I don't understand people who have been waiting for the second season of JSHK since 2020, do you have access to the manga and still decide to wait? Even more so, the anime is missing arcs. I really don't understand these people.

I watched the new TBHK episode and I don't think they're skipping the Clock Keepers Arc but instead are pushing it back by leading up to it.

Spoilers for the Clock Keepers Arc and Hell of Mirrors Arc below

Having the HoM Arc come before the CK Arc actually makes a lot of sense for the anime. The CK Arc has a lot of package to deliver and having it be the season finale would be a bit....much.

Having this scene coming BEFORE Yashiro’s reveal would make a lot of sense.

It’d make you wonder why Tsukasa of all people would say that. You’d think to yourself “What? Of course she’s alive. Why would he say that?”. If this came AFTER the CK Arc, then it’d make sense why Tsukasa would say that.

They’re building up to the reveal instead of just throwing it out there at the end of S1.

There’s also the fact that the HoM Arc introduces the 3rd School Mystery while the CK Arc reveals the 1st School Mystery and the secret of one of the students (it also has a lot of Hanako/Yashiro development). They wanna keep their mystery a secret for an eventual season 2.

Also, it’s a good reason to keep the CK Arc for the second season as it reveals the reasoning behind a lot of things happening to Yashiro.

If you guys don’t mind knowing why, here it is.

It’s because Yashiro is going to die within the next year. Since she’s so close to the Far Shore and not an exorcist, she’s able to see the spirits around her. That includes Hanako. That’s why Hanako said “not a lot of people are able to summon me” when they first met.

The CK Arc is an emotional rollercoaster and I know that anime only viewers are not going to be prepared for this.

Some thoughts on Sakayume (for JJK 0 & JSHK)

I’m gonna start with a disclaimer: This post contains thoughts about JJK movie 0, I have not read the JJK manga I have only seen the anime. This is just some thoughts on the second ED and my thoughts on the theme of Sakayume for Yuta and Rika. This post also is about JSHK and yes I have read the manga for that lol. Specifically about the Picture Perfect arc. These are just some random jumbled but related thoughts. Thats it. 

Recently after seeing the JJK 0 Movie i’ve been obsessed with the song Sakayume by King Gnu as well as just Yuta and Rika in general and I discovered some interesting things. 

逆夢 sakayume Is a dream that contradicts reality. It’s unrealistic meaning that it can't or won't happen in real life. This song fits so well for Yuta and Rika because (well if you know you know it’s too early for spoilers) but if you have seen the movie then its extremely obvious as to why! 

But what what I found interesting is when I went and watched the actual anime afterwards.

There’s another song at the end of the first season of the JJK anime and this song even though it was for the anime’s second ED I feel like it was trying to speak as well about Yuta and Rika. Maybe not entirely but it fits and there’s 2 reasons why I think this. 

Number 1. I feel this song is about 逆夢 sakayume in a sense. The song speaks about “giving back the dream” It’s called “Give it back” and it’s like “give me back the dream” “what happened to rest of the dream and why did I have to wake to reality”  basically it’s longing. It's longing to go back to the dream and not a reality that contradicts that dream. So when I hear this ED I also think of the movie’s theme song for them which is Sakayume! Number 2. The fact that this (screenshot right below) is in the ED while this song is playing.

Now I saw this in a previous post. So I am not the first to discover this but just to be sure I asked @rapidfur​ my Japanese extrodinare friend! To give me some more insight. Thank you Rapiddd <3!!

In that ED etched into the desk is a love umbrella. It’s the equivalent of when young lovers etch their initials together into a tree. But because Japanese names are so short they put the whole names instead of just the initials. 

The names of “Rika” / “Okkotsu"are actually in THIS! Now it could just be a foreshadow to the movie coming out at the time with no relation to the lyrics themselves. Sureee. But the lyrics do reflect them so I am personally gonna say this also is relating to them. 

I did wonder though if Yuta wrote this? Because the desk is in the classroom! And Yuta spent at least some time in there. Not an elementary school classroom otherwise I would have thought this could have been a flashback of Rika who wrote it. I just think that would have been even cuter also more frekin sad if he did! It could also be neither if this was just meant to be like one of those hidden things with no relation to who actually wrote it. I don’t know and no one knows. But because of that I am gonna say Yuta just wrote it cause I love that stuff. 

Rapid also found it a bit odd that it said “Rika” and “Okkotsu” only cause she thought it would have said “Yuta” since Rika does just call him “Yuta” but if Rika isn't the one who wrote it then I guess it makes more sense? I don’t know I am just overanalyzing it. Rapid also said there is no actual rule to which name is used. Last and first, all first names, etc. There’s just no rules to the love umbrella because everyone has their own way of doing it. I just find it all fascinating and get too into it lol. 

But these are my 2 reasons as to why the ED 2 song is also relates to Yuta and Rika! 

On a side note the definition of 逆夢 sakayume makes me feel things about something else entirely. That being the PICTURE PERFECT ARC! (Yes my JSHK peeps you expected this I know you did.) 

A dream that contradicts reality. Something that could never happen in the real world of these characters. DOES THAT NOT MAKE YOU THINK OF IT?! 

And the song “Give it back” (which has the theme’s of sakuyme) just gives me such strong Picture Perfect arc vibes!

What happened to the rest of the dream I longed for.

Where is it? I miss it.  

Even though Nene was the one who wanted to leave the painting world and go back to the real world I feel like her looking back after getting out- those lyrics would definitely fit!

And LASTLY I also gotta add this. I wasn’t fully aware of how romantic umbrellas were in Japanese culture so now this just gives me even stronger feelings about this cover image to chapter 49. 

“The scent of the fresh rain, and the scent of you who is alive.” That was the english translation to the text that was on the original G Fantasy scan of this as well and... i’m fine. I’M JUST FINE!

Maybe who knows if you see this and you're a JJK fan you might think “Huh, that bottom portion looks really interesting.” and might make you want to check out JSHK.” Or maybe you're one of my lovely followers and you see this and think “Huh that relationship has me intrigued.” and might make you curious about the JJK 0 movie. I don’t know but yea these are my thoughts. 逆夢 sakayume is probably my favorite Japanese word now.

It has been revealed that Hanako-kun After School will return in the fall 2024 season, as well as that a second season of Hanako-kun is in production. But additional information about the release date and members of the technical team have not been announced at the time of this post.

Did you notice? Cells at work!! Ep2

Sooo I watch a lot of anime and read a lot of manga, one of my favourite anime/manga series Cells At Work!! is back with a second season (I’m watching Code Black as well). I really like this series mainly because my undergraduate/Bachelors degree is biomedical science related and some parts of it is relevant to my masters. So this whole show is just a massive revision binge ... except I learn it with about 20 times more detail at university level.

So Season 2 Ep2 is Aquired Immunity and Peyer’s Patch. In the Aquired Immunity section, our good friend B Cell (Voiced by Chiba Shoya who also voiced Minamoto Kou in JSHK) said to Memory Cell (who’s VA is Nakamura Yuuichi also voiced Gojou Satoru in JJK):

I have to say this is a very good pun on the translations and wouldn’t be noticed immediately.

To put it in layman’s terms, B cells make Antibodies but they need Antigens from the bacteria/virus/pathogen to be presented in order to make those antibodies. The specific antibodies are complementary to the specific antigen and help fight of the pathogen through various methods.

Antibodies are made up by 2 heavy chains and 2 light chains which is joined by a Hinge Region!

So yeah, it was a very good pun on the translations and I really wanted to talk about it because it made me laugh even more than it should with this extra joke and I don’t think many people noticed this pun. Also, I don’t really want to explain this image further, you could write an entire article let alone an essay on this.

Additionally, this episode teaches you why Vaccines are important. So if you have the opportunity to get the COVID-19 vaccine or any other vaccine, please PLEASE get it.

Also, in the second half of the episode on Peyer’s Patch, it talks about immunity in your gut (and Mitsuba’s VA Kobayashi Daiki is there as Campylobacter).

But yeah that’s a quick science lesson! If anyone wants to study science especially in the medical field or just want to try and pass their biology classes in a fun way, I would always recommend Cells At Work!

Argh I know this is like too soon but I can’t wait for Season 2 of JSHK at 2021!! I wanna know the voice actors of Kako, Mirai, Shijima maybe No.6? And as much as I love the JSHK Op and Ed I hope the new one will be just as good really haha! What do u think that’s going to happen for Season 2 of JSHK?

I love "No. 7" and "Tiny Light" with all my heart ;w;; but of course new ones are welcomed! I've mentioned this plenty of times already but I do really love the Tanabata Arcーthough I'm not sure if it'll be in the second season if there is one.

Maybe Lerche will pull it off? Like they'll make it that Nene invites Kou after the Three Clock Keepers arc? Or maybe after the Searching arc?

I agree with the people who said they'd start the season with a filler chapter like the Mokke of the dead chapter. Okay, so here are my thoughts about what episodes will be aired:

MAJOR SPOILERS FROM THE MANGA!

Episode 1 - Mokke of the dead (Chapter 39)

• A fun way to start the new season! Also I'd love to see this scene animated >:3

Episode 2 - The Three Clock Keepers (Parts 1 & 2)

• I think Akane revealed as the clock keeper is a good cliffhanger, don't you think?

Episode 3 - The Three Clock Keepers (Parts 3 & 4)

• C'mon, this would be a good cliffhanger too! Mirai saying "I can't move her time forward! Honorable No. 7... Does this mean she... has no more time left...?" Then cue the ED ;w;;

Episode 4 - The Three Clock Keepers (Part 5) and Searching Arc

• Idk. I feel like Lerche would try and compile these two into one episode? I want the rooftop kiss please 🥺

Episode 5 - Tanabata Arc (Part 1)

• Yeah, yeah I'm super biased xD I want this precious arc to be animated okay? Also Kou still might be down at this point right? So Nene would like to cheer him up. So the end of this episode would be baby Amane offering Nene his hand.

Episode 6 - Tanabata Arc (Part 2)

• Baby Amane enjoying the festival with Nene-oneesan 🥺 Then Nene would wake up to Hanako smiling gently at her. Then the end scene would be Amane hanging his wish slips aaaaa

Episodes 7 to 12 - Picture Perfect Arc and End of a Dream Arc

• We all know how long the Picture Perfect arc is so I guess 6 whole episodes would be enough? I'm not sure...

I think episode 11's end scene would be the revelation of Hanako's real wish. Then the final episode would be the scene where Nene asks Hanako to grant her wish.

The ED song would start playing from the scene with Nene removing the seal of Shijima's yorishiro. And I do adore the scene with the Toilet Trio 🥺 Hanako poking Kou's cheek while his arm is on Nene's shoulder. I guess they wouldn't include the exams? They'll just end it with that scene.

The 7 Mysteries Analysis

🚨JSHK SPOILERS!!!🚨

In the Hell of Mirrors arc, Tsuchigomori mentions that each of the 7 mysteries governs a certain aspect of the school:

Now that we have (kind of) met #6, I thought it would be interesting to examine the 7 mysteries powers and what they control in the school!

The mysteries that are in purple are the ones whose yorishiros have been destroyed, meaning they are technically not part of the 7 mysteries anymore. Pink is pure theory at this point.

Disclaimer: We don't know everything about the 7 mysteries yet so some of this is speculation!

No. 1- Time

Kako- Controls the past, can rewind time for students or the school.

Mirai- Controls the future, can turn time forward for students or the school.

Aoi Akane- Human assistant to the clock keepers, controls the present. He can stop time for up to 15 minutes per day with his watch.

Yorishiro- This one is tricky- do they each have a yorishiro or do they share one?

Boundary- ? Maybe if Hanako-kun wasn't such a perv we would know

Rumor- There are three clock keepers that control the past, present, and future of the school with a big clock. If you touch the clock without their permission, they will steal all your time.

No. 2- Space

Yako- The stairs in Yako's boundary can take you anywhere in the school-including other mystery's boundaries. She can also bring dolls to 'life'.

Yorishiro- The scissors Misaki gave her

Boundary- The Misaki Stairs

Rumor- If you step on the 4th stair of Staircase B in the old building, you will be taken to the far shore and torn to pieces.

No. 3- Memories

Bird Guy Mitsuba Souske- He can see anything that has ever happend in the school (if it happend in front of a mirror).

Yorishiro- The ceiling of the boundary (why tho)

Boundary- The Hell of Mirrors, located inside the mirrors of the school

Real Life- Mitsuba Souske died in an accident(?) his second year of middle school. He was in the photography club.

Rumor- If you look into a mirror at the school, it could suck you into The Hell of Mirrors. The hell of mirrors reflects your hearts deepest regrets and darkness, and will use these things to attack you to try to swap places with you on the near shore.

No. 4- Reality/Fiction(?)

Shijima Mei- The only explanation of what Mei controls is Sakura saying she "creates worlds based on peoples wishes/desires in their heart." That sounds dangerously close to Hanako's territory? Based on the fact that she creates fictional worlds that can trap students, I believe she controls what is real vs not real.

Yorishiro- Sketchbook

Boundary- the art room

Real Life- Shijima Mei was a student at the academy in the 80s. She loved art and her family supported her in pursuing it, but she got sick and had to stay in the hospital for a prolonged time. She continued to work on her art there and submitted her final drawing to a student art show.

Rumor- A girl who loved art but wasn't allowed to pursue it killed herself and now haunts the art room. She can trap you in a fake world that she paints and make you do whatever she wants.

No. 5- Records

Tsuchigomori- Can read the lives of the students at the school from the time they enter to the time they graduate.

Yorishiro- Amane's moon rock

Boundary- The 4 O'Clock Library (accessed through the library)

Rumor- If you go to the library at 4pm, a special room will open that has books with the names of every student who has ever attended the school in it. The books tell you everything that a student has done or will do at the school. Black books are students that have died, white books are living students, and red ones, the ones that are forbidden to read, tell you the future.

No. 6- Life/Death

Shinigami- He can kill things or bring them back to life just by touching them.

Yorishiro- Akane Sumire

Boundary- It is unclear how you get to no. 6's boundary, but it is located under the school.

Rumor- If you hear the sound of a flute playing, it means the reaper is coming to collect your soul to sacrafice you to hungry spirits/the gods.

No. 7- Wishes(?)

Hanako (Yugi Amane)- Hanako grants wishes for humans in exchange for a price (but I think he does more than just that). He is also the leader of the 7 mysteries. He can only be summoned by people with supernatural powers or people who are close to the far shore. He is the third Hanako Kamome Academy has had.

Yorishiro- based on Sumire being no. 6's human yorishiro with a black/red seal, I think it is safe to assume at this point that Hanako's yorishiro is Tsukasa.

Boundary- Hanako's boundary either is the 3rd floor girl's bathroom in the old building or you reach it through the bathroom.

Real Life- We dont know much about Amane's life yet other than he went to Kamome Academy, died his second year of middle school in 1969, and killed his younger twin brother.

Rumor- Hanako-san of the toilet is the ghost of a girl who haunts the girls bathroom. If you go to the old building's third floor bathroom and knock on the door of the third stall 3 times, a girl with a bob haircut and red skirt will grant one of your wishes in exchange for something you care about.

No. 8

OKAY OKAY OKAY- i know theres no OFFICAL no. 8 yet, but I think Yashiro will still die and Hanako will make her no. 8 to keep her on the near shore or Tsukasa will grant her wish to stay at the school. She may come back to life with the help of the 7 mysteries powers, but there are just too many clues that point to this- her name having the kanji for '8' in it, the first season OP mentioning an 8th mystery, the fact that she is fated to die, her skull brooch, etc. If this does happen, I hope she gets to control love/romance, I think our girl would enjoy that at least. 🥺
