We're Back!

It's been nearly 5 months since the Pro League Elimination tournament. A lot has happened since then! It's up to me to catch you all up to speed! Here we go!

After winning the tournament, Demon Drive went on a worldwide tour! X tagged along as their bouncer. They all had an amazing time! Being dubbed the greatest corestrike players of all time really helps with ticket sales.

Rasmus, Kazan, and Nao further devoted themselves to Clarion Corp. They've all been hard at work for quite some time. A few announcements reveal that they're rapidly increasing their Omega energy studies.

Atlas went back to his lab to push his own technology even further.

Juno was finally enrolled in school. So she and Luna had their hands full with school. Especially since I heard that the pair gets into a lot of trouble.

Without her team, Asher has been doing every odd job she can find to support her family.

Zentaro is right behind her. He's also trying to raise money to bring his parents over.

Ai.Mi still plays corestrike as a free agent. She's still really good!

Finii is trying to get famous any way she can. TV appearances. Youtube videos. Livestreams. It's hard NOT to see her!

Rune has been focusing on his connection with Obscura. He's trying to gain control over it. I hear he's making good progress!

Era spent months searching for Kai. Eventually, she finally found him in hotel 700 miles away. He spent a whole 2 months recovering. But he's thankfully better now. Kai may not have been the nicest striker, but I'm glad he's okay.

Me and Dubu haven't stopped striking. Even without Estelle. She went back to focusing on her modeling career. But, we have a new third member: Drek'ar! Since his team kinda also disbanded, he joined ours! And I thought I was intense! Drek'ar is unstoppable on the arena. The three of us are gonna make a name for ourselves.

Throughout all of this, we've managed to stay connected. All of us. We chat regularly online. And we all play corestrike together, despite where all our lives have taken us.

Sure, it may be the off-season. Sure, the game isn't receiving new content often. Sure, corestrike may no longer be the primary focus for everyone now. But we're still here. We're still together. And that extends to our fans. Thank you all so much for staying with us through thick and thin. It's you that keeps this fanbase alive. Your love. Your devotion. Your passion. The Scottish actor Archibald Duncan was born in Glasgow on 26th May 1914.

His father was a regimental sergeant major and his mother a postmistress. He was educated at Govan High School and afterwards and worked as a welder in the Glasgow shipyards.

It was at the Citizens Theatre Company that Duncan joined the training ground of many Scottish actors including, Molly Urquart, Duncan Macrae, Gordon Jackson and Eileen Herlie. He then made his Scottish acting debut in Juno and the Paycock, playing all three gunmen, at Glasgow's Alhambra in May 1944.

Duncan went on to star in London's West End with the likes of the great Scottish character actor Alistair Sim and the late George Cole. Film roles started to follow with , Floodtide , The Gorballs Story, The Elusive Pimpernel, Green Grow the Rushes, Henry V, The Lavender Hill Mob, You're Only Young Twice and Walt Disney's The Story Of Robin Hood and his Merrie Men as 'Red Gill' amongst many others. Duncan also teamed up with Richard Todd and James Robertson Justice in Disney’s Rob Roy the Highland Rogue as Dugal Mac Gregor.

One of Duncan's first big TV roles was as Inspector Lestrade in the 1954 series Sherlock Holmes, but perhaps Archibald Duncan is best remembered for his second Robin Hood role, where 6'2" Duncan played Little John alongside Richard Greene in The Adventures of Robin Hood which ran for 143 episodes on ITV here and CBS in the states from 1955 to 1959. I just had a wee look and many of the episodes are on Youtube.

Duncan's portrayal of Little John would be fondly remembered decades later for his combination of strength, skill and humour. It was during the filming this unforgettable series that this Scottish gentle giant proved to be a true hero and managed to prevent a runaway horse from hurtling towards a group of spectators, consisting of mainly children, watching close by. For this brave feat, he was awarded the Queen’s Commendation for Bravery and £1,360 in "damages". But it also resulted in him missing the recording of eleven episodes of Robin Hood. So between times, a replacement was found in fellow Scotsman, Rufus Cruickshank.

Another great Scottish film he appeared in was Ring of Bright Water. Archie Duncan's career in television production carried on with parts in programmes like Z Cars, Hereward the Wake, Orlando, Black Beauty and Bootsie and Snudge.

Sadly in 1978 he suffered a massive stroke which caused paralysis down his right side. Sadly he passed away at Whipps Cross Hospital in Leytonstone, London aged 65 on 24th July 1979.

hi baby! how are you doing sweet thing?? i hope you are your pets are doing well, that you are taking care of yourself and that the job is still jobbing. i haven't been around in forever and i feel like i've missed sooo much, including the start of the 2000 celebration!?!? blasphemous.

so how could i not participate in matchmaker?? the idea of THE elle judging me and pairing me with our lovely wizards and witches made me all mushy.

so! my favorite colors as of right now are orangy-red, cornflower blue, and brown.

favorite things to do are reading (duh), going on hikes, last minute dinner dates with my friends, having long philosophical conversations about life, drawing and doing art while a lil blazed, and dancing and singing to whatever music obsession of the week (rn it's erykah badu, sade, 90s rap n hip hop, kendrick. led zepplin always)

my favorite movies are fantastic mr. fox, juno, grey gardens, and shrek. my all time favorite shows are the muppet show and adventure time, but i also love phineas and ferb, ouran hs host club (for nostalgia), and the calarts short film finals when they come out (highly recommend, they are all on youtube and INCREDIBLE).

 i love elephants fish, and bears for animals (it's so hard to choose!).

It's weird how a YouTube comment I made like 2 weeks ago defined the course of my day...

So like, the person in the video had some patch cables in some cool colors (🏳️‍⚧️) that I commented on and they pointed me to Winterbloom, and I finally checked them out and they seem pretty cool and I'll definitely be getting stuff from them. And they've got a neat dual VCO, but the really crazy part is it's the same person who did the whole blog post about the design of the Roland Juno DCO's, which is what inspired my current DCO adventure, so it's like almost exactly the direction I've been going. Anyway, this led me down a huge rabbit hole about creating a sound and I feel like I'm actually starting to figure all this stuff out

The Scottish actor Archibald Duncan was born in Glasgow on 26th May 1914.

His father was a regimental sergeant major and his mother a postmistress. He was educated at Govan High School and afterwards and worked as a welder in the Glasgow shipyards.

It was at the Citizens Theatre Company that Duncan joined the training ground of many Scottish actors including, Molly Urquart, Duncan Macrae, Gordon Jackson and Eileen Herlie. He then made his Scottish acting debut in Juno and the Paycock, playing all three gunmen, at Glasgow's Alhambra in May 1944.

Duncan went on to star in London's West End with the likes of the great Scottish character actor Alistair Sim and the late George Cole. Film roles started to follow with , Floodtide , The Gorballs Story, The Elusive Pimpernel, Green Grow the Rushes, Henry V, The Lavender Hill Mob, You're Only Young Twice and Walt Disney's The Story Of Robin Hood and his Merrie Men as 'Red Gill' amongst many others. Duncan also teamed up with Richard Todd and James Robertson Justice in Disney’s Rob Roy the Highland Rogue as Dugal Mac Gregor.

One of Duncan's first big TV roles was as Inspector Lestrade in the 1954 series Sherlock Holmes, but perhaps Archibald Duncan is best remembered for his second Robin Hood role, where 6'2" Duncan played Little John alongside Richard Greene in The Adventures of Robin Hood which ran for 143 episodes on ITV here and CBS in the states from 1955 to 1959. I just had a wee look and many of the episodes are on Youtube.

Duncan's portrayal of Little John would be fondly remembered decades later for his combination of strength, skill and humour. It was during the filming this unforgettable series that this Scottish gentle giant proved to be a true hero and managed to prevent a runaway horse from hurtling towards a group of spectators, consisting of mainly children, watching close by. For this brave feat, he was awarded the Queen’s Commendation for Bravery and £1,360 in "damages". But it also resulted in him missing the recording of eleven episodes of Robin Hood. So between times, a replacement was found in fellow Scotsman, Rufus Cruickshank.

Another great Scottish film he appeared in was Ring of Bright Water. Archie Duncan's career in television production carried on with parts in programmes like Z Cars, Hereward the Wake, Orlando, Black Beauty and Bootsie and Snudge.

Sadly in 1978 he suffered a massive stroke which caused paralysis down his right side. Sadly he passed away at Whipps Cross Hospital in Leytonstone, London aged 65 on 24th July 1979.

Did Not Like prince of mars or day that wouldn’t die, and i’m kind of surprised that i didn’t quit? like, okay, prince of mars has genuine structural problems (that they go into on penumbuddies as well - i totally agree that it has too much plot, which is part of why i have gaping holes in my memory of those episodes) that make it less effective than the revamped murderous mask episodes, and i guess i kept going because i loved juno as a narrator, and then day that wouldn’t die is a genuinely good story that i just wasn’t super into, partially because i was upset by the sibling death and partially because, while i ADORE mick mercury, i couldn’t understand his role as anything other than comic relief.

but on penumbuddies they started talking about mick as a storyteller, and yeah, okay, that tracks, and then for day that wouldn’t die they talk about mick as this guy who clearly misremembers the past and carries it with him in a way that’s very different than sasha and juno - for sasha and juno, it’s shameful, it’s this thing where they failed to protect someone, and it informs a lot of their current decisions, whereas for mick it’s this sort of tragic adventure story where he has become the leader in his mind and that makes it technically his fault that annie died, but he also doesn’t seem to carry that guilt forward into any changed behavior (for better or worse)

but then they start talking about the past as a story you tell yourself, and how mick’s memories of this event have been altered because he’s been taking on all the blame since juno and sasha left, and idk??? all of a sudden i feel much more sympathetic to sasha as a character and to the idea of mick as the ultimate unreliable narrator who, by being so CLEARLY an unreliable narrator, throws all of the narration in the junoverse into question. we see that a lot more in season 3 - mick’s episode is clearly altered, vespa’s episodes go a lot into not being able to trust your senses and your subjective reality being different in a very noticeable way - and suddenly mick as a character becomes SO important for understanding the show, and i don’t have any more thoughts here because i’m not good at meta and this is mostly regurgitating things they talk about on penumbuddies
