I love My Name is Earl so fucking much and here are my thoughts upon my millionth rewatch.

Earl, Crab Man, Catalina, and Billie are all bisexual.

Randy is asexual but still experiences romantic attraction.

Joy is the only straight one. Kenny is the only gay one.

Earl and Crab Man has one of the best "bromances." (Next to Scrubs JD and Turk) They have such a healthy respect for each other despite having been with Joy at separate and overlapping times. Most shows would make them hate each other. But Darnell is always a positive character. He's so genuine and compassionate. Such a breath of fresh air for TV. It's nice to see a man so in touch with his feelings and LOVING his wife. Joys a bitch (affectionate) and I love that. She gets to be the mean one. She gets to be angry, and he gets to be nice. They both love that setup. And I love that for them.

Billie is the antithesis of Earl. I know that's obvious, but it's still very interesting. They both grew up in perfectly fine households and willingly chose to do wrong. Once they both got hit by Karma, they each dealt with it in different ways. Earl showed genuine remorse. He tried to do more than say 'sorry' and move on. Billie took the easy way out. She did the surface level work. Karma brought them together as a warning to Earl, I think. This is what you were, who you almost became again. This is how people perceived you. She had a chance to do better and actively chose to ignore it. She made the people around her miserable. Earl, on the other hand, went out of his way to build trust with those around him. (I have more to say on this, but I'll make another post)

Kenny and Earl could and would work. I think Earl has a LOT of unpacked homophobia. And, Kenny is one of the people Earl went out of his way to mend his relationship with. Most of the others were a one - or two episode thing and done. But Kenny constantly popped up. I know I'm probably being crazy with this one, but I think Earl liked Kenny. I think part of why he bullied him was that unpacked homophobia. And Kenny, that sweet forgiving fucker, is actually good for him.

Remember in my name is Earl when Earl was making it up to the old trailer park manager who he made think she could hear god by tuning into her hearing aid and she became super mean again after he told her and she went after Darnell and Mr. Turtle by telling Darnell he couldn't have any reptiles in the park unless you're making soup and he immediately got up and with a face of pure devastation he cried out for Joy? Because I still think about how sweet it was

I felt for Annie this chapter, and how she thought this was her fault makes me feel even sadder for her. Armin is a great husband and even if he has his moments (he certainly did in this chapter lol) you can really tell he cares about and loves Annie. Hitch showing up had me cackling, from what I got her character is very Joy (From the show: My name is earl coded) or maybe I’m just obsessed w that show lol. But I could really imagine her tapping her foot texting away on her phone while Armin is bickering at her. I hope baby Alexander is going to be okay and healthy soon! And Mikasa saying a few sentences to Hitch and calling it enough of social interaction gave me heavy deja vu lol. Eren and Mikasa need to get on some kind of prevention cause at their rate i don’t think it’ll take long until Mikasa’s at the convenience store buying pregnancy tests lol. Also did Carla hear them? LMAO CAUSE IN THE CHAPTER IT SAYS SHE SLEPT OVER AND NOW CARLAS TALKING ABOUT MORE GRANDBABIES!?

I can totally see what you mean comparing her to Joy! She definitely does have that same take-no-prisoners, straightforward (and maybe not the classiest lol) vibe. My kid and I actually watched all of My Name is Earl about a year ago! I watched it while it was first airing and then I was hankering to do a rewatch, so we did. I feel like it's such a comfort-type show. I wish it had gotten a proper final season.

You know what, I didn't consider if Carla heard them but WHAT IF SHE DID. 😭 I'm going to say she could guess what they were getting up to and kept her bedroom TV playing all night to drown out any possible noises. That's what I would do if I were in her shoes. No one needs to hear their kid doing that.

Alexander will be fighting fit before we know it! I think the next time we see him is at the playground!

Mello is trying to get a book published...and is on Earl's list. (Number 386: Ruined Mihael Keehl's Book Signing). They're like a gay expy of Joy and Darnell.

To the Movies and Back

"It's on. It's on! Quick!" Randy shouted as he sat in front of the motel TV. Earl was in the bathroom getting ready while you lay on the couch.

"Ok! I'm coming!" He said as he entered the room. "I don't understand what the big deal is."

"Sit down, sit down! Look!"

Earl settled on the couch beside you as you sat up to see the tv.

"This Christmas in a theater near you! Alvin and the Chipmunks make their debut on the silver screen!" The tv flashed with cgi chipmunks dancing across the screen. "Starring favorite characters such as Alvin, Simon, Theodore, and Dave!" The camera shot to a man who looked to be around your own age, and your jaw dropped. He looked almost exactly like Earl. Like a clean shaven doppelganger. You couldn't believe your eyes.

"Now, how did they get those chipmunks to do all that?" Randy started as the ad ended.

"Well, it's not really them, Randy." Earl started.

"I know that's not the real Alvin and the Chipmunks. They've been retired for years." Randy said in a duh tone. "Can we go see it?"

"I don't know, Randy. I still have a lot of things I need to get done with my list an all."

"Oh, come on, Earl, can't we do what I want just this once?" Randy pouted.

"I don't know..."

"I'll go with him." The boys' heads whipped to face you.

"Really?" They both said at the same time. One hopeful and one in disbelief.

"Yeah, sure! I mean, it could be fun! We could make a day of it and take Dodge and Earl Jr. too! My treat! Besides that guy, Dave? Is pretty cute." You looked towards Earl smirking at that last part. Positive that he must've seen the resemblance between himself and the character. But he only gave you a confused look in return.

"Alright, I guess I'll call up Joy..."

Hours later, and the movie was about as good as a children's movie about talking chipmunks could be. Joy, Darnell, and the boys were back at the trailer. Randy had fallen asleep on the couch as soon as they entered the motel room, while Earl decided to get ready for bed. You sat on the bed waiting for him to come back out.

Earl had been surprisingly quiet the entire time, but you chalked it up to him being anxious to cross something off his list. You hoped to talk to him before going back to your place.

When he came back out, he looked a little shocked to see you.

"You're still here?" He avoided eye contact and got into bed.

"Of course. I wanted to talk to you before I left." You furrowed your brow at the odd behavior. "Is everything ok?" You crawled over to the end he was at to look him in the eye.

"Did you really think that guy in the movie was cute?" You laughed lightly before seeing the expression on his face.

"Well, yeah. But you know why I thought he was cute...right?"

He shook his head slowly.

"I only thought he was cute because he looks so much like you!" You laughed at the bewildered look on his face.

"Does not!"

"Does so! Of course, you're wayyy more attractive than that guy, though." You winked as a grin spread across his face.

"Yeah?" He looked up at you suggestively.

"Oh yeah... I mean, he didn't even have a mustache! Less one as sexy as yours." You ran your fingers against the aforementioned feature.

"You know Randy's asleep...you and I could have the bed?" He looked up at you with hope and something else shining in his eyes. You brushed your hand down his face, quickly dismissing the idea.

"Earl, I love you, but there is no way in hell I'm making out with you or anything else while your brother is in the room." You kissed his nose. "But I will cuddle with you. As long as you keep it PG." You kicked off your shoes before Earl helped you under the covers.

"PG-13?" He moved his hand to cup your chest as you rolled your eyes.

"Goodnight, Earl."

He does! He brags about Timmy's success to every person within the neighborhood's vicinity. Mr. Turner loves how successful his son is! It really secures his reputation at the neighborhood HOA meetings they host at their house.

Timmy's worked very hard to gain more successes than failures. The more successful he is, the greater his family's social standing!! And the less he gets to overhear his dad ranting to the neighborhood about his failures.
