Thunderbirds 80s style

So turns out my 80s phase I've been having has brought me back to tbirds so here's my 80s au. Info under cut x

Firstly I ain't taking criticism, these designs feel right 2 me and so do the song choices. Sorry there isn't more diversity in the music tastes these r literally just from bands I know.

Gordon-

Kiefer Sutherland (specifically him in the movie 1969 with his longer hair) and George michael r my inspo for him, I mean the hair is the main inspo but the vibes from both of them R verryyy Gordon to me. He dresses very typical 80s he's a big big fan of denim.

His favourite bands are Wham and Cinderella, being a big George Michael fan in general. His favourite album is night songs by Cinderella. Not sure why Cinderella is his fave but it feels right ☝️ (everyone listen to Cinderella xxx)

Alan-

Alex Winter for this guy, probably because of bill and ted (definitely because of bill and ted and also nose 👃) and I can genuinely get behind Alan having curly hair. Despite this he has long hair in this cause he's a trendy fella, and if I didn't give any of them long hair I would be a fraud and a fake to the 80s cause. He switches his style a lot but he has a lot of inspo from rock bands.

Scott-

I'm blaming @knyee because of their Tom Selleck thoughts 😩. Older Scott very Tom Selleck, younger Scott very Tommy Lee, and Jason patric is just there cause he's a guy with brown hair and blue eyes, any 70/80s person with brown hair is Scott to me (could Eddie Van Halen be the next Scott Tracy 😮).

Now I am about to be controversial,,, I genuinely forget Virgil exists. Like who is he,, U tell me ? So this made someone that vibes w him very hard to find. So this may be weird to people, this may not fit as well as the others, but if U ignore the hair I hope U can see my vision. Paul Stanley. Look at his eyebrows, look at his cheek bones then get back to me Kay x.

Tho this au of the Tracy family has no specific like version (weather it's tag tos or 04, tho with me it's never TAG do not speak to me about TAG Alan xx) I will say this, TAG Virgil is a Metallica fan, I get he does classical music but he can do that,, and like Metallica, cause guess what,, he's cool as shit. Despite this is fave album is Lick it up by kiss.

Don't ask me how to dress virgil, I just put him in green and call it a day.

John-

Again don't know shit about John, not do I care for him but if I make him look like Billy Idol I begin to care. I'll tell U sommat not only is this inspo, Billy is like a face claim for me, Ur telling me that's not John Tracy. Is Billy wasn't cool af he would be John Tracy. And as well as looking like Billy idol he is a fan of Billy idol, his fave album being Billy idol by (U guessed it) billy idol.

Big big big Stacey Q fan, her fave album is Stacey Q better than heaven. Penny is a big fan of 60s music as well, loving Erma Franklin, he favourite song being her cover of 'Hold on I'm comin''. She loves Daughters of Eve, their song 'Hey lover' is her and Kayos 'song'.

She has seen Stacey Q live many times and has (lovingly) dragged Kayo to them. Kayo is also a bit of a fan. They both like a lot of each other's music, if they find a new band or an artist they like has released a new song they always try to listen to it for the first time together.

I am realising now I didn't write Penny's fave films which are: Heathers, Labyrinth and Hairspray.

Another Yellowjackets x TLOU pitch

Alright so since Shauna gives off major Joel vibes, she’s gonna resemble him. That would make Jackie resemble Ellie but in this, I’m gonna intertwine her with Lucy from Fallout because no way Jackie would survive in that world.

Also no one dies. Not even Shauna.

Tai and Van are basically Tommy and Maria at this point. Tai being Maria and Van being Tommy. But here’s the catch, the sniper of the entire gang is Natalie instead. Idk why but I feel like Lottie gives off major Bill vibes but less hostile.

Anyways, the plot would follow tlou 2 but instead of Shauna being beaten, it’s Lottie considering we got S2 Ep 7. Lottie doesn’t die, of course. Nat and Lottie were basically “rescued” but were then interrogated by their attackers who demand to know where Shauna is. They refused to talk and were eventually rescued by other patrollers.

Nat is of course mad and confronts Shauna once she’s discharged from the med bay. Shauna and Jackie have no choice but to tell the truth. Jackie and Shauna’s relationship is still super rocky considering that Shauna lied to her about the hospital. Jackie still hasn’t forgiven Shauna yet.

Anyways, Nat wants revenge but Shauna is the one to leave instead cause she feels guilty. Jackie finds out, knows Shauna will prob die and recruits the rest aka Nat (just saying, I’m not including Mari, Gen or Crystal here cause there’s way too many characters). .

So they reach Seattle, basically find a trail of carnage that Shauna has left. Seattle Day 1 takes place, Jackie and Nat are ambushed by the WLF and are taken hostage. They escape and reunite with the rest. But Jackie can see that Nat is losing it.

Jackie’s immunity is revealed somehow. They settle on a home base, They finds a radio and they use it to track Shauna.

Day 2 happens, Jackie goes out alone when they hear about Hillcrest. The guilt of not forgiving Shauna sooner weighs on her so she argues with Nat about going alone. She somehow wins and goes. But doesn’t find Shauna, instead finds Tai, Van, Misty, Laura Lee and Lottie.

Look, if Lottie can survive nearly beaten to death this by Shauna in canon then she survive the journey to Seattle. Don’t come for me.

Anyways, they all head back to the home base. Nat is upset that Lottie has showed up despite Lottie being mostly functional. But Jackie is the one who leaves for the hospital, again, alone.

She returns super traumatized.

Seattle day 3 happens, Jackie, Nat, Tai and Van are the ones to go out. But this time, Nat splits from them. She wants to hunt down the people that hurt Lottie.

In my mind, Jackie actually wants to find Shauna but Nat wants revenge.

So the aquarium scene happens but instead of the rest finding Nat, Nat gets info that the person that beat Lottie is on scar island. Nat uses the available radio there to tell Misty so that can inform the rest.

Misty of course tells the others, I’m gonna give them all radios here cause why not. Anyways, Lottie overhears this and she grabs Laura Lee with her. They find a shortcut to scar island.

They meet up with Tai, Van, Jackie and Shauna who have received the news and they fight their way through scar island to find Nat. They eventually find her but at the cost of Laura Lee’s life. I’m gonna put in the Ellie x Abby beach fight but it’s at the docks.

They find Natalie sitting in the water, besides the dead body of the person she was hunting down. They grab her and they leave.

Everyone but Laura Lee leaves Seattle. Everyone is super traumatized and they don’t talk about Seattle.

I’ll still need to figure out the logistics of this but this is a very rough outline

MCU Rewatch - Captain America: The First Avenger

After kind of a tough week, I was surprised to find myself genuinely excited for Captain America.

I mentioned it before, but Chris Evans wasn’t who I envisioned being Captain America. I don’t know who exactly would’ve been better (maybe Afleck?), but I just couldn’t see the strong-jawed helmet-wearing hero in Evans’ face.

Well, I was wrong.

Just like the character played by academy award-winning actor Tommy Lee Jones was shown that brawn isn’t the only thing that matters, I’ve come around to Evans as he grew splendidly into this role. In fact, I actually really like Captain America now, and watching The First Avenger again, I can’t really see why I ever had such a problem with it.

I will allow one caveat to that statement: there’s nothing very special about the plot. But who cares? Plot, shmlot! Any plot can be a good movie; a great one, even! Not that I’ve been great about this so far anyway, but I’m going to ignore the plot for the most part here.

Now, let me tell you about what the kids did cook up for this one: vibes. Do you love WWII movies? Have you already seen them all? (No, you really haven’t…) Are you desperate for some new WWII content, but also don’t want WWIII? Perfect!

Captain America is like the movie version of a remix. It’s got all of the best elements of a classic WWII movie, but then riffs off of these to do cool shit like have a guy turn some nazis to powder and having Captain’s BFF fight a mech suit dude.

Then you have other cool things like Steve and Bucky showing physical affection (hugging, pats, etc.)

and a diverse group of support soldiers.

It’s like a WWII movie, but with just enough tweaking to make it more modern without losing the charm that only the triumph over Nazis can achieve.

There were also odd references to other movies throughout, which were ultimately funny easter eggs. Like when Tommy Lee Jones’ character is trying to catch a plane and pushes the big red button.

Other than the modern riff on WWII movies, Captain America doesn’t have much else that makes it stand out. Don’t get me wrong; it has great visuals, awesome weaponry, cool fight scenes, and a villain death scene worth revisiting, but overall it’s fairly predictable. However, here are some more caveats: the villain death and of course the post-arctic crash scene.

So Captain America lost this fight, right? He certainly didn’t defeat Red Skull and it’s debatable whether he could have. I think if movies weren’t skewed to let the hero win all the time, Captain would not have been able to defeat Red Skull, even without the tesseract. But, put all this aside because this scene is way more horrifying now that we know what the hell is happening. Because Red Skull isn’t just dying.

His soul is being ripped from his body to be transported across space into eternal servitude to the soul stone.

And the scene is SO SLOW. Omg, we’re watching this guy get eviscerated by a magic space rock, but what we think we’re seeing is just some guy get turned into light by a glowy cube.

But that’s what Captain America is; turning the awfulness of war into cool visual effects! Like the guy on the plane who just turns into red powder when he slips off.

Just kidding, that wasn’t powder — it was CG! (or something, idk; don’t fact check me, please)

 And then there’s the end scene. This is my favorite part of the movie, and one of my favorite Marvel moments overall.

I love that the baseball game gives it away. I really, truly love that the illusion is instantly broken and the fact that it’s broken by a background accessory, not even by anything especially well hidden or a person mis-speaking; just something absolutely mundane. Steve Rogers isn't some Sherlock-style sleuth, he's just a lucky kid from Brooklyn who went to a baseball game one day in the 40's.

And Captain America is ready; he hits the ground running, literally. Then Nick Fury shows up and somehow the camera manages to sink Steve so deep into Times Square, despite the fact that he’s completely surrounded by half a dozen black SUVs, which almost certainly were drawing more attention than anything the camera is focused on. What the camera is focused on is what Steve is focused on. And what a fucking good boy too; he sees he’s in NYC and that’s enough to calm him down…phew, America. He takes everything so well once he gets a good look around!

I think this scene says more about Captain America than any other scene. Anyone could become a super soldier good guy; hell, Bucky does it for a second and then Sam Wilson does too. In this final scene, we see just how resilient Steve really is. He’s being told that everyone he knows is old or dead, he has nothing, he’s in the future, and they need him because shit is about to go down, and he just…goes with it?

He obviously seems a little flustered, but overall he’s super calm and we all know he goes on to stay positive, focus on the fact that he’s in the future (which is always cool [do not chime in, 40K]), and continue to prioritize protecting people! 

Up next, finally, is the first avengers movie!! I fucking love crossovers, so this is going to be fucking awesome. I can’t wait!!

Seb isn’t getting any younger if he wants to have kids and maybe settle down someday he needs to end this bull. She doesn’t give me ‘mother of my child’ vibes or even ‘wife’ vibes at all. She seems too selfish and immature, not at all ready for that stage of life. Idk if she ever will be. She’s a 22 year old living in 29 year old body. They want different things, come from different backgrounds. I’m team PR but either way it won’t last. I do, however, think that if this continues past the year mark he’s going to lose a lot of respect and support from loyal fans. People just want the best for him and she’s not it.

I honestly am stressed for Sebastian. Like the anon said, that man seems so lost right now. He has too much on his plate—gaining mostly negative attention lately from Tommy Lee, the Buddha stuff, the comment last week, and from CB in general. I can imagine his anxiety is at a peak right now. I cannot wait for him to step back and do a little soul searching. He needs N.Y (his safe place), his mom, and his true friends.

Sebastian has always been an extremely dedicated actor. He puts himself completely into each and every project but I’m worried her might lose himself a little bit in this role. I support him in this role, it’s big for him but I just worry because of others reactions that it’ll only get tougher when the show actually airs. Do you think it’ll affect his future roles? Like what he gets offered? Will it affect his work with Marvel?

Very well said. I agree with everything, especially if this lasts longer than needed. People assume we are jealous fans, but honestly I know I will never date Sebastian, and that is ok. I agree if he had a better person by his side, this wouldn't be as big of a deal.

I dont think this role will affect him negatively. Hulu is also owned by Disney, so I doubt this will affect Marvel. They can't do anything against the actor for his role, its what he does in his personal life that will affect his job.

favorite musicals/plays of a:tla characters

aang: would genuinely love Hello, Dolly! SO MUCH. he really likes the ‘you can find love at any age!’ message. whenever it came to town/got on broadway again he’s first in line for tickets. Annie is a close second though.

katara: i’m getting Matilda vibes from her. is always very impressed by the kids singing performance and always gives them a standing ovation. probably resonates with Matilda a little (-abusive household) tbh. also really likes Anastasia!

sokka: HEATHERS HEATHERS 100% HEATHERS!! he definitely sings all the songs at the top of his lungs in the car but will get so angry if anyone sings along during the performance. he likes the movie more (who doesn’t) but is still a big fan of the musical. i can also see him liking Something Rotten?

toph: i could actually see toph enjoying musicals since the big appeal are the songs. this is kind of a hard one but maybe The Producers? she would probably like Max Bialystock (con artist and all) and would really like the Along Came Bialy number. i could see her as an overall Mel Brooks fan honestly. would pretend to hate Cats but lowkey enjoys it.

zuko: very into classic broadway shows. favorite is probably Les Misérables, i can’t explain it he just loves it. favorite song is Red and Black (i am projecting leave me alone) if you thought sokka got mad when other people sing during the performance, zuko is even worse. will wait until the act is over and then chew out whoever was singing and will complain about them the whole ride home. his second fave is Phantom of the Opera.

suki: she likes The Play that Goes Wrong, as she should tbh that show was funny af. is cracking up the whole show but no ones even mad because she has such a nice laugh (i’m not debating on this argue with your wall). also probably likes Aladdin? idk she’s giving me that vibe.

iroh: likes a lot of niche shows, probably likes Tommy. i can see him being into 60′s music in general so when they started performing the album as a musical he was ecstatic. also likes City of Angels.

azula: ...hamilton. she made miku binder thomas jefferson posts in middle school too. yeah, she’s THAT hamilton fan. takes everything in the show as fact, is convinced hamilton is the best musical of all time. she doesn’t get another musical she likes because she refuses to watch another. 

mai: also likes Phantom of the Opera. she’s jus into the creepy vibes of it, man. she got a signed playbill from ty lee for her birthday and it is now her prized possession. she also likes West Side Story.

ty lee: BEAUTY AND THE BEAST!! cmon shes a sucker for love musicals! she saves up each time she goes and has a bunch of merch from the show. she also really likes Anastasia! ig she’s just a sucker for princess musicals.
