what kind of girlfriend would yang jungwon have?
the answer seems obvious enough.
someone as kind and pure as jungwon deserved someone just as sweet. someone who smiled as brightly as he did, whose eyes sparkled like his did–someone that radiated the same loveable energy that attracts everyone to him.
but, in reality? you, as jungwon’s current (and first) girlfriend, were sort of a far cry from jungwon.
you weren’t cruel by any means, but you were blunt. you hated sugarcoating words and definitely didn’t go out of your way to make people feel comfortable. if people asked for your input, they should be expecting your straightforward, honest answers—not your fault if they didn’t like it.
if people compared jungwon to ragdoll cat—likeable, friendly, and cute—they’d probably say you’re like the black cat that’s historically considered unlucky and an omen. but, somehow, you two worked.
of course, people were always questioning your relationship.
when you two worked at the same cafe during your college years, there was a clear difference in how you treated customers. you weren’t particularly rude, just not cheerful like jungwon.
“i have two iced lattes for kiki!” jungwon happily shouted, pushing the two drinks out. the girl who picked up her shyly smiled at jungwon, only wavering when she noticed your dead stare at her. after that, she hurriedly away to her friend. you watched as they both giggled and glanced at jungwon wiping down the espresso machines.
“you’re too friendly,” you sipped your drink, glaring at the bashful girls.
jungwon smiled and turned to you with a teasing look. “it’s why i make more tips than you.”
you rolled your eyes, leaning back on the counter. jungwon placed himself next to you after throwing the rag in the bucket.
“you seem grumpier than usual,” jungwon poked at your side. “anything i can do to make it better?”
“be less cute,” you muttered, words slightly disappearing in your drink.
jungwon laughed before peaking his head into your view. you immediately softened at his pretty face.
“if i were any less cute, you wouldn’t put up with me.”
you snorted as you chucked your empty cup into the bin. you busied yourself, organizing the misplaced powders and syrup bottles. jungwon followed a step behind you, weaving from either side of you to get your attention. when he stuck his face too close to yours, you pushed him away before glancing around you.
“we’re at work,” you whispered.
jungwon shrugged. “it’s not like the boss doesn’t know. i told him that i applied because of you.”
before you could reply, the same girl—kiki—came up to the counter. you stepped forward.
“what’s up?”
she frowned ever so slightly before clearing her throat. “do you think i could talk to the other barista?”
you raised your eyebrow. “i could help you just as much as he can.”
her lips formed a straight line before jungwon cut in. “how can i help you?”
you resisted letting your eyes roll for the nth time, returning to organizing the counter.
“i was wondering if you were free after your shift?”
you barely managed to disguise your laugh as a cough. jungwon pouted at you before looking back at her. “i’m actually getting lunch with my girlfriend! she’s been wanting to try this new brunch place and i promised to take her.”
the girl blinked, disappoint clear on her face. “oh. i hope you enjoy your lunch then.”
before you could move further away, jungwon pulled you into his side with a bright smile. “we will!”
disappoint made way for shock, her eyebrows raised. she didn’t say anything more, returning to her friend who excitedly awaited for news. you could see them exchange words before glancing back at you and jungwon, who was still holding onto you. you pushed yourself free and flicked his forehead.
jungwon winced at the twinge of pain and rubbed the spot. “hey! you’d think you’d be proud of me for mentioning you within 10 seconds of the conversation.”
“i told you we’re at work,” you lightly scolded. “do you want to get us fired?”
“the boss would never fire me,” jungwon cheekily said.
you knew it was true, so you just declined to respond. you made your way around the counter, choosing to clear dirty dishes and wipe down tables. jungwon shook his head smiling and finished up the work you left behind.
“that’s his girlfriend? no way. she’s like– a bitch.”
your ears twitched. you’re used to this unfortunately. from strangers to friends to family, everyone couldn’t believe that someone as sweet as jungwon would be with someone like you—someone a little mean (though, you resent that because you’d like to think you’re nice to people… you like).
“right? i don’t get it. she looked like she was ready to rip my head off for just ordering. like—sorry for making you do your job.”
“he deserves so much better.”
you agreed. not that you’d ever voice that to jungwon again. you say again because, in the early stages of your relationship, jungwon made it very clear that it doesn’t matter what anyone else thought—you were the better everyone wanted for him. you didn’t really see it but, after seeing how upset he’d get during those conversations, you stopped bringing it up.
you clenched your jaw, fingers gripping the dirty dishes, as you walked to the back. when you returned to the front, jungwon stopped you with a small smile and covered your ears. you frowned in confusion.
“don’t listen to them,” jungwon murmured, removing his hands for your ears to tuck the stray hairs behind your ear. “you’re exactly who i want to be with for the rest of my life.”
a blush burned your cheeks. maybe, just this once, you will ignore what others are saying.
it didn’t stop there though. those types of comments followed you into your adult life.
you made quite the reputation for yourself in your office. you were ambitious from the start and managed to make your way into a team leader position pretty early on in your career. but, it didn’t come without some office rumors about your character.
y/n’s harsh. she’s so cruel. i heard she blackmailed the manager for her position. y/n will rip you apart for any minor mistakes. interns, beware. the list goes on. you felt like they were unwarranted. what else did they expect in a high-profile company? your clients expected quality work that was free of mistakes. of course you were going to point out flaws. again, was your delivery cushy and sweet? no. but, they shouldn’t expect criticisms wrapped in pretty words.
their… opinions weren’t limited to work though. when jungwon stopped by your office to pick you up for lunch, they had plenty to say.
“hey,” he greeted cheerfully, stepping into the room with that effortless charm that drew everyone’s attention. your coworkers peered from their desks curiously, wondering how you interact with this stranger.
you glanced up from your desk, surprised to see him. “what are you doing here?”
“i finished all my errands early and thought i’d take you out to lunch,” he said, tilting his head cutely. “i can wait for you to finish up!”
you nodded, glancing at the papers on your desk. “give me 15 minutes.”
he gave you a thumbs up before softly whistling, looking around the office. jungwon walked over to the wall of excellent employees and grinned at your pictures hanging. he glanced at your coworkers, some having returned to their work. curious, he peaked over one of their shoulders. they jumped a little after noticing his presence.
he smiled sheepishly. “sorry.”
within minutes, he has the whole office laughing with him. when you finished reviewing the last proposition, you were met with the sight. you smiled softly. jungwon never failed to impress you with his ability to charm people.
you got up from your desk and walked over. “hey, i’m ready if you are.”
your coworkers’ laughs died down at your presence, a couple creeping back to their desks.
“i was just telling them about the first time we met!” jungwon laughed.
your eyebrow quirked. “when you fell into the fountain?”
he nodded as he reached to carry your bag. “still hard to believe you agreed to go on a date with me after that.”
you could practically hear the gears turning in your coworkers’ heads as they processed his words.
“you’re her boyfriend?” one asked.
jungwon grinned, clutching the straps of your bag. “yup! i’m a lucky man.”
“i think she’s the lucky one,” someone muttered under their breath.
you sighed and pulled jungwon towards the elevator, choosing to ignore their comment to go get lunch faster. jungwon waved goodbye as you entered the elevator.
before the elevators fully closed, you could make out someone saying, “someone as terrible as her with someone as kind as hi–”
you shut your eyes, performing breathing exercises you learned at the company’s mental health seminar. you could feel jungwon pull you into his arms before he peppered kisses all over your face. his attacks didn’t stop until you were giggling from how his kisses tickled.
“they don’t know anything,” he said, planting a final kiss on your lips. “they don’t know about how my girlfriend is the kindest person al–”
you covered his mouth before you exited the elevator. “not so loud. can’t have people knowing i’m a softie.”
jungwon kissed the palm of your hand, clasping it with his own as you walked out of the building. after years of being with jungwon, his pro-y/n propaganda got through to you, much to his delight.
but, even after all those years, jungwon’s friends still didn’t understand your dynamic.
“okay, real talk,” jake said during a game night at your apartment, gesturing between the two of you. “how do you two even work?”
“what do you mean?” jungwon asked, tilting his head like a confused puppy.
“dude, you’re like the nicest guy i know—i’m talking nicer than the grandmas that feed pigeons—and y/n is…” jake trailed off, glancing at you nervously.
“go on. say it,” you droned with no real heat, crossing your arms.
“intimidating? but, you know, in a cool, really chic way,” jake said quickly.
jungwon laughed and wrapped his arms around you. “it works because she likes me just the way i am. a nice loser that is way too nice sometimes.”
sunghoon’s eyebrows furrowed. “blink three times if you’re scared.”
jungwon puffed his cheeks in annoyance. “she’s not scary, man. she’s the sweetest, shyest, prettiest, most lovable–”
you covered his mouth, your face burning in embarrassment. “that’s enough.”
jungwon pulled away from your hand with the biggest grin. “see?”
jake snorted and nudged sunghoon. “maybe jungwon’s the one scaring her.”
you all laughed and, tactfully, they never questioned you guys again.
sometimes, though, it still bothered you. why was jungwon—someone who was sunshine-incarnate—with you–grumpy in female form?
one night, as the two of you cleaned up after a dinner party, you asked him directly.
“why do you put up with it?” you asked, your voice quieter than usual.
jungwon looked up the dishes, bubbles somehow making their way onto his hair. “put up with what?”
“all the comments,” you said, rearranging the centerpiece. “the questions. people saying you could do better…”
he frowned and shut off the water, shaking off the gloves. “do you still think there’s better than you?”
you hesitated, caught off guard by his sincere stare. “it crosses my mind from time to time?”
jungwon shook his head, stepping towards you and pulling your hands into his. “there isn’t,” he said firmly. “there’s no one in this world better for me than you.”
you tried to pull away, feeling ashamed for feeling this way after all these years, but he held on.
“i like that you don’t pretend to be someone you’re not,” he continued. “i like that you’re honest, even when the truth is hard to hear. and i like that you don’t care about flattering others, because it means even more when you do compliment people.”
your chest tightened, his words sinking into the cracks you tried so hard to hide.
“i also like that you don’t care if people know how truly kind you are, because i know. i see it every day. i see it in the way you prepare my morning coffee, even though you’re the one that has to go to work. i see it in the way you put yourself in between the street and grandmas, in case something happens. i see it in the way you keep working after everyone’s clocked out to make sure your proposition doesn’t get rejected. i see it. i see you.”
at this point, tears blurred your vision. “but, you can do so much better,” you muttered, blinking the tears away.
“you are that better. you make me wanna be better,” he said with a grin, pulling you into a hug. “it’s okay if the world keeps talking. it gives me an excuse to fire back and talk about my super cool girlfriend.”
a laugh escaped you as you rubbed your face into his chest, a smile creeping onto your face. “you’re ridiculous.”
“and you love me for it.”
you really did. you loved him so much. but, according to jungwon, probably not as much as he loved you.
so, what kind of girlfriend would yang jungwon have?
someone who challenged him to be better. someone who didn’t sugarcoat things, who kept him grounded. someone who loved him so fiercely, even if they didn’t think they should be the one receiving his love. where others saw questions, he saw answers. you were it for him. and, hopefully, the ring sitting in his desk drawer was enough to prove it to you.

heeseung walked in late again. ever since he picked up a new position at his office, he’s been coming home late nonstop. you knew he’d be more busy, but coming home at midnight for weeks straight, you grew a little fed up. tonight, you couldn’t hold back your frustration.
“you’re late again..” you said, your arms crossed along your chest. “how many times is this going to keep happening?”
“i’m trying alright? it’s just really busy.” heeseung sighed, rubbing his temples gently.
“but i’m here waiting for you! every night. i stay up extra late to spend time with you, but i cant, because you’re tired and you want to sleep.” you shot back, your hands trembling.
“i didn’t mean for it to be like this..” heeseung said quietly, stepping closer to wrap his arms around you. “im sorry princess, ill try to come home early so we can be together.”
you look up at him, frustration and sadness still lingering. “i just need you to be here..”
“and i will be.. okay?” heeseung kisses your forehead, his arms never latched off you. ( 𝖱𝖤𝖠𝖣 𝖬𝖮𝖱𝖤 𝖴𝖭𝖣𝖤𝖱 𝖳𝖧𝖤 𝖢𝖴𝖳 )

you and jay were enjoying a quiet evening at home, you sat on his lap as the two of you got caught up in eachother’s affection. what originally was a night of laughter and affection quickly disappeared when jay would constantly check his phone.
“jay?” you asked politely, frustration lingering on your voice. “can you put your phone down for a second? we’re supposed to be spending time together.”
jay looks up at you, his brows furrowed. “im just checking something real quick. why are you making a big deal out of it?” his tone came out rather harsh than expected.
“im not making a big deal, i just want your attention for five minutes!” you snapped. “you’ve been looking at your phone from time to time all night.”
“im not ignoring you, honey.” jay watched as you got off his lap, sitting a little farther away now to collect yourself. “well it feels like it.” you muttered to yourself, unaware that jay heard.
jay pulls you back on his lap, holding your chin so your gaze is on him. “i didn’t know you were feeling that way. i’m sorry honey, i’ll put it down.”

jake had been playing video games all day with heeseung and jungwon. you didn’t mind, considering he worked hard all week and barely got some time for his favorite things. it was one thing for him to barely speak to you throughout the day, but it was another when you felt like he was ignoring your presence.
“jake..” you called out from the doorway, coming to sit on the shared bed. “can you stop playing for a five minutes and talk to me.”
jake glanced over, however his attention quickly went back to the screen. “just one more round okay mamas?”
“seriously?” you couldnt hide your emotions, especially your frustration. “you’ve been playing for hours, you act like i don’t exist.”
jake paused his game, his attention quickly went to you. “im sorry okay? i just wanted a few hours on the game. i didn’t mean to ignore your presence.”
jake got up from his gaming chair and climbed onto the bed. he pulled you close to him, snuggling you tightly. “im sorry mamas.. do you forgive me? if not, i’ll make it better.”

recently, you felt as if your relationship with sunghoon was failing. some nights, you barely slept in the same bed. other times, you’d only have one worded answers to each other’s questions. sometimes when this happens, it causes you to barely eat. sunghoon silently picked up on it, he started to see how this was affecting you.
“you’re barely eating..” sunghoon speaks softly, his eyes soft but serious.
you avoid his gaze, silently surpised he picked up on your behavior. “im fine.”
“no you’re not.” sunghoon looked closer at you, his voice laced with concern. “we haven’t been doing well recently and now you’re not even taking care of yourself.”
you sighed, frustrated. “i cant eat when i’m upset, you know that..” you held your head, rushes of emotions hitting you at once. sunghoon could tell you’ve officially reached your breaking point.
sunghoon moved closer to you, his tone gentle. “i hate seeing you like this. we’ll fix things, but first you need to eat. you need to take care of yourself, and i’ll be here to help you,” sunghoon wrapped his arms around you tightly, as if he was afraid to loose you again.

jungwon has been going through a lot lately. either something hapoened with some friends, or his family, you couldnt point your finger on it. all you knew was your relationship was slowly declining because of it. jungwon felt more closed off, he wasn’t talking to you like he normally would.
“why are you so closed off?” you asked, your voice shaking. “you used to talk to me about everything.”
jungwon sighed, looking at you. “it’s not that i don’t want to talk .. i just don’t want to drag you into my problems.”
“well i’m here for you!” you snapped, your frustration boiling over. “you can’t just shut me out when you’re going through something.
“i don’t wanna burden you.” jungwon ran a hand through his hair, trying to process his thoughts.
“you’re not burdening me, jungwon. i want to be there for you.” you quickly responded, pulling him into your arms as you saw tears falling from his glass eyes. “im sorry.. for pushing you away. i really need you.” you heard his sobs, you tried to comfort him by rubbing his back.

sunoo wasn’t one to cancel plans with you, infact he always looked forward to the days he’d be able to see you. ever since you and sunoo began getting more busy at work as the days went out, it became difficult to see each other. even on days you both were exhausted, you didn’t want to cancel.
“you’ve been cancelling plans alot recently..” you sighed with frustration. “i feel i’m the last thing on your mind these days.”
sunoo looks at you, guiltier than ever. “i didn’t mean to make you feel like that.. work has just been draining me.”
“that’s all you’ll ever say.” you replied, your voice tightening. “i get that, but it’s not an excuse as to how you’ve been treating me lately.”
he sighs. “you’re right.. i’ve been distracted and im sorry.” sunoo runs his hands through his hair in frustration, yet understanding where you’re coming from.
sunoo pulls you into his arms, his tight embrace made you feel better. “i promise to treat you better, even when exhaustion creeps up on me.” you pull him flush closer to you, feeling bad you let your emotions out on him.

you didn’t know riki would have his friends over at his house today. you sat closely to riki, but no matter how close you say, he continued to ignore you. riki was too caught up in playing games with his friends, he forgot his own girlfriend was right beside him. you felt ignored, and most importantly you felt forgotten about. his friends left, which left you with some alone time.
“why did you do that?” you asked, standing up as if you’re ready to leave. “ignore me when your friends are here?”
“what do you talking about?” riki asks, putting the extra controllers away in a drawer.
“when you’re with them, you pretend im invisible” your eyes grew teary, you tried to look away to fix yourself before he saw you like this.
“oh baby.. i never meant to make you feel like that.” riki pulled you into his arms, you tried to push away wanting some space to yourself.
however, riki wasn’t taking that for an answer. he didn’t like seeing you push away when you’re upset, especially at him. “no baby.. no pushing away. i’m sorry for tonight and i’ll make it up to you.” riki kisses your lips gently, his thumb soothed your cheek.

꩜ .ᐟ LITTLE THINGS 이희승
— ✮⋆˙ heeseung x reader ✮⋆˙ fluff, established relationship, non-idol au ✮⋆˙ 0.7k wc ✮⋆˙ grammar errors
WHEREIN heeseung finds himself falling more in love with you every time you do the smallest things.
every little thing you did made heeseung’s heart race in ways he never thought possible. he always told himself he wasn’t the type to get caught up in the small details—but then you came along
it was the way you’d smile at him, that quiet kind of smile, like you knew all his secrets and still loved him anyway. the way your eyes crinkled at the corners when you laughed, the way they softened when you looked at him.
heeseung could get lost in your eyes—he had, so many times.
heeseung was on his way home after you’d sent him out to buy a few things. as he walked past a small flower shop, the colorful display caught his eye. it instantly reminded him of you and the way you always lit up whenever you two visited one.
“did you know daisies symbolize purity and innocence?” you’d say, rambling random flower facts while pointing to your favorites.
he smiled to himself. it was one of the many reasons he fell for you—your curious mind and the way you turned even the simplest outings into something memorable.
on the bus ride home, he overheard a group of friends saying their goodbyes. it reminded him of how you always waved at your friends with the sweetest smile before rushing over to him.
heeseung couldn’t help but chuckle softly, looking down at his phone. your messages popped up on the screen.
lovelove ❤️
food’s almost cold!
stay safe, i love you!
oh yeah, i think i miss you already:(
he laughed at the cute sticker you’d sent along with it. snapping a quick picture of himself on the bus, he texted back:
my fav person ! 💞
on my way. don’t eat without me! :)
when heeseung finally arrived home, you greeted him at the door, practically throwing your arms around him. “woah, easy there,” he chuckled, wrapping an arm around your waist.
your face was glowing, your eyes sparkling with sincerity, warmth, and love—the kind of look that made him fall in love with you all over again.
“welcome home! oh, let me get these—thank you for buying them,” you said, pulling away to grab the bags from his hands. he watched you with a fond smile as you disappeared into the kitchen.
“oh, and dinner’s ready!” you called out. “i also bought your favorite drink yesterday.”
heeseung sat down at the dining table, resting his chin on his hand as he watched you move around the kitchen, chattering about your day. you pulled his drink from the fridge, placing it on the table with a proud smile.
“oh, and yeah—” you paused when you noticed his silence. “everything okay?”
heeseung blinked, his thoughts catching up. “yeah,” he said, smiling softly.
you squinted at him as you sat down across from him, serving portions of food onto both plates. “you’re giving me that look again, hee.”
“what look?”
“like you’re trying to manipulate me or something,” you joked, though your cheeks warmed under his gaze.
he laughed at your playful tone, leaning forward to brush a strand of hair away from your face. “you’re funny. but you know what? you do the same thing to me all the time. your eyes, your smile… even the little things about you make me forget everything else.”
your heart raced at his words, your cheeks now burning. “you’re being so dramatic,” you mumbled, suddenly shy.
“i’m not,” he said, his voice soft but firm. “everything i said is true.”
heeseung picked up his chopsticks and started eating like he hadn’t just turned your heart racing so fast it felt like it might burst.
as the night deepened, the two of you stayed like that—sharing food, laughter, and quiet moments where words weren’t necessary.
later, you both found yourselves curled up on the couch, a soft blanket draped over you as you rested your head on his chest. the sound of his heartbeat matched the rhythm of your own, steady and comforting.
later, as you lay curled up on the couch together, heeseung rested his chin on top of your head. “you know,” he murmured, “you’re everything i never knew i needed.”
you tilted your head to meet his gaze, his eyes full of love that left you breathless. “and you,” you whispered back, “are the best thing that’s ever happened to me.”
heeseung smiled, pressing a kiss to your forehead.
and as you closed your eyes, you thought of the way he looked at you—like you were the only person in the world.

picture perfect - lhs
pairing: ex!heeseung x midnight rain!reader genre: angst, exes meeting again in a different circumstance, heeseung is getting married, the one that got away word count: 2.5k summary: what's worse than interviewing your ex-fiancé for his wedding while tormented by the life you could have had? especially when you couldn't stop glancing on the ring on his finger.
My boy was a montage A slow-motion, love potion Jumping off things in the ocean I broke his heart 'cause he was nice
“When did you realize that she was the one? That it was love?”
The room was colder than you expected, or maybe it was the weight of the moment that made you shiver. Five years had passed since you left Heeseung behind, but here you were, standing across from him again. He stood in a pristine tuxedo, tailored to perfection, like the life he now led—polished, flawless, but distant. Heeseung, heir to a powerful conglomerate, and you, the broadcast journalist in a media uniform tasked with interviewing him for what was being called the "wedding of the century."
It had been an impossible love, one you knew couldn’t last. But that didn’t stop you from falling hard for him.
Back in college, it felt like the stars had aligned just for you two. You met by chance in a quiet library, studying late at night. You were flipping through notes, while he sat across from you, struggling to stay awake after hours of classes and business meetings for his family’s company. He caught your eye when he nearly fell asleep, knocking a stack of books to the floor.
“You alright there?” you had teased, a soft smile playing on your lips.
Heeseung rubbed his eyes and chuckled. “Yeah, just tired. Guess business majors don’t get to sleep, huh?”
That small interaction turned into late-night study sessions and shared meals at the local café, hiding from the world that seemed to have already decided your places. The more you learned about him, the more the quiet, gentle side of him drew you in—the side that wasn’t always front and center in the media’s image of him.
“Let’s keep this just between us,” Heeseung had said once, eyes soft as the two of you sat together in a dimly lit restaurant far off campus, tucked into a corner where no one would recognize him. “The world outside… it’s too complicated.”
You agreed, understanding the stakes. His family had expectations, and you were just an ordinary student. Yet, it didn’t stop the stolen glances in class or the secret hand-holding when no one was watching.
Those were some of the happiest moments of your life. No matter how fleeting, they felt like something real, something lasting.
And then there was that night—your last trip together before everything changed. The two of you had gone to a secluded beach, the sound of waves crashing against the shore the only witness to your love. Underneath a sky full of stars, Heeseung pulled out a ring, his hands trembling slightly as he looked at you, eyes wide with hope.
“I know it’s crazy… but marry me,” he whispered, his voice full of emotion. “I want you to be the person I come home to. The one who knows me when the rest of the world only sees… him.”
You had said yes without hesitation. How could you not? In that moment, it felt like everything was falling into place. You had both once pictured yourselves at opposite ends of the aisle—him in a crisp, white tuxedo, and you in the wedding dress of your dreams. It was this memory of him that still kept you awake at night.
But reality didn’t wait long to rear its ugly head. Graduation came, and with it, responsibilities neither of you could ignore. You got your dream job as a news presenter, but it meant constant travel. Heeseung, meanwhile, was tied to his family’s legacy, the weight of it pressing down on him, anchoring him to a life you couldn’t share.
"I can’t leave everything behind," he had told you one night, frustration evident in his voice. "This is who I am."
"I know," you replied quietly, staring down at the engagement ring on your finger, feeling its weight more than ever. "And I’m not asking you to. But I… I need to be someone too. I can’t just be… your shadow."
Heeseung had pleaded with you to stay, to make it work somehow, but deep down, you both knew it wasn’t possible. The worlds you came from were too far apart, the demands on you both too great.
When you took off the ring that night in his car, your hands trembling, the look in his eyes broke you. Heeseung had always been composed, even under pressure, but that night, he cried. You watched as his tears fell, and the ache in your chest felt unbearable.
"I’m sorry," you whispered, voice barely holding steady as you placed the ring in his palm. "I love you, but I can’t… I can’t do this."
Heeseung had tried to speak, but the words caught in his throat. All he could do was watch as you opened the car door and walked away.
Now, five years later, that past stood between you like an invisible wall.
The soft murmur of crew members adjusting lights and setting up cameras filled the studio, but all you could hear was the steady, rhythmic pounding of your heart. Heeseung sat in front of you, the gleam of his dark wedding tuxedo catching the artificial light. His hand rested on his knee, the gold band on his ring finger gleaming—a silent reminder of everything that had changed.
You cleared your throat, shuffling your notes, attempting to shake off the unease settling over you. This was supposed to be just another interview—routine, professional. But the tension in the air was palpable, an invisible thread tugging at memories you thought you’d buried.
"Mr. Lee?," you asked again, your voice steady, eyes fixed on the paper in front of you to avoid the intensity of his gaze. "A lot of people are curious about your relationship with Ms. Choi. When did you realize that she was the one? That it was love?"
Heeseung shifted slightly in his seat, his eyes flickering to yours before looking down at his hands. For a moment, he hesitated, and you found yourself unconsciously glancing at his left hand again—the wedding band glinting under the lights. The sight of it made your stomach twist.
"When did I know…" Heeseung trailed off, his voice quiet, reflective. He took a deep breath before answering, his eyes still focused on his hand. "I think love can be complicated. Sometimes, it’s not about a single moment, but a series of small ones. You come to realize what's expected of you, and you grow into it, bit by bit."
It was a carefully worded response—safe, diplomatic. He wasn’t answering the question. Not really. And that tugged at something deep inside you, pulling at threads you didn’t want to unravel.
You nodded, trying to move forward, but your thoughts were slipping. "But… when did it feel like more than just expectation? When did it feel like love?"
The words fell from your lips before you could stop them. Too personal. Too revealing. Heeseung’s eyes snapped to yours, surprised at the sudden shift, the edge in your voice. For a second, the air between you thickened, the unspoken past rising to the surface.
"When did it feel like love?" Heeseung repeated slowly, his eyes lingering on your face, as if searching for something. His voice softened. "There was a time I thought I knew… what love felt like."
You blinked, the space between his words loaded with meaning. There was an implicit sadness in the way he spoke, a crack in the façade he’d been holding up for so long.
You felt yourself sinking deeper into the moment, losing grip on the professional veneer you had worked so hard to maintain. Your gaze dropped to his left hand again, to the gold ring encircling his finger. It felt suffocating, knowing it symbolized a future you once imagined would be yours.
Your own fingers absentmindedly brushed against your ring finger, where once a promise had been worn but was now bare. Heeseung’s eyes followed the movement, his gaze lingering there for a moment longer than necessary. His lips parted, as if he wanted to say something, but he closed them again.
The camera’s blinking red light reminded you where you were. You cleared your throat, refocusing on the script, but your mind was still spiraling.
You hesitated before asking the next question, feeling the weight of it before the words even left your mouth. It wasn’t on the script—it wasn’t the kind of thing you were supposed to ask in an interview like this. But it was the question you had to ask, the one lingering at the back of your mind since you stepped into the room.
You swallowed, feeling your pulse in your throat. "Are you happy?"
The silence that followed was suffocating. Heeseung’s gaze lingered on you, and for the briefest moment, his polished composure cracked. His eyes softened, as if searching for something in yours.
He hesitated, his gaze dropping briefly to the ring on his finger again—gleaming and perfect, a stark contrast to your own bare hand. The ring you had taken off five years ago.
"I... I have everything I’m supposed to want," he began, voice quiet, almost too quiet for the room. His answer was measured, careful, like he was trying to convince himself as much as he was you. "I’ve built a life, a career... I’m where I’m supposed to be."
But then his eyes met yours again, and for a heartbeat, something vulnerable passed between you. "But happiness?" He let the question hang in the air, not answering it fully, but leaving the meaning clear. His gaze lingered a second longer, unspoken words filling the silence.
You bit your lip, trying to keep your emotions in check as the weight of what wasn’t said between you pressed down. His answer, or lack of one, told you everything.
You glanced down at your next question, but your voice betrayed you, trailing off as you asked, "Do you… ever think about the life you could have had? If things had been different?"
Heeseung’s gaze locked onto yours, his expression unreadable. The question hadn’t been on the script. You hadn’t even realized you’d said it until it was too late. A deafening silence filled the room, every crew member, every camera operator feeling the tension brewing between you both.
His jaw clenched slightly, and for a moment, it looked like he wasn’t going to answer. But then, his voice came, soft, barely above a whisper, yet laced with emotion. "Sometimes… I think about the life I could have had. The life I almost had."
The way he said it made your breath hitch. You weren’t sure if anyone else in the room could hear it, but to you, it felt like the only thing that mattered. His words hung in the air, filling the space between you with a weight too heavy to ignore.
You tried to regain control, but you were slipping further, your thoughts clouded by the memories you had worked so hard to forget. "Do you have any regrets about the past?” you asked, the question intended more for your own sake than for the magazine.
Heeseung's expression softened, and for the first time throughout the interview, his voice wavered. ‘Regret... it's complicated. There are times when you make choices because you believe they’re what’s best for everyone. Yet there are nights when you can’t help but think… what if?’"
His words hit you like a wave, washing over you with the force of all the unspoken feelings between you. What if. Two simple words, yet they carried the weight of everything you had left behind.
Your breath hitched, and you glanced down at your notes, trying to steer the interview back to safer ground. But the damage was done. You couldn’t hide from the truth anymore.
You felt your eyes well up, memories flooding back of the days when Heeseung had been your world. The secret rendezvous, the promises whispered under moonlit skies, the proposal on the beach—the life you almost had. You swallowed hard, pushing the memories down.
"Two weeks until the wedding," you said, your voice hollow, desperate to pull the conversation back to the present. "Are you… ready?"
Heeseung didn’t answer right away. Instead, he looked at you, really looked at you, as if seeing past the years, past the distance, and straight into the heart of the girl he had once loved. His lips parted, but the answer you expected didn’t come.
"Are you?" he asked quietly, the question hanging in the air like a lifeline.
Your breath caught in your throat. The room felt too small, the walls too close. You blinked, shaking your head slightly as if that could shake off the weight of the moment.
The tension between you was unbearable now. You could feel every unsaid word, every lingering regret, every what-if stretching between you, filling the space with a heaviness you could no longer ignore.
"Thank you for your time, Mr. Lee," you said, your voice tight, trying to wrap up the interview before you completely unraveled.
But as you stood to leave, Heeseung’s voice stopped you.
"Y/N…"
He adjusted his cufflinks, and the air between you grew heavier. Finally, he spoke, his voice low. “Do you ever think about… that time?”
You looked at him, surprised he had asked. The cameras aren’t rolling anymore. “All the time,” you admitted, the truth slipping out before you could stop it.
Heeseung nodded, his gaze dropping to the floor. “Yeah… me too.”
You paused, not daring to turn around, your heart in your throat.
"If I had another chance…" His voice was barely a whisper now, but it sliced through the room like a knife. "I would risk everything."
Your hand hovered on the door handle, but you couldn’t move. His words clung to you, wrapping themselves around your heart like a vice. You swallowed hard, blinking back the tears that threatened to fall.
But you didn’t turn back. You couldn’t.
Instead, you stepped out of the studio, the weight of everything unsaid pressing down on you, knowing that you’d leave this room just as you had left him five years ago—heartbroken and haunted by what could have been.
About an hour after the interview, you found yourself standing at the back of the studio, watching as Heeseung and his fiancée posed for their couple shots. He looked effortlessly handsome in his pristine black tuxedo, while she glimmered in a flowing gown, radiant and picture-perfect.
“Smile a little wider, Heeseung!” the photographer urged, and your heart ached as you watched him comply, his smile lighting up the scene in a way that had once been reserved for you.
You swallowed hard, the memories flooding back—late-night laughter, whispered secrets, and the way he’d promised you the world. A crew member nudged you, breaking your reverie. “They really are the perfect couple,” he said.
“Yeah,” you replied, your voice thick with unshed tears.
As you turned away, the sight of them—the life you had once envisioned—felt like a dagger to your heart. It was time to leave, to step back into your own reality, but a lingering question haunted you: What if things had been different?

the good in the bad - yjw

“this way! come on!” jeno yelled as he darted around the corner. you were right on his tail, making sure you don't stray behind.
the building's alarm blared into the calm, quiet night along with the loud footsteps of your pursuers. let’s just say that some people aren’t necessarily happy with what you have stolen.
you had pulled off countless jobs: successfully breaking into buildings, swiftly looting them, and disappearing into the night. you were pretty much considered a pro at committing crimes. but something about tonight was different. the shadowstone - supposedly a very rare stone, one that can "change lives" once you lay hands on it. selling this would earn you millions. you needed this.jeno as he darted around . were right on his tail, making sure you don't stray behind.the building's alarm blared into the calm, quiet night along with the loud footsteps of your pursuers.

what you didn’t expect was the large swarm of people chasing you right after you’d stolen it. normally, the ear piercing alarm would go off, signaling that it was your time to disappear off into the night, but tonight felt oddly controlled, almost as if they were waiting for you to steal the stone. almost like it was all planned out…
but that didn’t concern you. the only thing on your mind right now was to escape with your new shiny prize.
“heeseung, what’s the reason for this? what am i looking at?” jungwon asked with a puzzled look on his face. heeseung had called for him to his headquarters - something that wasn’t so common as jungwon usually handles his missions on his own. heeseung only asks for him when it comes to serious matters. this must be one of those cases.
“y/n l/n, she also goes by the name of ‘echo’,” heeseung explained, walking towards jungwon, “she is known to be one of the deadliest - not to mention, skilled villains as of right now. she’s made quite the name for herself.”
jungwon’s brow furrowed, “what does she have anything to do with my mission?”
“i need you to locate and bring her to me immediately. she has something i want,” heeseung commands, his gaze intense.
jungwon pondered for a moment. how is he supposed to find you? you’re in a very large city, you can be anywhere. and more importantly, why, out of all heroes, does he have to find you?
“jungwon,” heeseung said sternly, bringing him back to reality, “don’t let me down.”
“yes, sir.” he replied. with a wave, heeseung dismissed him.
now to hunt you, echo, down.
present…
after what felt like an eternity of running, you and jeno finally reach a quiet, secluded alleyway. you no longer heard the yells and footsteps of your pursuers so you assume you’re finally alone. kneeling over, you try to catch your breath. jeno doing the same. once your eyes met his, the two of you laugh and celebrate another successful run. he made his way over to you with his hand up, waiting for a high five.
“another point for us,” he said excitedly. “i can already smell how rich we’re going to be.”
you laughed, breathless, “right? jeno, this is huge. this is going to change our lives, maybe we can finally settle down after this.”
you noticed how his eyes lit up, “you really think so?”
“i do. the shadowstone is worth millions, i’m sure it’ll get us the money for the house we wanted,” grinning at him, you put your hand on his shoulder, “imagine months from now, we’re living in our dream house, we’ve retired from this job of ours and we’re finally living in peace… we can finally live the life we deserve, jeno.”
he smiles at you, putting his hand on top of yours, “i would do anything to live that life,” he glanced down at the satchel that rested at your hip and nudges his head towards it, “let’s see that stone of ours?”
“let’s do it.”
as you started to reach in your bag to grab the stone, jeno says, “stay here, i’m going to go check if the coast is clear.”
you nodded as you began to rummage through the bag. your hands finally make contact with the stone. you sighed in content, pulling it out. as you observed the sharp, black stone that sat in your hands, your smile began to fade. the stone wasn’t glimmering, translucent gem you were expecting. instead, it was dull, solid - fake. “fake…” you muttered, heart dropping.
just as you were about to warn jeno, you heard him yell, “echo, run!” but before you could even react, a man appears in front of jeno, attacking him. jeno tried to fight back only for his punches to be blocked, resulting in him being stabbed in the stomach, collapsing to the ground.
hearing his cries of pain, you gasp, tears blurring your vision, “jen-“ you try to run to him but you couldn’t. another man appears behind you and grabs you by the arms. no matter how much you try to kick and break free from his grasp, he’s too strong for you.
“no running now, freak,” he whispers into your ear. “we got her, jakah.”
jakah? you’ve heard that name before somewhere but you can’t seem to recall at the moment. your brain was scattered, nothing made sense. you feel yourself being turned around in the man’s grasp and there you were met with a man that had a tall, lean build. dark brown hair covered his eyes but you still were able to feel his piercing gaze. his energy exuding power and confidence. he was not here to mess around.
you were being pushed closer to him. your eyes meet. those eyes. they were captivating. you almost couldn’t look away from him. you didn’t want to. no. you can’t let yourself surrender to him.
jakah observed you for a moment. his eyes trailed all over your figure - you felt like you could shrink just under his gaze. once he turned his attention back to your face, he tilts his head and clicks his tongue, “you’re not as deadly as he said you’d be… what happened?”
hearing this made anger run through your body. without thinking, you stomped on the foot of the man holding you, causing him to loosen his grip. you took this opportunity to swing around and punch him in the face to create some distance between you. as he’s doubled over in pain, you quickly grabbed your dagger that you had hidden in your leg and swung it at jakah, making contact with his cheek.
his quick reflexes allowed him to grab your wrist to prevent further injury. your eyes widen at how strong he is, he brings his free hand to wipe away the droplets of blood coming from his cheek, his expression a mix of irritation and amusement, “don’t even bother fighting back, echo. you’ll waste your energy.” he smirks, pushing you to the ground.
before you could react, jakah pulled out a gun and aims it at you.
this was it. this was the end for you. as you began to accept the fact that this may be the last few moments being alive, a surge of electricity runs through your body and everything went black.
you slowly began to regain consciousness, groaning as you slowly opened your eyes. you found yourself tied to a chair, the ropes dug into your wrists and ankles. you try to free yourself, but the ropes were too tight. “shit.” you muttered, frustrated.
taking in your surroundings, you realized that you’re being held in someone’s headquarters. in front of you was a man that had his back turned to you. in the dim lights you could make out the red tint in his hair.
“she’s awake, sir.” a voice said from behind you, followed by the sound of approaching footsteps.
“good,” the man in front of you turned around, revealing his face. “it’s about time.” he smirked.
“what did you do to jeno?” was the first thing you said. you didn’t care about your safety, you just wanted to know if jeno was even alive.
“hello to you too,” the man started walking towards you, “do you know who i am or where you are?”
“why would i?” you spat out, struggling against the rope, “does it look like i care about that?”
“there’s no point in struggling. you’re only making it worse,” jakah said, next to you. “you can’t escape anyway.”
you glare at him only to be met with his cold gaze. you realize there’s no point in talking to him. “why am i here?” you turn your focus back to the red haired man who stared at you intently, “if this is me finally being caught for my crimes… it sure isn’t how i envisioned it would be.”
“and how would that have been?” he asked, feigning amusement.
“oh you know, a handsome, charming man sweeping me off my feet and carrying me to my roomy cell,” you turn to jakah and scanned his face, “could’ve been you, you seem to fit the role perfectly. what a shame.” you sighed.
his glare only deepens, “you think you’re so funny-“
“jungwon.” the man in front of you interrupted sternly, “that’s enough.” the supposed jungwon looks down at his feet.
“why am i here?” you repeated, growing impatient, “you never answered my question.”
“you’re here because you’re the key to something i want.” he said, causing you to raise an eyebrow. “find me that amulet.”
the energy in the room shifts as you processed what the man said. it feels like time slowed down. anyone would be able to feel the coldness radiating off of you. jungwon watched your reaction closely, confused.
“…you’re heeseung.” your eyes darkened, “so it is you.”
“it’s nice to see you again, y/n,” he smiled. but behind that smile had so much meaning. jungwon had a feeling there was something he didn’t know. but for his sake, he chose not to interfere. you had gone silent as painful, buried memories began to resurface. you wanted to make them stop.
heeseung continued, “i need you to find the amulet for me.”
“why should i help you?” you snapped, “how do i know you’re not gonna just send me to my death?”
“you know what would happen if that amulet is in the wrong hands. we can’t afford to let chaos ensue once he finds what he’s looking for,” he pressed, “and you won’t be going alone, jungwon will be coming with you.”
“what?” the both of you said simultaneously causing you to glare at each other. “i don’t need a babysitter. it’d be quicker if i went alone.” you argued.
“and have you run off? no, that’s not happening. jungwon is coming with you to make sure you return with the amulet.”
you scoffed, “of course, you don’t trust me.” you can feel both pairs of eyes on you, waiting for you answer. “what’s in it for me?”
“if you come back with the amulet, i will release you and jeno and you will have the chance to throw away this life and start a new one without anyone coming after you, just like you wished.”
jeno’s still alive. you felt a sense of relief wash over your body after hearing those words leave his mouth. but for some reason, you couldn’t help but be skeptical at his proposal. it felt too easy. it could be a trap.
“how do i know you’ll keep your word? how do i know you won’t just send people after us?” you questioned.
“i have no interest in what you do besides this. i only need you for this matter so you will be free to go if you succeed.”
“and if i don’t succeed?”
“you’ll be joining jeno in the cells. and be handed over to the authorities.”
figures. you contemplated for a moment. from what you were understanding, you and jeno’s future relies solely on you finding this amulet - to which you may or may not know where and how to find it. it doesn’t hurt to try though. you and jeno needed this.
“okay,” you sighed, “i’ll help you find the amulet,” this caused heeseung to nod, but you continued, “but i need to see jeno first. i have to make sure he’s okay.”
“that can be done.” heeseung said, nodding to jungwon so that he can untie you. you rubbed your wrists as soon as you were freed. “make it quick though, the sooner you leave the better. jungwon, show her to jeno’s cell.”
“come on,” he gestured for you to follow. you quickly caught up to him, eager to see jeno.
you followed him down the hall revealing numerous cells, however there was no one in them. just jeno. he was sitting on the ground, head buried in his knees. seeing him in such state made your stomach turn. “jeno,” you called out, immediately running over to him. he looks up at the sound of your voice. his face lights up and he scrambled closer to the bars.
“y/n,” he says, relieved, “you’re okay. i thought you were-“
“i’m okay,” you reassured, grabbing his hand, “i’m going to get you out of here, okay? i just need to find that amulet for them then we’ll be okay.”
jeno’s eyes widen and shakes his head, “the amulet? no, you can’t go y/n. that’s not going to end well.”
“i have to, jeno.” you whisper, “for us. heeseung and i made a deal. we’re free once i find it for him.”
“and you trusted him just like that? it sounds weird…”
“what other choice do i have? it was either freedom or being stuck here. i’m willing to take a risk.”
jungwon stood off to the side, waiting for you to finish your conversation with jeno. there was a lot he didn’t know: you and jeno’s relationship, how you knew heeseung, your connection with the amulet. he was completely in the dark. but he knew it wasn’t his place to pry for answers. if anything, he doesn’t want anything to do with you. why would he want to? you’re from very different worlds, that aren’t meant to be combined. he doesn’t trust you. he’s only doing this to prove to heeseung that he trusted the right person. he doesn’t want to let him down. never.
“just… be safe, okay? you need to come back.” jeno pleaded, “i can’t lose you.”
“i promise i’ll be back. don’t worry about me,” you lean in closer to whisper the last part, “besides, i have myself this fine man coming with me.” you joked, making jeno scoff at you.
“of course in a situation like this, you’d find someone to thirst over.”
you had to admit, jungwon was an attractive man. you couldn’t help but be drawn to his captivating feline-like eyes, button nose, and quiet persona. jungwon had a lot of qualities that make you curious about him. he intrigued you. you knew there’s a lot more than what he shows on the outside. a part of you wanted to dig deeper into who he is - jungwon, not jakah.
“it’s time to go,” jungwon says, “let’s get this done as soon as we can.” and with that, he began to walk away, leaving you no choice but to quickly say your goodbyes to jeno and chasing after him - finally setting off onto your journey.
nothing was more awkward than this very moment. ever since you and jungwon began your journey, not a single word has been exchanged between you. the only thing that could be heard was the crunch of gravel underneath your feet. you didn’t mind it since you barely knew jungwon - plus it didn’t look like he wanted anything to do with you anyways. but you had to admit, it was getting boring having to walk in silence. you decide to take one for the team and open up a conversation.
“so,” you started, “your real name’s jungwon? and your hero name is jakah. how did you come up with it?” you asked, expecting a reply from him. but nope, you were only met with silence. “okay,” you muttered, “i don’t know how i thought of ‘echo’ to be honest, it kind of just-“
“can you not?” he interrupted, voice filled with impatience, “i really don’t care about what you have to say.” his walking pace sped up so now he was walking in front of you.
sucking in a breath, you try to maintain your composure, “look i get it, you hate me for what i am and you were forced into this mission but i’m doing us both a favor to try to make this experience at least somewhat enjoyable.”
“okay, well don’t. you’re not my friend. i don’t trust you and i don’t like you. if it weren’t for the mission, i would’ve handed you and that partner of yours to the authorities myself.“
you weren’t going to lie, that stung a little. “hey, fuck you too. it’s not like i had a choice either. you were the one that kidnapped us so if anything you put yourself into this mess. you could’ve left us as is but no, you had to go and prove that you were good enough to your precious heeseung.” you argued, if he wants to be an asshole, you’ll be one in return.
jungwon’s face flushed with anger. he hated how right you were. he hated how you knew that he accepted this mission to show heeseung how capable he is to have a job as big as this. he hated you. “tell me where the amulet is. i’ll go get it myself.” he demanded.
“no.” you said firmly, “you won’t be able to get it without me. like heeseung said, i’m the ‘key’ to finding it.” you decided to end the conversation right there.
as you were about to continue walking, you feel jungwon pull harshly at your wrist. “bullshit. you’re not the key. i don’t care about how special you think you are to this mission, tell me where the amulet is.”
“or what? you’ll kill me? leave me for dead? you don’t scare me, jungwon. i’ve been through it all.” you yank your wrist from his grasp, glaring at him.
“fuck this.” he mutters, walking away from you.
“where are you going?” you yell.
“i’m finding the amulet myself.” he yells back, his figure shrinking as he walked away.
“asshole.” you muttered under your breath. there was nothing else you could do. it was very evident jungwon hates you and couldn’t even stand being around you.
that’s his problem.
you genuinely had no idea how jungwon would find the amulet on his own. he had no leads. you tried to warn him. for once, you wanted to be a good person and help someone out, but of course it blows up in your face. maybe this was just how things are for you - always trying to do the right thing, only for you to face the consequences. maybe it’s just a fated thing for you to be a villain.
as you walked to your destination, your mind couldn’t help but wander off to jungwon. this was the dangerous part in the city. it’s basically the abandoned part, no one dares to go here. it has everything bad you can imagine - thieves, gangs, all the sketchy things. you knew this place like the back of your hand unlike jungwon. this was your territory and that is why you should’ve stuck with him. he could get himself killed here. but wait, why are you worrying so much about him? why are you wondering where he is or if he’s even okay? it’s not your business. he was the one that wanted to go off on his own. he hates you. you remind yourself.
but he needs me.
as embarrassing as it is to admit, jungwon was completely lost. he had no idea where he was going. and the fact that the night time is slowly approaching does not help with his situation. everything’s starting to look the same to him. he could’ve sworn he saw that tree 3 times already. is he just going in circles at this point?
jungwon mentally cursed at himself for letting his stubbornness take over. maybe it was a good idea for you to lead the way since it did look like you knew what you were doing. but did he want to admit that? no, not at all. you were a villain and to him, all villains are the same - cold and heartless. of course, he would have his guard up.
…but was he too harsh? the more jungwon recalled your conversation, the more he started feeling somewhat guilty? to how he treated you. you never really fought back unless you had to, you were just doing what you had to do.
jungwon was conflicted. he can’t seem to figure you out. you’re not like any of the villains jungwon has come across. you haven’t tried to kill him or cause harm ever since you started the mission. in fact, you were so willing to go and find the amulet for heeseung - and you’re pretty determined to find it. why is that? and why are you being so secretive about the location of the amulet? why were you the “key”? there were too many unanswered questions. he wants to know more, more about you.
wait what?
snapping out of his thoughts, jungwon checks back into reality only to find him falling to the ground with a rope tied around his ankles. he must’ve stepped into a trap while he wasn’t paying attention. panicking, he tries to quickly untie himself but is suddenly pinned down by a masked man holding a knife to his throat.
“well, well, well, what is jakah doing out here all by himself?” the man cackles. jungwon looks around frantically for his gun but finds it a few inches away from him. it was too far for him to reach. “where’s your little girlfriend? did she leave out here to die? classic echo.” the outline of the man’s wide grin can be seen through his mask, “guess you’ll have to die out here alone. well deserved.”
jungwon could feel the blade pushing deeper and deeper into his neck. he winces in pain but suddenly he feels the man’s hand go limp. he opens his eyes to find that a blade has gone through the man’s chest, blood dripping all over him. he falls off to the side.
it was you. you saved him.
breathing heavily, you stare at jungwon. he stares back, expression unreadable. did you run to him? how did you find him? “it’s you.” he let out a small breath of relief.
you haven’t looked away from him. jungwon observed your expression. you looked relieved? hesitantly you asked, “are you hurt?”
he shook his head, “no, i’m okay.” you nodded, bending down to help untie his ankles. you helped him up afterwards. neither of you knew what to say. last time you talked, it ended badly. you didn’t want it to happen again but at the same time, you wanted to stay by his side. you can feel his eyes on you - scared to look at him, you looked somewhere else. “…i think you should lead the way.” you heard him say softly, catching you by surprise. the only thing you could do was nod. for once, you didn’t have anything to say. jungwon wasn’t used to it.
you were getting closer to your destination. the building was in sight. all you had to do was cross a bridge and go through a run-down building then you have made it. the closer you got, the more the nerves started to kick in. this was not how you expected your day to go. you were not expecting to run an errand for good guys. you were not expecting to see that person again. you didn’t want to.
noticing the slight shift in your energy, jungwon looks to you and asks, “is everything okay?”
“hm? oh… yeah i’m fine. just thinking…” you replied, trailing off. jungwon waited for you to continue your sentence but you didn’t. “we’re almost there. we just need to cross this bridge and enter that building, then we can bring the amulet back to your boss,” you paused, “then i’ll be out of your way.” you gave him a small fake smile but he could easily see through it.
you weren’t going to lie, you didn’t want the mission to end. to your surprise, you enjoyed your time with jungwon even if it was rough at first. it was a different experience, but a good one. you liked being on the good side for once. you also couldn’t ignore the fondness you have developed for the boy… you were going to miss this.
jungwon only nodded, feeling a strange pang in his heart. to his surprise, he also felt a bit of disappointment that the mission was coming to an end. he has grown used to your company in a short amount of time. he’s not used to having a partner but honestly, he likes it. it’s going to be hard for him going back to working alone.
the two of you walked in a comfortable silence but that was soon interrupted when you suddenly gasped in disbelief, “no way!”
confused, jungwon watches you run ahead to look at something over the bridge railing, “where are you going?” he asks, catching up.
he looks at you and notices an excited expression on your face. his gaze slightly softens as he observes this rare expression, “it still looks the same…” you whisper. jungwon looks to where you were looking. there was a small pond surrounded by a beautiful field of healthy grass filled with white daisies. a weeping willow stood nearby, adding to the scene. it looked like something straight out of a storybook. it was very much different sight to see compared to what you have seen throughout your journey.
you turned to jungwon with a grin, “i used to go here a lot as a kid. i’d sit by the pond and take in the silence…” you reminisced, tons of memories were coming back to you - the good and bad.
“you’ve been here before?” jungwon asked, seeing a hint of sadness in your eyes.
“i grew up here actually.” you confessed softly, “it didn’t always use to look like this,” you said, gesturing to the area around you. “it was nice actually, quiet.”
“i can see why you liked this place…” he commented, taking in the beautiful sight in front of him. he’s never seen you this calm before.
you thought carefully about what you wanted to say next. for some reason, you felt like you could tell jungwon anything at this moment. you felt safe. “you must be so confused on what exactly it is we’re doing,” you chuckled, grabbing jungwon’s attention, “uhm, you know how heeseung said that i was the key to getting the amulet?” he nodded slowly, “well, that’s because the person who has the amulet is my father.” jungwon’s eyes widened, it’s all starting to make sense now. “i haven’t seen him in years. i’m pretty sure he doesn’t even know that i’m alive.” you let out a bitter laugh.
“what do you mean by that?” jungwon asked cautiously. judging by your tone, this might be something you’d want to talk about. he’s not expecting you to open up to him especially with how he has treated you.
“i hope you realize i’m about to trauma dump you,” you joked, jungwon didn’t laugh. instead, he looked concerned - something that completely caught you off guard. because of this, your expression changed back to a serious one. “i wasn’t always like this,” you gestured to yourself, “bad, i mean. in fact, growing up i wanted to be a superhero. the idea of saving and helping people always spoke out to me as well as having people look up to you. but, not all dreams come true.” you sighed, “my father isn’t exactly the greatest person, in my opinion. i mean, he left me for dead at a very young age just to save that precious amulet of his. it’s funny cause i actually know heeseung,” hearing his name, jungwon perks up, “heeseung’s been looking for that amulet for all these years because of the secrets it holds. like he said, it being in the wrong hands can lead to chaos,” your eyes begin to water as you recall past events, “one day, my father and i were cornered by heeseung and his men. he demanded for the amulet but, my dad refused. a fight broke out, i tried to hide somewhere but my dad threw a bomb as a distraction and ran off, leaving me behind. everyone leaves, it was just me. i thought my dad would come back for me but nope. i was all scared and alone. so i had to do what i could to survive and unfortunately those things weren’t necessarily considered to be good acts…”
“heeseung didn’t save you? and where was your mom?” he asked, puzzled why heeseung would leave you behind.
“heeseung didn’t care about me. all he wanted was the amulet. and my mom died when i was a baby - complications during birth.”
“i’m so sorry…” jungwon placed his hand on top of yours, rubbing soothing circles. you looked down at your hands, surprised by his sudden gesture. your heart fluttered at his actions. “that must’ve been so hard to go through all alone.”
“i wasn’t alone.” you smile fondly, “i had jeno.”
“what is jeno to you exactly?” you raise an eyebrow at him, “if you don’t mind me asking…”
“why? are you jealous?” you tease.
“no.” yes he was. “i’m just trying to get to know you better.” he quickly clarified.
“you definitely weren’t trying to do that before,” you laugh, “but no, jeno’s not my boyfriend. he’s just someone really special to me. he found me when i was all alone and he stuck by my side through it all. he saved me when i needed somebody the most. so i owe him my life really.”
“is that why you accepted the mission so quickly, despite your father?” he asked.
you nodded, “i can’t just leave him there. he needs me. and it could give us the life we’ve always wanted.”
“and what’s that life you’ve always wanted?” jungwon’s not sure what possessed him but he built up the courage to get a little closer to you. his entire body now facing you.
flustered by the close proximity, you stuttered, “uhm not having to commit any more crimes. living in a quiet, peaceful area, nothing coming to bother us. just enjoying each other’s company…” you trailed off, looking into jungwon’s eyes, neither of you wanting to break eye contact. you could’ve sworn you saw his eyes flickered to your lips.
“and you want to live this life with jeno?” he asks, raising an eyebrow. his hand reaches up to brush a strand of hair away from your face.
“yes…” you whisper.
“okay.” was all he said, before turning his attention back to the pond.
you needed a second to calm down your racing heart. “well, i basically just told you my entire life story, what’s yours?” you ask.
he shrugged, “there’s not much to tell. just your average superhero origin story.”
you scoff, “please, i’m sure your story is very entertaining. i wanna learn more about you.”
he breathes out “well, kind of like you, i have always been on my own my whole childhood. but that was my choice. i’ve always wanted to be a superhero so i made that my entire life. i was dead set on becoming one so i ran at every opportunity to help people. eventually, all my acts got heeseung’s attention so he took me under his wing. he trained me and got me to where i am today. i’ve always looked up to him and never wanted to let him down. i guess it’s cause i don’t want him to regret choosing me to become a hero...”
“you’re a good person, jungwon.” you say, “i have a lot of respect for you actually. i think heeseung’s very lucky to have you. he’d be an idiot to not recognize all that you’ve done.” you smile.
“you know, you’re not the scary villain you make yourself to be.”
you laugh, “everyone has some layers to them.”
you and jungwon finally reach your father’s hideout. standing in front of the door, you let out a shaky breath. you feel jungwon’s hand on your shoulder, “hey, i’m right here.” he offers you a reassuring smile.
“here goes nothing.” you mumbled, opening the door.
you slowly walk in, looking for any sign of him. you gesture for jungwon to look around. as you wandered around and took in the details of his hideout, your mind couldn’t help but wander back to the past. how could he just leave you like that? you always thought you and your father had a strong relationship but apparently not since he was able to leave you so easily. you wondered if things would’ve been different if he never left you. maybe you could’ve walked down the better path. but that would mean that you’d never have met jeno… and even jungwon. that’s something you can’t even imagine - and you don’t even want to.
“y/n,” you hear jungwon call out anxiously. you quickly turn your head towards the sound of his voice and the scene in front of you causes you to freeze. there stood your father pointing a gun at jungwon, his hands were in the air, silently praying that he wouldn’t get shot.
you let out a shaky breath, “put down the gun. he’s with me.”
to your surprise, he slowly lowered the gun, “you’ve grown so much.” he said, his voice tinged with nostalgia.
“well that’s what growing up does to you. you could’ve seen it if you hadn’t abandoned me.” you said coldly.
“i did what i had to.” he defended, causing you to roll your eyes.
“you did what you had to?” you scoffed, “so leaving me for an amulet was your top priority. wow, you deserve a ‘dad of the year’ award.” you say, sarcastically.
“we’re not doing this right now, what even brings you here? why are you suddenly working with a superhero.” he motions towards jungwon, who’s eyes were only on you.
“that shouldn’t concern you,” you shook your head, “i need the amulet.”
“i’m not giving you the amulet, y/n.” he sighed, “you should know that.”
“i see you’re still the same,” you spit out, “you stole that amulet, dad. what good does that even do for you? it’s been years and you haven’t even done anything with it. why do you want to live the rest of your life in hiding?”
“i need this amulet for answers, y/n. don’t you want to find out more about our family history?”
“there’s a reason why this amulet was locked away. maybe those secrets could do more harm than good,” you look down at the ground, “besides, i have no interest in our family… i had to learn the hard way that i don’t even have one.”
the room goes silent at your words. all jungwon wanted to do was pull you into your arms and tell you that it wasn’t true - that you are loved and you have a family.
“i know you want nothing to do with me. but please, give me the amulet. you’ll never see my face again, i promise. i really really need it,” you beg, you don’t even care how pathetic you look now. all you wanted was to get this stupid amulet and save your best friend. “i have so much on the line.”
you honestly have no idea what you had just said because suddenly you see that the amulet has been tossed at your feet. you quickly bend down to pick it up and examine it. you had to make sure it wasn’t a trap. “i don’t know why you need this so badly or what even happened but… the last thing i want to is my daughter to lost whatever she has left.”
your eyes fill your tears but you quickly blink them away. “thank you.” you whisper.
“now go before i regret it.” he said with an awkward laugh.
you nod and begin to walk out but you were stopped by your father calling out to you, “i know i wasn’t the best dad but… i do love you, y/n. and i wish you the best in everything.”
you didn’t know what to say to that. it definitely wasn’t something you were expecting. but due to your circumstances, you couldn’t really give him a proper answer… so all you did was give him a sad smile before leaving.
once reaching the outside again, you and jungwon immediately make your way back to heeseung. you felt like you can finally breathe again. you stare at the amulet in your hands. this was what ruined what you had left of a family - this chunk of gold. “are you okay?” you hear jungwon say.
you nodded, smiling out of reflex, “yeah, of course. let’s just get back, yeah?”
his gaze lingered on you, a concerned expression on his face“you know, you don’t always have to put on a strong face. it’s okay to let your walls down, y/n.”
his words made you stop. the walls you’ve spent years building suddenly crumble before you. your breath hitches and for some reason, you were no longer able to hold back your tears. jungwon, without hesitation, pulls you into his embrace.
“it’s just hard,” you sobbed into his shoulder, “ i don’t even know how i got here. how did i fall down this path? i don’t want it.”
“it’s not your fault, y/n.” he comforted, “it’s never too late to start all over. you have it in you, you can be the person you want to be. it’s all over now, you and jeno can finally leave. you deserve it.”
“but i don’t want to leave you.” you confessed, pulling away from him.
his shoulders fell and he gently cupped your cheeks, wiping away your tears with his thumbs, “i don’t want to leave you either,” he admits softly, “but you deserve a chance at a second life.”
you stare into his eyes, seeing the sincerity in them. never would you have thought that you’d fall for the yang jungwon. the same goes for him. you’re from two very different worlds, it was never expected you’d even be on good terms with each other. but apparently in your situation, it was possible. it was something special.
“heeseung? we’re back.” jungwon announces, heeseung immediately runs up to you.
“you got the amulet?” he asked, a little surprised that you managed to make it back.
“right here,” you pull out the amulet and gave it to him.
he sighs in relief and examines the amulet, “finally,” he mutters under his breath. you watch heeseung in anticipation, waiting for his next words, “good work.” he comments.
you see him glance at someone from behind you, gesturing something. before you could look back, you felt your wrists being restrained, “w-wait, what are you doing?” you panic.
“you really think i’d let a villain run loose? wow, you really are pathetic.” heeseung snickers, “lock her up.” he tells the man that’s restraining you.
shock ran through your body as you try to process what had just happened. you struggle against the restraints and resist the man holding you back but the more you tried, the weaker you felt. your heart races as you were being dragged towards the cells.
“jungwon!” you call out in desperation.
“hey, this wasn’t part of the deal!” he yelled, attempting to run to you but heeseung holds him back. “let her go!” he tries to fight back but it’s no use. you’re already gone.
jungwon looks at heeseung in disbelief, “let her go.” he commands.
“since when did you care about her?” heeseung’s face drops, “don’t tell me you’ve fallen for her… do you know who she is?”
“i know that she’s a good person. she just fell down the right path but she’s capable.” he defends. “and you,” jungwon points a finger at heeseung’s chest, “you could’ve helped her. she wouldn’t be where she is right now if you’d help her when she was a kid. but you left her.” he accused. “you’re no better than her father.”
heeseung’s face hardens the more jungwon accuses him, “that’s not how you talk to your boss. don’t let your emotions take over.”
“i’ll talk to you however i want to!” he retorts, “you let her suffer. you could’ve saved her but you chose not to. you’re just as responsible for how she turned out.”
you sat in your cell, listening to every word that was being exchanged between heeseung and jungwon. you could hear the echoes of jungwon’s heavy footsteps as he walked away in frustration. now it was just you left alone once again.
you pull at your hair in anger. what now?
it felt like hours since you’ve been locked up. you sat against the wall in defeat. you lost. you don’t know what to do anymore. you shouldn’t even be surprised. of course you’d get locked up - you’re a bad guy after all and that’s a hero’s job, put away the bad guys. you should’ve have gotten your hopes up. “jeno?” you croaked.
he hummed in response, “i’m sorry.” you say, your voice cracking, “this is my fault. i shouldn’t have trusted them.”
“it’s not your fault, y/n. stop blaming yourself for things that are out of your control. you did what you could.” he says gently.
“we’re never going to be able to be free. it’s never going to happen.”
“you don’t know that,” he whispers, “this might be another one of those sticky situations we get stuck in. we’ll get out of this.”
“it’s not that likely.” you sigh. you close your eyes, feeling exhausted and drained. there really was nothing you could do. all you could do was just sit and await your fate.
moments pass until you hear hurried footsteps coming towards your direction. you perk up, in caution. turning the corner, revealed jungwon who was out of breath. “jungwon?” you stood up and walked closer to the bars. jeno perks up, watching the two of you.
“i’m getting you guys out of here,” he whispers, “i’m not letting you stay here.”
your heart flutters once more. this boy will never fail to surprise you. “but what about heeseung? he’s gonna kill you once he finds out you let us out.” you asked, concerned.
“that doesn’t matter to me. you’re more important.” jungwon opens your cell and quickly moves over to jeno’s.
“why are you helping us?”
“because i know there’s more to you than being a bad guy. you’re a good person, y/n. you just need a chance.” your gaze softens, “come on, hurry. follow me.”
the three of you run through a hidden passageway jungwon found. next thing you knew, you were able to be the light again. you walked until there was some good distance between you and heeseung’s place. reality begins to hit you and you start to realize what’s about to happen. you look at jeno and he gives you a smile before walking away, giving you and jungwon some space. you stand, looking down at your feet, not being able to look at jungwon. you feel him getting closer to you, feeling his breath hit your face. “you made it.” he whispers, tilting your chin up to look at him.
“thanks to you,” you smile at him. “you saved me...”
“you saved me first,” he laughs softly, his smile then falters, “is… it selfish of me to say that i don’t want you to go even though i saved you?”
you laugh, “i don’t think so. i don’t want to leave you behind either.” your eyes well up with tears, “god, jungwon what have you done to me?” you sniffle.
jungwon lets out a small laugh before closing the distance between you. his lips press against yours, almost out of desperation. you return the kiss, wrapping your arms around his neck. you let your tears fall. you wish this moment could last forever… but unfortunately all good things must come to an end eventually.
you kissed until you ran out of air. pulling away, jungwon wipes your tears away and kisses your forehead. “you guys should start heading out. i don’t want heeseung finding you.” he says, voice wavering.
you nod sadly, “yeah…”
“i’ll come find you, i promise.”
“and i’ll wait for you.” jeno walks up to you and wraps an arm around your shoulder, giving you a comforting smile. you start to back away from jungwon, who gives you a sad smile. if you were able to hear the sound of his heart breaking, it would be very loud and clear. you had to fight the urge to just run back to him and stay with him, but you knew you had to leave. like jungwon said, you deserve a chance. you can’t give up now.
you give jungwon one last wave, “’til next time, partner.” you saluted and blew him a kiss.
there will be a next time. jungwon will make sure of it.

₊˚⊹♡ UNDER THE RAIN
₊˚⊹ notes ~ bf!heeseung x fem!reader ⋆⭒ warnings: kisses, rain, mentions about ex-girlfriend, crying, cursing ᶻ 𝗓 𐰁 word count: 400+꩜⋆ ˚。⋆˚ genre: fluff, drabble, comfort | LIBRARY FOR MORE...
YOU FOUND YOURSELF IN AN ARGUEMENT WITH HEESEUNG— strong statement right? it all began when your best friend spotted him with his ex-girlfriend at a cafe, triggering an explosion of emotions without any prior explanation. everything that was piling on you just spilled right when he came back.
“just fucking leave me alone, heeseung.” you spat, your words laced with anger as you stormed out, leaving him speechless in the room. the reality was, he just went to go reject his ex's offer of getting back together, which you never let him explain. tears had welled up in your eyes, your knees trembling, your hair disheveled from the mental breakdown.
you walked aimlessly, trying to catch your breath, looking like a stupid idiot you were. thankfully, the darkness of the night provided no vision of how terrible you looked. despite your desire to turn back and apologize to heeseung, embarrassment held you back. then, true to your expectations, raindrops began to fall, adding to the complexity of the situation. standing in the rain, you sobbed silently, letting the regrets and pain wash away.
“YN?” a voice that ever yearned for. you turned around to find Heeseung, no umbrella, his hair completely soaked like yours. you immediately stood up, running into his arms. he embraced you tightly, your tears running down like streams of rivers.
“I’m sorry, I’m so sorry. I was just so foolish and stupid. I'm sorry..” your words barely audible amidst the downpour, clinging to him desperately. heeseung's gentle reassurance washed over you, his touch soothing you.
“It’s fine, I knew you were stressed and everything. I understand everything,” heeseung reassured, caressing your cheeks while admiring your beauty in the rain.
“are you sure, it’s fine?” you asked, a bit worried that you had hurt Heeseung.
“It’s fine, my princess.”he replied, a soft smile playing on his lips, then leaned in for a kiss. the kiss was everything you could ever ask for, passionate and sweet. the way his lips were so perfect against yours, the taste of the coffee he drank earlier flooded your tastebuds. his fingers found your waist, pulling you closer, while your hand threaded through his wet hair. still standing in the rain, the two of you pulled away and pressed your forehead together.
“I love you so much.” you whispered, with a grin.
“I love you so much too.” he smiled back, his words echoing in the quiet intimacy of the night.

one door over
PAIRING: jungwon x fem!reader
SYNOPSIS: jungwon moves in just one door over from Y/N and lucky for her she can see right into his bedroom window.
GENRE: smut
NOTE: so the poll ended up being a tie between Jungwon and Sunghoon! i released a fic of Sunghoon last night so we are gonna go with Jungwon for this one!! lmk if i should do some more polls in future
your mom had let you know earlier this week that you guys were going to have new Neighbours soon, but you didn't think it would be THIS soon. though you brush it off because who cares right? its just a new Neighbour who hasn't had plenty of those. you figured you'll meet them eventually knowing your mom she would invite them in for dinner or something heartwarming like that.
making your way downstairs to grab some water your eyes meet your mom making her way to the front door with a box of some random sweet treat and you already know what she's up too. god they haven't even been in their house 5 minutes and she's already off to greet them. you sigh then make your way back up to your room, closing your door behind you and throwing the plastic bottle of water onto your bed as you move to open your curtains and... oh?
thinking your eyes are playing some shit on you , you rub them but its still there. the silhouette of a man with sharp features and shirtless moving things around what you seem to think is his bedroom. quickly closing your curtains to avoid getting caught plain staring.
"Y/N ! " you hear your mothers voice call from downstairs. "yes mom?" voice calling out as you make your way downstairs "oh here you are! help me tidy down here our new Neighbours are coming for dinner" she sounds so happy to be hosting a family for dinner, you push a smile and agree to help her.
LATER
hearing greetings , what feels like thousands of hellos and your name being called, you rush downstairs.
your met by the sight of such a flawless boy and you ponder how anyone could look that good , hm maybe he's a only child just like you, looking around the room and it seems he's the only teenager apart from you. and of course you go up to greet and say hi to him how could you not?
but he bet you too it " hey I'm jungwon how are you?" oh he was so good looking "im good ! my names Y/N" you beam a smile at him , earning a smile back. shit hes so much taller than you.
inviting him to sit down on the couch with you, as your parents were caught up talking and dinner wasn't ready yet, you didn't want to just stand around awkwardly. "so, what brings you guys here" you ponder as you lean back on the couch. "well, my dad got a job opportunity here and well, obviously he took it so here i am" you nod in response simply interested in getting to know him. the both of you talk for a good 20 minutes, sharing stories, getting to know each other and when you get to the talk on houses...
"y'know i can see right into your bedroom, right?" you laugh, he quirks a eyebrow "oh really?" there's a thousand thoughts running through his mind and one of them is a real sleek plan. "yep, your bed and all if I wanted too i could watch you sleeping" "but I wont, I'm not weird" you laugh and joke before your mom calls you both for dinner.
the two families got along quite well, conversations here and there, lots of laughs and not so funny yet funny jokes.
after dinner you found yourselves all saying goodbyes and thank you's, and you had managed to score jungwons number.
10:39PM
jungwon had a plan, a real good one in his eyes too, now knowing you can see right into his bedroom and have an entire view of his bed? oh your so in for it. the subtle flirting and the closeness of your conversations earlier practically drove him up walls and he just had to have more of you in any way he could.
but you on the other hand, lying in bed on your phone, texting friends, endlessly scrolling through social media in boredom but your expression changes when the top of your screen lights up
jungwon
10:40PM
open your curtains 😉
you look up from the text message, what could he want me to open my blinds for? thinking a million things as to if why he would want you to do that, you brush those thoughts away and open your blinds
woah. sorry what?
the scene before you is near pornographic. his room dimly lit yet still light enough for you to see everything clear as day, his head thrown back in pleasure as he pumps his fist around his veiny and long dick. biting your lip at the sight before you as arousal pools in your panties.
ding you hear another message come through
jungwon
10:42PM
you should let me in through your window
oh this is so wrong but it feels ever so right? and who are you to decline such an amazing offer from a hot boy with a hell of a dick.
you
10:43PM
okay just be quiet tho
unlocking your window and quickly turning around to throw on a much more appealing and sexier pair of underwear as 'pajama bottoms' you lock your bedroom door and flop onto your bed, sipping some water as you wait for jungwon to break his way in.
with a little ruckus and the sound of your window closing, your met with your sexy as fuck neighbor, shirtless with only sweatpants on. biting your lip as he fixes his hair in your mirror you decide to catch him off guard "you have a really nice dick" speaking in a low tone as he turns around to you. "yeah? you wanna know how well i can use it?" hes smirking now, slowly coming to the edge of your bed.
your pulled to the end of your bed by your ankles, hips pressed against his as he pushes forward slightly against you. "you feel that baby?" his hard dick rubbing against you lightly. you nod in response, so needy for someone you had only just met. your mouth falls open with a deep exhale as you fell his fingers tugging on your panties, pulling them down and throwing them behind him.
his fingers graze over your pussy in such a teasing way, you cant help but push your hips onto his fingers in need of some friction he lets out a small tsk as he slowly rubs circles over your clit "so needy" he bites his lip you have such a pretty pussy using his free hand to push one of your legs up so your nice and spread out for him.
a digit finds its way into your sopping hole as your grip tightens on your bedsheets , he adds a second finger earning a reaction from you "jungwon!" hes satisfied at the sound, your pussy is so wet and he gets impossibly harder at the sight and sound of you. "you want this dick princess?" he breaths out and you nod eagerly , pussy begging for more as he removes his digits and finds himself dropping his pants and boxers to the floor.
shit its so big is all you can think in that moment, your thoughts are swiftly taken from you as he pushes past your entrance in a slick motion. bottoming out as you throw your head back and suck in a big gasp "oh fuck!" you whine out to him "i havent even moved yet" he laughs as he runs his hand over your tummy, he can feel his own dick there.
he slowly starts to thrust in and out, taking the air from your lungs with every movement. "p-please jungwon more" you look at him with your doe eyes and he cant resist you. without even a second to think he delivers a harsh and deep thrust that makes you borderline scream. "yeah you feel that dont you hm?" he teases you at the way you already look fucked dumb. he holds a steady pace, watching the way your face twists, as he says the dirtiest shit to you but fuck you love it so much.
your orgasm nearing clenching around him and moans getting higher, "you gonna cum? yeah gonna cum all over this big dick" he eggs you on, and he can feel the way you clench around him at his words. "yeah, shit, c'mon make a mess on this dick baby" he grunts as he moves a hand to rub your clit, he has you squirming and trying to run away from the pleasure.
seconds later your cumming all over this new found boys dick, high moans and heavy breathing fills the room. jungwon reaching his own high not long after you, spilling his seed on your stomach followed by a string of praises as he lies down next to you.
"i think i quite like this new neighbour of mine"

authors note ⟢ I am not from Barcelona, nor Madrid so if I get anything wrong please let me know. Also I hope my memory and research serves me right about the history parts included in all of these. + this is a veeery old story I had and just rewrote it but i hope you enjoy!
You have never really imagined yourself leaving your house with a carrier in your hand and your mom's shower of kisses, going to the airport, ready to board a plane headed straight for Barcelona, all on your own for a good 3 days of your summer vacation. A solo trip has been on your list of things to do before you turn 30 ever since you were in high school. Growing up, you've always dreamt of going to another country without your parents dragging you to gift shops after gift shops while all you just wanted to do was to go to the beach or to see their local museum.
And now, all of those long-awaited dreams are finally coming true. It took a while to convince your mom to let you travel alone since she's always been so strict. She kept on asking why would you insist on doing that and why don't you want to take the family with you. But after begging her to let you do it on your own because you want to use this opportunity so you can enjoy some alone time and independence, she finally gave you her permission, but only for 3 days, and with your own money —a deal that was more than enough for you. At surface level it may sound a bit suffocating having your parents know every plan you wish to do, but you know that she means well. Your mom has always restricted you on a lot of things, but if she sees that it makes her children happy then she does her best to keep her worries aside and just let them do the things that they want (with the exception of anything illegal that it; she wouldn't let you see the next day).
I took you more than two whole semesters of working part time at the local bakery and fighting the urge to buy every cute new shirt on display in order to earn enough from your paycheck to buy a plane ticket and save up enough pocket money before you can finally get to your dream vacation.
Everything was going well, there was no traffic on the way to the airport, the flight didn't get delayed, you were now on your second plane after the layover, the sky was clear, you got a window seat, and you had enough leg room. The only thing that bothered you was the fact that the man sitting next to you doesn't seem to value your personal space.
It's been the 5th time since departure that he kept on placing his head on your shoulder every time he decides to take a nap. All efforts of freeing your shoulder of this unknown man were put to waste whenever he keeps putting them back. You're a person that usually understands these kinds of situations, but god it was getting annoying. A man, seated in an aisle away from yours, seemed to notice your struggle. He was quiet but he kept side glancing at what was happening.
Park Jongseong (or as his close friends like to call him as Jay) heard the person seated across him let out a sigh every time the old geezer unknowingly placed his head on her shoulder. He saw the discomfort on your face and all your efforts to get him off of you.
It was honestly painful to watch.
He keeps seeing this young girl push the head of the stranger but then it keeps happening again and again.
And now, for the sixth time that it happened, you just decided to politely tell the man that you were getting uncomfortable, when he woke up he apologized and tried to fight off his drowsiness.
Guilt suddenly crept up your nerves thinking that this middle aged man couldn't even get some rest because you felt uneasy. Staring out of the window to avoid any more awkward encounters, when suddenly Jay broke the quiet air. "Excuse me sir, could we perhaps switch seats? I need to ask my friend about something and I wouldn't want to be rude by talking to her while you're in the middle."
You averted your gaze from the window to the guy who was now standing up to gather his things. (Much to your surprise that is. Was he that tired to just let a random dude give him orders to switch places?)
A young man (who, based on his looks, was the same age as you) took the old man’s place; who now was resting quietly in his new seat.
You looked at the new stranger seated beside you and quietly observed his features. He had a high bridge nose, his lips were full and plump, his eyebrows were dark and he had a striking jawline to compliment them. His jet black hair seemed to match his tanned skin.
He looked at you and gave you a small smile.
Should I say thank you? You thought to yourself
You kept looking at him, with no expression on your face. Jongseong’s smile started to change into an awkward one, not really knowing what to do at this point. To him, he just wanted to do something nice for the girl who looked like was about to burst out at any given moment. But now, you're giving him a blank look and a quiet atmosphere that made him feel like he did something that bothered you even more.
"Uhm...thank you" You whispered.
With those words, his smile returned to his face. "No problem, I saw you struggle there for a bit. It'd be really tiring if you had to do that for the whole flight" He said to you in a hushed voice, being careful not to be heard.
“Well thankfully I wouldn’t have to experience that. It’s nice of you” You hushed back, removing your gaze off of him and back to the window of clouds and blue skies.
___
More than 5 hours had passed and the plane was still in the air.
After getting some shut eye, you're starting to feel numbness as you sit through the whole flight dozing off or watching a series. You and the stranger seated next to you haven't had a conversation since he switched seats with the other man. The only exchange you had after that was when you had to excuse yourself to go to the bathroom.
You weren't really one for conversation. You've always had trouble starting conversations with people, and you struggled to keep them going. And seeing that you were either too busy sleeping or crying over another episode of the drama that you were watching, the handsome boy didn't seem to bother to talk to you either.
You were onto the last few episodes and things were starting to get very emotional and being the type of person that gets their emotions attached to these kinds of dramas, you unfortunately couldn't control the tears that escaped from your eyes; in a place like this, besides a cute guy who was probably judging you right now.
Jay thought it was cute though; How this girl beside him reacted to every scene that she was watching. He doesn't even know if she was aware that he heard her gasp when one of the main character's secrets were revealed, or how she started smiling when the leads kissed. Now, she's been shedding tears and she was desperately trying to hide it.
While trying to cover your face with your hands by wiping the tears that fell on your cheek, you suddenly felt a tap on your shoulder, only to be met with a pack of tissues. You looked at the stranger (whose name you still don't know), and the tissues he was holding out.
"These might help" He smiled at you once again and you couldn't help but feel embarrassed. You hesitated to grab them. His hand was still reaching out and he continued by saying "Take one, I completely understand. Episode 16 was the worst"
With the small piece of dignity you had left, you took a piece, quickly thanked him, and returned to your screen. You can see from the corner of your eye that he let out a small laugh.
Great. He must think I'm a total weirdo.
After finishing the last episode, and milking your eyes out, You have finally decided to take a rest from watching. Jay looked at you and gave you a thumbs up, non-vocally asking you if you were okay.
Letting out a small laugh, you looked at your feet before speaking.
"I'm sorry you had to witness that" You told him in a hushed voice while trying to avoid eye contact. "It's fine, I couldn't stop crying myself when I finished the drama"
Deciding to try and have a good conversation with the nice guy, you finally looked back at him. "So are you traveling alone?" You asked him.
"Yeah, I've always wanted to go to Barcelona. They say their beaches are the best, and could make you speechless and I want to see it for myself" He excitedly told you.
"Is it your first time to travel alone?"
"Not really. This would be my third time" You nodded and told him how lucky he is that he got to do it often.
"How about you?" He asked you back. "Is it your first solo trip?"
You said yes by slowly nodding your head. "I'm really nervous if I have to be honest. My mom usually plans our trips. I don't even know what I would do If I got lost. I didn't even get a tour guide, because that wouldn't fit my budget." You start talking while playing with your fingers.
"It's going to be fun. Don't worry too much. If something bad happens, then it happens. You could miss out on so many great things if you begin to worry."
He gave out another smile. Something that is weirdly comforting from a stranger.
"Ladies and Gentlemen, we are now approaching Barcelona where the local time is 1:00 PM. Please be in your seat with your seatbelt firmly fastened...."
With the sound of the speakers telling everyone to prepare for landing, the conversation was immediately cut off. You went to check if your seatbelt was fastened and if the seat tables were stowed away properly. Your phone was turned off so you didn't have to worry about it. You've always hated take offs and landing. The ear clogging is painful and irritating. Just as you were about to prepare for ringing in your ears, the guy beside you started to pass you something again.
This time it was chewing gum.
"Do you want some? I chew on them it so my ears won't hurt during landing"
How does he seem to have a solution for everything I go through?
You grabbed the gum and thanked him before you could even hear the insufferable ear popping.
When you felt the plane land and when the cabin crews finally announced your arrival, you stood up quickly feeling the numbness in your legs that you have to pray to the gods that you wouldn't stumble over and make a fool out of yourself.
When you've finally got a hold of all your carry-ons, you prepared yourself to head out of the plane doors but before you did, saying thank you to the kind stranger who treated you well wouldn’t hurt.
But as you turn around in search of the striking set of eyes and beautiful tanned skin, he was nowhere to be found
Your eyes scanned what was left of the plane but only a few people were there, and none were of him.
I guess that was it. I never even got his name.
When the Barcelona air had hit your face and the unfamiliar landscape had come into your view, you've finally realized something; you're going to be doing this on your own now. No parents. No siblings. No tour guide. Not even a kind stranger to help you sort things out.
It's just you, alone, ready to take on an adventure that you've waited for so long.
___
You were lucky to get a great hotel at the heart of the Gothic Quarter, located just near the cathedral. It was summer and a lot of families were on vacation so you worried whether you'd be getting a good place to stay without having to pull out any more money than you've already had. Luckily for you, one of the hotels with good reviews that offers a cheap price had a room fitted enough for your liking and budget.
After setting down your things in the room, you decided to give the place a tour. The walls were painted white and they were accented with wood to fit the classy mood. There was a huge sliding window that connected the room and a small balcony that gives you a great view of the skyline. The room was small so there really wasn't much to look at. It was your typical summer hotel room but you couldn't complain. You were just glad you got here. You decided to go outside and take a look at the whole building before you decide to tour Barcelona. Grabbing your camera, you headed outside on the way to their lobby.
It was crowded, a lot of families were already here. Some were lounging on the couch and the children were running around. The staff was busy but they still accommodated their guests well. You decided to ask them for more inclusions and fair enough, you were pretty satisfied. They served a breakfast buffet and a rooftop pool. Although most hotels have that now, you still couldn't hide your smile.
It was time that you decided to go tour the city, starting with the cathedral that was a few blocks from my accommodation. A lot of people have said that the Barcelona Cathedral was something everyone must see in their lifetime. And there was no denying how amazing it was. With its gothic architecture and tall structures, you would’ve beat yourself up if you missed the chance to witness it.
You quickly took out your camera and started snapping pictures. Growing up loving the arts, you have always appreciated these kinds of things. The way the building was structured had you at awe. Photos wouldn't capture its beauty. You decided to go closer when you heard a deep voice behind you.
"Excuse me, could I take a picture?"
You turned around, surprised by the voice, but what surprised you more was who owned it.
It was him. The kind stranger that sat beside you on the plane. He was holding his camera that was hanging from his neck. He gave you a smile once again and a wave of his hand as if to say hello. "Either this is a coincidence or fate just wants us together”.
"What are you doing here?" You asked with surprise and confusion written on your face. "I mean, I did tell you I'm here on vacation right?" He said as if it was obvious.
Of course he is, why would I even ask that.
"I'm sorry I scared you." He apologized while giving a worried smile.
"No, don't worry, I just wasn’t expecting anyone. Just a bit surprised, that's all"
It really was a surprise. Even Jay questioned whether it was her or not.
He just got to the cathedral when he saw her standing in the middle with her looking through her viewfinder. He didn't believe it at first but after getting a good look, he knew it was her.
Then it felt awkward. There were hundreds of people and cars making noise around but the silence between the two of you was deafening.
To avoid the atmosphere you decided to just look through the photos on your camera. Until he spoke again.
"Do you want to check the inside?"
Without hesitation, you nodded your head since that was what you were planning to do before he arrived.
And so two pairs of feet led the both of you inside the infamous gothic church. The stranger was standing beside you making it seem like the both of you arrived together on purpose. People who don't know any better would think that the both of you are on this trip as a couple on their honeymoon (not that you would want people to think that).
It's either he must really respect your space or he was just as fascinated as you as he decided to not hold a conversation after entering the wide doors. Jongseong quickly took notice of the fact that you took your time to admire the interior of the cathedral. After looking at the beautiful ceiling he glanced at your amazed expression and involuntarily let out a small smile that even he wasn't aware of.
As you took your time looking up at the sculpted pillars and the intricate details of the altars and pews that were lit with a golden tint, mixed with the natural light that came from the stained glass windows, the mysterious man started talking again.
"Its other name is The Cathedral of the Holy Rosary and Saint Eulalia"
Looking from the altar to his face that the natural lighting perfectly captured, you waited for him to continue what he was saying, intriguing your curious and hungry mind. He was looking away from your gaze as he went on with what he had to say. "Most people know the place as the Barcelona Cathedral while locals like to call it La Seu."
After his explanation, he looked back at you and met with your eyes and went back to his discussion. "They named it after Saint Eulalia. She was a martyr. Was only 13 at the time that she was murdered by Roman soldiers. Poor soul was even tortured before her death. 13 different times specifically."
"Why'd they murder her?" You asked back, curious as to what happened.
"They said that she didn't want to renounce her Christianity when everyone was told to do so" His voice trailed off. He placed his hands inside the pockets of his coat and rocked on his heel. "I think it's admirable how she stuck to what she believed in despite other people telling her otherwise."
You thought to yourself, this man was really full of surprises. You came to this country hoping to learn something new but you never thought that it would be from a boy you met on the plane. "I guess you've done your research before coming here" You stated.
"I've read them somewhere. Stuff like these have always piqued my interest. Churches, paintings, sculptures, you name it."
"Art student?" You asked him with a raised brow.
"Was I too obvious?" He replied with a smirk. The both of you started to let out a small laugh while unintentionally synchronizing as you both stared at your feet.
"How about you?" Confused as to what he meant, you stared up at him with both brows raised. "Art student?" With a sad smile you shook your head left and right slowly. "Uhm...no. Legal management actually" He hummed and nodded at the same time in response.
"Lawyer?" He asked again. "I hope so". Jongseong seemed to notice the way you reacted but didn't dwell too much as to why. He just decided to switch back to your previous topic. "Well attorney, the locals also said that their cloister is also a must-see" His deep voice enthusiastically mentioned letting go of your previous conversation. "Then we should"
The both of you walk down the path on the way to the open-aired garden. At the heart of it was a beautiful sunbathed oasis that housed geese. Holding out your camera, you looked through the viewfinder to get a perfect shot of the scenery. Adjusting the zoom, aperture, and the angle in order to capture all of its beauty.
To your right, unknown to you, Jongseong was taking his own pictures. Not of the scenery. But of the person who captured his attention.
__
Your mom would pull out every strand of her hair all at once if she ever finds out that her daughter is roaming a foreign city with a man she just met.
You're honestly surprised that you aren't kicking your ass for something that could possibly be so dangerous. For all you know, this man could have been a serial killer or your stalker that had finally cornered you in a place that you know nothing of.
But alas, here you are heading for a small bookshop on the corner of La Rambla, Barcelona, because the both of you have found out that you enjoy the aura of bookstores.
You don't really understand it yourself as to why you would agree to let this man take you there without even knowing his name. However, something about him made you rely on him. His cold exterior was washed over by his warm and kind personality that you just couldn't help but see him as someone you could depend upon.
Known by a lot of people, you love reading. A small space at your home was dedicated to a shelf of all of the novels that you have read all throughout your reading journey. So when your strange new friend mentioned that he saw an antique bookshop on the way to the Cathedral, you did not hesitate to let him take you there.
The beautiful tree-lined pedestrian street of La Rambla was filled with people — tourists and locals. The streets were crowded and you made sure to look over your stuff in case there were any pickpockets. Your new friend decided that he should walk a step behind you to keep you safe.
Taking a short turn, your eyes have finally met with a bookshop that had an antique housing to compliment its aesthetic. You stared up at him to confirm whether this was the place that he was referring to. He nodded and held out his arms which meant that you should go in first.
You opened the doors to the bookstore and you were quickly met with an array of books and novels lined up on wooden shelves with a number of rows. The inside was incredibly quaint and you hoped to the gods that you could find a good book in English without having to spend hours looking through all of them.
You weren't the only one fascinated with what you saw. You looked at the person beside you to see that he had his mouth open and his eyes fixated on the rows of shelves that lined up inside the antique bookshop.
The both of you wasted no time looking through the number of books. Your eyes quickly scan the shelves for a nice read. The titles were filled with different genres and languages. Fiction, travel guides, biographies, classics, history memoirs. It was every bibliophile's dream. You weren't really sure what you were looking for to begin with.
Should I get a Jane Austen novel? Or maybe a memoir on Princess Diana? A dystopian book? A different version of your Percy Jackson books that you have on your shelf? Or maybe just get another law book for one of your legal management classes to get it over with.
You thought to yourself as you looked through the pages of every novel that your hands could pick up. You decided to look through the shop when you finally caught the sight of your companion. He had his back turned as he was looking through a book over at one section of the shop. Arts section. You should've known.
You decided to take a look at this section yourself. As you approached his figure, Jongseong turned around sensing yours. You waited until you approached him before speaking. "Found something you like?"
He nodded his head yes as he showed you what book he wanted to buy. A memoir on Michaelangelo. "How about you?" This time, he asked you. You nodded your head no with a sad smile. "I don't even know what I'm looking for"
"Well, what do you like?" He asked again.
"What inspires you?"
"Uhm....I don't know. Politics? Maybe I could read about the policies around he-" You weren't even able to finish your sentence because you were cut off with his deep voice. Jay knew that tone and expression. That voice didn't show genuine love for what you were talking about.
"What do you honestly like?" Not believing your excuse, he asked again.
You took a few seconds to answer his question. "I like photography".
He raised his eyebrows at you. His body was now facing yours and his eyes were intently looking at your face while listening closely to what you have to say. "I've always liked photography. When my mom bought me my camera, I wouldn't let go of it and just take photos of everything. I've only tried landscapes because that was the only thing I could start with. I've wanted to do portraits but I don't have enough ideas on how to do it. Plus, my major doesn't really give me the time to practice."
Jay saw the twinkle in your eyes as you talked about your love for the art form. "Then it's settled. Let's get you a book on that one"
Without even realizing it, he was soon dragging you all across the bookshop trying to look for the perfect book to take home.
And somehow, someway, after buying yourself a book on the art of photography, you and your companion found yourselves having dinner at one of the restaurants you found down the street. The both of you have decided to try tapas.
You didn't know when, but the awkward atmosphere that the both of you had when you first met was replaced with comfort and a light air.
Despite not knowing each other's names, you talked as if you're old friends that were catching up with one another after not seeing each other for years. While waiting for the order to arrive, the both of you started discussing what other places you plan to go to during your stay.
"There's this place I saw online. I was planning to go there. But it's getting late, I think it'd be better if I go there when the sun is still out" You said to the young man that was sitting across from you. "What's it called?" He asked.
"Uhm it's a park. I think it's called Ciutadella? Ciutadella Park?" You told him not really sure if your pronunciation was correct.
His eyes immediately widened, signalling that he knew what you were talking about. "I was planning to go there too! They have this amazing cascada inside the park. It’s near The Sagrada Familia if you want to check that out too. " He told you with an excited tone. You smiled at his reaction.
Suddenly, you wondered whether the both of you would be going together just like what you did today. You thought about if it was a good thing to ask him that because you didn't want to seem like you have attached yourself already with your travel partner and that you would want to tour the city with him again tomorrow. It was silly to be honest. Why would I want to go sightseeing with this man when the only thing I know about him is his face and his love for art? You realized that you were still in mid conversation and that it was rude to just go quiet all of the sudden.
"I was planning to practice taking pictures once I got there" You said to him. Your fingers were playing with the utensils you had in front of you. While slightly tapping on the wooden table, Jay replied. "That's great then. I guess we should go there early so you have enough natural light."
We? Is he really implying that we should go together?
He looked at your face and saw that your expression was mixed with both confusion and surprise. Your head was slightly tilted like a lost puppy, your mouth was slightly ajar, and your eyebrows were raised. He started questioning whether he said the right words. Did he come off as too adherent?
"You want us to go together?" He was caught off guard when you asked him. Not knowing the right words to say, he stammered. "I mean...if you want to...I'm not forcing you, it's just...I mean, we are going to the same place, so why don't we go together?"
His voice was hanging in the air. The only sounds that you two heard were the cluttering of utensils, other customers talking, and the background music that the restaurant provided. You noticed his eyes shaking trying to avoid your eyes. Then, you let out a giggle.
"Sure" You said.
His eyes finally met with yours the instant you said that word. "Oh God, I thought you would think I'm a creep" With his words you started to laugh. "You kind of are" You joked while telling him with a smile. Jay played along, letting out an exaggerated gasp while his right hand found his chest. "I feel offended"
You were still laughing at his silly expression when you continued talking "To be honest, you wanted to sit with me during the plane ride and now you decide to come up to me at the cathedral. I think that calls for a creep" He smiled at your smug expression as you talked. "I only did it because it was painful to watch. You kept frowning every five minutes" He fired back. Jay gave an equally smug look and now it was your turn to react. "Was it really painful to watch?" He started laughing, showing you his smile.
Soon your laughter started to die down. The air between the two of you was silent again, but in a comforting way.
Epiphany hits you after your discussion on how the both of you met. You never got to say thank you properly. When you turned around to say your gratitude, you went looking for him, only to see that he was gone. Not losing the opportunity again, you decided to tell him now.
"Thank you, by the way" He looked up at you when you said those words.
He was silent and didn't say anything so you decided to explain further. "For what you did on the plane. Switching seats, the tissue — as embarrassing as that was, the chewing gum. You didn't even know me but you decided to help. So....Thank you"
A smile slowly started to form across Jay’s face. He saw your shy demeanor as you said your gratitude towards him which made his heart flutter. "You're welcome," He replied.
"It's strange how we just met and you start treating me like a friend but you did it anyway. I mean, look at us, we don't even know each other's names and-" Your blabbering was cut off with his deep voice.
"Jongseong. Or Jay if you prefer." He replied. "That's my name"
“Y/N. Nice to meet you”
__
You were pretty satisfied that your day had ended with you putting a name to that stranger's face.
Jay.
Ever since you told each other your names, they pretty much rolled off the tongue. After dinner both of you really had nothing left to do except enjoy the Barcelona night sky. Jay talked to you throughout the evening. He told you how he got into art and why he loves it so much. From his story, you clearly tell that it was something he was passionate about. It basically ran through his entire body.
But just when I thought that nothing could beat his love for painting, Jay couldn't help himself as he told you about his friends back home. He even took the time to pull out a photo of them that he had on his wallet to show you. With the way he smiled while he told you all of his favorite memories of them together, it was clear that he really valued them.
Of course, you had to share stories as well. It would be really unfair on his part if he did all the talking.
So you told him how your major wasn't even your first choice. You've wanted to take up photography or film as your degree. But remembering how you felt like you had to repay your parents for everything that they had done, you decided to take up a pre-law course so you can follow in the footsteps of your father.
You had to admit that you didn't enjoy it at first but you grew to love it. The idea of switching majors still pops up once in a while but you've always told yourself that you could still do photography even with a PhD.
His words still rang in your head after you told him your story.
"You shouldn't do things to make other people proud. You have to make yourself proud"
Jay finally understood all those sad smiles everytime that topic was brought about. Sure, he felt sorry for her and wanted to tell her to switch if photography was what made her truly happy but he decided that he shouldn't. He wanted to respect your decision, knowing that he didn't have control over her life.
He walked you back to your hotel which was only a few blocks away from his. Before saying good night and "see you again", he promised to wait for you outside of your hotel tomorrow at 8:00 AM so the both of you could go to the Ciutadella Park and the Basilica together.
It was silly how quickly you had trusted this man to join you while you toured around the city but that was nearly impossible not to do with his charming personality.
Jay couldn't believe it himself that he was able to build a friendship (if that's what you called it) through this trip. It's usually just him traveling alone or traveling with friends but never with a woman he just found out the name of.
And so the night goes. Neither of them could sleep properly because of jetlag. You also had to remind yourself to update your parents because they might be going crazy at this point. Of course, you didn't tell them about Jay. They would flip. You thought that it'd be better if you kept this to the both of you.
__
The alarm that you've set the previous night rang to tell you that it was time to get ready for day 2 of your formerly called solo trip in Barcelona.
To say that you felt giddy to finally have to spend the whole entire day traveling the city was an understatement. You want to believe that it was because yesterday's flight tired you out that you haven't comprehended the thought that you are strolling the city but if you were trying to be honest enough, it was probably because your thoughts were filled with the art-loving and soft hearted boy that accompanied you.
Now, after getting ready to go out, you decided to go down to the hotel lobby as Jay said he will be meeting you there. Waiting for the elevator doors to open, you made sure that you looked presentable enough. When the ground floor came into your sight, you got out of the golden walled elevator and walked down to the lobby.
The place was huge and crowded. Dozens of people were walking around or seated on the sofas but within those numbers of people, your eyes still found him sitting on one of the sofas near, with his eyes on the floor.
Jay has been sitting on the same couch for the past 25 minutes, waiting for you to come down. He came early just in case you finished before him, not wanting you to wait too long. A few of the hotel staff have approached him already asking if he wanted anything. He didn't want to be paranoid but at one point he even thought that you ditched him and went ahead earlier. That was until he saw your figure walking towards him.
Jay was beautiful. You've noticed it from the first time you saw him. His eyes pulled you in and his boxy smile captivated you. It was like seeing a star up close. But just like him, you wouldn't admit it out loud.
When he first saw you, he didn't deny the fact that he thought that you were attractive. That obviously wasn't something he would say so suddenly but it was still something he would have to admit for himself. Today was just like yesterday. The same thoughts came running through his head when he saw you smile at him as you approached him.
He immediately stood up to greet you and to return the smile you gave him. "Ready for today?" He asked with a welcoming look. Returning the kindness, you answered him. "Of course!" You held out your camera and smiled.
"Well let's get going then"
_
It surprisingly just took the both of you a few minutes from your hotel room to your destination. Somehow, to the extent of your knowledge, the small map that Jay had prepared for his trip came in handy in time of traveling the city. With your broken Spanish, you thanked a few people that helped you get to where you are now — Ciutadella Park.
You were welcomed with a wide steel fence, wedged in between two statues. The inside was like a forest that housed itself with many trees and a peaceful ambiance. When the both of you finally got inside, you were more than pleased to see such beauty. The garden was gorgeous. It was surrounded by hundreds of plants, and the air was as fresh as it looked. The fountain at the center was enormous and breath-taking. Upon entering, you couldn't contain the excitement and started capturing everything you could see. From the flowerscape to the cascade, you knew that you would be able to fill your camera with so many pictures.
But pictures will only be pictures until you turn them into memories.
Jay suddenly asked you if you wanted to get your picture taken. Quickly hesitating, he kept on persisting, saying that it won't be forever that you would get to see this place, and not having your photo taken there could make you regret it in a few years.
"If you let me take your picture, I'd let you practice your portraits on me"
A tempting offer since that is what you told him that you wanted to do. Honestly, you just felt shy to stand in front of the camera with him taking the photo. Silently giving him a look that said "I kind of want to, but I'm not sure", he extended his hand which meant to give him your camera. After a few more seconds of deciding, you finally caved in. He instructed you to stand near the fountain and smile, in which you did.
Jay really had no excuse other than to build up conversation again. He didn't even intend to say that you would model for him but seeing there really isn't any other person there with her, he had no choice. Not that he complained, he saw a few of your photos, some through the camera he took from you, and some through what you showed him over dinner last night. He trusted what you could do — something an artist like him would know. He saw you stand in front of the scenery ready to smile for the camera.
He had to admit that you look just as gorgeous compared to the garden. You were breath-taking. After taking more than a dozen pictures, Jay handed you back your camera. While actually judging yourself through the screen, your companion took some pictures of his own. A few of the scenery, and some, of you.
You had to admit, he did make you look decent in the photo. He captured your smile without it looking too cheesy. There were a few candid shots here and there but you were pretty pleased with it. It made you glad that you agreed to Jay’s random request. You looked back up and saw him taking some photos on his own camera.
You approached with a smirk. "So how about that deal?", already knowing what you meant, he hid his camera and smiled at you.
The whole practice shoot with Jay took a lot of shots, laughing, whining, and begging. He was an amazing model, you were sure of it. If he didn't major in arts, you would most probably see him on a billboard or a magazine. His looks alone could get those companies big money. Jay was also a goof. He liked to play a lot. Like a cat. He has a habit of charming people. He doesn't do it intentionally, it just sort of comes naturally to him.
They just find him too irresistible. He isn't aware that he has such a contagious smile and laugh that even when he does the bare minimum, people laugh along with him. It didn't surprise you that despite not having many still shots where he wasn't laughing, Jay looked exceptionally good. To say that he was impressed with your skills was an understatement, he saw your passion so whatever you had put out, he knew that he would like it. I mean, art built from passion is always better than aesthetically pleasing art right?
The day passed by like lightning. After taking your photos of your companion, you both strolled around the park, even going to the lake to take a short boat ride.
Now, the both of you were on your way to the Picasso museum for Jay. It took both of you at least another several minutes of travel. He started to become giddy. He didn't show it but through the small time of knowing him, you knew that he was ready to see the exhibit.
When the two of you entered the museum, you could see that he was gleaming with excitement. The once talkative boy became quiet as he took his time to admire the art pieces. He carefully read each description and he would tell you his own analysis of each work.
"I'm sorry if I talk about this stuff too much" He started to apologize. Something he shouldn't do. No one should really apologize for something that makes them genuinely happy.
"You have nothing to be sorry about. I like hearing you talk about these things" You assured him. He looked from the painting on the wall to you. "You do?" You nodded in response. "Of course. It tells me something I never knew" Jay gave you a small and genuine smile. He really appreciated it when people listened to his explanations and stories. It makes him want to tell more.
"Well I hope you wouldn't mind if I asked you to go to one more right?"
"Today? I thought we were going to the night market?" You asked back. "We can always go tomorrow or the next day, I mean we have-"
"Jay" You cut him off. He hummed in response and looked at you. "Tomorrow is my last day. My flight leaves at 11PM" You quickly told him before he starts making plans for the future. You completely forgot to tell him that your stay here was limited and that you have to go back home immediately.
"So soon?" You nodded in response.
"I still have like a few days left, traveling wouldn't be fun without you" He said with a pout on his face. You couldn't help but awe at him. If only you could stay for a few more days but booking another plane ticket would cost you more and you didn't have money for that now.
"We could still go in the morning or the afternoon though, I wouldn't mind" You smiled at him. Unintentionally and unknowingly, you lightly grabbed his arm, something which startled him a bit, but in a good way. "Well then miss Y/N, let's make your last day memorable. I'm taking you to Madrid"
__
Tomorrow came back so soon. After yesterday, Jay said he would pick you up again for your last day tour around the city. Madrid wasn't really in your plan of things to do but he said to be spontaneous. He wanted you to make the most out of it. You want to see more of the country and its culture and what better way to do that than to hop from one city to another.
Just like yesterday, Jay arrived at your hotel lobby before you. He sat again in the same seat with the same look. Madrid was at least a two hour trip so the both of you quickly headed out, not wanting to waste time.
"So how long is your stay here?" You asked him while taking the long bus ride. "A week. My flight leaves on Saturday" he said. Just like you, Jay didn't plan to go to Madrid. He was supposed to go later into his trip but some things have changed and he just decided to just go ahead with it.
He didn't really understand why he would go all the way and mix up all his plans and tire himself out for this girl he just met, but he was glad that he did. He loved your company, and to think that he would then have to spend the rest of his trip without someone he could tell jokes and stories with didn't seem as exciting as he first hopped on the plane to Barcelona.
"You've said that this wasn't your first trip right?" You began to ask him to start a conversation. He hummed and nodded in response. "Out of all of them? What was your favorite?" He gave it short thought, slightly tilting his head to think of an answer. "I'm not sure. They were all special"
"Come on you have to have one favorite"
"Not really, they're all different in their own way I guess, so I can't really choose"
"Alright, I’ll let you sit that one out"
Jay began a new conversation. "My turn. Tell me something about you."
"Well...I like watching dramas," You said in an obvious tone. "Except that. I knew that already. Tell me something I don't know " He was sitting beside you. You had the window seat and he had the altar. He was staring down at you while you took your time to think of something while looking out the window.
"I've never had a relationship" You answered him. He gave you a questionable smirk but replied quickly. "I won't judge. Why, though? Too busy with school?"
You shook your head to say no. "It's not that. I just haven't really gotten the timing of it" You saw that he was confused, he tilted his head slightly to show it.
"I was never one for a relationship. They come around but they don't stay for a while before something even happens. I don't know. I just start pushing them away because of this irrational fear I have of commitment."
"So you're afraid?"
"You could call it that"
It was silent for a while. You thought that you had brought the mood down until he started talking again. "I used to be afraid." You looked up at him as he began his story.
"Before I had my first partner, I wouldn't know how to act around everyone if I was in a relationship and that scared me. When I got into my first relationship, I immediately thought, 'what was I so afraid of?'. Everything just felt so nice that I never even realized that I was afraid in the first place"
"Then what happened?" Curiously you asked.
"We had our differences. I found out that they have been seeing my roommate behind my back. Got to my dorm to fetch something and I got the biggest shock of my life"
"If you're saying this so I won't be scared anymore then you're not helping"
"I'm saying this, to tell you that being afraid is totally understandable. But you gotta let go of your fear sometimes and just go with it. It could be some of the best years of your life. If worse comes to show then better people will come along the way. Yeah it sucked that I got cheated on, but I realized that I probably saved myself from that one and gave myself a chance to meet someone else. You just have to let fate bring the both of you together"
___
Time flew by too quickly, much to your dismay. Madrid was lovely. You got the chance to stroll around Retiro Park and Royal Palace and you had to thank Jay a couple of times to thank him for making you come.
Sadly, time really wasn't your best friend as it was time to go back to Barcelona to pack your bags so you could go to the airport and get back home. Jay was the sweetest, you told him that he didn't have to take you to the airport but he insisted despite it taking the both of you another two hours to get to your hotel room.
He decided to wait outside your hotel room while you finished gathering your things out of respect for your personal space. When you were done, he didn't hesitate to grab your luggage to help you.
It was 9PM and you had two hours to spare before your flight leaves. The taxi ride was quiet as Jay sat sat next to you. There was a small space in the middle and no one dared say a word. It wasn't an awkward silence though, more of a comforting but sad silence. It was deafening even when they had the radio turned on.
Deciding to break the unfathomable silence, you decided to speak.
"Thank you. Again. I know I've said it already but it wouldn't be enough after everything you've done"
"Don't worry. Anyone else would've done the same"
They wouldn't.
"And thank you too," He said. His eyes saw that your hand was lying on your lap.
After hesitating he softly gave them a squeeze. It surprised you but it didn't freak you out. You were even glad that he did that.
"This whole trip wouldn't be the same now that you're going to go" He said with a point. His left hand was softly playing with the fingers on your right hand. You gave him a sad smile.
"We could do it again soon" you replied quietly, not making eye contact, implying that you would like to see him again once you both got home.
"Are you asking me out once I get back home?" He said with an evident smug on his face. "I mean....that isn't what I meant, but if you wanted to" you replied back."I just wish I had your contact number so we could arrange something " His weak attempt of asking for your number made you laugh but it worked nonetheless. Soon you found yourself typing in your phone number on his cell.
Finally arriving at the airport, he took a hold of your luggage for you.
You honestly didn't want to do it. For just 3 days, his presence became a constant reminder to you that you wished to have him by your side when you got inside the plane..
He made you feel less scared.
"I guess you have to go, your plane is waiting for you" He gave your hand one final squeeze before handing you your luggage and letting your hand go. Your fingers felt cold and you'd want to grab a hold of him again but you thought that you shouldn't. You thought that it would be too much. "Yeah. Who's going to switch seats with the old guy beside me now?" You lightly joke.
You probably should walk away now but you weren't. You were still there standing in front of him. "It was nice to meet you Jay, you made this trip extra special" You smiled at him. Without saying anything back, he just nodded. It was your chance to turn around, walk away from him, and to leave Barcelona.
But you guess he had other ideas. To your surprise, you felt a hand grasp your wrist. It was a firm hold but not tight enough for it to hurt. It was firm enough to tell you to not go just yet.
"I've never said it before when you asked but this one was my favorite trip out of all of them."
Jay was bold when he grabbed her closer to him. You felt his lips meet your cheek. It was sudden and out of the blue and it left you frozen for a few seconds. As he slowly stepped back, you turned your head and connected your lips with his. It took a few seconds to realize what was happening but soon he slowly traveled his hand from her wrist to the tips of your face. His hand was resting on your jaw while every square inch of your body dissolved into his. You suddenly felt a sensation you never knew you were feeling. Jay’s soft hold on you made you cling on to him and made you want him closer than he already was. It wasn't intense, but it wasn't just a goodbye either. It was desperate but soft. It was quick but enough.
The both of you had to let go to catch your breath. With a sad look you had to let go. "I'll see you when you get home."
___
Your mom had bombarded you with dozens of questions after she picked you up from the airport.
She wanted to know everything, the plane ride, she wanted to know how food tastes, if I talked to any Spanish men while I was there, or if I made a friend. You were too tired and too out of focus to even answer her.
Jay was still on your mind and you couldn't find the right time to tell her that you did meet someone while you were there and that you both shared a moment before leaving. You wondered how he was doing, or where he was right now, but you couldn't ask him. Your idiocy forgot to tell you to get his phone number so you had to resort into waiting for him to get him which would still be in a few more days.
When you were transferring your photos from your camera to your laptop, your mom immediately wanted to check them out. Just when you thought you've hidden all your photos you had of your companion in a separate folder. One picture was left unknown to you.
“He’s cute” As your mom, she quickly asked who the stranger was. As if you could've hid it for that long you decided to tell her. Not that she was mad that you had spent your whole trip traveling with a man you just met surprised her but the fact that your stories made it seem like you've known him for so long. “Uhm…I met him on the plane. He happened to be traveling alone too so we just…decided to keep each other company.”
Suddenly, you remembered everything he made you feel. For 3 days, he made you feel like you could trust him. He gave you so many encouraging words and charming lines which immediately attracted you to his loving personality. For 3 days, Jay made you feel like the world. He gave you something you could never forget.
But why does it feel like it doesn't go the same for him?
Now, it's been weeks since your Barcelona trip and you haven't received one text or phone call from him. You had to triple check whether your cell was still on airplane mode and it wasn't. You started overthinking whether you gave him the wrong number or not and he would think that you didn't want to talk to him anymore. Worse, you started overthinking whether he really wanted to see you again.
You've thought of every possible scenario from him accidentally deleting your number or him getting his phone stolen, but none had soothed your thoughts.
Maybe you were thinking too irrationally and you were getting attached too quickly that you feel disappointed that he has not contacted you yet. It was only 3 days right? You shouldn't be so bummed about him not reaching out after weeks? But why were you? Why are you over thinking about him? Was that kiss just a spur of the moment? Were you just a matter of convenience and spontaneity?
Time flew by, much to your dismay.
A new semester has started and you haven't heard from Jay after your vacation. You've slowly started to let it go thinking that it wouldn't make a difference if you mopped around.
To say that you didn't want to go back was an understatement but you had no other choice. You were early by 5 minutes for your first class, much to your surprise. Your friends Karina and Wonyoung, were already there sitting together. They even saved you a seat as they gestured for you to come over.
"Do any of you want to go with me to the Art departments exhibit tonight? I gotta go support Sunghoon but I don't want to go alone, he'd be too busy with the gallery" Wonyoung asked as you sat down. "Isn't he a sports major?" Karina asked back.
"Yes but he had to take extra units in Art. Do you want to come?"
"Sorry Won, I promised my mom and dad to dinner later"
"Y/N?"
"Yeah sure, I guess it'd be fun"
To be honest, you've never appreciated art as much as you did before Barcelona. Jay changed your mind on it. And now every painting you see, you couldn't stop thinking about him.
By 6 in the evening you found yourself standing with Wonyoung inside the Art departments gallery. You've never realized that the students from your university were crazy talented. The paintings and sculptures were made with fine hands. All of them had their own color and technique.
When Wonyoung said that Sunghoon would be too busy with the gallery to pay attention to her, you believed her.
You shouldn't have.
Her and her boyfriend were now having the time of their lives while you were left around to wonder and see the art. The place was huge and was packed with people but you managed to weave yourself to the last part of the exhibit.
You took your time reading each description and looking at the different strokes on each painting when you've come across one painting in particular.
It was a girl that had her back facing the canvas. She was surrounded by a familiar scene. The towering buildings made the girl look small, the sun shone in the oil canvas, and the trees seemed like they were swaying even if they were made to look still. The gothic painting was a place she knew well.
Barcelona.
It's been months since her last visit but the moments you have spent there were still clear. Of course, it would be. Everything was too memorable to forget — everything and someone. Memories of the charismatic but playful man played in your head and you couldn't help but feel a little nostalgic and regretful. You've thought that after your trip to the historic and romantic city in Europe, you'd finally met someone you were willing to have a romance with. But, maybe you spoke too soon, and too ambitious even.
By this time, it would have been best if you forgot everything and just moved on. I mean, you've only known the man for less than a week, how is it so possible that he could have this much of an impact on you? You've grown too attached to him and it didn't help that he wasn't there to actually have someone attached to. Maybe it was time to finally come to terms with your expectations of you and Jay. Maybe you shouldn't be so down that he didn't text you and just be glad that you met him; even if it was only temporary.
Detaching your gaze from the painting, you've led yourself outside to gather some fresh air. You'd hate to leave Wonyoung but she seems preoccupied as you texted her that you'd be heading out and she replied that she had Sunghoon with her. After pushing away the glass doors of the gallery, you were quickly met with a gust of wind blowing in your face. It was quiet and lonely unlike inside where it was jam-packed with people. You were just slowly getting used to the serene atmosphere when you heard the gallery doors behind you open once again.
As you looked to check who it was, you started to feel that the amount of wind blowing in your face was useless. Your breath was stuck on your throat. The man who exited the halls had your mouth left hanging. You want to think you were hallucinating but you've been blinking enough to know that this was real.
Park Jongseong.
Just like you, he stood completely still; he was huffing his chest, probably catching his breath from a quick run outside. Jay saw you from the gallery balcony looking at the oil canvas that he presented for his midterms. He didn't want to believe it at first but after a few seconds, he was sure. It was you. The girl he grew fond of after his trip last summer.
"Y/N...."
You didn't know how to act. You didn't know what to say. What were you supposed to do? Run up to him? Give him a hug? Tell him you missed him? Or were you supposed to walk away? Show him how embarrassed you felt after being left hanging?
All of these questions were running through your head but one thing was clear in Jay’s head.
He had to explain.
"I didn't expect to see you here" Jaycontinued to say as he slowly walked over to the girl. His voice was hushed and gentle, but it was still enough to have your heart racing. "Same here" You managed to reply.
He was finally standing in front of you. The distance felt awkward yet so familiar. "I-uh...." Jay began to stutter. "Uhm... What are you doing here?"
"A friend asked me to come with her" He nodded in reply. "Where is she?"
"With her boyfriend"
"So you're all alone now?"
"Wouldn't be the first time"
You saw his mouth shut tight.
It was quiet. No one spoke. You've gotten used to silence whenever you were with Jay during your time in Barcelona, but somehow this felt different. It wasn't a comfortable silence; it felt like someone wanted to fill the void with words.
"I'm sorry" You heard him say. You never prepared yourself to have this talk; nonetheless right at this moment. "I had no other excuse for not calling you other than I was afraid"
"Jay..."
"I ignored you when you must have waited for my text and I will forever regret being so scared to do it because I wasn't sure whether whatever happened between us was real or just a spur in the moment of loneliness"
You tried to avoid his deep gaze but they reeled you no matter what. "But after weeks, the feelings were still there and I didn't know how I was going to explain how it took so long to call you so I just left it at that..."
"And when I saw you, It's like someone inside of me told me that maybe leaving it all in Barcelona wasn't our last chance. That maybe, just maybe, I could make this right; stop being so afraid of what I feel."
"Where are you going with this Jay?"
He stepped closer.
"I made a mistake. I didn't call because I was afraid and thinking that all of it was just because I felt lonely. But I don't want to be that Jay anymore. I don’t want to be a hypocrite. I want to be the Jay that would be there for you, even outside of Barcelona. I don't know if our meeting was just a coincidence or a twist of fate, but I'll take them any day because I had the greatest opportunity of meeting you again."
And it was like, at that moment, you forgot all the words and have lost the ability to speak because right after he said that you couldn't help but stare at him.
"That is...if you want to of course...I don't want to force you or-"
"Jay.."
He stopped talking and looked at you.
“What you did really hurt me, you know that right?” You started off. “I know. And I don’t want to make any excuses. I would do anything for your forgiveness.”
You took a deep breath.
“Everything is just so sudden. One minute you disappear from the face of the earth and now you’re in front of me, asking me for a chance…Do you know how insane this sounds?”
He gulped and looked down on his feet.
“But I would be a fool to let you get away another time.”
“So what you’re saying is-”
“Coincidence. Fate. Whatever it is, I wouldn’t be so afraid to try things with you.”

ㅤHe shot you a glare as you stood there in your tiny cheerleading uniform, the glare was enough to make you follow him back to the boy's locker room.
ㅤOnce you got into the locker room, he grabbed your wrist. Pinning you to the lockers, his lips close to your ear. He was angry since he lost, no.

THE FIRST TIME I'VE EVER SEEN LOVE AND THE LAST I'LL EVER NEED
pairing: jungwon x gn!reader genre: fluff word count: 409
notes: reader wears lipstick, inspo from that one tiktok trend lol, happy birthday wonie <3
you can feel the heat of jungwon’s blush against your fingertips as you cradle his face in your hands; the colour of your lipstick nearly blends into his flushed skin. “hold still,” you murmur, resisting the urge to laugh once again as jungwon continues to squirm.
“i’m sorry,” he chuckles. his eyes shine as he smiles brightly, settling beside you once again. “it tickles.”
you turn to glance in the mirror across from you, using the opportunity to reapply the colour to your lips. little smudges against the corners of your mouth match the lipstick marks decorating jungwon’s face and neck.
“this was your idea, you know,” you tease. jungwon’s smile grows when you wrap your arms around his shoulders, pressing yet another fleeting kiss to his cheek, just beneath his eye.
his laughter lingers in the room as you reach over to grab your phone, quickly opening your camera and propping it up against a nearby cup. jungwon shuffles across the couch next to you, gingerly wrapping his arms around your waist and propping his head against your shoulder.
you startle slightly when he leans in, pressing a chaste kiss against your neck. he moves so quickly you almost miss it entirely, had the evidence not been there in the form of a small smirk tugging at the corners of jungwon’s lips and a blush that threatens to crawl up to his ears.
“are you ready?” he murmurs, relishing in the way your embarrassment mirrors his own.
turning to face jungwon once again, you can’t help but study his features. the universe seems to spread impossibly throughout his dark eyes. without the thick layer of makeup that usually coats his skin, you can see all of the “imperfections” that make him human. a hint of your lipstick mixes into the natural pink of his lips; the colour making them somehow even more inviting.
a few more moments pass before you hum softly. “you’re missing something.”
all of jungwon’s questions die on his tongue when you lean in. the soft gasp that catches in his throat makes you smirk against his skin. the stain the kiss leaves is deeper than the others; a faint mark of your lips against his skin now lingers. “there,” you murmur, nonchalantly turning back to readjust your phone’s camera angle. “now we’re ready.”
jungwon chuckles beneath his breath, leaning in to pull you into one final chaste kiss. “let’s make one of you next.”

birthday boy.
pairing : non idol!jungwon + fem!reader . genre : fluff + suggestive . cw : kissing . wc : 2.9 k not proofread
— synopsis : celebrating his birthday with the people he loves the most ! with a tiny twist ...
— note : HAPPY WONI DAY!!! my brightest star ⭐🤲🏻 i love him so much pls he is everything to me ˙◠˙ hope he has an amazing day today and hope you guys like this one shot <3
He was having the most awful day ever. Even though it was his birthday he had to spend the whole day at the company alone and, on top of that, you and his members haven't talked to him for the whole day.
He wasn't really upset about his group mates but he felt pretty sad when he realized that you didn't texted him.
He didn't want nothing more than to come back home and spend some time for himself, being able to enjoy his 20 birthday and rest after such a tiring and kind of sad day was all he needed.
He finished all his duties at the company and finally it was time to go back home. Tiredness taking over his body as soon as he step on the van, almost falling asleep as soon as he sat on his seat.
Once he finally reached the entrance of his (and your) apartment he let out the biggest sigh, he needs to take a shower and lay on his bed as soon as possible.
But as he inserted his key to open the door he heard someone whispering inside os his apartment. He was confused, all the members where at their respective houses and you probably were sleeping. Or that's what he thought.
Finally opening the door completely he was shock when he made eye contact with the seven of you, his bearest best friends and his pretty girlfriend standing in front of him with balloons and a cake on your hands.
— 'HAPPY BIRTHDAY BIG BOY' shouted jake as jungwon dropped his belongings on the entrance and take off his shoes. Heeseung took the cake out of your hands as he watches Jungwon running towards you with his arms open.
You giggled as he hugged you, hiding his face on your neck leaving small soft kisses there.
— 'The surprise was also our idea you know?' said Sunghoon with a smirk on his face. All of you burst out laughing, Jungwon removed himself from your embrace pecking your lips before turning to his friends, giving them a big hug.
All of you moved to your living room to get the party started. After blowing the candles you gave him your present, he loves matching things with you so you gave him a pair of rings; one was a sun and the other one was a moon. He looked at you with the biggest smile on his face and, taking your hand, he place the sun one on your finger kissing your hand right after.
The hours kept passing and, after opening all the presents and having dinner together you guys decided to call it a night and the boys went back home.
As soon as you close the door you felt a pair of arms sneaking around you waist, hugging you from behind. — 'Thank you so much for this baby, i was having the worst day ever but its was completely worth it' Jungwon whispered in your ear.
You turned around now facing him, placing you hands around his neck you gave him a kiss. — 'Sorry for ignoring you Wonie, i was really busy preparing all of this that i didn't have time to text you' you said. He place one of his hand on your neck, pulling your face closer to his.
— 'You still have time to repay me for that ' the tone of his voice dropped a few times and now there was a smirk adorning his pretty lips.
You smiled, knowing perfectly what he meant with that. As much as you loved the boys you couldn't wait for them to be gone so you would be able to spend some time with your boyfriend. — 'Now that you mentioned it i actually have another present for you' you kissed him, this time the kiss was much intense that the other ones you shared, hearing him breathing through his nose and melting in your arms as soon as your lips touched his.
Your hands that once were around his neck were now grabbing the strings of his grey hoodie. You separate yourself from him and, pulling him by his collar, you started walking towards your shared bedroom.
Let's say he had the best birthday of his life.

The sound of your alarm clock jolted you awake, its incessant crying reminding you that you had a long day of work ahead of you. For a moment, you made no move to get up, squeezing your eyes tightly as you rubbed your face into your pillow, savoring the warmth tucked under your blanket. It was New Year’s Eve—which meant children throwing tantrums or adults throwing tantrums like children—and you were so tempted to call out, your TSA uniform glaring at you from where you threw it last night.
With a groan, you reached out to silence the alarm, blindly slapping your nightstand until you felt your phone. You glanced at your phone, momentarily blinded by its brightness, and checked the time. 4:31 AM. God, it was early.
You gave yourself a good stretch, enjoying the momentary high from the blood rushing to your brain, before throwing yourself out of bed. You shuffled toward the bathroom, the cold tiles waking you up a bit more. When you flicked the light on, tired was all you could see on your face. The three years with the TSA really wore on you—dull skin, dark circles, no smile lines.
Oh, how you were itching to text your supervisor that you were sick. You should be sleeping in, prepping yourself for parties and, maybe, a New Year’s kiss. But life had a way of going the absolute opposite direction of what you wanted.
Straight out of college, unlike your friends who got return offers from their internships, you were eagerly awaiting to hear back from the FBI. Becoming a profiler had always been the plan, no matter how unrealistically it began. (You may have had the world’s biggest crush on Spencer Reid. But who didn’t?) You majored in criminal psychology just to prep yourself for your career. You were hopeful; all your professors said you were more than inclined to your chosen career path—you were born to be a profiler.
So, when the rejection email reached your inbox, the world was spinning. It sounded like the birds were laughing at you. Oh, you wanted to be an FBI agent? Oopsies, dream harder next time.
Your rejection left you to spiral until your friend, Jake, suggested you both work for the TSA at LAX. It wasn’t the best alternative to your dream job, but it was as close as you were gonna get.
Now, here you are sitting on the employee commuter bus, bumping shoulders with familiar people that you’ve seen on the very same bus for the past three years. The silence used to be eerie, going from rambunctious college students talking every chance they got to coworkers who were trying to squeeze a little extra shut-eye before their long days started.
When the bus rolled to a stop, you gave the driver a nod of gratitude and trudged your way through the backrooms. Everyone you passed by gave you a wave, which you returned, still too tired to manage any words. You walked into the TSA locker rooms and shoved your bag in, moving quick to make the meeting.
You slipped inside and took a seat toward the back. You felt a slap on your back. Wincing in shock, you turned to see Jake beaming at you.
“Hey, grumpy,” Jake said, bumping your shoulder with his as he sat by you. “You should be happier. The year’s almost over!”
You rolled your eyes. “As if 2025 is going to be any better than 2024. We’re gonna be sitting here with the same jobs, same pay, same life.”
“That’s by choice,” a new voice chimed. You glanced over to your right and saw Jay settle down next to you. “I got here a little later than both of you and I’ve had two promotions. I’d say you’re the one who wants to keep the same job.”
Jake shrugged. “It pays the bills just fine, and I’m looking to avoid any responsibilities for as long as I can.”
A chuckle left Jay as he sipped his coffee. “And you, Y/N? You really content where you’re at?”
You pursed your lips. Of course, you weren’t. But life never goes your way, so why bother trying to change that? Before you could respond, your supervisor began the day-shift meeting.
“Good morning, day shift TSOs. Good morning being more of a wishful thought ‘cause today is going to be another rough day for everyone. You sad, sad souls are spending your New Year’s Eve with me and about 200,000 eager—and, I mean, eager—travelers. As usual, these very anxious passengers will probably take their shitty emotions out on you. So, what do we say to that?”
“Enjoy your holidays,” everyone droned.
Your supervisor nodded with satisfaction. “Exactly. We’re not taking their bait, and we’re going to make sure everyone flies happy and safely. Capisce? All right, dismissed. Stay alert. Stay vigilant. And we’ll all make it out of here okay.”
The rest of your coworkers returned to their lockers, strapping up for their shifts. Jay and Jake followed you into the break room as you poured yourself a cup of coffee.
“Look, if you guys do want a change in 2025, I’ll go to bat for you. It should be no problem, considering you’ve both worked here for 3 years,” Jay offered.
Jake grinned and patted him on the shoulder. “I’ll remember that for when I decide to become a full-fledged adult.”
Snickering at Jake’s reluctance to grow up, you sipped your coffee, almost groaning at the nice caffeine boost the liquid was promising.
“What about you, Y/N? Wanna switch up your 2025?” Jay asked curiously.
A change did seem appealing to you. However, you somehow doubted the promotion would go through. Life seemed to like playing with your emotions.
“I doubt Owens is gonna promote me,” you said pointedly. “I’m pretty sure he hates me ever since the Christmas party two years ago.”
Jay rounded to face you directly, placing his hands on your shoulders. “You trust me, right?”
You paused, acting as if it were a difficult question, before caving at Jay’s falling face. “Of course I do.”
He smiled. “Then, come with me to my meeting with Owens. Officer Smith is also going to be a part of it, and you know how he loves you.”
With two people backing you, surely life couldn’t mess this up. You nodded slowly, making Jake whoop and Jay shake you in excitement. “2025 is your year, Y/N. I can feel it.”
“Yeah, yeah, when’s the meeting?” A smile threatened to break your calm facade at the building hope of rebelling against fate. Jay checked his watch and looked at you. “Now, apparently.”
He turned you around and guided you to your supervisor’s office. “You got this, Y/N!” Jake hollered behind you.
Gosh, why were you so nervous? You’d never brought up a promotion before. But, it was like Jay said, right? Three years with no write-ups or negative reviews. No way he rejects it.
“Nope.”
Your jaw went slack, and any shrivel of hope that you had died. Jay looked just as shocked. Hell, even Officer Smith looked shocked.
“But, sir, Y/N’s an amazing TSO and has been with the TSA for three years with no complaints,” Jay sputtered.
Owens sighed. “Ask me on a different day. We’re expecting heavy foot traffic and I want leads on the scanners. I can’t afford any mishaps today.”
You didn’t know what it was. Was it anger at his easy dismissal? Was it frustration from the endless obstacles in your life? Whatever it was, it made you speak up. “With all due respect, sir, I’m more than capable of working the scanner. I ranked first in threat assessment, and I can spot a fake better than the officers.” Officer Smith seemed like he wanted to be offended but decided that it was true, nodding with you.
“I’m willing to prove it too. I’ll even put my job on the line. One mistake, you can fire me,” you huffed, shoulders rolled back.
Your supervisor peered down his nose at you, heavily contemplating. “The leads are on the scanners today. We don’t have the manpower to open another lane for you.”
“Give her my spot,” Jay interjected. He looked at the drawing board before shifting around the names. “That’ll free up a lead to work between D and E, keep us from bottlenecking.”
You sent a look of gratitude Jay’s way, then looked at Owens. It felt like days before he answered. “Alright, let’s see what you got.”
Suppressing your excitement, you gave him a stout nod. “Won’t let you down.”
When Owens dismissed the three of you, Jay threw his arm around your shoulder. “Looks like your 2025 is setting up to be a great year.”
You laughed, grabbing his hand that was hanging off your shoulder. “It’s thanks to you,” you said warmly.
He shook his head and ruffled your hair. “That was all you.”
You two returned to Jake with the good news, who yelled with joy, getting a couple of startled looks from your coworkers. Jay waved them off apologetically and slapped Jake upside the head, scolding him for being so loud. Man, did it feel good to finally have something go your way.
The signal to head to your stations rang, pushing the three of you to move out. As you moved past all the barrier dividers, Jake and Jay filed to their sections, wishing you luck.
You approached the scanners with a little pride in yourself. You nodded at your coworker and sat, logging on. You flipped the switch, and just like that, your trial promotion began.
Passengers loaded up their belongings in bins and let the belt carry them through the machine, allowing you to check for any discrepancies. After a couple of minutes, you felt more comfortable, settling deeper into your seat.
“Excuse me!”
You leaned away from the monitors to see a cute man smiling at you. God, was he all sunshine and rainbows for someone flying early.
“This isn’t mine,” he said, wiggling one of the smaller bins. You stopped the machine and approached him, taking the bin to see a curious earpiece. You glanced from the earpiece to the man. What the hell did he want you to do with this?
“Um, I’ll put this in the lost and found,” you said awkwardly. He just grinned at you before walking off. But as he walked away, your phone chimed.
Right ear. Do it now. Discreetly.
You gingerly inserted the ear comm into your right ear, static crackling until a voice spoke.
“Hello, Y/N. Listen very carefully. I need your help.”
Your lips quirked before you glanced around, trying to find your coworker. “Nice accent, Jake. I hope your mixtape is better than your prank or I’m getting rid of your special Australian coffee.”
“Jake is in lane one, auditioning for Korea’s Got Talent.” You turned and saw Jake dancing on top of a cart. “Looks like he might have a shot.”
Your eyes darted around to the other lanes and came up short. You couldn’t find the source of the voice.
He spoke again. “Just relax, Y/N. I need you to keep the line moving, so let’s head back to your seat, okay?”
You made eye contact with your supervisor, who peered at you suspiciously. Oh, crap. Quickly, you returned to the scanner and resumed the line. As the conveyor belt whirled to life, you shifted in your seat nervously.
“My name’s Special Agent Jungwon with the FBI. Be very careful with your reactions. Soon, there will be a man with some dangerous luggage moving through your line with a boarding pass for Korean Air 958 non-stop to Seoul. I need you to let him through,” Jungwon said.
You scoffed lightly. “That’s a joke, right? Why would an FBI agent want me to let a threat through?” You fidgeted with the scanner, manipulating the image of luggage on your screen to inspect the contents. Your attention flicked between the screen and beyond it, sorting through people strolling through the airport. Where could he be?
“It’s not a joke. I’m technically undercover as a mercenary that gets the job done, and the man I’m going to arrest is my client. I’m at the bar in Chili’s, by the way. I want you to see my air quotes.”
You zeroed in on the chain restaurant and saw the lone blond man in a black leather jacket. You could only see his broad back as he did air quotes with his left hand. Then, he continued to eat something. Fries?
“The man carrying the luggage isn’t the target. We believe he’s being threatened by the individual we’re trying to catch to be his pack mule. The man we’re trying to catch has already made it through TSA.”
He’s already in? Your heart began to race as you returned your attention to your job. “What’s in the bag?”
He hummed contemplatively. “That’s more of a need-to-know. The less you know, the easier it’ll be for you to act normal when the carry-on passes through.”
As the bins of items passed by your screen, you pressed your lips flat. “I think I have a pretty good poker face.”
“Very true. I bet you’re a nightmare to play poker with,” he jabbed playfully. “Okay, I’ll tell you. It’s a weapon.”
You huffed in disbelief. “No shit, Sherlock. We wouldn’t be playing telephone otherwise. What’s the weapon?”
You could hear him chuckle before he resumed munching on his fries. “Feisty. I can see why the FBI really didn’t want to let you go.”
You paused. How does he know about that?
“It’s a nerve agent—atrocious biochemical weapon, really—attached to a bomb. Or, at least, that’s what we’re guessing,” he replied. “According to the chatter, they’re planning to make a big boom in the sky. I guess they wanted bigger fireworks.”
You froze, tension blanketing every muscle fiber. “A bomb?”
“Don’t forget the nerve agent,” he tutted, chewing through his food. Those damn fries were starting to get on your nerves. If you wanted a mukbang ASMR while you worked, you would’ve chosen Tzuyang’s videos.
You got up to push the backed-up bins down the line. Your thoughts raced. A fucking bomb in the Los Angeles airport? You knew you should’ve called off today.
You could almost feel the cold glass of liquid going down your own throat as Jungwon took a gulp before speaking again. “What a way to spend New Year’s Eve, am I right? All these people rushing home to see their families, and you get to play agent like you’ve always wanted. Guess Santa came late this year.”
Your ears twitched. Again, how does he know about that? “You seem to know a lot about me, Special Agent.”
“Well, it’s not hard to look up a government worker. Pretty mild three years for you, huh? What—you applied, got rejected, and realized being a Level One TSA agent was your dream?” Jungwon prodded.
Your boots clacked heavily against the floor as you sat behind the monitor once again. You couldn’t help but glance at Jungwon, curious about what this irritating man’s face looked like.
“Just seemed like there was no point,” you murmured, analyzing the contents of the bags on screen. “If my aptitude tests didn’t get me in the first time, what would?”
Jungwon tsked, wiping the salt off his fingers. “Your aptitude tests. They were good—no, beyond good. You were a top scorer in almost every category except physical. No, I understand you. If near-perfect scores didn’t push you through, nothing could. If it helps you any, they had a real hard time choosing. I have the notes right in front of me.”
You paused. If they had such a hard time, why didn’t they just accept your application? You were bitter, of course. It was your dream, and they just rejected you—no explanation. Their email didn’t even have the corny “we wish you the best in your endeavors.” It seemed like they didn’t care if you applied again or not.
“Yeah? What does it say?” you asked, reserved.
“That you would be a damn good agent. I mean, wow. Did you really decipher the code in four minutes?” Jungwon whistled, impressed with what he was reading. “You set a record.”
You wanted to scoff. Set a record, and they let you go. That doesn’t really give you much hope. “Let’s get back to the real reason why we’re even talking.”
“Okay, still a bit of a sore spot for you. Noted. From what we’ve gathered, they’re exchanging hands right before they get on the flight. Apparently, the bomb has a failsafe code that only the man of the hour knows. He puts it in, and the bomb’s live.”
“That’s stupid. Is he trying to make himself a martyr?”
“Why, yes. Yes, he is. You’re quick. I think I’m going to like working with you, Agent Y/N,” Jungwon smiled, looking down at his half-eaten plate.
“Not an agent,” you bit back. They wouldn’t let you become one, you wanted to say. You let it rest on your tongue instead.
“If we catch the guy with no casualties, I’ll give you a stellar recommendation,” Jungwon chirped. “Now, look alive. I think our guy’s approaching.”
Your head whipped to see a tall man with headphones draped around his neck. If you didn’t know any better, you’d think he was another traveler just rushing to get to his gate. His shifty eyes told you otherwise.
“So, I just let him through?” you muttered, watching him place the carry-on on the belt.
Jungwon hummed. “Yes, ma’am. If you do anything but that, the man we’re closing in on will bolt.”
Pause. You felt stupid. Who’s to say Jungwon is who he says he is? What if he’s the terrorist? He could’ve gotten your application documents by hacking the system. You glanced at your coworker, who was focused on his own monitor, and then at Jungwon. Fuck. Where’d he go?
“Hey, hey. Calm down. I’m just making my way to your supervisor to give him a heads up,” Jungwon reassured. Your eyes trailed over to Owens, who was indeed talking to a blond man in a leather jacket.
When your supervisor looked over at you, you ducked your head and returned your focus back to the scanner.
Lo and behold. The carry-on was present on your screen. You leaned closer to stare at the mechanics. From what you could tell, the detonator was small, but it was linked to a block covered in small vials. C4 and the nerve agent was your guess. You let it pass your screen despite the glaring messages advising you to inspect the luggage.
You kept watching the suitcase until its owner picked it up just as carefully as he had placed it. He made eye contact with you. His eyes widened slightly before he looked away, a shaky hand extending the handle to drag it away. You were torn. On one hand, if you prevent this bomb from even getting near a plane, you could end this here. But, on the other hand, if what Jungwon said was true, you could be jeopardizing the lives of more people by letting a dangerous man go.
You stopped the machine and went to the end of the belt, acting like you were tidying the bins. In one of the bins this man used, something caught your eye, so you called after him. “Sir!”
“Y/N, what are you doing?” Jungwon asked warily through the earpiece.
“I’m supposed to just trust that you’re a real FBI agent? You could have a hacker feeding you all my information. Like you said, it’s not hard to look up a government employee,” you mumbled, looking at the pack mule through your brows.
“A little late to be speculating, Y/N.” You could hear Jungwon’s anxious chuckle through the earpiece. “I promise that I’m not the bad guy. Just take a leap of faith. You’ll get your proof in a second.”
A leap of faith? He’s asking you to put the lives of all these passengers on a gut instinct? You watched the man with the suitcase slowly walk over to you. You only had a split second to decide. Why did you want to trust this man? Your gut was gnawing at you, begging you to trust this mysterious individual in your ear.
You reached into the bin and pulled out the boarding pass he left behind. “Your boarding pass, Mr…” You glanced at the pass, trying to absorb the information. “Nishimura.”
The man let out what you assumed to be a sigh of relief. He offered you an awkward bow before taking the boarding pass in your hand and hurrying away.
“Y/N.” You swiveled around to see Owens looking at you disappointedly. “You’re out.”
Your eyebrows furrowed as you tilted your head. “I’m sorry. I don’t know what you—”
“You’re off the job.”
Your eyes felt like they were about to roll out of their sockets with how wide they grew. “What do you mean I’m off the job? I haven’t even made a mistake.”
Owens motioned Jay over, who looked confused as he jogged to you. Jay slid through the barriers and pulled up beside Owens. “Jay, you’re back on the scanner today.”
“I don’t understand. Aren’t you at least going to tell me why you’re pulling me?” you almost shouted. You’re in public, in a place where inducing mass panic was easy. You let Owens pull you away from the scanner and Jay. You looked back at your friend. Jay held his hands out in question. You could only mouth to him, I don’t know.
Owens brought you to his box, where Jungwon was waiting expectantly. No fucking way. This motherfucker set you up.
“Thank you for your cooperation,” Jungwon said without the playful tone you’d come to know. “Is there an examination room we can hold her in until my partner gets here?”
Owens dragged you behind him as he marched into the hall where the search rooms were. You looked between him and Jungwon, both of whom refused to even spare you a glance. Desperation and confusion built up in your chest. Why the hell are you being arrested right now? For letting a bomb through? A bomb that this supposed special agent told you to let through? That’s what you get for blindly trusting someone. Man, your survival instincts sucked. Maybe it was a good thing you weren’t accepted to be an FBI agent. But something about Jungwon made you feel safe, safe enough to just take him at his word.
Once you entered the room, your supervisor released you. You spun to face the two of them, about to ask what was going on when Owens took the words right out of your mouth. “What the hell is going on in my airport?”
Jungwon leaned against the table, crossing his arms, a serious look adorning his face. “There’s a dangerous individual that we’re trying to catch. The only way to arrest him and make sure the charges stick is if he has the carry-on in his possession. They’re making a trade before the plane boards.”
Huh? Oh. Oh! You weren’t being arrested.
“And why did you have me pull Y/N? Make it seem like she was fired?”
Jungwon sighed. “Unfortunately, there’s a contingency plan in place to kill Y/N after she let the carry-on through. To my client’s knowledge, I’m taking care of her right now.”
Rubbing his face, Owens let out a groan. “Why wasn’t TSA made aware of this?”
“We believe he has someone capable of intercepting emails or calls. We couldn’t take the chance. This man has slipped through our fingers on technicalities far too many times.”
Wow, that really makes you wonder how competent government agencies are.
“So, I’m down a TSO, and I can’t alert anyone about the threat?” Owens was exasperated. You’d never seen the man so aged before.
Jungwon nodded, checking his watch. “It’s imperative you act like everything is normal. Obviously, you can attribute your stress to Y/N getting arrested, but, other than that, you have to carry on. Business as usual.”
“And me?” you asked. “What am I supposed to do? Wait here?”
Jungwon’s eyes met yours. You could almost see the mirth enter his eyes. “Nope. You’ll be helping me and my guys catch the perp.”
You and Owens must’ve synced up at some point because your jaws dropped simultaneously. “Excuse me?”
“You can’t expect me to trust Y/N—no offense—with an operation like this,” Owens squeaked, sweat beading at his temples.
Jungwon leaned closer to your supervisor with cat-like eyes. “But you trust me, yes?”
“Hardly,” Owens muttered. You found yourself nodding in agreement. Who the hell was this guy? Was every special agent as unhinged as him?
A pout formed on Jungwon’s lips. “Fine. You trust the FBI, right?”
Your supervisor nodded reluctantly. Jungwon raised an eyebrow with a smirk before straightening his posture. “Then, trust that I’m making the best calls that I can to ensure everyone’s safety. Now, I think you’ve been here for far too long.”
Jungwon started shooing your boss away, opening the door for him. “I’ll keep her safe,” Jungwon called after him and shut the door without giving you much time to process any of it. He looked at you with a wide grin and clapped his hands together. “Now! Let’s get started, shall we?”
You looked at him suspiciously. “What exactly did you want me for?”
“Well, I needed someone who has the codes to the backrooms so I can move around freely. Plus, I saved your life, didn’t I?” Jungwon replied like it was obvious. When you kept eyeing him with distrust, he puffed out his cheeks. “Okay, maybe I also wanted to see how you’d do as an FBI agent.”
Your jaw just couldn’t stop dropping today. “You’re risking the safety of 200,000 people on a gamble? To see if I’m any good? Are you insane?”
“Hey! That’s what Sunoo said too!” Jungwon pointed at you in joyful shock.
You clenched your jaw, trying to contain your increasing frustration for the man in front of you. “200,000 lives in the hands of a freaking child,” you scoffed in disbelief. This is the type of person they let into the FBI? Was he even in the FBI?
“How did you even get Owens to play along with you?” you gritted out. Jungwon looked up from his phone. You watched him, unimpressed, as he patted himself down before pulling out a badge. He flashed the FBI identification at you with a grin. “This pretty much did all the talking,” Jungwon said. “Had to be discreet, though. I slipped it to him in a Chili’s takeout container with a napkin with the general plan on it.”
“That’s incredibly risky for someone that’s undercover,” you pointed out. “What if your client searched you?”
Jungwon tilted his head thoughtfully. “I would’ve had to lie my ass off and say it was a fake for the plan but, thankfully, he’s not as paranoid as he should be for a bomber.”
His nonchalance made your head spin. Was this guy for real? Are you in the Twilight Zone? You couldn’t help but feel like you were stuck in an action comedy as the comic-relief sidekick whose plot armor was faulty.
“Alright, here’s the plan,” Jungwon began, pulling out a folded napkin that had oil stains here and there. This couldn’t be what he gave to Owens, right? “My client thinks I’m in here tying up loose ends. That gives me time to intercept the handoff. You…” He paused, giving you an appraising look, “are going to help me keep track of our guy and make sure he doesn’t do anything crazy like kill a civilian.”
“You’ve got to be joking,” you said flatly, arms crossed. “I confiscate oversized toothpaste, Jungwon. What makes you think I have the stealth training for this?”
“Your aptitude tests. Plus, you ranked first in TSA’s threat assessment,” he countered, smirking. “Look at you, overachiever.”
You wanted to argue, but you had to trust him, even if that meant trusting yourself. This was stuff you used to dream about—being a part of the FBI and taking down terrorists. The little girl that wasn’t marred by life’s letdowns was jumping for joy, while the adult you was freaking out about the implications of the whole thing.
“Fine,” you said reluctantly. “Where do you need me?”
Jungwon’s grin widened. “Atta girl! First, we need to make sure Mr. Pack Mule doesn’t get cold feet and bolt. I need you to tail him through the terminal while I call for backup.”
“You’re doing all this without backup?” you weren’t sure whether to laugh or panic.
“I had you! And the rest of the TSA,” Jungwon said, shrugging. “I don’t really know. My boss cleared the plan.”
The FBI was run by a bunch of idiots. “So, you want me, the TSO still very much in her uniform, to tail a man that has seen my face?”
“Oh. I hadn’t thought about that,” Jungwon said, tapping his chin. “Just go change into your normal clothes.”
“I have no normal clothes, Jungwon,” you deadpanned. “I came in my work clothes.”
Jungwon gasped, bringing his fist to his mouth in shock. “But what about after-work plans? You know, New Year’s Eve? A boyfriend? A girlfriend?”
This mother— “I don’t have any after-work plans,” you gritted out. You were so close to damning all these passengers.
“Don’t you guys have a lost and found or something? For bags that were never picked up?” Jungwon asked.
“Yes, but do we even have the time?” You were skeptical. All of this felt like a big prank, like John Quiñones was about to pop out.
He glanced down at his watch. “It’s 11:11. Hey! Make a wish!”
You wished that he’d stop acting like this was just another day. For goodness' sake, people’s lives were at stake. When Jungwon peeked an eye open and noticed you weren’t making a wish, he cleared his throat. “Tough crowd. Well, do you remember what his boarding pass said?”
You thought back to the moment you handed off the boarding pass to Riki Nishimura. “His flight’s at 14:00.”
Jungwon smiled and clapped his hands. “Then we’ve got plenty of time. Let’s go shopping!”
When he opened the door and stepped out, you dragged along. “This is how people miss their flights,” you muttered.
You followed Jungwon out of the holding room, unsure whether to laugh or cry at the absurdity of your situation. Jungwon, with confident strides and ever-present grin, walked like there wasn’t a threat of mass murder, while you trailed behind, wondering if you were a part of a special Truman Show segment.
The TSA lost-and-found was tucked away in the back of the back rooms. Jungwon strolled in, waving to the confused staffers who were trying to figure out who he was. “Good morning, ladies and gentlemen! Nothing out of the ordinary to see here. This excellent TSO is just helping me relocate my luggage.”
The employees exchanged glances, unsure whether to stop him or let him proceed. “Uh… you’re not allowed to be back here,” one of them said hesitantly.
With bright eyes, Jungwon looked at you expectantly. What the hell was he looking at you—oh. You brought out your badge, which Jungwon snatched. He held it up with a flourish, not waiting for a response before walking straight to the pile of abandoned suitcases. “Come on, Y/N, pick one out. Which suitcase do you think would have stuff in your size?”
You hesitated before stepping into the storage area. You saw battered-up grey suitcases, along with red and blue ones. You gingerly pulled a large pink one with an obnoxious amount of stickers, careful to keep the pile intact. Putting it down, you knelt to open it. Now, if this were any other day, you would’ve been shocked at the contents inside. But, observing the trends for today, you weren’t surprised that men’s clothing was staring back at you—edgy, cyberpunk clothes at that.
“Nice choice,” Jungwon said approvingly, peering over your shoulder. “You just look like every other fashionista in this airport!”
You glared at him as he smirked. “You’re enjoying this way too much. Isn’t the whole point of me changing not to draw attention?”
“This aesthetic draws attention to the clothes, not the face,” Jungwon replied, picking up a pair of sunglasses from the luggage. “Plus, these glasses will give you total anonymity.”
Rolling your eyes, you hid behind some pillars and changed quickly. Once you appeared, Jungwon whistled. "Maybe you should take this for those after-work plans.”
Your fist was itching to make that connecting flight into his face. His stupid, nonchalant, good-looking face. Before you could become a MMA, a job you didn’t realize was appealing until you met Jungwon, he gave you a quick rundown. “Alright, here’s the plan. Our guy is likely going to wander the terminal until he gets the signal to meet the main perp. He can’t afford to look suspicious, so he’ll be moving like any regular passenger—well, as best as he can under duress—checking his phone, grabbing a coffee, maybe even sitting down to wait. You’ll follow him, but keep your distance. Blend in. Act like you’re just another traveler.”
“And what about you?” you asked, crossing your arms.
“I’ll be coordinating with my backup team and keeping an eye on you through the cameras,” Jungwon replied, tapping his phone. “Don’t worry, I’ll be watching your every move.”
“Great,” you muttered. “So, what happens if I get caught?”
Jungwon gave you a mischievous grin. “Then I guess we’ll find out how good your improv skills are. Think of it as your audition for future undercover missions with the FBI.”
You’d get arrested for murder before you ever reapplied for that damned government agency. You could feel your eye twitching at the sight of Jungwon.
With that, he escorted you out of the lost-and-found and into the bustling terminal. Before he shut the door, he gave you a thumbs up. “I’ll be communicating with you through the earpiece I gave you. Remember to not look like you’re talking to air. That tends to attract the wrong kind of attention.”
Breathe, Y/N. You can’t beat the FBI agent’s ass as much as you wanted to. Once the door closed, you scanned the area until you spotted Riki Nishimura sitting at a café, sipping a coffee and scrolling through his phone. It didn’t take long; the man’s nervous energy made him stick out like a sore thumb. You took a deep breath and moved into the flow of travelers, keeping your eyes on him without being obvious.
You situated yourself in one of the eating areas across from the café, pulling out your phone to act as if you were just another passenger waiting for her flight. Jungwon’s voice crackled in your ear. “You’re doing great, Y/N. Keep it up. Remember, don’t get too close!”
No shit. “I know,” you whispered, trying not to look like a schizophrenic as you stole glances at Nishimura. He seemed jittery; every so often, he glanced over his shoulder or scanned the crowd, as if he could sense he was being watched.
After what felt like an eternity, Nishimura got up and made his way toward a quieter part of the terminal, away from the main crowds. Your heart raced as you followed him into the area near Gate 54, where only a handful of passengers were sitting.
Jungwon’s voice came through again. “Heads up, Y/N. This is likely where the handoff will happen. Stay sharp. My backup team is on its way, but we need to make sure we catch the mastermind with the suitcase in hand.”
Mastermind? This is nothing like Criminal Minds. What you wouldn’t give to watch an episode right now.
You found a seat nearby, pretending to check your phone as you kept an eye on Nishimura. He placed his suitcase by his feet and sat down, fidgeting nervously. When you moved closer, he glanced up, his eyes widening slightly. You froze, panic flaring in your chest. Did he know? Did he suspect something? His eyes darted back down to his phone that he was clutching tightly.
You put your phone up to your ear, speaking in hushed tones. “Jungwon, he’s definitely spooked. He looks like he’s about to pass out.”
“Maybe having a pretty girl near him made him more nervous." Jungwon teased. You could feel your vein pulsing against your skin, wanting to pop out at his comment. For God’s sake, man, there was a bomb a couple of feet in front of you. You’d think he’d act a little more professional.
“Relax, Y/N,” Jungwon continued. “He’s scared out of his mind, which means he’ll follow orders to the letter. Just stay close. If he deviates from the plan, we’ll know something’s up.”
A few minutes later, another man approached him—tall, broad-shouldered, wearing a sharp suit and dark glasses. They exchanged a brief nod before the man sat down beside him.
Your pulse quickened as you tried to hear their conversation without getting too close. Jungwon’s voice buzzed in your ear. “Wait. That’s not my client. Hold your position.”
You watched as the man in the suit handed Nishimura a piece of paper, likely the code to activate the bomb. Nishimura hesitated before slipping it into his pocket, looking around nervously. You swallowed hard, your heart thundering in your chest. Nishimura sat stiffly, his foot tapping an erratic rhythm on the floor. The man in the suit nodded and stood.
“They’re splitting up,” you hissed. “The suit’s heading toward the bathrooms. Nishimura’s staying put.”
“Stay on Nishimura,” Jungwon instructed. “We’ve got agents heading to the bathroom.”
You discretely nodded, moving casually toward a column near Nishimura’s seat. You leaned against it, pretending to check your phone, but your entire focus was on the nervous man gripping his suitcase like a lifeline. He shifted uncomfortably in his seat, his gaze flickering between the boarding line and the bathroom entrance. Then, he stood up, carefully weaving through the rushing travelers.
“Nishimura’s on the move. I think he’s moving to a different gate,” you reported, stretching widely to peer at the nervous man’s retreating back.
“Follow him,” Jungwon’s voice crackled. “He’s probably meeting with the man we’re trying to apprehend.”
“Copy that,” you muttered, your stomach twisting with nerves. You pushed off the column and strode to catch up the pack mule, keeping your movements purposeful but unhurried. As your target slipped into Gate 32’s waiting area, you slowed your pace, choosing to stay further this time. This guy was definitely going to be able to tell the girl in cyberpunk clothing is following him—you’re the only one in this damn airport not in sweats.
You saw him sit by the window, situating the luggage a seat away from him. Your heart pounded as you carefully positioned yourself behind a small cluster of passengers, trying to blend in. You could feel your palms growing clammy, your mind racing with the possibilities. Who was he waiting for now? Was the so called mastermind going to show up here?
Jungwon’s voice broke through the static in your earpiece. “Good job keeping a low profile. I almost have everyone in position. Backup is securing the rest of the terminal, but we need to ensure the guy is caught in the act. Keep your eyes on Nishimura, but don’t make direct eye contact.”
“Easier said than done,” you muttered, adjusting your position so you had a clear view of Nishimura. He was fidgeting again, his leg bouncing as he clutched his phone tightly. Every so often, his gaze darted toward the main concourse, scanning the faces of the passing travelers.
A few minutes later, a man in a dark trench coat entered the waiting area, his presence exuding quiet authority. He was calm, composed, and utterly nondescript—except for the piercing look in his eyes as he locked onto Nishimura. Your breath caught as you realized this must be him.
“Jungwon, we have a new player,” you whispered, trying not to draw attention to yourself. “Trench coat. Looks calm, but he’s definitely the one in charge. He’s making his way to Nishimura now.”
Jungwon responded almost instantly. “I’ve got eyes on him. That’s the guy that paid for my services. Stay put. If things go south, I’ll move in.”
You resisted the urge to roll your eyes. It wasn’t like you had much of a choice. All you could do was watch as the man in the trenchcoat approached Nishimura, who stood up immediately, looking like a deer caught in headlights. The man sat down next to him, gesturing subtly toward the suitcase. Nishimura hesitated before nodding and sliding the luggage closer to the man.
He leaned in, his lips moving as he whispered something to Nishimura. You wished you could hear what they were saying. Your hands clenched into fists at your sides, tension coiling in your chest. You watched Nishimura slip the man the piece of paper the suited man gave him. This was it. The moment of truth.
Jungwon’s voice came through again, more serious now. “They’re making the handoff. Stay sharp. When the trench coat takes the suitcase, we move in. I’ll need you to help direct the crowd away from the gate. We can’t risk a panic.”
You nodded subtly, your muscles tensing as you prepared for what was about to happen. The man finally reached down, his hand brushing against the handle of the suitcase. Time seemed to slow as he lifted it, his expression calm and unbothered.
“Now!” Jungwon’s voice barked in your ear.
Before you could fully process what was happening, Jungwon appeared out of an "Authorized Personnel Only” door, moving with the precision and speed of a predator. You expected this to go as planned: the man arrested, the suitcase secured, passengers safe. But life, as you well knew, didn’t always go as planned.
The trenchcoat man, faster and more perceptive than you anticipated, spotted Jungwon as he closed in. His eyes narrowed as his gaze swept the terminal—and then locked onto you. Time seemed to freeze as he looked at you curiously, the faintest curl of a smirk forming on his lips.
“He’s spotted me,” you hissed into the comms, your heart thundering.
Before Jungwon could reach him, he grabbed the suitcase, shoved Nishimura aside, and bolted toward the exit. Passengers screamed and scattered as the man shoved his way through the crowd, the suitcase clutched tightly in his hand.
“Shit!” Jungwon growled into your earpiece. “Y/N, stay back! We can’t risk him detonating it here.”
But you weren’t about to let the mastermind vanish into thin air. Not with the suitcase. Not with the bomb.
“I can stop him!” you shot back, already moving. Your instincts overrode Jungwon’s command as you tore after the fleeing man, weaving through panicked travelers.
“Y/N, stop! I’m serious—let him go! I’ll catch him!” Jungwon’s voice cracked with frustration, but you ignored it, your focus locked on the man ahead of you.
He was fast, but fear fueled your adrenaline, and you gained on him as he burst through a side door marked “Authorized Personnel Only." You followed without hesitation, emerging into a service hallway dimly lit by flickering fluorescent lights. The cold, industrial smell hit your nose as the sound of his footsteps echoed sharply against the walls.
“Damn it, Y/N!” Jungwon growled into your earpiece. “He’s armed, and you’re unarmed! Wait for backup!”
“I’m not letting him get away,” you shot back, pushing yourself harder. Every instinct screamed at you to stop him, to end this here before the situation spiraled further out of control.
You chased him down a narrow corridor that opened into a large, bustling luggage distribution area—a maze of conveyor belts and sorting systems moving suitcases toward their respective flights. The constant whir of machinery mixed with the distant chatter of workers in reflective vests, creating a cacophony of noise.
The mastermind didn’t hesitate. He vaulted over a conveyor belt, landing with a thud on the other side, the suitcase clutched tightly in his hand. You didn’t break stride, leaping onto the conveyor belt and running along it to keep up. Thank goodness you did high school track.
“He’s heading into the service tunnels,” you reported breathlessly, shoving through a side door marked "Authorized Personnel Only." The dim fluorescent lights flickered as you ran down the narrow hallway, catching a glimpse of his trench coat as he rounded a corner.
“You don’t know what you’re doing!” Jungwon growled in your ear. “You’re not an agent. If you push him, he’ll press the button. Stand down, Y/N!”
“You made this gamble, so trust me!” you shot back, determination coursing through you. Your boots pounded against the linoleum as you followed him into the luggage distribution area—a sprawling maze of conveyor belts and baggage carts.
The clatter of machinery was deafening, the air filled with the whir of belts and the rumble of luggage being sorted. Workers froze in confusion as the man vaulted over a conveyor belt, suitcase clutched tightly in his hand. Without hesitation, you climbed onto the belt, running along it to keep pace.
He glanced back, his wild eyes locking onto yours. When he saw you gaining on him, his lips twisted into a cruel smile. He jumped down from the belt and spun to face you, pulling something from his coat. Your stomach dropped as he revealed a small device—the detonator.
“Stop right there!” he shouted, his voice cutting through the noise. His thumb hovered over the button, his hand steady. “One more step, and we all die.”
You skidded to a halt, your hands instinctively raising. Every muscle in your body screamed to act, but the detonator left no room for error.
“Drop the suitcase,” you ordered, keeping your voice calm. “You don’t have to do this.”
The man’s laugh was cold and bitter. “Oh, I think I do. This isn’t just a bomb—it’s justice.”
Your gaze flickered to the suitcase, your heart pounding. The deadly nerve agent would get in the vents and spread the toxin across the airport if you let him detonate it. The death toll wouldn’t just be in the hundreds—it would be catastrophic.
“You think killing innocent people is justice?” you demanded. “You’ll slaughter thousands of people who have nothing to do with your ‘cause.’”
“Innocent?” he sneered, his voice filled with venom. “There’s nothing innocent about propping up a system that rewards greed and stomps on the poor. You know who’s on that plane? The golden child of Samsung himself. The heir to Korea’s wealthiest dynasty. When he dies, the entire country will feel it. His death will send a message that no amount of money can ignore.”
Your breath hitched. You’d read about the CEO’s son earlier, how he was traveling to Seoul on that plane. He was young, charismatic, projected to inherit the company and continue its dominance over South Korea’s economy. His death would undoubtedly send shockwaves through the nation—but at what cost?
“And you think this is the answer?” you shot back, anger lacing your voice. “Killing hundreds of innocent passengers just to take out one man? That’s not justice—that’s cowardice.”
“Cowardice?” he spat, his eyes blazing. “What do you know about the lives people like me live? Scraping by, drowning in debt, while they sip champagne in their sky-high towers? Korea will never be free of its wealth disparity unless someone forces change. And we’re that someone.”
“Y/N,” Jungwon’s voice came through your earpiece, tight with urgency. “Keep him talking. We’ve jammed the detonator signal, but I need more time to get there.”
You swallowed hard, taking a step closer. “And what happens when this ‘change’ you’re forcing costs thousands of lives? No one will listen to your message—they’ll just see you as a terrorist.”
“Let them,” he said with a chilling smirk. “They’ll remember my name, and our cause will have its audience.”
His thumb pressed down on the detonator. For a split second, your heart stopped—but the bomb didn’t detonate. The device let out a sharp beep, its signal blocked. His eyes widened in confusion as he pressed it again, then again. Nothing.
“Performance anxiety,” Jungwon’s voice echoed. “It happens all the time. Take him down.”
But instead of panicking, the man began to laugh—a low, sinister sound that sent a chill down your spine. He dropped the detonator to the floor and slowly crouched to open the suitcase.
From the suitcase, he pulled out a folded piece of paper—the same one Nishimura had handed him earlier. He held it up, waving it in the air like a trophy. “You thought this was over?” he taunted. “This is the manual override. A simple code, and the bomb goes live. No signal needed.”
“Put the paper down,” you ordered, your voice shaking with barely contained fear.
Jungwon appeared in your peripheral, gun pointed at the bomber. The man smirked, tucking the paper into his coat as he held the suitcase in front of him like a shield. “Go ahead,” he said, his tone mocking. “Shoot me. Let’s see how good your aim is. One bullet in the wrong place, and this thing goes off right here. Do you want to kill 200,000 people or just 250? Your call, TSA.”
“Y/N, don’t,” Jungwon warned, his voice sharp. “He’s baiting you.”
Your hands clenched into fists at your sides as the man continued, his voice dripping with malice. “The clock’s ticking, sweetheart. Let me go, and only one plane goes down. Stop me, and everyone here dies. Are you really ready to play God?”
Your mind raced, your pulse thundering in your ears. You couldn’t let him leave, but you couldn’t risk setting off the bomb, either. The nerve agent wouldn’t just kill those in the immediate area—it would spread like wildfire, a silent killer that spared no one.
“Y/N,” Jungwon’s voice broke through your panic. “Backup is in position. Keep distracting him so they can take the shot.”
You swallowed hard, forcing yourself to stay calm. “You talk a lot about justice,” you said, keeping your voice steady. “But all I see is a man willing to bring suffering to innocent people all because he was dealt a bad hand in life. Get in fucking line. You think killing people will solve anything? You’re not a hero. You’re a coward.”
His smirk faltered for a fraction of a second, and that was all they needed. A single, deafening gunshot rang out, and the man crumpled to the ground, the suitcase slipping from his grasp. Jungwon stood by you moments later, flanked by agents who quickly secured the suitcase and retrieved the override code.
You exhaled shakily, your legs threatening to give out beneath you as the adrenaline drained from your body. Jungwon clapped a hand on your shoulder, his expression a mix of relief and admiration.
“You did good, Y/N,” he said softly. “Better than good.”
The bomber was dragged away in cuffs, still spewing his venomous ideology as the agents hauled him out of the luggage distribution area. The suitcase was carefully handled by the bomb squad, its contents secured in a reinforced containment unit. You watched as they loaded it into a waiting hazmat vehicle, the reality of what you’d just prevented finally sinking in.
Jungwon stood beside you, his hands on his hips, as he let out a long exhale. “Well,” he said, his tone light but tinged with exhaustion, “I’d say that’s one way to spend New Year’s Eve.”
You let out a breathy laugh, the tension in your chest easing for the first time all day. “Not exactly how I planned to ring in the new year.”
He glanced at you with a sly grin. “You mean this wasn’t on your Pinterest board? Saving 200,000 lives and wrestling a suitcase full of nerve agent from a madman?”
“Must’ve slipped my mind,” you deadpanned, though the corners of your lips twitched upward.
Jungwon chuckled, shoving his hands into his jacket pockets. “You know,” he said, tilting his head toward you, “you’d make a damn good FBI agent. You’ve got the instincts, the guts, the whole package. You sure you don’t want to reconsider applying again?”
You raised an eyebrow at him, crossing your arms. “You still planning to write me that stellar recommendation you promised?”
He smirked, his gaze dropping to the ground briefly before returning to you. “Guess I’ll have to now, huh? Not sure my conscience could handle letting someone like you go to waste at the TSA.”
A comfortable silence settled between you, the weight of what you’d just accomplished hanging in the air. The distant hum of the hazmat vehicle and the fading chatter of agents were the only sounds, but neither of you moved. For a moment, you both stood there, reflecting on how close the crisis had come to unfolding—and how thankful you were that it hadn’t.
Jungwon broke the silence first, his voice quieter now. “You know… I don’t really do New Year’s resolutions. But after today, I’m thinking I might try something new.”
You glanced at him, curious. “Oh yeah? Like what?”
He turned to you fully, his expression soft but tinged with that playful glint you were beginning to recognize. “Like asking someone out who just prevented the death of thousands. Someone who, I don’t know, might be free tonight.”
You blinked at him, caught off guard by the shift in tone. “Are you seriously asking me out right now?”
He grinned sheepishly, rubbing the back of his neck. “Hey, after the day we just had, I figure the least I can do is offer to be your after-work plans. You know, in case you don’t have any.”
You fixed him with a pointed look, letting the silence stretch just long enough for him to fidget uncomfortably. “After everything you put me through today?” you finally said, your voice deadpan.
Jungwon’s confidence wavered, and for a split second, he looked genuinely unsure of himself. But before he could start rambling, you let a small smile break through.
“Fine,” you said, rolling your eyes playfully. “You can be my after-work plans.”
His grin widened instantly, a mix of relief and triumph lighting up his face. “See? I knew you couldn’t resist my charm.”
“Don’t push it,” you warned, though your smile softened the words.
As the hazmat vehicle pulled away, Jungwon leaned in slightly, lowering his voice conspiratorially. “You know, we stopped a pretty big bang from happening today,” he said with a teasing glint in his eye. “Maybe tonight we can see a different kind of bang in the sky. Fireworks, of course.”
You snorted, shaking your head. “If that’s your idea of flirting, you really need to work on your technique.”
Jungwon laughed, the sound warm and genuine as he fell into step beside you. “Fair enough. I’ll try to impress you with my conversational skills over dinner.”
“Dinner, huh?” you said, arching a brow as the two of you walked toward the terminal exit. “You sure you can handle that much pressure?”
“After today?” He glanced at you with a grin. “I think I can handle anything.”
And as you stepped out into the crisp evening air, you couldn’t help but think that maybe—just maybe—this new year was off to a better start than you ever could’ve imagined and your dream was just within your reach.

[below the cut]
“i’m sorry!” you shrieked, quickly running away from your boyfriend after accidentally scaring him from behind, causing him to be pushed onto the hotel bed.
you realized that you made a mistake when jungwon’s orange juice spilled onto his clothes, thankfully his hand quickly stretched out so it wouldn’t be poured onto the bed. the juice dripped on his chin, causing him to wipe it with his sleeve.
jungwon looked at your figure running away from the bed. away from his sight, causing him to instantly cause revenge.
you quickly ran to the bathroom, after hearing your boyfriend say, “this is the first time since we dated that you hit me.” his tone didn’t sound serious which made you relieved but it still caused your heart to be shaken by how deep it became.
jungwon was still behind you, almost grabbing your wrist but he failed when you closed the door on him. his arm tried to pull on the handle, immediately making his muscles be flexed.
“i did nothing wrong!” you giggled like a kid after being chased by him from the other side. something within you flamed, having the idea of your boyfriend chasing you excited you.
then the lights from the bathroom turned off. you realized that the lights can be opened from the outside, causing you to shout in defeat, “hey!” in which jungwon ignored and continued to press buttons to make you come out.
his grin stretched out when he heard the door handle being opened that’s when he came inside the bathroom. you immediately backed up as your heart jumped to see your boyfriend’s figure in front of you.
“hi.” you looked up at him, trying to sound all innocent, sweet and putting up a front so your cuteness can work on him.
jungwon tilted his head to the side, staring you down with a smirk. your lips started to twitch when he continued to smile at you with an idea in his head. you came to realize it when he said nothing.
you gulped, eyes slowly going down to his all black outfit. it suddenly made you small when jungwon can easily tower over you.
“hi.” jungwon spoke, making you gain goosebumps and shivers on your back. you didn’t realize what jungwon was doing as you kept staring at his lovely eyes. his touch electrified your body as his hand slowly cupped around your wrist. he sounded so sweet and gentle but you knew it was acting.
you knew that you fucked up.
jungwon turned around, dragging you alongside with him and shoving the door open. you licked your lips in nervousness, “hey jungwon i did nothing wrong,” you panicked, trying to let go of his grip but he continued to drag you.
you entered the bedroom, as jungwon dragged you to the front of him. you put your hands up in defeat as jungwon kept walking towards you with his hands on the pocket. you immediately walked back as you were getting intimidated by his stare but it somehow thrilled you.
the way jungwon stared you down with his fluffy hair messed up from the struggle of chasing you and how his broad shoulders were emphasized by his slim clothes — it made you realize his ethereal attractiveness and made you questioned of how such a beauty is your boyfriend?
especially with this new side of him.
as you continue to back away, your back is directly met by the bed which caused you to bounce lightly on the quality.
jungwon easily hovered over you. you looked at his eyes, doing the best you can to break jungwon’s front. your cheeks were painting pink when the distance between you and jungwon was short.
you kept getting distracted by the necklace that was dangling from his neck, touching your lips. PRADA. your mind was running through different thoughts.
jungwon’s lazy smile caused your heart to run 1000 miles per second. each of his arm was at the side of your face as his stomach was touching yours.
jungwon kept admiring your flustered face, enjoying every second at how easily you blush every time he tries to make your heart race. it was a great reminder that you’re his, not anyone else.
jungwon suddenly chuckled, lowering his head and look back at you. your eyebrows perked at the sudden laughter and it caused you to be more nervous at what he was planning.
“ow!” your face scrunched when jungwon lightly flickered on your forehead. you pouted at him with anger boiling in your eyes, but yet again you spilled orange juice on him.
jungwon’s lips grinned at your reaction. then his lips touched your forehead, the spot where he flicked with his strong fingers.
he looked down at you, proud of himself to make you more flustered. you were an internal mess. your eyes widened and jaw opened at the sudden gesture. you can hear the echo of your heartbeat when his soft lips pecked your forehead.
jungwon lifted himself from you, his dimples poking out when he sees your frozen figure on the bed. you were still processing at what happened. he started to walk away from the bedroom, “let’s go to the pool y/n.” he smiled before disappearing from your sight as if nothing happened while you’re lying in bed trying to calm yourself down.

tiktoks enhypen would make with you.
happy 3 years of enha!!! to celebrate here's my first ot7 enha headcannon !! i hope you guys enjoyyyy.
genre: fluff. established relationship.
warning: links to tiktok. i do not know anyone in the videos below. not proof read.
LEE HEESEUNG ‧₊˚❀༉‧
he's not one to outwardly ask to make tiktoks with you, or be really on top of current trends. however, you thought it would be funny to record his reaction to you playing the "water" song associated with the tiktok trend to see if he would look over. it was something most people were doing with their boyfriends and it looked funny. heeseung was well aware of the "water" trend and even did the dance for you one night to make you laugh. however, he did not know people were testing their boyfriends to see if they would look over in attempt to see a girl doing the sensual dance on the screen. so when you take the video you both can't help but laugh uncontrollably. watching him playfully sulk in the corner was also an added plus.
PARK JONGSEONG ‧₊˚❀༉‧
a lot like heeseung, jay is aware of tiktok and maybe some trends however he had never need the lipstick trend you had been dying to do with him. so when you show him the tiktok he can't help but smile a little at the fact that you wanted to do it with him. as you placed the kisses all over his face he giggled and looked in the mirror. it was safe to say that jay had never been covered in lipstick like this before so it made him extremely giggly. even made him want to snap a selfie once you had planted each kiss and made sure the lipstick stain was visible on his tanned skin. you'd have to film the video multiple times because he'd get a little too distracted while looking at you. theres no hiding the love in his eyes for you... fr.
SIM JAEYUN ‧₊˚❀༉‧
he was the one who saw this trend on his fyp and showed you the videos. he thought it was the cutest thing and literally begged you to film it with him. after a couple days on convincing you said yes. so on your way to your dinner date, jake props up his phone on a street lamp and with out rehearsing much filmed the interaction with you. what you didn't expect was for him to lean in and kiss you so passionately and aggressively as he did. in between kisses all you can hear were his happy giggles because he knew he took you off guard in the best way possible. so that one and only take was the one he used to upload, and man he was reaaaaaal proud about it.
PARK SUNGHOON ‧₊˚❀༉‧
you've been dying to post something cute with your boyfriend on social media, however sunghoon is so anti pda and couples content it took him a little bit on convincing. luckily, when you showed him this trend he realized he hardly had to be in the video and the focus was on you, which in his shy nature he really enjoyed. so when you guys went outside to film it, he didn't think about his speed or force. grabbing you to his chest a little too roughly made the both of you burst out into laughter uncontrollably. he obviously apologized for almost snapping you in half in between his sweet smile and chuckles. and when you both looked back at the video, sunghoon begged you to post it because he just thought the end result was way too funny not to put out there.
KIM SEONWOO ‧₊˚❀༉‧
sunoo loves scrolling through tiktok, he's on all the trends and knows all about the "sassy man apocalypse". and is very proud to say he is in fact part of it. he always talks about how you're so lucky to have such a soft, sensitive, and sassy boyfriend to keep it real with you all the time. however, he never thought you would make a tiktok like this and post it. he honestly had no idea why you were filming him while he played on his phone, and of course gave you the hardest side eye on earth. but, later you show hin the video you made and it made him laugh. he knew he had to watch his facial expressions moving forward because his face said it all in that video. yes you have a sassy man but you wouldn't have it any other way!
YANG JUNGWON ‧₊˚❀༉‧
being honest, jungwon has always let you know how much he hates cringy couple tiktok trends and tends to make fun of them. so one day when you're out in the park he sees another couple doing a rather sweet looking trend and it makes him want to immediately make fun of it. so when he gives you the idea of spinning and then running at you at full speed you laugh and agree. while filming you couldn't help but notice his bright dimpled smile coming at you at as he ran towards you. you fought the urge of stopping him in his tracks and kissing his excessively cute face and ran away as instructed. watching the video back, the both of you couldn't help but laugh. it ended up being much cuter than intended but, you guys were always an unintentionally cute couple.
NISHIMURA RIKI ‧₊˚❀༉‧
riki is the definition of your hype man. if you do something he stands and watches happily all the time and usually hypes you up while doing it. so when you pull out your phone and prop it up while on a walk home after dinner, he couldn't help but watch you dance to your little tiktok song. if he's being honest, he's not a tiktok type guy and a little like jungwon finds couple tiktok trends kinda cringy and honestly most tiktok trends cringe in general. he's always in his head about looking cool... but, when you encorage him to dance a little he gets kinda into it making it fun for both of you. looking back at the video he thinks it's funny and actually kinda cute. but he never expected you to post it. it was just a video of the two of you messing around like young people do, deep down however he's actually kinda happy you're showing him off... even if it is on tiktok.

A tired sigh leaves my lips as I finally sit down on the bench I spent several minutes searching for. The square is empty because of the heavy rain that has been falling all day.
I rest the umbrella on the edge of the bench to my right, feeling the thick drops bathe my entire body. I don't care about my soaked clothes or the possibility of catching a cold.
I close my eyes and take a deep breath. It seems that when I’m alone, all my senses are heightened: the rain beating heavily on the leaves of the trees, the smell of the earth that inevitably settles in the air. Many people hate the rain and often associate it with bad things—perhaps because it’s cold, lonely, and, well... wet.
But for me, the sound of rain is one of the best white noises to listen to in moments of stress. I think rain is necessary. Without it, many of the flowers and green plants people love to admire on sunny days wouldn’t have life. They would wither in the heat. It’s cold, but necessary. It’s wet, but just right.
Someone passing by might find me strange right now. I probably look like a lunatic or a pothead. But I’m just lonely. Maybe that’s why I love the rain so much—it gives me the chance to take time for myself, to free my mind from worries, and to focus solely on my inner self.
I’ve never had time to truly pay attention to myself because I was always busy putting on a facade to please the people around me. A girl who is always happy, friendly, polite, and intelligent. But I’m not just that.
I’m fragile, insecure, fearful, and, surprisingly, not that intelligent. Yet I can’t be myself outwardly, because the people I admire most might turn away from me, disappointed.
One thing I’ve realized in these moments of self-reflection is that fear paralyzes us. I’m so afraid of exposing how I feel, of being who I really am, that I can’t fully live. My thoughts feel disorganized, so I can’t bring myself to share them with the world.
Sometimes, I just wish I could retreat from society to sort out my emotions and understand myself as a human being. This is definitely one of those times.
Everything became too much for me—my studies, my family, the people I thought were my friends. I couldn’t handle it anymore, so I grabbed my umbrella and got on the first bus that appeared. It brought me to this beautiful square full of trees and vibrant flowers. Even in the rain, I admired it.
I had no strength left for anything else, so I let the rain wash away my silent tears. It was all I needed—to cry.
I tried to hold back the sobs, but everything I’d been bottling up for days, even weeks, finally poured out. As the minutes passed, I felt a little short of breath, but my chest grew lighter. My mind went blank, and I thanked God for the silence around me.
For a while, I kept my eyes closed, until I realized the rain was no longer falling on me, though I could still hear it. When I lifted my head, I met the sweetest, most concerned eyes I’d ever seen.
Jungwon was holding an umbrella over us, panting as though he’d run a marathon. I wanted to lower my head and pretend nothing was happening, but I couldn’t tear my gaze from his delicate, beautiful features.
His eyes captivated me in a way no one else’s ever had, and his presence was the greatest comfort I’d ever felt from another human being.
“What are you doing here? I’ve been looking everywhere for you,” he said, his voice breaking with his labored breaths. He quickly recovered and sat next to me. I couldn’t bring myself to answer. Embarrassed, I looked away.
He handed me the umbrella, then took off his jacket and draped it over my shoulders.
“Look at you. You’re completely soaked. I hope you don’t catch a cold,” he murmured, taking the umbrella back and pulling me into a gentle sideways hug, letting me rest my head on his shoulder. We stayed like that for a long time, saying nothing. Words weren’t necessary.
“When… when you need to let it all out, you don’t have to run away like this, okay? Call me. No matter what I’m doing, I’ll come to you. And if you really need to escape your problems for a while, I’ll escape with you.” His voice was soft and full of sincerity, bringing tears to my eyes again.
“I’m sorry, Jungwon...” I buried my face in the crook of his neck, clinging to him awkwardly. “I just needed some time away from everything. I’m sorry for making you worry.”
I felt him press a tender kiss to the top of my head as he stroked my hair.
“You don’t need to apologize for being tired. I understand. Everyone needs a break sometimes. I just want you to know you’re not alone, okay? Promise me you’ll reach out to me next time.”
I nodded silently, still hiding my face. Jungwon gently lifted my chin so I’d look at him. His encouraging smile lit up his face, and I couldn’t help but return it, even if mine was smaller.
“I’ll always be here for you. Don’t forget that.” He leaned in and kissed my cheek, a small gesture overflowing with care.
“I’ll never forget. Thank you so much.” I wrapped my arms around him, wishing he could stay by my side forever.

jungwon as your boyfriend headcanons
pairing - bf!jungwon x gn!reader genre - est. relationship, fluff wc - 590 warnings - skinship, crying
౨ৎ reblogs and feedback are greatly appreciated !! <3 ✧˖° ... (library)
⊹ ࣪ ˖ jungwon | heeseung | jay | jake | sunghoon | sunoo | ni-ki
jungwon would be the softest boyfriend to ever exist.
he loves loves loves being affectionate with you. if anything, it's one of the things he looks forward to the most during the day.
he's an absolute sucker for head pats/rubs, giving and receiving. as subtle as he tries to be about it, his reactions give it away.
as much as he loves your affection, he'll always get flustered and can't control the blush that forms on his cheeks especially if you're with the boys.
cuteness aggression. you and him get it all the time. you're just whipped for each other.
jungwon is attached at your hip. where you go, he goes. you disappear for a moment? he's already on his feet searching for you.
jungwon needs to hear your voice every night before he goes to bed. if he's away, expect a facetime call to which you end up falling asleep together.
jungwon will take a few seconds out of his life to text you anything that happens to him throughout the day whether it's something silly or serious. he'd also pop in and tell you every time he sees something that reminds him of you - he'd even sometimes buy you something just because it made him think of you.
jungwon has a time specifically for you and him to talk about your day and catch up on anything you missed. he takes this very very seriously.
jungwon is a very good and attentive listener. his focus is all on you, taking in everything you're saying and observing your expressions. with him being so observant, he knows all about your interests, mannerisms, all the little things.
he always lends you a shoulder to cry on. he's your rock. he keeps you grounded. he wants to be the one you go to when you're going through a hard time.
when you cry he kisses your tears away and stays quiet until you're ready to talk.
jungwon never lets a conflict go unresolved - whether it'd be something between you or something happening to the individual. it pains him knowing that you're upset so he does everything in his power to fix everything.
jungwon thinks everything about you is perfect.
he loves your smile and laughter. after a long stressful day your smile and/or laughter never fails to bring a smile to his face. you're his sun.
he is always messing with you somehow. he'd poke at you, tease you, and play pranks on you. there's never a day where you can live in peace but you don't complain.
jungwon always always always looks at you with a fond expression. you're the only one that can bring out this expression from him. it's very evident to others how in love he is with you.
he's not always the best with words so he makes sure to show you how much he loves you by taking care of you along with other actions.
jungwon slowly lets down his walls the longer you're together. in the beginning of the relationship, he was more reserved because he got too used to having to hold in his hardships and handling everything on his own. but as you got closer he realized that he can trust you and that you'll always be there for him. now you're one of the only people he lets his guard down with.
jungwon enjoys the quiet but not secret dating life. he likes having the privacy of your relationship but will make it obvious that he's all in for you.
