florence faivre gif pack
I hate that I had to watch this show, only to not understand the plot and never get to see Julie Mao, because she....ANYWAYS, also the colouring of this show sucked and it really did ask me to just fling myself into an abyss or something.
In the following pack, there are 16 gifs of Florence Faivre as Julia Mao in the TV show The Expanse. All of these gifs were capped and coloured by yours truly. Florence is Thai and French, so please cast her accordingly!
TAGGING: @tasksweekly for tasks no. 39: THAILAND
Please REBLOG this pack, and use it for your needs. Please be mindful of my rules, and don’t edit or crop these gifs into icons without my permission.

as someone who was already working on a ref sheet for an OC anyway that kinda forgot ArtFight exists until you posted about it, what's ArtFight like?
ArtFight actually has an explanation post here! It explains some of the nuances
Last year was my first ArtFight but I REALLY loved doing it! Essentially how it works is you get put onto one of two teams for the year- last year was Sugar vs Spice. There was a form you could fill out to choose a team, but after a certain point you were randomly assigned a team. I believe you can also choose to be a spectator?
It worked out perfectly for me because I was Team Sugar and most of my mutuals were Team Spice so I could attack my friends >:3
So how it works is, leading up to July(or including July, you can always add/update), you upload your OCs to your account! You can put an icon, a reference, add other art/descriptions, whatever you want! For example, here's some stuff from 2020 that needs to be updated but is fine for the sake of example:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Character Permissions just- being a space for you to say what is or isn't okay with people drawing your characters. There's global permissions where it's your permissions for ALL characters, and you can also set specific permissions for individual characters.
So once ArtFight begins on July 1st, you start to "attack" the other team! What this means is you make artwork of an oc listed on someone else's profile. You get points based on the complexity of the art- a fully shaded full-body piece with a complex background will get way more points than an uncolored sketch of a bust. There's various categories to submit to including: digital art, traditional art, animation, physical crafts, etc. Some people have issues with the way points are distributed because they feel they don't get enough points for all the hard work they do, but the mods usually update the scoring system regularly to make it as fair as possible.
There's "revenges", where if someone attacks you, you specifically attack them back, and it goes back and forth and you can build a "chain" of revenges. There's also "friendly fire" where you attack someone on your team, you just don't earn any points for it.
The winner goes to which team collectively wins the most points by the end of the month! Last year it bled into August to make up for site lag in July. Sadly Team Spice won but oh well! In the end everyone wins tbh because you get a bunch of art of your ocs! Like here's some attacks I got on Mao last year-
Tumblr media
Look at my girl <3
But yeah! Tl;Dr it was a lot of fun and I'm really excited to do it again this year! I saw people voted on a possible theme a few months ago and while I don't know ALL of the possible themes, one of them could be Steampunk vs Cyberpunk and omg I hope it's that

Tagged by the lovely @echokomazgeda ❤️
my shows (in no particular order) :
The Expanse
Stranger Things
Big Little Lies
Sharp Objects
The 100
questions:
1. who is your favorite character in 2?
I love all the characters, but I guess it’s Steve at the moment, at least he had a good storyline in season 3.
2. who is your least favorite character in 1?
That creepy doctor who experiments on children.
3. what is your favorite episode of 4?
The penultimate episode was absolutely stunning, I loved how everything finally fell into place and the whole dramatic build-up.
4. what is your favorite season of 5?
It’s quite the common answer in this fandom, but season 2 is my favourite.
5. who is your favorite couple in 3?
BLL is not a show you watch for shipping, I liked Madeline and Ed (minus the cheating) though.
6. who is your favorite couple in 2?
I used to love Nancy/Jonathan, but they fell a little flat in season 3. Joyce/Hopper were entertaining, although there are other ways to show (sexual) tension than constant arguing.
7. what is your favorite episode in 1?
The episode where Miller finds Julie Mao on Eros and sacrifices himself blew my mind. The whole scene with him and Julie was both visually and emotionally so beautiful.
8. what is your favorite episode of 5?
Ironically, it’s Red Queen, although none of my fave characters are in it. It has a gripping plot and serves as a last hurray to Jaha, and maybe that’s enough.
9. what is your favorite season of 2?
There will never be a season that feels the way than season 1 did, and you can never recreate the emotions that season evoked.
10. how long have you watched 1?
Started when season 1 came out and I’m still watching.
11. how did you become interested in 3?
I saw some gifs, and it made up for the disappointment that was GOT.
12. who is your favorite actor in 4?
Amy Adams was absolutely mesmerising and deserves every award for this.
13. which do you prefer, 1, 2, or 5?
They are all different shows, if I had to watch a show for the plot I’d pick the Expanse, though.
14. which show have you seen more episodes of, 1 or 3?
The Expanse already has 3 seasons, so...
15. if you could be anyone from 4, who would you be?
Good question. Camille’s chef maybe? At least he hasn't part in any murder or lives in Wind Gap :D
16. would a crossover between 3 and 4 work?
Jean-Marc Vallée would say so.
17. pair two characters in 1 that would make an unlikely but strangely okay couple
Naomi/Drummer is a ship I can get behind.
18. overall, which story has the better storyline, 3 or 5?
The first season of BLL is great, and the second season isn’t bad either. The 100 has been quite the up-and-down lately, and I might have quit if not for some of the characters.
19. which has the better theme music, 2 or 4?
Sharp Objects has a great intro, yet there’s nothing more iconic than the ST theme.

Thursday, July 12
On Tuesday, the sun came out, giving us a warm start to our morning gonggu and class routine at the Yucai School.  After a delicious Sichuan-style lunch at a local restaurant, we hoped in a bus and headed straight to the Tiananmen Square in the heart of Beijing.
Tiananmen Square was designed and built in 1651, and has since been enlarged by four times its original size in the 1950s, making it one of the largest public squares in the world.  Named after the Tiananmen Gate (天安门 “Gate of Heavenly Peace”) located to its north, and separating it from the Forbidden City, the square contains the Monument to the People’s Heroes and the Mausoleum of Mao Zedong, and is flanked by the Great Hall of the People (China’s “Congress”) and the National Museum of China (similar to Washington’s Smithsonian) to the east and west. On October 1, 1949, Mao stood atop the Tiananmen Gate and officially proclaimed the founding of the People’s Republic of China to an onlooking crowd of more than one million observers; the anniversary of this event is still observed there.
After crossing the square, we joined dozens of other travelers sweating in the mid-day heat to cross underneath the 1.5 ton, iconic portrait of Mao that has hung above the Tiananmen Gate since 1949, to head toward the Forbidden City.
The Forbidden city was the Chinese imperial palace from 1420 to 1912, and served as the home of emperors and their households as well as the ceremonial and political center of the Chinese government for almost 500 years under the Ming and Qing dynasties.
Constructed between 1406 and 1420, the same time as the Temple of Heaven which we visited our first day, the complex consists of nearly 1000 buildings and covers an area of 180 acres. The palace complex exemplifies traditional Chinese palatial architecture and is the largest collection of preserved ancient wooden structures in the world.
Because of its size, the palace can take hours to truly explore.  We split up into two groups to complete a photo scavenger hunt, designed to have each group focus on a different aspect of the Forbidden City, such as Forbidden City architecture, or the Forbidden City as the seat of Chinese power.  The hunt helped guide the students to look at the palace from different angles.
We’ll be back to the square later this summer to visit some of the other prominent sites surrounding it.

Okay looking over some plans I have for Artfight, I may get started on doing refs for my characters as early as this month Just so I don’t get burned out right before July and then have no energy to attack anyone XD
Realistically, I’m gonna have like 8-13 characters, possibly more if I have the time/energy but to be honest that involves digging up some older OCs I don’t care for that much just to fill space and tbh 8-13 is a good number to be at anyways so I’ll just focus on them
Oh ye my account is here and I’m slowly but surely updating it
Planned Characters involve:
DND
Corren*
Mao*
Nikolaos
Switch
Nylian
Ray(possibly)
FNaF
Scott/Red*
Kiki*
Alix*
Stardew Valley
Snumbus*
Maverick
Minecraft
Mirin
Other
Colorless*
Artfightsona* (to be designed once teams are announced and my team is picked)
Narr(possibly)
Hersh(possibly)
* = already have a character, but need an updated ref/icon/etc
I have... my work cut out for me XD

Tumblr media
4-Domenica del Corriere, 27 febbraio 1968; 5-The New York Times Magazines, 22 September 1968; 6-Lo Specchio, 1 settembre 1968
Tumblr media
7- Time, July 25, 1969
Tumblr media
9-Guido Crepax, L’astronave pirata, Milano, Rizzoli, 1968; 10-Linus, giugno 1968; 11-Re nudo, aprile-maggio 1968
Tumblr media
12-Time, July 7, 1967
Cosa aspettate? Avete ancora tempo fino al 14 luglio. Per tutte le informazioni potete cliccare qui.

#personal
Every morning at seven am for the last five years possibly, my email has rung.  Three emails exactly.  All of them daily reports I created on a CRM platform called Salesforce.  Incidentally, the drummer of Metallica lives next to the founder or something.  They played a keynote one year.  My friend Chad who used to work with us attended.  He later told a close friend in passing that I was an institution in and of itself.  As of Thursday at nine am, a block descended from the sky out of nowhere.  I was let go on a video call with my CIO and human resources.  My CIO showed up first.  I had no idea what was happening.  I congratulated him on his Nike shirt.  He seemed taken aback but thanked me.  The woman from HR entered the call shortly thereafter.  We all know the rest.  This morning at seven am, there was a new email.  In a tough scramble I had spent the entire two days trying to uncouple everything.  All my professional email over the years completely gone.  I had made the mistake of wrapping my identity too closely with my job.  This could be expected of a place that I was on twenty four seven call for the last three years.  But I didn’t expect to be downsized.  Especially when I heard time and time again that the work we did was essential.  What was essential was the phone I picked up at the Verizon store late yesterday.  I walked the entire way from home there.  The immediate effect I wanted to project was that I would survive.  And the immediate reality was that after Thursday ended and the holiday began, my support system had made itself known.  And there were huge portions of my life missing.  People who maybe cared.  But if you cared that much you’d find a way to reach me.  I know this because I cared deeply about someone enough to reach them.  And the utter shame I feel losing a job has really made me think more about what I already have.  It seems like I lost everything.  And yet I have a severance package and a large decision to make about some other financial windfalls.  Truthfully I made these decisions already last night by myself in my vintage armchair from the alley.  The same alley I came home to my neighbors jovially laughing as I passed by.  Something about if you are punk you’ll be ok.
For the record, I’m punk as fuck.  You can’t take that away from me.  You can’t take what I did.  What I learned.  Who I helped.  Who I can still help.  You can take away my job but I’ve already been interviewing in broad daylight every day of my life.  You can’t really take away the value of a person you never treated as meaningful in any sort of way.  You can’t brainwash me into thinking the stuff you preach is actually anything other than a front for something else.  And this is the nature of being punk.  It’s not easy having your scene credibility diced in half year after year.  You’ve heard me whine and cry year after year.  And now if you ask the rest of Chicago that I see on a daily, you’d be shocked I was the same person.  I’m not personally sensitive to anything.  I still do believe in a cause.  The last act I did at work is encourage the decision to change an icon to represent pride.  This was on the last day of pride.  I was fired on July 1st.  My ID expired on Juneteenth.  I received multiple messages from security reminding me of such.  I told my boss and close friend for years I loved her.  Truth be told, she told a friend behind my back that she was proud of how I stepped up.  I can’t really tell right now if she was let go as well.  Because per my signature line at work for years “I don’t know anything.”  And for the record I am completely in the dark as I sit hit by myself on this holiday.  Wondering a lot of things.  And owning a lot more.  When you’re cut loose and wandering the city, it reminds you of when you really were free.  For me it was a month long trip to Korea.  Sometimes those were constant and episodic.  They simmered down to a frequent exploration of New York.  Every one of those vacations I was hounded  by my job.  On the phone and possibly otherwise.  But I was away from the tendrils I thought.  And days like this when you are absolutely severed it makes you wonder.  Why I was so angry.  What was making me so sick to my stomach.  How the girl I like halfway across the globe would wink from what seemed a galaxy away.  How the very thought of her kept me sane.  Kept me inspired to focus on the chance to be someone she would be proud of.  How I dreamt her computer was really in the airplay bar.  And for awhile your name was above all others in the airport bar.  A clear line separating you and I from everybody else.  Your macbook pro I never dared share anything to.  I let it sit there on my own macbook with a terminal open.  Silently logging every single mac address attached to your messages.
I took those to be messages of friendship.  You know I love you more than I could ever say.  And those experiences are all I have from that time that I care about.  Whether it was true or not.  Whether it was some social experiment or psychological torture to manipulate my absolute love for you unconditionally.  I don’t know.  But for the record,  I’m punk as fuck and I’m sure you appreciate it.  I wrote you letters for years.  You heard my pain.   You couldn’t really ever say anything and this I understood.  Or came to know in my fragmented reality.  Surrounded by lie after lie after lie.  The only thing I believed in was you.  You’re still up on my wall.  An office that will be a job to clear out in and of itself.  If the stuff isn’t just thrown out already.  I feel like I lost it all.  I feel nothing but shame.  Shame to be manipulated in an election year on the fourth of July.  Shame my Mao poster is still in the office because I stood with the people of China first and foremost as a friend.  I wanted you to always know I stood up for you.  I flew to Shanghai on a joke.  Just to say hi.  I love China.  I love South Korea too.  Japan.  The list goes on.  And it shows in my life by the friends who stand by me.  I would love to end the story saying my crush ultimately crushed me.  But my crush taught me the most valuable lesson in life.  That I am a person who deserves to be loved.  We all do.  We all desperately want to connect.  We feel isolated.  This can be manipulated.  People on the internet know deeply how I feel about inclusion.  How deeply I care about accountability and conduct in all avenues of my life.  And people probably already know more than I do about where I’m headed.  All I really know is I’m ok.  I’ll be ok.  My purple fucking iphone 11 that bothers me like a lost dog at 7am in the morning missing my report notifications knows I’ll be ok.  And yet here I sit crying as I write this alone.  Because I’m not ok.  I’m not afraid.  I’m traumatized.  I’m in shock.  I feel it was symbolic.  That’s the yawn of the joke.  One that I don’t fully understand but is mine now to own.  The truth is I put my blood, sweat and tears into a vision for education for twenty years.  I worked for a non profit and had the salary to prove it.  That’s the lowest I’m willing to go.  And that statement is a liberating one after feeling treatment that feels the lowest.  That’s business right?  I understand the business.  I am a professional.  And I can say the package I will be offered when I can figure out a way to contact who I need to contact via email are fairly generous.  The algorithms are like ghosts in my new inbox.  Knowing full well my real potential.  And somewhere out there with your face pressed deeply into your phone I know.  You know I’ll be ok.  And this is the best thing for people like us.  I have some time and space to process.  And I have you.  All of you.  But especially you.  I love you and promise to keep it punk as fuck.  One tonal mistake at a time. <3 Tim

By clicking HERE you will be taken to a mediafire download for #715 icons of Florence Faivre from the series “The Expanse.” These icons were made by me and have been cropped to 200x100 and have been slightly sharpened but are otherwise unedited.  They have not been sorted for usability or clarity, only for face claim.
You can find the unsorted icons for this series (if they exist) by clicking HERE  and you can find the unsorted caps for this series (if they exist) by by clicking HERE.  You can find all the sorted icons I have of this face claim by clicking HERE.
