what’s your least favorite book/series from tsc

I think technically my least favorite series would be The Eldest Curses. Trosm was a fun romp in my memory (I did read it back when it came out so) but like 3 details stuck with me and I very recently read The Lost Book of the White and thought it was just okay. Generally the things I liked most in these books/what made them worthwhile were side plots of other chars that had little to nothing to do with Malec… would say The Lost Book of the White is my least favorite book too rn if there’s a tmi book I dislike more then it’s been too long for me to say, and I definitely enjoy all the other main books and each short story collection more than it.

Of just the four primary series my instinct would be to say TMI is my least favorite but also it has admittedly been a while so maybe if I revisited the nostalgia would kick in and I wouldn’t feel that way anymore… both TMI and TLH have elements I really like and elements that are frustrating to me I’d say but in very different ways but the overall cast of chars and vibe in TLH is more appealing to me I think. (again my documented preference as a TID&TDA stan when it comes to this verse is Strong obviously lol)

TDA is the series where I love all of the mains/major chars I’m meant to like so none of them are candidates TDA gang you will always be loved by me <3 but in terms of minor chars I’m meant to like Jaime Rosales gives me bad vibes.

TLH it’s not nearly to the extent of hate or even real dislike but I’m not a fan of Jesse or James they both mostly bore me, but I do enjoy James in the context of Jordelia whereas Lucie x Jesse leaves me cold (I’m firm in my Lucie should be a lesbian stance <3) so Jesse.

in TDA again I love all the primary couples for this series I’m supposed to root for but the tease of something with Dru/Jaime in TWP makes me uncomfortable tbh but I know I’m not the only one who feels that way and Judith has become more reactive to criticism over the years so I can only hope she snipes the idea.

in TLH again Lucie x Jesse like the concept of their romance is so good but the actual thing fell flat to me and again Lucie should have been a lesbian and her and Grace should have kissed peace and love <3

Musical streams are back! We’ve taken 5 weeks off, but now we’re back! Last time we streamed for 39 weeks in on Kosmi, this time I’m streaming them directly in my europeanmusicals Discord server. This change in streaming platform is because Kosmi didn’t accept a lot of video types and so I couldn’t stream certain musicals, but I will be able to stream those musicals through Discord.

Streams take place on Saturdays at 9pm UK time (BST/GMT depending on daylight savings). Some may be postponed by a week if I’m away. Not all have English subtitles so check below. More musicals may be added. Any updates will be posted on Discord. We are watching musicals that we did not watch in the first 30 weeks. If there’s a musical missing you want to see, let me know, we may have already watched it but we’re okay with re-watching musicals. Amazon steps up diversity hiring, adds ex-PepsiCo CEO Indra Nooyi to board

Companies News:

In what appears to be Amazon's effort in increasing gender diversity among directors, the technology giant appointed former PepsiCo chief executive officer (CEO) Indra Nooyi to its board. According to the company's regulatory filing, Nooyi will also join the audit committee of the board, reported Reuters.

"On February 25, 2019, the Board of Directors of Amazon.com, Inc. (the “Company”) elected Indra K Nooyi as a director of the company, and also appointed her to the audit committee of the board," Amazon wrote in an 8-K SEC regulatory filing.

Nooyi's appointment comes soon after Amazon added former Starbucks chief operating officer Rosaling Brewer to its board earlier this month, the second African-American to serve on its board. The company now has five women — Nooyi, Brewer, Jamie Gorelick, Judith McGrath and Patricia Stonesifer — on its 11-member board.

In May 2017, Amazon adopted a proposal to apply the National Football League policy — the Rooney Rule — that requires teams to consider minority candidates, reported CNN.

Nooyi, who was born in India, is the second high-profile addition to Amazon's board. She had stepped down as PepsiCo's CEO in October 2018 after a 24-year-tenure at the snack and beverage company. She had served as the company's CEO from 2006 to 2018. Prior to becoming the CEO, Nooyi had served as the company's chief financial officer. She had also spearheaded the company's efforts to focus on healthier food and snacks. She was among a handful of women of colour leading a Fortune 500 company.

Nooyi has also served as a director on the board of oilfield services provider Schlumberger since April 2015.

Investigadores del ITD recibieron el reconocimiento como miembros del SNI

En el marco de la celebración del XXV Aniversario del Consejo de Ciencia y Tecnología del Estado de Durango, investigadores del Instituto Tecnológico de Durango (ITD), del Tecnológico Nacional de México (TecNM), recibieron el reconocimiento como miembros del Sistema Nacional de Investigadores (SNI).

José Rosas Aispuro Torres, Gobernador del Estado, acompañado por la titular del Consejo, Juliana Morales Castro, hizo la entrega del Premio Estatal de Ciencia, Tecnología e Innovación, manifestado que el objetivo es estimular las actividades sobre investigación científica tecnológica de calidad, visibilizando el trabajo en el apoyo y fomento de las actividades en formación de capital humano y la vocación científica.

Atestiguando la entrega de reconocimientos y estímulos económicos, estuvieron presentes, el secretario de Educación, Rubén Calderón Luján, el presidente del Tribunal Superior de Justicia, Ramón Guzmán Benavente, Mario Garza Escobosa, secretario del Ayuntamiento, en representación del presidente Municipal y exdirectores del COCyTED.

Los miembros de la comunidad técnica que se hicieron acreedores a los reconocimientos son:

Arranca en Juárez programa “Internet para todos” en beneficio de escuelas de educación básica*****Entregará SEyD equipo para conectividad a Internet a más de mil planteles en el estado; en Ciudad Juárez se atendieron 709 instituciones educativas

La Secretaría de Educación y Deporte (SEyD) inició en Ciudad Juárez, la entrega de equipo para conectividad digital, a escuelas de Educación Básica de la entidad, como parte del programa "Internet para Todos", auspiciado por la Comisión Federal de Electricidad (CFE).

Presidieron esta entrega simbólica, efectuada en instalaciones de la Primaria Leona Vicario No. 2563, el titular de la dependencia estatal, Javier González Mocken, y el subsecretario de Educación Básica de la SEyD.

González Mocken informó que con estas acciones se beneficiará a más de mil planteles educativos en el estado: 709 de Ciudad Juárez, 300 de Chihuahua, 16 de Guerrero, 13 de Saucillo, 10 de Meoqui y 6 de Namiquipa.

También se verán beneficiadas 4 escuelas en los municipios de La Cruz y Cuauhtémoc, 3 en Bachíniva y Camargo, así como 2 en Matachí, Julimes y San Francisco de Conchos, mientras que en Rosales y Aquiles Serdán tendrán una escuela con este equipo de conectividad.

El funcionario estatal comentó que este programa arranca de forma inmediata por encomienda de la gobernadora Maru Campos Galván, quien fijó como tarea primordial la atención a instituciones educativas, tras el abandono en el que fueron encontradas al inicio de la actual administración estatal.

“Con la pandemia hemos aprendido todos que la conectividad es un factor determinante para podernos comunicar entre nosotros, así como con nuestros alumnos y alumnas, para seguir trabajando en el sector educativo”, expresó.

Precisó que el equipo se compone principalmente de un módem y una antena marca Huawei que solo podrá funcionar dentro del plantel educativo en donde se instala, lo que asegura el uso exclusivo por parte de estudiantes, docentes y demás personal escolar.

Alejandro Flores, alumno de la Primaria Leona Vicario, agradeció a la SEyD, a nombre de la comunidad estudiantil el apoyo recibido.

Además del equipo de conectividad, se entregaron paquetes con útiles escolares para el total de estudiantes de este plantel educativo, ubicado en la colonia Río Bravo Waterfill.

En el evento se contó con la presencia de Sandra Gutiérrez Fierro, directora general de Servicios Educativos del Estado de Chihuahua (SEECH); Judith Soto Moreno, subsecretaria de Educación y Deporte en la Zona Norte; Bernardo Valdez Talamantes, coordinador de Educación Zona Norte; y Silvia Herrada, directora de la primaria. José Emilio Hernández Martín es el ganador del Premio Nacional de Dramaturgia Joven Gerardo Mancebo del Castillo Trejo 2021

Entre otros beneficios, el premio considera la publicación del texto por parte del Programa Cultural Tierra Adentro, así como la producción y programación de la obra en el Foro La Gruta en 2022

La Secretaría de Cultura federal, a través del Centro Cultural Helénico y el Programa Cultural Tierra Adentro, celebra al dramaturgo José Emilio Hernández Martín, quien gracias a su obra Las visiones ha sido elegido el ganador de la 21ª edición del Premio Nacional de Dramaturgia Joven Gerardo Mancebo del Castillo Trejo 2021.

Tras una minuciosa revisión de las 84 postulaciones provenientes de diversos estados de la república, los jurados asesores deliberaron a favor de Las visiones, de José Emilio Hernández Martín. Cabe destacar que el comité de selección estuvo conformado por la dramaturga Isabel Quiroz, y los dramaturgos Hugo Alfredo Hinojosa y David Gaitán —estos últimos, Miembros del Sistema Nacional de Creadores de Arte 2020-2023—.

Las visiones narra las andanzas de Ramón Llanes, un revolucionario que abandona a Margarita Macías, el amor de su vida, para irse a buscar a Pancho Villa. En el camino conoce a Atanasio Robles, con quien recorrerá los caminos en busca del mítico líder de la División del Norte. Margarita, por otro lado, en compañía de su hermana Catalina Macías, emprende otro tipo de búsqueda, quizá más importante que la primera. El autor de esta intrigante historia explica: “Mi obra trata sobre las peripecias de los personajes masculinos, pero también acerca de la historia de amor que atraviesa el tiempo entre Ramón y Margarita”. De acuerdo con el comité de selección, la obra galardonada fue elegida por unanimidad dado que se trata de un texto con un aliento épico, con sentido del humor limpio, con un toque trágico y poético, entre otras características.

Conforme a lo establecido en la convocatoria, el reconocimiento a la obra seleccionada considera su publicación por parte del Programa Cultural Tierra Adentro, además de la producción y programación de la obra en el Foro La Gruta durante el 2022, siguiendo los protocolos para el cuidado de la salud. La Secretaría de Cultura federal, el Centro Cultural Helénico y el Programa Cultural Tierra Adentro reconocen a los finalistas Bruno Iñaki Rosales Villarreal, Judith Roldán Camacho, Marcelo Treviño y Valeria Fabbri por la calidad de sus textos y por el profesionalismo mostrado durante el proceso de perfeccionamiento dramatúrgico.
