Mod Vintage (⭐)
Letter replacements:
Replace "O" with zeroes "0"
Replace "i" or "L" with ones "1"
Replace "one" with "1", including "one" sounds like "any1", or "we 1 = we won" (the past tense of "win")

Frankly, you can just replace all sorts of letters with numbers, such as
R = 12
N = 17
B = 8
A = 4
E = 3

or maybe make all "A"s and "i"s capitalized, cause "A.I." (artificial intelligence
Prefixes and Suffixes:
Get inspired by programming languages!
Begin your text with "//" like a comment on C++
If you prefer other languages comment tags, you can use "< !--your text-- >"
Or maybe begin it with " int main () { std::cout << "your text"" and end with "return 0; }" like C++ too
Greet people with the classic "Hello world!"
Or greet people with "beep boop!" honestly, I have no idea where this comes from, but it's cute.
Or write down html stuff, like sandwiching your italicized text with "< em> "
The possibilities are endless!

I’m taking the TEAS test tomorrow (it’s kinda like the SAT or ACT but to get into some nursing program) and it’s apparently really hard so how Hangman hyping up his girl because she’s nervous to take it.
𝐂𝐫𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐡 𝐓𝐢𝐦𝐞
𝐚 𝐇𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝐱 𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐞
"Epiglottis?"
You hum, taking a deep breath.
"The structure that prevents food from entering the airways," you answer.
You know you're right--you know it even before Jake presses down twice on the That Was Easy button. It was a purchase he made weeks ago when you mentioned needing help studying for the TEAS.
Jake grins at you, eyes bright. He's even holding physical copies of the flashcards in his hands like a gameshow host, meticulously printing off the study guide you sent him so he can hold them in his hands as he quizzes you.
"Correct!" He cries.
You're past the point of rolling your eyes, even with that television newscaster voice he's put on for this occasion--which was supposed to just be you eating takeout on the new leather couch your boyfriend bought. But when you'd shown up at his place a few hours ago, a couple greasy paper bags and reading glasses in tow, you'd been surprised to find the setup in his living room. Lo-fi playing softly on the TV, lavender essential oil diffusing nearby, mugs of peppermint tea still steaming, That Was Easy button waiting front and center on the coffee table.
"Next," you call with a smile, popping a few more crumbly pieces of fortune cookie in your mouth.
Jake glances down at the cards, still grinning. You haven't so much as stumbled once yet, acing every single question with less than a few moments of hesitation. Even through mouthfuls of chow-mein and crab Rangoons, you've been table to tell him the difference between the mitral valve and the aorta.
"The hormonal influence on blood pressure is the result of the relationship between what two systems?" He asks.
Happily, you take another bite of cookie.
"Circulatory and endocrine," you answer.
You're so confident that you're right that you huff on your nails and pretend to buff them on your t-shirt with a smirk.
Jake loves this side of you. You're a humble person by nature, not one to brag about your accomplishments even if he feels that they far outweigh his. But you're fucking good at what you do--not only are you good at it, you're passionate about it. You are someone that is absolutely meant to be a nurse; he knows it, you know it, everyone knows it.
"Baby," Jake breathes, discarding the flashcards beside him and crossing his arms. He gazes at you, bare-faced and dressed in oversized clothes, lips greasy with soy sauce. Your eyes are glazed with joy and your cheeks are pink, but he can see the tightening of your shoulders. "That's it. You did it."
"Oh, that was the TEAS?" You ask, rolling your eyes with a playful smile. "Super informal! Didn't know they started allowing boyfriends to administer the exam."
Jake sinks into the sofa, which he is more than glad to break in with you and The Golden Tiger, and sighs.
"You know you're gonna pass it," Jake says coolly.
He studies your face--notices the way your eyes just about begin to roll again before they're interrupted by a jolt of nerves running up your spine. He sees the tingle, watches it tickle your nose and make you grimace slightly. You try to play it off, reaching for another crumb of fortune cookie that just isn't there.
"Baby," Jake says softly. You glance at him and he holds your gaze, brows furrowing seriously. "You've got this. Seriously. You didn't miss one. One!"
You nod, tapping your fingers against your knee.
"Yeah, but what if I choke?"
A smirk tugs at Jake's lips.
"If you say something about the Heimlich Maneuver, I'm gonna pour duck sauce on the sofa," you warn with a pointed finger.
He holds his hands up in mock defense and motions for you to come to him, opening his arms. He looks very sweet right now--all cotton sweatpants and broad shoulders and glossy eyes and smiling lips. So, you shuffle to him and collapse on his chest, letting him wrap you up in his arms and hold you tight.
For a moment, you two just inhale each other. He smells like shampoo and sunscreen and you smell like lavender and clean skin. He's warm and solid and you're soft and sweet against him, running your fingers across the length of his chest.
"Baby, you're the smartest person I know," Jake promises. "And I'm friends with Bob."
You laugh, sighing against his shirt. But that bundle of nerves, even if it's only a handful, are sitting heavy at the bottom of your gut. You groan softly and glance up at him.
He cups your cheek, stroking softly.
"Yeah, but what if I forget something? Or I just...don't know the answer?"
Jake scoffs, shaking his head.
"Not gonna happen," Jake says.
And really, he has no way of knowing that it isn't going to happen. Of course he doesn't--he honestly only learned what the TEAS were a short time ago--but he is thoroughly sure of his answer. It isn't going to happen. You are a diligent studier, an excellent student, a bright pupil. You're going to pass with flying colors.
And even though you know you don't have to believe him, you do. You know that he isn't just saying it because he's in love with you--even though he really is in love with you. You know that he isn't just saying it because he wants to be done studying for the night and finally finish that new season of Stranger Things you've been watching. You know that he's just saying it because he absolutely believes it--and so do you.
"Swear it?" You ask, poking out your bottom lip and pinkie in tandem.
He wraps his pinkie around yours.
"Swear it," he answers. He kisses your knuckles, his lips wet and soft.
"Fine," you say, pretending like you're not swooning. You take a deep breath of greasy takeout and lavender and leather and then rest on his chest again. "Fortune cookie me."
Jake does the honor of popping one open for you and cracking it, reading the little slip of paper above your head.
Drawing shapes against his chest lazily, you sigh.
"Well, this is something..." he mutters.
"What's it say?" You ask.
"It says that your boyfriend deserves to be the little spoon tonight since he helped you study for the TEAS and also because he's been so good," Jake says, tone dripping with faux-amazement. "I mean, talk about applicable! I just got goosebumps!"
You're grinning as you snatch the fortune away, reading over it.
But then you bite your lip and glance up at him, brows raised. You can play along--he's read flashcards to you for a little over three hours now.
"Huh," you say softly. "It does say that. Weird."
a/n: I am so sorry this took me so long to get to!! bestie, I hope your TEAS went AMAZING!!! all the love to you!!!!

ASTARION HEADCANONS and DND Canon lore about VAMPIRES
(UNDER CURRENT WORK, UNFINISHED)
18+ MNDI, MATURE CONTENT FAR BELOW WITH FOREWARNING
-
CONTENT WARNING: Corrupt behavior, blood suckin', malice feelings, mentions of suicide, mentions of mangled appearances and bodies, life and death mentions
I always start with Canon, and then Headcanons because I have evidence.
There is much less history in the canon bits, just conditions of being a vampire. You can note many different vampires in different periods of DND History but none were noteworthy at this time.

CANON
TRUE VAMPIRES and their Abilities, Habits, and Beginnings.
small warning: this will entail their weakness, which will tell you, in-toe, what Cazador's weaknesses are in combat. If you don't want that and want a stupidly difficult battle with him, skip this first canon part.
𝔒 True Vampires are undead, feared, uncompassionate creatures that feast on blood of the living with their Sanguivorous diets. They bleed utter corruption and are highly intelligent for the undead.
𝔒 They don't have a favoured climate but they have a couple of known places where lairs are more common. Such as the Prime Material Plane, Shadowfell, Negative Energy Plane, Thanatos, The Abyss, and Pandemonium.
𝔒 Vampires (solitarily living) can be lured out, as hunting is their only form of joy, and they can take the bait very easily. Vampires will use any kind of command, summoning, and weapons to catch prey. When a vampire uses most of its resources against its enemy, it means they’re at a last resort and wits end trying to flee and escape.
𝔒 They challenge level 13 adventurers, and are aligned Lawful Evil,
𝔒 True Vampires are shapechangers, which is seen in Cazador's Fight. He takes on a Gaseous Form. In any form, if they die, they revert back to their original form.
𝔒 They can take on a Tiny Bat polymorph form, though they cannot talk in this form. Has a flying distance of 30ft or walking distance of 5ft.
𝔒 In misty form, they can't take action, talk, or manipulate objects. It is weightless and has a 20ft flying distance. It's capable of moving in hostile creatures areas. Its form cannot pass through water. It still has Dexterity, Strength, and Constitution saving throws in gaseous form. Can still take sunlight damage, but not non-magical damage.
𝔒 Vampires regenerate 20 hp at the start of every turn. Unless dealt with Holy Water or Radiant Energy.
𝔒 Vampires are found in lavish lairs, fortified manors, castles, or walled abbeys. Their coffins rest in underground crypts, often guarded by Vampire Spawn.
𝔒 Regionally, their lair warps the land, with an increase in bats, rats, and wolves in the area which they are capable of dominating control over. Plants within 500ft die and warp into twisted thorns, shadows cast within 500ft around the area are unusually gaunt and haunting, creeping fogs appear within 500ft of the lair. Sometimes the fog takes on form such as writhing serpents and grasping claws.
𝔒 The determining factor of a 2d6 (2, 6 sided dies) will tell how long these regional lair warps will last after a Vampires Death, in days.
𝔒 Vampires retain their likeness, but gain pale cast skin, red eyes, glassy claws, retractable canines, and sharper features akin to looking predatory. Vampires often wear blush and makeup to hide their undead features.
𝔒 When Vampires are well fed, their decaying process stops, giving them a pinkish hue on their pale skin, and temporarily kick starts their circulatory system.
𝔒 More sadistic vampires will sexualize their eating experience, using mockery such as flirting on their prey.
𝔒 Usually vampires are always evil, before undeath. They're a piece of shit in life, and a piece of shit in undeath. Sometimes losing memory of life in the process. They are meticulous in their planning and don't mind slow moving plans as long as it's executed perfectly.
𝔒 True Vampires CANNOT feel love, its twisted in obsession, friendship is warped into jealously. Many will seek out a past fixation and make it an obsession in undeath. Such as sought love becoming beauty sought in all their prey, ones who value youth prey on children.
𝔒 Obssesion moves onto Possesion, they collect art, objects of torture, and decorating their lair with trophies.
𝔒 Their organs have acute sensory, including darkvision, hearing, and smell.
𝔒 They do not need to breathe, sleep, eat food. Prey are destroyed after feeding to prevent them from turning into undead. A stake will not kill them, only paralyze. Garlic will keep them at bay and prevent them from entering rooms.
𝔒 Vampire Spawn are granted free will after their master's death, or being allowed to sup on their master's blood, transforming them into a True Vampire.
𝔒 Vampires and lich have quite a bit in common, which makes for deadly history. Vampires have been known to take militia ranking next to lich in armies of the undead.
𝔒 Though vampires are incredibly solitary creatures.
𝔒 Humanoids, monstrous humanoids, dragons, illithid, giants, or even flying snakes are capable of becoming vampires.
𝔒 Half-Vampires, although incredibly rare, can exist. A vampire must consume enough blood to start circulation, and breed with a humanoid creating half-vamp offspring. OR even rarer, a mother survives being drained by a vampire, and the fetus carries tainted blood to birth.
𝔒 Curseed Enchanted Items can create Vampires, such as vampiric swords that collect the blood of their enemies, and when the carrier dies, is brought back as a Vampire at the cost of their Constitution. They are bound to their sword for eternity until a dead undeath.
𝔒 Vampires need permission to enter houses, can be damaged by running water, silver, stakes, and cannot regenerate when in water.
Can There be Different Forms of Vampirism?
𝔒 In short yes, there are many. We're looking at Elven Vampirism. It is called the Dominion of Dread.
𝔒 There can be Gnome, Dwarf, Kender, and other humanoid forms of vampirism.
𝔒 some subcategories of Vampirism include Cerebral (they are a slim subdominon that can walk in the sun), Corpse Vampire (they are Spellplagued beings that arose from improper burials and evil energy pollution), Dhampyrs (sun-walkers who have tainted blood from vampires), Hellborn (they are sun-walkers, who cannot fly or turn into gaseous forms), Master Vampire which is the most common and what Cazador is (evilly perfected beings with a gaggle of spawn), Nosferatu (Hideous beings found in the Domain of Dread), Velya (Aquatic Vampires), Vampyre (rare Faerûnian Vampires that have the ability to cast fire).
𝔒 Let's talk about Vampyre for a moment, ya'll will eat this shit up. They are able to transfer life energy to undead or living by way of breath or kissing, which revitalizes them.
𝔒 Elven Vampirism; only full elves or half-elves can contract. In the 14th century had a presence in Toril of the Prime Material Plane.
𝔒 They prefer forest climate.
𝔒 Often adorning scarred and twisted face, shocking and scaring those who gaze. Typically they hide it under dark robes. Maybe that's why Cazador has a crazy amount of acne-looking scars.
𝔒 They harbour deep hatred for all thing beautiful, vibrant, and lovely.
𝔒 Super unfriendly neighbors. Destroyed and corrupt anyone who tried to farm or live near their lairs.
𝔒 Adept perception, particularly for hidden seals and entrances.
𝔒 Their polymorphs are often eagles. Snd their ability to command animals varies to wolves, badgers, prey birds, hawks, porcupines, monkey rats, and weasels.
𝔒 They sustain life on the Charisma of other creatures. Victims suffer from disfigurement after feeding, too many or too big of a feeding results in victims feeling suicidal. Anyone who succumbed to those urges who become undead spawn.
𝔒 The touch of an Elven Vampire can wither any plant away. They can feel the exact pain and agony the plant goes through as it happens. Elves are connected with nature but this feature drove them mad if cursed with vampirism.
What are the Differences in Vampire Spawn?
𝔒 They don't have all the abilities of a True Vampire, but suffer from the same weaknesses and vulnerabilities.
𝔒 If freed from their Masters control, they are unable to be enslaved again.
𝔒 If they posses Spider Climb, they are capable of walking on walls and ceilings.
What are Magistrates?

HEADCANONS
𝔙 Astarion can walk on walls, he's uncanny about it. It really adds to his Dexterity and scares the shit out of his prey during a fight.
𝔙 He doesn't have Elven Vampirism, have you seen his face? he put the definiton of beauty to shame. but he does hate flowers and loves vanity, also ruining others people's fun.
𝔙 He's got the regular form of vampirism under a Master Vampire, but because he lost vanity and can't see his beauty, he ruins it for others. It's not an obession yet, but it stabs his ego quite a bit. A bitter fuck he is.
𝔙 He cannot be re-enslaved, but if he could, by a Cerebral vamp, he'd get the ability to walk in the sun. I think he'd rather hide in the shadows forever than do that.
𝔙 He can't see his shadow. or face, or reflection, that's all a given. but he CAN, ladies and gents, see himself through your eyes using a tadpole. Even more he feels how you feel about him. It's a dangerous game to play, letting himself see him through your eyes.
𝔙 Astarion will lay down in the dust and have you trace his figure. He can guess his height from general objects he's around but he likes doing that. Not the dusty part though.
𝔙 If you let him drink from you, it can't be all the time. You gotta know the days you're in intense combat or rolling in a skill you're not proficient in.
𝔙 “maybe you’ll meet some new buddies Astarion!!“ “ ‘buddies’? “ “yeah the Shadowfell has a shit load of vampires and undead” “I will not be making ‘buddies’ with anyone”
𝔙 He has longer fangs that come out when he's about to feast, you only get to catch glimpses of it.
𝔙 You can find Astarion in streams of water, unharmed by it. He gets a chance to reconnect with being a regular elf again, touch nature and swim in streams.
𝔙 He's a nocturnal creature by nature, his sleep schedule is fucked when he gets the tadpole, that's why he complains consistently. He's exhausted and really does need that blood from you, after you make him travel with you for the first few weeks.
𝔙 If Astarion and you had a cat, their household rivalry would be legendary. They're both highly territorial creatures.
𝔙 You cannot run a bath for him post-tadpole :( stinky vampire. The water has to be completely still. No showers or washing his hands under a sink. You gotta have a special system in place where he can clean himself in still-water.
𝔙 You let him pick the place you will move in together. The Underdark is a safe choice and he can have an active social life among Drow, there's no daylight he has to worry about. Just a lot of mean Drow and homeless vampires he dragged to Cazador before. Baldur's Gate would kill him, he can't have solitude in a hustle and bustle city like that. Though he could get away with eating a lot of people, murder is not uncommon at all. He might wanna move somewhere lush and green, and have the freedom of connecting with the forest as an elf again. Bugs and all.
𝔙 2 thoughts: 1) Astarion could've been a really good magistrate, which is why he likes corruptness and is jealous of the good do-ers. 2) Cazador would've sought people who were already bitter and corrupt as Spawn. Vampires do research on all their pray. So it could 50/50 whether Astarion was a piece of shit in life, and into undeath.
𝔑𝔖𝔉𝔚𝔑𝔖𝔉𝔚𝔑𝔖𝔉𝔚𝔑𝔖𝔉𝔚𝔑𝔖𝔉𝔚𝔑𝔖𝔉𝔚𝔑𝔖𝔉𝔚𝔑𝔖𝔉𝔚𝔑𝔖𝔉𝔚𝔑𝔖𝔉𝔚
NSFW BELOW
𝔙 You and Astarion love swimming at night. He can admire the glimmering water and fresh feeling on his skin. and you get to see him naked, you love it. It often can lead to something more, or just chatting on the edge of the bank.
𝔙 He can't get hard without blood circulating. Cazador let him feast on bugs and rats before "dates" as to lure victims in. With you it's so easy, he doesn't have to beg or starve before sexy time, he can just go and kill boar or bear and keep his energy up.
𝔙 He only needs to meditate for 4 hours with the tadpole like a normal elf, before, the meditation was impossible. He's got a lot of energy. and if you're an elf, you'll plan the same meditation time and wake up with him so you can chat or have alone time together. if you require sleep, he'll prod and poke you until you wake up to have alone time together when he's feeling extra needy.
𝔙 He hates children. He lost the rest of his life to Cazador, and vampires hate and target what they miss about their past lives. Clearly his vanity is one of them, but this young elf entered his adult-hood and then was stripped of the very tip of the beginning.
𝔙 If he's not ascended, he'd consider having children, but he really just hates their sticky fingers. He's not malicious like a True Vampire. They would be able to walk in the sun, as dhampyres, which he might resent them for, or learn to appreciate what he cannot possess.
𝔙 If it's pregnancy/surrogate, he's mostly worried about the chances of the carrier's survival.
𝔙 Astarion would not know how to feel about adpotion. NOT because it's not blood-related, but because he has to choose. Simply plucking someone out of their situation and putting it into his arms really scares him. Knowing adoption is a difficult process during and after, he's scared their life would be as shitty as his had been under a Vampire, he's not Cazador by any means but he's still, him.
𝔙 Astarion is well-fed in BG3 after the crash, with or without your help. He doesn't cum in you, he doesn't want the fucking chance (hehe) of children while you're traveling (if you're afab). During the Shadowfell (act 2) he struggles to find things to eat until the last battle against Moonrise. He really depends on you to not starve, he does not wanna eat the hostile rats in Shar's Gauntlet. But there's less chance of pregnancy so you guys can cum all over eachother.

last one is larissa x teacher!reader, angst based on that one scene in episode 8 but larissa unalives in r arms confessing her love before kicking the bucket so to speak then r saying “i love you too” in to the air no one being the recipient for the words, then she absolutely demolishes thornhill for killing the love of her life, going in to rage mode and getting her revenge idk maybe readers a vampire, write whatever you’re comfortable with, i hate angst but once again, saw a tiktok and now i need the torture hehe
I Always Loved You
Larissa Weems x reader
Authors Note: I'm sorry to the Marilyn stans for this one. Also, sorry for it being a little short. I'm not too great with very graphic violence.
Warnings: Character death and descriptions of violence.
You rushed into the main classroom of the conservatory and saw the room empty other than Larissa Weems laying on the floor. You rushed to her side, pulling her head into your lap, "Oh, Larissa. What happened?"
She was foaming at the mouth and struggling to speak, "Y/n... You're here..."
"Who- Who did this?" You pulled down a sleeve and wiped away the spit. You could feel the hot tears running down your face already, you knew she would be dead soon. You both had spent so much time together the past few years becoming thick as thieves. Truthfully, you were madly in love with her, but being her friend was such a source of joy for you that you would have never jeopardized that.
"Marilyn..." You could see the tears running down her cheeks as she spoke her final words, "I-I always loved you..."
"I love you, Larissa. I always have. Now stay with me..." Larissa was gone and she couldn't hear your omission, "No. Larissa, please. I love you. I love you..."
Rage welled inside of you. You always wished for this day to come when you could admit your feelings and now it was ripped from you.
Marilyn.
You needed to find her and she needed to pay for stealing Larissa from you. She needed to pay for stealing your future.
-----
You found her in the quad that had been lit ablaze. Wednesday Addams standing over her, Eugene and Bianca standing off to the side. You sent them to join the other students. You would take care of her.
Once the students were out of sight. You kicked her once and then twice, making sure they were square in the abdomen. While she was doubled over you walked and picked up the abandoned rapier, testing the weight in your hands.
When you approached her again, you leaned her up against the over turned picnic table. As she lay semi-slumped over, you stared at her for a moment that she had the strength to look up at you.
"Is that all you've got?" Marilyn spat as she finally starred up at you. You hadn't even given her the chance to think when you drove the sword into her with alarming strength. The sword cut through her body and drove through the wood on the other side of her.
"That was for Larissa. You will be dead in a few minutes." You were the anatomy professor at Nevermore and you were a vampire. The two put together gave you a vast knowledge of the circulatory system and where major arteries lay. You had punctured her iliac artery that lay in her abdomen.
You watched her bleed out before you, growing far too weak for words, but you kept talking, "She was my best friend and the love of my life and you took her from me. You are lucky that I'm not one for violence."
With that you finally watched the light leave her eyes. You left her there to be someone else's mess to clean up. You were going back to Larissa so you could tell her what you did.

"The Unforseen Consequences of Resurrection"
Characters: Wilbur, Phil Word Count: 1,648
Written for @blazingstarininkyblackness for @mcytblrholidayexchange
No one warned him that revival would be painful. Though, that would have depended on someone who had been revived before to warn him.
He hadn’t seen anyone else since it happened. Their fearful and shocked faces continued to stare at him in his mind from the manic glee he had felt. He will admit, he did get a bit carried away, but he hadn’t felt the sun in years.
But now that glee had melted away, and had been replaced with pain.
Wilbur wasn’t entirely sure where he was going yet, walking down the Prime Path with an aimlessness he had never felt before. It was still early enough in the morning that the roads were empty. It was just him, and the bright warm world before him. If his knees didn’t ache, he would have jumped for joy, run around and foll in the grass, breathe in the fresh air again after so long in that godsdamned train station.
He saw the ruins of the Community House ahead, and the lake the surrounded it. That’s when he noticed the dryness of his throat. He ran for the water, kneeling at the shore to scoop a handful in his mouth. In the back of his mind, Wilbur remembered something about still water and rivers being dangerous to drink, but he didn’t particularly care at that moment. He needed water.
He hadn’t felt relief in a long time, but quenching his thirst was the first step of many. He felt his stomach growl, empty since the moment he died, he was starved as well as parched.
Wilbur tried stretching his wings as he stood, wincing at the stiffness. Something popped behind him, a small crack, then his left wing stretched a lot more easily. He tried doing the same to the right, rolling the joint this way and that to try and loosen it up, but to no avail. He gave up after that.
His stomach, and his bones, continued to ache as he kept walking along the path, searching for someplace to find food. He’ll probably end up stealing from someone’s kitchen, he thought as he walked towards the castle.
The effects death has on the human, and hybrid, bodies are well researched. The muscles of the body will relax, the skin will pale, and body temperature will cool down to room temperature. All organs and liquids within the body will sink with gravity to the lowest point possible. Rigor mortis, stiffness in the muscles, will set in mere hours after death and slowly reverse over two days. Less researched are the effects of revival. With revival being a new and unknown concept, most do not know the inner workings. Most people, understandably, assume that the revived individual would feel perfectly fine, since the act of resurrection is a magical one. They couldn’t be more wrong. Revival cannot simply reverse the effects after death, it does not reverse time. It is a wonder that Wilbur could walk at all, given how nine months of being laid to rest would have left his muscles atrophied beyond function. His complexion remains pale for the next few weeks, his circulatory system working to catch up while he recovers. He has almost zero body mass, most of his weight being what is left of his bones and muscles, with little to no fat. This is a man who should not be alive. Dr. Ponk, MD, Essempi Institute of Medicine
Phil found Wilbur standing outside the door to his cabin early after sunrise, his son shivering despite the layers he was clearly wearing. Wilbur looked a mess, hair clearly not brushed properly (though he can see an attempt was made), wings in disarray, and the aforementioned shivering despite the multiple coats he wore, a blue military jacket worn over a brown overcoat. He stood there in shock, never expecting to see his son standing before him again.
He gave a crooked grin, not looking Phil in the eye, “I don’t have anywhere else to stay, do you have a couch?”
Phil continued to stare, shocked, just managing to get out a “Yeah mate.”
Wilbur was quick to move past him, talking as he dropped down onto the small couch, “Good, cause it’s fucking freezing out here- OW!, Phil, why does your couch sink so low?”
“Because its old,” Phil said before he could think, closing the door and standing next to the couch, “How long have you been back?”
“A couple of weeks,” He said nonchalantly, “I’ve been staying in that massive crater L’Manberg used to be, but I ran out of food and I needed a shower super badly-”
Phil stopped paying attention to Wilbur’s rambling. No one had told him that Wilbur had been back for a couple of weeks already. Presumably, Wilbur hadn’t told anyone. Which, frustratingly was very in-character for Wilbur to not tell anyone about it.
Meanwhile, Wilbur kept talking, “-also I’m pretty sure the explosion I caused was nowhere near that big, there’s no way eleven stacks of TNT could do that much damage I mean-”
“It wasn’t.”
Wilbur stopped mid-sentence, “... What?”
“It wasn’t you,” Phil said, “It was Dream.”
There was silence for a moment. Then Wilbur laughed.
“Of fucking course it was Dream! He would never have been able to let it go! Oh there’s no way he would have been satisfied with just me doing it!”
“Wil-”
“Sure, I blew it up, but I didn’t want it gone-gone, yknow? Like I had a lot of thinking to do, and yeah sure being alone with my thoughts for years wasn’t healthy, but I gave it to Tommy, yknow? And then Tommy gave it to Tubbo but Tubbo was a good kid-
“Wilbur!”
Wilbur stopped. He had started fidgeting with the ends of his sleeves while he rambled, a nervous quirk from his childhood that never went away. He almost seemed to shrink in on himself, pulling his wings closer like a chick trying to hide. Phil almost missed the wince Wilbur made as he moved his wings.
“Are you okay?” Phil asked.
He made a face, “Am I, Phil? Was I ever okay?”
Phil chose not to answer, climbing on to the couch next to Wilbur. His son seemed to shrink more as he got closer.
“When’s the last time you preened your wings, mate?”
Oh, um,” Wilbur looked embarrassed, “Before I died. I think.”
“Well, they look like shit,” Phil said, “Sit down.”
Wilbur hesitated, eyes darting between the space in front of Phil and the door. Phil knew he wouldn’t make a run for it, the snow was too heavy and the wind too strong, if he was shivering before there’s no telling how he would fare out there. Eventually, Wilbur slid down off the couch and shuffled in front of Phil.
“Just, be careful.” He quietly asked.
Phil sighed, “Of course I will.” He gently grabbed one of Wilbur’s wings, pulling it out from where it was tucked against him.
Wilbur made a hiss of pain as the wing was stretched out, which made Phil instantly stop what he was doing. He certainly wasn’t pulling Wilbur’s wing with force, and a few years was nowhere near enough time for him to lose his skill.
“What’s wrong?”
“Nothing,” Wilbur said, “I probably haven’t stretched it enough. Joints are a little rusty, yknow?”
Phil was unconvinced, “Stand up for a moment.”
“What? No, I'm perfectly fine, just keep going.”
He rolled his eyes at his antics, standing up himself, “Just stand up.”
“Okay”
Wilbur stood up. His movement was stiff and tense, like he had been sitting in a contorted position for hours rather than on a couch for five minutes. He had one hand on the couch for support, and the other on his lower back. If he hadn’t looked no older than 25, Phil might’ve mistaken him for an old man.
“There, happy now?” He looked grumpy, like it had been an inconvenience for him to stand up rather than stay sitting down on the floor.
“Yes.” Phil said, “You’re acting off, and there’s something you’re not telling me, like before I found you in that room.”
Wilbur, at the very least, had the decency to look guilty, “Did you really have to bring that up? Surely there are better ways to guilt me into telling you what you want to hear.”
Phil stared at him, giving a half-hearted attempt at the disappointed-father-look. Judging by how Wilbur sighed, it somehow worked.
“Fine, I’ve been in pain ever since I got back, is that what you wanted to hear?”
“It's a start. Now sit back down so I can preen you.”
“Oh, come on, I just stood up, I’m not sitting down again!”
Arthritis, a common name for a variety of similar diseases, affects the joints of the body. Symptoms include pain, as well as reduced movement and stiffness, in joints. It most notably appears with age, as patients get older the stress of day-to-day life on their joints takes its toll. Hybrids also appear to be more affected than standard humans, most likely due to the increased number of joints in most hybrids. Avian hybrids especially so. Dr. Ponk, MD, Essempi Institute of Medicine
Recovery is slow, and no one knew that more than Wilbur.
Months later, he’s doing better, but he still gets pains. He has his bad days, sometimes his wings lock up and he cannot stretch them without pain. Sometimes he lies in his bed and doesn’t want to get out.
But he has his good days too.
Some days he can fly around without a care in the world. He'll regret it in the morning, but he enjoys the wind in his face and the sun on his skin after so many years in the dark.
Maybe he can finally hope again.

Flowers I Associate with Angels of Death Characters!
*Note, not necessarily always perfectly matching with flower language, of course this is all just my own opinion! Tw for religious topics with some flower meanings.
⚠️Zack⚠️
Cardinal Flowers! Majority of the time they’re bright red, easily recognizable wildflower for its flowers that aren’t perfectly perked up like how flowers are typically imagined to be. I’ve seen it before in wet areas like streams near bogs, so it isn’t hindered by “dirty” environments. This flower is also extremely toxic to humans and pets, deadly just like Zack! Just not in a slasher killer fashion. While this next idea might be a stretch, these flowers supposedly will bring love to the lives of elderly women (by touching the root, not gifting), and Zack just so happens to bring light into a certain elderly man’s life before his untimely death.
Ironically, these flowers have been associated with the red robes of cardinals in the Catholic Church, even though Zack could care less about God and religion.
👓Danny👓
Crabapple Blossoms, specifically Sargent Tina Crabapple with red buds that bloom into white, pure flowers, only to change to bright red, shiny crabapples. Crabapples are actually fairly related to Rose, which can be tied to how Cathy and Danny had a history far before Gray’s experiment, according to the prequel manga series. These gradually whitening flowers caught my eye immediately from the fact that despite the abundance of red buds, not a single white flower was red. Morbidly enough, the red to white transition reminds me of both Danny’s plethora of injuries during the course of the story staining his coat, and also the fact he stopped the bleeding due to his medical knowledge.
Crabapples are toxic to animals due to a compound within the seeds that can transition into cyanide, while in most cases this cyanide doesn’t pose a real threat to humans but can be harmful in large amounts, mirroring how Danny may not always be a lethal threat with his eye stealing, but is capable of plenty of harm.
Ironically and sadly, crabapple blossoms are associated with fertility, marriage, love, and joy, things that Danny was doomed to never have over the course of the main story as an antagonist.
🪦Eddie🪦
Tulips, with its wide variety of colors including orange, along with flower meanings that all relate back to deep and understanding love, something that Eddie offers (though this is partially due to his yearning to “own” something and give a proper death to things he believes he should own.) In areas where I’ve seen tulips, butterflies and other insects definitely crawl about, reminding me even more of Eddie’s death and the butterflies present in the anime. Orange tulips in particular convey understanding and appreciation between two people (usually in a relationship,) which further relates to Eddie’s views on Rachel and his family.
Tulips are, surprisingly, toxic, and in most cases of poisoning, the bulb was confused for edible onions. It may be a stretch to say that this deception matches Eddie’s childish personality (though understandably because he is a literal child) and his ability to kill.
🧨Cathy🧨
Roses, specifically bred ones as opposed to wild or cute Chinese roses. Roses have always been a symbol of wealth, power, passion, and slight danger, and we already know how Cathy circulates through money faster than blood in the circulatory system. I can confirm from falling into rose bushes multiple times that they do indeed hurt, only reminding me further of Cathy and how she craves to judge and punish sinners in the most painful way possible. Roses are not toxic and depend on their thorns for protection, paralleling how Cathy doesn’t directly kill or punish sinners and uses expensive technology to do so.
For those who have read the manga, yes Cathy reminds me of specifically red and white roses, which signify unity (which I associate between Cathy and Lucy, even with Cathy still wearing a ring as if to show that sense of unity is still strong. Even if it was slightly one sided…)
📖Gray 📖
Hyacinths, but particularly from the fact that Hyacinths are strong and sweet smelling (like a certain sweet smelling gas Gray uses.) When I came across a group of Hyacinths, the smell is what hit me first before I even saw them. They come in a variety of colors (white, pink, etc) but also notably purple. While purple Hyacinths are typically associated with sorrow and desire for forgiveness, they can also let a mourner know you’re thinking of them after a death in the family. This can’t be linked to Gray in any significant way, but it is still worthy to note.
No, I did not even think about the whole Hyacinthus myth of Apollo being gay, but if you told me that Reverend Gray was immortal like how Hyacinthus was immortalized, I would 100% believe you. /hj Hyacinths are also toxic to ingest and skin irritants due to oxalic acid.
🕊️Rachel🕊️
Lilies of the Valley, for a variety of reasons. White, small, delicate, and with a mixed history of both youthful and pure things (when in loving arrangements) but also sadness and pain (in funeral arrangements.) This flower also has supernatural associations, such as the belief that these flowers can communicate with an outside world. Despite being treasured by some cultures, they’re actually seen as a nuisance where I live, which could be tied to Rachel’s sense of being unworthy and hated by God. These flowers also are associated with tears, such as the Virgin Mary’s tears when Jesus was crucified, and the tears of Eve when she was expelled from the Garden of Eden, which once again ties into Rachel’s feelings toward God rejecting her. These dainty flowers are also toxic, which is more than fitting for Rachel’s deadly history.
Of course these flowers are what I associate with the AoD cast from my personal experience with the plants, not what plants best fit them. If you have a different opinion, that’s great and feel free to comment it!

Immaterial Possession — Mercy of the Crane Folk (Fire)
Mercy of the Crane Folk by immaterial possession
Immaterial Possession makes giddy art punk with an exotic undertow. Here 1960s Cambodian rock swagger collides with careening casbah choruses, a surf rocking bassline underpins intoxicating runs of hippie flute. If you’ve ever wondered what the B-52s might sound like on a serious Incredible String Band bender, well, possibly a lot like Mercy of the Crane Folk.
That B-52s nod may tip you off that this is an Athens, Georgia pack of eccentrics. The two principals—bass player Cooper Holmes and singer Madeline Polites—met at a DIY art commune. Kiran Fernandes, who plays keyboards, clarinets and flutes, is the son of John Fernandes, who was in two foundational Elephant Six bands, Olivia Tremor Control and Circulatory System. Multi-layered, ethnic-accented percussion comes from regular drummer John Spiegel on most tracks and Jon Vogt on a couple of them.
The disc starts in the glorious, headlong rush of “Chain Breaker,” where Polites alternately wails and flutters, her voice an untrammeled joy as it caroms over a sinuous, not-exactly-Western melody. A clarinet erupts in Middle Eastern flourishes. The drums clatter and clash. And under it all, Holmes bass bucks and rears, bounding up and down the scale at an exuberant, agile gallop.
Polites is apparently fascinated by alternate scales, specifically the modal ones in use in traditional Greek and Spanish music. Thus her melodies—and the accompaniment in flute and clarinet—have a shadowy, minor key slant to them which contrasts in interesting ways with excitable positivity of her voice. The foreign-ness of the melodic structure fits more neatly than you might think with the surfy bravado of guitar and bass; remember Dick Dale’s big hit “Misirlou” had Greek and Arabic origins.
It all makes for a volatile and rather thrilling mix, especially on the quicker, more propulsive tracks. The title cut thunders like a herd of wild horses, the bass notes pounding like hooves on sound, while the verses zoom and wheel overhead in crazy abandon. Spooky female “whoo-oohs” waft over intricate figures of belly dancing guitar. There’s some sort of mythology at work, perhaps; we don’t really know who the crane folk might be or what they want, but the lyrics add another layer of magic.
You could listen to underground rock and punk all year and not hear anything remotely like Mercy of the Crane Folk. Its elements—surf, Middle-eastern music, freak folk and punk—are not so rare, but they they’re put together is. You might check out Immaterial Possession for the wild, weird juxtapositions it offers, but you stay because it works so well.

SO. ill put the thing below the cut. its a bit graphic.
The aliens studied how we wage war. They knew about water guns, tear gas, Molotov cocktails; they knew about tanks, guns, trench warfare. They studied how we get information; they found out about the Internet and then, cut it off.
They, however, had a blind spot: the Geneva convention. As we started getting desperate, cornered into isolated pockets of people in hurriedly fortified cities, we decided to stop upholding them.
The universities, full of upcoming scientists, turned out to be a hot spot for this.
"I have an idea," said a history major to the engineers. That resulted in them building a trebutchet, not exactly historically accurate, but good enough to catapult alien corpses back to the aliens. They waited a few days before doing that, so they were mushy, slowly decomposing. They splattered on the battlefield.
"Good idea," said the biologists. Soon, every weapon that pierced skin were poked into dead bodies of aliens first. The injured aliens, as expected, started getting ill.
Then, the chemistry majors came. Someone, probably unhinged previously, knew how to make napalm. They couldn't source much of it, but it sure as hell surprised the aliens: the trebutchet catapulted a lump of white goo in there, and a second after, a Molotov cocktail was thrown.
It covered the battlefield in flames, flames thet burned stubbornly even through rain.
Then, someone, somehow, came with a bottle of sulfuric acid; the alien equipment, as it turned out, was something that got dissolved in that. Sizzling holes were corroded into some of the equipment.
The aliens wanted the Earth. They wanted to kill the people, but not anything else. They wanted the structures, the land, the planet. We wouldn't have had a chance otherwise.
Then, we came.
We weren't students anymore. We were biochemists, and cellular biologists, and by this time, the people were desperate enough to give us whatever we asked for.
So, we sourced dead aliens, too, isolated some of the contents, and selectively bred them. We wanted them to become something that spreads as fast as possible, and kills very quickly. Within a day or two, preferably.
Then, we asked a farmer for a plane he sprayed pesticides with. An engineer made it self-driving -- as he said, it was simple to do: the aliens would shoot it down anyways, so he didn't really need to account for collisions --, and we filled it to the brim with alien rabies.
This is what we called it. We attacked the nervous system, for good measure; we made it reproduce ridiculously quickly, any place it found, and its waste products dissolved the neurons of the aliens.
The best part? It was airborne. We made a fine aerosol out of them, and our little bacteria travelled without having a smell, a color, a trace.
They did shoot down that plane, but it had some time before, and, carelessly, they touched it afterwards.
Soon, the battlefields became silent. The new pandemic raged in their ranks, and, to our glee and joy, we could watch how it made them spasm and stumble; to some, it made their circulatory system shut down, some forgot to breathe, and the unluckiest ones, who survived for longer, walked around in circles, made horrible, horrible screeches; we saw them act disoriented, getting scared from seeing their own leg; in a few instances, they shouted something and shot each other.
This was almost like scorched earth - but to no loss to ourselves. Drinking our water, eating our food, breathing our air, or even touching the things on our planet became deadly.
Before this, the aliens told us to surrender our planet, and we'll stay alive. Now, the fortified cities had people holding up signs: we won't kill you if you aren't on our planet.
Eventually, they listened.
We kept some of the alien rabies, just in case; and we became famous as the planet who resisted the conquerors.
The war was all but lost. The aliens captured world after world, Humanity’s subjugation seemed inevitable. Then your spec ops team was authorized. A group of Biologists with no morals, no scruples, no care for civilian casualties, and unlimited funding…

So back in high school I was forced to take economics. That's not necessarily a bad thing, I suppose. Money is the blood of our society, so learning how the commercial circulatory system works can be useful. That I hated every second of it was, to some degree, a personal issue. I can admit to that.
But.
My teacher spend a class showing us the entirety of Greed with John Stossel, a 1998 special on the nature of "greed" and why even though it's objectively a bad thing, it's actually super awesome and the sole reason for the existence of everything we know and love. I should note that this was in the year of lord 2008, a full ten years after the special was made and just around the time of that huge US economic crisis that many people are still trying to crawl their way out of. It sure was a choice to choose this particular moment in history to show your class of impressionable students the joys of trickle-down economics.
The piece stuck with me. I've never seen Wall Street because I hate Capitalism and America, but I do know the quote "Greed is good" because it's quoted in Greed with John Stossel a number of times. As nearly two decades passed, I would bring the piece and the quote up whenever I happened to be talking about how the United States conditions its people to believe in self interest above all else, from a very young age. But I could never remember what the special was actually called, and many people thought I was just misremembering Wall Street, which again I've never seen and don't plan to. But I did start to wonder if I was misremembering things. Did my inherent bias against the American Dream and subsequent evolution into an adult who was recently told they "might be kind of an anarchist" perhaps cause me to think of this obscure 90's special as worse than it was?
I'm pleased to announce that no, it did not. I finally tracked the thing down (it's on YouTube in six 7-minute parts) and was just as horrified and angry about it as I was when I was a teenager. Some of my favorite terrible things from it include:
John Stossel calling scientists "greedy for knowledge" and artists "greedy to create something new."
John Stossel talking about some experiment where people could take dollars bills from a bowl, but every ten seconds if there something left, the money would be doubled, and using the group's initial inability to not just grab all the money immediately as proof that people are inherently greedy all the time - despite the fact that they later decided to work together to take the money in shifts to make sure everyone got some, which Stossel decided was proof that only greed can inspire teamwork.
"Children who are born into poverty are fascinated by capitalism" said by a guy who randomly decided to leave his import/export business to teach business math at "the worst school in New York City." Stossel then added "We tend to think of capitalism as something only the privileged practice, but it's actually the great equalizer." This was then followed by objectivist philosopher and Ayn Rand fanboy David Kelly saying "It's the poor who need capitalism the most." At no point did any of these men ponder the root causes of poverty.
The entire section with Jeff Ellis, who owns a for-profit lifeguard training business that (at the time, not sure if they still) actively stalks and films their lifeguards at random while they're on the job to make sure they're not slacking off. The point of the segment is that you get better quality lifeguards from a for-profit program than from a non-profit, like the Red Cross. Never mind how underfunded non-profits are, or the fact that anyone will perform better when they know they're being spied on. This is one of the few sections I vividly remembered from high school, for some reason.
Pretty much everything that comes out of David Kelly's mouth.
Computer Chip CEO TJ Rogers laying off hundreds of employees despite his company making a profit and being worth 2.8 billion dollars, then telling us in his mansion next to his private vineyard that, "I build it, I own it, I deserve it," followed by "I could take what I have and never have to work another day in my life," then finally, "...the world's better off when I make a dollar than when I don't." We're supposed to be on his side, because he created new wealth.
John Stossel saying to the audience "Frankly, I didn't see any of you turning down your last pay raise" like it's some kind of profound wisdom. Joke's on him, the only pay raise I've ever gotten without changing positions was $1, which I wasn't even given the choice to refuse.
The continued insistence that the richer these CEO's get the better off "we" will be, as if Stossel is a.) one of "us" and b.) presenting any genuine evidence to support this claim beyond "creating more wealth and jobs is a thing."
TJ getting mad at Ted Turner because he gives money away, saying he should instead take his money and "invest it, you can't help people any other, better way than to invest it and to have the companies and buildings and plants that are created with his investment create wealth and jobs and products for other people."
Ted Turner asking John Stossel why the rich can't create jobs and give money to those in need, to which Stossel answers, "because you and Bill Gates are so good at creating jobs, and isn't that the best gift?" which causes Ted Turner to walk off as everyone on set laughs at him.
"So the next time someone tells you you're greedy, tell them that greed created civilization, is that so bad?"
I realize I just basically recapped this entire monstrosity rather than listed the highlights. I also realize the futility of getting angry at something that's over twenty-five years old. I'm less angry about the special itself, and more angry that an educator tasked with teaching economics felt the need to devote an entire class to this, but failed to teach any of us how to do our taxes. Or about where our taxes go. Or about the literal financial crisis that was happening around us. But then, if you truly believe that greed is good, then discussion how greed just completely destroyed everything isn't something you'd want to touch with a ten foot poll.
My mother later met my economics teacher at some sort of school event. She knew how much I hated this class and this teacher, but was polite about it. My teacher commented that I was "a bit of socialist" but then said, "most are at that age."
I hated economics class.
I still hate that economics class.
Greed is not good.
#rant#I'm not sure why I needed to get this out of my system#I can't believe I spent more than two hours giving John Stossel the time of day#I accidentally missed a lesson I was supposed to teach while watching this#now I'm lower on the tutor tier list and in sanity#economics#capitalism#corporate greed#education

Health Benefits Quit Smoking
Discover the Remarkable Health Benefits of Quitting Smoking
For avid smokers, the words "Health benefits quit smoking" may seem like a distant dream or a vague promise. However, beyond the initial skepticism lies a reality that is both transformative and profound.
Quitting smoking is not just about breaking a habit; it's about reclaiming your health, vitality, and overall well-being.
In this blog, we delve into the remarkable health benefits of quitting smoking, shedding light on the positive impact it can have on your life.
Understanding the Impact of Smoking on Health
Before we explore the benefits of quitting smoking, it's essential to understand the detrimental effects that smoking can have on your health.
Smoking is a leading cause of preventable diseases, including lung cancer, heart disease, stroke, and respiratory conditions like chronic bronchitis and emphysema.
The toxic chemicals in tobacco smoke damage the lungs, heart, blood vessels, and other organs, significantly increasing the risk of developing various health issues.
Immediate Health Benefits of Quitting Smoking
The decision of smoking cessation brings about immediate health improvements that are both tangible and rewarding.
Within hours of quitting smoking, your body starts to heal. The levels of carbon monoxide in your blood decrease rapidly, which allows oxygen levels to return to normal.
It leads to better circulation and improved lung function, resulting in increased energy levels and reduced feelings of fatigue.
Additionally, quitting smoking reduces the risk of immediate health concerns such as coughing, shortness of breath, and respiratory infections.
Long-Term Health Benefits of Quitting Smoking
The long-term health benefits of quitting smoking are even more significant and impactful.
Some of these are:
i. Improved Respiratory Health
One of the most noticeable health benefits of quitting smoking is the improvement in respiratory health. Smoking damages the lungs and airways, leading to chronic respiratory conditions such as chronic bronchitis and emphysema.
By quitting smoking, you give your lungs the chance to heal and repair themselves. Over time, coughing and shortness of breath decrease, lung function improves, and the risk of developing respiratory infections diminishes.
ii. Reduced Risk of Cardiovascular Disease
The toxic chemicals in cigarette smoke damage the blood vessels, leading to the buildup of plaque and narrowing of the arteries.
When you start your quit smoking journey, you significantly reduce your risk of cardiovascular disease. Within just a few years of quitting, the risk of heart attack and stroke drops to that of a non-smoker, contributing to a healthier heart and circulatory system.
iii. Enhanced Immune Function
Smoking compromises the immune system, rendering smokers more vulnerable to infections and illnesses. By quitting smoking, you strengthen your immune system's ability to fight off infections and diseases.
It leads to fewer colds, flu episodes, and respiratory infections, as well as faster recovery times when illness does occur.
Additionally, quitting smoking improves wound healing and reduces the risk of complications from surgeries and other medical procedures.
iv. Improved Quality of Life
Perhaps one of the most significant health benefits of quitting smoking is the improvement in overall quality of life. Freed from the constraints of smoking, individuals experience a renewed sense of vitality, energy, and well-being.
They no longer have to worry about the health consequences of smoking or the social stigma associated with being a smoker. Instead, they can enjoy a life filled with vitality, joy, and fulfillment.
Conclusion
The health benefits of quitting smoking are undeniable and far-reaching. From improved respiratory health and reduced risk of cardiovascular disease to enhanced immune function and overall quality of life, quitting smoking offers a multitude of benefits that positively impact every aspect of your well-being.
