@gyuwoncheol tagging her bcs she helped me to her own demise
Tumblr media
"Babe?"
"Yes darling?"
"You have a new notification!" Seungcheol yells from the other end of the living room.
"I'll check it later, thanks!" You yell back, trying to make yourself heard through the noise of the kitchen mixer.
Seungcheol is a man who values your privacy and would never attempt the petty snooping around on your phone.
But how could he miss the bright notification of your cycle tracking app saying that you're ovulating?
He turns his head to your direction and looks at the shape of your body standing in front of the counter and his mind races at the thought of you bearing his kids and having them run around your legs in the future.
And it makes him want to fuck you until he has made sure you're pregnant.
He gets up from the couch and walks up behind you, snaking his arms around your waist and resting his chin on your shoulder.
"You sure love back hugs, don't you?" You let out a small laugh.
"How can I not when I have such a pretty wife?" He hums.
"Oh, I see how it is." You turn off the mixer and turn around to face him. "Come on, out with it, big guy."
"What? Can't I just compliment my wife because I feel like it?" He pouts his lips.
"Seungcheol, you never compliment me without any reason."
"I was just thinking...."
"I knew it."
"I haven't even said anything yet!" He complains.
"Oh my God, just say it!"
"I was thinking how pretty you'd look with a belly full of our kids."
Your eyes widen with shock at your husband's blunt words. It's true that you've discussed the possibility of widening your family with Seungcheol and you know he would be the most silly and doting dad ever. But the way he looks at you and his hands tighten on your body makes you feel a tad bit jittery (in a very good way).
"Did you just think of that, or...?"
"Your tracking app said you're ovulating and I can't get it out of my damn head." Seungcheol groans.
"You checked my phone?!"
"I didn't unlock it! It was right beside me and I just saw the pop-up on the screen!"
"And that made you worked up already?" You deadpan.
"God, you have no idea." He drops his head on your shoulder and rolls his hips against you.
"You're incorrigible." You hug him with a light chuckle.
You feel his lips stretching in a grin and he throws you over his shoulder with one swift motion, carrying you to the bedroom. You complain all the way, but he just slaps your ass and puts you down on the mattress, your legs hanging from the edge of the bed.
"I am indeed incorrigible, darling." Seungcheol strips himself down to bare skin and purposefully climbs over you to grab a pillow and place it under your lower back.
"I'll do everything in my power," he hooks his fingers in the hem of your sweats and drags them away from your legs, "to get your pretty pussy," he removes your cotton panties to reveal your cunt, "full of my cum until you physically can't take more inside you."
"C-Cheol-" You watch your husband kneel on the foot of the bed, ready to use his tongue on you.
"Talk to me, darling. Tell me what you want."
"Fuck, I want your kids so bad." You moan and spread your legs, putting your hands under your knees to pull them on your sides.
"That's what I thought too." He smirks and leans down to press a kiss on your clit, followed by full-bodied swipes of his wet muscle from your puffy bud of nerves to your hole, waiting for your pussy to drip just enough to get messy.
"You're so perfect, you know that?" He brings your legs on your chest and puts your ankles on his shoulders, the head of his cock dragging over your pussy. "Perfect wife, with a perfect pussy." He whispers and slides his shaft inside you, stealing your moans with his mouth.
You let yourself get lost in the feeling of his pillowy lips, all while his cock is battering up your cunt. Your leg muscles tense up from being stretched out to their limits, but you don't want to switch up positions.
"Sweet, sweet fucking cunt, all ready to keep my cum safe." Seungcheol groans wildly on your lips, "Want to make you a mommy so bad."
"Fuck, I want you to be a daddy, Cheol, ah!" You throw your head back on the bed, watching your husband plow his hips in you relentlessly, his bottom lip caught between his pearly whites.
"W-Want a pretty little girl, w-with your eyes and lips, wanna treat her like a princess."
"And a rowdy little b-boy, so you c-can play g-games with him." You stammer over your words, but you get the message across.
"Fuck, I love you so much, darling." Seungcheol moans airily and plants his hands beside your head, rutting in you like a madman, sweat dripping down his body and a few drops landing on your chest.
"Cheol, I'm c-close." You sob.
"Me too, baby. Just a little more, please." He begs you to hold out.
You do as he says and you cum undone underneath him, his thick cock pulsing until he has emptied himself inside your cunt, not daring to pull away from you.
A few seconds of silence pass and none of you has moved yet. Your pussy clenches around his cock ever so slightly and you whimper, your legs falling limp on the bed.
"Even your pussy wants more, babe." Seungcheol chuckles and moves his cock inside you, bringing himself back to full hardness.
"You mean you've got more to give?" You pant.
"For you? Always."

hi again — ni.k
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
pairing : ni-ki x f!reader
song rec : so special - citizen queen
want to see pt1? see you again or pt3? together again
You started the music again as you concentrated on getting this one move right. In a few weeks your group NewJeans was going to have their 2nd comeback. So a few months ago you all started practicing the dance and the song but for some weird reason you couldn’t get the moves down. So after all your members left you stayed saying you would only be there for a few more hours.
That was at 4pm it’s now 9, and here you were still practicing and not understanding why you couldn’t match the beat and why on multiple moves you would constantly mess up. Mean while just outside your groups practice room Ni-ki was smiling to himself. He just found it so adorably cute how your eyes furrowed everytime you messed up. But he wasn’t that happy you were struggling so he decided to help.
“ Your moving your leg the wrong way “. No-ki said as you jolted at his presence. He chuckled as started the music again and did the move the correct way. Your mouth made an O shape as No-ki held back a smile. But soon your face turned into worry.
“ How did you know that! No one’s supposed to know anything about our comeback! “
“ I watched your practice.. and I won’t tell if you don’t “. You crossed your arms as Ni-ki held out his pinky. You hooked yours with him as Ni-ki smiled.
“ I can help you with your dance I think I get how it’s supposed to be “. You reluctantly nodded as Ni-ki started the music again and guided you to the right steps. Ni-ki yelled stop as he ran up to you and tilted your head. You started to blush as he started the music again and you continued to dance.
“ I think you got it now “. Ni-ki said as your face beamed with happiness as he started to smile too. He turned the music on again and danced next to you. You both were basically in sync with each other. As the music stopped and you both did too Ni-ki asked.
“ Do you want to go to the cafe for a second.. on me! “. You smiled as you got your stuff and Ni-ki hurriedly followed you as you both walked to hybe’s 24 hour cafe.
“ Thank’s for helping me! “. You said Ni-ki smiled down at you immediately looked at the flower as Ni-ki’s smile only grew bigger.
“ It’s no problem! “. Ni-ki said as you stopped dead in your tracks, Ni-ki looked back at you as your eyes grew big.
“ YOU HAD A COMEBACK! Oh I’m so sorry I should have said congrats!! “. Ni-ki chuckled as you threw a bunch of compliments at him some that were in English too.
“ It’s fine Y/n your probably busy getting ready for yours “. You nodded as you both walked into hybe’s cafe. Ni-ki ordered a dark coffee you your regular and a cake pop. You stared at Ni-ki as he brought his coffee to your table.
“ You drink black coffee? “
“ Ya what’s wrong with that? “
“ Nothing.. It’s just I thought you would like.. more sweet things.. “. Ni-ki’s eyes widened as you drinked your coffee. You were right he always got something sweet but bitter at the cafe but he wanted to look manly infront of you so he got a dark coffee instead of his regular.
“ Plus the barista looked at you weird when you ordered “. You said with a chuckle as Ni-ki laughed to and tried to sneak a bunch of sugar packets into his drink.
You rolled your eyes as Ni-ki did so.
“ I knew it “. Ni-ki dropped the sugar packets and put his hands up like he was being arrested and you laughed.
“ Here have my drink there is no amount of sugar packets that’s going to make that coffee sweet “. Ni-ki grabbed your drink and smiled, knowing something you didn’t really think about.
“ You know we just had an indirect kiss.. “. Ni-ki said as you got your stuff ready to leave. Your eyes went wide as Ni-ki got closer to you.
“ I feel like that means we should have a real one tw- “
“ NI-KI there you are! “. Jungwon said as he tried to drag the younger boy to their van.
“ We have to go! We all need our sleep! “. Jungwon said as Ni-ki told him to wait in the van and that he would only be a few minutes. You watched as Jungwon ran to the van. Then Ni-ki pulled you chin to face him as his face inched closer to yours.
“ It was nice to say hi again y/n “. Ni-ki said as he left a chaste kiss on your lips and ran to his groups van. Leaving you stunned and Minji blowing up your phone demanding you come home.
Wasn’t it just so nice to say Hi Again?

So, we all know our dear lucky boy isn't exactly the tallest of students. In fact, his height make it so shameless girls like Junko use his head as a shelf to rest her heavy breasts on. How does he reacts to this?
Warning: lewd content below
"J-junko." Makoto meekly protests the blonde's treatment of him. He wasn't the tallest of students, clocking in at a very unimpressive 5 foot 3 (which he claims is the average height for Japanese boys his age). As such, he's been victim to a multitude of teasing for it. Like being dunked on in basketball games, having his items held above him out of his reach, or being teased by girls for having an abnormally large dick compared to his size. Y'know, average teasing every short boy experiences. However there was always one girl who knew how to go above and beyond with her teasing.
"Yes? Something the matter, shorty?" Junko replied innocently. To most students it would seem like there were normal students just studiying together in the library, but the lucky boy was aware Junko knew just how to push all the right buttons when it came to Makoto's height. She rarely referred to him by his name, normally a degrading nickname. She often decided things by order of height, leaving him dead last ever since Chihiro's growth spurt. She frequently took advantage of the fact he couldn't reach high up places by placing things he needed on the top shelf. And when he stood on a stool to reach them, she pantsed him! Even in front of others! Which always led to very awkward conversations with anyone who sees, or another situation like that one in the rec room. Makoto shudders; he still gets dreams about that night.
"It's uhm." Makoto looks down. "It's what's in my head." Makoto addressed the elephant in the room, Junko's elephant sized jugs resting ontop of his head!
"Oh c'mon short stuff, don't ya realize how much big titties hurt a gals back? Can't I rest them for a second?"
"It's been ten minutes!"
"Aww, so you've been keeping track?" Junko smirked evily as Makoto's face exploded into an cacophony of red. "Fine fine, if you insist tiny, I'll move my boobs."
"T-thank you." Makoto sighed in relief, his face returning to its natural color. That was until he saw where Junko moved her chest too. Instead of on top of his head, it was right in front of it! Makoto's face redened again, this time from begin mere inches away from motorboating Junko. Makoto backed up, but Junko kept pace with him until the lucky student's back was literally against the wall.
"Geez, it's just soooo hoooot." Junko stretched out each vowel as she played with her tie. Then suddenly, her boobs popped out from beneath her bra. "Much better~." All pretences were dropped as Junko's boobs were literally suffocating Makoto, not that the shorter boy seemed to mind. He began shaking his head while in her cleavage, motorboating her massive knockers.
"Good boy~. Now do me one better short stack, and pull out that-"
"AHEM."
Both Makoto and Junko froze in place, both remembering that there was in fact other people within the school library. Watching them. The whole time.
"Meet me in my room in 5?"
"Y-yes please."

It's halfway through the year! Got any favorite albums/books/tv shows/whatever to recommend?
I'm gonna be honest, I feel like I have been VERY behind on reading/watching/listening to ANYTHING this year. I've only gotten through 3 books, and have big to listen to/to watch/to play piles, but! I shall try to find something to rec.
Books/Comics I have only read 3 books this year and I hattteeee it, but at least one of them was Hanif Abdurraqib's A Little Devil In America, which I finally got around to after buying it almost 3 years ago. 1000% must read imo. I'm sitting on his new one that came out a couple months ago, and I AM going to read this year. I AM. Also, I went to go see him speak a few weeks ago and he complimented my Fireworks shirt because he is one of the few people who loves them as much as I do.
I have read a lot of comics this year though! James Tynion's The Deviant is probably the one I would recommend to you most specifically, it is VERY dark, but VERY good. It's still in progress though, but I think should be wrapped up by the end of the year. Also Jeff Lemire's Phantom Road. It's real weird, I dunno what the hell is going on with it, but I'm enjoying the ride so far. Jeff has another book running right now called Fishflies, which is more traditional Lemire, weird and sad and Canadian. Also very good, but Phantom Road is the one I'm currently enjoying more of the two if I had to pick.
TV/Movies I finally got around to watching the first season of The Terror, which I was a FOOL for missing out on when it was first released. What a fucking television program!!! But other than that, I think anything else you might be interested in that I've seen you've already watched lol. I don't know if Julio Torres' work is up your alley, but his new show Fantasmas is fucking great so far. Very in the weirdo vein of Los Espookys, or like, literally anything he has ever created.
In a weird twist I've watched a lot more movies this year than TV, which hasn't happened in perhaps ever? My biggest recommendation will be for The People's Joker, which unfortunately is not available to stream anywhere yet, I don't think, but hopefully should be soon. I also, to very much my own surprise, really enjoyed the Glenn Powell vehicle Hit Man. Richard Linklater I think can be very hit or miss, but this one was fun if bizarre.
Music I've been trying very hard not to get caught up in the FOMO of roughly 40 albums being released a week that I want to listen to. I think I've finally hit a wall of how much new music I can actually sit down and listen to and appreciate in a given week, so this year has been an exercise in letting go of the need to be on top of everything the second that it drops.
There's this band called Super American that I love, and I can't really figure out why? They're a scrappy little pop-rock-ish duo thing, and they can write hooks for days, but it's often mixed with some of the corniest shit I've ever heard. There's one track on their new record (called Gangster of Love, I fucking hate it) that has a part that sounds like a fucking LFO song. It should suck! I don't know why I don't think it sucks! So your mileage may really vary with that one, but I think baseline it's a fun and silly little summer record.
Also, I can't believe I'm saying this, but the new Story So Far album...rules? Truly did not expect it at all. Parker I am so sorry your dad died, but my god you guys wrote some of your best songs out of it. And for a left-er field rec, the new Hurray for the Riff Raff that came out earlier this year is fantastic, a kind of meandering back to some of their original sound, but in such a more realized way than those earlier records. Just a very gentle and beautiful album.

Dollypop, got any rap recs?
so ive been planning on doing a series of playlists as a kinda introduction to rap, especially so after the dot vs drake beef has put rap back in the spotlight and made more people than ever actually aware of the lyrical content of these songs, its mostly been an issue of executive function beating my ass 5 ways to sunday lately, but suffice to say rap recommendations has been on my mind a lot lately
i could probably go on for a few hrs about hip hop and its place as the culmination of all music prior, but rap is a genre that more so than others rewards album listening so i will more often than not recommend albums over singles/tracks but ill try my best to isolate what i consider to be a well rounded list (no links cus i dont use spotify lmao)
theres a lotta ways to split up rap and hip hop as a whole into a thousand micro genres, especially when you take regions into consideration but i think im gonna go with just 15 tracks that cover as many bases as i can and give a little explanation for each track starting with
NY State of Mind - Nas: ny state of mind is THE classic in my books, dj premier provides the perfect boom bap beat for nas to make the final push to usher in a new generation of rap, literally sampling eric b and rakim in the chorus, the previous pair to bring the genre from the 80’s into the 90’s, furthering that push with more complex rhyme schemes and blending the street/gangsta rap of nwa and wu-tang with the jazzy introspection and philosophy of de la and tribe, a perfect set piece for the album of a desperate kid rapping and telling his stories like its his last day on earth because it just might be
Doomsday – MF DOOM: the manifesto of a super villain, a rulebook on rap, a re-emergence of a forgotten rapper, after the death of his brother and issues with the record label dropping KMD Zev Love X disappeared in ‘94 and then in ‘99 MF DOOM dropped operation: doomsday, the dizzying rhyme schemes and word play, the casual humor and pop culture and sampling referencing lends to a true statement of a song, that DOOM was here and was gonna change the world
4th Chamber – GZA: a dozen wu-tang tracks could’ve appeared on this list and all would be justified but 4th chamber is my favourite by far, starting with the now iconic samurai or kung fu film sample and then kicking into a crazy intro beat that calms slightly in time for ghostface killah to come in and pick it right back up with the first verse of this slick posse cut
Mathematics – Mos Def: Yasiin Bey Is a genius plain and simple, another track produced by preemo another masterpiece of a beat, Bey raps about the sociological statistics that work to keep the black population down in this mathematically driven guide through the politics of the late 90’s
You Got Me – The Roots: this track really shows just how good live instrumentation can be, black thought is one of the greatest of all time, simple as frankly I don’t have too much more to say its just a brilliant song
Wesley’s Theory – Kendrick Lamar: the opening to the greatest album of all time, opening with the mission statement of the album, the sample at the start before the james brown esque hit me pulls the tone back down to earth, part one of the track being a young kdots reactions to the money hes been looking for and part two kendrick plays the role of uncle sam the mascot of white supremacy looking to exploit over eager black artists and talents and lump them with a bill and lock them up when they cant pay it, the deep seeped politics, the groove of thundercat and george clinton of the parliments and funkadelic collectives and the dr dre break really helps sets the tone of the album
Jazz (We’ve Got) – A Tribe called Quest: the perfect jazz rap song, the beat was original made by pete rock before being remade by q-tip, a quintessential classic of the genre simple as
Shook Ones pt 2 – Mobb Deep: the greatest gangsta rap song of all time and frankly its not close its something spectacular, the hardest two 19 year olds ever sounded, over a dark almost evil beat produced by havoc this track is an absolute landmark for not just queensbridge but the entirety of the east coast
Introvert – Little Simz: this track is nothing short of spectacular, a powerful, cinematic, orchestral masterpiece, deep diving into her inner turmoil and her roots, the corruption of the british government, this song shook me to my core when I first listened to simbi, a rallying cry that calls for a war against the oppressing forces further tightening the chains if we ever are to be freed from the oppression
Don’t Cry – J Dilla: this song is gorgeous, chopping up I cant stand (to see you cry) by the escorts into a wonderful beat, made by jay dee in the final throws of his life, half worked on while hospital bound, frequent collaborator and fellow soulquarian questlove stated that this was a message to his mother as J dilla knew the end was near
Nuthin’ But A G Thang – Dr Dre ft Snoop Dogg: the quintessential G-funk banger the genre doesn’t get better than this
SORRY NOT SORRY – Tyler, The Creator: a weird choice for this list, I wasnt sure if I wanted to include it because its so tied to tylers discography but its honestly one of the best rap songs ever when you have the context, especially when you take into account the music video where tyler and all the various versions of himself stand before an audience of ex’s and other notable judgemental presences in his life, as he kills almost every version of himself barring the ‘ugliest’ sides of himself in igor and goblin era tyler potentially insinuating those parts of him still reside inside him
I Used to Love H.E.R – Common: this song is so very important, maybe the best use of metaphor in the whole genre, a fallen out of love story for that very same genre, fantastic storytelling and a great beat by no I.D. one of the most important producers and figures in hip hop out of chicago
Aquemini – Outkast: the title track from one the duos third album and really the record that put the dirty south on the radar on a nationwide level, a sign of their decision to stick together for as long as possible, andres verses really shows hes one of the all time greats and that big boi is not far behind at all
Hazard Duty Pay – JPEGMAFIA: this song was all I listened to for a few weeks after it release, an aggressive single verse track over a soulful beat what more could you want

Kitschke recs, D>E>A>T>H>M>E>T>A>L by Panchiko
I'm skipping around here for a few reasons, mainly that I couldn't really get into Liz Phair (sorry if you love her!), Sludgefest is fun and interesting as an art piece that I've already listened to, but I don't have much to say about it other than that, and 69 love songs is such a daunting task that I don't have time for AT THE MOMENT.... So I will reserve it for a later date, when I finally feel like I have the fortitude to spend enough time with that album. That being said, I've already listened to DEATH METAL quite a bit before now!
So, my main understanding of this album is that it was initially speculated to have been dropped as a part of sort of an ARG; something about it being a lost media album from the early 2000's that had been found and posted online, but it seems like they were actually a real band? Seems like the jury is still out on the matter, but I can totally understand why it feels like it would be a faked period piece.
It feels remarkably out of place for being an early 2000s album, very ahead of its time in a lot of places, though there are notes of some of the late 90's grunge and early 2000's production sensibilities, in the song "Stabilisers For Big Boys" for instance, the chorus with the blown out vocals over nothing but a simple drum machine and a almost imperceptible bass synth tremolo underneath feels very much like a Savage Garden track with just a touch of some early 2000s alternative grunge, thinking like, Finger Eleven or something like that.
That being said though, I think a decent comparison, maybe not necessarily tonally, but in similar "difference" to the time period would be Of Montreal, mainly in songs like "Laputa" (one of my personal faves from this album, though every time it starts playing I think its Bear by The Antlers for just a moment); the track is a little slower, has a good mix of physical and digital instrumentation and production, just a little bit strange lyrically... Definitely lump it together mentally with Cherry Peel. I also taste some hints of The Bends/ OK Computer on this album too, particularly in "Sodium Chloride", the outro especially reminding me of the outro to "No Surprises". Also, to go back to an earlier review, there's also some Portishead (or, generally, triphop) vibes in some of the songs that opt to use a drum machine, e.g. "Kicking Cars".
My first go around with this record was probably a year or two ago, I think probably around the time I started dipping out of my punk phase to start listening to some more alternative stuff; and started to dip into the 90's a bit more. It actually took me a while to get around to want to listen to 90's and early 2000's; as I was born in '96, a lot of the music from this time is just completely out of my purview for the most part, until about 2007 or so. And, around that time, when I had become conscious about music, I had remarkably insular tastes, I refused to enjoy anything on the radio. My Ipod had like, Linkin Park, one or two Queen songs, and I think an entire Jim Gaffigan comedy special. This kinda sensibility continued into my middle school years as well; I had gotten really obsessed with Motion City Soundtrack and the British Pop Rock quartet, Mcfly and refused to listen to just about anything else.
I think, even into my early 20's, even as I had really allowed my horizons to broaden, I had really held on to this notion that the early 2000's and 90's were an overall Bad Time for music, and just never bothered to really engage with anything from the era. Of course, that's totally not true! Although I will admit, some of the radio hits from then are still absolutely grating, it will be too soon if I hear a Five For Fighting song ever again.
Anyway, where I was going when I started listening to this album, I actually really didn't like it at all when I started listening to it. The point I was trying to make with how long it took me to listen to this era of music was that I had to start allowing myself to appreciate this particular genre, I was coming out of a different phase that was much faster paced and raw, and so the mellow nature of this album was kind of lost on me.
But now that I've had the chance to let it sit with me... I actually really kind of love this album. I wouldn't put it as a personal All Timer necessarily, I think it's lacking some of my particular sensibilities that really make me obsess over an album or a band, but it absolutely has a certain pull to it that kept me coming back, even after I had decided I didn't like it! Which is certainly a hallmark of a Good Album. And at the very least, it deserves to be placed along side the accolades of many of the other excellent albums from this era.
It seems like the digital/streaming releases of the album released with a few versions of the songs originally uploaded to /mu/ with the significant CD rot, which is a fun inclusion for sure, I'm a big fan of things like this. Brings to mind Brian Eno's quote from his book A Year With Swollen Appendices, "Whatever you now find weird, ugly, uncomfortable and nasty about a new medium will surely become its signature. CD distortion, the jitteriness of digital video, the crap sound of 8-bit - all of these will be cherished and emulated as soon as they can be avoided. It’s the sound of failure: so much modern art is the sound of things going out of control, of a medium pushing to its limits and breaking apart." though, I don't think I've ever heard any examples of this kind of degradation. Perhaps something to look forward to once CD's fall even further out of the public consciousness, and right back in when the 30 year cycle loops around again.
Fave Tracks: "Laputa", "The Eyes of Ibad", "Sodium Chloride", "Kicking Cars"
Pretty solid 8/10 for D>E>A>T>H>M>E>T>A>L. I really expect this album to grow on me as time goes on. Sorry that this review was mostly just a digression on reminiscing about my experience with music in general and not any especially deep analysis! And I thank you for giving me the chance to really engage with it, as opposed to me just listening to it every now and again when my algorithm decides to show it to me again.

Thought it'd be fun to share some songs I've been playing this week. Idk if there's a exact theme to this list, other than they all kinda give me late spring/start of summer vibes.
Lmk what you think, and feel free to send me your recommendations💜
°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•
Girls Night - Loossemble. I've had this song stuck in my head almost nonstop since their new album dropped last week, it's just so fun and bouncy!
Lovers or Enemies - CIX. I found this one over the weekend and have lost track of how any times I've played it. The chorus is just soo addictive, I love it!
Creatures in Heaven - Glass Animals. Everything they make just has such a cool vibe to it, I love the way the song slowly builds in intensity, it feels very cinematic.
The Butterfly Effect - Before You Exit. This one popped up in my recommendations a few months ago, and I'm so glad it did, they're one of those hidden gems where Idk why I hadn't heard of them til now(I also highly recommend their song Silence). This one's so heartbreakingly soft, it feels like a 3am confession after a breakup.
Slow Mo - BamBam. I'd heard this one ages ago and couldn't find it when I tried to look it up, and then stumbled across it yesterday! It has this really nice, light flow that I really like.

rating music pls dont hate me #33 | BRAT - CHARLI XCX
CHARLI has always been an icon of the pop industry, the internet culture, and the gays. she's responsible for the making of HUGE HITS like I LOVE IT by ICONA POP, FANCY by IGGY AZALEA. she helped REVOLUTIONIZE a new LANDSCAPE for POP MUSIC, taking inspiration from BUBBLEGUM BASS and the PC MUSIC record label and making POP 2. as you can see, she is a BIG DEAL.
with the help of her long-time executive producer A.G COOK, CHARLI returns to the HYPERPOP concept i know and love in her newest album, BRAT. however, BRAT add a simple twist in this form of production—it's a 41-minute long CLUB RECORD. a GREEN PANTONE-coded back drop with with the text 'BRAT' in lowercase printed in the center that is slightly compressed is presented in the cover of the album. "i think the constant demand for access to women’s bodies and faces in our album artwork is MYSOGINISTIC and BORING [sic]," CHARLI tweeted out in response to people's criticism of the artwork's MINIMALISM. she's "not doing things to be NICE." CHARLI's confrontational actions is an introduction of what to expect.
now what is BRAT? BRAT is how CHARLI refer to a person who is "a bit MESSY who loves to PARTY and says DUMB THINGS," CHARLI explains. "she's HONEST, BLUNT, AND A LITTLE BIT VOLATILE. that's BRAT."CHARLI's BRAT SUMMER is a SUMMER holiday where you can do whatever you want and be, and you can assume what a BRAT SUMMER is whatever you like. "[BRAT SUMMER] can be LUXURY but it can also be TRASHY. just like a pack of CIGS and a BIC lighter and a strappy white TANK with NO BRA," the POPSTAR joked in a radio interview with NICK GRIMSHAW. "that's kind of all you need." it's like MEGAN THEE STALLION's HOT GIRL SUMMER, but you're a RAVE GIRL.
what i love about CHARLI's BRAT is how HONEST and RELATABLE she is in the ALBUM and how CONFRONTING she approach to it. CHARLI did confirm that there is no other DISS TRACK in the album but VON DUTCH, but the lyricism is BRUTATLLY HONEST and DIRECT, yet it feels PERSONAL and INFORMAL—CHARLI described it as "the way i would say it to a FRIEND in a TEXT MESSAGE". this way of CHATTING her feelings on the album helps me connect more into all the things she's talking about.
the production is top-tier, too. A.G COOK cooks just as hard as POP 2, now with a more UPBEAT and RAVY tune. CHARLI took part in CO-PRODUCING the track APPLE, she did AWESOME looking at the overall quality of the song (and her BOILER ROOM stage which you should check out). with the PERFECTLY-CRAFTED lyrics over a layer of AUTO-TUNE in some places, she cooked up a AOTY contender, no doubt the AOTY winner.
well, in conclusion, BRAT is now my top 1 album of the year, and my most favorite CHARLI album, succesding POP 2.
underrated gem(s): EVERYTHING IS ROMANTIC - crazy how unpopular this song is like HUHHHH, I MIGHT SAY SOMETHING STUPID - my top 1 sad song of all time in tie with CARAMELDASSEN BUT IT'S PLAYING IN A DIFFERENT ROOM (1 HOUR LOOP), SO I - RIP SOPHIA the best memorial song for the best artist in the HYPERPOP game,
tracks that i rec listening: all
worst track: I THINK ABOUT IT ALL THE TIME - it's a very meaningful song but it kind of run dry BUT THAT DOESN'T MEAN ITS TERRIBLE THO.
overall score 9.9/10 - this is all opinion so pls no hate

sepulchralsmile fic masterlist
here is a masterlist of all the harringrove fics i have up so far! (i know no one asked but i'm doing it for my own reference and i thought i may as well share) i sorted them by word count, and tried to include the description and rating. my username is also sepulchralsmile on ao3, so check them out! :)
for want of a nail - (172k) (Rated: E)
Instead of getting there in October, Billy Hargrove rolls into town at the end of November; complete with a broken arm, a head full of stitches, and some newly-refreshed fear of his father. There he meets Steve Harrington: the preppy dreamboat who seems content with hating Billy's guts on sight and is determined to ignore him for the rest of the year. Billy's never been easily ignored, though, and Steve is about to really learn what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object. (s2 au)
---
i hate you some, i love you some, i love you when i forget about me - (90k) (Rated: T)
After that night in November, Billy is willing to cut his losses, let sleeping dogs lie, and finally leave Steve Harrington alone. Easier said than done, especially when Harrington asks him to be his math tutor. (post s2 au)
---
your will to follow through - (36k) (Rated: T)
After that night at the Byers, Steve feels like his days are all blurring together; drowned in a monotonous rhythm he can't seem to break out of. Desperate for some kind of change, he decides to join the amateur lacrosse league advertised in the rec center. It's just his own brand of shitty luck that Billy happens to be on the team, too. (post s2 lacrosse au)
---
the same deep water as you - (23k) (Rated: T)
Billy has his first Change when he’s nine years old.
He hadn’t really been normal before that, though. His mom would take them swimming and she’d Change, and even though he didn’t have a fin or gills, he’d be able to keep up with her in the water. Would hold his breath for far longer than the typical two to three minutes; he could pop up to the surface a half an hour later without his lungs aching at all. He knew that it wasn’t considered normal, but it was his normal. Both him and his mom. And sharing something like that with her was worth the lifetime of secrets he knew came with it. (secret mermaid billy au, also season 2 au)
---
have you seen her, tell me have you seen her? - (16k) (Rated: T)
Vanessa Harrington knows that she's been lacking in the mother department for, well, a while. So when Steve picks up his grades, she decides a surprise visit is in order. Within the first hour of getting home, she finds her son asleep, and clutched around another boy. This is only the beginning of the whirlwind that ensues. (steve's paren'ts are alright au, post s2 au)
---
but i won't cry for yesterday, there's an ordinary world - (8k) (Rated: E)
He’s whistling to himself as he walks to the door, twirling the keys in his fingers and patting down his pockets to make sure he has his wallet, only to yank it open and stop dead in his tracks.
“Um,” is all he can say, heart lurching to a stop in his chest.
Because standing on the doorstep of their two bedroom house in Carlsbad are Steve’s parents. (future au, living in cali au)
---
the finest hour i've ever known - (3k) (Rated: T)
Instead of grabbing onto the nightstand, his hand smacks into the leaning tower of cassette tapes that Billy has stacked next to his bed.
It feels like time slows down as he watches them topple to the ground in a loud clatter of plastic on plastic. The sound seems to echo around the otherwise quiet room, sounding deafening in the silence.
His heart drops all the way to his fucking stomach; any relief he’d felt earlier gets subsumed by the torrential onslaught of dread. (soft hg au)
---
i don't wanna line, i wanna shine, i wanna say - (2k) (NR)
One of the storeowners, the one with the helmet of brown hair, is standing in the mouth of the aisle. Confused, she looks behind her, and sees nothing. When she turns back, the man has his eyebrows raised.
“Yeah, I’m talking to you,” he says, glaring from behind his eyeglasses. The heat and vitriol behind his gaze almost makes her want to step back in caution. “You’re lucky I decided to do this on a day when you don’t have your kids.”
“Excuse me?” she sputters out, heart rate picking up in that familiar way when she’s faced head-on with confrontation. She’s never been good with the direct approach, most times to a fault. “Do I know you?” her eyes flick down to his badge, where it says Steve. She wracks her brain trying to think of one, especially one that would apparently hate her this much, but his scoffing tears her out of her thoughts.
“No, but you’re about to.” He cocks his head to the side, appraising her. Beverly has a feeling she’s not gonna like what he says next. “Does the name ‘Billy’ ring a bell?” (future au, living in cali au, billy's mom au)
---
you hold my eyes in yours and open up the world - (2k) (Rated: G)
It’s a Tuesday night, and Billy’s clutching his stomach.
He’s about to drop off, counting his breaths, when he hears something in the grass outside. It’s not big enough or loud enough to convince him to roll over and look out the window, so he just curls in tighter and ignores it. Then, about five seconds later, he hears the window opening up slowly, mindful of the creak it always makes whenever the window gets shoved up past a certain point. There was no mistaking it now. He suppresses a sigh and curls in on himself a little bit tighter. (soft hg au)

there they are! i'll probably update and edit it as i post more, but here it is simplified :)

Guess Who Already Got a Season 3 Filmed?
UPLOAD is back. I am down for the strike, but selfishly happy this show got another season filmed. It'll drop in October. That second season was mid so I'm hoping they recapture the magic they had in season 1.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So, I said some ish in the tags, but I'm gonna make my case for why #ThisIsARec (at least season one is) here, since I never see or hear much talk about it! The show centers on a young woman named Nora (played by Prince protegee and Cameroonian actress and musician Andy Allo) who is in a capitalist future dystopia working as a low-paid customer service agent for a digital "after-life" conglomerate. So, it is one of the only shows lead by a black woman (mixed race). One of her clients is a newly dead digital "upload" of a man who may have been murdered for his freeware version of a digital afterlife (played the non-problematic member of the Amell family, Robbie). The show is a sitcom, without multi-cams or laugh tracks, created by the people who brought us Parks and Rec. It dropped in the mid-2010's but is weirdly prophetic with all the near-future markers, from masks to casual treatment of insane classicism and an inflation economy, far-beyond living wages...
There are even hints at the solar-punk solution that was well covered in Pop Culture Detective's recent video about it, centered on the Disney bomb (another one that they didn't promote but should have, Strange World another rec, btw). It's dark comedy, but somehow comforting to watch too? IDK how they did it. The leads have good chemistry ( a scene where she touches his arm has more heat than full-blown sex scenes in other media) and she actually has black family and a black BFF(!), which is like a 'there can be only one' Highlander rarity in media...They never let WOC/black women socialize in these things! Mind you, I did think her friend, Aleesha, played by Zainab Johnson leaned a little bit too much on the sassy trope, but after rewatching, I like that she round-the-way, but *still* the smartest in the room. It's just QT and charming and a lovely uplifting watch, with an underpinning of that dark laughter of recognition of how well it skewers capitalism.
And the lead couple is *chinhands* shippable. It's a very quick binge with 9 half-hour eps and one slightly longer pilot ep. You know I am super-picky with my recs. I can distinguish from my terrible but beloved media which you won't see me tag with #thisisarec.
So, even tho that second season is a rushed, mid, disappointment... #ThisIsARec
UPLOAD is on AmazonPrime

hey hey! have any songs that you love to death and never get to recommend to anyone? anything at all, just songs you'd vouch for at the drop of a hat. :)
ALRIGHT this has been sitting in my ask box for a while and i'm finally feeling the need to answer it. Anyway song recs under the cut in no particular order
Tumblr media
ANY oscilloscope music but especially function and planets by jerobeam fenderson, hehe computer noise go brrrr
K-pop wise it's gotta be drunk-dazed by enhyphen (the best kpop song ever don't @ me) but on a more lighthearted one ABCDLOVE by boynextdoor always cheers me up it feels so light and airy
I do listen to edm a lot and I know that F-777 listeners definetly prefer his geometry dash tracks but I find Medusa so recommendation worthy. So heavy on all the big noises that I love and AUWGHDHF. Brain scratch
In a similar vein ROBOTIC NIGHTMARES BY DJ NATE IS REALLY GOOD. idk what it is abkut it but i think it's the lesser used instruments that i don't often listen to but jts oughh. It's really good.
Ts not much but I hope it leaves some insight into my music taste!!!!!!

Hey, so here’s my lil’ mini review of Jongdae’s mini-album Last Scene after listening to the whole thing twice:
Last Scene: Song was kinda boring ngl like his voice is ofc lovely in any song but the melody itself felt too plain to me. But I did like when he sang higher/with more power towards the lil' bridge and end. Felt like this song would be perfect as an OST for a Kdrama tho which makes sense too since he's an OST king. Like it's the kinda song that plays after a couple breaks up or sumn lol, like the way the accompaniment picks up towards the end really lends to that feel as well.
Photograph: I love when he sings in his lower register, it's very toasty! And soothing too like I felt like I was sitting around a fireplace during the wintertime. Anyways, this song is one where ya gotta close your eyes and just follow the melody, like he's telling a tale just with those notes. And I just love how he switches between his different registers <3. Lastly, this should've been the title track imo if he or SM really wanted a ballad as a title track.
Traveler: Finally…an uptempo beat OTL. Lmao I love this so much just from that, like gotdamn Jongdae your voice lends so well to not just ballads but also poppy, upbeat songs. But tell me why this song also feels like it'd be perfect as an OST too like it'd be the one that plays when a couple goes on a date or sumn. Hehe anyways I liked it a lot!
I Don't Even Mind: I love me a good acoustic guitar in a song~ But lol why'd the background sounds raise as it got to the chorus like it was gonna be some big drop or twist just to have it be the same beat? T.T The beat with the kinda faded Ohh's or whatever it is and the guitar playing together really adds to a haunting melody in this to me. I love it though (and imo this song is the perfect compliment to Junmyeon's song Decanting). Anyway the way he sings 'Cause I Don't Even Mind' is gonna get stuck in my head lol. Overall, I dug this song too!
Reminisce: I liked the drums that came in during the pre-chorus, and his voice ofc again. I'm always in awe of how high his voice can go and at how he effortlessly sings every note! But yeah with this song, in general it's just okay like I wouldn't go outta my way to listen to it after these 2 listens, y'know? Felt too generic to me.
Your Shelter: I feel the emotion in this one, like I felt a sense of dread, a sense of hope, sadness, everything wrapped up in his voice. And with the sad melody from that awesome piano playing, I lowkey felt emo af lol but this would be perfect to play when it rains. Like this is what Last Scene should've been imo. This or Photograph def should've been the title track imo. Seriously tho, I loved the piano in this and I actually was like No, it's over when it ended 'cause I wanted more. Perfect way to end the album imo.
And so my favs from this album in order are: Photograph, Traveler, I Don't Even Mind, Your Shelter, Reminisce, Last Scene.
TL;DR: So, I loved 4 songs out of this album! The other two were kinda boring to me but still I'm glad that even though these are like almost all ballads, he went with a few with different accompaniment than the typical plain acoustic guitar or one-note piano playing that a lot of ballads can have. I'd rec listening to this album overall! And only thing I'd want to hear as a fan of his voice, is him singing even more upbeat songs, like go crazy dude. (And I'm forever wanting him to do a full rock or at least pop-rock song like his voice is perfect for that. Like hello? Uprising was legendary and it'd be amazing to hear more in that vain. Anyways that's a rant for another time lol. Thanks for reading all that and please lemme know what you thought of the album as well~)

AUDIENCE
Tumblr media
It's Ayumi Hamasaki's birthday on October 2 and we're extending the celebration in true ego-maniacal, splashy celebrity fashion, by drawing out the festivities for an entire week! Each day I will briefly discuss a totally random item chosen (not by me) from my Ayu collection. Prepare for praise, disappointment, and controversial opinions backed by love and respect as we take a casual look back in this blurry snapshot of her career. Happy Birthday to our Party Queen, Ayumi Hamasaki!
We have another classic Ayu single here with "AUDIENCE," released in its subsequent vinyl version on Avex’s Rhythm Republic sub-label only a month after the CD maxi-single version. Chronologically, this single came right after the simultaneous drop of the SURREAL maxi-single, and her third original studio album, Duty, two months earlier in the fall of 2000. The song was originally included on said album, but though it may seem like an anomaly for Ayumi to have released a single after its album release, she had actually already done this before when she released both album tracks "kanariya" and "Fly high" as maxi-singles within two months of the release of LOVEppears. All the more for us maxi-single, dance music lovers!
"AUDIENCE" has become a fan favorite since its release, often saved during concert tours for the high-energy back-end of performances. This vinyl version includes three cuts off of the original single: "Keith Litman's Big City Club Mix" on Side A, and the "Dave Ford Mix" on side B, along with the "Sample MadnesS remix" of "SURREAL" by producer Eboman. The Keith Litman version on the vinyl is an original mix exclusive to the format, as the mix on the maxi-single is the shorter "Radio Mix." There is also a longer, extended mix of this included on the EP excerpts from ayu-mi-x III CD005. His remix is quite good, and appropriately "club-y," but doesn't stand out in any particular way.
The mix by Dave Ford is startlingly similar to what we know as the original version of this song, with very subtle, yet hugely impactful, differences. Dave Ford mixed singles and albums for several Avex Trax, and other J-pop, artists (Namie Amuro, Dream, Every Little Thing, Favorite Blue, move, Rina Chinen, T.M.Revolution, my God the list goes on), remix compilations, and other Ayu singles (including mixing the "AUBE Original Mix" of "Boys & Girls," the version that appears on LOVEppears, and tracks on the A maxi-single.).
He is an incredibly, and near criminally, underrated engineer in global pop music and was one of the reasons that Avex Trax artists always sounded incredible, with a knack for bringing out the bustling, maximalist energy of a record and making it as full and warm and just about to blow out of your speakers as it deserved to sound. In my opinion, Dave Ford has helped shape the modern, specifically 90s-early 00s, technical soundscape of Japanese pop music, and certainly that of Avex Trax’s particular brand, nearly as much as Tetsuya Komuro did for style and melody, but he never gets mentioned. In fact, the two often appeared on the same liner notes, with Dave Ford mixing dozens of records, including hitomi and trf, as far back as 1994 (”WOW WAR TONIGHT”? That was him). Here, he brings the fun and richness to a song like "AUDIENCE," a song that with its relentless synths, energetic BPM, and wall-to-wall density imitating the rush and euphoria of being in a crowd seems more like a LOVEppears holdover than something off of the more restrained, cool Duty. It's an incredible song and I'm glad it got its time to shine on its own release. Mostly, I’m glad Dave Ford was a part of it, because it would have been a very different song without him -- you can pick up on t just by the way the energy of it makes you feel it when listening to it side-by-side to the slightly more conservative Duty version). Certainly, his absence has been felt at the same time TK stopped being top dog and the sun set on this particular sonic era.
The value of having large record sleeves really comes in handy with this single: the cover art features dozens of pictures of Ayumi dressed up as different "fans" that comprise an entire audience. No two shots are alike, and it's really neat to see all of the different images clearly without having to use a magnifying glass with the CD sleeve. In terms of jacket sleeves, this is one of her best and showcased just how much effort, time, and thought was put into them back then (the rainbow gradient is not just visually interesting, it’s also deliberate). I've written about a lot of early Ayu releases, but it's worth repeating: this is both a genuinely iconic, great song, and an indispensable piece of her discography. But also: give credit to whom it’s due.

Hi internet stranger!! I hope this is okay but I accidentally stumbled onto your post about discovering Key's synthwave tracks and I thought you might enjoy a few recs because you seem cool and that's the sound of maybe 80-ish% of his discography and I thought you might enjoy it? (also please feel free to ignore this if you're not into unsolicited song rec asks) or if you've already heard any of these- I excluded the 3 songs you already mentioned!
I made a playlist because I thought it might be less annoying than dropping a bunch of links:
https://open.spotify.com/playlist/0Pa7T8PDLpUS7eRfoZ47Fl?si=i8UFLejTRxSsvyVKelJmXw
There's definitely more! He has quite a few songs that are pop/rock/edm etc with a synth-y feel? But I think you'll enjoy these the most!
Anyway I hope you have a lovely day/evening!♥️
Oh thank you so much for the recs!!! His songs really grow on me lately. And the retro sci-fi concept of his BAD LOVE album is just... Now I'm torn between it and the upcomming Xdinary heroes album heh
