if you could add the werehog to one game he wasn't in, which one would it be and why?

this isnt even a game i would consider one of my favorites but honestly sonic generations is the big one coming to mind right now. because if they were to bring the werehog back for just One game id like for it to be done in a way that makes sense for the story being told/the gimmick of the game and out of all my already existing options i think the one where the whole deal is celebrating sonics history and revisiting past games would be a good fit . and i dont think this hypothetical version of the game should be heavily werehog focused since its meant to be celebrating the series as a whole and too much unleashed stuff might feel weird/out of place but maybe they could make it where the time eater thing allows sonic to use some old one-off abilities associated with certain games and werehog is one of them . like maybe rooftop run act 2 is a nighttime stage now . idk if thats a good idea im just talking here

also i think it would be fun to get to see more of sonics friends interact with him as a werehog and sonic generations has a lot of characters in it

SO!! my dad is still quite present in my life, he never left (him and my mom did divorce though i was very young when that happened and it was a smoother process than expected)

i dont technically live with him anymore (he still has custody over me, i just dont usually stay with him) because that environment was just quite uncomfortable to be around.

basically, my dads wife and her children did not treat me the greatest, and her mental issues and how she took them out on us (frequent yelling and unnecessary amounts of telling off, it got quite loud there to the point where i had to blast music ON A CALL WITH MY FRIEND to drown it out) as well as her general sort of asshole behavior was not a good place for me to be in, ESPECIALLY as a teenager who already had enough going on. her kids are just kind of crappy and a wee bit spoiled but they are children so i dont blame them. i just dont like being around them very much.

he didnt leave at all, i was the one who left. i left by choice around february of last year, and have only had occasional visits for holidays. i still keep in touch with my dad through texting though! i still miss living with him dearly, but i feel like neither i nor that household are in a stable enough place to go back.

my general position on public nuisance is "you should do your best not to irritate or inconvenience other people unless there's a good reason" and then litigate the "good reason" on a case by case basis. i think that's the best anyone can do. the definition of "good reason" varies wildly depending on context, your background, culture generally, what data you have as a participant or a bystander, and local laws, and all three of these things are relevant factors

for example it really does lower my level of reactive, irritable stress with my neighbors to know their names and general schedules. i don't know why but it really does bother you less if Kyle Upstairs is having a party a little too late and you can hear Bulletproof through the ceiling, as opposed to if you're on year three of living underneath some anonymous fuckhead you want to kill. it's like oh Kyle's cousin is visiting and they're just chilling out maybe they lost track of the time. this makes all the difference. as usual the best advice is to form community with the people around you no matter what, even if you are entirely self-interested it will benefit you in the end. well that's all I got

I feel like "a fear of" isn't a super accurate way to describe a phobia.

Like. Just speaking as me here, I have fears, and I have phobias.

I am afraid of falling off of something tall. I am afraid of getting lost in the woods. I can do these things! I can climb things and go on hikes! I am able to take precautions and handle these things head-on, I just avoid thinking about the worst case scenario.

I have a phobia of spiders. I have phobia of needles. I am perfectly aware that these things are not likely to harm me in the context of my current lifestyle. I don't hate either. Objectively, I even think most spiders are kind of cute. But when these things are around me, my amygdala responds as though I am in mortal peril, and no amount of logic or reason can turn it off.

Sort of like an allergy, I think- Anaphylaxis is reacting like you're dying because you encountered something and your body thinks it's gonna kill you.

A Phobia is your brain reacting like you're dying because you encountered something it thinks is gonna kill you.

In my experience, my conciousness doesn't really get a say in the matter, but once I learned that it's my fear reaction I hate and not the thing itself, I eventually was able to just.... calmly, rationally, sit back and hyperventilate

Jason visibly recoils at that. The painful reminder of both of your fragile morality is not one he wants to think about, or for his case, remember. 

You keep going, though your words come out slow, hesitant and soft.

“I want…I want to let you know that I love you. A lot. More than what I know what to do with.” 

“Baby—” Jason’s voice falters, and he drops his head, shaking it.

What is he supposed to say to that? It feels as if you’ve taken a sledgehammer to his chest and cleaved it in two. You’re not breaking up with him. You’re not screaming that you hate him. But why does this feel worse than those two combined? 

Jason swallows thickly, feeling the burn of the rope chafing against his wrists, and the blood leaking down his temple is hot and thick.

“And,” your voice begins to shake, “I don’t wanna die without telling you—” 

“I know,” Jason cuts in, a sense of helplessness clawing inside his chest. Bringing his gaze back up to you, he says in a softer tone.

“I know, sweetheart.” 

You purse your lips together, willing the burn in the back of your eyes to fade away. The desolate cell around you both feels like a cage. Mildew clings to the stale air. The coppery scent of blood lingers in your nose. How many people have died here?

Jason’s heart is rampaging against his ribcage, like a frightened bird violently beating its wings and desperate to be freed. 

He says your name firmly, and you lift your head from where you’d been staring at the floor; the tiles are cracked, dried blood stains the grout lines black-red.

Your eyes are bright, watery in the dim light. It sends Jason’s stomach churning with dread. 

“We’re gonna get out of here, okay?” there’s a weight to the words, and you can almost imagine them burning themselves into your skin, marking you with a severe promise. 

Keys being jingled unharmoniously against someone’s hip—coming closer to you—sends your skin crawling, erupting into goosebumps and fear. 

Jason’s eyes harden. His shoulders tense. The clinking metal becomes louder.

“You just need to listen to me. Listen to what I say, yeah?" his eyes bore into you, sapphire and jade burning. It urges you to nod your head.

The clanking sound echoes, loud and shrill and horrible. Jason's eyes don't leave yours, and you can see the plan formulating behind them; a sequence of actions you can't envision for yourself, but you know you won't have to.

He'll tell you, but you'll also have to listen to the unsaid things, too.
