The history of the leading environmental management standard

The development of ISO 14001
ISO 14001 consultant in Bangalore has the increasing global concern of the environmental issues is relatively new; that is why Environmental Management Systems appeared just few decades ago.
ISO 14001 Services in Saudi Arabia it was in the 1960’s when the environmental movement started to become popular, followed in 1972 by the first United Nations conference on the human environment in the Stockholm. But it was not until 1992, during the Rio de Janeiro Earth Summit, when the United Nations reached an agreement in order to protect the environment by reducing the negative impacts of the business activities.  The same year, BSI group (British Standards Institution) published the world’s first Environmental Management Systems standard.
ISO 14001 Certification services in Bangalore first launch in 1996 of the ISO 14000 series of standards, organizations already voluntarily had been developing their own Environmental Management Systems in order to minimize the negative effects of their processes on the environment. However, they did not have the necessary tools to compare their environmental practices and impacts with the ISO established ISO 14001 as a common framework for the comparison.
Evolution of ISO 14001
ISO 14001 Certification in Saudi Arabia The evolution of the ISO 14001 standard since it is conceptual birth can be understood as given below:
In the year of 1992, the British Standards Institution developed BS 7750, a standard used for the environmental control in both manufacturing and service companies.  By implementing BS 7750, organizations could demonstrate that they may complied with health and safety regulations, other local and national environmental requirements, and codes of practice in their industry sectors.  At the same time, Environmental Management System standards were published in other countries, like Spain and Ireland, and the European commission developed the Eco-management and the Audit Scheme.
Keys to success throughout years
ISO 14001 Consulting Services in Bangalore Since it is the first introduction, ISO 14001 has been continually improved to help companies face increasing environmental issues in an effective and the productive manner.  But what other reasons are key to ISO 14001 is success throughout the years?

Zelos ZX Chronograph | Hands-on Review
Zelos ZX Chronograph
With so many new microbrands these days, you would think some older brands such as Zelos would get lost in the shuffle. Taking a look at this Zelos ZX Chronograph and how many of them have already sold out, you can see that is not the case. Zelos and its owner Elshan has continued to push forward and he keeps coming out with new designs and believe it or not, this is actually their first chronograph but hopefully not the last. The version I have in hand has the meteorite dial and is the Valjoux 7750 Automatic version, but there are many non-meteorite versions and Mecha-Quartz options as well.
Zelos ZX Chronograph Specifications:
Size: 43mm Diameter. 16mm Height. 49mm Lug to Lug 22MM Lugs
Water Resistance: 100m.
Watch case: CUSN8 Marine Bronze or Titanium Case – Mirror polished edges and Brushed Sides.
Ceramic Bezel (Selected models only): Zirconium Oxide 1500 Vickers hardness.
Movement: Swiss ETA 7750 Elabore Grade or Seiko VK67 Mechaquartz.
Crystal: Domed Sapphire Crystal with inner AR coating. Sapphire crystal case back.
Dial: Multi-Layered filled with BGW9 lume.
Strap: Horween Leather
Warranty: 1 Year.
Price $1,099 USD (Meteorite Automatic as shown)
https://zeloswatches.com/collections/zx-chronograph
Zelos really went all out with their first chronograph-titanium or bronze case, multiple dial options, including a piece of the SR-71 Blackbird (now sold out), meteorite as pictured here and sunray dial options as well. This version has blued hands and applied markers, and very unique crown and pushers. The great thing about Zelos is that most of their watches never really resemble another brand. They are constantly working on new designs and while you can always find similarities between watches, this ZX chronograph is in no way an homage.
When looking around the titanium case you can see just how well finished this watch really is. Not only are there multiple finishes as play here with the high polished and brushed titanium, but you can see and feel how beautiful this is. The grain on the satin finish is thin and tight and all around the entire case, I could not find one sharp edge. The crown operates as it should, it is just a tad hard to grasp due to the shape, but it is large enough that is not a real issue, at least not one to really gripe about. The pushers, on the other hand, are a little spongey. You have to give a hard push on them before they will click and activate or stop/reset the chronograph. That is really my one and only issue with the ZX Chronograph. I just wish the pushers had more of an instant click.
Meteorite dials used to be very rare, these days, I think too many brands are offering them, and it definitely makes them less unique. That said, it does look great on this watch and this example has some great striations and texture to it. Zelos was also smart to keep this dial as clean as possible. Chronographs are already busy and loading up on dial text would just take away from the beauty of the meteorite, so you will not find a date, and only the Zelos logo and brand text on the dial. Keeping with the theme of this watch, the hands are rocket shaped, which is a nice little touch.
The automatic versions of the Zelos ZX Chronograph use an Elabore Valjoux 7750 movement, and you can see this through the exhibition case back. Not only are you getting better than a standard grade movement, but Zelos has gone ahead and added a custom rotor as well, something that is common these days, but unlike so many did not decide to call it a modified movement or give it its own special caliber number. It is what it is, an Elabore 7750. I always feel that is misleading when companies do that, they word it in a way to make it seem like it is a special or in house movement when all they did was put on a different rotor.
Because of the short lug to lug, the ZX Chronograph wears really nice on the wrist, despite being 16mm thick. Two straps are included, one brown horween and one black leather, the latter being more of a traditional pilot style strap, minus the rivets. This watch would probably look great on many different types of straps, and I would love to see how it looks on a dark grey or blue canvas. Check it out below on my 7 1/2 inch wrist.
Zelos has never been one to be weak in the lume category and this model uses BGW9 Superluminova. Unlike some models they have done in the past, this one does not have dual color lume, but it is still nice and bright, though I would like to see the hour and minute hand have a wider track for more lume to be applied to, though that might have really messed with the design. Still, you will not have any issues seeing this watch in the dark.  Don’t worry, the crown is lumed also, something Zelos has become quite known for in recent models and while it does nothing to help read the time in the dark, it does have a “cool” factor about it.
The ZX Chronograph is another winner from Zelos and that does not surprise me. I had no doubt from when I first saw it in photos it would be a killer watch, and getting it in hand has only confirmed that for me. I love how they designed this pilot watch using an actual plane as a reference and also how it is offered in so many different configurations. Not only do all the versions look different, they are at different prices as well, giving the consumer the ability to get the exact same case and dial but at a much lower price if they chose the Mecha-Quartz options. Zelos also continues to strive to offer many different styles of watches, pilot, diver, dress watches and even ones that are a little funky and I am not sure what category to put them into. As usual, I am not here to sell you a watch but I will say if you are interested in one of these models, act fast. Zelos watches tend not to stay on their website very long, much like Halios Watches. They have a rabid following and it is easy to see why.

Developing your customer as yours
What step are you missing for developing your customer effectively?
Developing your customer as yours
Small Business Owners, you need to understand the importance of developing your customer as your own – one at a time. When you do this, you create your own marketplace of loyal customers. They will repeatedly purchase from you and refer you all the time. It’s like creating your own marketing team – without having to pay them 🙂 This type of business success is priceless and possible for every Small Business.
Everyone wants to know how you can develop your customers. It isn’t too difficult.
SBOs, remember your job is to earn their business.
Many Small Business Owners (SBOs) roll their eyes when I say this. Just because you commonly hear this doesn’t mean it is understood. I assure you it is applied even less than it is understood. I know I can always improve upon this – everyone can and should.
5 Steps to Developing Your Customer
1: Communicate with probable purchasers. 2: Create an offering they want and need. 3: Deliver “the wow”, with your offering. 4: Follow-up with additional conversations.  5: Surprise them!
Remember: Steps 4 and 5 are very important to assure repeat business and loyal customers who rave about you! This is where your competitors won’t show up like they should. If you do, future business is yours.
Now at first this appears too basic. Doesn’t it?  Yet, if we would start to discuss each one of these steps, you’d be in a 5 day training. So let’s over-simplify this again.
Developing Your Customer TIP
Communicate. Communicate with them on an ongoing basis. Support them with what matters to them. When you know what’s important to them, you show up in their world. It doesn’t matter if it’s in-person or virtually, just communicate with them.
BONUS: Communicate with probable purchasers 1-1 if at all possible. Why? It’s easy to click delete. We all like to feel we are important or special. When someone personally speaks to you, it’s more difficult for them to say “no” to whatever you are inviting them.
NOTE: We started this series with the blogpost: People, not money, makes the world go around
Why? People, including you, are the most important asset in Your Business. Below are the 5 Roles of different people for you master developing strong relationships with to secure YOUR Business Growth. New Post has been published on Homes Below Market | Homes For Sale Dallas TX Area
New Post has been published on http://foreclosures-dallas-texas.com/worldwide-real-estate-prices-compared-to-panama-2007/
Worldwide Real Estate Prices Compared to Panama: 2007
Worldwide Real Estate Prices Compared to Panama: 2007
Introduction – We are a Panama Law Firm not a real estate business. Our clients are frequently relocating to Panama and we assist in the real estate acquisition for them. We are often asked if the real estate bubble is going to bust in Panama or if the boom has just begun. Well we are not sure. We have done a few articles on the Panama real estate bubble breaking but now we are going to present objective data in support of the Panama real estate boom just starting. It could be true and prices may continue to escalate.
Worldwide Residential Real Estate Prices by the Square Meter – These are current prices for some major cities in Europe. This will give you a perspective as to how the Panama market fits into the greater scheme of things. These prices are for serious executive homes in prime locations. A discussion will follow after the prices:
* London ? $10,000 Sq. Meter to $20,000 Sq. Meter * Paris – $9,000 Sq. Meter * Amsterdam – $9,000 Sq. Meter * Lichtenstein – $8,000 Sq. Meter * Moscow – $7,500 Sq. Meter * Rome – $7,200 Sq. Meter * Zurich – $7,000 Sq. Meter * Oslo – $6,900 Sq. Meter * Dublin – $6,800 Sq. Meter * Lithuania – $5,150 Sq. Meter * Latvia (Riga) – $4,100 Sq. Meter * Berlin – $4,300 Sq. Meter * Warsaw – $1,600 Sq. Meter * Slovakia – $1,750 Sq. Meter * Seoul – $11,825 Sq. Meter * Sydney – $7750 Sq. meter * San Diego – $2650 Sq. Meter to $15,000 Sq. Meter * San Francisco – $5,000 Sq. Meter to $20,000 Sq. Meter * New York – $15,000 to $43,000 Sq. Meter * Miami Beach – $9500 Sq. Meter to $32,000 Sq. Meter * Toronto – $3,000 Sq. Meter * Montreal – $3,200 Sq. Meter * Vancouver – $3,700 Sq. Meter
Panama Real Estate Comparison – In Panama City one can get an executive condo in a new high rise building for $1,800 to $3,500 per Sq. Meter and pay less in an older building. We are talking about Condos with a swimming pool and recreation area, balcony, enclosed parking, round the clock security guards, multiple elevators, modern kitchens, city and or water views, beautiful lobbies with marble floors, walls and furniture, and so forth. In the outlaying areas single family homes and town homes can be bought for a bit less with $2,000 to $3000 a Sq. Meter generally bringing in a home in a gated community with all the features of an executive home.
Discussion of Panama Relative Housing Prices – Panama is priced very low compared to the other markets around the world. The question is can Panama rate with the major cities like Paris, New York, San Francisco, Miami Beach, and London etc. This would be an indicator of the attractiveness of Panama relative to the real estate market prices. Below are some categories where we unilaterally decided to indicate how Panama stands, so this is just our opinion, nothing more.
* Entertainment – DEFICIENT. Panama lacks any serious theatre, opera, orchestra, ballet, museums, foreign film houses, major league baseball, football, basketball, and hockey. There is some soccer and boxing. Panama does have gambling and horse racing. The outlaying areas have no entertainment to speak of. * Crime – EXCELLENT. Most of these major cities have more violent crime in one day than Panama has in one year. Panama has crime but is very safe compared to these cities. * Traffic – DEFICIENT. Lots of congestion. Wild drivers who disobey traffic laws, stop signs and even red lights. No vehicle safety inspections. Taxi and bus drivers have decided they are the only ones on the road who matter. Outlaying areas have far less problems with the traffic than Panama City. As the new housing projects complete and the Canal expansion begins the traffic is expected to get worse. On Fridays closet to pay day the traffic barely moves from about 3PM until 8 PM. Most of the stores and restaurants have parking. Lately it is almost impossible to get parking at the Allbrook Mall on weekends. * Restaurants – SUPERIOR. Panama is loaded with excellent restaurants at very low prices. Steak dinners for $10.00 or less are abundant. Food is great. * Shopping – VERY GOOD. You can get whatever you want in Panama City if you know where to find it. Lots of high-end stores are opening up in the malls. Lots of discounters popping up. * Cost of Living – EXCELLENT. Your biggest expense will be real estate. * Domestic Help – EXCELLENT. A live in Maid in Panama City is about $275 a month with benefits, plus room and board. Most of the condos and houses are built with a maid?s room and full bath. A driver runs about $325 a month. * Airport – GOOD. Lots of airlines going to many cities in Central America, South America and USA. For Europe, India or Asia not so convenient. * Medical – VERY GOOD. There are major hospitals including a full John Hopkins Hospital. Most prescriptions can be obtained in the drug stores. There is an abundance of competent doctors in all specialties. You can even have a doctor make a house call. Health care costs about 40% of what it does in USA. * Weather – VERY GOOD. Panama is a tropical climate. No shoveling snow. It does get hot and humid. Some locations have more moderate weather but they usually have high humidity. No hurricanes, not tornadoes, no earthquakes in Panama City, no volcanoes, no tsunamis. * Boating and Fishing – EXCELLENT. World-class sport fishing with 1200-pound Marlin and 400-pound Grouper. Abundant marinas. * Stable Government – VERY GOOD. Things are most stable. * Banking, Stock Market – EXCELLENT. Great banks and stockbrokers.
Conclusion – It appears likely that Panama could escalate in real estate prices to the $5,000 a Sq. Meter market price. They are going to have to work on the culture and entertainment to draw in people accustomed to that housing price market. The traffic will need to be addressed and projects to improve congestion are already in the works. The downside of this theory is that there is not enough to draw people to Panama. Culture and entertainment is lacking and it may take many years for this to improve. There are no major industries here such as: banking, insurance, advertising, stock market, general manufacturing, software, high tech manufacturing, entertainment, tourism and so forth. This eliminates large groups of highly paid executives who need to pay high prices for housing to be close to their workplace. Retirees have needs that are fairly simple and can be met in any many different places around the world and it remains to be seen how much the retiree will pay for real estate. Quite possibly Panama Real Estate Prices have not yet even come close to peaking. Time will tell.

Reverie GT – Automobile-inspired chronograph
A new watch company based in Singapore launches this week on Kickstarter aiming to insert the spirit of driving in a watch. Samuel Tay, the owner of Reverie, has offered to let us in into the design process and philosophy of this gearhead-oriented watch.
Inspiration
I love cars, in particular classic cars with a fastback styling such as the Ferrari 365 Daytona or the Bugatti Atlantic. The GT is inspired by such automobiles and, cliché as it sounds, the spirit of driving. It is hard to describe this feeling in words. I wanted backers to experience it first hand and that was my brief to the film crew. The video had to capture the freedom and nostalgia of driving a classic sports car.
The crew painstakingly shot the video over two nights (no stock footage in there!). We managed to find a beautiful 1970s Porsche Carrera Turbo to work with. For context, classic cars are incredibly rare in Singapore. Due to car ownership laws and taxes, cars here generally only have a 10-year life span before being scrapped / exported. We spent months sourcing around and finally found someone willing to loan us his classic. I still remember that feeling of awe when the car drove into the compound. That raucous exhaust note, outstanding blue paintwork, and menacing black rims – it was perfect.
I cannot be happier with how the video turned out. It does an excellent job of conveying the spirit of driving and gives an insight into the inspiration of the GT collection. You can check out the video for yourself here. I can guarantee that it will be a minute and a half of your time well-spent.
The GT’s case
As for the GT’s specifications, let’s begin with the case. Reverie’s first two collections had cushion-shaped cases. I hence opted for a round case as a starting point for the GT. There are plenty of watches with round cases around so I had to do something special.
I designed the lugs of the case to resemble the Bugatti Superatlantic’s tear drop-shaped fenders, which is just such a piece of art. The contours of the fender are curved such that, on the GT, the lugs almost wrap around the wrist. It sure makes for a secure fit. To further enhance the design, I added a stepped bezel. The stepped bezel really adds drama to the profile of the case – it provides a visual frame and draws your eyes towards the dial. It took countless design adjustments to marry the elements but it came together delightfully in the end.
In terms of dimensions, the case diameter is 40mm, lug-to-lug width is 20mm and the case height comes in at 11.6mm. I personally lean towards watches with restraint proportions and to me, 40mm strikes a good balance between being refined and being suitable for the modern wrist. The height of the case also allows it to slip under a shirt cuff with ease.
The GT’s dial
We pride ourselves on the artistry and quality of our dials and that’s where I feel the GT really shines. The dial has three layers to create visual depth. The base layer has our signature guilloché effect, which for the GT, is evocative of a radiator grille. The paintwork is equally important as it really affects how a watch looks under different lighting conditions. If you own the Sea-Spirit or seen one in the metal, I’m sure you’ll notice how the dial almost sparkles, giving off various hues depending on your surroundings. We made sure to recreate that effect in the GT. You’ll have to see the GT in person to truly appreciate the way it shines with a flick of your wrist.
The lume we used was also important to me. When done right, it almost seems like the watch is alive in the dark. We went for Superluminova lume, which is really the industry benchmark, for the GT’s hands and hour markers. To make things more interesting, we used two different colors, such that the hands emit a blue glow and the hour markers emit a green glow. It is incredibly easy to tell the time in the dark given the brightness of the lume and the contrasting colors.
The GT’s movement
We had 3 options on the table when we were selecting the movement: 1) the Valjoux 7750, 2) the Seiko NE88, 3) Chinese-made mechanical movement, or 4) Seiko VK64 mecha-quartz movement. While a mechanical chronograph was ideal, we didn’t go for the Valjoux 7750 or the Seiko NE88 due to the high cost of the former and the scarcity on the market of the latter. Option 3 was eventually ruled out given the reliability issues we would potentially face with Chinese movements. The VK64, a hybrid movement which is powered by a battery but has a mechanical chronograph module, was ultimately chosen for the following reasons:
The VK64 has the accuracy of a quartz watch (something which the other mechanical options could not match);
While powered by a battery, the VK64’s mechanical module allows the chronograph hand to move in a sweeping motion and has an instant fly-back function upon reset i.e. characteristics of mechanical chronograph movements;
The VK64 had a reasonable cost; and
The VK64 had a slimmer profile as compared to the other options, allowing us to minimise the case thickness.
We ultimately chose the VK64 movement as it offers the best of both worlds: Japanese time-keeping accuracy and elegant mechanical action.
The GT’s straps
Another feature we thought about closely was the straps. A well-made strap really elevates a watch. In my mind, the leather had to be supple yet durable. Most importantly, it had to wear comfortably. Now, I can promise that the GT’s straps will be one of the most comfortable straps you will wear. They’re made of leather sourced from Italy are just the business. It’s a big claim but I stand behind it fully.
Each GT comes with 2 leather straps: the default strap is a perforated racing-inspired strap, and the second strap is a classic pebble-grain textured strap. Both straps have a spring mechanism which allows them to be swapped out without any tools (goodbye nasty lug scratches!). We also included a water-resistant lining on the undersides of the straps to maximize their life span.
In terms of colours, we wanted each GT to have straps that are versatile for use in a myriad of occasions. We ensured this by providing 2 leather straps with each GT. The ‘Mariana Blue’ GT comes with a royal navy perforated strap and a dark brown pebble-grained tang-buckle strap, the ‘Panda’ GT comes with a sharkskin grey perforated strap and a black pebble-grained tang-buckle strap, and the ‘Rose Gold’ GT comes with a dark brown perforated strap and a tan pebble-grained tang-buckle strap. Each GT offers 2 very different looks depending on the strap you put on, which really adds to the value of the watch.
The GT’s other specifications
Of course, the GT would be incomplete with the other bells & whistles one can expect from a microbrand today. The GT also comes with:
A water resistance rating of up to 5ATM;
A navy blue leather-bound travel case to store the watch (and bring it with you on your road trips!);
A medallion-effect case back with each GT’s reference number engraved thereon;
Free worldwide delivery; and
A 1 year international repair warranty.
I have attached photos of the case back and the travel case for your viewing pleasure below.
Ordering the GT
If you’ve made it all the way to this section, it must be fair to say that you’re pretty interested in the watch. The GT is currently available for pre-order on Kickstarter and can be found here. The GT comes at an early-bird price of approximately US$350 and will eventually retail at a price upwards of US$420. In exchange for your support, I can promise that prices for the GT will never be lower than the Kickstarter price.
It must be pretty evident that I’m really proud of how the GT turned out. It’s an achingly beautiful watch (in my biased opinion!) and one which has monopolised my wrist-time lately. I’d love to hear your thoughts on the GT as well so feel free to drop me an email at [email protected] and I will endeavour to reply as soon as I can.

Snowgrass Mountain, Chiwaukum Mountains
August 16-18, 2013
Snowgrass Mountain (7993′)
Eileen and I picked Snowgrass Mountain as a destination for our second annual "boys trip" with Derek and Luke.  We felt that this was a suitable step up from last year's trip to Chikamin Peak.  It also gave us a nice opportunity to see Grace Lakes, an appealing cluster of three lakes that sit on the western flank of the Chiwaukum Mountains.
Day 1:  We started hiking up the White Pine Creek Trail, then took the left fork up Wild Horse Creek.  We followed the well-maintained trails for 7 miles or so to the crossing of Grace Creek (the Grace Lakes outlet stream).  Rather than heading straight up from here, however, we continued another 1/2 mile to a point where Eileen's I-phone topo map showed a spur trail cutting back northward to the lakes.  Because Green Trails maps and Topo software maps do not show this spur trail, we doubted its existence but figured it was worth trying to find just in the name of science.  There was no visible trail junction at the designated spot, but after hiking cross-country upward for 100 yards, we found something that looked like a well-beaten sheepherder's trail traversing northward.  It continued across open terrain for a while and then abruptly switch-backed up a grassy draw before depositing us on a gentle ridge closely above Grace Lakes (7.1 hours from car).
Tumblr media
We set up camp on a gentle rib between the two lower ("little" and "big") lakes.  During our hike up, between about 4000 and 5500 feet the blackflies had ranged from annoying to infuriating, but--thankfully--there were none at the lakes.  This is really shaping up to be an exceptionally bad year for blackflies--one of the worst in recent memory.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Day 2:  Although the forecast had been pretty favorable, the morning sky was dark and threatening.  We gathered summit packs and headed up steep green slopes to Upper Grace Lake, then continued traversing around steep talus slopes.

Cold wind and fog engulfed us just as we reached a moraine below the daunting northwest face of Snowgrass Mountain.  Fortunately, I'd been able to scope out a right-slanting ramp that looked as though it might get us up the face.  We pushed on through the fog and teased out a Class 2-3 route up the ramp, which ended at a 7750-foot notch in the northwest ridge.
Tumblr media
Not wanting to summit in the fog, we hung out at the notch for 45 minutes in hopes that it would ease up.  This strategy paid off;  the fog gradually dissipated, and we were able to climb the chossy east slope in clearing weather, summiting in early afternoon (4.3 hours from camp).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
From the summit, we could look straight down at all three Grace Lakes.  Our tents stood out as little yellow and orange dots between the lower lakes.
Tumblr media
Rather than descending the exposed northwest ramp, we tried traversing northeastward below Point 7955 and then crossing over the sharp eastern ridge closely beyond the point.  I took this opportunity to scramble up Point 7955 to get some photos of Snowgrass Mountain and Big Chiwaukum Peak.  The ruggedness of the Chiwaukum crest can be seen to great advantage from here.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The most difficult part of our descent route was down-climbing into a small notch in the north ridge of Point 7955.  I pulled out our 40-foot panic rope and belayed Derek, Eileen, and Luke down this very exposed Class 4 pitch, then I down-climbed with a prusik sling on the rope.  It was barely long enough to reach over the crux moves!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
At the notch, we got a view of the impressive north and northwest faces of Snowgrass Mountain.  The metamorphic rock (Chiwaukum schist) that comprises this mountain creates interesting textural features.  The jointing planes form sheer, near-vertical, layered faces, whereas the mineral lineation ("grain") forms irregularly stepped diagonal ramps.  The intersection of these two fracture surfaces creates impressive horns and spires along the ridge crests.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
From the small notch, we traversed around another series of horns and then crossed through a col, which led into the Upper Grace Lakes cirque.  It was early evening when we reached camp at Big Grace Lake (4.2 hours from summit).
Day 3:  We awoke to cool but clear weather, indicating that yesterday's cold front had moved past.  To provide the lads with a more adventurous exit day, Eileen led us on a traverse across the beautiful meadowy slopes north of Grace Lakes.  We found segments of old trail contouring around several ribs and basins--always staying at an elevation between 6000 and 6200 feet.  The vegetation, topography, geology, and trail segments in this area are very reminiscent of the Clark Mountain High Route.  It is easy to imagine that sheep were formerly run through these meadows for grazing.
Tumblr media
The clear air gave us nice views into the Alpine Lakes Wilderness and north to Glacier Peak.  Across the valley, the Bull's Tooth and other granitic peaks were especially visible.
Tumblr media
Once down on the Wildhorse and White Pine Creek trails, we passed numerous trail-maintenance folks heading up toward Frosty Pass.  They told us that this was their first day of a two week work party.  Anyone heading up these trails after August can reasonably expect excellent trail conditions.
Tumblr media
Stats:  20 miles;  7000 feet gained and lost.

Aussie, Euro and the U.S. Dollar Are Primed to Move This Week
Talking Points:
– This is a busy week for markets, and next week brings the March FOMC rate decision in which markets are now pricing-in an interest rate hike from the Federal Reserve.
– Last week saw a big jump in probabilities for a hike in March, and the big question now is whether markets can hold on to these gains (in the U.S. Dollar), as the prospect of tighter policy from the U.S. becomes ‘more real’ as we near that next rate decision.

Last week saw the significant rise in expectations for a March rate hike from the Federal Reserve, and this produced a top-side breakout in the U.S. Dollar as the Greenback cleared a key resistance level. With that rate decision now just a week-and-a-half away, probabilities for a hike in March had shot past 90% to close last week; and this is after opening last week at around 40%.
So, despite the lack of discernible US-drivers availing themselves to markets this week, at least until we get to the Friday release of February Non-Farm Payrolls; the U.S. Dollar will likely remain a focal point as the Fed’s March rate decision in the following week (March 14-15) will continue to draw attention with hopes/expectations/fears of an impending rate hike.
On the chart below, we look at three potential areas to watch for support on ‘DXY’ in the effort of top-side continuation in the U.S. Dollar. At this early stage of the week, the optimal zone for that support to develop would appear to be around the 101-handle, or approximately 38.2% of the bullish move in the Greenback that started in early-February.
Chart prepared by James Stanley
Aussie Will be in the Spotlight
Australia will see a series of drivers rolled out this week. First we get the RBA rate decision, and there is scant expectation for any movement there. As we had written on Friday of last week, the RBA is between a rock-and-a-hard place on the rates front; with potential cuts bringing even more ‘exuberance’ in the real estate market with any potential hikes carrying the possibility of choking off growth and exports, even more. But after this rate decision on Tuesday morning (10:30 PM ET on Monday Night for U.S. traders), a couple of Chinese prints later in the week could further drive price action; with particular interest being paid to Chinese inflation numbers released on Thursday morning (Wednesday at 8:30 PM ET for U.S. Traders).
From a technical perspective – last week’s burst of strength in the Greenback appeared to help AUD/USD kick-start the next phase of its range. AUD/USD has been range-bound for the past year, and last week saw a down-side move off of the resistance zone around the .7750-zone; opening the door for targets around the zone of support towards the .7200-vicinity:
Chart prepared by James Stanley
AUD/JPY may offer more allure for directional approaches:
Given the range-bound nature of AUD/USD over the past year, traders may want to look elsewhere if trying to trade a directional move in the Australian Dollar; and such a setup may be presenting itself in AUD/JPY. AUD/JPY is running up against a very interesting level of confluent resistance around the ¥87.50 psychological level. On the weekly chart below, we’re looking at this level on the AUD/JPY chart since 2007.
Chart prepared by James Stanley
On the 4-hour chart below, we drill-down a little closer to look at near-term price action in AUD/JPY after buyers were unable to support prices above that key level around ¥87.50-¥87.70.
Chart prepared by James Stanley
Is the ECB nearing a policy pivot?
Of recent, inflationary data out of the Euro-zone has begun to show positive signs of life. But for the ECB, this may not be all that positive as it could move the bank away from their current outlay of loose policy options and, eventually, mandate a bit of tightening. This likely wouldn’t entail interest rate hikes in the near-term, but with the ECB’s first QE program set to expire at the end of this month, leaving the bank with €60 Billion a month in bond purchases.
Mathematically speaking, since we’re seeing a total of €140 Billion this month with the two programs; when the first program of €80 B/month expires at the end of March, this, effectively, would be a taper. So when the ECB meets this week and hosts their Thursday press conference, considerable attention will likely be paid towards Mr. Mario Draghi and how confident he feels on this recent improvement in European inflation.
If Mr. Draghi does signal a bit of optimism around the recent improvement in data, this could reverse weakness in the Euro as investors begin to price-in and prepare for the inevitable path of ‘less loose’ monetary policy from the ECB. Longer-term price action in EUR/USD remains in an interesting spot as the bear-flag that developed in the pair throughout 2015 continues to illicit interest from buyers and sellers.
Chart prepared by James Stanley
And on the 4-hour chart below, we dial in to look at more near-term price action. We can see two different iterations of support developing around the big figure at 1.0500; but short-term resistance has come-in on the lower-line of that bear-flag shown above. If price action is able to break above this trend-line, then longer-term price action would’ve returned to the bullish trend-channel that made up that prior bear-flag formation.

Dr Celsus MD
The earliest surviving major medical treatise written in Latin, and the earliest Western history of medicine, is Celsus's De medicina: The Vatican Library has just digitized the Vat.lat.5951: This codex, known as V, and a similar 9th-century copy in Florence, plus another now lost, ensured De medicina survived the Middle Ages.
The author, Aulus Cornelius Celsus, who lived from c.25 BCE to c.50 CE, probably in Gallia Narbonensis, is presumed to have been a physician himself. Jeremy Norman calls this book the oldest western medical document after the Hippocratic writings. Serving Small Business Strategies: Blogging Anniversary 7
Congrats Small Business Owners! We’re celebrating Blogging Anniversary 7 of Brilliant Breakthroughs, Inc.
Serving Small Business Strategies: Blogging Anniversary 7
Today we celebrate Blogging Anniversary 7! Hard to believe that we’ve been serving up small business strategies for 7 years, with over 900 blogposts here for you, the Small Business Owner. Thank you for your many comments and phone calls over the years. It’s great hearing how the blogposts have helped you create brilliant breakthroughs for your business. For this reason, I celebrate with you!
To honor this year’s worth of wisdom-sharings, I wanted to write something really special. I’ve had so many different ideas of what I could share to honor this milestone. Yet one seems to stand out more than all the others – sharing snippets of my first blogpost.
Now, at first you’d think this was an easy thing to do, but it wasn’t. I admit my humble beginnings of this particular blog seems very elementary as a writer. Yet, I believe there’s beauty in our initial steps of something new and it shouldn’t be hidden. So today I’m going to share parts of it with you.
Before I share snippets I want to thank two gents that really fanned the flame of my writing muse: Roland, who gave me the challenge to beginning blogging again after I wrapped my initial blog. Then there was Keith, who is now my webmaster. Keith is exceptional and a great friend. Yes, I’m referencing the same Keith as in the below story.
I’m honored to have provided 7 years of blogging, as our slogan says, “Guiding & Simplifying Your Business Brilliance”. Look forward to our next steps together. Here’s some snippets from May 29, 2011’s blogpost:
Blogging Anniversary 7 – back to our 1st post:
(1st blog)—Hello Business Owners & Managers!
If you or your business needs rescuing or want to learn more about business strategies in a fun, practical and tactical manner than you found a great spot to subscribe. I strongly encourage everyone to engage in the conversation so we can all learn together 🙂
Have you ever had an experience like this?
“Hey, wait a minute… how I started this project and what it has really transformed into are two very different things!” Well I had this happen with my business’s identity (and my professional specialization identity as well) and it was really earth-shattering for me.
Picture this, Waukesha Wisconsin, April 2011. I feel like Sophia from The Golden Girls sitcom. About 2 months ago I was sitting with a wonderful and well connected gent who I had met during an awesome networking event. While we were sharing with each other what we do, I realized that I was at a loss of words when it was my turn to share. That’s right, someone that I am interfacing with for the first time and I had a Business Identity Crisis right in front of him. Unfortunately, there was no hiding it – I even cried. Yikes!
If you just imagine yourself here for a moment… someone asking you, “So, what you do?”  Next, out of your mouth falls words that are utterly empty and meaningless to you. So disconnected that you stop for a moment and say, “Gee, I knew I was finding a new way to express what I do, but I didn’t realize that I am so deeply into a [business] identity crisis…”
Rebounding from an unexpected awareness
Completely astonished, I shared with this compassionate gent that I would have to get back to him. The funny thing about all of this is that my offerings and expertise with my clients is no different than it was 2, 3, or even 20 months ago. My business needed a facelift and quick. Remember how I said this is one of the services I provide for clients? Well, it was time to apply them to myself!  So I tried to do the stuff we are all told to do and wasn’t even an inch closer to landing my new business’s image [yet].
It’s pretty cool that I know I’ll be tweaking this over time… but that’s the gist of it folks! So I thought I would dedicate this blog to my journey. Sharing my practical and tactical application of the Business Strategies from my upcoming book. I invite you to share the successes and challenges of your applications as well.
Over time you will see things like my website: BrilliantBreakthroughs.com, other social media activities. and my offerings morph.
Question for you: Is your Purpose and Mission Statement precise? If so, please share and gain some extra visibility. If not, share your challenges and let’s see what we can all learn together.
Blessings of Success to You~(1st blog concluded)—
Today we celebrate Blogging Anniversary 7!
What I find quite fascinating is we are beginning another iteration of a business facelift. 7 years later we’re in the middle of a very similar activity – without the business identity crisis! We do have our purpose, vision, and mission. Additionally, we know who we serve. We are in good shape… less the facelift!
Sometimes the packaging does matter. This is one of those times!
All Small Business Owners must keep their business fresh. Modernized businesses look upbeat, happening, and successful. If you aren’t looking like you own a modern business your customer attraction and sales will be minimized. It doesn’t matter how rocking you are!
How do I know this? I should have done a website revamp at least a year ago, but I was too busy working with my customers. They were achieving their business goals, and I wasn’t crushing it to the magnitude they were. Now, I assure you that was an eye-opener! Thus, our site’s revamp is already in progress! This revamp isn’t just a facelift – there’s much more being added.
I’m excited with these new possibilities of being able to serve you better. Stay tuned! Thanks for following us for the past 7 years of blogging and I look forward to continuing to bring you excellent content that adds value to simplifying your business’s success.
We move beyond our Blogging Anniversary 7 and turn the focus to you:

Small Business Owners exercising daily independence
Small Business Owners harvest the independence of our nation’s liberty.
Small Business Owners exercising daily independence
Independence Day conversations include topics of freedom, liberty, independence, and happiness. This past year I’ve been doing some very deep listening to Small Business Owners (SBOs) discussing such topics.
What do you think I learned? Yes, you guessed right. Those who spoke of these topics were the least successful of all. I found this fascinating!
Undeniably, Small Business Ownership allows freedoms to occur. Yes, there are SBOs who are romanticizing about such independence. They don’t appear to be as dependable as those who utilize their independence to support their business success instead of sabotage it.
Isn’t this interesting?
Below is a revisit of a blogpost (or at least a portion of it) that was initially published July 1, 2016: https://www.brilliantbreakthroughs.com/pursuit-of-happiness-business-ownership/
The Pursuit of Happiness & Successful Business Ownership
The “pursuit of happiness” is a controversial phrase in The Declaration of Independence of the United States of America.
Today we would call the 1700s “happiness” either luck or chance.
Nothing says independence stronger than one having the opportunity to secure their finances on their own terms.
Over 200 years after this document was created, SBOs are still on track with the original intention of this concept.
Let YOUR Business Work for YOU!
My followers know that I am a B-I-G proponent of working diligently and then playing it up large.
Here’s how to know how you need to pay for the second half of the year. Click on this article: How to Review YOUR Business Performance for the first half of this year. Apply what is stated. Then set your course to have a stronger second half of this year.
Profitable years don’t just happen. Great years typically involve strategy and execution of favorable strategies.
Gift yourself this over-simplified performance review. It will assure your pursuit of happiness is on track for the rest of this year!
Curious what America’s Declaration of Independence really says? It might surprise you! Read it here: Declaration of Independence, 1776. Have a safe and happy Independence Day America!
Do you need to tighten up on your Small Business Freedom to better support YOUR Business’s Success?

Daily Practices of Successful Small Business Owners
Daily Practices free up more time for Small Business Owners. Don’t delay this action item!
Daily Practices of Successful Small Business Owners
Daily practices are essential to success. All Performance Coaches teach the power of daily routines, rituals, or habits and how it supports success. Business success is supported by a strong daily practice as well.
Daily routines of practicing certain tasks isn’t commonly practiced nor discussed by Small Business Owners (SBOs).
Why? They are usually too busy jumping from one type of task to another.
Yet, this is precisely why it is advantageous for SBOs to create daily routines for themselves and their businesses.
Which activities can become part of a Daily Practice?
Common business activities which can be referenced as part of Small Business Owners daily practices may be:
serving customers
networking
emailing
making appointments
bookkeeping
follow-up communications
social media touch-ins
sales appointments
marketing
planning tomorrow’s activities at the end of the day today
Now, we know every business is different with its required daily activities. Select some of these that are already on YOUR Daily To-Do Lists. Then follow the 5 Action Items below.
5 Action Items to Build YOUR Daily Practices
Come up with a list of your daily activities.
Build them into your calendar – yes, just like appointments.
Work your plan for 2-3 weeks.
Adjust to better support daily performance.
Repeat above 5 steps until YOUR Daily Practice supports YOUR Small Business Success well.
I know this seems like extra work.  At first it is because you’re creating a new habit.
Brilliant Breakthroughs Big Question:
What if developing and following YOUR Daily Practice would free up one hour a day or even give you a better peace of mind throughout the day? Would that be enough incentive for you?
FYI: That’s 5 hours a week- almost a day off. Isn’t that one of the things on your bucket lists? Gaining more time for your personal life begins by planning YOUR Business Success! Get busy making this happen and everything will start to change for you.
REMEMBER: Create the plan; execute the plan. Allow the plan to work for you!
Please feel free to comment or ask a question about daily practices or something else if you’d like me to support YOUR Small Business Success further.
