jekyll andh yde jjekyln and yyde hdye hyde jelyl and hyde jekyll hyde
info below wwww
every comment i get about these not being accurate to the og characters ill draw jekyll in a pink dress and cat ears dancing to taylor swift . i dont like taylor swift no not really i just find it funny to think that jekyll listens to taylor swift and britney spears . yeah. and lady gaga too. that evil 43 year old man would totally love that type of stuff
uh yes this was my old tgs headcanon world if you recognise these from that hi. but i kind of got out of tgs a bit due to personal reasons so i grabbed the previous headcanonned characters and flipped them upside down and made them into their own thing outside of tgs. i think i did a good job? i didnt really want to associate them with tgs anymore so i just took every creative turn that squirmed itself into my head. and it helped that my previous tgs headcanon world strayed really far from the og in the first place and was kind of already its own thing. so yeah i kind of like what i have so far im pretty happy with it . i really like uttersons character so far and im excited to start on emma and lucy [my hatred for the j&h musical has fuelled me to make my own version of them] im especially excited for emma i have so many ideas for her character and just. ideas to actually make her even a character and not just a plot role for jekyll. i love you emma you deserved so much better ill give you a gun and make you a werewolf and everything you deserve everything cool and awesome babygirl !!!! ill even give you a cool spiked jacket that your girlfriend gave you!!!! everything for you !!!!
basic story plot for this side of the story [since the story is split across multiple perspectives and these are just some of the many] uhhh jekyll goes crazy and fully stays transformed as hyde and falls into really bad habits and addiction as hyde . it starts small at first but when lanyon dies it hits the tipping point and they fully give up on trying. jekyll is considered dead due to being missing for a good chunk of months and hyde inherits the stuff from the will and takes over the life their previous persona had [very messily though since hyde is a complete wreck right now]
meanwhile utterson in the background is fully loosing her mind in depression [thinks he lost her two only friends. fair enough] but one day sees jekyll in the street running even though jekyll has been considered dead for like months by then. utterson then gets real bad tunnel vision on finding jekyll and dedicates everything to finding jekyll. spends all her time locked in her room just looking for leads. drops her job and everything to dedicate herself to this. his main lead and who he has to team up with to find jekyll?: hyde [said person very much so not wanting to team up with utterson due to who theyre hunting but only does it because theyre still clinging to and missing some of the old parts of their previous identity as jekyll with one of those parts being their old friendship with utterson] anyways they basically go on a big little detective goose chase until utterson gets pissed at hyde after figuring out some stuff and they fight and split off from eachother and hyde like gets kidnapped immediately after that because lets be real nobody really likes that guy they have so many enemys. what a loser
oh and yeah uh lanyon gets brought back to life frankie style and just becomes a minion for this guy kind of. im still developing them. basically theyre hunting hyde though because same as everybody they think hyde killed jekyll . and lanyon kind of lost their marbles from the whole getting brought back process and lost a lot of their memorys. ok guys cmon literally all my lanyons are sweethearts who just so happen to be friends with insane people [utterson and hyde] i deserve to make a adaptation where all 3 of them are equally insane. ok. i deserve it for all the normal lanyons ive made.
i wanted to make jekyll really creepy and also affected by the soul split thing and not just hyde so jekyll is kinda weird in this one. he looks younger in some images and thats done on purpose . when hes being creepy he looks younger. uh i have a doodle of what he looks like when hes getting 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝓪𝓴𝔂 and being very not normal . im not adding it. to the main post because i dont like the art it looks STINKY !!!
you can see all my design notes on the side lol i like to yell at myself in my notes
feeling cute so ill probably kill them all as the storys ending yeah somebodys gotta humble jekyll and beat his head on the curve im just doing gods work yknow
kidding maybe
still deciding. vote to decide if jekyll gets beat in the street or not !!!
ok im ending this i gotta stop talking or ill never stop
im VERY tired right now. hit like and subscribe for more epic bangers from yours truely!!!!
#jekyll and hyde#my art#my ocs#henry jekyll#gabriel john utterson#edward hyde#UTTERSON I LUV YOUJ !!#hastie lanyon#double d art

We did it Baek, we beat the MATURE CONTENT allegations! Not sure about this message though 👀 Yes, I'm either meeting idols randomly or missing everything </3
Not being able to see Kai in the MV, fucking jail for everyone!!! I'm glad the comeback seems to be successful despite everything, honestly first Shinee now Exo, good times for the hags! I listened to Baekhyun's debut 10 times in a row to celebrate the anniversary btw!
My overall review of Exist is that I enjoyed the album, I like that it's EASY TO DIGEST, but the songs are catchy enough, I don't go through 100 emotions while listening to it just to end up confused. Anyways, uhmmm what's up with that champagne on the window shield I-?! And Mr Byun being embarrassed for saying sex??? Man, stand up lmao. Ngl, I wish the MV gave a bit more, I also saw people mentioning Suju 😭😭😭😭🔫
So actually some of the past Exo tracks aren't for me, but this album is really sooooolid, it's definitely cohesive sonically, the r&b undertones, THE FUCKING HARMONIES HELLOOOOO EARGASM! But also thematically it's definitely an album made for horny people lmaoooo. I'd have to give it more listens to establish which songs stopd out to me the most, but so far I think Regret It and Private Party are my faves!
Kai is away so Baek is the one serving cunt now?! Who would have thought. Military made Taemin into a bigger baby girl, meanwhile Baek is whoring
Also, let me say I'm so proud of Shinee honestly and the way they can never believe whenever they win, because some fuckass people wanna claim Shinee isn't relevant anymore and they won INKIGAYO!!! TAEMIN DID S CLASS AND HARD CHALLENGE WITH HYUNJIN, HE WENT TO JYP????? Why is he so adventurous all of a sudden
Jamal astrology hoe, pls https://www.pinkvilla.com/entertainment/ncts-jaehyun-to-make-big-screen-debut-with-film-in-6-hours-you-will-die-alongside-park-ju-hyun-kwak-si-yang-1228441 this is the short description 👀 I need more kpop men in unhinged roles, like yeah them playing losers in rom coms is fine but give me something else
Hybe didn't even apologise for the way they treated fans, they justified their actions. Fans were still groped, wtf, sometimes the gender matters, but they were still violated so what difference does it make seriously
So, I'm sure if YSL was in contact with Hwa they'd already invite him somewhere :/ and he'd definitely thank them publicly, but his dedication to get noticed is admirable. Stop because first I saw those sandals on Ten and had to close my eyes and Seonghwa too... Hongjoong's obsession with Olivier Rousteing paid off so fingers crossed, ugh if not I'm personally going to Anthony Vacarello's house ☠
Re: N**m*r: Idk some girlies really love footballers, they have humiliation kink cause I know at least 3 WAG wannabies from London who do that, they don't care those men will cheat on them. They usually just wanna bang and go, lmao kinda respect the hustle, but is it even worth it with some of them... yikes
Omfg no because I saw the Suarez thing and was like HUH, then got confused why RM was posting about it 😭
Baek are you updated on King the Land, because the latest episodes?! They really went for it, it's so cliche idk how it even works, but it does! Do you remember Yoona and Junho dancing to Senorita, because that was an event!!! I also remembered Taeyong and Seulgi and WOW... imagine 4th gen idols doing that ajsvhshajskdavshsjdjd
Insane to think certain idols would be in totally different fields, like business, pilot, chef then tattoo artist, Twitch streamer lmao but here they are in the same fucking group doing aegyo and hip thrusting on stage
Yeah, so I obviously enjoy 4th gen, but 2nd and 3rd gen had the quality, now I see those Tik Tok fucking songs that are under 3 mins and I wanna die!!! Don't wanna be a boomer, easy and fun choreography can be cool, not only for fans to follow, but also idops to perform, but where is the versatility, the creativity...
Shhahdhndjshahhshaaj stop SM people are lurking cause that guy was quick to like Yuta's post?! 😬😬😬😬 and now there are articles about SM being xenophobic <333 like I said, embarrasSMENT... it's a shame they have so many artists I like, because they're literally the worst. And apparently Sungtaro are debuting soon, I will believe it when I see it. Really shitty that they remived Shohei, he's neither in NCT Tokyo nor the other bg :( man is a grown ass adult, let him debut!
Ryan is Ken for life because wtf is he saying?! Margot os serving so many iconic looks during the promo! Btw booked tickets for both Barbie and Oppenheimer on the same day lmaooo it's gonna be a fucking ride
You're right, KQ posted the "apology", not even Ateez's account??? And the apology was too vague imo, again if Indian/South Asian fans want to accept it that's their decision, I'm not saying people should cancel them and send then threats (it's happening and it's so bad), BUT some stans are ok with bare minimum, they just wanna move on... :/ that's what I told my friend, imagine if someone wrote a track called Kimchi Song, Asian people get so much shit for their native food, so it's incredibly insensitive. I don't wanna generalise, but I met so many Korean stans and while some were nice, some are simply crazy and lose their morals over kpop. On the other hand, one thing can tip them off, nothing serious and they can go from loving someone to sending them threats and???
It's a shame none of the members apologised, I like to think they wanted to, but idk. San posted on b.stage I thought he'd mention it, I understand it was his birthday, but... :/ I'm not usually personally affected by most of idols' fuck ups, but it always pisses me off regardless
Exo possible collabs??? Exo on Killing Voice, well they definitely fucking killed :o
Shinee, Teen Top, U-Kiss, Exo, Infinite, what year is this?! Remember when we would get so many 2nd/3rd gen ggs comebacks?! 2021 and 2022 😭😭😭😭
Baek, I got two tattoos during my trip and I already made appointments for two more, so pray for me lmao <333
Did you see model Hwa on the cover?! Sadly I don't have high hopes, because it's Cosmo and they usually have boring shoots, so far they look ok (but their clothes are basically their promo/stage fits? 😬) *sigh* - DV 💖
hello!! i answered this but tumblr glitched and wndfkklwef
We did it Baek, we beat the MATURE CONTENT allegations! just tells me that there’s a lot of incredible music but this talent is 😮💨
So actually some of the past Exo tracks aren't for me, but this album is really sooooolid, it's definitely cohesive sonically, the r&b undertones, THE FUCKING HARMONIES HELLOOOOO EARGASM! But also thematically it's definitely an album made for horny people lmaoooo. I'd have to give it more listens to establish which songs stopd out to me the most, but so far I think Regret It and Private Party are my faves!

Raw madness, that's what she'd thought she'd be facing when she'd first been tossed against the impenetrable walls of the Commandant's blades, her sky-piercing laughter and the lightning battling with fire in her ever-glowing eyes. She felt as though histories describing insanity were only poor attempts at finding tales to associate with her, ways to say 'see, and that is what she is, that is what she's like, mad, mad, mad and far too gone to ever see reason again'.
But much like history never does any of them justice, delegating them to minor roles in grand scheme of things they are losers and victors of both, perpetrators and catalysts, martyrs and saviours, much the same way did the whispers carrying Calista's name with reverent terror lack the heaviness of her presence in the world, the space she takes up with her booming voice alone, with the glint over her teeth and the wit in her eyes.
Because Calixtus Orion may be mad but the real danger lies in the intelligence, the soundness still pulsating away beneath the derangement glazed over her eyes. her movements are controlled even as she unleashes them onto her enemies with enough flourish to have left Sarang's mind spinning the first time they'd fought.
But Sarang hasn't come this far, climbed the ranks this violently, by not learning, by not knowing to never underestimate an enemy, to meet her head-on rather than the screams that gurgle her name out of pierced through and mounds of corpses that seem to spell out the likeness of her grin whenever she looks at it too closely.
No. To have any sort of chance against the Queen of the Night, she must actually think of her and her only.
And hasn't she done exactly that, for each free waking moment she could dedicate to replaying her movements in her inner eye as though hypnotised to never be able to look away, ever since they'd last fought? Hasn't her maniacal laughter bounced from eardrum to eardrum so often that to hear it now again cuts a shiver down her spine so sudden, she can't help but to grin in response, delighting hysterically in the goosebumps bursting across every centimeter of her skin, as though the lamia had already reached her and decided to ghost the tip of her blade against her arms?
The glint of gold bursting out of her shadow is nothing when compared to the madness in her eyes.
Sarang could have a million things to say in response to her, shout over the fray of war fought by others for her sake - and she too should be no more than a soldier, so why so desperate to get close, to get involved? - meet her laughter with derision of her own kind, spoken in short quips and raised eyebrows.
She could.
But she doesn't.
Because if she spoke and had her bow with her, if she had her voice, booming as she learned to make it, cut through metal on metal and the sizzling of magic, then Calista wouldn't need to get close.
That she would anyway is a given.
But why give her the opportunity to stay further away for longer than necessary?
Sarang can't grow callouses. Her fingers are still and perennially smooth against the hilt of her sword, continuously turned in her palm as though trying to still an itch, to ease the nervous drumming of her heart, or grow more accustomed to the weight of the blade in her hand.
But the smile cutting through her features like a hairpin gliding through silk-like hair, and the practiced, newfound ease with which she lifts her weapon to meet Calista's attack head-on, reveal what her eyes sing-song when they meet hers from up close.
She doesn't fear Calista.
If she decides to cut her back into mortality, good, may she try.
Her blood vibrates through her vessels with the white-hot fire of anticipation. Her heel dig into the ground beneath her, her muscles strain to hold her own against such unbridled raw power.
So much unguarded raw madness.
She allows her arms to relax just enough to have the Commander slip further into her personal space.
"You are full of empty promises, Commander," Sarang doesn't know what title she actually holds among her troops, what she demands they call them, but she doesn't really care. She'll use whatever tumbles past her lips first, just to make sure she doesn't accidentally say her name, accidentally voice it with the thrill it echoes inside her skull.
Calixtus Orion will not be the death of her.
But then again, she's never felt quite as alive as while fighting this war, and isn't feeling alive the closest thing she has to dying?
She's never been in a war of this size. That alone fuels her with the tension in muscles designed to always keep her ahead of a blade of a pair of quick eyes. She takes them out one by one with whatever is at her disposal, dwindling her numbers with the ease of someone who is only trying to figure out how many more she'll have to take out before she's done with her part of the project.
Walking with blood splattered on her frame, not a rip on her clothes, stolen from a man somewhat her size when the skirts demanded of her had become too much a hassle to opt for, not an ounce of damage on someone as efficient as her, as she'd carved through Calista's forces with the sole intent on finding a path directly to Her.
But the scales had never been tipped like this.
She's never fought against a woman as terribly angry as she is.
"You want my hunger?" She pushes her blade against Calista's, using the momentum for leverage to jump a few steps back, staying in her field of vision, twirling the blade in her hand, as though using it as a substitute for the wildly swaying tail of a wildcat battling against another for the prey either of them could be.
When women starve, they will start to bite.
And Sarang is being starved too often.
"You can have my hunger," low as she lowers her stance, as her smile slips off her lips, as she dives in.
Calista & Sarang.
THE GREAT WAR AGAINST THE WITCHES, THE BATTLE OF SIHEGE
For @MYTHVOICED ⬩ 07 OCTOBER 1845
"Well, well, well. Isn't it She with her little bow."
Her tone is condescending, her eyes, inhabited with fires from a thousand hells. The lamia is standing, strong, proud, at the top of the Hill of Sihege in the Valley in the east in Mongolia. Miles down her hill, the battle was still exploding, the swords, the spells of her soul eating creatures, her army of vampires and ghouls destroying, eating, exterminating under her command, following her anger like a prayer, worshpping it. She is the heart of the war, the core of this rage, the mind behind this insanity that have spread across the realms for fifty years already. Calixtus Orion. A name that was spoken, whispered in fear and hate as the creature was decimating both the World of the mortals and the World of the Underground. She had to be stopped, put down, judged and executed in order for the Worlds not to reach the point of non return Calista was, step by step, approaching. It was the reason why the Order of the Knights was sent, to chain her down. And oh, how amusing it was to the undefeated Queen of the Night. The leaves of the trees were chanting in a sky that was darkened with blood and doors wide opened on Hell. And the screams, and the fires were only fulling Calita's passion and insanity. In front of her, that archer again, The Huntress. It was their second time facing each other in this canvas of terror. A wind made of desolation and ashes was blowing as Calista's white hair tainted with the blood of her enemies was floating under the rising moon.
"I cannot have One massacre for myself, now can I? You and your little troup of minnesingers have already lost against me and my ghouls. What do you want then, you Irrational Little Being? Another round of my blood spilled against your skin? Oh...? " Her head mechanically bend to the side, like a robotic doll from a cursed heaven on a background of flames, her pupils sparkling in madness in the anticipation of fighting the Knight again.
"HAHAHAHAHAHA.
IS THAT WHAT YOU WANT? FOR ME TO DESTROY YOUR BODY AND SOUL BACK INTO MORTALITY HUH?"
The lamia shouts, her eyes widening in mania as her dark blood is pumping through her veins. If it was infuriating, for the Order to constantly come and ruin her battles, she however knew they would send their most talented soldier to face her, over and over, again and again until Calista teaches her the right lesson. Their first battle have been a revigoration for the lamia, one that however ended in a tie in between her and the Huntress, both immortals enable to die under each other's sword. An inconvenience Calista was willing to work on to change.
"You do have talent, Archer. A Wasted talent, being on the wrong side of History, don't you think? If your wish is to perish under my sword however, it's nothing I will ever go against. Mmmm I've never been so hungry Ohhh I will eat you alive." The lamia then adds, deranged eyes fixating her prey, her tongue sticking out, licking over her fangs like the beast she is.
Speed. The lamia was a beast indeed, of both cruelty and elegance, and speed was one of her many abilities. In two steps, she runs through the grass and the dirt, her frame like a sharp blade cutting through the air, the fabrics of her Commandant apparel made of black and red velvet is floating around her limbs. Like a manic dancer, her hand extends as she spread her fingers and her palms firmly wrap around the handle of a sword that takes shape out of her own shadow. Acerola. Her legendary blade made of gold and forged in Hephaestus fires that becomes the lamia's arm extension. And she slams it, at full force, at full speed against the Huntress's blade. Their faces, only separated by a inch now, the lamia's red and golden eyes linking with the other's, eyes of thirst for blood and power, eyes filled with unstability and yet fascination for the only being who made it far enough to get a taste of her blood. "TELL ME YOU MISSED ME!" She speaks n a deranged tone, her teeth greeted, pressed into a wide grin.
"SHOW ME YOUR HUNGER!"

You know, I would like to say so much, but at the same time I have no words...
I'm stunned by how painful it all was.
I'm already broken from some small passages.
I can't imagine what it was like to watch it live and then edit it, post something here or somewhere else, so firstly, thank you all for, once again, demonstrating how talented you are and how you can find the strength to create even in theseconditions.
It's not that we didn't anticipate/know what might happen, but most likely no one expected it to be so massively disruptive.
The whole episode is apparently steeped in all the pain, the pain for how it's messed up, the pain for our beloved Jughead Jones, the pain for the relationships.
The most painful thing is that these people who wrote this story, who turned it all out this way, probably understand, or not really, how unpleasant it is for us to see this fallout.
And let's be honest, the fallout of the character, who has been being developed for all 4 seasons, his diving into his uncertainty, self-doubt, lonelyness, vulnerability.
He had long been self-confident, strong, happy, able to endure many things, even a deadly state, which even was not the most terrible, it was not so painful as this mental torment.
The most painful thing is to watch everything positive things in his life, his growth, and then watch it all collapse in an instant.
It's just as illogical as the way they destroyed Betty's character, especially strange now to take a break on such a sad note and come back with a different Riverdale, not the one that it was before.
With other plot, without aknoledging what has been happening with the people, with Jughead, with Betty, how were they living through all these years.
Especially considering that this is the second time they have brought Jughead to that dead end, and it would seem that this should be the end.
However, all this mess and the pain that people are feeling once again confirms that the main character is not a red-haired Judas Archie, but Jughead Jones, a simple poor boy, with a romantic writer's nature, sincere and dedicated to the people around hima and his hobbie/work.
All this once again confirms that he deserves MUCH more, deserves true happiness, rest, peace of mind.
All this also again confirms how good Cole is as an actor and as amazing as it is, the most difficult, heart-breaking scenes come out with him just delightfully.
He and his character are what's been dragging this show up lately.
Because it is deep, real, vital, there are common problems which nowadays people try to keep silent about.
This, Jughead's fate, is the only genius part in this show, and I'm insanely grateful that this Cole is the man who was chosen for this role, really.
I'm so used to this image and how it all comes out that I wouldn't be able to imagine anyone else on a par with it.
And I don't deny that some of the others were also good apparently.
There is also something else that has a rather deep sense, potential, which also plays a significant role in this.
And as much as we don't want to accept it, as much as we hate the writers and the plot, this time it's really painfully well reflected, looped.
And as long as something revolves around it, as long as all the dynamics, even if not very pleasant, wchich may make us cry in the corner of the room, are going on, people will probably watch, stay touched, with pure emotions, with hope for the final good outcome.
I hope that the fact that we experienced this emotional roller coaster, will make up for us in the future.
And I hope that the writers will be at least a little bit smart, so as not to repeat this shit again, going back to playing their relentless hurdy-gurdy, the ballad of the loser, the outsider Jughead Jones, breaking our hearts, that they will find at least a drop of courage in themselves, so that they finally, after so many years of torment and putting everything on the shoulders of 1-2 characters, will distribute the right things in the right direction.

The Last Picture Show
I can still remember snippets of watching Anita Hill and Clarence Thomas testify 27 years ago. At the time, Hill’s stoicism under fire was impressive. She didn’t devolve into a puddle of tears, but held her own under fire. Thomas’ scorched-earth response, “a high-tech lynching,” was his only way out. The rest is history.
The reopened hearing for Brett Kavanaugh, on the other hand, happened at a different time in history, a time when a confluence of influence created the worst possible moment to discern the hearing’s putative goal, to determine whether Kavanaugh, as a teen, sexually assault Christine Blasey Ford. Not only was Kavanaugh feared as the justice who was hated as he would “cause women to die,” a nominee of a president who was “literally Hitler,” but at the junction of #MeToo and a national need for emotional catharsis.
The hearing was a botch, as anyone who wasn’t married to the mob knew it would be. The “scary sex prosecutor” questioning Ford was a dud, scoring no points and floundering through the examination with no discernible purpose. In fairness, the mechanics of five minutes of question, following by a Democratic senator giving a speech about beatification, wasn’t conducive to meaningful questioning, but it was still Rachel Mitchell’s job to find a way to make it happen. She didn’t.
Notably, Mitchell was unceremoniously jettisoned in the second half of the hearing when Sen. Lindsay Graham came out on fire, attacking the attack on Kavanaugh. How that could be, after having ceded his time to Mitchell, remains a mystery of politics.
And politics it was, in its most perfect, and thus most horrible form. What’s shocking about this is the depth of naivete on both sides of the question. Or perhaps rather than naivete, delusion. Not only have we failed to mature sufficiently as a nation to grasp that our reliance on a universe of excuses is ineffective to convince anyone who isn’t already inclined to agree with us, but there is no skepticism at all.
The hearing was a show. It was put on for the benefit of public consumption by the groundlings, choreographed by its respective teams. And the unduly passionate of both sides ate it up, believing this melodrama was real. Every tear was their tear, every pain was their pain, and the teams mustered their most mindless passion in support of their hero or heroine. If ever people proved themselves undeserving of the respect of reality, it was the reaction to this hearing.
There was neither winner nor loser, nor was there any chance there would be. Neither side was taking any chances their lead actor would blow the game, and each played their role with the dedication that would make Oscar smile. Wait, you say. This wasn’t just spontaneous displays of raw, totally justified human emotion happening right before our eyes? Grow up.*
This doesn’t make either witness a liar or insincere, but if for a moment you think this dance wasn’t completely choreographed, you’re deluded. Nothing was left to chance. Nor should it have been. To have done any less would have been insane and incompetent. To not realize this, however, is childlike. We are a nation of blubbering fools, believing what they put on the TV screen is real.
Did it work? The question for the senators was whether the hearing gave any Republican cover to back off confirmation of Kavanaugh. The question for the public was whether their side’s tears were saltier than the other side’s tears. The American Bar Association backed off its endorsement of Kavanaugh, to whom it gave a “well qualified,” but that moves no one. Editorial pages sided where they usually side. Nick Gillespie at Reason asked the question that no show hearing would answer,
We know where political partisans stand, but what about the rest of us who do not identify primarily in partisan terms? The latest Gallup poll on party identification finds just 26 percent of us identifying as Republican and 27 percent as Democratic. Forty-four percent call ourselves independent, a near-record high.
But there is a different problem, raised in the switch in time of American Magazine, which had supported the Kavanaugh confirmation before. Now, it does not.
What is different this time is that this nomination battle is no longer purely about predicting the likely outcome of Judge Kavanaugh’s vote on the court. It now involves the symbolic meaning of his nomination and confirmation in the #MeToo era. The hearings and the committee’s deliberations are now also a bellwether of the way the country treats women when their reports of harassment, assault and abuse threaten to derail the careers of powerful men.
While acknowledging that this hearing was no substitute for an adjudication of the allegations of sexual assault, they nonetheless recognize that it’s no longer about a judicial nomination either.
If this were a question of establishing Judge Kavanaugh’s legal or moral responsibility for the assault described by Dr. Blasey, then far more stringent standards of proof would apply. His presumption of innocence might settle the matter in his favor, absent further investigation and new evidence. But the question is not solely about Judge Kavanaugh’s responsibility, nor is it any longer primarily about his qualifications. Rather it is about the prudence of his nomination and potential confirmation. In addition to being a fight over policy issues, which it already was, his nomination has also become a referendum on how to address allegations of sexual assault.
Should this be a referendum on how to address allegations of sexual assault? If so, then should the answer not be that accusations be brought to the appropriate forum, the legal system, where they can be treated seriously and decided as effectively as we can? Apparently not. We’ve abandoned the means by which society has established must be used to decide such questions.
Who knows where those who call themselves “independent” stand anymore. The discourse has become so convoluted, so filled with emotionalism and rationalization, that we’re overcome with vehement cries of outrage from the passionate from both sides.
The television show was a winner, “entrancing” as a law prof said, capturing a nation’s need to vent its feelings. There is no place anymore for dispassionate thinking. Maybe it no longer matters whose on the Supreme Court, as no one will be persuaded by its opinions anyway. The battle has been joined and the tears won, no matter which side you’re on.
youtube
*I made the terrible mistake on the twitters of offering the banal observation that Ford was weepy through her opening statement (although she managed to make it through her testimony without a tear), which was surprising if it was tactical (and surely her lawyers fully prepped her on how to effectively deliver her prepared script).
I was wrong not to realize how hot passions were running, but the reactions reflect not merely the depth of tribalistic disagreement, or even the inclination to impute the worst possible motive, but the compulsion to attack as if a twit was the end of the world.

Division Resolves, the center cannot hold: The Core of the Core/יסוד שביסוד
To wit: the pop cartoon medium begins with the inversion of the reigning narrative: whereas in traditional myth, the triumphant king was the hero and the inauthentic pretender the villain, much of the pop hope of populist Rome was the inauthentic pretender genuinely aspiring to fix a problem in the seat of royalty. The small loser who ascends to criticize the crown is the main hero, to the degree that mafia crime lords are the face of the crown acceptable to vilify. This is much of the contrast between He-man and She-ra, one from the perfect world ruled by the good royalty, threatened by the wicked warlord, the other in a universe ruled by Evil Horde, the rebels seated as heroic resistance for the human and virtuous. Tipheret(netzach) = Eternia and Yesod(hod) = Etheria
This is the difference between the Hero on the Level of Tipheret and the Hero on the level of Yesod: how much closer they are to the real. The Tzaddik is defined partially by his failures (hod) against which he does not stop strugging (netzach). Does not stop is the main virtue of the hero-tzaddik, what defines him/her as functionally divine.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_f2J4ceCikI -------------
A thoroughly justified hero, whose struggle and the awesomeness in it aspires to a wholeness of sympathy unavailable in most of the purer heroes is exemplified in X-men’s Logan, the Wolverine. How great and terrible to be Wolverine! Unkillable and unconsoleable, beloved and beheaded, what a nice guy! What a respectable sense of values! Noble and oppressed, practical and invincible. Scrappy and civil beyond civil but totally uncivilized, he is the savage fantasy that really represents the finer aspirations of Tribalism. And this is reflected in Willingham’s Fables. Bigby Wolf is Wolverine, and that’s all the virtues that make wolverines so meaningful, including eternal puppy-hood, and defense of the clan.
Contrast this with the decadent Protestant grace of Batman, the commander of a different kind of clan, with utterly different relationship to responsibility. Who is Batman protecting? Strangers, “innocent” and guilty alike. Batman, touched by the tragedy that wiped out those closest to him, tends not to play favorites in the defense game, identifying the danger that struck those closest to him as utterly impersonal, a sociological abstract trouble that can hit anyone, and/or hits Everyone. Stopping the mugger and fighting the alien invasion are utterly equated in terms of his dedication to Helping, and the only ones he seems to hold to any higher standard are those closest to him, protecting them very little, choosing instead to train and challenge them viciously, to become little psuedo bat-people, turning the tide of the world away from the savagery that kills.
Batman is not meant to be the reluctant head of a Justice League, no matter what a great strategist he is: he hates clubbing. Circumstance may force him into the role, especially in a foundational context (Yesod) but he will eschew it as soon as he can, at least at this stage of the charachter’s development. Wolverine struggles to take any pleasure out of his existence that he can, and smiles any chance he gets, warmly, not even spitting out the blood in his mouth. With Batman it's the opposite: he has infinite opportunity to just enjoy life, and he's constantly putting that aside in order to focus on the mission(s). Both of these principles find their exceptionalism and tempering in the translation of both characters into both classic and supermodern Cartoon adaptations, and in the recent contrasting works that Grant Morrison's has done involving both characters, in what was briefly syncretized as their ultimate forms.
Morrison's X-men run was one of the most shocking transformations of classic Comic archetypes into more realized narrative figures in pop-comic history. His Batman work was been similar in radical aspiration, though much more accountable to the celebrated ways that Batman has already been successfully defined and redefined in modern popular culture. But really, Wolverine might suffer from a similar, though less eponymous definititude: the Fox cartoon of the middle nineties established the character for many of us, and the success of the first two X-men films (and even the failures of the last two) made the character relatively iconic, but still less universally pictured and iconized than Batman, who graces the halls of everywhere, and is known by All Kids, and All Adults. Why? Because Wolverine is inherently a more terrifying concept character.
The Big Bad Wolf on the side of the struggling minorities is no less a socially threatening reminder of the savage competitive chaos of Our observed world than when he was the bad guy we prayed for a hunter to come and put down. Rather the opposite, in our environmentally sensitive post-post-post modern era, he's reminder of how noble the savage can be, and all the more problematic for a civilization that still can't quite come to terms with how to deal with our ambivalent appreciation for everything we've done, do, and have to do to “get by.” Batman is much cleaner. He rarely kills anybody, and when he does, it's only the most unmistakably problematic of chaotic forces. And even then, most Batmythology has him defending the rights and lives of the insane super-criminals he's fighting, as much as anyone else's. Tim Burton's vengeful aberration was apparently not forgotten as the rough angry crazy of Zach Snyder's perception misunderstands the strange self-righteous-decadence of the Nolan films. The subtler levels of weird courtesy as initiation-into-nobility-for-kids is best offset with a sort of pious impatience for disingenuous veiling or responsibility, often dovetailing into more overt play/sex/recreation metaphor as in the 60's pop-art demi-psychedelic version and the later-day creatively inspired pastiche-core cartoon Batman: The Brave and the Bold. Here is where Morrison's influence might be most conspicuous, although only retroactively, and perhaps invertedly; in the infinite wake of Morrison’s building on the Alan Moore discoveries. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alan_Moore%27s_The_Courtyard#Plot_summary
To define: the Ultimate version of a character is inferred from the best and most resonant of all their appearances, and defined in part by their most obscure and peripheral stories. This is part of what Alan Moore defines in passing as “Anomaly Theory,” secretly much of the backdrop of his integrative relationship to mythic characters, as elaborated in his later work from Supreme to League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. The unusual version, rejected and willfully resisted version of a charachter actually describes an actual aspect of that charachter, and our resistance to the interpretation describes our resistance to the reality or even truth expressed in that use of the charachter. This is much of my contempt for the Christopher Nolan Batman films: I really don’t like the neo-fascist romance that can emerge as part of why “kids” love Batman. But this is why satires of this model, from the Simpsons’s Monty Burns playing Super-hero for his own self indulgence, to Grant Morrison’s inversion of the Batman/Superman dynamic in his Action Comics conflict between a-now overtly socialism Superman and a dissappointingly conservative Batman (”You’re a Snoop!) Exceptions only define rules when met with the contrasting rejection-satire. Even parodies must be integrated, as in the adaptation of Batboy and Rubbin on Brave and the Bold. Grant Morrison’s Wolverine was also defined, in large part, by his almost total altruistic self control. He is able to refuse Jean Grey's romantic advances early on in New-X-Men, and is able to kill her, for her own sake, despite it certainly being the thing he'd rather do least at that point. He can give his all or hold back anything, according to his familial priorities. This Wolverine is the one that survives into Wolverine and The X-men, the best animated X-men effort to ever come down the wire, to at last lead at the trusted head of the team, the family. Similarly in Jason Aaron’s Wolverine and The X-men comic, where Wolverine is the defacto headmaster of the Xavier school, once Cyclops falls from grace, and only Logan has the priorities in order enough to continue the educational work that X-men was built on.
The contrast with the later, and “Ultimate” versions of Logan in the last of the Hugh Jackman films is telling, of course. As popular personal expression of the moral changes, so does the nature of the tragedy, and in this shift we can see a range of the redefinition of the Righteous, as willfully expressed in the dynamic between Jackman’s Wolverine and Patrick Stewart’s Xavier, here at the end of things. Their meaning is bound up in their end, their punchline, and similarly is Yesod an expression of, not only Tipheret or Daat, but actually the purest and highest priority in the original pure will. This is so much why some adaptations of Super-Heroes Tragedies are So Weird and irritatingly dissonant: they’re trying to push meaning forwards, because of where they are at, the producers or directors or whoever. they’re trying to be true to a personal clarity, and it affects both the purity of their adaptation and the future nature of a given character. Note: at the end, he is still in service of The Mutant Children. Even as he dies to protect them, because part of the emerging moral in James Mangold’s Logan is the futility of survival, and the End of Nature through State and Science in cruel controlling covenant. That’s just where we’re at nowadays, it seems, and any later version of Logan/Wolverine to emerge will engage this tension, just by dint of existing differently. Why kill off Wolverine, who, traditionally, needs to die less than most charachters? This is ultimately his ascention from the lunar or martial into the solar and perfected, martyred into total virtue. Only in death are heroes really trustworthy, otherwise they might fail you again, at any time, a moral limitation unelaborated in many of the least popular hero narratives, notably, again, Batman vs. Superman. The depth and trouble in Zach Snyder’s Superman adaptation will be elaborated soon enough.
In summation: Heroes and G-d must be confused: One is only experienced through the other, the truest G-d is unavailable except for the nice people who care about the absent virtue, and fix reality accordingly.

Democrats Accusing Russia of Cyber Breach is No Joke
As a lifelong Democrat but moreover a dedicated advocate for protecting our Constitutional due process protections, I feel strongly that it’s important to speak out against the childish, insanity being advocated by certain establishment leaders on both the right and the left, that seem to be driven by childish frustrations over the results of our Presidential election.
On the extreme left we have essentially a bunch of sore losers that can’t seem to accept that their campaign was fatally flawed in its assumption that the great “unwashed” “deployables” couldn’t find their local polling booths on election day and that the issues of real concern to Americans are not jobs and their future but whether the candidate meets the “civilized” person test derived from the cultural elite class; (for a complete assessment read my previous blog). And, on the right, we have a cadre of disgruntled establishment Republicans that pre-election wrote off Trump but now find themselves searching for relevance.
The three key Republicans that most quickly come to mind are Mitt Romney, John McCain and Lindsay Graham. The first recognized his self-righteous nonsense didn’t have any legs, except with the Democratic Party’s limousine liberals and religious zealots, and consequently groveled his way back to relevance over golf and dinner. He has now properly vanished back to political obscurity.
The latter two however have decided to double down and join some immature Democrats in engaging in old school, nonsense politics that puts the whole country at risk. (It’s always helpful to have context so let’s not forget that Lindsay Graham was one of the lead House Members to advocate and prosecute, then President Bill Clinton for having oral sex in the oval office – so clearly he’s a serious guy. And of course we have John McCain whose most important public policy decision was to select Sarah Palin as his candidate for Vice President – so clearly he has ace judgment as well; but alas I would be amiss if I didn’t also remind of McCain’s public corruption troubles stemming from the Keating five which he wiggled his way out of prosecution and imprisonment. (back then that was just how DC business got done..)
So what is the situation as it seems to be becoming more dire every day? Well apparently the CIA and now after much cajoling, the FBI and other US government agencies have concluded that Russia was likely behind the hacking into private email servers and disclosure of embarrassing emails that occurred during the presidential campaign. The timing and manner of this announcement is without a doubt peculiar but let’s just assume for argument’s sake that the allegations are true: Russia hacked the servers and released private emails that embarrassed people and showed that one candidate seemed to be speaking out of both sides of her mouth. Unfortunately the leaked emails matched the public’s long standing opinion of the candidate and may have in turn done some real damage to her message and campaign. (However let’s insert some fact checking – the day before the WikiLeaks disclosures came out, Hillary’s polling numbers were slightly lower than the actual votes she later received. Thus at best it can only be argued that the release of the information may have impeded her ability to turn undecided voters. However to suggest that anyone was truly undecided about Hillary Clinton at this point in time is speculative at best and most likely just hopeful nonsense.)
Irrespective of the “damage” disclosure caused, there is another level of review that is critical to a fair evaluation. That is simply whether the information was true or false. It appears the disclosed information was true, albeit private. In fact, the accuracy of the emails was never denied. (To be fair, they were also not confirmed, and as an aside for those political junkies out there: it’s a bit uncanny how team Clinton’s response was exactly the same approach that Anthony Weiner attempted in response to questions about whether pictures of a certain member’s “member” were accurate.. Can anyone say “Huma..”.)
Now that we have clarified that the great horror of the election of 2012 was twofold. First, that private emails were leaked that showed one candidate’s private conversations didn’t exactly match her public rhetoric and in fact that the Democratic Party may have taken sides in a primary contest; and the second horror is that the Russians engage in cyber espionage.
One embedded assumption in all of this anger and calls for “retaliation” is that the Russians favored Donald Trump over Hillary Clinton as President. (This is something I’ve found quite interesting as I have yet to have the question answered as to why the Russians would prefer an unpredictable, potentially unstable and irrational leader to one that they have great experience with and is completely predictable in her foreign policy views and responses.)
But back to the first impending catastrophe. We now find ourselves at the Electoral College phase of the election. Typically an irrelevant phase, but because of the catastrophic election results, if you ask certain Democrat members of the Electoral College (and what is truly unfortunate, the Clinton campaign) they apparently think we need to redo the election in the House of Representatives. (I’m not quite sure how they see it happening, but I’m sure there’s some back room discussed nutty plan of how this will lead to Hillary winning the Presidency.) Apparently they don’t think this would look like a coup by a bunch of cultural elitists, so they must be the same strategists that performed Hillary’s campaign polling. The reality is pretty straightforward, it’s just stupid. There is no basis in fact or history that would suggest that the electorate ever would foresee that the electors were not bound and thus it would clearly violate due process in every regard imaginable for them to change the electoral outcome.
The Clinton campaign lost and we Democrats need to get over it and move on. The dynasty is over and its time we re-read the tea leaves and saw that people want their leaders to work hard and get results. They don’t need their leaders to be angels and role models, (is Bill Clinton really who you want your daughter to marry?) they just want their leaders to talk straight to them and make sure opportunity is available to anyone willing to work hard to achieve it. (Basically Bill Clinton’s campaign slogan in ’92). We need to stop decision-making based on the identity of a person and base it on the content of character and intellect. It’s time our message returned to an inclusive message of opportunity; not a message premised on amassing different factions against a common enemy.
It may be hard for some to swallow, but now is the time to wish Donald Trump the best of luck and hope that his administration and all of Congress can work together to solve the common problem of a dying middle class and structural unemployment for decades to come. When the time to disagree comes, and it will, then will be the time to disagree on the solution and offer better ones – not continue this nonsense of character assassination and labeling. This campaigning against one’s “fitness” to lead started with Lee Atwater, was perfected by the Clinton machine and was eagerly adopted by both parties ever after.
However we need to return, or go to, for that matter, a place where the substance of our discussions is debated, not the author of divergent opinions simply muddied and discredited. It’s not too late my fellow Democrats to get serious, but it is approaching a dangerous point. We cannot have a political system where the process is ever tainted by the participants. We must return, or demand for the first time, that our Presidential candidates and opposition party understand that they must be better than just caring about winning – that at the end of the political match – the sides must agree the process worked. Was the process fair? What in life is fair? It’s time to stop acting like children and move on.
Now a quick word on Harry Reid, certain Democrats and the mavericks, McCain and Graham, and their nonsensical attacks against Rex Tillerson and other Cabinet nominees. Senators you apparently can’t stand being out of the spotlight so you decided to out Trump Donald Trump when it comes to over the top statements; but you apparently don’t have his backbone when it comes to the final assessment. You have basically said that certain nominees shouldn’t be confirmed because of “ties”, “relationships” to Russia and other wimpy buzzwords. However, what you are really saying is these people can’t be trusted not to be spies for the Russians or use their positions to make their previous companies more money. That’s the bottom line of your nonsense and it is simply abhorrent in its anti-capitalist underpinnings but moreover just stupid.
However it does comport to the destructive approach that runs through Harry Reid’s tenure in the Senate and can be boiled down to one simple sentence: He was such an intellectual lightweight that he changed the rules of the Senate to get legislation passed, but was such a fool in the way he did it, that he perverted the Senate rules and left the Senate no longer needing to be a place of collegiality, but simply a dangerous twin to the House: where the minority party has little power. His stewardship then put his own Party into that helpless minority that is now little more influential than an advisory board. Good job Harry, hope retirement goes better than your performance in the Senate.
Now, what do we do about the Russians? Well if you listen to Harry, or Lindsay Graham or John McCain or some other childish officials, then you are hearing that the Russians and even Putin need to pay for what they did. Ok great, let’s make them pay. What should we do? I keep hearing that we need hearings to find out, but what do we want to find out? The truth is the Russians didn’t hack into the vote tabulation for our presidential election. The reason they didn’t, isn’t very inspiring. The reason is because our voting machines and systems are so antiquated that they aren’t online. So guess what, our unwillingness to spend money on new voting technology that would protect our democracy; has wound up protecting our democracy.
This indirectly alludes to the bigger question. What should we do to retaliate against the Russians for apparently hacking into private servers? And apparently they also sent malware to our Defense department and cost us a bit in new computers and servers as a result. So what do we do? Do we issue an arrest warrant for Putin? He would surely get a chuckle out of that. Do we launch a nuclear attack? Hopefully not. The sad answer is we don’t have much we can do. Worst of all there is nothing we can do publically, that would make any logical sense.
The situation is pretty clear to anyone who wants to be thoughtful. When it comes to conventional and nuclear warfare we are superior to all, by leaps and bounds. However when it comes to cyber warfare, we are pretty good. The simple fact is many other countries – especially our enemies are equal or better – they simply do not have freedom for their citizens. The consequence is their best and brightest tech people are not designing apps to maintain our standard of leisure, but rather they are working for the government (often whether they want to or not) at cyber warfare.
So what do all of the arm chair cyber-warriors want to do? Start a cyber war? Well that may work, but we may want to take all our financial institutions, electric grids, safety personnel and every other critical component to our civilization off-line before we start. Of course we could also go with sanctions and other threats. Unfortunately, we tried sanctions and threats with Iran. But at the end of the day, when you speak with people in the know, they hit us a few times with cyber warfare and all of a sudden we decided that signing a peace deal was a better idea. We apparently preferred their scientists spent their time on developing nuclear energy” rather than new viruses.
The bottom line is the Russians unfortunately seems to have had some fun with our election. Unfortunately it seems like the same type of “fun” that our intelligence community has probably engaged in a few times themselves, if not a lot worse, in a lot of countries.
So if this is the case, why are two hawks like Graham and McCain so out and about? Well it goes back to relevance but unfortunately it also goes to a more offensive reason as well – which normally means the old adage, “follow the money” is involved.
When Dwight Eisenhower left office he warned in stark terms about the emergence of an industrial military complex that would feed upon itself and grow. That complex has grown and has been unstoppable due to its patron’s in Congress like Graham and McCain, and they have each benefited from their largess to defense contractors. Not only did they pick the wrong horse in the Presidential race, but they are being told that their golden goose – the military procurement process – is going to be revamped so we stop paying absurd prices for shiny toys that don’t arrive on time and on budget. There is a lot a Senator will put up with, but messing with his campaign funding, meal ticket just isn’t one of them.
What has become abundantly clear in this campaign and election is that we are facing a critical time for our nation. Unfortunately what makes it so critical is not the inhabitant of the White House (we’ve had some real doozies throughout our history; but because of due process and our Constitutional structure, the union has endured). But what is making this a critical time is unfortunately that our very system of democracy is being undercut by the very people that profess to believe in it, and why? Because a candidate lost. Why are our elected leaders foaming at the mouth with public outcries and demands to make Russia pay – hopefully not to start a war that no thoughtful American would ever want to start, so why? Because a candidate lost and apparently our Party forgot how to lose.
So my advice to my fellow Democrats: let Trump take on his own party’s sold out establishment and use it for our country’s advantage. Let’s finally get our out of control military industrial complex spending reigned in and reinvest it into our infrastructure. And when Trump’s wrong – correct him on policy and prove our solutions are better than theirs.
Shouting Democrats are better, smarter and more intellectual hasn’t been such a winning argument, and until the cultural elite class becomes the majority, it isn’t going to get any better. The best politics has always been good policy. So let’s get to work already.

Democrats Risk Cyberwar with Russia
As a lifelong Democrat but moreover a dedicated advocate for protecting our Constitutional due process protections, I feel strongly that it’s important to speak out against the childish, insanity being advocated by certain establishment leaders on both the right and the left, that seem to be driven by childish frustrations over the results of our Presidential election.
On the left we have essentially a bunch of sore losers that can’t seem to accept that their campaign was fatally flawed in its assumption that the great “unwashed” “deployables” couldn’t find their local polling booths on election day and that the issues of real concern to Americans are not jobs and their future but whether the candidate meets the “civilized” person test derived from the cultural elite class; (for a complete assessment read my previous blog).
First, that private emails were leaked that showed one candidate’s private conversations didn’t exactly match her public rhetoric and in fact that the Democratic Party may have taken sides in a primary contest; and the second horror is that the Russians (for argument’s sake at least) engage in cyber espionage.
(I’m not quite sure how they see it happening, but I’m sure there’s some back room discussed nutty plan of how this will lead to Hillary winning the Presidency.)
Apparently they don’t think this would look like a coup by a bunch of cultural elitists, so they must be the same strategists that performed Hillary’s campaign polling. The reality is pretty straightforward, it’s just stupid. There is no basis in fact or history that would suggest that the electorate ever would foresee that the electors were not bound and thus it would clearly violate due process in every regard imaginable for them to change the electoral outcome.
The Clinton campaign lost and the Democrats need to get over it and move on.
You have basically said that certain nominees shouldn’t be confirmed because of “ties”, “relationships” to Russia and other wimpy buzz words. However, what you are really saying is these people can’t be trusted not to be spies for the Russians or use their positions to make their previous companies more money. That’s the bottom line of your nonsense and it is simply abhorrent in its anti-capitalism underpinnings but moreover just stupid.
