Did you ever notice that in the japanese version of beyblade, Kit would repeat words? For example, I remember one of the lines he says is “not really, I’m having fun!!” Which was pronounced as “Īe, tanoshii” but he says “ie tanoshii-shii” and continues to do this throughout the japanese version. Idk, i just thought that vocal tic detail was interesting!!

I never caught that! Because I don't know very much Japanese [like...at all. I could probably count the phrases I understand on my fingers...], I generally don't try to pick up on which specific words/syllables are being said so much as I'm just focusing on the character's tone of voice, especially if there are subtitles, so I'll probably almost always miss things like that OTL

There’s a scene going at the in front of a junk store at one of the many junkstores scattered about the surface level of Fibonacci Ward. An adult has caught a child that seems to have stolen something from store and now is being pestered to give it back - a natural position to take perhaps but the adult in question has the child grabbed by arm, fingers wrapped around tight enough to hurt. The child has tears in his eyes, as the adult keeps shaking the poor thing.

Eiden is angry. He’d tried to discreetly have the child return it but it turns out the owner, if only in monetary sense, had been visiting the place from an upper level and heard the exchange. 

That’s how they arrived to this. 

“ That’s enough! “ 

“ Let the kid go!! “

He can’t bear to watch anymore, no item of any value would be worth of this behaviour. To part the kid and the owner he charged ahead. 

Next thing he knows is a kick on his stomach. It blows out the air from him, making him gasp as he tries to get back up.

I may or may not have completely forgotten about this vlog. Anyways, what are the shops in monster town?

oh, you know, just your regular stores. Muffet's Café and Bakery. Grillby's Bar and Grill. Junkstore (a convenience store run by Owen and Otto). a pair of bunny sisters run a bed and breakfast (with a small gift shop). there's also NTT resort Hotel, and they have a restaurant and a small nicecream shop, i think they're opening a theme park soon, or somethin. Gerson runs an antique store sometimes when he's not teaching history.

My mind has been blown!  A huge Sunday comics section...ON A SATURDAY!

Scans from a junkstore find:  The comics section from the Chicago Herald American, February 12, 1949.  Hard to believe a time when comics were thriving like this (12 pages worth!).  Also: every artist is in command of his craft.  No naive artistry by guys just interested in writing funny.  I’m thinking about post-modern comics like “Drabble” & “Rhymes With Orange” plus too many to name. Above comics were done by pros to a much higher standard.
