background

introducing song hangyul, born on 31st december 1998 and wanting to debut as an actor !

he was born and raised in jeju until moving to seoul in 2001 ( when he was 3 ).

ex taekwondo athlete, gave it up in order to pursue what he really wanted to do.

his parents weren't too happy about it because they wanted him to continue with taekwondo, but his heart always leant more towards acting, but eventually after a lot of begging and pleading, they let him pursue acting instead.

not too long after, his parents split up simply because the romance just wasn't there anymore, which wasn't a bad thing for hangyul because they were both still actively in his life, just with some adjustments.

studied hard and did well in school, enrolled to uni to study acting, finished uni. auditioned for legacy in july 2020 and passed, becoming a trainee !

he didn't want to rush any opportunities that came up and instead wanted to focus more on enhancing his skills which is why he didn't rush into moving to the acting path ( yet ).

personality

he's a very sweet guy with a pretty playful side, he's a chill guy and outgoing, really that kind of guy who will offer you his shoulder if you need to cry. he's really carefree, he see's the beauty in the little things in life and i think that's what makes him so endearing too??? things like watching the sunrise, a cup of coffee in the morning, seeing the morning buzz of people heading to work etc, things like that easily make him smile.

honestly, he's a hopeful guy?? and i think that can make him come across as a little bit naïve, some people might think he's silly for seeing the world in such bright, lovely colors when it's not always like that.

a mommas boy fr, after his parents split up, he always made sure she was doing okay. he'd cook a lot for her or help out with cooking, he essentially was like a rock to her.

cares a lot about the people close to him, and he'll show it through ways like acts of service. you'll know if you're someone close to him.

he's hard working and believes that hard work pays off, and he's not the type of person to step on others to get what he wants. he wants to do things properly, the right way and earn his way up rightfully.

he's kinda clumsy, he breaks something at least once a week and he'll apologise 80 times and feel bad about it for the next week too.

he is NOT a night owl, the latest he'll sleep is like.. midnight, he loves waking up in the morning because to him, every morning is a brand new day with new opportunities !

essentially, he's like that person you want in your life, simply because he's so hopeful and uplifting and being around him is just.. inspiring and motivating.

random, brief plots

flower garden friends / hangyul loves flowers, another thing he see's beauty in and he loves visiting flower gardens and things like that, so someone who also loves flowers or visiting flower gardens. perhaps they found a shared interest and decided to visit together, or they simply bumped into each other there. minjun.

reality check / someone who maybe hasn't had it easy, has had a difficult life and knows how hard and complicated the world can be, perhaps they're annoyed at how optimistic hangyul can be and try to give him a reality check ( or this could be adjusted where hangyul tries his best to show your muse that the world can be an enjoyable place too ).

close friends / when hangyul joined legacy, he struggled to settle in a bit because it was all so new to him, and perhaps your muse was one of the first friends he made here.

under the facade friends / someone who's seen hangyul down, unlike himself and saw how he really can be when he's his his usual, bubbly, happy and uplifting self. maybe your muse knows how he is usually, or your muse doesn't know what he's usually like. someone who's seen that side to him that he rarely ever shows ( more so because he doesn't get like that often ).

soulmates / quite literally, hangyul's person. best friends. platonic soulmates. two peas in a pod, the one person he'll show all sides of himself to without a worry that your muse will judge him. jinyoung.

blind date / a fun plot where perhaps their parents set them up on a blind date at some point. whether they knew each other prior to the date or not can be discussed.

issues / someone who just has an issue with hangyul for whatever reason. he has no clue why, and even though he's usually always kind and carefree, it bugs him that your muse has a distaste for him and he wants to know why.

solo performance #1 (wjsn - secret)

for junkyu's chosen song, he's decided to go with wjsn's secret, it's a song that he really liked when it was released and has in his kpop playlist, a wjsn song he really likes. out of the songs provided, he was torn between choosing wjsn's secret or cherry bullet's hands up, though decided to go with secret as he wanted to try something different and a little bit out of his comfort zone.

while junkyu knew it would be a tough song to adjust musically to fit him, he was confident that he has some good ideas in ways to switch it up and give it a more modern, lesser kpop vibe to it, almost with a keshi vibe to it.

in the original song, there's a very clear, bubbly girly kpop sound to it, whereas for junkyu's edition of the song, he decided to bring the tempo down so it was slower, and to bring the pitch lower in order to match his more deeper voice. while it wasn't something he was completely confident about, he wanted to showcase his improvement in his singing skills lately. regarding backing tracks and instrumentals, junkyu decides to remove a lot from the original and include a guitar, though making it a subtle addition that enhances the sound but isn't too distracting from the singing or lyrics. he chooses not to have too much going on in the background, but enough that the instrumental doesn't feel empty or lacking.

taking a deeper look into the lyrics, junkyu thought that a slower edition of the song would be a fun change from the original, so he was able to bring a new feeling to the song as well as the lyrics.

while he wanted to focus more on the singing aspect for secret, he also wanted to incorporate some of his rapping skills, so he included aspects of rapping and decided to stick to the rap section from the original but adjusting it to fit the flow of junkyu's version, he decided to do a slower rap as one thing he knew about rapping, is that it wasn't always about speed.

while the original choreography is very girly, he decides to strip choreography to a subtle almost ballet influence in order to focus on showcasing singing and rap while also emphasising the lyrics. he decides not to make it too intense, rather the moves soft and yearning almost in order to showcase the emotions from the lyrics and tell a story.

while junkyu's english was quite minimal, with the language workshops his knowledge has been improving and his pronunciation, so he decides to choose a fun and upbeat song from his '3am' playlist, featuring songs he finds smooth and enjoyable. he knew it would be incredibly difficult, but his english knowledge was better than his japanese, so he opted for this song. it's also a song he really likes simply because every time he hears it, his head is always bobbing and his legs are bouncing, he finds it a fun listen and sometimes, just enjoying a song without thinking too much about it was just as fun.

this song has a mix of singing as well as some rapping, which junkyu feels confident in mixing together, as it means he's more entirely focusing on singing nor rapping.

for all i wanna do, junkyu changes the lyrics to a more sfw environment from the original, changing the nsfw lyrics to things like 'money'. while the track stays close to the original, he decides to remove some of the original sounds in the track and add some synth sounds into the mix to add to the backing to give it a slightly different feel.

since his first solo performance was less intense with choreography, he wanted his second performance to focus more on showcasing his choreography skills and rapping skills. he decides to stick with most of the original choreography, only changing the more risqué parts to a cleaner version. though with the choreography, he decides not to spend the whole time dancing and wants to engage with what would be the audience in order to make it different and bring people in.

so, i’ve been in this creative writing class all quarter, and i’ve been working on a story (with the help of my love @wooahaes). it’s a love triangle between a fem!reader (the oc was originally female) and two male!best friends. i’m planning to post the first draft (more lighthearted) of it as a fic after the quarter ends (the final more angsty one still needs lots of editing but i’m also posting it as a separate fic because it ended up super different).

i’m in need of two members for it!! i have two ideas that people can vote on, and would be interested in seeing which one people like more! might change my mind later on, but these were the members that first came to my mind as i was writing

junkyu himself couldn't deny that misaki was truly making him laugh, whether intended or not, he couldn't help but chuckle at the moments where his pout seemed completely etched into his lips, almost like it was permanently stuck there. the sight was amusing, it was no secret, and junkyu finds himself grinning nonstop to the point where his face is starting to hurt. he didn't quite know how this little challenge would go, but even if he had lost or won, part of him already knows that whatever reactions misaki gave would leave him the exact same state he is right now. grinning, laughing, and happily amused.

he could already imagine what misaki would be like in variety shows, lively, excited with challenges like this and if he won. but even losing, the reactions now were still amusing and he could already imagine the way it'd be edited. funny and cute editing, the sad music playing over the top as the scene cuts to a devastated misaki. the thought has him chuckling once again.

"this can be a practice round, next time, i bet you'll win. i'll be on the losing team." junkyu comforts him, patting his head once more with a smile visible across his face. the sight of him dropping his head has junkyu kneeling down ever so slightly to peek at him through his bangs, and when he asks about taiyaki from the cafe near the company, the elder chuckles once more. "taiyaki for you, you got it. i'll even buy you two portions."

the sight of misaki so pouty, his voice all whiny and sulking was sight junyu couldn’t help but find amusing, and even a little adorable at the way the pout just continue tugging on the edges of his lips. with his reaction, it was hard not to find it amusing, especially when he was quite literally just allowing junkyu to hug him. it was almost like he was in his own little world, sulking away that he didn’t care what junkyu was doing and the chuckle that falls from him was one of pure amusement.

when misaki starts to lean his weight into him, junkyu pushes himself into the ground more to hold them both up, securing his arms around him more so neither of them went tumbling onto the floor. while it’d be funny, junkyu thinks that might be the last straw for the pouty boy wrapped up in his arms. his laughter grows more at the comment of ’my win’, trying his absolute damn best not to crack up laughing even more.

it’s almost like a mix between an energetic kid who’s had a ton of sweets who has now been told he can’t have any more, and junkyu moves a hand to gently pat misaki’s head. “it was a good try, it was, you almost had it.” junkyu retorts, fighting off the chuckle that he was now smiling widely. “what would cheer you up? free food? a ’you-did-your-best’ medal?”
