Alien Legion: Grimrod by Chuck Dixon and Mike McMahon. 1992 one shot featuring the Legion's most popular and bad-tempered character. While I still liked some of his cover work I was less keen on Mike's/Mick's interior artwork at this point.

I was given the opportunity to make a recruitment poster for the Juggers of Wasteland Weekend!

I missed doing chaotic compositions so this was a doozy to draw.

The design of the mascot was originated by my bud suiteddevil!

When Joe Sheer asks for his help in a moment of desperation in 1965, Parker thinks of the ways men in his profession are meant to behave and can't comprehend how unlike himself Joe sounds when breaking these unspoken rules -- asking for help and offering to pay for it, not playing the cards he'd been dealt because after all "a man was what the world decided he would be". Nearly ten years later, when Parker frantically asks fellow heisters for help after Grofield had been kidnapped and offers to pay them for it, he's told just how unlike himself he sounds (he'd never done "anything but play the hand [he] was dealt") and he decides none of it matters as much as coming to Grofield's rescue does.
