My Jet Set Radio New Game Predictions

Here's what i think theyre going to do for the new jet set radio!

They are going to retell the plot of the first JSR and/or Future but with a new coat of paint

There are going to be purchasable DLC graffiti and music packs

the graffiti editor will be even more hostile to human life

Corn is going to die in the first ten minutes of the game

They are introducing a new member of the GGs named "Snorf", and his catchphrase is going to be "It's snorfin' time!"

Pots is finally going to have the fully humanoid body he's always wanted.

yoyo is not going to be in it, they are replacing him with Ecco the Dolphin (This has actually been Confirmed by SEGA!)

You play as a member of Poison Jam this time. you get to chill in da sewers and watch monster movies between levels ^.^

They are going to implement motion controls.

We'll finally get confirmation on which members of the GGs are and aren't furries!

@dailyoyo is going to be working on it :D everyone contgraltulate them for how many sega employees they had to slaughter to get here

Beat will lose both of his arms and get giant horrible frightening mechanical claws as replacements

there will be a sanity meter mechanic!

It will be "Fortnite 2".

There will be a chapter of the game where Beat's headphones go missing and you have to find them! During the entire chapter, there will be no music whatsoever to emphasize Beat's lack of headphones.

there is going to be a 2-hour segment that is just an artsy and inscrutable experimental depiction of yoyo goig into a dissociateive spiral

Hayashi and Onishima will both be in the game, and they're going to be making out sloppy style every time they're onscreen. They won't even function as enemies? They're just a setpiece?

There will be no rival gangs, the entire plot will entail the GGs turning on each other like rabid dogs for ill-defined and petty reasons.

to be innovative and try something different from teh rest of the series, the soundtrack is going to be bad.

Yoyo is going to perish and be consumed by a malevolent warehouse, which will merge with his consciousness.

Bis/Mew/Ryth will have a new name

There's gonna be robot doppelgangers of ALL the ggs! uh oh! theyre all going to die before they get any significant screentime though in order to punish me specifically

There is going to be a minigame where you play as an overworked ordinary Rokkaku Group employee desperately trying to balance the company budget as Gouji continues to pour more money into the Killing Teenagers fund.

New mechanic where you can escape enemies by killing them, but the character you used to do this will go into a crisis over having had to take a fellow human's life at such a young age and the traumatic effects will lower their stats. Pots is immune to this effect

yoyo will get euthanized

There will be a new area named "The Unforgiving Abyss". Grind down the spine of the thousand mile long leviathan who perished within!

Putting here all the JSR AU ideas I have (i'm also giving more detail about ones I already talked about here) :

•It was been around 8 months that Beat went missing, and since the GG's are the ones "causing most of the trouble" in Tokyopolis, the TPPD and Rokkaku Corp. fabricated evidence that they killed her

•Bis, Gum and Cone are the main GG's (Gum being the leader)

•Tokyopolis is mostly connected to via a complex subway line. Some subway stations got abandonned, and one of them is the GG's Hideout.

•There is six rival gangs. First we have, as usual, the Noise Tanks, Poison Jam, the Love Shockers. Then we have three new crews: Devil Claws, (Gyarude crew with no name yet) and (Bug crew with no name yet) (i'll find good names for them eventually)

•There will be two new characters (I need to design them)

I'm already a Bis listener: I haven't updated my last.fm in a while but i listen to them daily. Learned about them from their track Statement Of Intent from JSR. My fav track of theirs is The World Ends Today, though Action and Drama is also very good.

I just listened to that XTC track now - I've never heard anything like this. Very cool.

I'll never understand why during the jsr localisation someone decided to rename bis into mew, even though translating the name directly looks way easier

Also not replacing the screw drawing on her back, which references her original name, despite the fact that her textures were redrawn to change the name

yknow this is just random idle thoughts but honestly i have a hard time thinking of the jsr and jsrf versions of the cast as Distinctly Different characters (with the exception of whatever is up with cube and combo, but i'm chalking that up to the fact og jsr ch2 was a localization thing and not part of the og release). like Okay its two differrnt continuities, diff things happen to them and some aspects of the group dynamic are different, obv, but og jsr is so character-light it's hard to extrapolate ANYTHING about them without veering into making shit up out of whole cloth really fast

and the supplemental character info for og jsr is VERY thin - and doesn't really contradict jsrf, either. like bis/mew/rhyth is definitely trait: devil's advocate in future even though in og canon we'd only know that from a guidebook. imo it makes me feel like the future cast characterizations is more like, yknow, Expanding upon the ideas behind the og jsr cast than it is Making New Versions Of Their Characters. like theyre different timelines of the characters but theyre not Different Characters you feel me. not that future is a Deep, Complex Character-Driven Narrative either but yknow what i mean.

and so its like fascinating to me when ppl characterize the two canons' casts as having differing personalities. wheres it come from? pure vibes? (and then over here with paradox it is So fucking future-based despite being meant to be a combination of the two canons bc of the limited material we're given to work with in the og LMAO)

IDK i tend not to seek out random fancontent and in fact avoid it like the plague bc of my own brain eccentricities but im fascinated by this topic regardless.
