La Normandie, Mandarin Oriental Bangkok: Four Hands Lunch.
La Normandie, Mandarin Oriental Bangkok: Four Hands Lunch.
In my perpetual ‘cool by association’ friendship with Zoe, while she was attending meetings with the World’s 50 Best team, I decided to seek out a nice lunch for my first meal in Bangkok.  Fortunately, I didn’t have to look far.  The Fine Dining Lovers association was hosting a ‘four hands’ lunch at the nearby Mandarin Oriental.  I did my research a bit late in the game and ended up requesting a…

Louise
Cuisine: French, fine dining. Location: PMQ, Soho, Hong Kong Price Range: $$$
Louise is a tribute to simple home cooking. Ex-Odette Chef Julien Royer opens a new concept at PMQ infusing nostalgia into each dish, providing guests the interaction of precious memories of family meals, and providing warmth to preparing fresh ingredients. French food is reimagined from land to table, heart to plate.
Recommendations: Angel hair pasta with caviar, tomato tarte, and beef cheek.
Other notes:
- Must book in advance.
- Smart casual dress code required.
- Dishes are pretty overpriced. Be weary of the amount you’re spending per dish. Truthfully, brunch seems like a better deal.
- Recommend going in no more than a group of four. Great for friends, family, celebrations, or a special date night.
