think it’s sad that jaime doesn’t have any positive memories of merrett frey, his own cousin. i wouldn’t say in close to my several branches of cousins, but i can supply a fun story or two for each one, from when we were kids, before our parents’ own lives interfered and then defined our own. but all jaime has is the memories of being a squire, of being embarrassed of his frey siblings. a world so cruel, so defined by blood and violence, you can’t even supply a few memorial typical memories about your own blood.

Penny Junor and her narrative regarding princess Diana’s mental health is wrong on many different levels

1. You don’t diagnose dead people. Like at all. Even if she consulted a therapist (she said she did) it is still unethical and it is a thing they cancel you for in psychology and other disciplines

2. People with BPD are not dangerous monsters. Mainly the only person they are dangerous to is themselves

3. It is normal thing to not act “normal” in your close circle of friends and family. It is a common thing even for mentally stable people let alone for people with mental illnesses

4. BPD has many symptoms. Hallucinating is not one of them. Stop saying “It’s all in your head and it has never happened”. People with BPD can overthink and exaggerate. Making things up and seeing stuff that never happened? Not so much

5. People with mental disorders can have families and children. It is none of your business to criticize someone else’s parenting style and saying “you damaged your kids”. Because nobody asked. And the last thing people with mental health issues need to hear is “you are the reason everything is falling apart”

Do I acknowledge not everyone is the same? Yes. Do I agree that there are assholes who have mental health issues? Yes, I do. But let me tell you something: they will still be assholes even if they heal, it is not a consequence of having a disorder

And may i remind you: Diana died and can’t say anything to protect herself. So brave of you to punch a dead woman, Mrs. Junor, M’am, so courageous, now try anyone who can drag you to court for your allegations

Summer was sitting on her bed in Team STRQ’s dorm room. If she’d had to pick a word to describe how she was feeling at the moment, “dumbfounded” was the only one that came to mind. One minute she’d been getting ready for bed, and the next minute Raven and Qrow had burst into the room. Raven had then frantically proceeded to explained to Summer that she and her brother had, apparently, been recruited by Ozpin to be secret agents of some kind, and that she’d, somehow, eavesdropped on a meeting between two of Vale’s criminal gangs. And if all of that wasn’t enough, it seemed that some mysterious person had hired these gangs to hunt Summer herself down because of her eye color. If it had been anyone other than Raven saying the crazy things she was saying, even Headmaster Ozpin himself, Summer wouldn’t have believed them.

Qrow and Taiyang were presently sitting on Qrow’s bed together across from Summer, and Raven was anxiously pacing back and forth in the middle of the room. It unsettled Summer to see how distressed Raven was acting given how unflappable she usually was. It really drove home the point of how serious the situation was.

“Okay. Well…” Summer said, struggling to think of anything to add to the conversation. “Did you tell Ozpin yet?”

“No,” Raven said.

“Shouldn’t you?” Summer asked.

“He already knows. He’s got to already know!” Raven said, practically ranting at this point. “He just wanted me to see it! To see her! What’s he even going to do about it? He’ll just keep on playing his stupid games!”

As June watches Alex and Nora out on the dancefloor, deep in conversation and slowly grinding against each other, she thinks there’s probably a new circle in hell being created for her as they speak. She’s never really sure these days if they’re actually together or not; there’s times she’s certain Nora is flirting with her, and she doesn’t think she would do that if she and Alex were a thing. She’s heard Alex say they had barely been a thing, really, but she’s not sure what the perpetual flirting they seem to do means if that’s the case. Are they just in some kind of fuck-buddy arrangement, or is that all just playing to the press on the campaign trail? June wishes she knew, but until she does, she really needs to stop lusting after the girl, no – woman that may or may not be her brother’s situation-ship. The two of them come back to the table, and when Nora plops down next to her and throws her arm around her shoulders, she decides maybe her resolution to stop lusting after Nora will have to wait. Alex heads to the bar to grab another round, and June is left at the table with Nora. As she builds up the courage to ask Nora what is going on with her and Alex, Nora turns to her, and she can almost feel how her eyes sweep her body. “So, when are you going to kiss me, June, or are all you Claremont-Diazes that slow on the uptake when someone is interested in you?’ June looks at her, flabbergasted, and all that comes out is, “Huh?” Nora moves closer and says, “For fuck’s sake, June, I’m going to kiss you; if you don’t want me to, you need to speak up now.” June still isn’t sure she can form words, so she nods, squeaking out a “Please” before Nora’s lips are on hers. June has kissed a few girls, but kissing Nora feels right in a way that kissing has never felt. She’s unsure how long they’ve been kissing when they are kissing when they’re interrupted by Alex. “Fuck, Nora, that’s my sister. This is the girl you were talking about wanting to kiss? Why did you do that to me? I’m never going to be able to get out of my head the things you said you wanted to do to her.” He huffs as he sits down, and the smile on his face tells June he’s not really upset, just being Alex. She’s glad that maybe her own personal level in hell isn’t necessary, as she’d really miss being here with two of her favorite people.

Raven was sitting in Professor Vatten’s history class, exactly like she had been yesterday. Also like yesterday, she wasn’t listening to a word being said. However, this time her lack of attentiveness wasn’t because she was wallowing in the depths of despair. In a way, it was for the opposite reason. A strange conundrum was simmering inside of her head. Her recent identity crisis hadn’t gone away, but today she’d finally been able to set aside the question of who she was and instead ask herself who she wanted to be.

The way Summer had spoken yesterday had made it sound like Raven changing who she was was merely a choice, as if Raven could just snap her fingers and become one of the world’s protectors. The very notion of it was ridiculous, and yet Raven couldn’t quite say why. Why couldn’t she just decide to become a huntress? She fully acknowledged that it would be a better life for her, if not a safer one. Why wouldn’t she take such an opportunity to be loved and respected instead of hated and feared? But no matter how many times Raven tried to convince herself that it could be done, she still didn’t believe it.

Thoughts continue to spin around and around in Raven’s mind, thoughts enough to drive her mad. But unlike yesterday, she was able to keep herself grounded, because today she finally had an anchor she could rely on. As unbelievable as it was, she had Summer. Memories of last night drifted into Raven’s head. She’d never once imagined that she’d get into bed with someone and only be concerned about their pleasure instead of her own. But she had. What was even more extraordinary was that it had been so much more satisfying than any cheap thrill she’d ever gotten from any of her many, many one-night stands. It was further evidence to Raven that love really was a form of madness. But was being mad really such a bad thing?
