“Hi, Y/N! Welcome to Pawlicious!” A young lady - Aeri - welcomes you in the cat café.

The café was decorated with Christmas decorations everywhere and their new special menu was on display, so you ordered a Hot Waffle with chocolate syrup and a candy cane coffee - your favorite order for Christmas. The personnel knew you well enough to speak to you informally, so your order was usually already done because of your weekly Saturday visits with your cat, Snowy.

You also knew the majority of the customers, so you saluted each one of them, including their cats. You then go to your table, but right when you want to sit down, you see a man sitted on your place. You huff and touch his shoulder, making the man look at you. His brown eyes were cat-like, a tiny button nose and a sharp jaw, his beauty making you forget for a few seconds that he was occupying your place.

“Is there any problem?” The man spoke before you, making you.

“Uh, yeah.” You come back to reality. “I wanted to say that this is my table-”

“Does it write somewhere that this is your table?” He interrupts you.

“I- No, why would it-”

“Exactly.” He interrupts you again. “Now, if you want to sit down at this table, you can, I don't have any problem with it. But me and the kids” he points to his three cats “won't move.” He says, finishing with an annoying - and beautiful - smirk. You huff, rolling your eyes, but, since he said that he won't move and that you can stay at the table, however, you sat in the opposite corner of the small table. Snowy meows, trying to beg for your attention and so, she sits down in your lap. You smile and catch a glimpse of the man's smile as he sees your cat.

“Her name is Snowy.” You quietly said as you patted the pet, allowing him to pet her as well. The cat purrs and makes both of you chuckle.

“They are Soonie, Doongie and Dori.” He points to the three sleeping cats around him. You smile at them. “And… I'm Minho.”

“I'm Y/N.” You say as well, smiling towards him. “Nice to meet you-”

“Oh, and sorry for being a… dick, before. I tend to pre-judge people and I thought you-”

“Don't worry.” You give him a smile.

You give in to the temptation of continuing the conversation between you and Minho, sometimes being interrupted by one of your cats. Honestly, you really felt a connection with the man before you, as the conversation went from cats to hobbies and what you did for work. As the clock striked 3 pm, you decided it was best for you to leave. The action saddened both you and him, not mentioning the cats who were playing all together in the corner of the cafe.

“Hey mystery man!” You say as you come right in front of your table, the next week. Minho was sitting in the same spot as last week, smiling as you greeted him. He wouldn’t tell you this, but he did it on purpose, wanting to talk to you more.

“Hey pretty stranger.” He smiles, making you blush from the compliment, immediately looking somewhere else, for the blush to not be so visible to him. He gestures to take a seat and you immediately agree. “Sip.” He simply says, giving you his own order.

“But it’s-”

“Mine? No, it’s yours.” He smiles, slightly petting your hand. “See?” He shows you the candy cane coffee, hot and warm, making you smile.

“You really got this… only for me?” You blush, shying away from his gaze - failing to see his red ears and shy smile as well.

“Of course not, i- it was just that I remembered you sometimes come by and I also like this coff-”

“Thank you, Min.” You smile and stop his blabber, making him look at you. He almost choked on his Christmas coffee as well, eyes widened and blush across his face - all because of a nickname. He starts smiling like an idiot, but immediately brings himself together when Soonie and Snowy purr at his leg.

Two years. Two wonderful years since you and the mystery man, whose name is Lee Minho, have met. Two years since you and him became friends and started hanging out together. Two years since you had the fattest crush on your friend - that you were sure he only saw you as a friend. Every Saturday, you’d meet him at Pawlicious, with the cats. Snowy and you even found yourself at his apartment oftenly, for the cats to have some time to play, while you and Minho watched movies. You went with him to camping trips and even met his parents - a very normal thing to do between friends, right? - and met all of his friends, as he met yours. The world in which you and Minho lived was so peaceful that sometimes, you'd wish for a change. Not a big one, since, for you, the overstep of the boundaries between friends wasn't so far away. However, your insecurities and your fear of screwing up what you both had got to you, so you prefer to sit and only be his friend - no matter how painful it would have been.

It’s currently 24th december and it found you, again, in Minho’s arms, watching a sickening rom-com that you both agreed watching on this special night. Nothing compared to this tradition - although, some were pretty close - because of the intimacy it held. You often tried to not think about it, at least not when he was around, but you just couldn't stop thinking about how this would become a thing if you and him were… more.

“What's on your mind, pretty?” He asks, stroking your hair while you both cuddle.

“I- it's nothing really.” You smile.

“Hmm, I have known you for 2 years already, what's going on?” He puts a stop to the terrible Christmas rom-com and looks up at you. The strokes have stopped and his face is serious.

“I…” You try to think of something to say, but right then, Doongie jumps on Minho's lap, redirecting his attention to him. You sigh in relief.

“Don't think the talk is over, sweetheart.” He says, still patting the cat. You roll your eyes and go to the bathroom, trying to get some time before the man before you will make the truth reveal itself - the last thing you wanted to happen, really. Sure, you have some hopes that he'll be reasonable and won't break the friendship because, afterall, it's just a crush, you'll try to fight it - but losing Minho's friendship, no. Losing Minho would be the shittiest thing ever and you wouldn't want it to happen, not even in a million years. So, you think of inventing some guy - maybe one of your co-workers - to say that you have a crush. Sure, a big lie, but if it won't mean breaking the friendship, you'll say it. You sometimes think that maybe, he also feels the same, but there are too many thoughts that present you the version you wouldn't want - the one of him not reciprocating the feelings, the one that would leave you broken.

You leave the bathroom eventually to find the living room empty. He probably is in the kitchen feeding the kitties. So you lay down on the couch, taking your phone out to find a message from Minho.

My mean hoe: I'm outside.

My mean hoe: Come please.

My mean hie: The kitties are with me and we have a special surprise :)

You smile, leaving a comment with a smiley face, then turning your phone off. Putting your beanie on, one of the pairs of shoes you have at his, a scarf and one of his warmer jackets, you exit the apartment, not forgetting the keys. You take the elevator down and then you start searching for them. That's when you see the paw trail on the white snow and you recognize it as being Snowy's. Next to them are three other pairs of paw trails. Soonie, Doongie and Dori's. You follow them, curiosity written all over your face.

The trails get you to the Pawlicious café. But they can't be inside, the café is closed. So you just stay there, smiling in the direction of the table you firstly met Minho.

“Hey, lost kitty.” Minho says behind you, wrapping his arms around your waist. A blush creeps out on both of your faces, but none of you sees the other's face.

“Hi, pretty kitty.” You say, directing your gaze to Minho, only to see his red ears. ”Min?” You ask, thinking that his ears are freezing.

“Yeah?” He purrs.

“Are you cold? Your ears are red..?”

“I… am not.” He smiles and his arms hold you even tighter. “I… That's… uhm..”

“Hm.. they are hot.. so, you're not cold.” You notice.

“I.. I am not.” He whispers. “Hey, uhm, don't you want to know what your present is?” He asks, a smile slipping on his face.

You nod, smiling as well. He takes your hand and gets you behind the café. Your curious look makes Minho chuckle under his breath, but you immediately hit him - not enough to hurt him - and he stops, only remaining a smile. He puts a hand over your eyes, earning a huff from you.

“Shh, stay quiet for a bit.” He tells you.

Five minutes later, he takes his hand off your eyes. You are immediately met up with some beautiful lights, two cups of hot chocolate and a blanket on the little bench next to you. You smile, letting his hand slightly go as he stands right beside you.

“Min, you didn't have to-”

“Well, I mean… it's not entirely for you.” He jokes, rolling his eyes. “Uhm.. this is where I'll… Uhm.. Wait.” He looks around, finding Dori. He takes his cat in his arms and passes him to your arms. You smile as he purrs, but immediately notice a letter being attached to his collar.

”My dear Y/N,

I don't exactly know how to tell you this, but I have to be honest to you. Remember the day I sat at your table and then, we soon started talking. I wasn't a complete stranger to the café, to be honest. I've seen you one day and immediately liked you. Your gentleness, your way of doing things and your looks… You immediately put me under a spell. I want to thank you for all these years and I know that what I'm about to say might interfere with our friendship, but if I don't say it, I don't know how much longer I'll be able to bear it. I'm in love with you. there, I said it. I can't say exactly why, other than the pure reason that it's you. there's always a feeling I get whenever you're around me, whenever I feel your skin. I want to be your boyfriend and you to be my girlfriend. Everything has felt so heavy lately. Your arms, you legs, your head, your brain- everything feels so dense. It feels like you are melting and not in a good way. Everyone looks at you weird and you can hear the judging whispers behind your back. Your nose was stuffed and your hands were sweaty. But you couldn't take off your layers. You can't stand to be exposed.

It was such a struggle to keep your eyelids open and sit up straight whenever you sat down. How long had you slept today?? Somewhere from twelve to fourteen hours you think but you weren't sure. No matter how much you slept it never got any better. That sleepy sluggishness never went away. You weren't sure when this started or why it started, it just sorta did.

You started noticing little petty, sad things more often. Those depressing articles on the newspaper were suddenly ldrawing your eyes in more often- the whispers of passerbys were suddenly louder. Your dear fiance, Lyney's late arrivals home lately suddenly left you feeling lonelier for some reason. You knew he wasn't cheating on you, although you know he has his own secrets of which he is entitled, he would never stoop to something as low as that. He was just working overtime again which stressed you out like it would any respectable future wife/husband. Maybe that's what gotten to you.

You shifted in the cotton covers of your bed to your other side, sniffing. This sickness had stuck with you for an entire month. It wasn't the worst thing in the world, but you did struggle to eat sometimes. You hadn't actually thrown up, but sometimes you just couldn't stomach the thought of food and after eating you felt like you would.

You had only left the bed once today to go to the market and purchase something for Lyney. You can't even remember what it is you bought or why you felt the sudden urge to go get him something but you do remember you left it on his night stand. He hadn't really done anything super spectacular lately but he was always so sweet and kind to you so you suppose the guilt and need to do something just built up over time. You had always been pretty bad about that, feeling guilty. Like you weren't doing enough or that you weren't good enough. Especially for Lyney. You still can't believe he asked you to marry him.

(("Hello? My love are you awake?"))

You must have been thinking too loudly and your thoughts summoned him because his voice and the creaking of the door pierced the once silent room.

(("Oh my, at least tell me you've left bed to feed yourself today!"))

Lyney said as he stepped in the room to opened the curtains much to your dismay after setting his magician's hat on your nightstand,

(("Don't open the curtains the sun is my worst enemy."))

You mutter as you grab a pillow and hide you head under it.

(("Well good afternoon to you too (N/N)!"))

He chuckled as he headed over to your shared closet, changing into a much more comfortable outfit.

(("Got you something at the market, s' on your nightstand Lyn."))

You lazily pointed to the nightstand, head still hidden under the pillow.

(("Oh? What could I have done recently that was so superb that my dear (Y/N) got out of bed and left the house to fetch me a reward?"))

Lyney teased as he pulled a white oxford over his head, buttoning the last couple buttons up.

You muttered while shifting sides again. You felt the weight of the bed shift and the pillow raise from your head. A pair of cheeky lavender eyes gleaned at you paired with a wide, Cheshire smile, Lyney's smile.

(("There's that gorgeous face~!"))

You felt yourself growing more tired by the second, almost like Lyney was sucking your energy away or something. Either way you were too tired to even verbally respond so you just lazily blinked at him and hoped he could read your mind.

(("My, did you use up all your energy going out? Love, as much as I am proud of you for leaving the house and grateful for you generosity, you simply cannot wear yourself out!"))

Lyney chided as he caressed your cheek which you gladly accepted,

(("It's just as bad for you to use up all your energy at once as it is for you to sit in bed all day and do nothing! Oh my, this is probably my fault for coming home so late recently..."))

The blonde fretted and frowned,

(("I know! I haven't any shows for the next 2 weeks seeing as they are repairing our usual stage, so I shall spend the whole of those 2 weeks with you helping you back to your feet!"))

He beamed so radiantly it was almost annoying. Keyword, almost. Lyney could never actually be annoying to you. You still groaned and hid your face under the pillow again to hide yourself from his bright attitude much to his amusement though.

Lyney kicked off his shoes and stretched himself, yawning.

(("Well I suppose I am tired too so a nap can't hurt, right? But when I wake up I expect you to get up with me for some dinner love! Think you can do that for me?"))

His amethyst eyes stared into your lazy (e/c) ones, how could you deny him any request when he looks at you like that? You lazily shook your head yes and he smiled brightly before pulling you in for some cuddles.

It was gonna take some time, but Lyney was determined to pull you out of this funk you've gotten yourself into no matter how long it takes. After all, he does loves you.

PERSONA 5 TACTICA IS NOT GREAT: A VERY ODDLY-CONSTRUCTED RANT

Pt. 3: This Is Not My Jam

Originally, I was gonna talk about the gameplay next, but I realized that in order for my argument of it to make sense, be accurate and fair, I'm currently stuck in a rather long bit of "research", so to speak. So, for the time being, I'll move on to my next complaint that doesn't require extensive comparisons, which I hope to be short and sweet: The music!

....it's very forgettable-

OKAY! Like I said from the beginning: I'm not here to judge people's tastes! If you enjoyed the music, that's great! Flippin', blast that crap while doing a power study at 3am all you want, I ain't stopping you (except for your neighbors likely filing noise complaints).

But, for me personally, they just didn't click with me.

As of me writing this, I had JUST listened to the full version of the opening theme ('Revolution In Your Heart'), and have immediately forgotten most of how it goes. Not to be harsh, but it sounds like someone trying to write what they think a Persona 5 song sounds like. It just doesn't have the *oomph* factor that would classify it as a Persona 5 song to me.

It doesn't have the high energy of 'Wake Up, Get Up, Get Out There'.

It doesn't have the excitement of 'Colors Flying High'.

It doesn't have the motivational feeling of 'You Are Stronger'.

Unlike those openers, Tactica's opening theme doesn't give me that feeling - the feeling of wanting to move, and not just in dance. It doesn't get me hyped to play a game, where I'm overthrowing tyrants for the sake of

And the same is sadly true for the rest of the soundtrack.

(Update: Listening to Revolution In Your Heart again made me realize that in comparison to the other openings, Lyn here is getting drowned out by the music. The other openings leave her crisp and distinguishable from the instrumental. I haven't touched it, yet, but the mixing in this game is not very good....)

I'm glad almost everything is original music, apart from this one rendition of 'Beneath The Mask' at the very beginning of the game, as well as - of course - the Velvet Room theme. However, once again, almost none I remember too well and don't sound like Persona 5 songs. And yeah, I know that sounds contradictory to what I just said about liking that we're doing original music, but what I meant by it was that they don't sound like songs that would *come* from a Persona 5 game. It's just....eh.

What makes it most astonishing about all of this, mainly in regards to the battle music, is that unlike P5 or P5S, you'll be listening to these songs for about 5-10 minutes per level due to the nature of Tactica being a tactical rpg, so battles would run longer. And yet, despite P5's and P5S' battles running shorter (as a turn-based rpg and Musuo-styled rpg respectively), I still remember 'Last Surprise', 'Take Over', 'Axe To Grind', and 'What You Wish For'. Once again, I think it comes back to those songs having more energy and oomph in them by comparison.

You could try to make the argument that they probably wouldn't try as hard with the soundtrack due to it being a spinoff game, and to that, I say that that's a bad faith take to make, because A) that's a harsh assumption on the song writers for this game's soundtrack, as much as I dislike it. Looking it up, there's over a hundred tracks for this game, so they'd be obviously busting their butts on this soundtrack. It's just disappointing to me that I myself didn't find it worthwhile to listen to, personally. Besides, I already know there are people out there who disagree with me on this, so on that front, the songwriters succeeded.

And B) have you not listened to a single track from *any* Persona spinoff?

I already talked about some of Striker’s songs, both PQ and PQ2 have bangers in there, especially since they're balancing the song styles from all three modern Persona games due to the nature of them being crossovers, and Arena created themes for every fighter there, and they all fit them and *slap*! I don't include the Dancing games, since they're already based solely around the music, and most are just renditions or remixes of already existing songs.

(God, I just reminded myself of that terrible remix of 'Mass Destruction' they did in 'Dancing Moon Night', and now I have to apologize to the Tactica soundtrack, because its only crime is being just forgettable, unlike....that thing.)

There's only ONE song I remember, albeit, rather repetitive. It's called 'Abyss Of Despair', and it plays when you fight the Eri monster thing. However, there's only *one* reason I remember it: it reminds me SO much of 'Memory' from Undertale.

It's probably just me, but I just wanted to point it out.

But...I don't get it? Apart from the energy, I feel like there's this other "thing" that's missing in these songs. I've been trying to wrack my brain to come up with the explanation. What is the secret ingredient that makes a Persona 5 song *feel* like a Persona 5 song?

So, I've been listening to some tracks from P5, P5R, and P5S to maybe find that secret sauce. And after listening to the openings of all three back-to-back...it hit me.

It's.....

THE VIOLIN!!!

Think about it! A vast majority of P5 tracks have the violin as a major component in it. There are a few exceptions, mainly the palace and jail themes, but I let those pass because they're supposed to represent the rulers of those places, so they themselves would be given specific instruments ('Price's' zurna, my beloved). To me, I feel the Phantom Thieves themselves are represented by the violins in the music, which is why you mainly hear it in their battle tracks and infiltration themes.

You immediately hear it in 'Last Surprise:'

You hear it in 'Life Will Change' about 45 seconds in:

You can hear it in 'Daredevil' a few seconds in:

Hell, I got curious and looked at 'Counter Strike' to see if they had it (for I only recall the electric guitar), only to immediately be hit with that violin:

And going back to the beginning of this post, you can hear it in all of the openings.

All of them, except for Tactica's. And that's when the crux of my argument becomes realized.

I went back, and listened to random tracks on the Tactica soundtrack, and I didn't hear a *single* violin. No even a cello...

Even the songs done by Lyn don't have them ANYWHERE! Not 'Got Your Tail', not 'Inextinguishable', and definitely not 'Truth Or Dare' (I might do a reblog that adds these three Lyn tracks to show it, because I've run out of space, according to meany Tumblr....).

How could they forget the violins???

I get they're trying to go for a more "revolutionary" sound to the music (which is why you hear a lot of marching drums and guitars (mainly of the electric variety) in them. And a low synth, apparently...), but P5 was already about revolution in a sense. It's a bloody synonym to REBELLION, P5's main theme! And even then, they still could've kept the violins to keep the P5 sound. But, they chose not to for reasons that escape me.

So, in conclusion, I'm not big on the soundtrack to Tactica, and my findings have led me to conclude that it's because some lone bandit snuck into Atlus' headquarters, and stole all of their violins. The only thing they had left was little Ami's drumkit, so worked with that.

I have just discovered people make Bang Won x Hwi MVs aaaaaaaa!!!

If you guys loved the whole “tormented young thing with daddy issues and morally ambiguous daddy he sets out to catch and punish” thing of Beyond Evil and The Devil Judge welcome to the same but period edition.

Unlike in those two they are not the main ship but a sort of alternaship and MC is a tragedy not a story of justice achieved so none of it ends well but it was glorious!

When Bang Won went “he’s MY man” about Hwi to the evil minister, voice cracking like a whip, I lost it and I remember that moment so vividly even years ago.

(Side note, MC was the first time I had a MM ship in a kdrama. I shipped both Hwi x Seon Ho AND Hwi x Bang Won. Honestly, that drama was ship extravaganza. I could also see SH x Jurchen assistant whose name escapes me, or if you were into het SH x Yeon and Hwi x Seolhyun. Everyone had chemistry with everyone, made me think of Li Muge’s Heroes - now that I think of it, ZSX and LYN and Baron Chen in Heroes do have similarities to Hwi, SH and Bang Won tho also huge differences.)

PS Jang Hyuk is in the running for most lead roles in a sageuk and oh boy you can tell - you completely buy him as a feudal force of nature who changes a dynasty and society so utterly. Sometimes I ponder if I prefer his Bang Won or Yoo Ah In’s in 6 Flying Dragons and I have no answer (I loved Joo Sang Wook as Bang Won in King of Tears but not as much as those two.)

Actually when it was announced that one of the episodes of Tomorrow & I will be centred around Buddhism and the little snippet we got, I genuinely thought that the episode would only cover the possibility of feeding AI the dharma and growing them to replace monks. But looking at the brand new trailer we just got, I'm really happy to see that the episode might tackle how good deeds can become quantify and making merits are ranked into different levels. I don't have too much expectations but hopefully these episodes will be interesting.

Tomorrow and I premieres December 4 on Netflix.

I <3 judge Lyn Knight because she looks like the textbook definition of "crazy cat lady". You know she has 17 of them and they all have names like "Sir Purrderick Mewmington the Clawful of Kittysburg III" and she makes them little costumes... and they wear them, because they've given up. They've given. up. Her will is stronger than a cat's, and we are lucky she channels it into more cats. Throw 17 back for judge Lyn Knight :))

So I did not know these things and I'm so glad you told me.

She was excellent to watch at the show and even though it was my first cat show it was really clear that she loves and respects cats. She was gentle with all of them, even the tempermental ones and she smiled every time she announced 'best in breed.'

I know that kind of show isn't my usual thing, but I'm very glad that I went.

"Do you really wanna fall in love?"

A sentence can haunt a person; for Kav this meant the constant pestering question on if she'll always run away from commitment.

"Do you really wanna settle down?"

"Do you really wanna find the one?"

One simple question can turn into a spiral of concerns and things that are not easily answered. The first one attacks, the next batters her down, and the next makes her doubt everything about everything.

The uncertainty drives her to try something new - to experience more and more she hadn't experienced before - and take wild risks that others might consider their top fears. Kav's inner turmoil isn't based on those kinds of things.

Emotions were high. This time they started with a swell of intense needs and wants - desires and fantasies mixed with fond memories rediscovered with a sudden flare of intense passion. The feelings Kav craved most intensely were the ones driven by the primal urges to be one with others; they pushed out all other thoughts and self doubts, leaving only what felt right.

The sudden shift in this causes her to crumble and the haunting sentences return with vengeful company, reminding her that's she's the one running away from this questions and cannot blame anyone but herself for the inner struggle she presses down with quick thrills.

"You had that chance to settle down and chickened out."

"All you do is hurt them and get hurt."

"You fell in love and never followed through."

"You are the problem."

"No one will ever pick you first."

She masks again. Big shades to hide constantly dilated eyes and fun accessories to pull the gaze away from the worn down skin. Keep a laced smoke and a pill ready whenever something pops up until she can find her next fix.

In the haze of the fog rolling over an early morning ocean, Kav's mind goes to battle and refuses to let anyone else help. What she's feeling isn't allowed. It makes no sense to keep those emotions, especially here.

"What gives you any right to feel that way right now?"

"You were never going to be enough."

"How can you say you love them then think like this?"

"You're only going to spoil their happiness."

Blue Kisses and a bath was the fix this time. Something to drive away the cycle and remind her where she is and what she wanted when she said yes. The fantasies return. The intense desires flood the room as the water and soaps flood over her lithe body and her imagination makes each wave something more intense. Let herself get lost again so she's ready for what's to come.

It will be fine after this high.

Lyn is a very light sleeper and will wake up at the slightest thing. This is also because she used to have to sleep with one eye open (figuratively) and is still a bit paranoid
