no one in this group wants to be in cmo-mandated group therapy together and half the time the conversation is just tom and chakotay one-upping each other about whose situationship is more tragic/profound/meaningful. chakotay’s like “kathryn threw me in the brig and i still served as her steadfast loyal right hand man” and tom’s like “harry tried to kill me and even as he held that pipe above my head i forgave him” while tuvok occasionally interjects with a quip one-upping chakotay on his relationship with janeway and b’elanna’s sitting in abject mortification thinking about how she’s going to complain to harry about something insensitive tom said about her during this session later. the emh is trying to keep them on track like “people can we please focus on today’s topic: maintaining your self-worth when your situationship would rather die for you than live for you?” but of course they’re ignoring him

it’s a shame voyager doesn’t have a proper therapist but like the emh could at least be conducting weekly support groups for people stuck in a threeway situationship with a martyrship-addicted starfleet officer considering that describes the majority of the senior crew
