Went camping in the mountains last weekend
#first time camping away from home by myself#was kinda scary but it was really nice#except the last night i was there i got woken up by a big ass tree limb falling on my tent#and it took me over an hour to calm.down enough to go back to sleep it scared the shit out of me#its interesting how like.. unreasonable? we are in fear. as in we kinda throw away logic and get really scared at everything#like for a minute after that part of me was afraid that someone was trying to hurt me by.. climbing on the roof of a shed and dropping limb#limbs on my tent? but my brain was like 'well what if !! we need to be careful!!'#it didnt even damage my tent at all but i think i fucking screamed and rushed out of my tent in a blind panic#and i sure am glad i wasnt sleeping shirtless or smth#but yea camping is super fun and im gunna go more i think#maybe not on holiday weekends tho. i was just going up for an event i didnt know it was a holiday

Sorry but am I the only one that thought that episode…sucked? Like it was straight up bad. Horrible pacing, no wrap up of all the random characters and plot lines they’ve thrown around all season (the tuskegee airmen, Westgates spying, literally all the guys beside like the main 4). (Seriously it makes me so mad that the three redtails got all of 5 seconds of screen time, almost no lines. Literally what was the point of introducing them other than to pretend the show was iNcLuSiVe) Even at the end of BoB and the Pacific you get a much better idea of what happened to all the remaining guys. In this they’re like what happened to DeMarco or Hambone or Brady or (insert character here) we don’t know! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ The concentration camp scene felt shoehorned in compared to how it was done in BoB. Unless that actually happened to Rosie (which i haven’t heard anything about) but it was just like.. ok? It all felt so rushed and emotionless to me. Maybe I’ve just fallen out of love with MoTA but it’s been downhill for me since episode 6 or so.
i already made a little (read: long) post-finale write-up here, where i talk about the use of the tuskegee airmen, l'sandra, and overall editing/pacing issues i felt the show had. but i don't agree with the notion that adding the redtails was in any way insincere or trying to halfass being "iNcLuSiVe", i just think they suffer from this show's obvious time constraints. and to summarize what i wrote in my linked post, there's a limit to what white writers/directors/producers can do when creating a story about black people. there are some stories i'd feel uncomfortable with them telling on their own, truth be told. dee rees wasn't the sole nonwhite director, but she Was the only black one. i think she did her job well given the limitations and i appreciate that they let her direct those episodes, rather than leaving it up to a team of white people trying their best to tell a black story.
the worst i can say about the finale is that it didn't feel like That strong of finale, tho i wouldn't go as far to say it "sucked" or call it "straight up bad". i liked it plenty, it's just the weakest of the hbo war finales imo.
as for the concentration camp scene, artistic license was taken with both shows. unlike what's seen in the BoB, easy company wasn't the first to arrive at kaufering, and there's 0 mention of the all-japanese american 552nd who helped them liberate it). similarly, rosie rosenthal did assist in liberating those camps, though it would've been after the events shown this episode. idk if he saw one in that up-close way seen in this episode, but he could've (i should research this when i have time). plus, it would've felt weird Not having him acknowledge them at all. "shoe-horned" is an odd term to use here imo, as both scenes more-or-less center a jewish character (BoB's liebgott and MotA's rosie). the former show has survivors the characters can help, the latter shows no one left to help. the former has all of easy company there, the latter has rosie there all alone. rosie's scene felt deeply personal in that way. at the end of the day, both scenes are communicating different things. that doesn't make one better than the other when they aren't trying to be identical. (disclaimer, i'm not jewish, so i'd be interesting hearing from the perspective of someone who wrt whether or not they felt it was "shoe-horned")
i can understand if you've disliked the show post-episode 6 (and episode 6 was a very strong episode i'm ngl). eps 7 and 8 were weaker in many ways, even to me, so i get it. everyone's entitled to their own opinion (i'd be a hypocrite saying otherwise). just understand that this blog is run by someone who overall enjoys this show despite its flaws! basically, i encourage you to take this energy and make your own posts.

I have think there's something wrong with me.
I have one singular dog. Since I've gotten Misty, I've purchased 8 collars, 2 leashes, and 1 slip leash. In addition to these, I already had 3 leashes, Misty came home with a collar, and a puppy sized martingale slip leash.
Why am I about to buy yet another leash????
#sam literally had 3 collars and 1 leash his entire 10 years of life#and one of those got so gross rolling in the woods that i tossed it#why sooooo much dog stuff#like i feel like it all has a purpose and a place but still#the bf was complaining about the amount of dog stuff we have for one dog and concerned about how much more there will be soon#well. soonish. felony may just be coming home in may. assuming we get one from this upcoming litter#i think if there are at least 6 pups then the odds are good#to be fair though of that dog stuff that she didn't come with she's grown out of or irreparably worn out half the collars#and two of the leashes are only used when we go camping as a tie out extender. part of random junk i aquired from family home#and also the leash i want is for hiking! ruffwear hitchhiker. looks good#(as the bf said. another dog item for a specific purpose)#anyways anyways. hopefully the rest of dogblr has way more than i do so i can feel less like a hoarder of dog supplies#i need it all okay#quick going out to the yard collar and leash#minimal but pretty short leash and collar#easily cleaned but still attractive collar and leash#house collar#nylon tagless collar for unforeseen collar needs#and now a handsfree leash for hiking#it just fits. the real question is why do i want to buy a matching harness for it too

#dizzyisms#so uh. completely forgot to mention it when it happened but.#a month ago my old (''old'' it's not even 5 years old yet ffs-) Galaxy shat the bed literally the DAY I got home from a camping trip#froze- wouldn't connect to WiFi- started crashing n rebooting over n over-#ran it to the mobile place in a panic and got a loaner that I've been using for the past month#and today I went back n returned it n bought a new one!#also a galaxy so I could just Smart Switch all my old crap onto the new one (thank fuck it has a TON of storage space)#didn't stop me from panicking the past few weeks n frantically backing up all my notes and [most of my] photos and whatnot#through every means possible#so at least I have those elsewhere now I guess dhjskd#oh and I've still got the old one (obv)#it? sort of works? But I can't open too many apps at once or it'll overheat n start bootlooping again#and nothing short of sticking it in the fridge will fix it (which lbr prob isn't all that good for it longterm lmao)#but yeah! feels good to have a phone that actually fits in my pocket again n don't have to worry abt Exploding it against every hard surfac#Otterbox cases my beloved

#keese draws#oc art#oc#ocs#furry#furry art#furry oc#Im sick 😔#I can tell because all my joints are hurting instead of just my knees lol#which actually is strange since usually when Im sick the first sign is my nose being super duper runny#but I can actually breath just fine if not better than usual rn wow#but yeah say hi to antinio theyre a design I got a couple months ago I think#theyre a part of a new ish story I made around the same time that surrounds the other escaped patients of the facility pent escaped from#pent didnt actually go with them tho partially because none of them like her and she doesnt like any of them but mostly because shes more#physically unstable than the others and needs regular goop recharges that kept her camping near the facility until bud and daisy dropped in#but yeah everyone else left together and spent some time wandering before getting lured into the origin place of the goop#this guy is actually quite the unique case among the bunch because they were originally an ocean dweller before they were revived#this basically means they only half understand what everyone else is saying and can't actually talk themself#and also that despite not needing to breath they constantly feel like theyre suffocating and they are generally pretty bitter abt all this#they cant rly go home partially because theyve been dead for too long and mostly because theyd kind of just fall apart in the ocean#even just washing their hands causes their fur and skin to get all slimy#hey they at least have a new bestie even if said bestie is also part of the only half understands everyone party meaning they even less#know how to communicate with eachother since they both speak different languages from eachother#but hey now they can be confused abt whatever the hell applebounce is yelling abt together

like ronnies wuest is ALSO really really good but you basically get to say to her everything i wanted to say. about it not being her fault and about how much i love her and want her to be free and live her own life and not tie herself to a sinking ship forever. girl i love you sometimes your family is determined to wallow in the mud but YOU dont have to. but like you get to tell her that straight up. the combo of not getting to say everything i want to say + arcade LEAVING ME FOREVER. SOMETHING I DID NOT KNOW WOULD HAPPEN. just leaves me with this big aching arcade gannon shaped hole in my heart that will never be filled by anything else as long as i am on this earth. i get to go back to my apartment every night and go HONEY IM HOME and kiss veronica on the mouth. i wont see arcade again for months and months and months of in game time. and i miss him dearly.
#this is very immersive becayse of how i set up dannie and arcades relationship#ie: hes been someone shes known since she was a kid and pretty regularly would run away from home#and at some point made freeside her hangout spot when she was on the run. and would bother the followers. so in my mind#arcade (who i think would be ~10 years older?) would kind of be her tutor and just generally a weird older brother figure#and then one of the times she gets dragged back home by the hair she just never comes back#yk until a few years pass and she gets shot in the head#so i think arcade is someone she thinks about often during that time where she doesnt go back to vegas. and i imagine hed think about her o#occassion. yk like wondering what ever happened to her. probably assuming that shed died young.#so i think itd be very sweet when shes doing quest stuff and rolls back up to freeside for the first time since she was like 15-17ish#so its been like 8-10 years at that point. so i think itd be a nice little reunion#and also like WOW. that weird scrawny kid you used to tutor is huge and badass now#i think a lot about them getting to know each other again and just chatting while hiking around or making camp#and i think as things progress dannie really starts to rely on him more as she feels in over her head vis a vis the fate of vegas#and in her mind arcade is like. the worlds greatest person. so he must know the right decision. so i think she would ask him for reassuranc#or just for his take on the Political Situation a lot#(immersive because i got REALLY scared after killing house i was considering reloading a save. and i asked arcade just on a whim. and he#said he thought i was making the best possible choice. and it made me feel so much better and less scared)#anyways. i think she thinks the world of him. not very many people have been nice to her in her life and arcade is a little bitchy but his#heart is full of love. i do think they have a very sibling-ey dynamic#so i do think once he leaves. she would miss him agonizingly bad#she would catch herself turning around before big decisions like 'arcade what do you think - oh.'#and i think shed kind of retreat into herself without him there. very quiet. very uncertain of what shes doing.#🏜️#<- for the tags.

okay so i have a LONG history with sleep issues lol, but the last time i woke up and felt rested at all was.... i don't think ever? OH WAIT! whenever i go to the woods and go camping, the adrenaline of unfamiliarity gets me up and going in the morning!
after that my energy comes and goes in waves. this morning i felt great and was running around cleaning, now im debating taking a nap cuz im so tired my head hurts, give me an hour to find something to stimulate my brain and i'll be bouncing off walls again!
