I generally suck at jumping puzzles and I get frustrated easily and make my husband do it so I can just ring to him. However this time I decided to try it on my own to complete my sight seeing log. I never made it to Kugane Tower on my own or the Moonfire tower but this one I finally managed to get up on my own.

My biggest tip for anyone who sucks like I do, change your camera from Legacy to Standard. Legacy camera tends to have your character fly over the pegs completely while Standard kinda "stops you" from jumping more than you need to.

Since my husband was always the one climbing the Kugane tower this time I let him ring to my character for once. 😎

Has anyone actually managed to get to the top of the Rookery jumping puzzles in Empyreum?? I keep falling off. Driving me mad. I just want to know that it can actually be done. And how. I want to get up there. I want to be tall.

I don't have one, unfortunately... my poor depth perception makes them really tricky for me, and the ones that have little jumping have weird mechanics. BUT I do have a really funny story about one.

When I was first doing baby's first map comp with Oaklinna, I made it on my own to Dredgehaunt Cliffs. There exists, in Dredgehaunt, a vista! Like many maps, of course. There are many vistas in many maps! But I decided that this one was one I needed to do.

And I kept thinking, man, this is awfully difficult for a vista. It's taking so long. Why is this so far up. Why are there so many jumps.

So I got the vista. But it was a long way down and this was the days before any gliding at all and I didn't feel like dying, so I kept right on going until I got to the end.

And then I got to the top and there was a chest! That I opened.

And got an achievement for it.

Turns out I had just done the Tribulation Rift Scaffolding!

(Comically I couldn't figure out how to get down and didn't want to wp, but wasn't it convenient that there was a cave right behind it............ yeah I did the Tribulation Caverns too. By accident.)

GW2 jumping puzzles are very fun, and I’ve gotten to a point where I’m very good at them. I’ve decided to tell you guys my strategy on becoming a jumping puzzle master, in just 2 simple steps!

Step 1: Look for some of the easier JPs. I’m talking JPs that are really simple and don’t punish you very hard. A good ones are “Under New Management” in Southsun and “Vizier’s Tower” in Straits of Devastation. The mini jumping puzzles you use to get to vistas are also helpful here. Keep doing JPs like this until you have an understanding of the momentum and movement of your character, and a good grasp of the basics on how jumping puzzles work.

Step 2: The minute the Halloween festival starts, get your ass in to the Mad King’s Clocktower. I know this sounds insane, but trust me. You need to just keep doing Mad King’s Clocktower. You’re going to be so so bad at it, and will fail horribly. This is ok, you’re doing it right. You’ll start to notice that you’re making more and more progress the more you do the JP. This is what you’re looking for. As you keep continuing, eventually you’ll get to the point where you can semi-regularly complete the entire JP.

You are now a Jumping Puzzle Expert.
