I was once again thinking about this goofy Luffy moment after his Lucci punch™ and i had to see it frame by frame.
first the force of it throws them both away, and while Lucci is seen on screen tumbling for a long moment, Luffy is just away in a blink of an eye.
and then his funny scene - his legs are like jelly that he tries to get under control,
he stumbles, falls, rolls into a mix of all his limbs and eyes,
and then only the cloud behind him cushions his fall
- which would be interesting if he can subconsciously control that while he tries to regain the control over his movements - that the environment around him still adapts to his awakened Devil Fruit abilities and morphs to help him. Where others would probably fall through that cloud, for Luffy that cloud backs him up like a trampoline.
It's just fascinating!

One of the things I am most fascinated by in One Piece is the continuity between this small angry child, and the happy-go-lucky pirate he becomes.

#delete later#another journal entry 📝 for the void#i have not been sleeping well for the past 2 wks 😵💫 i always wake up like clockwork after 5-6 hrs which feels like not nearly enough#i feel like i've done everything there is to do (consistent exercise + consistent sleep times + earplugs + weighted blanket + no caffeine)#last night i took melatonin too but no... same problem staying asleep 😭#ahh whatever. i'm just frustrated that it has to be this way :(#anyways in an act of spite i reread like the 4 wips that have been sitting in my drafts from the past few weeks#i think something that will never cease to surprise me about writing is that more effort/time doesn't necessarily translate to better#results; i suppose that's the case with all kinds of art but#it does feel somewhat unintuitive. one of my fav professors in uni said to not dismiss those 'lightning in a bottle' moments (in art) as#blind luck... but to instead analyze the circumstances and iterate on recreating them. and i think one of my artist friends who i deeply#respect said something similar (wrt artistic rituals/setup). i have too many thoughts on writing and on my own creative processes and#weaknesses to fit into any number of tags here. :') that said...#*shakes ch2 draft* after everything i did and all the hours i spent WHY are you still so bad?!!! finally back to lifting after a neck tumor removal surgery!!! possibly a bad move to start off this ambitious... but im feeling pretty cool to have done 10 unassisted pull-ups right off the bat! B) im a ways off of my past leg press weight but i'll work back up to it in time! (the bakery cant go out of business like this, i wont let her)
#my left arm feels d e a d though lmao#it straight up wont relax all the way#thats ok tho <3 she'll heal#god ive missed actually using muscles :')#'you cant lift more than 20 pounds for the next 2 weeks and no more than 40 for the next 6' ... WELL ITS BEEN 7 AND A HALF...#i did start to feel some pain at the surgery site :/ so i stopped and we'll try again later this week#but still!!!!!!!#glad to be back ive missed using my body#its been miserable just sitting on the internet and loafing for the last 2 months#and prior to that i couldnt workout for like 3 months before the surgery bc id feel the tumor pushing against my neck tendons lol#and exercise strained it#so all in all i havent worked out like this in 5? almost 6 months?#and i wasnt that consistent even before that#so its been a g e s since i really worked out my arms#so grateful to get to move my body again :')

if i might bitch about work for a second: yesterday was hellishly bad despite being able to keep up with it and i found out that apparently our department made 4600 dollars yesterday which is making me angry beyond belieffffffff
#this is math i do fairly often bc i enjoy ho-hum math and hate my job and like#even if we took off 2000 bucks for overhead costs which feels excessive but i will concede it#that would be enough to pay everyone working a little over 860 dollars which is 300 more than what i make in a WEEK#literally WHEREEEEE IS IT WHERE IS IT GOING WHERE IS IT#i dont like following this logic through because on days where there are fewer orders we;d do less#and i disagree with gig work's implementation as ive seen it and i think that would stress people out worse than we already are#(which is significantly)#but at the same time. 850 dollars. i cant afford to buy groceries this week. 850 dollars...#can i get a BONUS or SOMETHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!#it makes me soooo angry i was talking to one of the deli guys who asked for a raise and got denied mid-question#before our director accidentally showed him that their department is four thousand of gods own dollars under labor#its so revolting to me i talk to so many people in this store who are terrified because of medical bills or rent or car shit#half my department works two jobs just to get by and ALL OF THEM drive junkers#honestly one of the things thats scaring me about if i actually move out is that i do rely on...living with my mom#i pay for most of my own food i pay an absurd amount of rent to share a room with her but she's willing to drive me to work#even though i've offered to walk multiple times and she REALLY should prioritize her own time more#but at the same time...not having to pay for rides has been carrying me hard#if i got a car i'd be fucked because those things bleed money and generally ethically i disagree with cars#but if i dont its like okay pony up the money learn to navigate buses (except for sunday when they dont run) or get ready#to walk to your job where you walk all day and then walk home in the dark#which. i love walking. and listening to music on my own while walking. so bad example. but i also love not having my feet hurt#all the time always no matter what im doing which is something im becoming increasingly unfamiliar with#its like. ultimately. something's gonna get fucked no matter what#and then i hear a figure like 4600 and i remember how avoidable all of this shit is. how avoidable it is for ANY of us#our ceo is gonna walk away from this merger attempt with 5 billion dollars in safety-cushion money#the 10 top execs beneath him with 1 billion#and its just so. what can you even do. 5 billion. can a number like that even mean anything? how could you possibly need that much#850 dollars would be a lifechanging amount of money for me right now and im not even one of the worst off#its just. god. this world could be anything but what it is but its this and for what

Really random, but I would like to tell everyone that if you are feeling exhausted and never have energy and it feels like doing anything takes so much effort..... if you can, please get a blood test and see what your vitamin D levels are at
-signed, someone who finally got a primary doctor after years and found out they were super duper vitamin d deficient, and after 6 months of taking supplements feels like a human being again
#this of course does not solve any mental issues. obviously.#or people with much more complex fatigue sources#but i cannot stress how much literally just getting my vitamin d levels up from rock bottom has made me feel alive again#i didnt realize how bad i felt until i suddenly had energy again#truly a random post. i was getting my pill boxes set up for the next week and was suddenly overwhelming grateful to my vitamin d pills#oh if anyone cares apparently the normal range is 30-100 units..... and i was 8#my doctor literally went 'hmm... well i mean... ive had someone at a 5 before so its not the worst?'#like damn alright we need to compare to your worst off patient to my numbers? lmao

Feels so delicate <3#My shapes have been feeling weird lately - general construction-wise style-wise y'know - and with my .3 it all just flows so nicely#I get so stubborn about Only Using The Correct Tool but like - I have multiple tools for a reason! Pfft#I'm having fun that's the important part haha I'll point some of them out when they post#Oddly enough it's actually kind of hard for even me to tell the difference by sight - it's much more a tactile feedback thing! How strange ♪

the new battleground looks terrible
if you mix anything with escorting mine carts/payloads/whatever i will hate it. i hate silvershard mines. have had way too many bad games in that one
i dont even do random bgs anymore. too many tryhards in a casual mode these days. miss doing epics
#too many premades too#it's why i stopped doing them#really miss alterac valley#i miss the big games that were close#but every game is a rush and if youre not fast enough and strong enough youre not gonna win lmao#or smart enough as well#it makes me think of deepwind gorge too#i do not miss the old version of that battleground#the modern version is just arathi basin but so much worse#idek if its still in the battleground list lmao#strand of the ancients was fun when u were winning but it also kinda sucked because vehicles#isle of conquest is a hit or miss#when it's obvious youre losing it really sucks but close games are really fun#wintergrasp. i dont think i need to say anything#love the music but my god the epic bg version is just godawful#absolutely nothing like the old days when it was new#anyway rant over#oh yeah ashran. that one is fun if im not doing it 5 times in a row lmao#anyway i dont do bgs anymore. no more time nor energy for that#im gonna do m+ now :D hopefully this week hdshgh if i have the confidence

almost done... 🙏
#before yvverse i was never the kind of person to write 4-6k word chapters#i have been writing this chapter since february 6th#it was agonizingly difficult... line by line crises type of difficult D:#i still have no clue how people like write thousands of words in a day and then hit post 🥲 i have spent so long on this. i think i spent#an hour this morning writing one paragraph#but now that the finish line is in sight i just feel so ready to post it (even though it is not done. and needs at least 500 more words#on top of editing)#anyways. apologies for yapping 🙇♀️#in terms of difficulty... i feel like writing this series has been eye opening to me as to what i find difficult to write? which is#interesting. fool me twice pt5 was also hard for me in the sense that i rewrote it no fewer than 5 times... and this installment was hard#in a different way. T_T i want to claim victory! but not yet! i haven't earned it#anyways... please expect the next chapter at some point over the next week (and if it's not there i have likely fallen into another crisis)
