you got home stating that they would no longer be providing financial support unless there is an dire emergency. To say you were panicked would be an understatement. Your parents typically refused to not send you money when you told them you didn't need it (you did). As much as the family bickered and made up as fast as temperatures change, they always threw money your way. The argument was spontaneous and could not have come at a worse time. Before it happened, you shared with them that you had just gotten fired from your part-time job.
You flop on your bed and pull out your phone to doomscroll the afternoon away. Classes have taken the energy out of you. You could job search, but you decide you deserve a break.
After an hour, you come across a video of a big streamer talking about their income with their chat. Your interest piques at the revealed amount of money they receive from streaming alone and from sponsorships. Getting paid to do whatever you want? It sounded like a dream.
It starts as a simple thought, but it wakes up with you the next morning and trails with you to class. More videos of streamers pop up while you try and dine to entertainment. You distract yourself at night with games, but you wake up still thinking of it.
After two weeks of overthinking about expenses, you decide to give in to the temptation. You were lucky your dorm was already paid for, but groceries are becoming harder to obtain already.
You make an account on CommLines one night and decorate your profile--fonts and all. You didn't expect for research to come into play, but you need as much engagement as possible.
The next night, you prepare to do your first stream. You're going to need to get the hang of things and a fanbase before you're eligible for payment.
The first five streams go as expected: the only viewer you receive during one of your gameplays leaves after 10 minutes without saying anything. You end your last stream with a sigh. Admittedly, it's a bit awkward talking to yourself, but you needed to add some clips to another social media account you made.
After talking about your family predicament with a friend in class, they offer you a job at their family's restaurant. It's only for one day a week since their parents are skeptical about their child's friends all the time, but you take it anyway. Any income is better than no income. Thankfully, the restaurant colleagues treat you better than your last job. You actually find yourself enjoying the place (save for the lunch rush, of course).
You're no longer as desperate for money, so the next time you stream, you let yourself loose. You're getting bored of the popular FPS you've been streaming, so you try out a niche RPG you saw another streamer play. It's quite fun thinking of yourself as a YooTube creator now! You're not worried about your reactions and the best way to play as much anymore. From then on, you stream when you have free time and feel like it.
Over the span of four months, your platform grows at a tremendous rate due to someone making one of your clips grow viral (though they title the video embarrassingly: "Top 5 Screams from New Players of Scary Scary Town: Horror RPG!!"). Your numbers aren't quite there to get monetized yet, but you average 100+ viewers per stream now. Your heart beats with passion when you start one after finals.
"Hey everyone! Nice to see you all again! Mwah!" you greet, throwing a silly little kiss at the camera. "I'm having a great day today. First one to guess is getting pinned why is getting pinned. Even if no one guesses, I'll tell you anyway~!"
Messages flood the chat.
You grin as you finally spot an answer. "I see someone! Mr.OWO--I can't believe I just said that--you got it so fast. I'm guessing you might also have classes. Lemme figure out--sorry, this is my first time pinning someone, but I know it's possible....there! That's it; I passed all of my finals!"
Praises and cute emojis pile up. You thank your followers and open a video. "As the title suggests, I'm not gaming this time. I'm doing a bit of hobby-exploring. See here, a friend gifted me this wooden box to store some stuff. I want to paint it, but I'm not the best at coming up with ideas. I was hoping you guys might be able to help me."
And so, you begin. You answer questions from chat while taking suggestions as you paint. Your hands get messy, your job isn't perfect, but you're having a great time. There ends up being no theme, but you love the doodles regardless.
Another suggestion rolls in. You read, "'I think you should paint a fox with a bowtie. By the way, I'm surprised you got this far.' That's a cute one, though I'm not sure how to take that last sentence....SheepyWolf23."
Huh. That name looks familiar.
SheepyWolf23: i was your only viewer in one of your streams a few months ago. you were playing GotchaHand2.
You gasp. "Oh my gosh! It's you! How did you find me again?!"
SheepyWolf23: i just saw you on my FYP streaming page but with much more subs. just wanted to check in but ended up staying and subbing XD SheepyWolf23: cant wait to join more
A laugh escapes your lips as heat rushes to your face. "Thank you so much for coming back! Everyone, SheepyWolf23 is my first viewer of all time. Crazy how things change, huh?"
You continue the stream as normal, though your inner feelings are otherwise. By midnight, your box is finally complete. It certainly has personality that you thank the chat for gifting. With a wave, you end the stream and wipe your eyes with your wrist. It's late and you need to clean up before bed.
The next morning, you wake to get ready for school. All is typical until you skim your phone while packing lunch. You nearly drop your tupperware.
A notification from a direct message on CommLines reads:
SheepyWolf23: hey! hope i'm not disturbing. i see you haven't set up donations yet. how do you feel abt donos?
Your heart beats in your chest. This is your first private message from a subscriber. The alarm on your phone blares, making you flinch. You hurriedly prepare to leave the dorm to get to class on time. The sun shines bright and the breeze tickles your legs on the way to campus--a good sign, you hope. You're a bit early, so you slip into a seat quietly and take out your note-taking necessities. No one in real life knows you stream yet; you're shy at the thought. Despite having already shown your face to the internet, you wish no one in real life approaches you about your online activities. Therefore, you hold off on opening the app until after classes.
When that time came, you drive home as quick as possible and throw yourself on the bed. You take a deep breath before replying.
Streamer(Y/N): hi! no, you're not, don't worry! to be honest, i'm not sure how to receive them and whether im at the right level to
Ping!
Wow. They're fast. Then again, it is the time when both workers and students of all grades start leaving their buildings.
SheepyWolf23: wdym level? Streamer(Y/N): im not sure how to describe it. i guess what i mean is that i'm not "big" enough? tho i dont really emphasize getting big as much as it is to have fun! SheepyWolf23: ohhh. don't worry about that! you have to be a certain "level" to be monetized, but donations can come at any time! i can help you Streamer(Y/N): really? that would be nice if it's no trouble! Streamer(Y/N): you're not gonna hack me, are you? SheepyWolf23: of course not XD promise
The user messages you instructions and suggestions for resources that can be useful. You spend the next hour examining them and finally choose one. They guide you, from making the app account to linking it to your streaming account. As part of the promise, they do not ask for your personal identifiers of any kind--not even once. The only thing he does have is the username, which is the same as your username for streaming.
Streamer(Y/N): i think it's done! SheepyWolf23: yup, that should be all. let me try something just to be sure.
You don't have time to wonder what it could be before a ping! resounds from your phone. On it is a notification from the money transfer app stating that you received $50 from SheepyWolf23. You gape and frantically fly your fingers across the keyboard.
Streamer(Y/N): you didn't have to donate! i'm grateful for your help and that's enough for me, i promise SheepyWolf23: haha don't worry about it. please don't send the money back. it's part of my fun money. and n e way, you deserve it for the sudden growth! i get to be your first viewer and your first donator XD Streamer(Y/N): omg you're right. thank you so much!! i srsly mean it SheepyWolf23: ur welcome! im going out with friends tonight, so i should get ready now. see you next stream ᵔᴥᵔ Streamer(Y/N): oh okay okay, have a good night! thank you again!
SheepyWolf23 doesn't answer back, concluding the conversation. Your grin could break your face. It's been forever since you felt you were on the right track of something. Maybe this was the start of your path to be part of the Top 10 Streamers online.
Oh, who were you kidding? You weren't going to get that far yet, but you're going to enjoy trying to your fullest.
Your next couple streams are all successes. A few people went out of their way to clip parts of the recording themselves to post on Yootube, which both enlightened and terrified you. You were going to have to be more careful about what you say, but to be honest, you haven't run into any problems with that so far. Still, it's a little scary to think that strangers anywhere in the world are viewing you. That's a cost of your streaming content you were willing to take.
You're in quite a chipper mood in class one day when you feel a tap on the shoulder. Turning around, you find your friend, Sherry, behind you with a smile. She gestures for you to hurry up and pack your things so you both can leave for lunch together. You do so. It wasn't a normal occurrence to eat out with friends during the weekdays, so today was extra special!
You two hop into Sherry's car and head to her restaurant--the one you work at. You'd guess most wouldn't want to dine at their workplace, but Sherry's employees make mean meals. You're both quickly escorted to a booth and delivered food; Sherry, with the power of the daughter of an establishment, receives only the best service.
"Thank you again, girl," you cheer as you feast immediately. "I'm so glad things are doing well here, from what your dad said last shift, anyway."
Sherry chuckles. "Yeah, you know you're doing great in the food service when the rushes are torture. I'm so sorry. You're on your feet much more than I am."
"Oh, don't worry about it! I'm grateful for the job, and you have to deal with the nasty customers at the register. I hate hearing old ladies yell at you. I just want to punch them!"
"Please don't!" Sherry chides half-heartedly, pointing her straw at you. She suddenly whispers, "Anyway, I heard my mom and dad talking about raises last night. You're for sure getting one. It's not by a lot, but I figure you need it."
Your eyes brighten, and you jump forward to hold her hand. "Really?! Oh my gawd, thank you, Sherry! I love you so much! I could kiss you!"
Sherry laughs aloud as you mimic kissing her. You catch an elderly couple side-eyeing, but you don't care. You finally sit back down and release a light sigh. "I feel like I've been dreaming lately. Things are going so well, and I actually feel alive!"
"That sounds good! How come?"
"Well, first of all, this job. Then, uh--" You flicker your eyes to the wall and hide your smile a bit. "--my hobbies have been making me real happy. Like painting and playing games, you know? I also started clay-making. It's harder than I thought, but I think I'll get the hang of it sometime."
Much to your surprise, Sherry's smile falls. Her mouth opens and closes hesitantly before she finally says, "(Y/N), can you be honest with me?"
"Huh? Yeah, of course. I've always been."
"Are you....streaming?"
Your heart drops. Your mind shouts at you to laugh it off, but your voice is caught in your throat. Was it really necessary to lie to someone who's helped you this much?
You don't need to make the decision. Sherry rests her elbows on the table and offers a tiny smile. "You do, don't you."
"Yeah...I do. How did you know?"
"I saw one of your clips on YooTube. I chalked it up to similarity at first, but I searched a couple more videos and couldn't deny it was you." She chuckled. "Thank goodness I was right. It would have been embarrassing if I was wrong."
"Please don't tell anyone, Sherry."
"I won't. I haven't. I'm glad you're doing something that makes you happy, but...just be careful, okay?"
"I am, don't worry!"
"I mean it, (Y/N)." She fiddles with her fork and drops her gaze to her plate. "I know it might not be my place to say, but I saw some....things people said. They're mostly good things, though! It's just...in the comments of a video, I saw someone talking about your shirt...hanging a bit--um--down, you know?"
"Oh my gosh. I wasn't exposing myself too much, was I?"
"No no. I was just a bit of cleavage, but the person was making it a bigger deal than it was." She rolled her eyes. "Some guys act like they've never seen a woman."
You take a bit of your food with furrowed brows. "I can't believe it. Thank you. I'll be more careful. I was having fun--I didn't realize. Oh. How much of my streams do you watch, if you don't mind me asking?"
She waves her hand. "I don't pay much attention to videogames, even less streams. The only streamer I know except you is the big one with red hair. Don't worry about whether I'm watching! No offense, but I'd rather go thrifting and make vlogs for my TappyGram!"
"Oh right. I saw the new video you posted. The pink top with bows was so cute! Who was that girl shopping with you?"
"My cousin! We both like pastels, so we went to the mall together to find some. Let me show you the stuff I didn't post!"
Sherry pulls out her phone, and the day continues. After lunch, she drops you off and bids you farewell before heading home. You head to your car yourself, grateful your professor cancelled class. When you get to your dorm room, you shower, change, and search the comments of every YooTube video of you you could find. It's probably best not to look for the comments Sherry told you about, but you're curious--too curious for your own good.
You finally find it.
RedCarsAre_Sexy: aw man, almost saw her tits ⤷ 608x: wtf? ⤷ TwinkleMonster: people like you are why police exist
Your stomach twists. It's okay. It's the internet, after all. There's bound to be people with thoughts that are better kept in their dirty minds. Should you address these thoughts with your subscribers? It'll definitely tell them you absolutely do not want this kind of behavior, but what if it draws the wrong attention instead? What if it somehow becomes controversial?
Discouraged, you opt to focus on your studies and friends. They do a great job of distracting you from the matter, so much so that three weeks passed since your last stream.
You're eating alone at a fast food joint while watching videos when a notification from CommLines pops up.
SheepyWolf23: hey! everything okay? just checking since u normally stream at least once within two weeks
"I do?" you mumbled with a fry in your mouth. You two haven't conversed since they helped you with setting up donation, so it was a bit of a relief to hear from them again. A little touching that they're concerned enough to inquire about it too. You open the app and message back.
Streamer(Y/N): hi again! im doing okay, no worries! i didnt realize that much time has passed since my last stream. i've been so focused on irl stuff i never really planned a time when i'd come back SheepyWolf23: oh that makes sense. sorry if this made you uncomfortable Streamer(Y/N): no no, pls dont be sorry. i should have put something in my bio saying im taking a rest SheepyWolf23: true but i dont think a lot of ppl would go to your CommLines bio for that. how abt making a server instead? like on DisKord? it would be easier to make announcements and talk to fans. Streamer(Y/N): huh, maybe i should. i'll make one when i finish eating SheepyWolf23: yay! can i be your first member? yknow, to match the first streak XD Streamer(Y/N): LOL sure!
SheepyWolf23 doesn't respond. You read your message again. Did it sound mean? It is kind of dry. You shake your head. People exist outside of you. Perhaps they became busy.
You finish your meal and return to your dorm. Your eyes skim the bedroom. Although you had decorated it to become somewhere cozy, the room unexpectedly feels solemn. You grab your laptop and sit at your desk to begin making the server. Eyes flicker to your phone. You tap it once or twice, but the screen is blank save for your background and the time.
Once the server is finished, you immediately message SheepyWolf23 about it. You go about random activities until a ping! sounds from across the room an hour later. You sprint over and unlock your phone as fast as lightning.
SheepyWolf23: thanks for the invite! um. i know this might be much to add, but would you be comfortable with giving me permissions so i can decorate the server, no offense! it's great, you have the right channels, but i have some experience and think i can make improvements you might like. just give me a theme and i'll do it to your liking!
Admittedly, you did the bare minimum that you guessed a streamer might need in a server. You were more focused on finishing to send the invite to SheepyWolf23. Their offer was generous, but it'd be bad if their permissions affected you negatively. Well, you were the owner. You have the power to remove someone's permissions.
Streamer(Y/N): that would be nice. are you able to finish it tonight? SheepyWolf23: if i get started now, i can have it done by 11:30pm sharp. Streamer(Y/N): awesome! i'll send a reference photo of the type of style i wish for the server to have. most of all, i want it to be a friendly & safe place for subscribers to talk in. anyone can join, even nonsubscribers.
After sending the photo, you spend the day doing chores while waiting in anticipation. Your steps have a beat, and you let happy music echo throughout the room.
SheepyWolf23 sends a message of his completion just as you settle into bed. You check the server and are amazed. The titles of the channels are decorated, the channels are more organized, and they've even added a few of their own: Rules, Clip Dump, and Suggestions.
Streamer(Y/N): wow! thank you so much again for helping me. i'm so lucky to have your attention! Streamer(Y/N): oops, that kind of sounds strange haha SheepyWolf23: XD NOOO, it's alright dw! i appreciate it a lot! i just thought i'd help since i have some experience with marketing and streamers is all
Oh. So you weren't the only one they've worked with? That's definitely benefit your...career? Or was it a hobby? It'd probably have to wait until you actually make a livable wage to call it a career. You never thought about going beyond posting clips of your own videos to market yourself, but SheepyWolf23 might know other ways that'd suit your niche of viewers. They might even know of secrets and tricks to the platform you're on.
A question pops into your mind. You lick your lips, wondering if this is even a concern you should bring up at all. Searching for an answer online was fine, but personal guidance just felt more....considerate. You give in.
Streamer(Y/N): i have a question that might sound a bit personal for a streamer to ask. you don't have to do anything for me, but i'd like some advice if you're willing to share
SheepyWolf23: i'll try to help as much as i can. what do you wanna know? Streamer(Y/N): someone brought to my attention that a person left an unsavory comment about my body in a YooTube video. i know people saying things you don't like is part of streaming, but i want to know how to deal with my discomfort. i want to avoid blocking people from my streams as much as possible, though SheepyWolf23: hm. tbh part of dealing with it is exposure, but i know that sucks. how abt this: in exchange for helping you this far, i can be your (first!!!) moderator. i don't intend to do anything sketchy with the position. this way, i can remove chat privileges from users and make your stream flow easier
Streamer(Y/N): omg yes please! can i message you before my next stream to give you the permissions you need? SheepyWolf23: of curse! SheepyWolf23: of course* SheepyWolf23: im gonna head to bed. getting kind of sleepy and gotta work tmrow. take care, Streamer(Y/N)! Streamer(Y/N): goodnight SheepyWolf! thank you again for helping me, sleep well!
You shut off your phone, drop your phone to your chest, and squeal while kicking feet in the air. You got your first moderator, and you didn't have to make a posting! SheepyWolf23 is so kind to not only return to you but also be your companion. It wouldn't be so professional to become friends with them, but just the thought sends electricity through your body.
A yawn escapes your lips. You close your eyes and daydream about becoming part of the Top 10 Streamers on the internet. There would never be a need for you to clock in during early hours. Rarely will you have to hear the screech of an alarm. You'd live a double life: a student by day and an entertainer by night. People would laugh at your jokes, tune into your gameplay with friends and family, and mourn when you'd go on break. You would be on stage to receive an award for your performance, and you'd wipe a tear while thanking the fans that made it possible. A party would conclude the ceremony. Your favorite streamers would approach you with glasses of wine and congratulate your success. One or two would ask for your phone number. The group would clink glasses and cheers.
Once the party simmers down, you'd gather your items and head for the door. A person lacking physical characteristics would approach you and take your hand to whisk you into their--your--shared car.
The day kisses you farewell.

In a house far away from where your campus, a man older than you by only two years hugs his phone close to his chest in bed. He stares at his DMs on CommLines, a streaming platform he's all too familiar with. Euphoria rushes through his veins as he reads a message his newfound favorite streamer had sent.
Streamer(Y/N): wow! thank you so much again for helping me. i'm so lucky to have your attention!
He's received thanks before, but it's never been phrased like that. He didn't think he really needed to help with anything since you already had his attention because of your success journey. It isn't that much different from other streamers, admittedly, but it was different enough in the mere fact that HE was your number one.
He screenshots the message and adds it into his Hidden photo album. Your words are a blessing to poor him, who's been needing to find more enjoyment in his boring life.
He'll need to be careful not to take anymore overtime work. Your streaming schedule wasn't set yet, and he wasn't planning on missing one moment.
Not when your career was in his care.

"I saw in the dark. Two floors below me, two women of the same soul spoke about the fate of the world."
Anyway i decided to combine the text posts with image posts so now uhh have this stupid image at the beginning.
So, today's text post is going to be about a completely unrelated to YIIK's lore bug that for sure will be fixed in later versions but i just want to share it cause it's pretty fun imo. First of all the backstory of how i found about this bug, there's this youtube channel called "Year of Chen Official YouTube" which seems like perfectly normal youtube yiik themed channel except their last 2 video which have no text or voice in them and it's just really long footage of gameplay, so they can either be a paid actor or they just went insane or something and decided to do their last 2 videos like that.
The first of these 2 videos ("YIIK 2022 05 17 18 29 21 BIT?") is nearly 30 minutes long and most of these is either just main menu or Alex falling into the void, the most interesting part of this video is author acitvating some weird bug or something and getting the background of Factory Hotel room to be blue and also enemies that weren't there before spawning, fighting them and then running/winning results in Alex falling in endless void. And uh, the bug is real! Btw before i talk about the bug i want to note how the video's description is encrypted and upon translation says:"I am uncertain But my mind is telling me We must BACK IN TIME https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n8au3gdSu8Y" with the link redirecting you to a link only Zelda video about back in time glitch, this video link makes me somewhat believe that if at least not the bug itself but this video description could be somehow a hint by the devs. Anyway back to the bug, first of all you need to go back to Factory Hotel after visiting it for the first time, which you can do after getting key from Mancer's gate.Specifically you need to get to this room:
Then after going to the Fire Escape room and going through windows you need to get to this window:
Enter it and then comes to most important part. In this place there is a water fountain, currently there is a bug where if you interact with a water fountain and then press exit button youwill then be able to walk while still being in exit menu.
After that in this state go back to the window with ladder and interact with it, while having NO as chosen option.
It will result in game freezing for a bit after you climb the ladder aaaand
You bugged the game! The most notable effect of this is the blue fog appearing on background, however there are also few more effects of this bug i managed to notice: 1.All monsters in this room will respawn, including even one that aren't supposed to spawn there yet. 2. The lever and the barrier it turns off will be reset to default. 3.All sound will be echoed like in the fire escape room. And the main, fourth one is that making game re load you into this room you will instead spawn back in the fire escape room falling endlessly in the void, from which you can't escape except closing the game.
This can be achieved by 3 ways: fighting a monster and then running away or winning, saving in such state and then loading this save, entering and exiting mind dungeon. You can easily cancel this state by going to either back to Fire Escape room or using the elevator to any other floor. The coordinates in which you spawn in Fire Escape room seem to be somewhat connected to spawning coordinates in room which you were in before falling in the void, if you go to Mind Dungeon, enter the halls zone, then leave it and leave Mind Dungeon you will still spawn in Fire Escape room, however you will spawn on walkable collider and can escape back.
Uh, that's it. Thanks for reading.

Sorry for spamming all the likes but your Varric theories are so good and I am 100 percent in agreement with every single one of them (BioWare Bianca is gone, let us romance the silver fox please).
Also a question: we saw today that the main companions all mocapped for the cinematic scenes. Do you think this means Brian Bloom also mocapped for the first time for Varric and we may potentially get an actual, full performance of how he’s always intended him to be physically? 👀
omg thank you! i appreciate that you're enjoying my posts.
i don't know enough about the BTS of dragon age to know if they'd mocap all the characters or just the main companions & rook. it's also possible that just because mocap was used in a lot of scenes, doesn't necessarily mean it was used for every scene in the game.
but i will say when i was watching the 20 minute gameplay i felt like it featured some of the best animation bioware's ever done as a game studio, especially on varric and solas' facial expressions during their confrontation. one of the things that caught my eye was varric squeezing bianca before aiming her at solas. and his expression before separating from the group, you can literally see the moment where he strengthens his resolve to confront solas. it's little things like that that excite me about the character animation in the game.
right now they seem very tight-lipped on varric's role in datv so i don't expect to see any BTS stuff with brian bloom anytime soon. but i'd love to see videos of him in the mocap suit eventually, maybe after the game is out idk.
#dragon age#datv#varric tethras#and when it comes out the brian bloom as varric gawk gawk 3000ing our rook mocap video what then#how will we move on from that as a society

(G)I-DLE Miyeon x M & F Reader - “The Woman Of My Dreams”
One of my longest one-shots ever made with 10,700+ word count! Enjoy... reading, I guess? Hehe...
The weekend is about to end tomorrow, but that won't stop you from continuously spending all of the free time you have with whatever you want to do that would provide you entertainment or relaxation.
One of them is to play video games on his desktop computer. Currently, your cousins have offered you an invitation, which you eagerly accepted.
The longing and anticipation to interact with them, at least for today, is what compelled you to join them.
Sitting on his comfortable gaming chair, he focusedly monitored his movements on Valorant, the game that he's playing, underlying on the instincts and strategized aspect that would be handy on securing a victory for their group.
"There's the one, it's heading to B guys."
One of your male cousins spoke to the mic. You are the only one left on your squad, while the opposite still has two more left.
You traveled around on the paths that would lead you to Base B, but as you were about to arrive there, you were met by an update saying that the team had already done the most crucial part of the gameplay.
"They planted the spike now. Be careful, YN."
You slowly checked if there may be traces found that will got them obvious of guarding the spike. Having nothing, you began to formulate a plan on how you will infiltrate the base without getting killed.
You still do believe that they're inside and they're just really good at hiding.
"Damn it, I'm taking the risk now guys." You breathed deeply for a few seconds before you executed the action, invading the base with 15 seconds remaining before the rounds ends.
Looking back and forth, YN then heard footsteps right away. He/she saw the enemy hiding near the crates, and killed it with a sniper.
"Go, YN! Cmon hurry!"
You were startled when you noticed that a damage took hit by your character Phoenix after getting slightly shot on the back.
9 seconds remaining.
Holding the keys and some quick shifts of the mouse, you rotated Phoenix quickly and aimed it at the last one before firing a shotgun at the player.
All wiped out, the cousins elicited a mix of joy and panic as they simulteanously shouted for you to disattach the spike.
Thankfully, it was 1 second left where you successfully did it. You won the game and all of you celebrated while sending their praises for YN's smart play.
"Nice game, YN. That was very close."
"Yeah, I actually thought I wouldn't make it." you chuckled.
"Nice clutch. The luck was on us, so let's just be grateful with it."
All of you agreed with it. Back at the lobby, you decided to fix your settings for a bit while waiting for them since there's one of them haven't pressed the ready button yet.
Chatting along with them about some randomized topics, your cousin returned and spoke on the mic to alert the rest.
"Sorry guys, just did a bathroom break. We can go-"
"Loveee, do you want some sandwiches?", a certain feminine person spoke in the background which could be clearly heard by all of you who are now smirking and having teaseful faces.
"Wait, what?"
"Sandwiches. I made some for us."
"Woah really?"
"Mmmhhmm go get some."
It was a brief silence for a while before that woman unexpectedly spoke for all of you.
"Oh, I'm sorry guys. I know you are playing with Beomgyu here. I didn't mean to interrupt of whatsoever."
"No, it's okay Shuhua. We get it." Taehyun said, who is one of your male cousins you are currently playing with.
"Hi, Shuhua!" you and Minnie who is your other cousin greeted.
"Hey guys!"
"Apology accepted only if you make us some sandwiches too next time we meet, okay?"
"Oh you guys." Shuhua laughed. "Come here anytime you guys want, that's a note taken."
"Thanks for this, love. It was so good."
You were listening to their conversation and couldn't help but alter your emotions in order to feel less happy of hearing the sweet sentiments they exchanged with one another.
You became curious again about what it truly feels like to be in your cousin's position and have a loving girlfriend accompany you with anything you may want to receive that would probably satisfy your needs and desires.
You couldn't help but be little envious of your cousin for already dating someone great. Knowing the issues you're facing, it appears that some fixation is still needed for you to become like him. Nevertheless, you still wanted to become like him one day.
"Glad you liked it. I'm going back there, continue playing with your cousins. Love you!"
"Thanks again for this, love you too!"
A sound of a door shutting close was heard. you closed the loadout and stopped your thoughts about that to focus back in the game.
"Damnit, Beomgyu. What's with the sudden slap of reality that we wouldn't be that lucky as you." Kai said, earning a hilarious response from the rest.
"It wasn't intentional, okay? And cmon guys, just find somebody around. Who knows, maybe you guys can be as blessed as I am now too. I don't want to be the only one left being like this from all of us, ya know." Beomgyu advised.
You wondered about that. It's not as easy as it looks, especially for a guy/girl like you who not a social person.
After another hour of playing with them, you cut off the call and ended the game. Thinking of wanting to get some rest, you head to the bedroom and slumped your body on the bed lazily, where you slowly fell asleep.
~~~~~~~~~~
"Why are you crying? Tell me, please."
"You keep on ignoring me these past few days like I've done something wrong that I don't even recall doing one. Did I really do one?"
"N-No, you don't okay? I-"
"Then what is it? Everytime I see you away I can tell that there's something wrong. You don't even lay an eye on me if you wanted to or speak fluently if I try you to. Do you hate me now, YN?"
"Please, don't say it like that."
"You're making me feel lonely, YN. When I made myself to be youf friend, I thought that we would be nothing but happy with everything. But now, it feels like there's something changing again and I'm confused what to do to keep you from me. Are you gonna leave me, YN?"
"N-No, I don't! Please, listen to me-"
"WAAAAAHHH HUH... HAAGGHH... HA..."
You sprung your eyes up in a state of shock and petrified as you rose your body from the bed.
Looking around the room and at your clock, you noticed that it was still 2 o'clock early in the morning. The sky is still dark, with moonlight shining through the posts on the streets, illuminating your window.
For the nth time, you had this dream again of being with somebody you didn't even know or couldn't even identify. But judging by her appearance, she looks like a girl. She wears this dress that has different colors in every dream you have with her.
Everything is describable except for her face. Imagine it being blocked by strong sunlight. It was blank, but you knew that you had to do something to fill it up and reveal the answer.
The question though, is... how?
Anyway, you still feel sleepy, so you don't mind it that much for now. You considered it just one of your strange nights that bothered you. Returning back to your bed, you closed your eyes and proceeded with your peaceful slumber to doze off into the remaining hours ahead.
-------------------------------
You went to school without much help again with your parents, with your mom and dad both away from work. This is where you mostly learn how to be dependable to yourself and mature in your actions and mindset to support yourself on your own.
Fortunately, you have your grandmother with you, but as a request, you didn't want her to assist you too much because you feel like you will never learn how to stand up for yourself.
Additionally, you didn't want her to be disturbed or get tired just to do things for you that you could even do easily by yourself.
Despite the hesitation, she just agreed and didn't take it with hard feelings. She understood that you just wanted to be thoughtful of hers, so the only thing she can repay you for is to do the same for you as she monitors you around silently, just in case you struggled and there you will finally need some for her to do.
Back at the scene, you went to class early since it's Monday and there's a flag ceremony being held whenever it's the start of the school week again.
After that, you endured lengthy lectures from every professor about your three different subjects slated for the first half of your class schedule. The bell rang just in time for the instructor to distribute the required assignment.
Bringing your own lunch box to avoid spending most of your money, especially when you are saving up to buy a precious thing, you looked for a vacant spot and sat there.
As usual, you were all alone, just like you wanted, so you opened up your lunch box and prayed before scooping a spoonful and having your first munch.
While you were eating silently as you disregarded the numerous people in the same room as yours, you became oblivious enough not to be aware of this random girl suddenly appearing in front of you.
"That's a nice looking cooked lunch you have there." A girly voice spoke near at you. You paused your hand in mid-air when you heard that.
Looking upwards, you met a figure of a random schoolgirl with her tray filled with her orders being holded in her hands. "Uhh, I'm sorry?"
"Chicken nuggets with bacon and egg, that's a must win for sure!" The girl lets out one of the cheerful and mellow giggle you've ever heard in your entire life, but you didn't made it obvious because you still are trying to figure this out:
"May I know your concern why did you appear in my spot?"
"Correction: OUR spot." The girl placed her tray on the table and sat on the empty chair in front of you.
"What the- hey!"
"Thanks for the seat!"
Your face crumpled in confusion at the guts of this girl to just came up with her own doing without permission of somebody else. "Miss, I didn't even allowed you to seat with me. Leave."
"Aww that's sad of you, but don't you ever get bored of being alone?" The girl frowned. You look at her closely now that she's very near in front of you. Awe-struck and dumbfounded, you recognized this girl's beauty and adorable features.
She has pearly white skin, her cheeks are pinkish enough to be misintepreted that she always blushes at certain reasons, her black long hair organized neatly and that shiny smile she has displayed over you.
"I'm not. I've been doing this for a long time now and I got pretty used to it."
"Yeah, I know. I've been seeing you here every week, nothing but yourself eating on your own. I could tell that exactly that you ain't bothered anymore of being alone." The girl replied. You were quite surprised that she's already noticing you every day. It didn't crossed your mind that other would care about it as less as you do.
"You do?"
"Mmhmmm. I'm not being a stalker or what, huh! Just look around, you're the only one who doesn't have any classmates to eat with. I mean... no offense but, why didn't you just eat at the classroom?"
"My classmates always steal my food from me." You answered. "And my patience is thin so... I found the perfect place for me not to get interrupted."
"Ohhh... but still it doesn't look right that you are different than every one here." The girl began to take out the orders laid on the tray.
"I'm sorry, miss. I barely even know you, why does it bother you that much?"
"Because...
.... I want to be your friend."
"What?"
"You heard me." The girl smugged. "I've been wanting to do this but now that I've seeing you frequently without having change was enough for me to do it so... I took the move now then."
"Sorry, miss. I appreciate the concern but I'm truly fine, really. You can have some other students there as your friend. They'll need it more." You said with a forced apologetic smile as you start comsuming the last remaining portions you have in your plate. "Please, leave."
"Oh... okay then. If that's what you want." The girl pouted and brought her orders back on the tray and she stands up on her seat. "I didn't meant to be rude but... hey, my names Miyeon. How about you?"
"I won't gonna tell, please just go away." You avoided her look as you continued to focus on your food.
"Fine. I might failed today but I'm getting it soon anyway." The girl whose name is Miyeon shrugged. "But take this as my word, mister. I won't going to stop! As much as you like or not, Cho Miyeon is going to be your friend from now on!"
She raised her fist to the sky and left joyfully, returning to her original position. You were left gawking and furrowing your eyebrows as you were astonished at how authoritarian this Miyeon is.
You may be skilled at pretending, but you couldn't lie deep within yourself that Miyeon successfully had you built a fascination for her.
The bell chimes again to signify that class resumes. Recess is over, so you left your spot and walked through the hallway. You noticed that Miyeon speedily walked ahead of you, watching her skip and hum softly as she entered her classroom. You realized that hers was just next to you.
When the class ended, it was bad timing that the heavy rainfall advisory that was announced earlier in the news arrived at noontime. You forgot to bring an umbrella, so you cursed under your breath and defeatedly watched the other students freely escape the campus with their belongings.
"How am I going to get home early with this? Should I call grandma? Nah... I don't want her to get sick. Ugh, now I'm going to stay here for I don't know how long. I'm pretty tired now; I want to rest already," You muttered to yourself.
As you kept on watching the rain fall hardly to the wet and soaked ground, you were startled when an umbrella opened beside you. You look it up to see who owns that hand that holds it, and to your surprise, it was Miyeon who is smiling again at you just like she did earlier.
"Forgot to bring yours huh."
"W-what are you doing here?"
"Uhh, going home?" Miyeon replied, it sounded sarcastic so you couldn't help but to begun doubting her.
"Are you stalking me, Miyeon?"
"Oooh now calling me with my name huh, that's better." Miyeon giggled. You almost get lost again by that soothing sound. "And what did I say back in the recess, I wasn't intentionally stalking you. It happens that we have this... great timing between us to caught up with one another."
"Ugh, whatever you say." You shook your head.
"Don't believe me? I was just late because I had to help my professor check our tests today. You can ask hin if y-"
"Yeah yeah, alright fine. I believe you now. No need."
"See, that was easy." Miyeon smirked. "Don't try to be arrogant, YN. If that works with others, that won't be the same for me."
"I-I'm not..." you gritted your teeth and grunted. "Argh, you're annoying. I didn't even asked for you to come here, act like my friend and accompany me."
"You sure you don't want to?" Miyeon looked at you before she side-eyed the heavy rain outside while she wiggles her umbrella.
"N-No." You looked away from her.
"Are you sure? Huhhh okay then, I'm going now. I hope you finally get home after 3 hours of waiting, I heard that the rain will s-"
She was about to step on the staircase when you quickly made her halt.
"No, wait! Stop, f-fine! C-can I join you under your umbrella?"
Miyeon grinned and raised it above her head. "There you go. Now get on my side!"
You embarassingly went beside her and tried to adjust your weight at Miyeon's level of holding the umbrella. "I-I just don't have any other choice, okay? Don't take this like I still accept your initiation."
"Yeah yeah whatever you say, YN." Miyeon rolled her eyes and mischieviously smickered at you. "You're welcome, by the way."
You shook your head at her mockery as a payback for what you did to her.
As you and Miyeon started to walk through the middle of the rain, you can feel the coldness through your skins and your socks and shoes getting soaked.
You sensed Miyeon's hand starting to be challenged with the force of the heavy rainfall dripping down to the surface of the umbrella that causes it to be pressed down and sway unsteadily.
You didn't want the girl to bring you both into a much difficult situation by possibly dropping or slipping down the umbrella in her hold that could cause you both getting bathed in the rain so you did what it had to be done and possibly get sick.
You don't want her to be sick and cost her attendance.
"Let me." You patted Miyeon's hand on the handle. She looked upon you as she felt that slight touches of your fingers to her skin.
"I'll be holding it. You can't take this longer. Just... hold on to me if you want, don't stay out and wet yourself from the rain."
Miyeon slowly lends the umbrella to you, listening to your suggestion. Being the one holding it, you strengthened your arm so that it can handle the pressure of the raindrops.
Feeling a bit shy and grateful at the same time, Miyeon slowly moves her hands on the arm you are using and gripped it with just a right tightness.
"Thank you, YN. I didn't know you were this gentleman too, huh."
"Stop teasing me Miyeon. I'm just doing this because I don't want us to get sick because you accidentally let go of the umbrella with your shaky hand." You said while you remain your glance on the direction you both are heading too.
"So, we'll be going to your house first then."
"Ofcourse, you own the umbrella."
"Yay, so I get to see your house also today? Woah, isn't that cool that we just became friends today and now I'm here with you on the way to your place?!"
"Again, I'm not your friend, Miyeon. I'm just letting you do the favor because I needed it."
"Heh. He's still in denial" Miyeon blurted in her mind.
"Sure, YN. You don't really sound exactly like you're approaching a friend for that." Miyeon winked and nuzzled her head at your arm which taken you aback and confusingly get flustered at her action.
All you have to do is sigh and endure this new company you're having with Miyeon.
Despite all of your stubborn remarks that went against Miyeon's desire to be friends with you, those engagement that you did along with her conversations she had with you along your trails beneath the rain that slowly builds the closeness between you and her says otherwise.
Then few days later, you had to finally submit as you admitted to Miyeon that you acknowledge her now as your friend. Your very first official friend around the campus.
She's just too irresistable and "annoying", that's why.
2 MONTHS LATER
Your friendship with Miyeon became broad as it developed over time with your daily interactions with each other. Ever since you finally decided to be her friend, she couldn't leave you alone unattended with her attention.
You could tell it was exaggerated now, but you don't really mind at all at the same time. In fact, she was helping you in some other way. It's not a big deal to you because, at some point, you needed her presence, whether physically or maybe through some social media where you two stay connected with each other.
At least she knows what to do and how to adjust if she observes. If you were in a bad mood, she just let you burst out whatever you wanted to release from this uncomfy feeling that you'd been containing inside of you. Miyeon has become the trustworthy person to whom you can open up about your personal troubles.
If you needed entertainment, she was just right there, all ready to join your fun, whatever you wanted, which was playing video games. It was even better to know that she's a gamer girl and loves anime. Both of you correlate with each other, and that's impressive to think about.
Sometimes, it makes you wonder if meeting someone like her was a coincidence or meant to happen. It was like meeting yourself but in the form of another person, and you can't even describe how compatible you feel because of Miyeon.
With all that, it's safe to say that you've actually grown to like all of these things that you're having with Miyeon. This annoying, playful, bubbly girl who just invaded your space turns out to be a blessing in disguise in your life.
Today was an event currently being held on your campus. This requires all the students to participate, so that being said, it allowed everyone to be free from their class. Technically speaking, it was just like you went to school today only to hang out with your classmates... and of course, that unescapable friend of yours who has been nowhere to be seen for 3 hours now after you last saw each other in the locker area.
"You could've sold some of your collections, man" your classmate named Yeonjun said to your other classmate named Soobin. You three were sitting at the kiosk, doing a multiplayer game for the third and final round.
"I know, but it's hard if I'm not fully decided to do it. I know some were just a waste of space in my room, but at the same time I couldn't let it go because it was too special to me. Those were original qualities, guys" Soobin replied while moving his thumbs around the screen of his phone.
"Man, if only I have that much of a money I would've bought yours right away. Your One Piece figurines were sick man." Yeonjun said. "We're friends anyway, Bin. Can you just give it to me if you al-"
"Hep hep! Nah, that's the line there. Yes, I can borrow it to you though but giving it away... I can't waste that much of a money by just giving it away." Yeonjun declined. "No offense, man."
"It's fine I was just kidding anyways." Soobin rippled his lower lip. You were still listening to their conversation while your concentration remains intact to the game which was effective to bring yourselves into victory.
"Nice one, YN! Good game guys."
"Well that was easy."
"Good thing their team wasn't that skilled, haha." You said before turning off your phone.
"Hey, lets go visit those booths there. I'm getting invested to see what they have in store for the students to buy. Lets go?" Soobin suggested. You and Yeonjun agreed, leaving the kiosk and walking your way towards the open ground in front of the accountancy building.
You've seen the products from those student entrepreneurs that indeed holds up various reasons on why these should be bought and gain and income to this idea they had.
From milkshakes, to old clothes, to jewelries and many more... the students have many to choose.
There were some other booths that only provides entertainment service for students to try, and the example you were seeing at is this booth that gives everyone an opportunity to do a-
"Wedding pictorial?" Yeonjun reads the placard. "So... does this mean-"
"They need two students, one each for boys and girls that can act as two wedding couples for a pictorial."
"Oh I see, so this is simply for students who wants to take a chance to have a pictures with their crushes but in a daring way, huh." You elaborated.
"Like that."
The three of you saw a female student and a male dressed in a tuxedo and a wedding gown with flowers on their hands. They went to a stand that shows a background suited for a wedding.
All of the students cheered and screamed in flattery as they witnessed the two seem to like each other mutually and finally have a picture with each other.
As they were finished, they removed the props, and you followed the sight of the girls, and you figured out that it was one of Miyeon's classmates who was also at the booth with you.
"Both of us had our picture now, come on Miyeon you can't be the only one left behind!" one of her classmates named Soyeon shook her arm.
"B-but I don't have a crush-"
"Then just fake it out and look for somebody! We should all be fair with each other so you better find one for you too, Miyeon." her other classmate who just previously tried the pictorial named Yuqi insisted.
While there's other students who are having a picture in the booth, that gave Miyeon a few more time to find. Fortunately, as she roamed her eyes, it landed on a perfect option that she had.
Actually, it was pretty stupid that she didn't think of this guy knowing that he's the only boy she's close with.
Miyeon ran and tugged your arm while you are observing the toys displayed from the other booth.
"W-what the- Miyeon?"
"Follow me!"
"Eh? W-where are you taking me you crazy girl! Get your hands away!"
You tried to remove her arm but despite of this girl's thin physique, her grip is actually strong and unescapable.
You concede defeat as she pushed you to the booth where the same wedding concept is being done.
"Oh no." You immediately answered and tried to leave but Miyeon blocked your way.
"Pleaseee~ just one, YN." Miyeon looked up at you and pleaded.
"Miyeon we could have a picture but not in this?!"
"My classmates wants me to try it too, I'm the only one in the group who doesn't have one yet. Can you help me?"
"Miyeon, I said no. Where are they? I'll talk with them."
"Pleaseee, YN? Just once, promise! Let's try this."
"Miyeon, this is just for people who have feeli-"
"Hey, are you two gonna take the turn or what?" One of the student entrepreneurs asked irritably, interrupting your conversation.
"I'll make it up to you, I swear." Miyeon quickly whispered. "For now, let's get married and be my groom."
"Whaaa?"
"We'll take it!" Miyeon yelled and the crowd cheered, including your respective classmates who are very intrigued and supportive with this.
"OOOHHH YES! LET'S GOOO YN!"
"AAAAAAAAA YN?! I KNEW THAT IT'S HIM, MIYEON!"
"Look what you did." You hissed as you dressed yourself up
"Hehe, oops." Miyeon fakely made herself accountable.
You and she walked outside the backroom and stepped out with your props. The photographer directed you both to stick at each other very close and pretend like you two just married each other today.
Miyeon cuddled your arm, and you slowly pressed the side of your head against hers. Everyone was just shrieking and howling in madness at how unaware they were that you both looked incredible together.
You glanced Miyeon aside for a moment, and you saw her large grin on her face and her supple touch on your arms as you viewed her in a wedding-like attire. She was undeniably magnificent and gorgeous. How much more if you saw her up close with you in a real wedding gown, having her married with you?
Your eyes widened and then blinked rapidly as you sweeped away that thought. You began asking yourself mentally why did you even had that kind of idea? She's your friend, damnit. That was a curse directed for yourself.
"Kid, are you good now?" The photographer asked for clarification.
"Y-yes, sir."
"Alright, on three. One, two, three!"
The camera flashed as the photographer captured an image of you and Miyeon together. You were confused about why the screams went louder after that.
You both removed the props before you joined Miyeon to look at the picture.
In your bewilderment, you saw a result far from what you were expecting.
Miyeon changed her pose in the last second, where she faced you and pursed her lips while closing her eyes, almost touching your cheek.
As you looked back at Miyeon. She nodded and hummed in satisfaction.
"Well, that worked." She gave you a thumbs up before she immediately ran back to her classmates who began to tease her more. You just stared as she disappeared in your eyes, not minding Yeonjun and Soobin teasing you also, as you were so preoccupied with what just Miyeon did to you.
When you two walk yourselves on the way home, you and her would just talk again at each other about some topics that would have yourselves get related with.
"Wait, can you wait here for a second? I'll just have to buy a medicine." She excused herself as she went through the pharmacy store where you two just stopped in front of.
You waited for her like she told you to, gradually browsing at your phone for a while before she returns back to your side and continue walking along with her.
Reaching the roads where you and her would be seperating ways, she faced you as you led yourselves at the corner of the sidewalk.
She reached for her pocket and opened her wallet where she reached and placed on her hand the fake wedding picture you two had earlier and lend it to you.
You felt a bit awkward facing her after what happened earlier. You thought she won't gonna make a reference of it during your talk with her so you decided to just go with the flow instead but here you two are and there's no dodging it now.
"About earlier, I'm sorry for what I did." Miyeon said as you reached the picture from her. "I thought that it will make it realistic so I tried, but ofc I know that would be entirely against you so... I just pretended like I would give you a kiss. But still, thanks for joining me despite how I humiliated ourselves earlier."
You looked at the picture again then at her. "I wasn't angry about it, Miyeon. Don't overthink about it. I do like it though. Atleast in ours, we put a little twist so yeah... I like it."
Miyeon nodded and smiled in relief. "That's good. Okay, well let's go home now. See you tomorrow! Bye, YN!"
"Bye, Miyeon. Be safe." You smiled and waved back at her as you two went to your directions.
After Miyeon enters her house, she smiled and was overwhelmed that you also share the same approval of that moment you two just shared.
4 MONTHS LATER
You and Miyeon just finished your third year in college. Only a year remains before you and she finally finish your studies and achieve that master's degree that will help you both further label yourselves as professionals in your chosen specialization.
However, this may be a thrilling and more encouraging year for the both of you. But bad luck made its entrance into your lives when things started to transform into a difficult situation for you two.
"You got it?" You asked Miyeon and shown her the registration form in your hand which you will receive after filling up the enrollment form that will be presented to you after reaching your turn in the line.
"Yeah, I have it." Miyeon softly waves the piece of paper in her hand.
"Let's go, where do you want to eat first?" You asked her as you joined her side as you leave the building.
"At the-" Miyeon lets out heavy breaths before continuing, but it was still uncomplete when she elicited another batch of heavy breaths in between. Her speaking has gone low because of her volume either.
"Miyeon, are you okay?" You asked her worriedly. Based on your observation she looks so exhausted, dried up and lame. Her face just shows pale expression and no sign of uplift at all.
"I'm good. I'm good, thanks for as-"
"Miyeon? MIYEON!" You suddenly exclaimed when Miyeon collapsed beside your leg. You kneeled and inspected her, her eyes are still open but barely moving.
Raising up her arms and gently tapped at her face, you asked her once again. "Miyeon, hey. Stay awake, okay? Here, drink some water."
You offered your tumbler which still has coldness on the water inside. You helped Miyeon to drink, lifting the container and hold it in place to support her mouth.
Carrying her with ease, you brought her down in one of the benches which you helped her fix her sitting position. You wiped the sweat around her neck, head and arms and used the folder of your documents as a handfan to give her more air.
"You okay? How are you feeling, Miyeon?"
"I-I don't know, I just got tired... again.' Miyeon unenergetically responded. You probably guessed that she was very nervous and the hot atmosphere of this sunny afternoon wasn't contributing well to her state that's why she got drained immediately from the amount of heat and stress she had to endure.
"I'm going to take you home, okay? Let's just go out some other day. You have to rest for now." Miyeon just nodded understandably. You crouched in front of her, your back facing her.
"Hold onto me, I'll piggyback you."
"But YN, I can walk-...."
"Don't make me repeat again, Miyeon."
Miyeon placed her arms around your neck and you tightened its lock before you placed your hands underneath her thighs as you carried her body until you got both of you grab a ride on a bus.
Knocking in her house, her mother answered the call. She became very concerned just when she saw you having her daughter who looks very unwell.
"What happened to her?!"
"She just collapsed when we are about to exit the school, Mrs. Cho. I figured she was very dizzy and intensely tired. Have she eaten already?"
"She did took a lunch but I don't know she got weak. Oh, no. Could it be... a-anyways I'll take care of this here. Thank you for escorting my daughter, YN."
"You're welcome, Mrs. Cho." You gently bowed before you slowly lowered down Miyeon on your back with her mother helping her.
"I-I'm sorry, YN..."
"No, get well soon Miyeon. Take care of your health for now. We can have it again next time." You patted her head before you left her with her mother.
As a commitment to your promise for her, you went out in the weekend just a day after Miyeon had a proper rest. You enjoyed your free time with her through strolling outside and explore new places where both made more moments together.
While you and her were taking a break after hours of shopping at the grass outside the mall where the playground for kids were also located, you were just watching videos on Facebook while eating your ice cream when you felt a weight on your shoulder.
You glanced to the side, witnessing Miyeon who already fell asleep with her head laying atop of your shoulder.
Her phone was left open in her phone, displaying her home screen, but what struck you the most is that the wallpaper she's using was a picture of you and her from the recognition day of your classes, holding your respective medals hanging around your neck.
You were touched that she's making reasons to express how proud she is to see you as her beloved friend, but you can't depict if that's the same reason brought by the happiness you were feeling after seeing your photo with her.
Your hand reached up to her newly dyed pink hair and gently stroked it, swaying some strands that were blocking her face and there she was, her full beauty exposed only reserved for you to be seen up close.
Here you are again, secretly praising how beautiful and unreal features. If only you could tell this to her straightforward without sounding suspicious, you would've done it right away.
Because she earns it. She deserves every compliments for a nice girl like her.
Even in her asleep, she still manages to look breathtaking. Everything she does is already exceptional for you, and it was just plain insane to think about it.
As you were about to remove the phone from her hand, your hand paused on its movement and just stayed on top of it. It came to your attention that your heartbeat increased, your skin shivered, blood rushed aggressively, and your cheeks were numbing at the red tint forming that you couldn't even see.
Looking back at Miyeon, you created questions inside your head about whether this feeling you're still having isn't mutual to each other's friendship anymore. This time, you are the only one who's starting to grow a deeper admiration and love for her than the friendly relationship you have with her.
You quickly removed your hand from her and placed her phone away for safety. Looking away at her and staring up at the night sky, you gulped and released a heavy sigh at the thoughts forming in your head.
Days later, Miyeon gets to notice that you are beginning to avoid her, either making up excuses not to participate with her, acting cold, or pretending like you don't know her.
It was worse than the attitude he was trying to pull off when she first met you and offered her welcoming friendship to you. She knows that she was just trying to keep your walls up as you think about the decision to let her be close to you because you never experienced having an actual friend to get along with.
But this time, it was just like you were forcing yourself for no particular or obvious reason. Miyeon was completely clueless as to what drives you to act differently again toward her.
That's why when you joined her after days of not being around her like you always used to do, she couldn't hold her worry and frustration anymore.
You were still silent because you've been sensing Miyeon's unusual blank demeanor. You couldn't able to have her engage in a conversation especially that you are the introverted one. As much as you wanted to talk with her, you instead decided to give her some space as it seems like she's not in a good mood.
"Goodbye, Miyeon. Let's play later if you don't have assignments like me, alright?" You said to her.
Before you're about to continue walking, you heard Miyeon calling your name from behind.
You turned around, and it surprised you to see her eyes with pool of tears, one just dropped across her face.
"Miyeon? What's wrong?" You stepped forward, inching your gap with her.
"What did I do, YN?" She asked you sadly.
"Why are you crying? Tell me, please."
"You keep on ignoring me these past few days like I've done something wrong that I don't even recall doing one. Did I really do one?" She sulked, removing her view as she couldn't bear to stare at you after what you've done to her.
"N-No, you don't okay? I-"
"Then what is it? Everytime I see you away I can tell that there's something wrong. You don't even lay an eye on me if you wanted to or speak fluently if I try you to. Do you hate me now, YN?" Her voice cracked, painfully cracking your heart a bit.
"Please, don't say it like that."
"You're making me feel lonely, YN. When I made myself to be your friend, I thought that we would be nothing but happy with everything. But now, it feels like there's something changing again and I'm confused what to do to keep you from me. Are you gonna leave me, YN?"
"N-No, I don't! Please, listen to me." You hold both of her arms and caressed it. "I just had a trouble about figuring myself. It's in me, you don't have anything to do with it, Miyeon. That's it, and I needed some alone time to figure and settle it on my own."
"Why couldn't you just tell me that you do, YN? You know I would be willing to adjust for you while I wait when you need me fir help. Have you forgot?"
To be honest, you did and that's where it hit the spot of your guilt.
"I'm sorry, Miyeon." You bowed your head.
Miyeon sighed and placed her hand on your shoulder. "Are you being insecure, discouraged of yourself again?"
"W-what?" You asked her, a glimpse of shock was evident when she described accurately what you've been hiding from her.
You just joined her today after you calmed down and solved your problem of making convulsive and negative insights and possibilities of why a girl like Miyeon would never fall in love with you as you are.
This has been the issue why you couldn't find a friend easily. and preventing yourself from getting attached to somebody who marks everything that will win over your interest.
All of it was shattered by Miyeon, and I don't know what to do with this feeling. You had to compose yourself again so that you wouldn't make any slight mistakes that would reveal your admiration for Miyeon and make all of your worries manifest into reality.
"Even if I wouldn't know the reason I can see it through your eyes, YN." Miyeon said. "I told you before and it will remain similar. No matter how much you look down at yourself, it will be nothing to me. I will stay because I wanted to... and you needed it, YN. I've seen you improve and everybody around us could see it. I made myself to be your friend because it was a choice that I never regretted to do."
Miyeon holds your hand and locked it on her hold. Your heartbeat quickened at the touch and her appreciating look she's been giving at you.
"So please, don't regret yourself or me that we met, okay? Be happy and just be free like me, like the time and world is in our hands." Miyeon patted your hand and smiled sweetly.
You nodded and formed an upright curve in your lips in return. "I will."
Miyeon pulled you into a hug, pressing her head on your chest as you snuggled your chin on the crook of her neck. You let yourself be subdued by the warmth of her comforting embrace, and with your grateful prayers and wishes being sent above in heaven, you let a wonderful person like Miyeon enter your life.
That peaceful understanding and make-up that you two had brought back the liveliness and the effects of the dynamics that Miyeon has instilled in you
You proceeded to catch up those few days ago when you separated yourself from Miyeon just so you could get rid again of all these negativities and overthinking that you've been getting ever since that night when you felt different touching Miyeon's hand and how your perspective altered about her beauty.
Treating her to wherever she wants the both of you to try, going around to such places, and even tutoring her about some subjects that she's struggling with.
It was just like what you two always do together, and it was always nice. Something you can't ruin.
However, those good times didn't last much longer when both of you encountered another problem to take seriously, and this might have been the most frightened and anxious you've ever been for Miyeon.
Right as you exited the campus after the class ended, without having your best friend with you, you received a phone call from her mother.
You were notified by bad news that Miyeon was just sent to a hospital today, and she knows you will definitely be coming for her once you know, so she didn't waste more time to inform you.
That's exactly what you did. For the first time, you've never been this panicked after leaving the class. You hurriedly ran and traveled all the way into the hospital that was mentioned to you.
Searching for the rooms, you finally united with her mother, who was waiting outside.
"What happened to her?"
"YN...." Mrs. Cho squeezed your wrists as she cried. You just stared at her as you waited for the next words to come out. "I don't know what to do. I'm scared, I don't want to lose my daughter too."
"Why? Is Miyeon sick? What's her condition?" You asked frantically.
"She is. But I think it's better if you hear it from her and discuss it." Mrs. Cho said. Your chest felt tightened as your body goes weaker at hearing that information. It's been a prediction of yours that there's something wrong with Miyeon ever since she collapsed back in the enrollment day, but you didn't expect that this would've gone worse and that will have you to see her in such inappopriate place for you.
"She's currently resting after the doctors took a check up on her. She'll wake up soon." Mrs. Cho then urges you to go inside the room where she excused herself to buy some food on the convenience store.
As what she said, more than 10 minutes later Miyeon shortly woke up from the hospital bed. You saw her eyes blink carefully and you rushed to her side.
"Miyeon. Hey, buddy. I'm here." You said, placing your hand atop of her torso.
"Y-YN?" Miyeon called your name lamely. "You came..."
"Yeah ofcourse I do, I worried so much about you after your mom called me that you're confined." You kneeled beside her. "She told me that you were sick, Miyeon. Of what? May I know, please? Cause truly, I hate to see you being like this."
"So she already mentioned to you about it." Miyeon sighed and closed her eyes. "Alright, YN. I'll give you the answer. I don't have any more time left to hide this from you."
"What haven't you telling me yet?"
"I'm sorry, YN." Miyeon said, reaching for your hand which you grabbed it and locked it on your hold. "I'm sorry if I'm... going to make you sad."
"I don't care about it, Miyeon. It's just a part of our life. Happiness isn't the only mood that exists, we also go through dark times in our phase. And I believe it's better to be sad at something I know than assuming something that is not." you said to her.
Miyeon smiled at you. "You really are okay now..."
"I always think of you, that's why. It wouldn't be possible if it's not because of you, Miyeon. You inspire me to be better."
Miyeon's teardrop fell from her eye as she nodded. "I know, and you encourage me to fight for what's right. That's why I'm still trying to take care of myself on battling my heart condition."
Your whole senses felt like it zoomed away from your conscience as you intepreted the enormous state of shock that ever striked on you after learning what Miyeon just revealed to you.
"A what?"
"My heart... it isn't what you think, YN." Miyeon tightlipped. "Even my lifeline."
"W-what do you mean? Y-you... Miyeon, so this is..."
"I had it since I was born, YN. My father had it, and now you know why he wasn't around anymore with me and mom." You tilted away to avoid that truth. "I inherited his condition and it was passed through me YN and what happened to him, I can have it too. The doctors thought before that I won't be going to reach 20's... but it's a miracle that I'm still fine, yet again it happened to me again and now I'm thinking twice now if-"
"No, no. Miyeon, you say that your time is limited but like you said, look at you. You are 26 years old now. 6 years, you surpassed that supposed end of the line for you. That means, you can still handle it whenever it occurs, and you will be going to be fine in repeat." You said to her. "As long as you continue living, all you have to do is to enjoy the rest of it."
"About that, I was reminded of something that I can share to you too." Miyeon smiled at the recall while looking softly at you. "I knew I had to do it, when I learnt that it's bad for me to apply pressure on myself, I always remind myself to be joyful and calm. Until I saw you..."
Miyeon rubbed her hand on top of yours, soothing you. "Lonely, gloomy, bland. You were the opposite of me, and I hated to see the very thing that I am preventing myself to be at. Do you know the other reason why I became so interested to meet you, YN?
It's because you helped me realize how can I use my happiness and the remaining time I have with a purpose. That's why I pushed myself to become your friend, YN. I want to accomplish one last thing in my life, and that is to make you happy just as I did to myself.
So please, promise me. Once I'm gone, continue to put smile on other's faces, but don't ever forget about sparing one for yourself, YN. For now... stay, and continue to show me how I've changed you."
You shed your tears that you couldn't contains fron the emotions forcing to escape inside of you. It sucks so hard that you reached the point and such unlikeable scenario that you have to witness and listen to your friend sending her final wishes to you just in case her suffering conquers her.
"Can it still be saved through a surgery?"
"I think so. They did it on my dad, before... but I don't know if it will be successful on me unlike him." She shrugged.
"We don't quite sure, then." You understood. Miyeon wiped your tears with her hands, you curled it and laid your head on her knuckles. "It still doesn't matter to me. I'll never leave, Miyeon. I'll be here to support you anytime. That's what.... friends are for, right?"
You took a pause before saying the word. You've been wanting to improve more than that, but you had to remain cautious.
Both grinned at each other. You joined Miyeon to rest again until Mrs. Cho arrived back at the room with the packed foods in her hands.
A few days ago, you received news from her mother that she agreed with their relatives to bring Miyeon to the States to undergo her surgery after the recommendation that it was the perfect place with complete equipment to perform the surgery successfully and attain a higher chance of survival for Miyeon.
Although it's saddening that you won't be able to see Miyeon for how long it has to be, you just reminded to yourself that you don't have to be selfish and her health is the number one priority here. It was always been the important part after all this time, and it was so relieving that you were able to help her along despite without your knowledge, which was pretty impressive to realize.
You are now at the airport with your family, joining Miyeon and her family on their departure so that you both can say goodbye properly to each other.
You and Miyeon faced at each other. "I'm going to miss you, YN."
"Me too, Miyeon. Good luck on the surgery, okay? I'll be here waiting for you to come back."
"I am, and you will me better than ever before." Miyeon smiled.
"You should be, because I have a gift for you when you return."
"What could it be? You're making me excited already, YN!"
"It's unique, that's all I can say." You chuckled. Miyeon invites you to a hug and you reciprocated it.
"Goodbye for now, Miyeon-ah. You can do it, okay? Fighting!"
"HAHAHAHA, I'll fight for you, YN."
As she lets go from the embrace, you were dumbfounded when Miyeon performed a quick peck of a kiss to your cheek. Your chest throbs rapidly, mood blooms and ou felt more alive than ever today because of that heartfelt gesture.
"Goodbye, YN! I won't be away for long!"
She waves her hand at you while her mother nods also. Joining your parents, you watched them slowly disappear from your sights as your hopes grew stronger and bigger that she could endure and overcome this challenge she's currently facing personally.
A few weeks later, you were inserting your things into your locker while your classmates Yeonjun and Soobin narrated to you the entire plot of the new game they just bought.
They invited you to join them after you went to the mall to check out the new collectibles and arcade shop that is scheduled to open tomorrow, and you didn't hesitate to agree since you would also be craving to see it on your own.
While you three are conversing, you felt your phone vibrate. Upon checking, it was a phone call coming from your mother.
You answered it right away, excusing yourself to your classmates for a moment and they immediately understood.
"Hello, mom?"
You furrowed your eyebrows when you heard her shuddering breaths.
"Mom?"
"Y-YN..."
"Yes, mom. I'm here. Why did you call?"
"I'm sorry, honey." Her mother was stiffling a sob. "Listen to me first, okay? Don't engage once you hear it-"
"Mom, please. What is it? I'm getting nervous right now. Why are you being like this?" You said anxiously, your breathing starts to go heavy.
"It's about Miyeon, YN." Your mother said. Your fingers went stiff from grasping the phone. "Her mother called me few minutes ago and she told me that... Miyeon's gone."
Everything went blurry, awfully quiet and unresponsive to you as you suddenly crashed in the ground, slipping at the locker door on your back, dropping the phone in your hand. Your classmates and other students around the hallway were startled at what happened to you.
"Hey, YN? Yo, dude what happened?"
"YN, what's wrong man?"
Yeonjun and Soobin were taken aback when you punched the floor and screamed in agony as you let out the hardest cry you've ever released.
As you went home, you were greeted by a comforting hug from your mother as you let yourself weaken and pour out all the pain that you've felt.
That wasn't even the worst part, as you learned next from your mother the additional details of Miyeon's sudden death. She told you that Miyeon, Mrs. Cho, and her aunt were on their way to the hospital when they got involved in a car accident caused by a drunk driver operating a truck.
Mrs. Cho and the aunt suffered injuries, but the large impact of the crash brought a shock to Miyeon that was unable for her enlargening heart to sustain, causing it to fail in functioning and pronounce it her cause of death just now.
A week later at Miyeon's burial, as you just stared brokenheartedly at her newly created grave, her mother approached to you.
"She gave this to me while we're staying at the hotel. Miyeon told me that if ever something bad happens to her, she wants to me to give this you." Mrs. Cho who is more devastated then you, losing both her husband and her only daughter with the same complication, said as she hands you a white envelope.
You reached it from her and slowly opened it. It was a handwritten letter made by her. You read the contents of it silently.
Dear YN,
Hey there, my number one buddy! I know I've said to you that I'll come back once this is all over, but still I have made a back up once the unfortunate has come to get me during this battle that I'm having with my vulnerable heart, and if you're reading this right now... I don't want to mention but I have to be clear. This only means that I failed you. I'm gone forever and I won't be back anymore, but whatever happens; it won't stop me for saying what I want to say all dedicated to my one true bestfriend, which is you.
Thank you so much that even though my proposal of my friendship to you was forceful and a bit threatening, you still gave it an attempt. Look at where we are now, I told you that I would be real for you, and you did the same for me. I think that's the reason why our bond became stronger, because we discovered our flaws with each other and we helped each other to change all of that. As I said, all I want to for you to be better. And you were always a great guy in my eyes, YN. It's a no shocker that I fell in love with you. Tadaaa, now you know my secret. Well, that's one of the reasons why I made this letter, so that I could tell you what I actually feel for you once I couldn't come back and unable to say this to you in person.
I like you a lot, YN. And I know you do. It's so obvious of you, you know? I find it funny and impressive how you still manage to endure all of that by showing this tough shell of yours. But I get it, I know there' a reason. You're just scared as me. That's why I couldn't confess to you earlier because I know you deserve better. And probably your own reason is that this boundaries and insecuries of yours are still present, maybe that's why you couldn't even face me because you're looking lowly of yourself while believing that you've already fallen for me. It's interesting right? We both share the same thought that we both deserve better. But anyway, I don't mind it. I still have this precious thing and that is called friendship, atleast... with this I could still prove and show to you how I love you with all my heart that will remain stuck on you.
Before I end this letter, I just want you to do me one last favor, YN. Please visit her grave anytime you want and never forget me. That way, I could take it as an alternate way to see you from above that you love me too.
Until we see each other again, buddy.
Love, Miyeon
You broke down in tears as you fell into the grassy land, just below her grave, filled with a mixture of bittersweet emotions, being delighted, grateful, and touched by her kind and heartwarming remarks about this whole awesome journey you two had been on, while on the other side, there's the guilt, grief, and torment that you didn't get to confess your true feelings to his only best friend and admirer before it was too late, unlike she did.
10 YEARS LATER
You are now currently working as an IT technician in one of the largest programming companies in South Korea.
You may be mostly busy in your professional life, but you still tried your best to allow and reserve free time to connect with your loved ones: your parents, your grandma, your friends Yeonjun and Soobin who now works as game developers, while Soyeon and Yuqi are now one of the most famous performers in SK, Mrs. Cho and her relatives and most importantly: her.
You always visit Miyeon's grave whenever you wanted to, just like her final request which you remember every single day.
Today is her birthday, you went to her grave last after all of her loved ones visited her earlier.
You looked down on her grave, the expensive tombstone standing on it with a lovely picture of her back in college placed on a frame.
CHO MIYEON Gone but never forgotten as she remains alive within our hearts forever.
January 31, 1997 - July 25, 2023
You placed the birthday cake and some balloons that you're bringing with you beside her tombstone.
"Happy birthday, Miyeon." You greeted her before lighting up the candles.
"10 years and counting now, huh. But I'm still here just like you asked me too. I stayed, and I'm still waiting patiently for my time to come where I can see you again someday." You said, your nose gets stingy as your eyes starts to become watery.
"Thank you for existing and having the pleasure to meet you, where you taught me how is it like to have a true friend... and to fall in love with you. It was all once in my imaginations, so thank you... for bringing it all to reality, even though... it didn't last longer as we expect to be."
You recalled all of the memories that you had with her, but what struck you the most was the necklace you're wearing.
You opened the locket, revealing that it was your fake wedding couple photo with her back in college, which was actually her last gift to you along with the letter she wrote from you inside the envelope given to you by Mrs. Cho 10 years ago. It's such a wasted wish that you won't be able to recreate this moment with her. If she ever did come back, you would've shown her the gift of your love for her, given her a chance to be your girlfriend, proposed to her, and married her without any pretend. Miyeon would be such a lovely wife to have, for sure.
As you looked at her appearance, you also remembered that time back at the mall where she slept on your shoulder. The picture she had on her wallpaper at that time was also the one you're using now.
It brought you back to your very first hug with her. Your eyes sprung up, and the familiarization hit you as you compared it to the same scenario you dreamt before, and up until now, it still is.
But what's even better now is that you can see the girl's face now. and it felt even more realistic than before. Same structure, same pinkish hair, same colorful dress.
Your eyes swelled before they broke down into tears, lowering your head as you cried in your palms.
It went on for minutes until you calmed down and ate the cake for her while watching your recorded moments with her on your phone.
You were so invested in all of those happy memories you were revisiting that you didn't notice a stranger peeking at you from behind.
"Awww your girl is so beautiful, dear." The old lady says with a soft smile. You looked above to see her figure.
"Thank you." You bowed your head.
"So that's her name?" She said as she reads Miyeon's tombstone.
"Yes, she's Miyeon." You politely answered.
She hummed and frowned. "It's unfortunate that she passed away too soon. She looks so young." You smiled through the pain as you wiped your tears. "We're just the same, I visited my late husband today on our wedding anniversary." She pointed at the direction where it is located.
"That's sweet grandma." "Are you okay now, dear? I know it hurts a lot to lose somebody we love, but trust me, it won't make us feel better if we don't practice how to let go." You nodded while trying to end your cries as the old lady is now caressing your arm to console you. "I am. I've already accepted her fate."
"You surely must have miss her so much, don't you? I bet you think about her anytime."
You looked at Miyeon's picture and smiled with pure confidence. "Yes, I do. She is and always will be on my mind... because Miyeon is the woman of my dreams."
i don't think anyone outside of this fandom will ever understand what this game has done for me
i was eleven years old lying in my bed with my ipad mini and a pair of earbuds. it was around midnight, way past my bedtime at that age.
i scrolled through my youtube home page and came across a video titled something along the lines of "I CAN TIME TRAVEL???" and started watching.
the gameplay opened with the scene of a girl staring at a massive tornado. and then she woke up in photography class. and then she figured out she could rewind time.
and i was hooked.
then came the bathroom scene. the moment nathan shot chloe, i exited youtube. i was too shocked and stunned to continue. so i put my ipad away and tried to go to bed.
that lasted for less than five minutes.
too curious as to what would happen next, i grabbed my ipad and found the video again.
once i was past the initial shock of what had happened, i found myself falling in love with the art style. i fell in love with the music. i fell in love with the concept, the characters, the universe.
i remember thinking chloe was so cool. i remember wishing i could have a clothing style just like hers.
i remember wishing i had a place like the junkyard where i could escape to.
and i remember relating to max. she's artistic and shy. just like i was.
just like i am.
and then i finished watching episode one. i had to wait two months to see what would happen in episode two. and whenever a new episode did come out, it was always the first thing i watched when i came home from school.
it was like i saw myself in the characters.
kate's rooftop scene broke me. and in coming years, i would relate to her depression far more than i ever realized i would at eleven years old.
chloe's anger stunned me. i didn't realize why i felt so connected to the intensity of it then, but knowing what i was to experience in my teenage years, it now makes sense.
max's sensitivity made me feel so seen. and she was just as creative as i wished to be. i bought an analog camera when i was fifteen just because i wanted to take polaroids like her.
i wanted to be in the world of life is strange. i wanted to experience true friendship (and more) like what max and chloe had because up until then, i felt so alone.
this game made me feel understood. this game made me feel like i could make my life an adventure. this game gave me hope for the future.
i finally played the game myself when i was thirteen. it was the second game ever in my steam account.
but throughout high school, i forgot about the game for a bit, only getting re-obsessed for a short while when before the storm came out. i finally played life is strange 2 in the summer of 2020, when i rediscovered life is strange during covid lockdown. and then came true colors. i played that one the day it got released.
even though the new games are amazing, and the characters' relatability is just as strong, the original life is strange will forever hold a special place in my heart. in a way, it formed who i am as a person today. just ask anyone who was in my life when i started saying "hella" in every sentence.
a few days after i turned eighteen, i realized "i am the age of the characters in life is strange."
and that was crazy to me.
i had grown up with these characters, wondering if my life would ever be as interesting or as venturesome as theirs. and now i was the same age as them.
and then i became older than them. and my life has most definitely not been the adventure i'd hoped for.
but i've come to accept this, as max and chloe are video game characters, and i live in the real world.
but that's why i hold the first life is strange game in such a special place in my heart. these characters were there for me when real people weren't.
this game taught me the difference in morals and beliefs, because what one person thinks is wrong might be right to someone else. this game taught me to be kind to others, to show compassion and empathy, because you never know what someone is going through.
this game taught me not to be afraid to love.
because if i were to be chloe, then someday my max would make a return.
*points at you* hoi :3
I've seen you talk bout a lotta things but nit Mario rpg so far! What makes it interesting to ya? What do ya enjoy about it? :3c
I’m so sorry for the very very long post you’re about to read.
This franchise has been everything to me ever since I first discovered it as a kid, to the point where I have most definitely obsessed over it for.. literally years at a time.
Full post under the cut due to length.
So! I’d known about these games since I was.. I want to say eight years old. I was obsessed with Mario ever since I had gotten my first console, the DSI, when I was six. I discovered the M&L series from YouTube, after begging my mom to let me watch videos there. From that point on, I discovered the game’s soundtracks, gameplay videos, etc. I’d watch them for hours on end, over and over. I was utterly hooked. Having Mario games with these cool new locations? New villains? The music that I could listen to for hours and hours on end?? An actual story? It was the best thing ever! A short time after discovering them, I discovered Mario roleplaying games on Roblox, which only fueled my love for the idea and games. Eventually I got my very first M&L game, Dream Team, on the year of release! I played it obsessively. Every day, every night, for hours and hours and hours. It never bored me. The characters had me fascinated, the humor made me giggle, just everything about the game was perfect to capture my mind, who already was obsessed with storytelling at the time. The bros themselves were the best part at first, thanks to me adoring their dynamic. I loved the games properly exploring their brotherly relationship, and how much they cared for eachother. It seeped into a lot of the stories that I’d written for them, and I couldn’t get enough of it. Really for the longest time the best part of the games to me was the bros. Though that didn’t last too long. At the age of fourteen, I’d gotten my hands on the Superstar Saga remake! After begging my parents to buy me the rest of the games, SSS was the very last game I needed to complete my collection.
This game
This game was my downfall.
If my obsession wasn’t bad before, this game started the true obsession. The environment, the characters, the music, the story, I loved it. Peasley was my favorite character out of the bunch, and he still is, of course. I never payed much attention to him until I saw the Royal brat in action. Yeahhh. Yeah. He had my heart. Smug, valiant, he somehow hit every mark for little ol me. That was the start of it all. From that point onwards, at the age of fifteen specifically, I started making a buttload of headcanons, lore to fill in the gaps, and finally, ocs. A lot of ocs. It turned into its own big ol story! It’s been now.. seven years of me doing this!! A lot’s happened, and I’ve grown a lot! Those stories have grown with me, and it’s honestly the thing I’ve poured most my heart into. It’s aged like milk, because yes, stories created when you were fifteen or sixteen aren’t gonna be the equivalent of picasso, but I still adore it and love it to bits. It’s my baby, I’ll die for that baby. It’s.. quite literally my own little love letter to the franchise and how much it’s shaped my life. My writing wouldn’t be the same without it, and neither would anything else. This franchise is a part of me, and always will be. With Brothership releasing soon, I can only see my little obsession growing.
The writing is so charming and goofy, and I have to thank the games for influencing me so much in that regard. They always make me laugh or smile, or feel so much. The animations add onto all of that, and make the game feel so… alive! The stories have always been so unique and fun, giving me years of thoughts and smiles, and the characters have always made me the happiest person alive.
M&L is my favorite franchise. It always will be. I’m so happy that I was able to discover it, and have so much of it shape my life. I wouldn’t be who I am today without it!
But, you wanted to hear why I liked M&L, so here you go! I think my favorite games in order tho have to be…
Superstar Saga, Dream Team, Bowser’s Inside Story, Partners in Time, and Paper Jam. I’ll see where brothership places when it releases!
I need to post my Mario stuff more, and maybe I’ll get to talk about all my silly things more often. If you’ve been my friend for any time at all, you know how much this franchise means to me. It’s.. a several hour long conversation, which a lot of them have had the misfortune of hearing.
Trust me, over 80 ocs and over a decade of obsessing over one little franchise does something to a girl.
Hope you enjoyed this read though, I’m glad to be able to share it with everyone!
#cawllingcards#im so sorry this post is so long#it’s almost like this franchise is my favorite or something.
In the modern au I think it would be funny if both zote and hornet were gaming live streamers, where zote was absolutely terrible but people watched him because it's very unintentionally funny how confident he is compared to his skill level.
Whereas hornet is amazing at the games she plays but she has so much gamer rage that she keeps getting banned for toxicity in increasingly funny ways.
100% canon. I fully believe they would both be gamers, and whether they would be streamers depends on how modern exactly is the modern AU. I personally put it somewhere in the earlier 2000s, but since it's a side AU I suppose that doesn't matter that much.
Zote would do gaming streams, but I also think he would react to videos sent by his viewers. And his reactions would be the funniest thing ever, he'd be completely dumbfounded by the most obvious things and make himself look like a fool. It would be incredibly entertaining.
Hornet would most certainly be the sweaty tryhard gamer who rages easily. She is very good at the games, so watching her would be entertaining on its own, but the rage is what makes it especially amusing. So exactly like what you described, you got it perfectly. I imagine she would play a lot of competitive online games, and would maybe offer some tips for her audience. But the rage moments is what would make her especially memorable.
Honestly, I might as well talk about the rest of the cast in this kind of setting while I'm at it.
Grimm would be incredibly good at games so that would be a big draw for his streams, but due to his type of humor I think his audience would be quite cursed to any outsider. Lots of suggestive running jokes (just earlier today I watched a random gameplay video and saw someone with a running joke where they comment "edging until [channel name] plays FNAF4" under each upload, and this is exactly the type of audience I imagine Grimm would have) and constant banter between his and his audience. Probably quite a few viewers simping for him too. Just pure chaos. One he very much enjoys.
FPK probably wouldn't play video games, he would instead stream about his latest inventions. Something like PC building streams as well, and if he's joined by Grimm or Hornet it would be extra entertaining. Though his audience would probably be the most genuine out of all of them, aside from maybe Holly. You'd have to be a nerd with very particular interests and a lot of patience to enjoy his slow paced streams about his work. And he would enjoy interacting with an audience like that, I like to think he would often stop what he's doing to respond to messages in the chat, and probably ramble quite a lot if it's something he's passionate about.
Speaking of Holly, they would be the chill vibes streamer, they'd play games like Stardew Valley. Obviously without commentary, but I think they'd find themselves a comfortable place in the "chill comfy stream" niche. Very wholesome stuff, and an incredibly chill audience.
The kids are of course too young to have their own streaming channels, but they'd often show up in the others' streams. Well, aside from Zote and Hornet. They wouldn't want any kids interrupting their streams.
asuka ask game? pick your favorite one
ok so i do enjoy asuka guiltygear but i have been thinking REALLY hard about asuka tekken as of late so we're talking about her today
also this took me WAY too long to post i apologize but it Is out here so yaaaay
favorite thing about them:
ok so legally i have to mention asuka's tekken 8 design because motherfucker WHAT were they thinking with that one. what the fuck was the inspiration. but i love it so much i cannot lie
other than that, i really enjoy her rivalry with lili and how moderately insane that bit has gotten, and i like how they've kept her a character who is a) defensively focused in her gameplay even among the generally aggressive play of t8, and b) has a generally down-to-earth feel to her despite. Everything. happening in tekken
least favorite thing about them:
so i was actually talking to a friend about this recently and she explained my feelings really well, its like. asuka feels like the protagonist of another story that isnt being told.
it feels like she has so much stuff that COULD be a really interesting plot focus for her but it just. hasnt been? like everything between her and feng COULD be so neat but its just been sort of...by the wayside for the past few games in favor of keeping up with the mishimas (new sitcom there btw)
favorite line:
asuka's quotes are fun but most arent super noteworthy unfortunately? its mostly pretty standard fare for fighting game open and win quotes unforch :( i will say though, i do really enjoy this win line in t8 from her:
It's not good to fight all the time. Well, see ya!
bc like. girl. what do you think youre out here doing rn. girl please
(note: i dont speak japanese so i couldnt say anything towards this, but i wonder if asuka speaks with a kansai accent/dialect in game? her being from osaka and all, itd be a cool little addition)
brOTP:
omg actually ive seen stuff between leo and asuka that's been fun before i really enjoy that, iirc theyre not super close in the main canon but i wanna say in the non-canon webcomic theyre friends? i think thats right? either way its a fun concept
OTP:
asulili...uwoagh........
fellas is it gay to buy your rival's dojo and fill it entirely with roses to get their attention? certainly not. certainly.
i do wish we saw some amount more narrative tension between them since most of it has sort of dissolved by t8 but i do think theyre really cute and as mentioned before i really do enjoy their whole bit its awesome
SHOUTOUT ASULILI WEEK BTW I DONT HAVE THE TIME TO PARTICIPATE BUT I AM HYPED ABOUT ITS EXISTENCE
nOTP:
i do not think i have been around long enough to see another pairing for asuka, let alone one i dislike, so i cannot answer this question LMAO
random headcanon:
spun my mental wheel of headcanon topics and it wouldnt stop spinning for like half an hour unfortunately so im just telling you that i think asuka would play baiken or may in strive
unpopular opinion:
i still havent been here long enough to know whats unpopular regarding her :,) although i think in terms of gameplay i think she's cooler than most people believe, though i do agree that her current iteraiton in t8 isnt very strong within the meta unforch :(
song i associate with them:
i can nigh on guarantee that it's because ive been listening to this song while thinking about her really hard recently but absolute zero by natori (banger btw go watch the music video it goes unbelievably hard), i think the lyrics arent entirely unfitting though!!!
favorite picture of them:
i really like this profile art option for her, the posing is fun and the textures on the clothing are really impressive
and then also i have to mention her preset 3 outfit which i LOVE SO SO MUCH
(apologies as i cant find a better example pic and do not feel like opening t8 at 2 in the morning on this day)
#ask#ask game#electricgnu#tekken#asuka kazama#your honor i think shes neat...#ive been scrolling through her wiki page as of late
I still plan to my biannual HKtober prompts and like I mentioned last year, I'll make the prompts weekly this year instead of daily!
I don't know much I'll be able to do these personally BUT have the discord copy pasted message where I explain what these prompts could look like. I'll make an official post with more clarification maybe so if something feels unclear, odd or you if you have suggestions to improve prompts like this let me know!
Notice that the prompts can be applied for any art format so it's not just drawing! You can type about them like answering questions or even write a short story or make a video of the experience etc. YOU get to choose what moment within (or broadly around) the prompts you want to work with and how! I want these to be as open as possible (which I understand can be detrimental but it relies on your experience you remember within the game so it's still prompting something?)
Anyways
:
Since they will be weekly prompts, I can choose something broad and the general idea is for prompts to cover the span of the gameplay sort of. I think I need five prompts if it's gonna be one per week? So they could be something like
1. (Avg 30th- Oct 6th) The Beginning: First impression? A moment that made you feel like this will be a fun game? Something you saw or heard that made you start the game? A moment at the start that really drew you in? Dirtmouth.
2. (Oct 7th- Oct 13th) Finding your way: Moment you got lost? An area or a place of an area that you favor? Some place you like you revisit? Backtracking? Maps and Conifer
3. (Oct 14th- Oct 20th) The struggles/hurdles: Hardest moment in the game? What part made you feel super victorious for overcoming it or made you feel clever or cool or lucky? Parts that felt like you'll never get through or haven't enjoyed as much or didn't have fun with at all? Bosses or platforming
4. (Oct 21st- Oct 27th)The favorite bit: Kind of self explanatory lol. Any moment or a character that left a huge impression? Favorite music or art of the game? A concept or thought that stayed on your mind the longest or still thinking about today? Something you didn't expect but surprised you in a good way? Overall impression of the game?
5. (Oct 28th- Nov 3rd) Free space/Something small you put love into: Any dialogue or items or designs that you adore? A theory that is either canon or not that you enjoy a lot? Something you like the fans added to the experience (characters, ideas, worldbuilding, mods etc.)? A special thank you to someone for getting you into hollow knight or is keep having fun with you even years later? Mr Mushroom theories lol
NOTE: these might be edited by the time I post an official prompt post!
1 and 13 for the Soulsborne ask game, though I''m gonna modify 13 and ask you to name a choice of location from each DeS, DS1, DS2, and DS3 and THEN pick which of the four would be your ultimate choice
(Also, congrats on reaching the Ringed City DLC!! I love the Lapp questline so much ahhh)
I do love me some specific asks. Also, thank you! Hopefully the bosses of that DLC don't make me pull my hair out (though thankfully for me I'm not a stubborn gamer bro and will resort to summons if the situation calls for it 😉)
1: Which game got you into Soulsborne?
An equal combination of Dark Souls 1 and Demon's Souls.
For DS1's case I was basically right there when the game first launched and shocked gamers everywhere with how unexpectedly difficult it was (that is, for the majority of people who didn't even know DeS existed). Hell I even remember the first review of the game I saw from a channel I used to watch back in the day, which has now become absolutely hilarious to me with how wonderfully dated it is.
While I did have a PS3 I didn't have the money to just buy any new game willy nilly and was generally more interested in playing older titles at that point, so I didn't buy the game yet. I did satiate my curiosity by watching gameplay footage of the boss fights and eventually some of Vaati's lore explanation videos when those started getting recommended to me. However, among the DS1 lore videos he made I managed to find some lore videos talking about a game called Demon's Souls, which interested me just as much due to its equally grim atmosphere and dream-like vibes, and once I found Matthewmattosis's DeS commentary video I was officially hooked on casually watching both of these games from afar.
I would then forget about the games for a while, still looking into DS2, Bloodborne, and DS3 when they came out for curiosity's sake, until in 2023 I finally found used copies of DS1 and (later) DeS and I at long last got to play these two masterpieces for the first time and truly fall in love with them <3
13: If you could live in any Soulsborne location, where would it be?
For the sake of not giving the easiest answers, I'll name areas that AREN'T the central hubs of each game!
DeS: The kingdom of Latria seemed like the coolest place to live before the demons came and ruined everything, what with all the wealth and sorcery and, most importantly, Old Spice ;-)
DS1: Oolacile I imagine was objectively the best place a mortal human could living in Lordran, considering Anor Londo was a city for the Gods (thus humans were objectively treated like second-class citizens there) and literally everywhere else was riddled with crime, poverty, and/or repulsive diseases.
DS2: Definitely the Dragon Shrine! Gorgeous view AND getting to live alongside dragons with like-minded scalies 🐉💛
DS3: Farron Woods in general. I'm an anthro lover, so even post-poison swampification I'd be surrounded by both furries AND featheries to befriend/go hollow with <3
Out of all of them I would realistically do the best in Oolacile, so I'll pick that country as the winner today ✨✨✨
chiaki, thoughts on concord?
Okay, now this is a real tragedy, because Concord is symbolic of just how difficult it is to be a gamer in this day and age.
2024 has been a year full of disappointments. Most recently, the $15 million budgeted Borderlands movie made only $18.5 million at the box office. Considering that doesn't even pay for the marketing expenses, it's a catastrophe.
Undoubtedly, it's a bad film, but in the realm of video games, we currently have a failure named "Concord." And it's surprising to me that people even remember this game, despite it's recency.
Now, for the record, what I'm about to say is something that makes me genuinely sad. Like...ACTUALLY really sad. So...bear with me.
For those who are unaware, Concord was a generic hero shooter that was released less than 30 days ago, similar to Overwatch or Valorant. Except it had a five-times slower pace, it combined all the worst aspects of earlier hero shooters. The game's movement was really slow; it felt like you're playing on a treadmill. The gameplay was excruciatingly slow and annoying; it seemed as though you're trapped in a slow-motion Zack Snyder movie.
The game was really generic, but it was neither terrible nor unplayable. But at the same time it wasn't really unique, and if someone enjoys this genre of game, there are at least fifty more that are superior. The fact that Concord costed $40 rather than being free to play, like the majority of other multiplayer shooters, is what made it especially foolish. It was destined to fail from the beginning, and today it only managed to launch with a little over 650 users on Steam.
To put that in context, more people played some of the worst failures in gaming history when they first launched. Redfall and even Babylon's Fall, which was such a failure that it was removed from Steam, had more players than Concord had. Compared to Lord of the Rings: Gollum, another huge failure that forced its studio to close, Concord had only a little bit more players.
Now, you must have noticed by now that I've been talking about this game in the past tense, and there's a reason for that. Concord was such a massive failure, that the servers were shut down two weeks after its launch, with all sold copies being refunded. That is a HUGE FAIL.
Concord was a big-budget game that must have cost millions to produce, but nobody wanted to play it. Although I don't personally have strong feelings on the matter, I do find it puzzling how these games are approved in the first place. Everyone sighed in agreement when they saw the first trailer, which made it obvious that this was another hero shooter in an already crowded industry. It's difficult to determine who this game is intended for, especially considering that even fans of hero shooters won't rush into a $40 game when there are more enjoyable free options, like Fortnite, or Overwatch 2.
It's unbelievable that this disaster was released considering how predictable it was. Even then, it didn't make sense to invest in a game that is sure to fail, even if it appeared to be a desperate attempt to recover part of the production costs. It's unfortunate since I have no doubt that brilliant developers worked on this out of necessity rather than choice. Seemingly, they attempted to make another hero shooter, believing it would be a simple victory, but they didn't realize that no one wants to see more of them, especially not for forty bucks.
I HATE being negative. I hate being negative more than I hate anything else in the world. But this is a flop that's hard not to laugh at, which is why I wanted to talk about it. I don't see why anyone would pay such a high price for this when there are better free options available, despite the fact that it has largely great reviews.
Considering how poorly Concord performed, especially for a high-budget game, is astounding. The majority of games, including the most popular ones, never start with fewer than a thousand players. I felt compelled to address this as it's uncommon for a game to fail so miserably.
