Aaron Wiley ended up with more than he bargained for in May, when he went to his favorite jeweler in Dallas to get his wife’s old diamond necklace upgraded.

One day after helping Wiley and his wife, Erleigh Wiley, select a new motif for the necklace, Jennifer Pratt of JPratt Designs offered an unexpected gem: her kidney.

During their design appointment, when Pratt learned that Aaron was on dialysis treatment because the kidney Erleigh had given him about 10 years earlier had failed, she knew she wanted to help, she said.

“Aaron had been in the store a few times before, and although I didn’t know him well, I knew he was a good person,” she said. “I went home and told my husband, ‘I’m going to try and give Aaron my kidney.”

“We were living a peaceful life, drinking wine and enjoying the pool in our backyard, and Aaron was in dialysis three or four times a week,” added Pratt, 59. “I thought, ‘This is something I can do to fix that problem. I can make life better for him.’ ”

Soundset 2019 Lineup Announced

The lineup for Soundset Festival 2019 was unveiled today and the one-day event is celebrating its 12th year with over 40 performers on four stages. Sway Calloway, Heather B, JPratt and Cros One are hosting the May 26th event that will take place at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds. Royce Da 5'"9, Sza, Run The Jewels, DMX and Black Star are some of the artists scheduled to perform that day.

There will also be a b-boy and b-girl competition, a custom car show, skateboard exhibit, art installations, DJ sets and live production showcases. Tickets go sale this Friday at 9:00 AM CT.
