am i strong enough for a sonic x rewatch

#i never finished it despite multiple attempts as a kid [fansubbed in 240p and split into 3 parts per episode as god intended]#but just because of the era of sonic fandom i grew up in it’s a significant piece of media for me lol #it’s so damn long is the thing. and i partake in the occasional Long Show but i need to be doing other stuff at the same time because adhd #but of course with sonic x either i have to lock in the whole time to read the translation subtitles or i have to watch the 4kids dub #watching in japanese will complete the being 12 watching sonic in my bedroom feeling extremely cool and cultured experience #as well as y’know being the objectively better and more consistent version of the show lmao #but english sonic x is kind of iconic…. i don’t want I Pretended I Was A Bar Of Soap And Slipped Right Past Them to just be Some Line….#maybe i’ll save it for my next long ass shiny hunt[s]

I don't think ill be saying anything new with this, and I'm not trying to I just want to air a thought, but I do think that one of the biggest if not the main misconception that abled people have around accessibility/adjustable settings in gaming is that they are there to make the game easier for disabled people. The point of an accessibility setting is to make it so that everyone can play at the same level. It might make the game easier for someone who doesn't need it normally, but for the people who it is there for it makes the game playable, usually at the same level as an abled player who is not using any alternative settings. If a game relies heavily on audio, it isn't going to be easier to play just because you have subtitles and indicators for HOH/deaf players, it's going to make it, so those players can enjoy the game at the same level as non HOH/deaf players. When I turn on subtitles in, say, minecraft, it's not because I'm expecting the game to be easier, it's because I want to be able to play the game at a normal difficulty level.

#txt #and i dont think anyone who has this misconception is evil or anything #i think it's juist something that needs to be worked to reduce #so that EVERYONE can enjoy a game regardless of ability #some games arent going to be for everyone and i dont think someone should need to chnaage a game fundamentally to make it acessable #but certain changes can make it so someone who previously couldnt play it at all now can play the game #and enjoy it at the same level as everyone else #and i like games that are challenging and wouldnt ask that agame be made less challenging for me at all #i know for most gamers the challenge is part of the fun #just make it so it isnt disproportionately difficult for some players #btw i have an audio processing disorder which is where i am coming from with this #but i think it can apply to many different people and accessability needs #i just used audio stuff as an example bc its something i personally use a lot #especially in games with voice acted cutscenes or which rely on you hearing certain instructions or indicators/cues #i like audio cues but i cant always hear them #especially when its someone speaking lol then i abolsutely need subtitles

Love how the new PLL writers were like okay FINE fans were right to point out that A was never really a slasher villain and continuing to use that moniker for these new villains is a slap in the face to the original evil girlbosses-- Mona, Cece, and Ello Spensah-- who worked 👏 hard 👏 scheming and stooging (sometimes YEARS of preparation!) in order to torture the original liars...... so for these new girls we will call the villains B instead :)

Well the french in the last episode of iwtv was certainly something

#I think I needed the subtitles almost as much as someone who does not speak french. Had to re listen to some of the lines like 2 or 3 times #WHILE reading the subs to know wtf they were saying. Or am I stupid ? I'll ask friends what they think #(Not all the lines but some were hard to get for me)#Like i understand the main actors are not fluent. Not sure they even speak french cause sometimes it sounds like they dont know what the #fuck they're saying themselves. But would it kill them to hire at least french actors for background characters who have 2 lines. So that #at least the environement is believable. Like it was okay in the 1st season cause there werent big sentences in french but here..nope #also when Sam Reid speaks english with the french accent it's okay. It works honestly. I mean I think. And at least it's funny.#But in s2 having them act those big sentences wasn't a good idea. Really you can see they dont know where to put what little tonic accent w #have in french. And so it sounds fake. I mean ''ça sonne faux'' but i dont know how to translate that exactly in english. But yeah makes th #lines sound unsincere and meaningless. So the acting is downgraded. And I can see they're putting a lot of effort into it but it does #Make them sound like they're struggling hard. And we go back to the line not feeling right. Like they dont know what they're saying you kno #*I meant intonation rather that tonic accent (maybe ?) french doesnt have a lot of tonic accent(s). but both probably apply to this case)#Im only this bitchy about it cause it's a rather big production. Im pretty sure they have the resources to do better.#I know it most likely the same for any other language that was represented in the show. Or other shows for that matter. It's just that #I dont have expertise on other languages. Tho i dont remember what show i was watching where the actors spoke spanish and even i could tell #they were neither spanish nor from any latin america country. i was worried my mom would find it weird that i wanted to buy DVDs in 2023 but not only did she help me out but she also bought me a new portable DVD player. neat

#rambles #not jojo related #personal #we have DVD players laying around but they are quite old and mom didn't know where they were lol #i remember having a portable DVD player when i was little. i think i got in trouble for trying to put rocks in it #i really do like DVDs and we have quite a few of them still in our shelves but my parents have streaming services now so we don't use them #i have always been sort of repulsed by the idea of using streaming services for watching anything though #i really do not like the idea of all media not being ownable and instead being on streaming services that can delete media when it wants #of course i definitely DON'T just pirate things most of the time (totally definitely not)#anyway in this particular instance i got DVDs of invader zim (shocker)#particularly because the IZ DVDs have special commentary from the showrunners and voice actors #the commentary isn't available on anything else and i could only find some of them on youtube and on internet archive #so the DVDs i will get... i need to listen to that commentary god damn it #i looked into the DVDs and not only do they have commentary but also episode animatics and even an option for IRKEN subtitles??#i didn't even know irkens had a whole developed language tbh...#DVDs can be so cool with the artwork and custom screens and special features... so much cooler than streaming services really

Oh... Oh no. The JJK S2 Vol.5 DVD has a bonus drama featuring Nobara and Toge.

The title of the drama is "Wild Roses and Thorns". Nobara was scouted as a model but the recruiter is a curse user (?) and Toge would help her. Sorry for the rough translation.

Now this is bad. This is really bad.

#LMAO #like its definitely a fun movie. but it's blatantly just a quick star wars ripoff #but for some fucking reason i decided to splice myself an original audio only version #the power of hating out of sync dialogue i guess #ive mostly got it done. theres some quirks in the video and audio that i still need to fix #but rn I'm just working on subtitles. gotta rewrite them all to fit my timing #and the English subtitles from the Japanese version dont always actually match what theyre saying #so I'm fixing that #i sat down at like 6 today and was like ok! editing subtitles real quick!#this shouldnt take long!#little did i know. it is 11pm and im not even halfway thru #bro i WISH i could tell u how many hours ive sunk into this silly goofy project by now #let's see i watched the movie Monday. pretty much immediately downloaded the 2 versions #ive been working on it at least a bit every day... probably around 20 hours?? at least?? considering how i spend my time??#so it's safe to say this movie is part of my brain matter now #theres parts that were tricky to get the audio right. that i had to check over and over #that i know like. exactly the diction of the lines. it's kinda hilarious #watching it again as i write the captions like lol. that's that line. the cadence of it lives in my brain forever #anyway anyway. having a normal one #i literally didn't even like the movie much when i watched it like it was fine #but by nature of spending so much time with it it is now like an old friend to me #those are my pals in the silly costumes flying the silly spaceships. so true maia. or whatever

Your Ascendant alone (or just its ruler or the planets sitting in your 1st house) isn’t enough to define your appearance. You gotta look at the aspects to the Ascendant, the planets in the 1st house, the chart ruler, and its aspects too.

The ascendant is like your default character design. Think of it as a "default skin" in a video game. The ASC ruler is like your stylist who works behind the scenes and the mastermind behind your look. The planets in your 1st house, the aspects to your ascendant and to the planets in 1st house is the DLC pack that really customizes your look.

Saturn in 1st/conjunct ASC - Stiff posture. Ages in reverse. Looks 30 at 20 but looks 40 at 60. Deep-set eyes. Wrinkles before 30. Knees, joints, or back always ache even if they are sitting doing nothing. Looks better with age. Ugly duckling as a kid/teen. Sharp defined bone structure as an adult.

Moon in 1st/conjunct ASC - BIG eyes. Puffy cheeks that people want to pinch even when they're grown adults. Pouty lips. Gets sweaty easily. Skin glows weirdly like sometimes as a built-in instagram filter sometimes greasy. Gliding instead of walking. People mistakes them for someone else sometimes.

Uranus in 1st/conjunct ASC - Hair does whatever it wants and never behaves. Either noticeably tall or noticeably short. No in-between. Posture that either as stiff as a board or slouches like a hacker. Randomly winks, raises brow, smirks or stares into nothing.

Sun in 1st/conjunct ASC - Hairline so perfect it looks like CGI. Looks expensive even when broke. Aging slows after 30. Laugh is as contagious as a virus. Neck slightly longer than average. Skin tans fast. Cheekbones pop when smiling. Looks like Greek statue in side angles.

Venus in 1st/conjunct ASC - Dimples, even in weird places. Hips curve like a renaissance painting. Balancing proportions. Gains weight only in right places. Natural symmetrical face. Baby hairs lay perfectly. Doesn't even need nail polish as they can rock without it. Shoulders have a graceful rounded slope. Weight gain makes them hotter. Wide hips, thick thighs and butt. THICC body.

Mars in 1st/conjunct ASC - Forehead vein pops when mad. Prone to random scrapes and scars. Operate at 1.5x speed. Dressing style depends on their mood. Formal when composed, bitchy when annoyed, angelic when warm and boyish when fun. Also hairstyles depend on their mood too. Struggles with hair fall in mid 20's.

Mercury in 1st/conjunct ASC - Mouth is slightly open even when they sleep. Snores. Blinks fast. talk with their hands. Looks younger than they are. Eyes move like they're reading subtitles in real life when talking. Fine or wavy hair sometimes its messy. Nails might be bitten, tapped, or fidgeted with constantly. Short eyelashes. Switchy emotions like smiles one second serious the next.

Jupiter in 1st/conjunct ASC - Gains weight faster than they lose. Rounded or slightly protruding belly if gained even a little weight. Laugh is impossible to ignore. Full wide cheeks like they store snacks there. Broad forehead. Big teeth or an over-exaggerated smile like they are in a tooth paste advertisement. plump lips. Gives "big presence" energy. Large hands and feet.

Sun square ascendant- Face would look slightly irritated even if they don't mean to. Sometimes force their smile or just look like that even when real.

Moon square ASC - Face bloats easily, especially under the eyes. eczema, redness, or dry patches are common. Cheeks puff up randomly.

Venus square ASC - Would think they are not good looking enough. Insecured about their looks. Weirdly pretty. Sometimes looks AI generated. You get me? Lips too big or nose too sharp. Beautiful but off.

Mars opposite ASC - Bad boy/girl vibes. Can look pissed off even when happy.

Sun opposite ASC - Silent but strong type. Can come off either intimidating or bossy.

Uranus square ASC - Unusual eye color, shape, or one bigger than the other. Can't really tell if they are attractive or really unique. It's like features are drawn by different artists.

Neptune square ASC - Can look slightly sleepy or like a fever dream. Soft features but slightly off focus. Look different everytime.

Moon opposite ASC - A living emoji. Puffy under-eyes are permanent.

If you’ve got multiple planets in your 1st house with a ton of aspects, you’re basically ramen noodles - complex, tangled, and impossible to replicate.
