I have literally never encountered a sport that has a higher percentage of queer people than jugger, it's so beautiful to just walk around during a tournament a see a bunch of people walking around with pride flags, this community is amazing

I was given the opportunity to make a recruitment poster for the Juggers of Wasteland Weekend!

I missed doing chaotic compositions so this was a doozy to draw.

The design of the mascot was originated by my bud suiteddevil!

Alien Legion: Grimrod by Chuck Dixon and Mike McMahon. 1992 one shot featuring the Legion's most popular and bad-tempered character. While I still liked some of his cover work I was less keen on Mike's/Mick's interior artwork at this point.

Jugger's fellow legionnaires shown are Mik, Rik and Nik, natives of a planet in the Ruxpin system. Epic Comics | Marvel.

The Salute of the Juggers /The Blood of Heroes (1989) // David Webb Peoples

I like B movies for many reasons. One of the reasons is the probability of coming across something truly fresh and original. Small budgets breed practical skills along with mastery at set design, costume and editing. This one is a great little flick and it has more that you'd imagine.

There are two versions of the film. One (The Salute) is reported to be longer and more sombre in tone. The other (The Blood) is a nice underdog story with positive feelings. I searched the former for few years and finally caved in and watched the latter.

There are some production stories about the initial scope of the project and not-so-little budget. Apparently this one was shot as a more lavish film with deeper characterisations and a bigger cast. Some of the original footage was thrashed in the editing room. So the bizarre feeling of a closely orchestrated small film is not unwarranted.

I seek films like this. Naturally, It's an acquired taste but I recommend the Salute/The Blood...

(Let me know if you're familiar with the Salute version. I'm curious)
