Okay, so I haven't watched all of FMAB yet, but I love how Ed is so fucking oblivious. He got a gorgeous girl, way smarter than him and out of everybody's league, who plays with the cord of the telephone when they speak together because she's down bad and laughs softly when he talks. And he's like "yeah, yeah, well, I am glad you're alive haha I thought they were going to brutally fucking murder you today. So that's a relief. Bye, super best friend in the world" and hangs up like the moron he is. But not only that, because well, they can't see each other so I get he doesn't notice the crush in Winry's voice, BUT LING?????? Dude has been with that prince inside a guy's stomach and has carried him around and cooked him his boot and yelled at him for giving up because he can't leave somebody as ambitious as him there without accomplishing what he wants, and then he says some gay bullshit like "Ling is still in there" after looking at Greed's eyes ONCE. One thing is not realizing a girl is crushing on you but Oh my God Edward for fuck's sake get a clue and realize you like men-

Alastor looks up from his book and tilted his head at Angel, briefly dislodging Nifty who was crafting him a new King Roach 2.0 crown.

"Whatever do you mean my good fellow? Husker's right behind you!"

Husk scowled and pointedly flipped him off while drinking straight from a bottle of vodka.

Angel patted his paw and took the bottle away with his other hand. "I mean a guy you don't have on your pay role."

Alastor hummed, "Woman are much better conversation partners. Witty, charming, and full of pizazz! Men just can't compare."

Vaggie poked her head into the room, and hearing this, grunted in agreement, "For once, can't say I disagree with you."

Angel exaggeratedly placed his hand over his heart and gasped like he'd been betrayed.

Lucifer was a bit suspicious, "You know, that sounds like something you'd say to describe yourself."

Nifty finished the crown and bestowed it upon Alastor with a flourish and a bow. He gave Lucifer a mocking smile, "I'm flattered you think so, I'd only be so fortunate."

Angel stopped antagonizing Vaggie and jokingly said, "to be a woman?"

Alastor laughed, this time like Angel had said something absurdly obvious, "Well yes, wouldn't everyone?"

Don't get me wrong, I love painland because they're the land of pain payneland dearly & I'm currently writing *multiple* fics about them.

I know this has already been said and I’m super late, but Mia as the protag of RE8 would have been so good. The contrast between Mia, the Lords, and Mother Miranda would have been absolutely interesting. I'm shoving everything under a read more because damn I have so many thoughts about Mia.

Lady Dimitrescu is a woman that cannibalizes and drinks the blood of her servants and intruders. On top of that, she tortures before preying on them. She does this willingly and very much derives pleasure from doing so. Lady D’s gothic triplets hunt any poor fool that wanders in. It’s a fun family activity for them just as much as it’s for sustenance. 

Do you know what this parallels? The Baker family under Eveline’s control. They patrol the estate and anyone who rejects the “gift” either ends up molded or on the dinner table. This family also partakes in a fucked up version of a family dinner, eating the victims that refused their little girl’s “gift.” 

However, a major difference between the Baker and Dimitrescu family is their willingness to participate in these activities. A family of cannibals; one forced while the other relishes in it. 

Mia is still very traumatized by her three years in the Baker’s estate. Breaking into the castle to find her daughter would force her back. Hello to all the emotions that come with those memories, the ones Mia has been trying to forget. The harder you try to forget something, the more you think about it. What better way to make Mia acknowledge Dulvey, Louisiana than by forcing her into something so similar? 

And while she’s still reeling from remembering her time in captivity, why not push her a bit further down memory lane with House Beneviento? Mia has demonstrated at multiple points in RE7 that she does care about other lives. She lies to Ethan to keep him from getting caught up in her work. She tries to save Alan and crew members of "The Annabelle" (the crew members are a bit more indirect, she mainly focused on Alan) by containing Eveline. After Jack finds her, Mia keeps her distance to keep from infecting them while trying to write a warning. She tries her hardest during RE7 to save Ethan. 

Mia’s hallucinations could center on her guilt. The failure to stop Eveline and the lives ruined as a result. How she was always too late to help anyone. Ethan curing her, a criminal, over Zoe, the person helping him. Leaving Zoe behind in the shattered remains of her home and family. Surviving. Visions of Ethan hinting at his “condition” could lure her to the manor. A little nudge to the whole “he was mold the entire time” plot twist without fully giving it away. 

Moreau, lacking in self worth and very attached to a woman who doesn’t give him the time a day, yet still he considers her as his mother. Most of his actions are for the attention and validation from his “mother.” No matter what Moreau does, he’ll never have her affection or time. It’s sad, isn’t it? To witness a man try so hard only to be rejected. And isn’t that familiar? Mia once felt compassion for someone with similar traits. 

Remember the little girl who considered you her mother? The one that spent three years waiting for you to love her after you promised? The one you had a hand in killing? What makes you think you could ever be a good mother after what you did? Why are you trying so hard to save Rose when you didn’t even extend the same courtesy to Eveline?

Y’all know how Mia’s past is a mystery? Like why she was working for the Connections and how she was even recruited and all that. Heisenberg would be a great way to explore it. A man taken, forced into becoming something else, and stuck in a family he doesn’t want. Mia can relate. He wants to use her daughter as a weapon. She was willing to let another child be used as a weapon. They’re alike, so surely Mia would be willing to side with him.

But Heisenberg is cocky and Mia isn’t the person she was prior/during 7. Even if she was on board with using Eveline as a weapon to end all wars or whatever bullshit the Connections told her, she’s not willing now. Not after what she’s seen and been through. This section could be Heisenberg goading her through the tvs/intercoms about her past to change her mind with Mia remaining steadfast in her refusal.

And then there’s Mother Miranda. Two mothers trying to get their daughters back through vastly different means. Because of the group photo showing Mia and Miranda with Eveline this encounter can go one of two ways. 

Miranda and Mia know each other and have worked together before. Whether it be on the E-Series Project (with Mia becoming the caretaker and spending copious amounts of time at the lab) or though some other means at work. 

They’ve only briefly met when the Connections were in a hurry to transport Eveline.

Either way, Miranda would compare them. As a mother, Mia must understand what she’s trying to accomplish. Would Mia not do the same as she? Maybe at this point Miranda shows she killed Ethan to demoralize to prevent her from interfering with the ceremony. Tells her she’s too late once again and to give Rose to her because she’ll be the superior mother.

Idk, I guess you could switch to Ethan instead of Chris so he can still have Eveline tell him he’s moldy. But he’s a stubborn man and he forces himself back to weaken Miranda so Mia can kill her. Chris shows up and Ethan does the same thing he did at the end by blowing himself up with Chris forcing Mia (with Rose) on the helicopter. That way the Shadow of Rose DLC can still be about Rose and Ethan. 

TLDR; Mia should have been the protagonist because it would have allowed us to explore her character and background more. It was a missed opportunity especially since so much of RE8 centers around mothers. It would have played out better as closing off the Winters Family saga as well since we could have tied the loose ends that came with Mia’s mysterious past.

The hot coffee is quick to catch in his throat and he coughs loudly at the sudden answer, his hand pounding his chest twice so he can get the shitty drink down into his stomach. "Marr-" He coughs again, unable to really wrap his head around it all - hadn't she only just began speaking to Lee Sin about all of this? It was a little fast after only just revealing that they were officially a couple. Ohh his heart. Ohh his stress. His sick days looked more and more delicious with every passing day, didn't they? Maybe he should tell Danny that they need to move across the country--

"Holy shit."

He watches her steadily as his fingers come to pinch the area between his brows. The advil he took has done absolutely nothing for his headache and this is not helping either. Although the way she whined and whimpered made his lip curl in repulsion, the pathetic display was enough to make him sick. "I don't think you had much of a choice in that, Miss Evelynn, time is cruel to all of us, yes?" Robin's voice remained steady despite the inward annoyance he was feeling towards all of this, particularly when Danny was mentioned.

"I would ask him. I plan to, soon, actually. I don't want either of our families involved if I can help it." A pause as he turns the topic around once more back on track, "I do think asking so quickly after you only just spoke to Lee about dating her would raise red flags. People...or creatures, aren't necessarily something you can just lay claim over, I can understand why Lee would be hurt. Even as your assistant, you've only just revealed to her your true nature, and have only just told her that you love her. Being in love is a decision, not the natural culmination of a long-term relationship.  It's something that you're a part of. You're a member of a two-person team, and like any team, the best ones have an implicit trust and understanding between the members. Can you guarantee that you'll be able to be honest with her always, even after it took so long to be this time around? That this pain you're feeling - that you'll be able to go through this over and over again as long as she is with you? It isn't...a fairytale. Nothing changes by saying it, by being married...nothing."

He is unable to stop the way his mind drifts to Danny.

"Most days will be average, they've become such an ingrained part of your life that its normal to go over everything with them. Some days will be full of frustration and anger, and some days will be like you've found everything you've ever wanted. Even without a ring, even without a piece of paper or a courthouse or anything like that, being in love is saying to yourself, "There are many uncertainties in life but one thing I am completely certain of is THIS person and I want to face ALL of the shit life has to offer with THEM until I die."" He doesn't realize how he fidgets with his fingers.

"A single "I love you" does not make a marriage, it doesn't make anything - it is just a statement of your feelings. Your actions from that point on, your love for them, that is all that matters. You sitting here...wallowing because 1 thing went wrong tells me that no, you aren't ready to marry her yet. This....self pity that you're feeling is something you need to take in stride and move on from, your relationship isn't over-- and being so upset by a single thing, to the point where you wonder if having these feelings is worth it, spells it out clear as day to me that you aren't ready, as much as you want to be." He sips his coffee, "I can guarantee you that Lee Sin disapproving will be a minor problem in the long term, what will you do when things worsen or Miss Akali and you get into a fight? Will you be so willing to throw away your humanity then too?"

"I think, maybe...you need to focus on being in love rather than the idea of having her forever. As of now...this reads as you being in love with the idea of love, of being loved back, but that isn't what will make you happy."

"Marriage."

She jumps to the point, because there's no reason in sugar coating it. Evelynn isn't entirely a fool, and perhaps just in that moment she was. Her head drops with a heavy sigh, not minding the rather loud thud it makes with the table. It's nothing to the ache that already resides within.

"I already know it was of ill nature," she comments, mostly into the table and hardly audible. "Humane desires can be so silly --" sitting up, she takes another breath and winces. "To want to be happy, just once. Relations -- familial, they're lost on me."

A pout, she really does look pathetic right now. "I cannot help but think sometimes; would I be better off not accepting these very emotions? To live as I did those eons ago without a care?" Rhetorical, because she knows eventually she wouldn't have been able to avoid it any longer. "How would you ask -- well, I don't even know about Danny's family."

She hisses as her brows furrow. "I.. think I need to feed soon."

i really like the dichotomy of everyone respecting Nana as their friend off stage (and the darker feeling she has that they All take from her in one way or another except Karen) but inside the stage duels as performers with her as their ultimate test, they're all still prideful enough to treat it as every man's glory for themselves, making it so they can't hold a grudge against Nana outside the Revues because to everyone the Revues are Just Business and a space for words that don't belong outside it- which plays into the repression that's hurting all their relationships, they really thought of everything making this series

YOU COULD HEAR RIVER'S PANICKED BREATHING IN THE CREDITS. what an episode. this show is incredible. extraordinary genius.

Rome does look pretty good with that dope hat (probably because I made him bard-like and bards always have dope hats), but I don't think I'll add it to his main design. I do like it, though. However, I think I went overboard on the design of it. Looking back, it's not nearly as complicated. I don't even think it has a feather. Oops...

One would think that Smitten would have no reason to enter Spooky's mansion. (Like, what? A trivial prize for a thousand-room expedition? I've better things to do.) But rest assured. He doesn't have just one reason. Depending on what game mode you play, he can have three to seven reasons to enter.

Crazy how despite Mikan's love for gory movies and blood, she doesn't do an over the top murder. She doesn't even do a medical themed murder despite it being the main focus of the chapter. (Only one of her victims was a patient and she just strangled her)
